okay so aaaa this didn't rlly follow the ask bc all he does is ask reader to tutor him and then cute stuff happens but i can make a hc of it probably tonight or tomorrow?? also i wrote this when i was having tummy issues so im very sorry if its horrible. i love u!
got a request? my asks are open!
Bokuto wasn’t one to get embarrassed that easily. Sure, he did embarrassing things but didn’t know they were embarrassing. They were part of his boyish charm, which people loved about him…right? Of course, they did. He was Kotaro Bokuto. He was Fukurodani’s ace, and the people loved him for it. So why, if he was so confident, did he get awkward and embarrassed around you, his pretty classmate?
Saying you were gorgeous was an understatement. He couldn’t find the right words to describe you to his friends, mainly Akaashi. “She’s just like, y’know? And I’m like, oh damn! She’s cute as fuck!” Boktuo would make various gestures with his hands as he and Akaashi sat on the steps leading to the gym, sipping cola from the vending machine. “What do I do, Akaashi? She’s so pretty, and I’m pretty too! The only problem is that everyone else in our year thinks so, too…do I even have a shot?”
Akaashi would offer him a pitiful smile, rubbing his back in assurance. “Well, isn’t she one of the smartest in our year?”
“Yeah, smart and pretty. She’s so fucking perfect, I wish you could see her.” he pouted.
“Well, the answer is simple,” Akaashi said, standing up and stretching his arms above his head. Ask her for help with homework; god knows you need it.”
“Hey! I got a 41 on my chemistry test!” Bokuto yelled at Akaashi as the setter entered the gym. But he did have a point, like always. Bokuto decided then and there that he would ask you to tutor him tomorrow, no matter how anxious he was. Anxiety was for suckers anyway.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/18825d53240bb3afcf2d27aa7a5485db/9f3a4fbd9cf71b0d-e3/s540x810/c6f29ad3fc4f188d448f3b059413fa2ff473ad1e.jpg)
“Hey, wait up!” Bokuto ran after you as you exited your classroom, papers flying out of his messy bookbag that was riddled with stains from only God knows what. “I gotta ask you a question!”
You stopped walking and turned your heel, raising an eyebrow as the Fukurodani captain barreled towards you. “Hey, what’s up, Bokuto? How’s volleyball going? Are we headed to nationals?” you asked, placing a hand on your hip. God, even the way you held yourself was perfect. Were you an actual goddess, or was Bokuto just lovestruck?
Bokuto finally caught up to you, leaning against the hallway walls in an attempt to appear suave and put-together. His messy uniform didn’t help his cause, but he forgot to look neat today. And every day after that. “Uh, I was wondering if you understood what we were assigned in English yesterday? I don’t understand any of it to save my skin, hah,” He rubbed the back of his neck, looking down at his shoes. “Did you get what our teacher was saying?”
“Yeah, it was really simple. Just basic grammar and syntax structures. Was it complicated for you?” you tilted your head to the side.
“I don’t really get it. Wanna tutor me at my house today? I can get you snacks!” he offered you a crooked smile, leaning forward so his golden eyes peered into yours. “C’mon, please? The coach will kick my ass if I don’t get my grades up, and I have a game next week! Pretty please?” he folded his hands in prayer, his bottom lip in a childish pout.
You smiled and nodded, grabbing him off the wall. Bokuto blushed at the sudden contact, noticing how neat you kept your fingernails compared to his own. Yours were neatly polished to perfection while he bit his nails almost constantly, and being a wing spiker didn’t come with having good-looking nails.
“Where’s your house? Is it walking distance?” you let go of his hand, much to Bokuto’s dismay.
“Yeah, it’s about five minutes from here. Wanna stop at a convenience store on the way? I’m really hungry.” he rubbed his stomach as you two walked out the nearest exit, your messenger bag dangling over your shoulder.
“Only if you’re paying,” you joked, rubbing his shoulder. Bokuto could have sworn his heart stopped right then and there. Were you actually flirting with him, or were you just really touchy? Either way, it was a win in his book.
“Sure, I don’t mind. Anything for a pretty girl like yo-” Bokuto stopped his sentence, smacking his hand over his mouth. “I-I mean, why wouldn’t I mind? I’m a captain, after all. It’s my job to provide for my teammates!”
“But I’m not on any sports teams. I’m not your teammate.” you deadpanned,
“You know what I mean!” Bokuto whined, wiping his forehead of the sweat that was slowly starting to gather. “Damn, it’s a hot one today. Why won’t they let the guys wear shorts? Do they want us to die of heat stroke or something?”
“I honestly have no idea,” you sighed, walking under the shade of the convenience store roof. “Wait a minute,” you instructed, placing your messenger bag on the hot pavement. You shrugged off your school blazer and wrapped it around your waist tightly in an attempt to cool you off. You also rolled up the sleeves of your white blouse, loosening your collar. “Sorry, I’m just really warm. At least we get to wear skirts, right?” you offered him a lopsided smile.
Bokuto’s heart pounded in his chest. “Uh, yeah, you girls are so lucky. Wearing skirts must feel awesome.”
“It’s awesome until you catch someone trying to look it up,” you mumbled in annoyance, hoisting your bag over your shoulders.
“What the actual fuck? Who was it? I’ll murder them! I'll text Konoha too; he’ll definitely want in on it,” Bokuto clenched his fists together, walking into the store with you. “I’m sorry that happened to you, honestly.
You shrugged your shoulder and rummaged through the ice cream pin, choosing a passionfruit-flavored ice bar. “It’s fine, don’t worry about it. I barely know you, anyways.”
“That doesn’t mean that I can’t protect you from jerks like that guy,” Bokuto angrily shoved his hands in his pockets, tapping his foot on the tile. He fished about 400 yen out of his pocket and handed it to the cashier, ushering you out of the shop as quickly as possible.
“What was that for?” you asked, unwrapping the popsicle.
“I didn’t like how he looked at you, that’s all.” Bokuto huffed. He made grabby motions for your bookbag, which you handed to him with a confused look on your features. “Let me carry that, please. You’re too pretty to carry heavy stuff around like that all day.”
You paused your walk and stared at Bokuto, blushing softly. “You think I’m pretty?”
Bokuto slowly nodded and gave you a crooked smile, blushing in turn. “Yeah, I really do. I was afraid to tell you before, but now I’m all fired up. I wanna protect you from creeps, y’know?”
You popped the ice treat out of your mouth and stepped forward, smiling softly. “We barely know each other, and you want to keep me safe? We haven’t even hung out once.”
“We’re heading to my house right now, aren’t we?” Bokuto shrugged, his blush not fading.
You chuckled and took another step forward, the tips of your noses brushing against each other. “Yeah, I guess we are,” you whispered, your lips dangerously close to his own. “You know, I always thought you were kind of cute. In the athletic kind of way, I suppose.”
Bokuto dropped the bags he held onto the hot concrete beneath you, praying they wouldn’t roll down the hill you were standing on. You two were in a remote location, and the tension was thick. “You think I’m cute?” he tilted his head to the side, his eyelids dropping halfway.
“Mhm,” you purred, your popsicle dripping from the intense heat. “Super cute.”
“Fuck,” Bokuto’s hands hovered above your waist, unsure of what you wanted him to do. “Uh, is it okay if I kiss you? Please, cutie?” he quietly pleaded, your lips basically touching at this point.
You smiled and nodded, holding your melting popsicle behind your back. “Mhm, it’s okay.”
Bokuto smiled as his lips interlocked with yours for a minute, savoring the sweet passionfruit flavor that coated them. His hands squeezed your waist childishly, never wanting this moment between the two of you to end. This kiss was exactly how he dreamed it would be, soft and perfect. Just like you.
You pulled away after a bit and giggled, your popsicle having since fallen onto the heated pavement. Your sticky hands cupped his face, the pads of your thumbs running over his defined cheekbones. “You’re a good kisser,” you pecked his forehead bravely. “Like, a really good kisser.”
“Same to you, cutie,” his hands left your waist, choosing to instead secure your wrists. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to do that. So. Fucking. Long.”
A chuckle escaped your lips as your hands fell to your waist again, intertwining your fingers with Bokuto’s. You had never notified it before, but he was much bigger than you. It made you feel safe and secure. Protected. “We should probably get to your house to study, shouldn’t we?”
“Aw, I was having so much fun kissing you on the sidewalk!” Bokuto pretended to whine, kicking a loose pebble that was in his way. He easily picked up the bags with his spare hand and tossed them over his broad shoulder.
“Tell you what,” you squeezed his hand. “For every question you get right, I’ll give you a kiss. Does that sound like a fair deal?”
“Hell yeah, it does!” Bokuto kissed you on the cheek in excitement. He practically skipped to his house with you in tow, excited for what the rest of the day would have in store.

