"How many times we done danced this dance now?"
Past me said 'hey let's get back into drawing seriously with a complicated pose between two people + clothing folds which I famously suck at + TWO guns, this will only take what, two days?'. Past me is a dipstick. Anyway I've lowkey shipped it since I played the first bodgy fan translation, what's up?

Can you tell us some headcanons for older!Chlogan? 👀
Awwww, Pom, your enthusiasm for rare pairs- your own and others- is just the best! So, Chlogan, the relationship between aged-up Chloe Barbash and Logan Bush...
I will admit, it first started as a joke that amused me on a couple of levels, the main ones being "wouldn't it be funny if Louise's nemeses got together?" and "Chlogan is a fun portmanteau ship name- her name flows right into his!"
But when @sailoreuterpe was doing the rare pair ask game last year, I asked her about Chlogan and she gave a thoughtful answer, which included this: "However, considering who Chloe and Logan are, it's just as likely that their parents hate each other for dumb wealthy WASP reasons. If that's the case, Chloe and Logan could very well date specifically to piss of their parents." That sort of inspired the most developed idea I have about the two of them getting together.
I imagine them knowing each other as kids (ie- at their current ages in the show and maybe even longer) because of their parents (who dislike each other) being in the same social circle. They do not get along either. They each find the other annoying- Chloe thinks Logan is gross, Logan thinks Chloe is a spoiled brat. At best case, they ignore each other, at the worst they fight.
However, as they get older, Chloe, to her chagrin, starts finding Logan attractive and thinking of him as a "cool bad boy"- at least, in the context of her privileged social circle. By the time Chloe graduates high school, she is really starting to chafe against her parents and their rules and their expectations- so she seeks Logan out to teach her how to be rebellious- and hoping to eventually get him to date her to annoy their parents (but that's not her only reason..)
Eventually, in romcom fashion, everything resolves as follows: 1. Chloe realizes Logan actually isn't much of a bad boy or rebel after all; 2. But by that point they actually just like each other anyway; 3. It turns out their parents don't actually care if they are together.
That's the main idea I have about the two of them. Here are some jokier alternatives (which could also incorporate the childhood/family animosity background):
-Rudy sets them up. I imagine this being when they are further in adulthood. Rudy and Louise are married; Louise is running the restaurant and Logan also has a store on Ocean Avenue (skateboards or something) and they've become friends (friends who annoy each other, but still). Rudy ends up reconnecting with Chloe (maybe interviewing her for some story he's doing for public radio) and comes up with the idea of setting Chloe and Logan up. Louise mocks him for it and everyone thinks its a bad idea (including Logan and Chloe) but it works out. This idea amuses me, but I doubt I'll do anything with it because it really says more about how I see older Rudy (a romantic who thinks everyone deserves happiness) rather than Logan or Chloe themselves.
-Rewatching "A Few 'Gurt Men" for my episode ranking rewatch led me to think (based on my experience as a lawyer) which "Bob's Burgers" kids would succeed in law school and the practice of law- and honestly Chloe and Logan were two of the top names on my list (along with Tammy- being a lawyer is not about being smart, it's about being confident). I could easily see them going from work rivals (within the same firm or on opposite sides) to lovers.
Thanks for letting me talk Chlogan! I don't know if I'll ever write anything about them. I love Chloe (and have written from her POV once) but I'm not super interested in writing about Logan. I don't hate him (Linda's parents are the only "Bob's Burgers" characters I might say I hate) but I don't find him particularly compelling. That said, "Jade in the Shade" was probably the most I've enjoyed his character- and the first time I ever felt empathy for him- so who knows what the future may hold!
#thanks for the ask!#chloe barbash#logan bush#chlogan#bob's burgers#rare pairs#please no one take this too seriously- it's just a silly rare pair idea that makes me laugh

