we want characters and their actions to be relatable and realistic and we want them to be more decisive and stronger and make better choices than we would in their shoes, which sometimes looks like we see them as interchangeable pieces of digital meat. "why is she so hung up on this loser when he keeps hurting her while there's this sweet other guy who is so good to/for her?" countless variations of this in countless posts and comments for every other show with any hint of romance in the plot. "it's only because he's the male lead". no, it's not. i mean, yes, of course it's because he's the male lead. and it's also because she's human. because that sweet other guy is not this guy. because she loves this loser who hurts her and who may be an asshole or may be hurting too. because they are all a little or a lot broken inside. because there was no one in their life to teach them how to do this properly. maybe they will learn. maybe they won't. maybe they'll keep hurting each other, maybe they'll move on to hurt someone else. but of course we want to see realistic life but not exactly real life. we want better. lie to me. the good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and we always defeat them and save the day. no one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after. liar. yeah. i know.
... did i say relatable and realistic? oh no, forget that. you know how when you haven't experienced something or, like, seen it really up close, it's not actually real? yeah. jk of course we are empathetic. to a point. "but what's so hard about just asking her out, what's the worst that can happen? she's gonna say no? it's not the end of the world!" um, yeah, for this guy the attempt itself might feel like a fight of his life and rejection exactly like the end of the world. honey, i love your confidence and self-esteem but not so much how you think that if you have been like this since you were three years old everybody who isn't deserves your frustration and, let's face it, contempt. you don't see me foaming at the mouth waiting for you to make decisions that take me split second, do you?
every time he watches season 2 of Detective Anna, Sch., endlessly frustrated by Shtolman's secretiveness and Anna's pain, sighs: "if only Klyuyev didn't end up cuckoo (and dead, i usually add, don't forget dead)... he is a much better match for her, young, handsome, intelligent, rich, progressive. imagine their children!" she doesn't love him, you see, i say patiently over and over again, she can't turn that off and turn this on, she loves this old guy who went missing for five years and never tells her anything, okay? yeah. he knows. he just wants better for her, like her mama. he also knows that if characters always listened to common sense like we want them to, a lot of people wouldn't watch them being sensible. and that if real people always listened to common sense, i could be having this or an entirely different conversation with someone else.
fictional people, i'm setting you free of myself and my expectations
be stupid, be irresponsible, be assholes, be doormats, be angry and irrational, be dependent, be sick, be toxic, be whatever we allow ourselves and other real people to be because we are not watching the big picture of our lives on a screen
but
yeah try to be happy in the end
we are trying too
not all of us succeed
but god we are trying

Vedic Astrology Observation (based on shows/films part 6)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rewatching "Nevertheless" and yes Song Kang's character here is definitely more Ketu than Solar. His Solar nakshatra characters are seen in "My Demon", "Love Alarm". He specifically channels his Uttara Phalguni Moon in the kdrama My Demon especially, and his love interest is also an Uttara Phalguni. But in "Nevertheless", it is a whole nother nakshatra lord influence.
Tumblr media
The reason why I changed my mind on what energy he is channeling the most is because of Claire Nakti's Ketu Dominant Men video. He fits some of the negative descriptions.
Tumblr media
Every time a woman interacts with a Ketu man, she's so energetically and subconsciously pulled in by him (as is everyone), that she thinks she's gaining something from the experience but she leaves realizing how much she's depleted herself into him. But she's so subconsciously pulled in that she keeps coming back every time.
Tumblr media
Ketuvians are not necessarily known for being givers unless there's some other placement. But the emotions and excitement they evoke in others makes those people think they're receiving energy, when actually its their own energy shaking up and being extracted from them.
Tumblr media
This character will play into his magnetism, pull people in, then they'll realize they're one of the many he subconsciously (sometimes even deliberately) pulls energy from. Since Ketu wants to absorb everywhere, it makes sense seeing him breadcrumbing and stringing the female lead along while he keeps his numbers of chasers in his pockets (this trait is exaggerated in them being cult leaders or them liking to maintain large followings to extract more energies (again, sometimes they don't do this intentionally. look at magha native michael jackson's effortless effect on others)). Another reason why I think he's channeling his Ashwini Sun the most is because of his fear of commitment. Although it's more apparent in Ashwini women, the wild horse here doesn't want to settle down ever. His overall detachment to such things, the story leaving him mysterious (despite the ending) because we never go into his depths but we rather see him be this attractive sucking void that eventually becomes sickening to other women he strung along... The difference is, though Solar men can be womanizers, women often gain status and validation in association with them. With Ketu men, nothing much is gained, which is why they eventually become frustrating to women who'll then walk away.
Tumblr media
Another obvious thing, Ketuvians are mostly seen in spiritual spaces, learning about history or being into research, getting into interesting underground subcultures, and especially the arts. He "falls in love" (I don't believe that for one bit but sure) with a Vishakha Sun, Bharani Moon – Vishakha women dominate the arts and Bharani being a Venus nakshatra makes sense for her artistry.
Tumblr media
Being Jupiterian, she's quite meek and relatable. I believe the actress was channeling Vishakha, as its a nakshatra about transformation, and I believe her purpose in this story is finally standing up for herself to break free from the pattern of reliving a situation. But because of polarity, Ketu and Jupiter will always be drawn to each other. The best match for Ketu men is no one, in my humble opinion, though. They usually don't care about that anyway unless there's something to gain. They're quite similar to Ketu women. I've seen them be their best version with Ketu women. I could name a few examples of Ketu dynamics in fiction which don't have this exploitative aspect that Jupiter x Ketu pairings (platonic or not) usually do. There is a quiet understanding between the Ketu characters and a natural inclination to protect one another without even getting close, because of this unspoken connection they have. Such as in "Sweet Home", where Song Kang channels his Ketu energy yet again.
Tumblr media
He is drawn to the inwardly conflicted Magha Moon native Go Min-si. And due to his isolation, their connection isn't reliant on constant interactions, instead there is something there that's pulling them together in Season 1. In the later seasons, their protection of each other is more explored as their connection deepens through this horror story; his protection becoming a major aspect of their relationship. And because of the genres Ketuvians usually find themselves in, its rarely seen that these intense connections turn into some romantic endgame.(Ketuvians are the least likely planetary influence to be found in Romance, rather it's the Jupiterians, Saturnians and sometimes Solar natives. Instead, Ketu natives tend to be typecasted in the Thriller/Horror/Dark Fantasy genres).
youtube
In the same drama, there's another Ketu pairing between a mysterious contract killer and former detective (Ketu characters commonly being detectives) and a healer (also related to Ketu/the Ashwini Kumaras). He immediately grows protective of her and even dies protecting her. Their connection was almost instant and just as short-lived before death did them part (there always seems to be a theme of separation in these nodal/Ketu pairings). But she remains unforgettable as he becomes haunted by her even after death. (Ghosts = Ketu).
Tumblr media
youtube
In the kdrama "Save Me", there's another Ketu-Ketu connection in them playing protectors of each other. The Ketu male characters find themselves tied back to a Ketu girl. They are all tied by some kind of destiny that pulls them back to when they met. Despite the gap between them, this undeniable connection has them teaming up to save her from a cult.
Tumblr media
And, interesting enough, the cult leader who cruelly exploits the Ketu woman, and everyone else in his cult, is played by a Ketu native.
Tumblr media
This powerful, subconscious connection between Ketuvians (in these fictional depictions) is so interesting as the characters usually keep at a distance from each other initially, never having to get close to feel each other — the connection is just naturally present. I specifically caught this when I rewatched the film "Through My Window", starring two Ketuvians.
Tumblr media
The Ashwini native here has an odd fixation on the Mula native. She stalks him and observes him from afar without ever getting close enough to meet him. But then when he catches her, a scene in the graveyard, he makes her aware that he knows. He would know that she's been engrossed in him (note, he also has Punarvasu Sun; Ketu x Jupiter strikes again, but his approach to her and their interactions are primarily Ketu x Ketu as he invades into her life (persistently stealing her WiFi connection, sneaking into her room whenever he wants), he strings her along and just like Ashwini native Song Kang in Nevertheless, we see him stringing along other female characters etc.). As Ketuvians are so in tune with the energies within themselves, they'd notice if someone were extracting energy from them on a subconscious level. His intuition (which led him into her life essentially), and her Ketu tendencies of absorbing him from afar, already tell us how Ketu would interact amongst itself. I could think of another stalking dynamic between two Ketuvians, from "Marvel's Jessica Jones".
Tumblr media
The Ashwini here is yet again obsessed with the Mula native. He used his superpowers to force her to be in a relationship with him and even after she escapes from his clutches, he means to regain his control over her to prove that she can love him willingly; yet again trying to drain her (very important to note that she also has Purva Bhadrapada ASC (Ketu yet again draining Jupiter)).
In the film "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" starring two Ashwini natives, we see these characters form an unconventional bond – both having deep intrigue for each other, before developing this strong urge to look out for one another. It's not romantic, lacking that Venusian quality of connection we usually see. Instead it's very rare, complex, and created in darker or unconventional circumstances (literally all these Ketuvians bond amidst chaos or some unusual circumstance).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It always seems as if almost every Ketu character drawn to each other can't just have a long-lasting "relationship". Even trying to reduce their indescribable connection to a mundane romantic relationship doesn't do them justice. Ashwini natives aren't typically relationship-orientated, anyway.
Usually a romance between Ketuvians in fiction can be depicted as ethereal, intense and just as short-lived, such as in the film "Meet Joe Black". A love that is shown to transcend time and reality, and so temporary and fleeting.
Tumblr media
The film needs an analysis of its own as it stars three Mula natives as its leads. But Ketu here reminds us how fleeting existence is. The Mula Sun native playing Death himself, in parallel to how Ketu can drain and take important things or people away. Death is drawn to a double Ketuvian woman, who happens to be the daughter of the man he is taking away to the afterlife.
Tumblr media
The Ketu woman is specifically drawn to his mystery and his innocence, sensing something off about him yet being pulled in by his innocent mysticism. A very bittersweet relationship develops between them that has this looming reality that he is not human and something inevitably heartbreaking is soon to take place. Very much getting into 8H themes, unsurprising as Ketu co-rules the 8H.
Here's the most Ketu "non-romantic" pairing edit with such 8H themes.
youtube
God I love them sm.
Also, going back to "Sweet Home", I just realized a prominent Ketu aspect. Claire Nakti's Mula/Ketu explorations mainly revolved around Ketuvians being unafraid of beasts and being the main planetary influence that is often seen in roles where they tame monsters, being the only human to see which creatures (no matter how hideous and ugly on the outside) are actually innocent.
The beauty-&-beast dynamic between Casey and Kevin, played by two Ashwini natives, in Glass, reminds me of the dynamic between Hyun soo (Ashwini) and Eun yoo (Magha).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Ashwini pair, much like the Ashwini pair in "Sweet Home" (the detective and the healer/doctor), inevitably separate from 8H circumstances.
These characters below, in Sweet Home Season 2 & 3, are the main ones to embody this Mula archetype – even though they're trine nakshatras. This further validates Go Min-si being Magha Moon, as she's the only one who sees the humanity in Ashwini Sun Song Kang's monstrous character (the 2 edits i linked of them literally explore this beauty-&-the-beast trope of Ketu fantastically).
Tumblr media
On the left is the soldier played by Ashwini Moon Oh-seong Yu who, despite his tough exterior, has a soft spot for these monsters which makes him a threatening outlier in the team. Damn only if Claire Nakti added kdramas to her explorations too, she'd find more nakshatra archetypes! But honestly I appreciate her work so much because I'm able to spot influences she touched on in my favourite medias.

