The age gap thing is pretty simple. I've heard that reasoning a lot, but it just doesn't work for me. IMO---and this IS just IMO, there's other opinions and That's Valid---Rex is an adult, even if he's only in his early teens. It's like how Grogu is a baby, even though he's 50. This is a universe where different species age completely differently, and so to me the clones only being half the age they look, number-wise, doesn't mean they count as that age.

(Also, I totally ship Blyla, and that gets weird if we're counting clones as kids.)

The end result will probably mostly depend on how the story plays out, but I want everyone's opinion anyway

*explanation: I don't ship rexsoka in canon because of the age difference, but they're much closer in age in this AU. So, I'm tentatively putting it on the table.

Hello, and welcome to my little corner of Hell! You can call me Venus, I'm not new to this hellsite by any means and I finally decided it was time to carve out the niche in the Star Wars fandom that I always dreamed of someone else making.

On this blog, I will be posting various headcanons, blurbs, quotes, fanart, possibly fanfictions of my own writing, all relating to what I consider to be my favorite ships, including rare pairings and a variety of ships that I think I came up with because I am single IRL and would really rather not be.

I'm curious about Kit Fisto x Aayla Secura x Commander Bly, but I haven't actually explored it much, so if you've got any thoughts or favorite fan works, feel free to send them my way!

These are the ships that I currently find myself interested in and writing about, but I'm open to hearing about what other people might like, my only boundaries are non-familial/platonic ships between clones, that's not my cup of tea, and any Master/Padawan ships, something I'm not interested in and would prefer to not engage with, you do you, of course.

I also enjoy at least two AUs, one that I believe pre-dates my use of it and the other is a very common one: Sith AU (Duh) and Victory Ball AU (In which the Clone War ends in a Republic-Jedi victory and things are all made right, Palpatine will always die, usually in increasingly hilarious or vengeful ways, depending on how my day went)

I am a SUCKER for the Soulmate trope/AU, and if anyone ever wants my thoughts on a specific ship being soulmates, ask! I will gladly babble my nonsense to any who wish to hear it!

I will forewarn that I am likely to post about ships + reader, for example, I'm already planning for my first real post to be a Quinfox x reader headcanon, so if you're like me and are polyamorous or LGBTQ+ in another way, you're welcome to send things in too! There's room for everyone around here, my little deal is that no one can be harmed and it can't be an illegal relationship (Examples include but are not limited to: Non-Con, incest, underage/of age partners, abusive dynamics/themes, coercion,) in our standards. Today I rethinked my life and I changed my mind about some things. I'm no longer Fox's fan! That bastard deserved to die for killing Fives and chasing Ahsoka.

This also means that foxiyo doesn't make sense! I mean, they even don't interact with each other and Riyo should be with a good man, not a murderer.

Also, I'm no longer rexsoka shipper! Antis are right, this ship is wrong and gross as hell. Luxsoka is canon (I really liked their kiss scene). Same with sabezra, it's literally found-family incest, I can't ship that any longer.

Hi anon! I'm twirling my hair that my little fic got you interested--it's a ship that's VERY near and dear to my heart! We have some great fic writers, so I would LOVE to recommend some of my favorites.

I don't know if you've watched any Clone Wars, so I'm going to list some here where you don't need to have any significant pre-knowledge of canon. If you have watched any, I can totally rec some of the more canon-compliant/divergent ones that I've enjoyed. So these are all AUs, which I adore anyways.

In no particular order, here are some faves, and honestly ANY of the works by these authors are ones I'd recommend!