And while I'm at as far as PSAs go:
This Tumblr and not TikTok or X (Twitter for those who avoid it like the plague since Musk took over) the tags are not for flexing or whatever the hell you do over there.
They are search system for those looking for a specific thing. Say you wanted to see Kirk/Spock. You would look for the tags #kirk/spock #spock/kirk and #spirk. It's popular enough that you think that's all you're going to see. Except you don't because people start tagging their Nyota/Spock stories as #spirk because they want to have as many people as possible see their stuff.
Except here's the problem, people. It's against the terms of service you agreed to when you signed up for this little website/app. It's considered spam.
And I will absolutely report for you it. I don't care what the reason is, but especially if you're doing it for sympathy points. "Oh my dog is sick, please send money" tags all the major tags that are trending at the moment so that it gets seen. Tumblr really is the worst place for that sort of thing. Old posts pop up all the time and unless you have that feature turned you can't tell how old a post is.
And while we're talking invasive species in the tags, let's talk about two of my biggest pet peeves.
Y/N and OT3s.
I've seen a couple posts going around for the Y/N stuff, so I won't add much here, only to say that: YOU CANNOT BLOCK IT AT ALL. Because of the / in the middle. If that appears anywhere in a post Tumblr will block you from seeing it because it thinks it's Y/N. It could be Amy/Amelia (talking about the Doctor Who character) and because it has the / the filter system will think it's Y/N.
And just trying to block x character doesn't work either, because the tag might be xcharacter or x character or x/character and even if you filter all three someone will find another way to tag that you didn't think of will appear and suddenly your block list is twelve miles long and growing because people will also tag the character and you still see it. Or a pairing which brings me to...
OT3s. The third and final invasive species. And I think the one that pisses me off the most. Because no (I'm going to keep using Star Trek here, sorry), your Kirk/Bones/Spock is NOT Kirk/Spock, Kirk/Bones, Spock/Bones. And you tagging it as such only clogs the other tags with stuff they don't want to see.
And AGAIN no real way to block the damn thing. Because some people use portmanteaus while others use the slash. And sometimes the use this weird system of naming that you don't understand at all. Like (I hate using Harry Potter, sorry but it's the most prevalent users of the system I've seen) WolfStar for Remus/Sirius. Wolf for the werewolf and Star because Sirius is a star. But if you're not in the fandom you wouldn't know to tag for it. (I know it's a regular pairing and not a OT3, but there are these types of tags for those as well)
So consider this your PSA. Don't tag for things that the post isn't about. Don't tag Y/N. And don't tag OT3s as pairs because it's really not about the pair and you know it's not.
***Just a note, be civil in comments and tags otherwise I will block you. I don't give a fuck.

Pairing and 2 AUs: Jazz/Megatron (because I am predictable) or Megatron/Nickel (because it would be fun) - you choose.
Either way for AUs:
(a) fae, or
(b) academia (not a college AU, but the sort of thing where all the focus is on the professorial types - Oxbridge SCR/David Lodge style New Uni struggles/whatever)
I have basically zero knowledge of anything fae-related (it's not a cultural feature here), so by default I have to pick option B, but with the disclaimer that I don't recognize any of the the names you mentioned (beyond that Oxbridge is a portmanteau of Oxford and Cambridge).
Also, further disclaimer, as uni admin staff, my feelings towards faculty are... complicated at best.
This one is difficult to assemble.
The trick is finding departments where any of them would come into contact with each other.
I will make the following assumptions:
They are still robots in a Cybertronian cultural context.
We're using a loosely IDW1 continuity.
Academia on Cybertron functions at least somewhat similarly to real-world. I am using the US context because that's what I know, but I realize this is not universal. I.E. I'm using similar positions, academic divisions, fields of study, and issues.
The best I'm coming up with is if Nickel works with some department of Population Health (to keep in line with her medical background) and if Megatron were brought it in from a more statistics-based humanities (what would a Cybertronian equivalent be?) department (demography, social statistics, labor studies, etc.) for a data consult.
Jazz would almost certainly be working with a music and/or dance department. He probably even has a dual appointment.
Finding a department fit for Megatron is very difficult.
The bigger struggle is "who let Megatron into a university? who let him graduate and get a job?" because he would butt right up against the systemic discrimination against working class grad students and likely be forced out via dubiously legal black-balling from faculty not approving projects and/or requiring him to pay for mandatory activities and conferences out of pocket.
In a Cybertronian context, the biases against manual class mechs, even post-Zeta lifting fanatical functionism, would function similarly to the real-world working class bias, along with the black-balling probably actually being more overtly allowed.
I'm also struggling to see him actively choosing to work in academic environments, but the spite of "I am going to go be an asshole and do it anyway" is a good motive for him.
Alright, I've got two options:
Jazz/Megatron - Jazz with his dual appointment and Megatron having a tentative appointment in labor studies doing cross-disciplinary research on music's (and dance's) role in labor movements. This would also allow them to both draw on their strengths and experiences to reach a common ground.
Nickel/Megatron - Nickel requiring outside assistance to set up and account for certain social variables for a new project that is part of a government research grant and the only one available from the appropriate statistical or demographic department is Megatron. The focus would be their struggle to mesh their terse and obstinate personalities to actually work together and complete the project and keep that sweet, sweet grant funding.
Both actually have a lot more potential than I would have thought before noodling it through. It's hard to pick, but I think I'm actually going to choose option 1: Jazz/Megatron.
I think it could be a solid 10k or under one-shot. However, I wouldn't want to actually parallel too many real-world issues, so this is something I wouldn't ever actually write.
Title: Building Bridges
The description is already a good loose summary.