send🍒 for nice words >:) ( accepting ) — whoever sent this, ilu
anon, you're so goated 4 this. gotta crack my hand knuckles and brain knuckles for this because WHEW....... i do have that many folks i'd love to yap about in no particular order. also, this is so long — that's my only warning ❤️️
🍒 @desalvar idc if we've only written 1 thing together. i don't care if we haven't chatted an exuberant amount. i'm here to say i love nik sm and i love how passionate you are about him. those hcs i see floating around? eat them up instantly. i cannot wait to yap and explore more no matter how long it takes!!!!!!
🍒 @interxstitial YAINT SLICK. I SAW THAT OTHER ASK SO I MUST PUT YOU ON BLAST about how much i've come to cherish you. fr fr i haven't hehe'd haha'd with a relatively newish mutual this fast in a Long time. but you take the cake. the entire bakery, even. the way you just... okay, look, i said it literally when i first imed you, but your verses are so CHEFS KISS GOOD. THE WAY YOU WRITE IS SO INCREDIBLY GOOD. JIWON AS A ENTIRE CHARACTER IS SO SENSATIONAL.
you're so silly, he's so silly, we're all so silly together. the marked literally became a whole ass community because of your enthusiasm. it genuinely encouraged me to not hold back and continue to yap about all of their stupid nuanced dynamics. and the way we have soooooo many threads together, but they all feel different? juniper's just babey!!!! he's the marked's babey!!!!! don't even get me started on ravi.... i did not think anyone would pick him up by the scruff and hang onto that bro frat man bro. hes so ridiculous but you RAN WITH IT AND WE KEPT SPRINTING. you're amazing, i'm so so happy i followed you all those months ago ❤️️❤️️❤️️❤️️
🍒 @gollldrush okay, not going to lie. you're currently an inspiration for my writing. there, i said it. you're so well-rounded with so many genres — like how can you write the most visceral angst, fluff, action, and eerily atmospheric threads? hello? i'm knocking on your blog door, teach me?????? i absolutely adore leo and ellory both SO much. but the way you write rilen specifically has me fascinated.
also, not to mention, it's a field day to chat with you in the best way possible. you're SO nice and you, too, have contributed greatly to the inner dynamics of the marked. i can't wait to see what other shenanigans we come up in the future ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
🍒 @justsurvival KEVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gosh. DARN. sorry if this comes across as too much, but i was so incredibly excited to see you back. would also like to thank the stars for aligning, because i literally got flashbacks to hatsune miku ORYN THE OTHER DAY OUT OF NOWHERE? the picture... haunts me....... anyways. you're a phenomenal writer across the board. you're so fun to chat with and your creativity's off the fucking charts. when i said i couldn't pick who to write a starter for, i meant it. the concepts are all so GOOD it amkes me ( wails on the floor )
🍒 @cordoliae vic, this is my official appreciate blog post tweet story. i cannot for the life of me... even begin to explain / do justice to how wonderful you are. like, as a person AND a writer — i am bowing down at the steepest degree. your writing is TOP TIER and it has influenced my writing so, so much. a lot of the prosier things i type has 10000% been from our earlier threads where mister no-good chanyeol plonked himself in baby jail to bother THE love his life 💗
also, idk if i've ever told you this but i got into botw because of you. like off to the sidelines, i got that game to relive some nostalgia and try to understand that world more and got dunked into getting lost in everything for an eternity. i would also like to POINT OUT that your understanding of ANY canon you write floors me. vincenzo? that's quite literally him pulled from the kdrama itself. BONGGIL? THAT'S HIM DIRECTLY FROM THE SCREEN ITSELF — ACTUALLY? I would like to also point out how ecstatic i was when you reached out about mutually loving exh.uma. i quite literally haven't tunneled that fast before, and while my focus is severally scattered right now — the best shamans are still in my brain. also, you're one of the 3 people that got me into op, so thank you sm for that ♡♡
🍒 @huntershowl ( kicks thru the wall big bird style ). raine... you.. i cannot describe everything i adore about you, but i sure can try. let's get the obvious out of the way, alright? seph, the creature that you are........ fantastic.. feral..... so for real with the cards you've been dealt............. i want to dub you and seph as THE ones that got me to progress jie so much. also litho HELLO? NOT TO DRAG THAT BEATEN HORSE BACK IN but i'm so serious when i say this, he's like so close to being a single ship with seph. highkey the reason why he only crawls out of his stupid cave when seph's around. it still might end up happening, but either way — the influence and sheer devotion and love he has for seph clocks me over the head every single time.
NOW FOR THE NEWERISH DEVELOPMENT. i might not be immersed in jj.k and only have a pinky toe dipped into wb / bn.ha BUT i know you're taking everything and everyone by storm. anytime i see one of your posts about anxiety ( which is so totally understandable ), i'd like to try and reassure you that there's an entire group of folks that love and adore your version of canons and ocs. and if anyone else tries to muck around like a fucking buffoon, i'll send a mathematical plague upon them i s2g
🍒 @xinxiins this is my confession.... not featuring usher, hi, it's just me. i'm clearing out the entire room to say that you have reconnected jie with his culture and i am so forever grateful for that. his slice of life verse version is currently hibernating, but i Did Not Forget about our yapping and immersion in a community he so desperately wanted to be a part of. and as someone that's also struggled with that connection, i thank you so so so SO much from the bottom of my heart. it's truly so incredibly special to have experienced that, and i hope to continue that in the future!!!!!!!!!!!! ALSO, YOUR WRITING IS BREATHTAKING. I FEEL LIKE THAT'S A GIVEN BUT I HAVE TO SAY IT ANYWAYS. AND YOU'RE A GEM TO TALK TO ❣❣❣❣❣❣❣
🍒 @fangmother don't mind me scooting on by, but hi, yes, hello. i know we recently started to interact, but a) love the way you write b) love the lore you have surrounding rainer b.1) i was so immersed reading up on her bio / verses — like, truly, thank you for the meal c) cannot wait to explore more dynamics because already, i'm buckled up for more replies and will eventually reach out just to yap yap yap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🍒 @miidnighters brodie.... 100 golden stars for you. just.. gosh..... i can say with full confidence, i will never tire of your characters ever. i don't care if we have a million dynamics with the x amount of characters i have. i still want more!!!!!!!!! you're so talented. honestly very inspirational. idr if i told you this before, but you are also 100000% part of the reason why i got so involved with the marked. OH? ALSO? LETS NOT FORGET HARBORVIEW TOO? before the marked consumed me BUT HELLO???? FLYNN IS HARBORVIEW'S COLLECTIVE GROWN MAN BUT ALSO BABEY. ahem, anyways, i've learned so many new things about my own characters because of our interactions. and i always, always wish the best for you / am so grateful we're pals.
🍒 @catfcng going to be so fr, idk most of the fandoms you run with but i want to ( eventually )!!!!!!!!!! there's just something so captivating with the way you write and bring attention to your characters in the best way possible. also? your blog's entire aesthetic is So Good. i hope to write more with you and will always cheer loudly from the sidelines !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cha cha CHIA!
Girl we going Islam-
🐸Neptune just has to rule over kpop. I mean think about all the use of illusions, talk about love/relationships and the way the fans act like... Fanatics.
🌹If not Neptune, then Uranus. The fans, even the industry itself, having really unpredictable behaviours is a key part of it. Also how it managed to (currently) revolutionize the view on East Asians(mainly Koreans) and the boost to technology due to rapid changes in the country and music.
🐸The Koreas are ruled by Leo. And in no way, shape, or form am I surprised. It's the way South Korea isn't known for idk Samsung (technology) but Kpop, Kdramas/film (arts). So yes Leo and the 5th house make sense as the country ruling because that's what made it truly famous/globally recognized. For the North, they stay in the news mainly due to technological changes and political happenings rather than any cultural/art based things like the South. Both very famous but for opposite reasons.
🐸I'm more convinced Venus rules over classical music over Saturn. Yes Saturn is related to time and strictness. Yet if you listen to classical music it's more about expressions of beauty or lack of.
🌹You could argue that Mars could even rule over it due to the tempos used in most classical songs. They were meant to express the ideas of the time and hence their popularity is mainly with those from the time period OR those looking to see what it was like. (And yes the 1700-1900s were a very.... Interesting time)
🐸Germany is ruled by Aries, again not surprised. Yes it became infamous after WW1, the aggressiveness (Martian) shown is what more people remember it for rather than the arts (Venusian traits). Many painters, composers and even scientists come from Germanic countries but war/aggression is somehow the only thing people remember.
🐸Dracula gives off Virgo vibes. Very critical. A clean freak. Only enjoys the finest things in life and not willing to give up, especially if someone else is the reason why. Very timey.
🐸As much as I'm on Aquarian heads, I feel like Aquarius celebrities show the most human like qualities. I mean they the type to get upset normally, talk as if they don't have large platforms and be generally very open with their lives/fans. They don't follow what it means to be a celebrity but what it means to be a human.
🐸Ever since Jupiter went direct I've been having the most vivid dreams. Like my intuition is a lot better and it's easier for me to explain things. Only issue is I'm more prone to lucid dreaming (especially since it's naturally in my 1st house)
🐸During Saturn retrograde I struggled with feelings of uselessness (more than usual). My natal Saturn is retrograde, however this time around it hit me really hard. It did ultimately push me to stop victimizing myself and get a job.
🐸Jupiter in the first house can also make someone hyper independent. Meaning the person could need help and not ask for it because the ego would rather struggle than be perceived as weak.
🐸Neptune retrograde shouldn't exist. That's it. No observation. Just a statement
🐸Scorpio Venus tend to have better relationships with those of a different age/age group than them. The house can hint to why that is
🐸Venus doms might like fashion from different time periods and/or more soft fashion styles from the current time. Bonus if Saturn and/or Neptune is touch it (regardless of aspects)
🌹I love roccoco dresses so much and Saturn does have a hard aspect with my Venus while Neptune has a soft.
🐸People dominated by more "positive" planets tend to be more egotistical than those with "malignant" planets as their doms.
🐸However people with "malignant" planets as their doms tend sit in negativity longer than those without them.
🪢All in all you either broody or an egomaniac.
🐸The fame degrees backfire more than they actually "help". Anyone with more than 2 had their fair number of struggles and more.
🐸I think the fame degrees are less about achieving fame and more about learning about how societies perceive and treat certain traits. You might be easily recognized for the planet(s) that hold your fame degree(s), yet you are also heavily shunned for actually displaying the planet(s) behavior.
🐸Because I crave stability I tend to favor cardinal signs the most. They represent active change (not begin like the mutables or ending like the fixed). That's mainly due to my chart either being mutable or fixed dom (tropical vs sidereal/Vedic). I want what isn't naturally present in my chart.
🐸Apparently I love Virgo, Scorpio and Aquarian artist. Aquarius for their uniqueness. Scorpio for their emotions. Virgo for their lyricism/word play.
🐸I love how my chart is a walking contradiction. I'm watery with fire houses OR airy with earth houses. No I can't make a decision without thinking on it for five months and just waking up to do it one random day.
🐸Your dominant house(s) can definitely show the people you go after/ the ones that approach you the most.
🌹I get approached by people of different backgrounds/older folks a lot. (10th and 9th house ruled)
🐸You know what's interesting... The fact we have entered the Age of Aquarius and the countries ruled by it are act like complete asses or being shown to the world in a different light. Iran is (just now) being talked about for its Islamist views (Side note Islamist and Muslims/Islam are not synonymous. One is a political ideology the other is a religion). Russia literally wants to fight the whole world. People discovered what Sri Lanka is (and no it's not "India but an Island"). Sweden and Finland both got exposed for being trash with transatlantic slavery and oil money. I could keep going but all the countries ruled by Aquarius are struggling in some way or form.
🐸We just left the age of Pisces. Of course that means I have to speak on the (recent)political happenings of it too. The issue over Jerusalem got highlighted. Egypt had about 5 revolutions in the 2010s alone. The rest of North Africa went through so much political upheaval, I'm pretty sure we won't recover for a hot minute. Scandinavia showed how many neonazis could exist on one part of the planet and how not to treat Indigenous people. The Portuguese Royal Family fell off and the government went broke(r).
(If you learned something new or would just like to support me you can leave a wittle tip via the tip button or one of the links in my masterlist. Kofi: nymphdreams🧸)

