I literally walked into the cat room, threw the door open, and said "I am ready to KILL" to my coworker who just started laughing. I left after all the animals were taken care of and arrived home without issue if just filled with more rage (shoes stuffed with snow).

My boss will not accept bad weather as an excuse to not show up for work, which is fine, but I live in Helheim. Honestly, I'd rather deal with the snow and ice than the tornadoes and hurricanes you guys have going on down there.

I've been workshopping the moment that Enoch finds out secondo is dead and I've got a few ideas. The first one, and the one I'm likely going for, is that he doesn't know until sister tells him. Before secondo leaves for that uno game, they get in a bit of a fight (nothing too serious, but a fight nonetheless). Then a few hours pass, he's thought about the fight and he's ready to apologize when sister comes instead. And she's all vague about why she's there until she comes right out and says it. The papas have been killed, and they're being replaced by Copia. IMMEDIATE reaction to that, I'm talking heart shatters and stomach drops type shit and he's running to the morgue to see for himself even tho he knows it's already true. Cue five years of the worst depressive state he's ever been in.

Alternatively, he could feel it, when Secondo dies. I think it would be cool to have him chilling and then just realizes that he just died and freaking TF out.

Another sad thing I had planned was Enoch dying. Because technically he can die in the sense that his body is dead, but it heals, he usually comes back unless something is stopping him from healing. An idea I had was that he gets locked into a fridge and thrown into the ocean for a bit and just repeatedly drowns until someone gets him out. Fun stuff!!!

I really like the idea of him not knowing until he's told... dealing with the possible stress over the fight but never thinking he wouldn't even get to apologize... (a favorite trope btw, specially when it's a fight over something Really Not That Deep, or a Really Not Serious Fight. not knowing this silly argument will be the last one... ough)

i DO also like the idea of him having a little bit of a Bad Feeling when Secondo dies, but something that can be attributed to like. worrying too much. being stressed in general. after all he's probably just playing Uno with his brothers or some shit, why would Enoch have to worry - and then he finds out he did have a reason to worry and now there's no going back and. ouch i made myself sad over that. nvm

One of my biggest nitpicks in fiction concerns the feeding of babies. Mothers dying during/shortly after childbirth or the baby being separated form the mother shortly after birth is pretty common in fiction. It is/was also common enough in real life, which is why I think a lot of writers/readers don't think too hard about this. however. Historically, the only reason the vast majority of babies survived being separated from their mother was because there was at least one other woman around to breastfeed them. Before modern formula, yes, people did use other substitutes, but they were rarely, if ever, nutritionally sufficient.

Newborns can't eat adult food. They can't really survive on animal milk. If your story takes place in a world before/without formula, a baby separated from its mother is going to either be nursed by someone else, or starve.

It doesn't have to be a huge plot point, but idk at least don't explicitly describe the situation as excluding the possibility of a wetnurse. "The father or the great grandmother or the neighbor man or the older sibling took and raised the baby completely alone in a cave for a year." Nope. That baby is dead I'm sorry. "The baby was kidnapped shortly after birth by a wizard and hidden away in a secret tower" um quick question was the wizard lactating? "The mother refused to see or touch her child after birth so the baby was left to the care of the ailing grandfather" the grandfather who made the necessary arrangements with women in the neighborhood, right? right? OR THAT GREAT OFFENDER "A newborn baby was left on the doorstep and they brought it in and took care of it no issues" What Are You Going to Feed That Baby. Hello?

Like. It's not impossible, but arrangements are going to have to be made. There are some logistics.

i am so obsessed with the complications created between siblings and especially the gavin siblings i'm afraid it's terminal. the love and hatred intertwined can be so potent i'm eating my way through capcom's walls. that kristoph created a safe space in her shadow for klavier to explore and express freely, and she's happy for her little klavier, she really is, but there's something about the jealousy she feels towards her for being so open and carefree at every second. she shoves it down with the rest because then she must ask why she's jealous of such a thing and she should never feel that way towards her little klavier, anyway. and she's far too much a busy man to wallow in those kinds of things. still it persists.

that kristoph only dares to feel that fluttering in her chest and finally find a name for it while rotting away from the world in a cell block: finding the freedom to exist only when the very thing has been robbed of her. did i mention my dear friend @princepqul has a lovely fic for this in atroquinine, my love and i'm going to fucking Get him by the way. and her life may as well be over but it's the first time she's lived it in thirty-two years and it's when nobody is left to see it. whether that's a blessing or a curse she couldn't say.

that miles away in an empty home klavier reckons with the loss, perhaps in this way more than ever, of the one person who she felt understood, and saw, and would always be there by her side. and continues to lose her every day as she's forced to question if that person ever existed and even safe in the conclusion that she did, that klavier will never have the opportunity to repay her. will never be able to openly respect who kristoph was to her beyond who kristoph was to the world and. and.