I lied when I said I didn't need you by @jewelofmandalore: A GFFA college AU that has exquisite dynamics. She's also kicking off a great series that's very loosely inspired by House of the Dragon's Rhaenyra and Harwin, but no knowledge of either Star Wars or HOTD is needed to enjoy this one!

sharp & glorious thorn by @chocmarss: Medieval vibes, enemies to lovers, and some simply gorgeous writing. I re-read this one probably once a month -- it's just so delicious.

they didn't prepare him for this on kamino by @darthgoosegoose: this is a WIP but so juicy! When ACOTAR folks start dipping a toe in rexsoka this is the one I recommend because it has such impeccable sithy, enemies to lovers, quarantine couple vibes. I love it so much.

one day by @amukmuk: Modern AU, friends to lovers, and so beautifully written. this one is for sure slow-burn vibes and I cried when it was done, because the ending had such a good payoff.

I am indeed impassive to all ships as long as it's non-predatory (pedophilia) and is consensual on both ends.

Personally, I see Ahsoka and Rex as siblings mainly because Ahsoka grew up with them in a sense. But I am not oblivious to the relationships that blossom overtime as well as the blurred line of 'grooming' — a perfect example would be (if you watch anime) Sesshoumaru and Rin!

If you haven't, it's about a dog demon who resurrects this child and they were such good companion through the entire original anime series and in the new Yashahime (spin-off of sorts), she gives him twins and just goes through a new story altogether.

I have my thoughts about it RexSoka and my example, but I also have the choice to indulge and not. I have the choice to skip posts that are RexSoka, I have the choice to block that tag, and more as much as I have the choice to politely decline someone who wants to thot-converse with me over it without unfriending them. I'm sure we'll have more ships to go over.

But then again, don't Togrutas age slower than humans since their alien species and Rex, like the clones, have speed aging? Then again, there's the matter of mentality. I guess it depends on the AU and if people want to keep it canon but ship them together, then... Who am I to stop them, yeah?

At the end of the day, it's fiction. If they need a safe space to ramble their ship even though I lean a bit away from it, my inbox is and DM is still available. I just may not be fully engaged but I will listen and converse.

BUT, I do draw the line if there is any indication that this fascination applies to the real world. If they start talking about lusting for a minor, I don't think I have in me to continue.

So yes, keep it fiction and search your company maybe. Those who share the same ship. Mind your limits and level of thirst maybe. Do a itty bitty bit of reflecting on where to draw the line and we're all good.

Hmm I feel like the only ones that have truly been done dirty by canon is Rexsoka. We don't really know the end for mandomera or foxiyo. As for thranto, well, I have a feeling the Ahsoka show is going to do me dirty by making Thrawn this Big Bad Evil guy when his character is much more nuanced, but I'm gonna hold out hope.

This was on a reblog of a fic concept someone added one of my posts but I decided it was risking backlash against the person, and also it ended up half vent post, so just tucking it into its own little post here instead.

I'm glad you're enjoying this, but... Okay, actually, I'm really sorry but this goes against what I was thinking with this post in a lot of ways. I know you didn't intend any malice, but I just. I cannot not talk about this right now. I need people to know to just... not do this to my posts. Because it keeps happening.

I do know which "the younger person should be the sugar daddy, like they made an app or something" post you're thinking about, and i'ts a good post, but that is 100% an Obikin plot. Cody is not a guy to make a super successful app. That is an Anakin thing. In that respect, this is an Obikin fic in Cod*Wan clothing. I mean, I've talked about wanting people to do more Obikin plots in Cod*Wan, but that's about exploring the age difference and power dynamics, not Cody Is A Tech Whiz.

A billion is too much. The only, only ethical ways to get to billionaire status are 'lottery' and 'relative I never heard of just died and left me everything.' In both cases, the only ethical way to proceed is to invest enough to live off of comfortably, and donate the rest. If an app makes that much money? The app is screwing someone over.

I also cannot imagine Obi-Wan in the financial industries sector unless he absolutely loathes his job or is an auditor who delights in making Rich People's Lives Miserable. Better option would be that Obi-Wan is the president of a charity that Cody partners with, like the CEO of a Free Housing For The Homeless initiative or a big name lawyer in an activist lobby for environmentalism or something. This might just be my "I am a business major who hates the business major norms" and look at financial services industry types with uhhhh distaste. If he's a financial advisor, it is for a nonprofit. At most, he is part of a company that specializes in helping rich people funnel their money into charitable ventures.