Hii, about your recent AU: how is TomurAFOs relationship to Toshi and Kotaro (and the other vestiges in general)? Is he also aggressive or does he just sulk & suffer in silence?
tomur(afo) is surprisingly a bit lenient on toshinori, since he spends all his hating energy on kudou, cus he lives with him everyday and has to deal with him constantly bc hes, ehem, his parent (his energy capacity matches his baby body lol) he only ever sees toshinori occasionally whenever the kudous visits the shimuras, or if theres a playdate set up btwn tomura and kotaro. so mostly tomura is just mean towards him haha
toshinori sees him as a little brother just like with kotaro :] despite how mean or scary tomura can be, toshi is completely Unbothered by it and teases him alot too
here's a drawing excerpt about them ! (even tho im pretty sure u alrdy saw this on twt oomf)
as you can tell from my prev drawings the shimuras and kudous are close family friends. and since they luckily had kotaro and tomura almost around the same time it was inevitable that theyd set both of them up to be friends
tomura sees kotaro as a nuisance as hes forced to be around him (but theres no malice). hes not aggressive for the same reason above so yes he does just sulk and ignore him. kotaro is, however, kinda clingy and sees tomura as his best friend (for whatever reason). and is usually the one who starts conversations and engages with him
here's another excerpt about them from twitter!
now for the rest of the users, im not completely sure yet? just know he does nawttt like anybody (at first maybe). bruce, a constant presence in the kudou household that he kinda tolerates. nana, is kinda the same attitude with toshi too but since he doesnt interact with her often as yoichi drops him off for kotaro and him to play. now for hikage, daigoro and en, i dont have an idea yet . BUT hikage might be like an older brother figure too, as hes around 16 here, and that he's under bruce's care so he sees the family occasionally too
theres that! and to end this post off, bonus kudoichi:
(this is their default response everytime they leave tomura under someone elses care)

(and this is in regards of the drawing tomura made lolol)
#sprry for the longgg answer l;gdskl;#but thanks for the ask!!!#its fun answering these hehe#dahlia.rb#i sould probably make a tag for this au already lol. just not sure on the name yet#my hero academia#yagi toshinori#shimura kotaro#mha afo#kudoichi#mha kudou#shigaraki yoichi#dahlia.answers#the first and second kdch drawing pertains to the other two from above