My opinion on the whole coming out issue,
I just want to start with a quote from a kdrama I recently watched. I'm sure some of you have watched it, it's called Business Proposal. Basically there's a whole sub-narrative about a "hidden relationship"
Episode 10 from Kang Tae moo "Who cares, I am just hugging my girlfriend. I can't wait for the entire world to know about us"
Knowing Jungkook has watched it too, I really wonder what did he feel hearing this, but it really gave me the "Keep on being jealous, I will keep holding my Jiminie" vibe.
This brings me to GCFs. The videos are surely an avenue for Jungkook to express his feelings to the world. And I am one of those who believe GCF Tokyo was a statement. I wasn't here when it came out, but I've heard a lot of people at that time thought this was a coming out. I mean, even until now, when we look at the comment section, a lot of strangers/non bts fans think it's a cute couple travel video. This just says a lot about how unbiased people perceive the video. GCF Saipan was a subtle statement too. It's no coincidence that out of all members, only Jimin appeared along the lines "I don't wanna lie no more, I don't wanna hide no more".
For those reasons alone, I don't think they want to hide forever. They are doing it now simply because they have no choice, due to the current climate. Yes, coming out is a risk and it can impact the other members and their careers, but you know what? Everyone in the industry is in the same boat here. Every idol face huge risks whenever a relationship is revealed. Whether it's straight or gay. We have all witnessed the many scandals in the past. And it is bound to happen to BTS members too. Them being under the biggest spotlight in Korea for years and years to come. Plus they won't be able to keep up with the "I am innocent, single, and I will marry army' narrative forever. In the future, if ever one of the member's relationship comes to light, I believe the other members will follow too. They will take the bullet together as a group. Plus, they are so big now. They have nothing to loose. A scandal here and there will never break them. Their huge international fanbase benefits them, simply because I feel like we are much more accepting in terms of dating scandals and lgbt+ issues. Also their whole vibe right now is shifting to "idgaf anymore about what people will think"
Change is coming! I may sound too much of a utopist right now, but I really believe that in the future we'll be able to see all of the members enjoy their life with their respective partners happily, freely without having the burden to hide and lie. Regardless of their orientation.
Another one from the vault.
Like deep deep in the back of the vault.
Doing some Spring cleaning in Autumn...
Kind of strange looking at these words in May 2023. With hiatus, solo debuts, almost no ot7 content and even less Jikookery.
I guess the climate, the SM purchase debacle, enlistment, all had an impact on them.
You were talking, anon, about a member in a relationship and it getting out... well, we saw how that's going for Tae, haven't we? Given, he hasn't admitted to it yet, but man, even before he has parts of this fandom (and another one to remain unnamed) went feral.
I have talked about them 'coming out' many times. My opinion being that they won't, not fully that is, not announcing "we're a couple". Not to say that I don't wish that one day we all live in a world where they can do that and will do that without having to worry about their safety, their livelihood, their families.
But that day is not here yet.
What I do see though, especially now after JM's folio and Face and JK struggling so so hard to not throw it all to the wind scream "fuck it all" and shout it out loud for all to hear, is that as of where they are to date, and unless anything drastic happens between now and their discharge from the military, things will change after they get out.
They might not say things out loud, but they definitley won't be holding back as much. Definitely not as much as they are now, and not as much as they were even going back to 2021-2022 (LV Jikook).
You said "change is coming".
Sadly, after that change did come, but not for the better.
What I'm hoping for is for good change to come as soon as they have this hump called MS off their backs.
We know they will have a lot to say and do, changes will be made... AFTER (sadly, we know this by RM's privacy being breached).
So, we will sit here patiently, us supporters, the people that love JK and JM separately and together, the people that love BTS, their music, what they stand for and the members as individuals as well, and hope that by mid 2025 we will get to see them all on the other side of this fuckery.