I was gonna submit Kakashi x Shisui to your shipping thing, and then I thought I'd have a look on tumblr to see if there was much in the explore about it, so I Very Smartly made a ship portmanteau and then was surprised when searching 'KakaShi' didn't give me any ship content. I remain optimistic.
Hey! 👋
I'm not surprised you couldn't find Kakashi x Shisui stuff on Tumblr, Kakashi might be insanely popular but Shisui artists are a rarer breed (most artists might have one or two sketches if they dabble in larger casts, there is an excellent Shisui/Sakura artist I know of, but Shisui ships are...rare). Maybe don't search by 'KakaShi' since it might just give you Kakashi, but type out the full ship "shisui x kakashi" or even just both names and resign yourself to a slow trawl 😵
But there are a few fics on AO3. Kakashi x Shisui is actually my go-to Shisui ship, mainly because it's convenient and nice rather than my "OTP" match-up, so if you look through my bookmarks with filters then you should find a few works...! Most Shisui content has to be hunted down through the majority angst and character death, but that's to be expected considering 🤦
I've mentioned it before but I think Kakashi x Shisui is a great pairing.
Kakashi, post-Kyuubi, has officially entered into the "I can't have anyone close to me anymore because everyone fucking dies and it's my fault" era of his life. Ironic, then, that I'm saying that Shisui would dodge this problem 😂 Kakashi needs assurance that a lover wouldn't die on him. Shisui is so insanely strong that Kishi killed him off quickly and through probably one of the few ways to do that, which is taking advantage of his loyalty and respect for leadership. I can't see Shisui dying in the field, there is always a little something he could do to at least escape...then again, I'm biased. So, Shisui is fast and strong and Kakashi could let him in, trust him enough not to die, and that would do wonders for his mental and emotional state. Kakashi, in turn, is a fucking badass with the ear of the Sandaime, the final student of the beloved martyred Yondaime, and he's so feral devoted that I'm convinced he has dog teeth behind that mask. This is the kind of ride or die lover that Shisui deserves 😤
Personality-wise, Kakashi is quiet and sarcastic but he also has a ridiculousness to him. Shisui is similar, he's definitely more extroverted but he has a soft stillness to him (the tenderness 😭) that I think marries well with Kakashi's aversion to social gatherings. Shisui is also bright and cheerful, teasing, all of the things that would make him a good verbal sparring partner for Kakashi. If Kakashi gets too harsh, Shisui has the ability to either let it roll off him or call him out. Likewise, Kakashi is a conspirator and partner in crime for Shisui's drama. As an added bonus, Shisui is bringing home THE eye thief copy-nin. Noone is fast enough to actually hit him with their sandals 😂
TL;DR: Shisui and Kakashi are equals in strength and can come home to each other/fight every battle together. They also blend both their quieter and more mischievous sides. 10/10, a good ship for friendship, flings, or long term (or all three!)
Enjoy, Hiding!