bokuto-san: Hey, not feeling great, so I'm gonna skip today, dont worry about me though! Pretty sure I got it for the test tmr, thanks for everything, btw. You're awesome!
You read it twice, then a third time, searching for something unsaid in the cheerful punctuation and easy words. A part of you wanted to believe him, he was the type to bounce back from anything, wasn't he? But there was a hollowness between the lines that you couldn't ignore.
You sighed, setting your phone down, but the weight in your chest stayed. It had lingered ever since you turned him down the night before, a gnawing guilt that you couldn't quite shake.
Why did it bother you so much? It was just a game, wasn't it? A volleyball match. You had better things to be doing. You didn't owe him anything beyond tutoring sessions, and those were transactional at best, right?
But the look on his face when you said no kept replaying in your mind. The slump of his shoulders, the way his grin faltered for just a second too long before he forced it back on. You'd hurt him, and you hated that. The logical part of you stood by your decision. You had a project due, and responsibilities to juggle.
You told yourself it was fine. He'd been improving steadily, and he probably did have a good grasp on the material by now. But his absence left the dorm unnervingly quiet.
Meanwhile, Bokuto rolled onto his side, his phone still clutched in his hand. The text stared back at him, the gray 'read' under his text practically mocking him. His jaw tightened as he thought about how easily you had dismissed the invitation, how easily you'd prioritized something else over him. He hated the feeling, he wanted to be as important to you as your project.
He wasn't actually sick. Not in the way you'd think. But after last night, the idea of sitting in your dorm and pretending everything was fine felt unbearable.
The rejection hadn't been harsh. You'd been kind and even offered to go next time, but it still stung in a way he hadn't expected. He wasn't used to feeling small. On the court, in life, he was the guy who lit up a room, who powered through anything with a grin and sheer determination. But hearing you say you couldn't make it to his game, that you had better things to do, though you didn't word it that way, it wasn't just a missed game, it was the hollow aching feeling of being pushed to the side.
He tossed his phone onto the bed with a soft thud, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. No matter how much he tried to convince himself otherwise, it hurt. It hurt more than it should have, and that gnawing emptiness didn't ease the longer he thought about it.
Bokuto sighed, staring up at the ceiling. His room felt unusually quiet, with no hum of excitement, no anticipation for Friday's game like there should have been. He hated how much this was getting to him. It wasn't like you'd done anything wrong.
What frustrated him most was that he wasn't sure why it bothered him so much, other than the obvious. He was used to people letting him down in little ways, laughing off his energy, brushing aside his invitations, saying 'maybe next time' when they really meant 'never'. But this was different. He thought you were different.
He groaned, running a hand through his hair and letting his palms rest on his cheeks, his mind replaying the way your voice had softened during your study sessions, the way your eyes lit up just slightly when he actually understood something. He thought maybe you cared, not just about the tutoring, but about him.
Bokuto's hands flew into the air dramatically and landed on the comforter with a muffled thud. His palm reached for his phone as he stared at the ceiling. The ache in his chest refused to leave, and for once, his usual methods of distracting himself, counting the specks on his ceiling, wasn't working.
With another groan he opened his contacts, his eyes landing on a name he often went to with problems, Atsumu. It wasn't because Atsumu was particularly wise (he definitely wasn't), but because Atsumu always had something to say. Usually something ridiculous enough to make Boktuo forget what he was upset about in the first place.
"Alright, Tsumu," he muttered to himself as he hit the call button, "Time to be a bro again,"
The line rang twice before Atsumu picked up with a dramatic sigh.
"Bokkun, let me guess. You've run out of hair gel, or you need me to tell ya yer the best wing spike in the world again?"
Bokuto frowned, clutching the phone tighter, "No! And that was one time!" he paused, his voice dropping slightly, "This is serious, Tsumu,"
There was a beat of silence before Atsumu said, "Alright, I'm listenin'. Hit me,"
Bokuto took a deep breath, "Okay, so... I invited my tutor, you know, the one who's been helping me to not fail, to our game, the big one, rival team, packed gym, all that stuff. I thought they'd say yes, but they said no."
Atsumu let out a low whistle, "Oof. Brutal. Did they at least give ya a reason?"
"Yeah," Bokuto muttered, "They said they had a project or something, and it's fine I get it, but... I dunno. It still sucks, you know? I thought maybe-" he cut himself off, groaning, "Never mind,"
"You thought maybe they cared as much as you do," Atsumu finished for him.
Bokuto blinked, "...Yeah,"
"Well," Atsumu began, his tone suddenly businesslike, "There's only one solution to this."
Bokuto sat up, "What is it? Should I send them flowers? Or, like, write an apology note? Or-"
"Go on a run,"
Bokuto froze, "...What?"
"A run," Atsumu repeated as if it were the most obvious solution in the world, "You're spiralin', Bokkun. Overthinkin' stuff isn't your style. Youre a doer, not a thinker. Lace up yer sneakers and run till ya can't think straight anymore. Works every time."
Bokuto frowned, his brow furrowing, "That's your advice? Go for a jog? I'm pouring my heart out here Tsumu!"
"And I'm savin' ya from yourself," Atsumu shot back, "Look, you don't have time to be mopin' over some person. We've got a big game tomorrow, yer energy's gotta be one hundred percent, or are ya plannin' to let me carry the team?"
Boktuo bristled at that, his competitive streak instantly flaring up. "Hey! I'm not gonna let you carry anything. I'm fired up for the game!"
"Then prove it," Atsumu said smugly, "Get your head back in the game, Bokkun. A run'll clear yer brain, shake out all that weird energy, and remind ya what actually matters. And what matters is crushin' our opponents, not daydreamin' about someone who isn't even showin' up."
Boktuo opened his mouth to argue but found himself deflating slightly. Atsumu wasn't entirely wrong. The game was huge, and his team was counting on him. He couldn't afford to be distracted.
"Fine," Bokuto muttered, dragging himself off his bed, "But if this doesn't work, I'm calling you back,"
Atsumu snorted, "You always call. Now go run like yer chasin' a win, Bokkun. And try not to overthink while yer at it."
Bokuto grumbled as he made his way to his closet, "Why do I even call you anymore?"
"'Cause I'm a genius," Atsumu replied smoothly, "Good luck, and don't trip!"
With an annoyed groan, Bokuto hung up and tossed his phone onto the bed with a sigh, rubbing the back of his neck as Atsumu's words echoed in his head, 'crushin' our opponents, not daydreamin' about someone who isn't even showin' up.' Harsh, maybe, but Atsumu had a knack for cutting through the noise.
He crouched down to rummage through his closet, pulling out a pair of running shoes. His fingers paused over the laces, thoughts swirling despite his best efforts to shut them down. Atsumu wasn't wrong, he always knew how to hit Bokuto where it hurt, but it was for his own good, right?
Still, the reminder stung. Bokuto wasn't used to this feeling, this hollow weight in his chest. Normally he was unstoppable. Bright, bold, unshakable. But the idea of someone not wanting to be part of his world, even for as something as simple as a game, gnawed at him in a way he couldn't explain. He shook his head and muttered to himself. "Stop being dramatic, Bokuto. It's just a game, and it's just one person."
But that wasn't entirely true, was it? He grabbed a hoodie and pulled it over his head, glancing at the mirror out of habit. His reflection stared back, looking just as off as he felt. It wasn't just a game, it was the game, the one he'd been hyped for since he heard about it. And it wasn't just one person, it was you. The one person who'd been patient when he struggled with concepts, who actually listened when he rambled, who filled the quiet moments with a sense of presence that made them anything but empty.
As stared at himself, Atsumu's other words came rushing back. 'Yer spiralin', Bokkun. Ovethinkin' stuff isn't your style. Yer a doer, not a thinker.'
Bokuto huffed out a laugh, half annoyed, half grateful. Atsumu had a point. Thinking wasn't his strong suit, it never had been. When something felt off, he didn't analyze it; he fixed it. When things were tough, he powered through. But what was he supposed to do now? You weren't a problem he could solve, and he couldn't just barrel into your dorm and demand that you care about the game as much as he did, care about him as much as he cared for you.
The fabric of the hoodie sat uncomfortably against his skin in the warmth of his room. Maybe that's what was bothering him the most; the realization that he couldn't make you care. He couldn't make you want to come. That had to come from you.
As he grabbed his earbuds and headed for the door, Bokuto clenched his fists, trying to shake off the tightness in his chest. Atsumu was right. A run would clear his head. He just needed to focus on the game, his team, and the roar of the crowd.
But even as he stepped outside and started jogging down the sidewalk, the cool night air brushing against his cheeks, one thought kept creeping back in. What if, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't stop caring about someone who didn't care back? After the test, you will be out of his life.
He picked up his pace, pushing himself harder. The rhythm of his steps pounded against the pavement, a slight contrast to the music in his ears. He didn't want to think anymore, not about the game, not about you, not about how much he'd hoped to see you in the stand, even just once, and definitely not about how he would probably never see you again.
Bokuto slowed to a stop, his breath clouding the crisp night air as he leaned forward, hands braced on his knees. His heart pounded in his chest, not just from the run but from the restless thoughts he'd been trying to outrun. He straightened, wiping his damp forehead with his sleeve, and glanced upward.
The stars stretched out endlessly, tiny lights scattered across the vast, dark canvas. He stared at them, searching for anything familiar, and then he saw it. Orion's Belt. Three stars lined up in perfect harmony, just as you'd described.
A faint smile tugged at his lips. "Found it," he murmured, his voice almost lost in the quiet. He could hear your voice in his head, patiently guiding him through constellations on that late-night call. He'd been so excited then, almost giddy when he'd finally spotted it. Now, the memory felt bittersweet.
He sighed, letting his gaze linger on the stars. You were under this same sky. The thought crept in uninvited, a whisper he couldn't ignore. Were you looking at the stars, too? Or were you buried in papers, completely unaware of how much space you were taking up in his mind?
Bokuto let out a small, humorless laugh, "What am I doing?" he muttered to himself. The stars didn't have answers. They just sat there, shining quietly, indifferent to the questions swirling in his chest.
The night stretched on, restless and heavy. You had tried to focus, burying yourself in the pile of notes and textbooks spread across your desk, but the words blurred together into meaningless shapes. Your thoughts kept circling back to the same place, or rather, the same person.
You sighed, dragging a hand through your hair as you stood and began pacing. You hated this feeling. It was uncomfortable, unfamiliar, like a knot you couldn't untangle. Why did it bother you so much? Why did the thought of him sitting somewhere, hurt or upset, gnaw at you in a way you couldn't ignore?
You prided yourself on being the kind of person who could deal with things on your own. You didn't need help sorting out your feelings, or at least, that's what you always told yourself. Asking for help meant admitting you didn't have everything under control, and that was something you hated doing.
But this? This felt different. No matter how hard you tried you couldn't sort through the swirling mess in your head on your own.
Your gaze drifted to your phone sitting on the nightstand. One name popped into your mind, Yachi. She was thoughtful, steady, the kind of person who could make sense of things you couldn't. You hesitated, staring at the phone as if it might leap up and solve your problem for you.
What if she thought you were being ridiculous? What if she didn't have an answer? Or worse, what if she did, and you didn't like it?
Your chest tightened, and for a moment, you considered pushing the thought away, pretending this confusion didn't exist. But the weight inside you wouldn't budge.
Finally, with a resigned sigh, you grabbed the phone and dialed.
"Hello?" Yachi's voice came through after the second ring, light and friendly, just as you expected.
"Hey," you said, sitting on the edge of your bed. Your voice sounded small. uncertain, "Can I talk to you about something?"
"Of course," she replied immediately, her tone warm and inviting. "What's going on?"
You hesitated, picking at the fabric of your blanket. "It's Bokuto-san," you admitted finally. "I think I messed up. I told him I couldn't go to his game, and now... I don't know. He hasn't come to study, and I feel..." you trailed off, struggling to find the words. "I feel bad. Really bad. But I don't know why it's bothering me this much."
Yachi hummed thoughtfully on the other end. "Why do you think it's bothering you?"
"I dont know!" you burst out, the frustration bubbling over. "I mean, I care, obviously. But it's just tutoring, right? That's all it's supposed to be. So why does it feel like... like it's more than that?"
Yachi's voice was gentle when she responded. "Maybe it's because you care about him more than you thought."
Your stomach flipped. "No," you said quickly, then hesitated. "I mean... I don't know. He's just... He's Bokuto. He's loud and annoying, and he never sits still. He's the complete opposite of me! But he's also... he's kind. And funny. And," you stopped, heat creeping up your neck as you realized where your thoughts were going. "And I like having him around."
"That's not a bad thing," Yachi said softly.
You pressed your lips together, the truth of her words making your chest feel tight. "I... I should go," you said abruptly, your voice sounding distant to even yourself.
Yachi paused for a beat, then replied, "Okay. But hey, don't overthink it too much, alright? Just... be honest with yourself."
"Yeah," you murmured, even though you weren't sure how to do that. "Thanks, Yachi."
"Anytime," she said warmly. "Goodnight."
You hung up, dropping the phone onto your bed and staring at the ceiling. The room felt too quiet now, the silence pressing in around you. Yachi's words replayed in your mind like a song stuck on loop.
'Maybe it's because you care about him more than you think'
Your chest tightened again, and you rolled onto your side, tucking your knees to your chest. Did you care about him more than you thought? That seemed impossible. It was just tutoring, wasn't it? Helping him study so he could pass a test, so he could play volleyball, so he could...
Your train of thought faltered, and you say up abruptly, shaking your head. This was ridiculous. Bokuto was loud, chaotic, the kind of person who threw you off balance without even trying. You couldn't possibly-
But then why did the thought of him now showing up tonight feel like something was missing? Why did you keep picturing the way his face fell when you told him no, or the excitement in his voice when he'd invited you to the game?
Your gaze drifted to the window, where the night sky stretched endlessly. Stars glittered against the inky blackness, their light steady and unwavering. Orion's Belt caught your eye, its familiar formation somehow comforting.
You leaned your forehead against the cool glass, staring at the constellation. Somewhere under the same sky, Bokuto was out there. Maybe he was looking at these same stars, his thoughts as tangled as yours. The image made your chest ache, a strange mix of longing and uncertainty.
What would he think if he knew how much space he was taking up in your head right now?
The thought of him being hurt by your rejection crept in again, sharp and unwelcome. You hadn't meant to hurt him. You didn't even know why you'd said no in the first place other than your excuse. Maybe it was fear, fear of getting closer, fear of caring too much, fear of letting someone like him, someone so open and bright, into the quieter corners of your life.
But that fear hadn't stopped you from caring. It hadn't stopped you from missing him tonight or from wondering if you'd made a mistake.
You sighed, your breath fogging up the glass. The stars blurred for a moment, and you wiped the fog away, your fingers trailing against the cool surface.
'Maybe it's because you care about him more than you thought'
Yachi's words echoed again, and this time, you didn't push them away.