The Eighth Sense; a tiny post-finale ink spilling session (spoilers included)
Hello, first boy love kdrama I've ever watched. I started watching this with zero expectations and a huge dark cloud above my head. Cloud being this worry whether or not the ending would give me a major heartache. Well, even if it had, I wouldn't mind at all.
Tumblr media
Finale made us all feel safe and calm, I'm pretty sure of that. But! If you haven't watched this one already, then get ready for a wild ride. The series is heartbreaking, the entire fandom was not well, not until the very end. Every single person who truly enjoyed this drama and saw their own reflection in one of the two main characters - I'm so sorry (╥﹏╥)
T8S is about student life, new cities, friendships, relationships, emotional complexity, inner battles, depression, bravery, justice, moral, love, survival mode, desperation, devotion, guilt, overcoming mental obstacles, acceptance...
Tumblr media
Just like linear algebra. It isn't just a cute romantic drama, even though our main hero Jihyun is incredibly cute, romantic character. He's one of those you'd wish to meet irl. Or one of those who make you want to become fictional, whatever works better.
Jihyun is a lovely ray of sunshine and the filming crew makes it clear to all the viewers throughout the entire show. He's introduced as an important piece which lights up the whole space and whose lack of presence gives you withdrawal symptoms. And no, that's not an overexaggeration.
Then we have Jaewon. It might seem like Jaewon is the one who pulls people in his orbit, but if you watch carefully enough, soon it becomes very clear that's actually not the case. People surrounding him are extremely vain and value him for his family's social status, nothing more, nothing less. The only time we see him shine is when he's reflecting lovely rays of sunshine and then we get this dim, mellow, soft illumination. A lot like moonlight, right? And for it's very nature, all that's required to turn its light off are a few dense night clouds.
Tumblr media
So many lines this character delivers are in fact extremely realistic. However, behind their simplicity there are hidden many complex thoughts. Obviously, having a big heart also means carrying an excessive amount of burden too. I find his fight with depression faithfully depicted. His mental state after a loss or seemingly irreversible damage such deep trauma does to a human psyche can't just disappear, even with the passage of time.
Superficial relationships (as in general relationships with other people, not only intimate/romantic kind) don't help at all, on the contrary. They can't cure one's solitude or feelings of isolation and in fact might even lead to acts of desperation. One does start thinking like something is very wrong with them, which, again, leads to accepting whatever life throws at them, good or bad, without taking any action. Pushing oneself towards being numb. Because numbness and indifference, even if it's only "fake it till you make it" , oftentimes seems like the only effective way of self-perseverance.
What caught my attention is that mindset, that shadow which keeps lurking and following Jaewon the entire time. It keeps him convinced that he's not allowed to feel any true happiness and heartfelt joy, and if he does he has to pay a huge price for it. But it gets even better. Not only does he pay the price, but those involved have to pay, as well, now tenfold.
I can't keep wondering if it's universal experience. It certainly seems so. Sure, it all depends on the point of view; it takes all sorts to make a world. But it's interesting how severe accidents always happen and if you've ever lost a dear person before, you can't help but take the blame for all the bad things happening afterwards. As someone who has chosen the path of self-destruction once, it's interesting watching Jaewon coming back to his senses, choosing a person he cares for in the end and not allowing his fears to rule his life. It's very brave, getting back with Jihyun. I think it's the bravest thing he did.
That's why this is fiction and why it's right and well done in so many ways. Let's be honest, there's not many people who've led tragedy-free, accidents-free, loss-free lives. Especially if they're Jaewon's age (or older).
I believe that people who go through severely traumatic events, events which alter their psyche for 180°, won't really go through their recovery journey all the way. We see it with Jaewon as well. The dread of that shadow I've described above doesn't really go away easily, even after a conversation/therapy sessions with a person you deeply trust/professional. It's a paralyzing feeling which can stuck to a person for years. Thing that is not addressed (at least not directly), which I believe exists even in this work of fiction, is Jaewon's dread towards surfing and the ocean, since that's where the accident took place. Is there any therapist who could've helped him with that and make him go surfing just like before? I think not. There's always this distinctive reverence towards places which made a person lose their mind.
Tumblr media
“And when you're ready, think about what to do next. I really want to protect him. But for now, I think this is for the best.”
For some, this is just a 10 episodes long bl story, cute, packed with angst, followed by an idyllic happy end. For some it's a blah, "really nothing to see here", shallow story of some college kids. For some this is an exploration journey of their own insecurities, challenges, smaller internal battles which seem like the worst thing in the entire world at the moment. For some, it's staring at a mirror which tells a story of what would have happened if they actually went to therapy, had a supportive partner and let go of unhealthy coping mechanisms. And for some it's just their journey right there on screen. Oh, and the group I must not leave out, since they are the most important ones here: the artists - the backbone of The Eighth Sense fandom. I can't say how they look at this piece because their analyses leave me completely speechless. There's plenty of their wonderful texts all around this platform, and they're fairly easy to find as well.
Tumblr media
Still, how certain content finds its audience, and not the other way around is beyond me. Thank you🌻 to the one who recommended this piece, even if they don't like hearing thank yous and compliments of any kind. This kdrama piece was much needed in my little universe.
There's still so much to say about this drama, but maybe it's best not to go overboard. It would be a delight to see how life is going for our protagonists after some time. Who knows, maybe fans talk screenwriters into preparing another season. (no matter how unlikely it seems right now). Well ... That's all from me for now. Have a lovely day, it's finally spring so I hope you get to enjoy some sun. For me, I'm super excited may is right around the corner (✿ ♡‿♡)
Till next time,
Pluto