This also just doesn't fight my envisioning of either Obi-Wan or Cody.

I do need to throw in that my first thought reading this was my Codakin version where Cody wins the lottery and Anakin is the sugar baby. It's not that similar, but the vibes were there (for me).

Finally, it's just... the point of this post is that I find it frustrating when people make Cody the same age because I find it disingenuous to flatten the power dynamic. Some people do it fine, are multi-shippers who are as honest about Cod*Wan as they are with something like Obikin. If they have one fic where Cod*Wan are the same age with no power diff, and another where the power dynamic is flipped, and a third where the power dynamic is as in canon and just explored as necessary, that's fine.

But with the number of Cod*wan (and Barr*ssoka, which is full on NOTP for me as a direct result of this behavior, despite having a canon age diff of 4yrs) folk that have talked shit to and about me and mine for doing something similar with ships like Rexsoka or Obikin... The amount of shit I've had to deal with for shipping Rexsoka for adjusting ages in a modern AU, coming from people who do the same thing with Cod*Wan, is the driving force of this post. It's basically this: If I don't get to change the ages a bit to make things palatable, then neither does anyone else.

This is not just about the age difference. It's about looking at canon and going 'if you guys are going to give me shit for my ship, then play it straight on your end. What does it look like when you're honest about the power dynamic?

There is a reason my first suggestion is Cody having a crush on his boss.

The intent was always that Obi-Wan is the sugar daddy, because Obi-Wan is the General. Because Obi-Wan is the one with power. Because Obi-Wan is the one with control.

Because this post was about "if I don't get to change my ships to make them less problematic, then neither does anyone else."

Also because I just find a lot of Cod*Wan fics to be OOC, and not in the fun way.

Anakin and Hunter have a lot in common, so their friendship and mutual protectiveness of each other would be a really fun thing to explore. Crosshair is just a brat. And annoying because he wants to be. But he likes making Hunter submit to him (though there’s gonna be a fight first lol) and he likes getting Anakin’s attention. Anakin likes feeling accepted by them, and he’s open to pretty much anything they want.

If Cody was even just tolerant of him and not affectionate toward him, Vader would still follow him gratefully because he’s not being tortured. He has a very low bar for what constitutes a good master and Cody would just. Be horrified.

Navigating a relationship where Vader is a cyborg would be interesting, especially since it’d make intimacy very complicated.

Rebel!Vader? Maybe Vader is a Fulcrum agent and he and Rex meet accidentally during Rebels or something, and then realize who the other is and Things Happen.

Or maybe it’s an AU where Anakin was never a Jedi, and it’s an enemies-to-lovers type thing. Either way, Rex gets to fuck him back to the Light. <3

Hunter might be the leader, but Crosshair likes pushing him to get him to react and to make him submit to him (though there’ll be a fight first before Hunter would give in). Hunter… despite whatever he claims to himself, likes it, because he likes feeling protected and like he doesn’t need to always be in charge. Leading is haaaard, and Crosshair helps him let go.

Maybe they’re both exploring sex for the first time. Maybe they’re tiptoeing around a relationship during the war before it Happens. Maybe they’re trying to rebuild something after getting separated. Anything is fine.

(I’m not fond of the idea that Crosshair would be angry at Hunter for the Batch leaving once his chip wears off/is removed. I like to think he’s more mature than that and actually understands why they did what they did; he literally shot Wrecker. He’s gonna be dealing with a lot of guilt for hurting them.)

If you don't focus on clones/include them more than as background characters (*cough cough* like canon does *cough*) then that's erasure and you're racist; if you ship them with a Jedi then that's an abusive power dynamic and you're racist (same for Senators, and all civilians, depending on who you're talking to); if you ship them with Padawans (shoutout to Rexsoka shippers, braver than any U.S. Marines) then that's a one-two combo of pedophilia and power dynamics and you're racist.