the Crush
characters: keiji akaashi x female reader x kotaro bokuto
genre: angst/comfort
introduction > chapter one
introduction
you don’t remember a time in your life where keiji akaashi wasn’t there. it was as if you had been tethered together by some invisible string since childhood, always knowing where the other would be, what the other would say.
the quiet little boy with the serious eyes who lived just two streets away from your house. your parents had met at some community event and decided that hey! their children should be friends. and to their credit, they weren’t wrong.
you grew up in a small, sleepy neighborhood with narrow streets and fading shop signs. summers were spent running through the alleys, playing hide and seek, or sitting under the giant camphor tree in the park. akaashi wasn’t the kind of boy to roughhouse or scream. he was quiet, always observing, always thinking. but when he laughed— rare as it was— it felt like finding a secret treasure.
by the time middle school rolled around, akaashi had found his passion: volleyball. and you weren’t really surprised. he’d always been meticulous and disciplined, traits that suited the sport, although you were betting on chess. he practiced for hours, and you would sit on the sidelines, sketchbook in hand, stealing glances at him between the scribbles. it was hard to not admire him— the way he moved with such precision, the way he quietly supported his teammates.
when you both got into fukurodani academy, it felt like the world had aligned perfectly. he made the volleyball team almost immediately, and somehow you found yourself volunteering as one of the managers. even though you wanted to be at the art club—but you felt like being close to akaashi wasn’t just a choice, it was something you needed, like breathing.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4508295f5e5a7468f00448c76e7e4dc4/e2ff3729d570632c-65/s540x810/ec631012ada3b0c994061955be9afede64064c83.jpg)
the gym always smelled like polished wood and sweat. most afternoons, you would sit on the sidelines, handling out towels or jotting down practice notes for the coach. akaashi was the setter, the steady hand that kept everything flowing smoothly. you admired the way he interacted with the team, especially bokuto, whose energy was both overwhelming and infectious.
“can you believe him?” akaashi asked you, as bokuto performed his fifth victory lap around the gym for a spike that hadn’t even ended the game.
you laughed as you hand him his water bottle. “is that why you’re grounding him?” you laughed, “you’re like the team’s compass.”
he gave you a small smile, one of those rare ones that made your chest tighten and your stomach full of butterflies.
“someone has to.” he spoke softly
it was in those quiet moments, those fleeting exchanges, that your feelings for him deepened. there were moments, too——like when he walked you home after late practices or stayed behind to help clean up. sometimes when you would drop something, he’d pick it up before you even bent down, his hands brushing yours.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4508295f5e5a7468f00448c76e7e4dc4/e2ff3729d570632c-65/s540x810/ec631012ada3b0c994061955be9afede64064c83.jpg)
in the end of the practice is when you decided that it was time…
the gym was empty except for akaashi and you, the sound of the volleyball machine’s beeping echoing faintly. your hands were clammy, and your heart was racing.
“keiji.” you called, trying to keep your voice steady.
he turned to you, his eyes calm and curious. “yes?”
you clenched your fists, nails digging into your palms. “there’s something i need to tell you.”
his expression softened. “go ahead.”
“i…” you took a shaky breath. “i like you, i’ve liked you for a long time.”
for a moment, he didnt say anything. the silence stretched, and you could feel your chest tightening with every second. you knew that something wasn’t right.
“i’m sorry.” he finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. “i dont feel the same way.”
your knees felt weak, but you forced yourself to stand— is this what a heartbreak feels like?
“oh…” you managed to say, though it came out more like a breath than a word.
“i-it’s not you,” he stuttered, his tone gentle but firm. “you’re… important to me. but i…” he breathes again, “i like someone else.”
the words hit you like a punch to the gut. you wanted to ask who it was, to demand why it couldn’t be you. but the words died in your throat, deep down, you didn’t want to know.
“i… i see.” you said softly, your voice trembling.
he hesitated, as if wanting to say more, but eventually, he just nodded. “i’m sorry.”
and he then left.

after finishing cleaning the gym after he was gone, you stared at the empty room. your chest felt hollow, as if all the air had been sucked out of the room. finally, you stood and walked towards the exit, hoping that a little walk and the evening air would clear your head.
and that’s when you saw him. he was walking across the courtyard, his shoulder slightly hunched. halfway through, yukie, one of your friends, which is a team manager too, approached him. she placed a hand on his arm, concern written all over her face.
“are you okay?” you could almost hear her ask.
he nodded, and then—he smiled. it wasn’t his usual polite smile; it was soft, warm, and genuine. your breath caught as she pulled him into a quick hug, and he let her.
as they pulled apart, akaashi glanced back, his eyes meeting yours. for a second, neither of you moved your gaze. then understanding flickered in his gaze.
and that’s when it hit you. he is in love with her.
you stepped away and walk to the gym again. your knees finally giving out as you sank into the nearest chair. tears blurred your vision, but you didnt wipe them away.
you had wanted him to always be happy.
but now, watching him smile at someone else, you weren’t sure if your heart would ever feel whole again.

MHA chapter 419 rant
What the actual hell is this chapter ?!?!?!? What is going on horikoshi?!?!??
So suprise AFO IS BACK👎👎👎 seriously what the hell I knew he was gonna come back but he is so boring and I hate him as a villain like wdym you only pulling up with a plan that failed multiple times cos you have thing for your brother like!?!? The doctor and the hero comission could of been better villains. My point still stands AFO being the main bad guy even though this mf was killed and injured by everyone is lame and stupid 😭. Like can AFO just disappear out of existence already like?!?! Also I really doubt that dfo is true considering this guy just loves to act like a season 1 bakugo and call Izuku useless every breathing moment he gets. Also at this point afo out here using shigaraki like a wet human suit thing and that's it
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ca14da66f1e72c3cf841e0a7290082e3/947145dc2ff82098-83/s640x960/daa20f672895e3710cdaa91c4f54f4c0d7a4610e.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/17dbd5211f13743a9b304e884b51ba08/947145dc2ff82098-06/s640x960/b38b9d8bf0f65c098f0d3089ac3a10b64ac06098.jpg)
Shigaraki is dead?!?!!!? Vile. Y'all telling me that shigaraki is basically dead this guy basically killed himself after a little fight (it wasn't little that's a hyperbole it was huge he deserves better than this disservice) sigh so shigaraki died with all his memories and the truth of his own origin which is completely sad and wow the amount of retconning for this is insane. Wdym to tell me that AFO needed someone emotionally weak to take advantage of so he chose kotaro, befriended the guy and manipulated him into having Tenko and then used Tenko as his little thing to make the perfect vessel!?!???!? DAM SHIGARAKI IAM SORRRY HORI DID YOU LIKE THIS
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1144e35a1668a06e5610404f06b14439/947145dc2ff82098-96/s640x960/4cdda3bd79cabd7f9150887b0a0e3708fba42cb0.jpg)
Izuku lost two arms and is getting the worst end of the stick as always. As an izuku Stan this isn't it for me like what are you telling me that HE LOST TWO ARMS AND THEN PEOPLE DO COME BUT I AINT SEEING NONE TRYNA HELP THIS GUY. ALSO IZUKU IS NOW ARMLESS AND QUIRKLESS WHATS GOOD ON HERE??!?????!?!? Also looks like izuku out here being the only one who doesn't actually get a full heart to heart with their villain at least ochako and toga were treated better and got that little sob scene where they called eachothers names out and what not but izuku and shigaraki gotta be sentenced to pure suffering for no reason 🤦♀️. Also the whole page is Hella and I mean Hella creepy and off like wth is this it's too gory (I know that's not valid criticism but this is my opinion) Izuku out here being the only one who can't be a proper hero like the guy couldn't even stand up to AFO unlike bk this is just mountains and mountains of disrespect and disservice . SOMEONE CHECK UP ON POOR INKO AND IZUKU
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b8650786605704b94eb02cbf1059e8d1/947145dc2ff82098-01/s640x960/d35a3908113b140a94b708179406d2d2c4a9deb6.jpg)
The quirks the backstory the things?!?!. So basically overhaul had the oh quirk or whoever the guy in the picture manga panel thingy which looks like OVERHAUL. This guy had an op quirk like he had the power of destruction and reconstruction but then afo takes that away and then has the doctor somehow somehow genetically modify it ( istg i still dont know how that works or how he could do that) and then TOOK SHIGARAKIS OG QUIRK WHICH (what was his og quirk we arent ever told) and then proceedes to set this child who wanted to be a hero for pure failure. Also what is going on with AFO and kotaros relationship and why does the description of kotaro being mentally/emotionally weak heavily remind me of inko midoriya. Also the RETCON LIKE OH AFO IS LIKE HAVE A KID FOR ME OR SOME BS AND HE HAS A KID AND THEN KOTARO APPARENTLY FULLY LOVES HIS FAMILY HOWEVER IT LOOKS LIKE KOTARO LOVES AFO More THAN HIS FAMILY
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/397de2b5adb1bdbb3cd40490a9a9bc4e/947145dc2ff82098-b0/s640x960/282a53b8ae71e4c4135223d4e40c4b1db4e3e38b.jpg)