hiii, my lovely. i'm so sorry for not speaking for a few days, christmas is really hard for me because of people close to me not being here and i was really down these last few days </3 but i'm okay, feeling a bit better <3 i hope you're okay :)
she's honestly the best, i'd be lost without her i think </3 you & your mum sound so so cute i want to hug both of you :(((
honestly, it never made any sense to me haha, and i'd never learn from my mistake, "oh i'll sleep early tonight," like, no you won't, future heather, how dare u lie
it's very very VERY obvious in ive right now, i think even people who don't stan ive can see the favouritism in that group. i love ive, i think their music is amazing and so so catchy. love dive is such a BOP but when they first started performing eleven live, the company/stylists were not putting all of the girls in the same outfits, like they were veeeery clearly putting wonyoung in other clothes to stand out more </3 even though they don't do it as much anymore, you can still see & feel how they favour her more than the other members (and that's not her fault at all). i just want those girls to have equal love <3
i feel like with seventeen you don't really see any kind of favouritism (unless there is and i'm blind). i do feel like lately they are loved all of the same (though i do wish people would love seungkwan more, he's the literal loml hi)
you are so sweet, thank you <3 i love u bruno give mal credit
i haven't watched any kdramas yet as i have been sticking to criminal minds.......of course. halfway through season ten now! i also rewatched wednesday.....again.......
speaking of kdramas, have you watched business proposal? it's on netflix and it's so so good <3 so funny as well.
i have a mental list of 98473 shows i said i was gonna watch but haven't seen any of them
despite the fact that i was nervous as heck throughout this whole event, you've been nothing but kind to me and i just *screams internally* you're precious 💖 also !!!! i will be happy to send cat photos whenever, if you need/want them, i will get off my lazy butt and take photos of toffee & luna for you <333
hi love 💞 it's ok :) i do understand how stressful/tiring the holiday season can be 💔 but at the same time, you don't have to apologize for anything. i appreciate you making continuous effort to come and talk to me 💗
i love that we both are lucky enough to have amazing moms! the way you describe your mom is super sweet and i'm so happy you have a strong bond with her 💓 my mom has officially invited you to our group hug 🫶 you can use that card whenever you feel sad/stressed/in need of a hug 💘
i can see what you mean with the wonyoung favouritism. i haven't followed ive that closely but i can still see how the company tends to put a little bit more effort in promoting her rather than other members. i hope the other girls get the same amount of love in the future 💕
consider yourself an influencer because you turned me into a boohive 💝 i'm on a roll today with my puns wow i mean you could talk about him better than me but one of the main reasons i like him is because even when i wasn't a carat, i knew how sweet he was with others. every single interaction with another idol, he was always funny/kind/welcoming. i've laughed so many times thanks to him so yeah, all in all, in seungkwan we trust 💟 i know he's basically the host of most (if not all) svt games but if he ever joined a variety show, he'll outshine everyone there 💓 not only is he funny, he's also super respectful of others so you know he makes fun of someone just for fun and not because he's a hater
the siren calls of wednesday are too strong for userhev i fear 💔 good luck with finishing criminal minds (with a rewatch of wednesday between each season of course hehe)
no i haven't had the time to watch business proposal :( i have seen a few scenes and it really seems like a good kdrama. and i've wanted to watch a kdrama with sejeong in it so it's the perfect opportunity to do so ^^
98473 shows seems like the number of shows i've also wanted to watch but still didn't begin lol
it makes me super happy to know i was able to make you comfortable during this event 💖 i try to make my blog a safe space for anyone, so that means i try to make every comfortable talking to me. i'm also very shy & awkward but i'm trying my best to make others feel welcome 🫶 so tysm for the big compliment <3
and please do share more toffee & luna pics 💟 my daughters (they're both girls right?) are so precious and beautiful and talented (at being cute and sleepy) 💝 what is there not to like about them?

Ooooooo share the webcomics you have the best taste
you flatter me!!! and yes, ofc!! so this list is gonna be a combo of webcomics AND mangas because I've started reading new mangas that deserve love and attention as well. unlike my previous list, many of these webcomics and mangas may be nsfw, I'll mark the ones that are like that. also, i won't be including links for these because i don't want to spread the website that i use because it's illegal. but you should be able to find all of these if you entire the titles into google!
Semantic Error by Jeosuri, NSFW: i talk about this nonstop and i think my friends are tired of me talking about it. probably the best enemies to friends to lovers piece i've ever read. the build up to them getting along is paced perfectly in my opinion, the developing of feelings is also great, AND THERE'S A KDRAMA?!? yeah, yeah, read it. yeah please
The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window by Yamashita Tomoko: I never cried so much until I read this manga. like, i was honestly on the FLOOR reading this!! starts off nice and simple before evolving into this giant mess of a thing that shatters your heart. has a cult in it and handles the trauma around it fairly well ( or at least i think so ). the whole topic of trauma is just beautifully written, had me shaking towards the end. i'm still shaking and i finished reading it last week.
Shutline by Kyo Woo, NSFW: now hear me out,,,,, this webcomic??? TOP TIER!!! BABY!!! it's about a gang leader who meets a mechanic and y'all,,,,, this shit has me losing my marbles everytime i read it. shit is wild LIKE TRULY.
Cat Street by Kamio Yoko: written by the woman who made hana yori dango ( boys over flower ) and i promise you!! this is actually good!! LIKE REALLY GOOD!!! deals with a teenager who exiles herself from the entire world after an embarrassing moment that happened as a child. a story about finding yourself, meeting new people, and falling in love with a childhood passion. def my comfort manga.
Jibaku Shounen Hanako-Kun by Aida Iro: i saw a lot of people reading it on youtube and honestly,,, i should've minded my fucking business!! because this damn manga is so sad, like, my heart was breaking while reading it. one of those stories that starts off really cute and sweet before unfolding into this massive plot that has you screaming every chapter.
The Taming of the Shrew by Biai: yes, like Shakespeare's TOTS, follows the same plot but also has its differences. actually really good and Kat is a swordswoman <3 and Petruchio is a major simp. please read it because i loved it so much
As You Wish, Prince by Mokgamgi: TOP TIER!! BEAUTIFUL!!! IN LOVE!!! a writer is kidnapped by the villain of her series because he's upset of how she's written him and made him into this total failure and laughing stock of the kingdom. turns out that he's actually a good guy!! and her heroes??? TOTAL TRASH!! it's completed too so no need to worry about a next update
Red Candy by Hanse, NSFW: idk what's with me and undercover stories,,,, but i love it. a spy who has to pretend to be his target's boyfriend. really good and there's like so many levels to it. corrupt spy organization, major daddy issues, has me on the floor sobbing. i'm just a softie.
Yubisaki to Renren by Suu Moorishita: MY GOD!!! BEAUTIFUL ART!!! BEAUTIFUL WRITING!!! the MC is a hearing-impaired woman and it's genuinely written properly. like the author worked hard to make this very accurate to the community and is careful in capturing JSL ( japanese sign language ). like yes the romance but also!! THE REPRESENATION IN THIS!!! PLEASE READ IT!!!
Tiger, Tiger by Petra Erika Nordlund, NSFW: someone actually recommended this to me and i read it in one sitting. the art style is top tier, in LOVE with the MC and her future husband. the storytelling and world building has me H O O K E D!! please give it a read and make sure to support the author.
Other webcomic and manga recs: Jujutsu Kaisen, Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashi, Runway Hit, Skip to Loafer, Kieta Hatsukoi, Honey Lemon Soda, Love Tractor, Akatsuki no Yona, When the Killer Falls in Love, Actually I was the Real One, Kill the Lights, Here U Are, Spy x Family, Blue Period, Hertz Around You, Raise Wa Tanin Ga Ji, Crush and Burn, Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-Kun ( all one name ), Fools, This Uncle Likes Cute Things, Program Me, Never Understand