Episode 35 - The Legend of Dratini
Ooh, this is one of the episodes they banned from American release!
Finally, Ash arrives at the Safari Zone for real. He's immediately threatened by a gun-toting cowboy named Kaiser. Kaiser serves as the warden for the Safari Zone, and his propensity for threatening people with his revolver (and sometimes even shooting at them) is the reason this episode was banned.
Kaiser lays down the rules: 30 Safari Balls, time limit, the whole shebang. Even provides a Fishing Rod; That's nice of him. However, as usual, you can only use the Safari Balls; No standard Pokemon gameplay. Kaiser makes clear that he will enforce these rules with his revolver. Do not cross him if you don't want to be shot.
However, when Ash notices a photo of Kaiser with a Dratini and gets excited, Kaiser denies the presence of Dratini in the Safari Zone. A phone call to Oak explains why; When it was discovered that Dratini could be found here, a stampede of Trainers eager for that ultra-rare Dragon Pokemon over-hunted and nearly destroyed the Safari Zone.
(Incidentally, only now, watching them refer to Dratini by its Japanese name "Miniryu" or mini-ryu, do I realize that Dratini is a portmanteau of "Tiny" and "Dragon".)
Team Rocket challenges Ash to a competition to see who can catch more Pokemon in the Safari Zone. Ash takes the bait and runs out to catch Pokemon, but a roaming herd of Tauros keep comically getting in the way every time he throws a Safari Ball.
Team Rocket, meanwhile, take advantage of having kept Ash busy to abduct Kaiser and threaten him with his own revolvers. After an extended interrogation, they force him to reveal the part of the Safari Zone where Dratini can be found.
Once Team Rocket leave, Kaiser finds Ash and lets his group know what's happening.
Ash and the others show up in the nick of time to thwart Team Rocket's plan to deploy a bomb underwater and blast the Dratini out, but Ash drowns trying to retrieve it. However, a Dragonair in the lake rescues Ash, allowing him to return the bomb to sender.
The Dragonair is revealed to have been the Dratini from the photo, who Kaiser had raised. The pair are reunited at long last! D'aww! And Ash goes home with a full Safari set, 30 Pokemon richer. (But they're all Tauros. He caught an entire herd!)

howdy fellow shippers o/
so a bit of context for this blog- i'm very new to the owl house fandom, but i have a big old soft spot for highly speculative and tragic pairings like caleb and evelyn (signless/disciple is my actual factual otp; iykyk). however, my main concern is that for whatever reason, people really like doing massive purges of their creations after leaving a fandom these days
if you're lucky, these works will have been cross-posted or reblogged somewhere, and so they can still bring fans a lot of joy- but as often as not, they wind up lost to time
one of my biggest hopes in making this blog is to be something of an archive for this pairing: a place where even years from now, new fans and shippers can share in the hype and headcanons and character designs, and old fans can look back on fond memories or find fanart they've never seen before.
it's going to be tricky to find older posts now that tumblr doesn't let you search by timestamps anymore (damn the Top and Latest categories straight to hell), so if you think that i have missed a post, please let me know and i will get it queued up! i am always taking song recs that we can add to a community playlist here, and i'm also happy to share any fic recommendations- i just don't have time to read them all :')
organizational tag suggestions are also very much appreciated; i'm probably going to add tags for things like flapjack, philip thirdwheeling, and parallels between our wittecouple (is that the best ship name to use?) and pairings like huntlow, raeda, and... lunter?? good lord the portmanteaus in this show are Bad.
anyhoo, thank you and enjoy! <3
#caleb wittebane#evelyn clawthorne#wittecouple#is that the official ship name 'cause i have no clue#reserved the url just in case >_>