Eraserhead making a comeback and finally apologising (or not). I mean at least Eraserhead is back and apologising to his student for failing to be a teacher to him which ok cool cliffhanger I guess. Also where is mic I don't think I can take it if mic is secretly off screened especially cos Eraserhead is crying why is the guy crying like is he crying for izuku which dam as he should your student is dying but he was legit shouting left and right for bakugo 🤷♀️. Also Eraserhead has a lot of apologies for izuku considering how he treated the poor dude. ALSO DOES THIS MEAN OBORO IS BACK TO THE PLOT SOMEHOW ( I love oboro) but how does this work how did it happen how did he break free Iam so confused did much due for oboro or something.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/07de1fa16c9585521ec319b63b0069bc/947145dc2ff82098-98/s640x960/e7c07e0efd9af1d546e0d2522b2a314a4e568057.jpg)
Sato, ojirou and sero out here coming in clutch. but none y'all running to see if izuku ain't gonna die from blood loss or something. Cool entry I guess everyone can take a good fight with AFO but Izuku because hori doesn't like izuku and izuku just sucks!!!. I get it 1A is too big so hori out here needing to give everyone their little moments but like?!?! This just makes afo seem so weak it first went from only all might being the one to even fouch and defeat afo and now its everyone thats not the ofa users which great (sarcasm if you couldn't tell). ALSO THIS MOMENT DONT WORK BECAUSE IZUKU LACKS DEVELOPMENT AND SO DOES 1A and their whole dynamic?!?!?!!!!!???!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/9992a4721e6ac470f204a2c3878f536a/947145dc2ff82098-71/s640x960/ae948f65a316e740420f5a88fef3c5cabc20fecc.jpg)

I Have ALREADY SEEN THE SHIGARAKI MIGHT COMEBEACK COS AFO CAN HEAR HIS ECHO BUT I DONT WANT HIM BACK AND IF HE DOES HE SHOULD DIE WITH IZUKU COS I GENUINELY GIVE UP
In conclusion, I hope both izuku and shigaraki die and izuku to be remembered as the greatest hero and that's it honestly!!

en vbs fans treat kohane like a unit leader challenge (level impossible)
like yeah the main story shafted her. we know it sucks she does nothing. thats only on en though T-T its a mistranslation in the second episode that leaves out how an had almost given up but kohane's determination, despite her social anxiety, lead her to want to continue and it turns the entire thing on its head. thats why an protected her from akitos criticism so much.
like shes not the driving force until later in the events, where she properly comes into her own under taiga. but have you read those events? at the very least read awakening beat and kick it up a notch. hell, it's pretty explicit in burn my soul (an akito event) that kohane is the one calling the shots by this point. she might not be the in-universe face of the group but she is the unit leader for a reason.
some of the best vbs fanfic i have ever read has kohane being a leader, a life raft of mental stability almost, for her friends. let them call kohane when they dont know what to do.
when minori breaks she goes to kohane. that should fucking mean something.
oh and kohane is strong! girl is buff! yall forget! like. i think she could probably take an in a fight (and definatley toya and kotaro. probably not akito though but he would feel so guilty that he lets her win)!! like damn yall really dont care outside of shipping huh. yall dont care that polysquad, at least from kohane's pov, is like. more canon than anhane.
she is the goddamn pillar keeping this unit from falling down and yall act like shes not even relevant. do better.
i couldve made this longer but actually kohane haters dont deserve my shit but i cant be arsed to sumarise all this

i've been having So many rider conversations lately. one of which is the fact that kamen rider doesn't really have rivals. because the main rider is supposed to care about the world more than some random asshole. and this truly only deviates in atypical settings like if they were rivals before ridering even happened. (kaito and kouta).
and i am rewatching kuuga, obviously, and a large motivation in that is about how godai doesnt want people (general) to cry, and he wants to protect people's smiles. hero prioritizes world over individual. but in decade yusuke initially prioritizes yashiro over others, and it takes.. manpain, essentially, to get him to see the bigger picture.
so we have heroes that arent like the ideal already. we have. tendou. tsukasa. my yardstick. and it brings into question the image of a hero.
does it actually matter that a hero chooses an individual over the world if the result is the same.
(kind of an extension of both my prior blade analyses. but this one has SCREENSHOTS. first second)
so we discuss the role of a hero. in kuuga ep8, mika wonders if people just dont care what happens to an individual when a tragedy occurs. what value does an individual have when many others were also sacrificed? mika comes to understand this by realizing she, too, is that individual, and yes, she matters too. kenzaki says to sacrifice yourself unthinkingly for someone is a really nice thought. 誰か, Someone. this sentiment is the role of a hero, after all... and that is the point of all of this.
heinous line btw. the writers were sick for this. but at the time it's set up as innocuous. it's a followup to talking about amanes father only thinking about his family in his dying moments, but this bit of dialogue feels more general and wistful. because kenzaki apparently doesnt have anyone he feels like that about... Yet. so it can be taken as regarding people in general. and its obviously not like he doesnt kind of do this every time he fights. being a rider is dangerous. there are many undead who could kill him. he's talking to one who could. not that kenzaki minds though lol. and it leads into when shima asks why he fights, what his purpose is. and he comes up with this:
which is true! this is quite literally what kenzaki is fighting for as blade. the people around him, and everyone else. but "the people around me" is. extremely literal. そこにいるの人. and then 人を愛してる is also kind of a crazy ass line! it is intense but widely general. "i love people." you (i? we.) can understandably interpret the first half to be talking about his Literal Friends, but there isnt even 大切 or anything indicating strong personal feelings. he doesnt even SAY friends. this is why these lines stick out to me.
despite being pretty friendly and kind he is somehow starkly impersonal! kenzaki truly loves the world and the people in it, but individuals are part of that whole of "people". kenzakis social circle is made up of coworkers and people his coworkers know, with kotaro being the only one to willingly barge in and become kenzakis friend (which is named as an anomaly - which must mean the distance is recurring), and then hajime appearing as an enemy and slowly becoming something more- which is an anomaly, which means the distance is recurring!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/12d623c4f39ad48851eab7a68b070553/ef275dec4ce4f154-ae/s540x810/5affb68d0d355fce2f745ab80ebaca7744b280d7.jpg)
an exerpt of a fic an old friend gifted to me, which i think about constantly, and also exemplifies this well: its more because youre a person than because you're you.
i just .love when characters are like this. their actions are heroic and kind but their reasoning seems less so. that being more personal feels more "right", but it doesnt have to be. as long as the result is the same, what does the reasoning matter? and obviously most heroes dont know everyone they're protecting. every single individual saved is a single person, but they still make up the whole of "people". kenzaki's particular oddness comes from the fact that it still, somehow, extends to other relationships, even people who are ostensibly his friends. this is why choosing to save the world and hajime sets hajime as that main priority, as he is the danger in question, and thus not part of the whole.
and nobody knows. nobody outside of kenzakis very small pool of acquaintances will ever know either that he is responsible for the darkroach infestation, nor the reason that he was. moreover, most people will not even know blade himself was the one that saved the world, and only a fraction of anyone will know the board riders were even fighting the undead until one day they werent. (kotaro wouldnt out his friend in the book, cmon. that would be low.)
so to answer the question - well. obviously the answer is no, but it's also yes. no: because if the world is saved anyway, nobody will be able to tell the difference. yes: because if the result comes to pass, they will be misinterpreted as someone they aren't. as a person this isnt ideal. "blade gave up everything for humanity" simply isn't true. but a hero is first and foremost an idea, so maybe they're okay with that, in abstract. the ones who know them will know them. and kenzaki will always be left in pictures, and memories.