Eden's Favorite Fic's (BTS Fic Recs)
Tumblr media
Updated Version: Here!
Note: In the past I haven't indulged in tumblr fics often but I recently (past 3 months) have been reading quite regularly & am planning on branching out a bit. To keep track of the ones that I have enjoyed & the ones that I have even came back to I'm making this list. Again, I haven't been digging into the tumblr fics world for long so for right now its a very short list. I'm hoping with time I can get more fics of different types on here (btsxbts, some gender neutral xreader ones, & more ones that I genuinely like)
About me to understand what's going to be on here:
Age: 21 (99' liner)
Sexuality: Bisexual
Pronouns: She/Her
Ult Bias: Yoongi
Trio: Rap Line
I am OT7. I do enjoy smut but don't think it is necessary to FF. Overall I just want a well-crafted plot that makes sense. I read for entertainment & to escape. But I still need some form of realism (just me personally) to follow the trail of events. PSA: I'm trying to find a broader scope of writers I like but for right now I don't have many. There are gonna be some repetitive writers for now.
______________________________________________________________
Kim Namjoon:
- Librarian Namjoon Universe by @jungshookz
Beauty & the Bookworm (I love this concept SO MUCH)
Pairing: Cute, Good Boy, Nerdy, University Librarian Namjoon x Bratty, Semi-Popular, Procrastinator, University Student Reader
Word count: 20.8k
Summary: You're a procrastinator big time and you may or may not be failing. To get some extra credit you begrudgingly take the library assistant opening where you work under strict dorky Namjoon. Passive aggressiveness, cuteness, fluff, & some smuttiness arises.
Jealous-Boyfriend-Librarian Namjoon (Drabble)
Pairing: Jealous Boyfriend Librarian Namjoon x Oblivious Cute Girlfriend Uni Student Reader
Word count: 3.4k
Summary: You take an Art History Course and end up needing a tutor. Joon offers to tutor you but he doesn't know shit about Art History so you end up getting tutored by an ArtHoe Taehyung that may or may not like you but you are oblivious to this and Joon gets super jealous.
Kim Seokjin:
- Hockey Player Jin by @ve1vetyoongi
HEART OF GOLD (BLADES OF ICE)
Pairing: Sweet Hot New Hockey Player in Town Jin x Ex-Figure Skater (who has a history with jin) Reader
Word count: 20k
Summary: After a fall during figure skating practice dashes your dreams of competing at nationals, you vow to hang up your skates for good. That is until you cross paths with Kim Seokjin, captain of the ice hockey team, who is determined to get you back out on the rink and melt the ice in your heart. (Jimin is a bully in this and their other k-pop idols as characters. Very Very Fluffy and Hallmark Christmas Movie-ish so be aware of that. Overall, it's just cute :) )
Min Yoongi:
Note: these are all but one by the same writer @jungshookz & are written from the pov of a female reader. I'm gonna try to find some gender-neutral fics but for now, if you are female-identifying I really enjoyed these! :)

- Uni Yoongi x Nerdy Reader (mini series) by @jungshookz
Note: these are all drabbles I'm gonna link my favorites in the series. I'll probably add more later.

Word count: 18.4k
Summary: Jungkook is your athletic bro of a best friend that signs you up to be his replacement as the water boy (girl in this case) after he makes the team. You have had a pathetic schoolgirl crush on Yoongi for a while and is basically the only reason you agreed to be the water girl aside from spending time with Jungkook. It's fluffy & smutty!
- Android Yoongi @jungshookz
Technologically in love (..I cried! but I also smiled a lot so you know this is well written)
Pairing: Personal Assistant Prototype but SUPER Lifelike Android Min Yoongi x Messy, Junkfood, & Cartoons Loving Reader (basically your early 20s living alone kind of vibe)
Word count: 24k+
Summary: You live in a Detroit Becoming Human type universe but prior to a lot of the advancements. Androids are already a thing but not to the level the M1N Y00NG1 is yet. Namjoon created Yoongi as a personal assistant prototype android & you are told to live with him. Things get fluffy, SUPER ANGSTY, and super smutty!

- Studio Sex Hoseok by @joonbird
Studio:
Pairing: Boyfriend BTS Hoseok x Girlfriend Reader
Word Count: 5k
Summary: Hoseok is stressed about his upcoming mixtape, so you decide to swing by his studio and help him relax. (Hobi being the beautiful glorious sexy man he is and putting those ungodly hips to use!)
Park Jimin:
- Jimin and His Pregnancy Kink by @boymeetsweevil
ME, YOU, AND THIS THING WE HAVE BETWEEN US (NSFW)
Pairing: Sweet Caring Domestic but Horny Jimin x Pregnant Hormonal Reader
Word count:~3.7k

And one day slowly turns into one week and then into an immeasurable amount of time since you’ve heard his laugh. So on Valentine’s Day, when you’re missing it the most, you beg your neighbor to open up to you with cookies in one hand and two broken hearts in the other.

tagged by lovelies @thedeviousdo @kyungseokie @sooibian , thank you 💕
rules: post 8-9 people you’re very attracted to
bonus: ✨with explanations✨ bc you know I gotta spill
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1) chen from exo, aka kim jongdae: ok literally is anyone surprised...this is the guy I've been tunnel-visioning for two years. sure he's got the personality but it doesn't hurt that he's drop-dead handsome either. he knows what he's got.
2) suho from exo, aka kim junmyeon: also probably no surprises here. he could not be more my type even if he tried. and when he puts the glasses on...let's just say those professor au's do make a compelling point
3) taecyeon from 2pm, aka ok taecyeon: yes he's very good looking but SPECIFICALLY he knew what he was doing when he rolled up his sleeves, turned down the lights, and proceeded to concentrate very hard on those blueprints during the "must" teasers
4) billie piper: ever since I first saw her in "doctor who", I've just been captivated by her! she's gorgeous and incredibly talented to boot - what's not to like?
5) minho from shinee, aka choi minho: flaming ✅ charisma ✅ good with kids ✅ sums it up I think
6) yukika, aka yukika teramoto: the reigning queen of k-citypop is also sooooo very pretty...how do I BE her...
7) hasan minhaj: as a muslim indian-american I've never felt so SEEN by a talk show host like he GETS it!!! making a series about the real issues worldwide that no one else was talking about was sooooo sexy of him pls make another show bro I miss you
8) ned the piemaker from pushing daises, aka lee pace: this show might be fourteen years old at this point but lee pace acting as an adorkably tall sweet pie maker with morally questionable powers is literally all I've ever wanted in life and will want. a la mode please.
9) rani mukerji: ok I don't really follow bollywood but even I know that she is a force to be reckoned with. she is an incredibly talented actress and the way she's built her career is truly attractive and admirable

This is just out of curiosity, why u don't like modern cdramas? 🤔
I've tried a bunch and they just never work for me - I get bored. In my 15 years of watching dramas (14 of them cdramas), I have managed to finish only two modern cdramas - Go Ahead, which I loved and Consummation (no, I don't know why I finished it.)
Back when they made some serious crazy melo like Sealed with a Kiss or Loving Never Forgetting, I thought their melos weren't as well made or made as much sense as kdrama melos. It felt like watching a particularly makjang kdrama (and I am not a fan of makjangs either.)
Later, they decided to make a cult of wholesomeness for a variety of reasons which are a subject to a different discussion, and my interest cratered even further. I don't like fluffy wholesome shows from ANYWHERE.
All the modern cdramas (now that crazy melos are out), seem to be one of the following genres:
* Party Propaganda - For obvious reasons no thanks. Think various dramas about the glories of Chinese prosecutors, military stuff like the upcoming Ace Troops, people electrifying rural areas blah blah blah. Some of them are excellently made and have A-list actors, but I grew up watching Communist propaganda and am full up.
* School coming of age stories - I am too old for most of those especially since they are as toothless as a nonagenerian in the Middle Ages. I don't do fluffy. They never address really serious tensions and massive issues because that would make People's Paradise a little less paradise-like.
* Romcoms - more specifically fluffy, plotless romcoms. Not even faves like Bai Lu and LYX in Love Is Sweet can make that my thing. It's like eating cotton candy and only cotton candy for weeks - awfully unfilling.
* Medical dramas - I don't ever watch them from anywhere
* Family/heartwarming - think Octogenerians in the Nineties. I find it just doesn't click as much with me as kdramas on same topic.
* Sports/eGaming - I find that topic supremely uninteresting whoever does it.
* Thrillers - I check them out sometimes. I checked out Wisher, plan to check out the rest in Light On series. That's more of a "I like them OK but not enough to keep up."
I do confess part of the difficulty with modern cdramas for me, on top of all the stuff I just wrote, is that (as a fellow Russian lover of period cdramas on a Russian language board once put it), it's a lot harder to forget the communism thing in a modern setting. And as someone from where I am, it is a uniquely irritating and enraging topic to me.
ETA: PSA to anyone reading this who wants to come in and yell at me about how I do not understand the glories of communism or w/e, as has happened before. Please don’t bother as I will just delete your ask and block your IP address. If many years of literal communist education couldn’t brainwash me on the topic, you are unlikely to succeed. I am sure you can find more congenial reading elsewhere.