um, sorry for the really minor clarification lol..... i'm 100% down on the "contributors do any content with proper tagging" train!!! but is it possible to maybe list the more common spellings for how certain maruki ships are tagged?
this is both as a way for content creators to find *MORE* of what they already like, and for ppl looking elsewhere to easily filter the tag & move on btw. hopefully not a discourse thing at all
it's silly to say, but due to the abundance of names & spellings for joker's character, i kinda have trouble keeping track of every way joker can be named, listed, or tagged in portmanteau (name-smushing) ships 😅😅😅
see: calling him "pego" in pegoryu, but "shu" in shuakeshu, or using "ren" vs "akira" and making double the tags. (also, mixing up which name goes first in the shiptag just adds another layer of confusion lmao).
it's super no big deal if you're not interested!!! really it comes down to listing some tips like using the "takurumi" tag to get more hits, as compared to the less-known "marurumi" tag. contributors can still do what they want tho, like duh
also sorry to put twitter users on blast here lmao, but i'd appreciate if ships weren't tagged using emojis? 🧃☕️ like even if they make sense they're still really hard to filter 🙏🙏🙏
Hey! Don't worry, this is a perfectly alright thing to ask clarification for.
Maybe in the future I'l make a more proper and formal post, but since I don't know all of the possible ships Maruki has, I hope this will be okay for this ask in the mean time!
I do understand that a lot of ships have a lot of name variation and order, hence why I have decided to allow for all the ones you know of, especially those with Maruki has the focus character IE his name is at the beginning of the ship name. But that still means applying proper shipping tags to be used when posting.
So as an example, say for someone like Joker, and you intend on using him as a pairing character for Maruki. This will become the more commonly known "Marushu" tag, or any variation with the name preference (Akira and Ren) for Joker. This also means that tags for ships and pairings have to be in text for better searching and filtering, instead of emojis.
And lastly, regarding how to tag ships and pairings for this event, it is ideal to use the tags that the contributor knows and believes their work fits in! As long as, Maruki is the focus character, then you're good to go. Plus, I'll do my best to reblog works to this blog, so make sure to use the official tag #takutomarukiweek2023 and/or tag this blog to make sure your work can be seen.
Note: Do keep in mind that this is subjective to change as the event goes on, and as I receive feedback and suggestions as to how to improve it.
Thank you for asking this, may the rest of your day go well!

It refers to a particular style of world design. It's similar to an open world where you're exploring one big nonlinear map, instead of going through separate segmented levels; but unlike an open world where you can go anywhere from the start, large portions of the map in a Metroidvania are initially inaccessible.
The gameplay loop revolves around exploring where you can and taking note of those roadblocks, until you find a a permanent upgrade that grants you an ability, that can then be used to access some of those previously-blocked areas, (such as a double jump to reach ledges that were too high previously, or a weapon to break through certain types of walls) wherein you can then find the next upgrade to progress further still. It unfolds a bit like a puzzle box maze, with lots of backtracking and exploration as your options for paths to go down open up with each new upgrade obtained. Beyond that basic framework, different games have taken the concept in different directions.
The name comes from a portmanteau of "Metroid" and "Castlevania", the two games that popularized the concept, though they still diverge a bit in how they express that idea. From my understanding, 'vania'-type Metroidvanias tend to include rpg stat mechanics and currency systems along with the upgrades, and have a somewhat more open map with less emphasis on the upgrade progression. The Metroid series and its imitators, meanwhile, emphasize the upgrades much more heavily and tend to be fairly streamlined away from stat-based mechanics. Most indie metroidvanias seem to exist in a middle ground between those approaches.
The popular misconception is that 2D sidescrolling platforming is also a core part of the genre, since again the two series that the genre is named for tend to work like that. (Leading to a fair few 2D platformers that don't really utilize Metroidvania design getting mislabeled as such.)
However, there is also a case to be made that some of the Pre-BotW Legend Of Zelda games could be considered 2D top-down or 3D third-person Metroidvanias, particularly those where the overworld uses item progression just as much as the dungeons. (Though some would argue that the mere fact of the overworld and dungeons being separated out counts as a major point of distinction setting those games apart.)
Regardless of that, the Metroid series also has a 3D subseries, Metroid Prime, where that Metroidvania world design style is paired with first-person shooter gameplay. They're sometimes called "first-person adventure" to clarify the difference from traditional FPS games, since the emphasis is still on exploration over combat. Not too many imitators of this particular approach yet, though, as far as I am aware.
Hope this helps!
Asking as a very new gamer, ie Im looking for a broad vibe kind of definition, tropes and expectations and style: what is a metroidvania?
Ive seen from afar that theres definition and minutae to discuss, I just want a broad idea of wgat it is pretty please.

re: your post about platonic portmanteaus. i don't know if people still do this (i didn't even realize people used to do it) but man i wish they did! i'm aromantic, and i really like reading platonic content for character pairings but it's so hard to find :(
I think its been switched now where the portmanteau names are usually reserved for ships, but "name/Name" tags can sometimes get you platonic or familial results as well (although its usage seems to still be leaning towards romantic, ship content) in the same way the portmanteaus USED to be for ships AND nonromantic duos, or at least that's just what I've seen. Like it's meant to say "these two characters and their relatinship are the focus of this fanwork, but it is not (inherently) romantic in nature & not meant to be read that way".
I just ask because I think I've actually seen some people STILL use the portmanteaus for playonic stuff, but I wasn't actually sure since you know. There's weirdos. But yeah, I like platonic character exploration as well, there's value in friendships!