The leaks are real but something just feels off about the chapter itself. While we’ve seen in a previous flashback(forgot which one), that Overhaul was very likely to be one of the orphan children prior to joining the Yakuza, it’s just the overall flow of the chapter just makes it seem unsatisfying and resulting in plot holes. Like AFO considered training teenagers to be his double but it seems rather forced to ask Kotaro to have another child and Hana doesn’t seem to reached double digits. Or copying the Overhaul Quirk and making decay out of it would mean that Afo and Garaki could’ve fixed the former’s issues unless Touya destroyed it by accident. And then there’s the situation where technically, only Bakugo won while every other student didn’t achieve their goals(Shoto, Ochaco and Izuku) and that chapter 420 is going to match a certain someone’s birthday.
It actually would make sense though to have the side characters beat AFO but having the other fights not mentioned yet be done off screen is still unsatisfying.
We know that in real life, Hori has health issues due to working with Shonen Jump and having the Dragon Ball creator die last month is very likely to make things more somber. I’m not going to be surprised if he had someone else draw some pages(unless the change in artstyle somehow is a plot point).
Isn’t MHA Izuku’s retelling of the events to someone? Overhaul or Eri are likely to be the Macguffins to give Izuku his arms back given what we’ve seen with Eri earlier so we’re going to have some chapters of celebration of the “win” and a small epilogue.
At least we have fan fiction since it’s very likely that people will ignore the ending.
Yeah this chapter feels soooo off! And dont let me start talking about all the plot holes and how a single chapter managed to destroy over the years built up plotpoints. Like you said WHY would afo and garaki not use the overhaul copy on afo to heal him ESPICIALLY because afo told garaki once "then hurry up and fix me doctor" after garaki mentioned that they havent found a fitting regeneration quirk yet and you are telling me THEY WOULDNT USE THE OVERHAUL COPY TO ARCHIVE THAT??? It was made clear afo wanted to get back to full health but he doesnt use the quirk that could fix him in ONE MINUTE??? Or an other plot hole: afo somehow (dont show just tell) managed to convince the shimuras to have an other child because he considered hana to old to get manipulated DESPITE that he owns orphanages full of children older then or around hanas age even TEENAGE touya and chisaki he considered as fitting vessels if tomura shouldnt work out but HANA was to old??? This is literally retconning what was already confirmed as facts!
And about bakugou: well he is horis golden child so OF COURSE only he is allowed to win since his character is all about winning. And unlike izuku, ochako and shoto he had ZERO emotional connection to afo. No deep. No feelings. Just to give bakugoubitch a win by giving the bad guy the final killing blow, immediately praised for doing so as if afo wasnt already half dead and severly weakend by dotzens of other heroes before who did so much more but BAKUGOU gets the praise (to be fair he did say it was a group effort but he still was the one who was praised first as if he did it all alone)! The ironic thing is bakugou did exactly what he always does: winning by killing. How ironic. Just a few chapters before we got afos backstory which revealed he was a victim of society too but I guess simply killing these kind of people changes everything to the better. Their society will not change. There will just show up an other afo or tomura at one point. Bakugou was allowed to beat and kill the main villain he had no relationship with but izuku, ochako and shoto are not allowed to safe their villain counterparts they actually have a relationship with. I mean its very possible that toga is alive because she is nowhere to be found, but touya even if he survives made clear he will never forgive his family and most likely ending terrible disabled (except if deux ex machine eri will be used here as well) and izuku who FINALLY was able to reach tomura has to watch how he gets destroyed by afo. The leaks say afo completly destroyed tomuras mind so that means he is pretty much dead and only his body remains which is now in afos full control. No final confrontation between afo and yoichi. Nope yoichi is just gone and afo doesnt even look that pissed off about it.
There are fights completly left out. We dont really see any of the other students fight, we just get told they won. We dont see the confrontation between aizawa, mic and kurogiri and just need to accept they eventually reached him and if anything we will only get a small flashback of the events. Its so disappointing and lame. It feels like as if hori just wants to end the manga as fast as possible so he uses his beloved "tell dont show" way of writing.
About horis health issues. I get that. As a huge bleach fan I was so dissapointed how rushed the last arc of bleach was but I was able to understand why. Kubo had health issues too and was forced by shonen jump to end the manga in 10 chapters. No one was more pissed off about that but kubo and if he had been healthy bleach would have lasted at least for an other year. But with hori it feels different. It feels like as if he really just wants to end the whole thing because he lost his interest. The last few arcs have been not really well written. I dont know if akira toriyamas sudden death plays a role in this disaster of a chapter. I get that it was a shock for the manga world. I get that mangakas loved the guy. But maybe instead of rushing the plot and retconning already built plot points hori should just have taken a long break to get himself together if it really affected him that much AND to get rest. Toriyama still lives through his work and will inspire many new mangakas for the comming 50 years or more.
By the way Im not worried about izukus arms at all. Its obvious eri will get used as the deux ex machine to restore them. If its not her then overhaul but Im pretty positiv she will heal izuku. The thing is even if izuku gets finally his confrontation with afo its clear he will win and afo will die.... again. Wow, how creativ. The only thing I hope is that if dfo is canon then izuku will somehow reach afo to get at least a little bit of emotion in that fight and will convince him to let tomura go if there is still a chance to safe him. Im still to 100% sure dfo is canon by the way but I dont think it will have an statisfying outcome and will be rushed as hell.
All in all this was a very dissapointing outcome. I know the manga is not over yet so hori could still surprise us, but I dont have much hope left for a good and well written ending of the story. I really need to stop praising hori when he writes a REALLY good chapter like the one before, because everytime I do that the very next chapter is a pile of shit!
Sorry, if I sound so aggressive and harsh by the way, but this chapter really pissed me off. The ONLY thing I liked about it is the fact that its to 100% confirmed that afo can change his appearance which is a huge win for dfo. Also sorry for the rant and for possible gramatic errors but I wrote this whole thing in a hurry and most likely left a few dotzen things out that pissed me off. 😅