My friends often call me out as a strange writer, because I can be having a normal conversation with a friend and then walk away thinking, "Oh my god, that's fanfic material." While the idea is still fresh in my mind, I open up my notes on my phone and type down the idea.
Or something could be happening to me e.g. I cut my heel with my own toenail 💀 and then I'd think to myself, how can I turn this into a cute scenario with (character)?
Other times, I'd have flashbacks of my exciting high school days and see if I can use any notable moments as inspiration. A good example of this is my recent Diasomnia fic where the gang acts like a protective family for (y/n) when she was being bullied by the Savanaclaw students. That has happened to me before, and thinking back, my closest friends were like Malleus, Lilia, Silver and Sebek in terms of dynamic :") Lilia putting salt in the tea was inspired by a discord conversation though lol
There are also occasions where I'd be watching anime and kdramas, reading manhwas, and whenever I see a scene I like, I try to recreate that in my stories with my original ideas mixed in.
I often write while listening to original soundtracks on YouTube, notably those that incorporate a lot of string instruments because they help me concentrate =u=)
honestly alice, i don't think it's that strange. i've been in plenty of writing workshops and one of the things an instructor told me was that he holds a small notebook and writes any ideas he gets in it. he carries it around with him everywhere because of this. so you remind me of that. and i like that because it's so cool how you can get so many ideas from literally one tiny thing or inconvenience.
there's also just a lot of material with yourself and of course, the best writing advice i've ever gotten and will share is write what you know. it's so simple but SO MANY PEOPLE can't even follow it. and it's obvious how poor some people's attempts can be :')
but original soundtracks hit different. which ones are you favorite? please tell me!!

How are you managing to create a community around Kdrama shows when you are predominantly surrounded be Good Girls?
Oh that's a good question and to be honest I don't really know?
I started watching kdramas because @fairhairedkings got into them and she wanted to share some with me - and then from there we've kept watching together and I also started to branch out and watch some on my own. I don't think I ever really thought that much about a community? I just kinda did my own thing and started reblogging more and more kdrama/cdrama content (especially when I started watching Rebel Princess and Doom At Your Service) because I've always viewed my blog as like a living testament to the things I'm into at any given moment in time.
It's honestly been an amazing and pleasant surprise to see all the gg mutuals/followers who have popped into my messages/inbox to tell me they like those shows too or give me recs or have been encouraged to watch now too.
So I guess the really unsatisfying answer is I made a community by pure luck and happenstance because I was obnoxiously reblogging a lot of gifsets (which is very on brand for me tbh).

Hello to everyone who follows me and to those who don't follow me.
As we all know, my blog consists of whatever the heck I want it to and for the most part, everyone seems to be okay with it lol
Anyways, a little known fact about me is that I absolutely love foreign films and tv shows. Most specifically, Kdramas hold a very special place in my heart. I am and have always been a fan of chemistry be it characters from anime or cartoons or actors and actresses. So my shipper heart doesn't discriminate between LGBTQ or hetero. They have chemistry I usually love them or at least appreciate their story. I admit I have my favorites.
But, kdramas tend to follow a very typical and repetitive plot. Girl meets boy. Most specifically, a poor, down on her luck girl meets a rich and arrogant boy. They can't stop thinking about each other but they hate each other. Except not really. They get together. Family or other reasons drive them to separate. They end up getting back together because they are miserable without the other. Oh and someone usually ends up nearly dying. (Sounds like you would get sick of watching Kdramas right? Wrong.)
But.
While most kdramas follow this theme, I've compiled a list of my personal favorites.
They are my favorites because while there's a main girl and a main guy, the plots don't typically follow this plot. So for those interested in checking some of these out, here are 12 of my favorite kdramas for various reasons.
At number one, I need to give props to the very first kdrama I have ever checked out.
Queen Inhyun's Man/Queen and I.
Tumblr media
This kdrama was my first. And boy did it set my standards pretty high. The chemistry between the leads was off the charts and the leads even dated for awhile after filming completed. The kissing. It definitely wasn't the usual kissing you see on kdramas as I would find out. But besides that, who doesn't like a good time travel romantic story?
Moving on, to number 2, we have Love with Flaws.
Tumblr media
Now. I adore this kdrama. I liked all the characters. The leads romance was a little lackluster but the story mainly focuses on the importance of family. Family is highlighted so much in this kdrama and I loved every minute of it.
At number 3, Hi, Bye, Mama.
Tumblr media
Phew. Speaking of family, get prepared for an emotional rollercoaster of a story. This kdrama highlights relationships and the aftermath of dealing with loss, with a side of the supernatural.
At number 4, Black.
Tumblr media
Switching gears off of family, be prepared to be on the edge of your seat the entire kdrama. A supernatural thriller, the ending was a bit lackluster(and that might just be my picky self complaining) but it still doesn't take away from the genius of this kdrama.
For number 5, we have Goblin. (If you're a fan of Train to Busan you may recognize the Male lead)
Tumblr media
You've probably noticed a common theme, I love my supernatural kdramas. This one however, is filled with comedy and you need it to combat the amount of emotions you go through. These actors do such a good job portraying their characters.
Number 6; Kill me Heal Me.
Tumblr media
If anyone wants a good story about a mental illness, I bring to you a story about Dissociative identity disorder. This drama is just so good and it really does a good job highlighting how people with this mental illness live with it.
At number 7, Good Doctor.
The American remake did a good job of portraying an autistic doctor but it has nothing on the original.
Tumblr media
Number 8, Chief Kim
Tumblr media
The antics this show gets into is just hilarious. I highly recommend watching it.
Number 9, Still 17.
Tumblr media
As the title suggests. It's about a girl who is in a coma for over 10 years and so when she wakes up, her body aged but mentally she is still 17.
Number 10; While you were sleeping
Tumblr media
Ya'll, this kdrama. I don't even know how to describe it. It's not exactly supernatural, more like psychic abilities and fate. But it is so good.
Number 11; The Smile has your left your eyes.
Phew, boy, this kdrama is dark but just so special, its a remake on the Japanese drama of the same name but dang is it just special.
Number 12 is a new one but damn is it good.
Sweet Home.
This is a show about a supernatural apocalypse, I love zombie apocalypse movies like Resident Evil and Train to Busan. This just with monsters and not zombies.