Chapter 98
Lore/exposure stuff
Mihai
confirmed to have been pestered by inugami for 7 years (so Inugami spent that long in Romania, wonder if he got used to the country or at least learned the language a little?)
mihai's condition on becoming inugami's partner was that inugami would find 'a place for him to die'. What a request to ask of someone who wanted a partner that wouldn't die in the first place.
at last, mihai is excited to dive into the world of unknown (death) but he forgot to ask inugami whats the place...
Inari
Seemingly is aware (at least Nobimaru certainly is) that there are certain groups of people and kemono who either wear masks or hide underground but Radiotower ii shall extend her control over the world and no one would be able to escape anymore.
While discussing the end of Japan's self-isolation, Nobimaru mentions how Inari is Japan's problem at this point, but soon enough she'll become a threat to other countries. The information has been strictly controlled until now, so other countries don't know anything about Japan's current state and currently she can't be defeated as is. So.
Let her rage and become the world's no1 enemy hated by everyone.
Britain
The information control has been lifted and the borders have been opened, so the whole world is learning the outrageous truth about Inari letting kemono live openly among people and these new strange beings.
Luna is an unknown yet kemono, who is an editor in chief at kemojiverse Reuters. She is a friend of the President of the United States.
She warns him that Inari is breaking the unspoken rule of kemono quietly hiding among humans.
America
Bold E. Strong is America's first kemono president. He's an eagle. (Actually, I think it's possible to write Bald like that too? Double pun)
He considers Japan a dear ally and is apparently known as a pacifist. He and Luna were discussing Inari over the phone.
China
Some Chinese kemono have been shown as well. They look very familiar but I can't tell lol. Naga? (Not exactly Chinese)
Inugami
Seemingly plotting something outrageous and grand, like a war among kemono (my assumption). This highly confidential information is the reason he keeps his whereabouts secret from Kabane and Nobimaru wonders if the reason Inugami opened up to him is because he (Nobimaru) is the darkness.
(nothing concrete has been said yet but its funny nobi is citing one of inugami's gambling quotes lol)
Real handsome Kotaro in Kyoto
is visiting his brother in Thin's lab. We see that Thin's team has been wearing masks as well so they aren't brainwashed, Thin just couldn't contact them bc of the government reading corrrespondence.
One of the lab's workers says that while 'Kanetake' was conscious, he was seemingly hust repeating words from the real Kanetake's memory. He is currently sedated.
Kotaro starts talking about his older brother, how he was beloved by dogs and people and everyone had high hopes and expectations for him. Maybe that's why they weren't exactly close.
Kotaro's name has the kanji 'steel' in it, and his parents named him in hopes that he can 'forge' himself and become someone who is not overshadowed by his older brother's brilliance. (a bit paraphrased and my own take/understanding) Unlike diamonds (Kanetake's name), steel can be tempered.
He asks to be the one to put his brother's life to an end when the vaccine is ready and if he is allowed to use it. He thinks his brother can't be saved. (aimoto i beg dont pull off aya thin robara teamwork saving kane bs pls i am almost sure he is 100% mamono and can't be saved HE DOESNT EVEN HAVE SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS)
Akira and Yamabuki
Akira is still struggling and doesn't know what to do. He was followed by Yamabuki who wants to continue their talk. She had Mayu use her Belphecrow Wings of Laziness to put Yui into deep slumber.
She feels that Akira is perfect for her world and vision
She comments how he is undergoing development and growth - he learned a valuable lesson when his optimistic approach was so brutally shattered.
She says that he did nothing wrong, in fact, what he did was right. It's clear as a day who should have died between the peace-seeking Akira and the brute mamono apes that didn't even have a reason.
She knows that he is a yuki-onoko and that they are born once a hundred years. It is precisely because he is one that she is seeking him out.
She feels that they are similar.
She is of the Golden Crows clan/subspecies, Kin'u. (Kin'u is seemingly an umbrella term for 'the sun crow' from Chinese and Japanese mythology (Yatagarasu for Japan, though it wasn't exactly golden))
So, in case it wasn't clear before, these karasu kemono are literal crow birds/shapeshifting birds based on Yatagarasu, and aren't tengu, because tengu aren't actually 'crows' but are a type of an ogre-like youkai.
They are born extremely rare within karasu/usual crows species and are the most intelligent and beautiful of crows. Because they're a minority, they've been through unbearable suffering.
She asks if yuki women were 'right' and says that they both must have been through the same pain and treatment (a bit concerning, don't you think?)
Both of them were tormented by the hands of the inferior, powerless kind. The majority. And it's always the majority that shapes 'the common sense'.
She wants to eradicate that evil from the root. Her Vision (tm) is True Sparkling World -The Eradication of Inferior-. (So, her Vision is the 'true' version of Mayu's world, where she would become the most beautiful).
In Yamabuki's world, only the beautiful and superior will live. Never again will the crows be associated with the color black.
'No One Dies' is a stupid and impossible idea, but if Akira joins her, his dreams too will come true. Except that all that is foolish will be eradicated.
Of course Akira can't agree with that. He is stupid and clumsy and makes lots of mistakes - and he is not alone. And that's why he understands how others are important to him. He says that Yamabuki must have been all alone all this time.
He is determined now though, his enemy's words managed to fire him up. He has the courage to face his friends now and next time, he will face Yamabuki in battle too. He thanks her and leaves.
Mayu
We see her thinking about what Yamabuki told her. Yamabuki didn't go after the other brother because he wasn't 'chosen'. Mayu is about to break as she is talking to herself, asking what exactly does 'the chosen' mean...What about Mayu, then?
(she isn't the chosen one)
I guess Yama knew what she was doing manipulating Mayu to kill off other crows out of jelaousy. Lower 'ordinary' crow numbers is possibly what Yama wants.
Other thoughts
It's interesting to finally branch out to other countries kemono. It also makes sense why Inari was even able to self-isolate Japan without other countries interfering - If the symbol of America was already the president at that time or at least someone in power, as a fellow kemono he'd probably agree not to bother Inari. Would be nice to get a timeline though, if he was a president already or Inari's rise to power triggered other kemono becoming heads of their countries (we only know of Bald/Bold atm though)
Another point is that even though kemono outside Japan are still living in the shadows, some of them are in position of power, like the British editor-in-chief. So it also makes it plausible how Inari was the Superintendent.
It is worth noting that according to the extras, the governments are aware of kemono. (So Raiden's dad mostly likely knew of Inari's true nature, unless she was deliberately hiding it)
I can't help but wonder about the kemono jihen, if there were more wars outside Japan? The calculi were seemingly made by strictly Japanese kemono, even though Mukuro/the ghoul isn't Japanese and I'm not sure if these ruins he was shown in were in Japan.
The other foreign kemono that have been shown or mentioned earlier were dullahans and sandmen living in Japan.
A nice bit of writing from Aimoto is that the foreign kemono say the other kemono species and the word 'kemono' itself in their mother languages.
The Chinese word for kemono is guàiwu
The American English is 'supernatural' (Bold/Bald is called America's First Supernatural (Kemono) President)
Bold/Bald kemono species is 巨鷲, which is 'Giant Eagle', but written as an English word 'Eagle' (because he's an Amercian kemono)
Inari is called a 'vixen' instead of 'bakekitsune', because it's an English kemono talking. Could be a callback to the d rug she was in charge of distributing.
Well, that was long. Chapters 99&100 should be huge ones plot/lore wise as well.

So @bibibbon talked about the chapter and was thinking in sit this one down but...nah, I want to say how...this chapter is another proof this is not a story where Izu will be the biggest hero, but the biggest martyr if he is lucky.
The fact Izu is now quirkless and lost an arm is...gross. really gross. I talked to @doodlegirl1998 how the trope people created in fics where "Izu loses his arm ain't cool?" Is really not cool. He loses an army for shocking value and gains nothing. Edward Elric wants to revive his mother and then save his bother...he lost his power but got something greater in return...and people think Izu and Edward's cases are the same. Not even in fics make similar.
@palesweetscherryblossom Izu lost his arm and quirk to save a lunatic. The fandom is weeping about Tenko's friends "he was so good" cricket noises to Izu as in chapter 1 we saw him doing the whole "helping misfit" but no misfit helped him.
Now .... something some people may not agree. Dfo! No. I dont think it will be canon nor I want to be. Afo has show he doesn't care for Izu (guys Inko already suck as mother...do we need to give this to Izu? What would help? I even think he wants to die now "don't have anything outside for me now")
We saw afo on a "date" with Kotaro and people may think this will lead to dfo. I think it will lead to afo being a creepy. Dude is doing everything to ruin Nana's family for....reasons we don't know. (If Nana was a man...would he have done this extreme? Not calling afo a sexist but if she was a man would the narrative treat the situation the same? Maybe, maybe not)
Afo is alive and well...inside Shig's world. We will see this asshole be his cringe self and ...Izu won't matter. We are seeing more of this joke now...afo walking around and talking to people is supposed to be scary "oooh the demon is among us" and if the writing was good this could have been a great twist....it's MHA. Afo was ausent in the story and is now a pitiful plot device.
A theory I saw...is how Yoichi may be the biggest hero and...sacrifice himself to end afo. So in a way, ending afo and ofa forever. Why he never did this before? Who cares? But this theory is still too optimist.
Izu and shig's memories don't really matter. It's an artificial way to make them seem as if they had a great relationship, they don't. Also ....have we saw any memory that matter for Izu? He has any good memory?
But yeah...afo gave shig decay...somehow. bc why not? You know, if Izu doesn't die...I do hope Eri rewind him so his arm is back.
Not sure if I'm making sense...it's just MHA is a big nothing and at the same time "fuck you Izu. Be silent" and his only theory is ...that fandom clings for some reason is "izu is the son of afo" and for what? What this would change? Afo calls Izu useless...he doesn't like him nor show any paternal love...guys, look how he treats Shig...why he would be a dad or want to be one?
I think next chapter....we will see afo's past again...more of the parasite. Seeing him planning how to ruin the Shimuras (the Shimuras as the newest chewing toy) and laughing maniacally. Why all that? Bc fuck you Nana.
Also.....Izu saw MONCHAN and Hana die. Great. He has no idea who they are but ...he saw they dying.
#hori is a bad writer#a really bad one#dude hates his mc#izuku deserves better#mha critical#anti bakugou#bnha critical#anti dfo#god I hate this theory it adds nothing aside pain#izu is dangerosuly closer to be suicidal#ofa users usually have some degree of suicide mentality#we never left chapter 1! he is told to kill himself and may do it#shig deserved better#even kotaro

look man i know you didn't say anything but I can see your face. Doubting stuff again?
Look, man. You guys got here together. You went from being fucking cordnukio to actively helping everyone and contributing to reaching your shared goal. Honestly if they did leave you behind right now it'd speak more of them being willing to use people. Regardless, I don't think they would have put on the same event without you. You did great back there!
I—Ah, um—Am I really that easy to read? Tch, what am I saying, yeah, I should already know at this point that I am.
I...No, I-I know there's no way those guys were just using me. I was the one who shoehorned myself into the plan in the first place and I was the one to come crawling back and beg to join again after stuff fell apart. I know it wouldn't have been as good of an event as it was if even one of us was missing from it, and I know I did the best I've ever done, but, I just—!
...What if that's it? Tono and Miyata are teaming up again as gurney flap and EVER is getting back on track with their music careers too. I'm not gonna stop, definitely not, I don't want to fall behind everyone again, but, I...what if I've peaked? What if this is as high as I can reach? What if I can't make a name for myself if it isn't by clinging onto everyone else?
I just...I...I should come up with a back-up plan or something, right? I...fuck, I don't know, God. God, I hate being this anxious, it's so stupid, I—fuck! Ignore me! I'm just anxious and I don't want to be alone, but we'll definitely stand on the same stage again!
I...don't want to be alone.
#ask#anon#OOC: i love angst LOL!#just like how with my timeskip kotaro hes mostly given up on being a musician#what no confidence does to a mf#even when that mf has real talent and potential#hits him with a hammer#although the end of that event does make me believe in him more hehe#i think he can do it if he just believes in himself#the whole subscribe to my youtube at after rad blast was so fucking funny#hes such a goofball loser#dont give up ever stupid kotaro

Propaganda Below ☟☟☟
Sekiro
"The first thing he does in the game is be depressed in a well for like 3 years. The second thing he does in the game is get his arm cut off. He walks around and looks at people with autistic eyes and when people ask him his name he goes "..........." He's so great. He goes to save his lord and says "don't worry...this will only take a moment." all cool and then immediately eats shit and dies 70 times"
"he's the best boi of fromsoft, he was raised to become a killing machine and he is but he also is soooo gentle, sad and cute, i mean he's ready to sacrifice himself for not only kuro but also divine child that man is ready to be the loving father he never had he also is so sweet to strangers like people usually portray him as rough because he doesnt speak much but honestly he's a sweetheart, he is concerned by isshin and sculptor's health, he gets worried when he sees kotaro or o'rin crying, he always offers help to emma and always thanks her for help, he comforts anayama in the end of his quest... they always say "dont make that face" to him in sad/hurt situations. and all this while being the most dangerous man in the earth, he does kill most of ashina himself he does he also kill his own father he does twice but he had reason for it and he was hot doing so with his sad mysteroud look with that face i'd love to kiss and smash and being a short king that fits perfectly into my arms i jusr love him so much"
Artorias
"Because throughout all the soulsborne I've played, He has stayed ultimate babygirl. Even thru Varre and Chester. Ornstien is such a close second though."

ippiki au: minor characters edition
first things first: here look at everyone. dont mind the inconsistency of style, i took a 4 month break in the middle of these okay
and now! lore and stuff will be under the cut to not clog up everything
ill include everyones images a second time before their specific lore just to help keep track of things i hope you dont mind that. also implied vbs event spoilers (specifically for light up the fire) when you get to radder, if thats a concern at all
mizuki- deer. a runaway from an arena with lower security, met ena early into their escaped days and theyve stuck together since. their antler broke while in the arena, and they havent shed yet to grow back evenly. whether the white spots are because of their deer species or the fact that theyre still a teenager or just because of weird hybrid things is up to viewer interpretation (aka i never really settled on a specific type of deer for them). unfortunately the antlers make them pretty visibly trans and they dont really like having them, but at least most other hybrids dont seem to care too much.
ena- mountain lion. grew up in the same lab as akito, and to neither of their knowledge, they are actually related (ena was still somewhat of an older sister figure to him, along with some of the others from his group. they havent seen each other in a few years since ena got taken to an arena. to each other they might as well be dead). not the biggest fan of their current situation, but shes trying to make the best of it.
they live together currently in the undercity, living somewhat steadily off of odd jobs. its not the greatest life, and maybe one day theyd like to leave, but for two teenage girls, its the best theyre managing for now, and it certainly could be a lot worse. they both couldve never escaped their arenas and died there.
haruka- domestic shorthair cat (but often mistaken for being a russian blue... shes just a regular gray cat with blue eyes). an ex-feral (captured as a child) turned show pet with a reputation for her cool charm. while shes taken to this life with relative ease, she misses her home from far outside the city and her childhood best friend who got captured at the same time and separated from her (she cant help but fear that an is probably dead, sent to an arena for her rowdier personality. shed like to hope otherwise, but the odds are against her)... also yes, her outfit mainly looking like her asrun outfit is intentional.
minori- goat. i forgot her sideways pupils here but she has those, just like kohane and luka. a childhood friend of kohanes, raised in the same lab, but was bought as a show pet instead. no one really knows why, besides her enthusiastic personality having its strengths in the idol-like niche of show pets. admires haruka from a distance, but theyve never had a chance to properly meet. maybe one day...
nene- longhaired fold cat x canary. part of a private project attempting to create non mammalian hybrids by balancing them out with known stable hybrids, and shes one of the first semi successful ones. she might have survived to a reasonable age so far, but not without complications. shes prone to occasionally unstable health and has some speech issues, mostly caused by the bird parts of her not mixing well with everything else. the feathers are cute, but at what cost? although being kept in a very restrictive environment isnt doing her any favors either...
technically shes not even a main part of the au! shes got her own side storyline with wxs lol
kotaro- racoon. literally just some guy. from the same town as haruan, but hes just been there the whole time. probably the only character here who hasnt experienced the horrors to some extent. not actually relevant to the au besides like oh he exists he might briefly show up, but i wanted to draw him because i had design ideas
souma- domestic dog, some kind of mutt. suffered a combination of severe injuries throughout his time in an arena and during their escape, leaving him with a nasty mess of scars across his body as well as a mostly paralyzed arm and a noticeable limp. hes trying to stay positive despite that, after all theyre free! but its tough sometimes, he cant help but feel bad that hes slowing down their pace in traveling.
arata- caracal. from the same arena as souma, but escaped much more unscathed, his past injuries are nowhere near as severe. heard stories about the outside world somewhere and is now determined to find somewhere worth living out in the wasteland with souma. hes not exactly friendly to people they cross paths with, but its mostly out of caution to protect both of them.
fun fact i had to redesign soumarata partially because i just wasnt satisfied with their designs (i had made some very early on into the au) and partially because me and my friends realized souma is the taller one (hes like. slightly taller than touya? while arata is only taller than akito) and i had it the other way around before.
nagi- maned wolf. a popular face around town, and one of their most successful participants in various resource gathering missions (it isnt uncommon for hybrid towns to have members who will steal things for their towns from supply trains that go out to human towns in the wasteland and nagi was often a fan of going on those). she liked to get out and explore the wasteland! sometimes shed let an (and less often, haruka as well) tag along with her so they could see more of the world while still supervised, but that led to her own downfall. a mission went wrong, the kids got caught, and she got killed trying to save them.
taiga- tiger (how could i not go for the pun, and also canon did it first anyway). while once a common sight around town, after nagis death hes become a rare visitor, traveling more often than not, only stopping home once in a while. maybe he doesnt want to linger around the feelings left behind now that shes gone. scary and serious, but not out of bad intentions.
ken- fox (just like an). runs a somewhat popular cafe in town, comfortably settled down. he regrets not being there to protect his daughter, but theres nothing to do about it anymore. maybe one day shell come back, but for now, hes got a job to do and thats the most important thing for him to focus on.
nagi and taiga are fully aware that theyre siblings, unlike akito and ena. it was more common for their generation to be aware of this, rather than having knowledge about their origins withheld. they both were in an arena that focused on team fights, and when taigas original teammate was killed, nagi ended up with him, prompting him to help them both escape because he didnt want to let his sister get hurt more than necessary (even though shes capable of taking care of herself in a fight). they met ken (another arena escapee) during their way out of the city, and began traveling as a group of three until they found the town they all called home. their presence was an important part of making that town thrive into the place it is now, even if things for the trio have since fallen apart quite a bit. nagi is gone, taiga rarely sticks around, ken is the only one who stayed now.
meiko- bear. runs a convenience store at night in the undercity near one of the arenas (the one akikoha are in), well known around the area and uses her advantageous shop location to help new escapees get a little more set into their newly freed lives. a kind if intimidating woman, and very reliable at her jobs.
miku- striped hyena. just an average young escapee living in the undercity, although she doesnt try to blend in very well. ever since she got her hands on some hair dye shes been stubbornly sticking to the faded and grown out color, she thinks shes cool with it. friends with a couple humans who seem completely unbothered by her animal traits
luka- ibex. an escapee from the outer city workshops who decided to move to the undercity... and never really settles down anywhere. she likes to wander from place to place, experiencing the great expanse of the city from its depths. shes got her favorite places to come back to, but more than anything, shes always on the move to see something new.
kaito and the kagamines are humans (the kagamines are mikus human friends!) which is why theyre not here 👍
and thats everyone! apologies this is a monster of a post, but i hope youve enjoyed reading. and hopefully its semi coherent lol