Ancient Writer of dreams and nightmares: I am 71 (-one month), and have been writing (making up tales) since I was three. I can still remember my Pawpaw whittling a pencil for me, and Mawmaw tearing a piece of brown grocery bag for me to write on. They weren't 'poor', but writing paper wasn't to be wasted on a 'kid' just for fun. I carefully scripted my first short story.
Of course my 'letters' looked more like ancient Hanguel, so I had to read it to my "captured" audience. I really don't remember the story, but as my grandparents had a yard full of chickens and my dog, Mutt, liked to chase them (because of this we 'both' got into trouble -- because I always joined the chase) I most probably wrote about that.
My Pawpaw was a story-teller. For several years I thought there really was a baby found in the wilds of the African jungle and raised by the great apes. I thought he was the luckiest babe, EVER!
Then I found Pawpaw's books about three years after he died. I was eleven when he died, and felt that my best friend had abandoned me. But when I found those books I realized just where Tarzan actually came from and went to. I read everyone of those books and got the complete picture. THEN..
Well, Pawpaw also told stories of Daniel Boone and Davey Crocket...before I saw them on Disney. Then, of course, I went to school and learned what I already knew. Pawpaw was an excellent story-teller and never mixed up his facts, time-lines, or characters.
Growing up under his influence had a lot to do with how I developed as a story-teller. At family gatherings when I meet cousins I haven't seen in decades, they STILL remember me and the stories that I used to tell them. My children and grandchildren have grown up with me re-telling Pawpaw's old stories, and sharing many that I made up on the spot.
But I think what I read in my early years developed my writing style.
I was just turned eight when I read my first Shakespeare, MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. He was my first favorite author. Then I was forced to read Romeo and Juliet. I was disgusted by the fact that TRAGEDY was made famous as a ROMANCE! Even at the innocent (then) age of fourteen, I was disgusted with the idea that it was considered romantic for 'anyone', let alone 'teenagers' to commit suicide over unrequited love.
My sister (now 68) and I recently discussed this play. Because she had a 'forbidden' teenage love, she said that she related to the story (even though she had never read it). GASP! It was required reading in ninth grade!
I remember our dad breaking up my sister and her boyfriend, who was really cool. He was a hard working farm boy who had saved his money to buy a motorcycle. AND his own car. But he wasn't good enough for my sister. smh
I always thought her story would make a great LifeTime movie. But I'm not touching it. She would 'skin me' for sharing with the world her broken heart. And if I added the stuff that sells today, she'd scalp me for lying. Not a win situation at all. So, I will write notes in my "Random Jottings Journal" for future decendants who might grow into writers or story-tellers.
By the way, the title "RANDOM JOTTINGS" came from a sci-fi book that I read as a kid in the fifties. I don't remember the author, although I'm pretty sure it 'might' be from a Heinlein juvenile book. But I've never found a reference to any sci-fi books using that term. SO!!! If anyone recognizes "RANDOM JOTTINGS", which was a note book that a professor/scientist/genius used to keep his 'thoughts', PLEASE share the author's name and the title of the book!!! Thank You.
In the meantime, I referenced Shakespeare. James Oliver Curwood wrote about Kazan, the Wolf Dog, and later Baree, Son of Kazan. From those two books, read when I was eleven, I searched for and found other books about Canada. Later there was Walter Farley, author of the Black Stallion, and the Island Stallion series. I think I met my FIRST friendly alien in the Island Stallion Races.
Of course, Edgar Rice Burroughs taught me much false history about the jungles of Africa, as well as the Moon and Mars. But I loved every 'read-under-the-covers-with a-flashlight' minute! I believe he was a contemporary of Zane Grey, because he wrote a few non-jungle and non-space stories, too. Which led me to Zane Grey.
Having read both of their biographies at a young age, I learned about the hardships of being a writer. I should say 'the hardships of a struggling writer'. I have never had a problem writing. Since I write for 'fun' and not 'profit', the few short stories I've had published were by local press, and a State magazine.
No, my struggles have centered around graduating high school, and completing college, stuggling to satisfy my husband, a 'Mr. Spock in the Flesh' personality, and later raising two children without benefit of parental support or child support. But we survived in the middle of laughter and many tears. And my made up stories about children lost in the woods who were rescued by a great friendly bear, or wolf. Or dog. And sometimes by a great Black Panther - a by product of one of my Pawpaw's 'local historical tales'.
I understand that publishers detest stories that begin with "It was a dark and stormy night.." But let me tell you, some of the BEST bedtime stories occur on stormy nights when the power has gone out, and it's too hot for candles or lanterns. That shadow that stands darkest in the corner and seems to be moving towards the bed is actually grandma come to check on the kids, and stands quiet so not to disturb the kids if they're already asleep. But since they are awake, and they see her 'shadow', she becomes the old crone who lives in the castle dungeon, and has slipped her chains to visit with the 'wee folk'. But there are no fairies out on such a blustery night, so the old crone comes to visit with the 'wee bairn', who fall all over themselves to get out of bed and sit around her to hear her stories of 'long ago' and other 'dark and stormy nights'. Again -- unpublished, because publishers don't like ... LOL
Of course there's always On-Line publishing. But that involves more work than actual writing.
Back to the writrs who influenced my writing:
While I enjoy a good Western, an adventurous space trek, or time travel, I also enjoy the occasional Historical Romance. Georgette Heyer was my first! I still re-read her amazing books. Of course there's Jane Austen.
There are a myriad of modern writers that I have read over the last five decades. Heinlen, Asimov, Norton, Bradley, McCaffrey, Moon, Stirling, Krentz/Castle/Quick, and Moening, just to name a few of the ones whose books I have in my personal library.
Those older authors did affect my writing style to develope as I read their stories. The later authors helped me to move into the late 20th century. But I'm not so sure that I like the 21st century so much. It's all about being politically 'correct'. If you aren't ashamed of your gender, your race, your country, your religion, your culture, your family, your history, then you are prejudiced. That's just too much guilt to have to live with.
I'm still dealing with my mom's death from ten years ago. I was her care-giver for five years. Her doctor had given her nine months. I still worry if I did enough for her in those last years.
And though my children are grown with their own families, I worry that I wasn't a good enough parent. And I worthy as a grandmother? How was I as an older sister? I was responsible as a moral guide when our parents were at work. Was I a good neighbor? A good support in our Church? And Hollywood wants me to feel guilt about something I can't change?!!
I'm an old woman who still likes being a woman and enjoys liking men. I'm not just white. I'm also mixed with a bit of Native American, and even a drop of -- OMG!!! --- Black. snicker.
That's a serious joke, because as a kid I had a recuring nightmare that I was a black man being judged by a group of people in white hoods I was hanged amidst their fiery torches. I always thought those white hoods represented the Catholic Church, because at that young age I didn't know about the Ku Klux Klan. Even though I grew up in the South, my family was not involved with that group of out-lawrey. Thank God!
Still, I'm supposed to feel shame? For something not even my family supported.
I've always believed there's a hint of Fae in my DNA. Because I love dancing in the light of the full moon, and flying with the owls who perch outside my bedroom window and call to invite me to follow the moon's shadow. If I am part Fae, I know it came from my mother's people. They were Irish mixed with Alabama Indians who believed in the Nunnehi aka Immortal, and the Yunwi Tsunsdi, aka Little People.
ALSO, while there's no DNA proof of ancestry, I've always been a 'closet Chinese'.
In the Fifties, when WW2 was still fresh, and we were involved with the 'Korean Conflict', and at odds with China, I would sneak around the radio, turn down the volume, and tune into 'that wierd channel' that sometimes played Opera, or Chinese music. Ahhh. I would close my eyes and wander through the few visuals I'd found in books, or the occasional movie. (before color tv)
A year or two ago I was totally depressed and disgusted with American TV. Hollywood has become so political, so wierd. Their programming is no longer for entertainment, but to 'educate, enlighten, or to inform'. zzzzz
Then I found KDrama!!!!! Korean TV. Japanese Tv. squeal!!! Chinese TV.
The rom/coms are sweet and 'pure'. Okay. I'm realistic. This is not a reflection of real life on any planet. But the innocence of the early 1950s programs is there. Similar to Disney's 'Summer Magic'. I'm happy with those dramas that remind me of thati nnocence. I have found a few dramas that shared more than I cared for, and I do enjoy an occasional 'romp'. But I've always preferred the Lady and Gentleman characters.
And watching these programs have reminded me of those fairy tales and legends from my childhood that had been sprinkled with the Occasional Oriental myth, legend, and children's tale.
Then I remembered my FIRST historical legend. "The White Stag" by Kate Seredy, is the tale of Atilla the Hun!
I recently found a copy of that book and am waiting for a quiet time, when the power is out and there's nothing to do. Then I will use one of the many flashlights I bought for a huge hurricane, and relax on the sofa beneath an open window and read this legend once again. I live in Florida. The odds of this happening increases as the summer progresses. I can't wait to learn if my memory of this tale of Atilla the Hun remained true, or has been distorted in the last half of a century.
Most of the tales that I write involve space adventures, the occasioanl ghost, and encounters with fairies, the evil ones, not the romantic ideal fairy. smh
I've never been very good with romance or comedy. But thanks to the recent influence of the Asian productions, I have re-formatted one of my dark adventures and turned it into a rom/com.
I love a good joke, but very seldom get the point or see the humor. And I can NEVER remember the punch line if I try to share a joke. My family have said they will write on my tombstone --
"I don't remember the punchline ... but it was funny."
But as I write humorous lines or events I find myself laughing. Or crying at sad events. And I am all 'giggly' when I write what is supposed to be innocent romance between a young and shy couple. But I have never felt that my own reactions were a true guide to how the story might come across to a 'reader'.
As it happens, I have two sisters younger than I am. My middle sister is bored easily and immediately redirects our conversation to something about 'her'. Okay. I understand. She is lonely, needy, and maybe a bit selfish? Not judging. She's the 'middle child' and that's her excuse. ROFL..
But the youngest sister is my greatest fan who declares that I am an awesome writer. "I love you, sister, dear."
So she visited me last week and patiently listened as I read the first chapter. She listened quietly, and I wondered if I had 'read her to sleep'. sigh. Boring books are often the best sleeping pill. Then I heard her laugh.
Squeals/Dancing/hooting/flying around the room in ecstasy!!
Okay! At least one person has laughed. And she's not that easily 'tickled'.
So, I will always carry on and write. But now I feel that at least I might be following a path strewn with "Black-Eyed-Susans, honeybees, butterflies, and bunnies".
I don't know if anyone will read this, or will enjoy it. I hope so. While sharing bits of my youth, my worries, and my concern about certain ones of my 'stories', I actually had ideas for developing 'new' stories.
I am always amazed when writers say they are 'blocked'. I have only to open my eyes to see a world around me that no one else can envision. I listen to a song, and I'm in a different world, time, planet. A gift from Pawpaw, and Mother's DNA.
It is my oldest granddaughter's birthday this month, and I don't know what to give her for her birthday. But when she was younger, she always asked me to tell her a story. I think that I will pull out one of my OLD/ANCIENT tales that I wrote when her dad was her age and make it into a book for her.