I feel like I missed something, or maybe a lot of somethings, but why is Bucky/Darcy ship name Wintershock? And if it has to do with Endgame, I don't want to know cause I still haven't seen Endgame yet.
So Darcy has a three different portmanteau name variations, but they all work off the fact that Darcy is know for tasing Thor.
So here are three examples for Darcy parings:
Tasertricks: Darcy/Loki (Tricks for Loki because mischief)
ShieldShock: Darcy/Steve (The shield is obv)
ElectricGreen: Darcy/Bruce (Hulk is green)
So that’s how we get Wintershock. Winter for the Soldier. It has nothing to do with Endgame. The Wintershock pairing has been around for quite a while.
Hope that helps! Thank you for the ask Anaon. xxx

I think you had the ship asks a while back, but tell me about angbang! You’ve reblogged some gorgeous art 👀
woohoo Angbang! Thank you! :D :D :D
1. What made you ship it? All the pretty fanart. :D I don't really read much fic for it, but that's more because I haven't the time and mental energy for reading much fic at all at the moment, rather than any actual preference. But the lovely @lemurious' fic was certainly instrumental :D :D :D
2. What are your favorite things about the ship? I just like the idea of bonkers dark lords being totally obsessed with each other. :D The power dynamic thing is something I'm a bit less comfortable with (I like pairings to be on an equal footing, as a general rule) but when they're equally gone for each other and Melkor is just as much under Mairon's sway as Mairon is under Melkor's...oh yeah. :D :D :D Also I generally find portmanteau pairing names really annoying but there are some really creative ones in this fandom and Angbang is, I think, my favourite. XDDDD
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I don't think so? I mean, I know some people don't like that it exists, but pfft. heh, actually maybe the not-liking-the-traditional-power-dynamic is an unpopular opinion, since it's pretty much inherent in the relationship XDDDD I dunno, just the older and acer I get, the less comfortable I am with a whole load of things that are pretty much taken for granted in fandom pairings and real life relationships XDDDD
Thank you for asking! <333333 Anyone else want to ask me whether I ship a ship so I can answer questions about it?

#barely shipping- just kiddin' I'm all down for it #most of the popular ones but also some only *I* like hehe (via @officersnickers)
teasing but not even going to mention your rare pairs. ok 🚶♀️
I think I'm the only person who likes Barbara/Sonya (Barbonya? Sonyara?)
Everyone who ships one or more rare ships and none of the popular ones you are so powerful please reveal them to me through anon
#only popular ships I like from this list are Sonjika and Yuucas #Lesbella 50/50 idk (via @duckietine)
wildest thing about your tags is this is the first time I've ever seen the Sonjika portmanteau used. I've always seen the Japanese coupling naming convention for them, and then, on the opposite side of things, I've only ever seen Yuucas used for Yuugo and Lucas despite it sounding so close to mucus.
#Ray and Anna are SIBLINGS to me I actually hate the ship so much sorry
Not an uncommon sentiment at all in the active tumblr side of the fandom (though hate might be a bit strong for some people; indifferent? I only like a few very specific varieties of it which rarely ever crop up if it's being used as a background ship to prop up Noremma alongside Gildon as opposed to it being a fan's main focus, so that's led to my personal disdain for it/it being a red flag when it comes to my personal content enjoyment lol)
#Gilda and Don are one of my fav platonic duos they're bffs to me #I don't think queer platonic Rayemma counts in this context since this is about romantic ships... I'm an Emmay girly #also one-sided Norray headcanon is funny to me I loooove it I'm the ceo of that headcanon actually #NOT on Ray's side I'm not like other girls and hc that it's Norman who has a crush on him
Prolonged unrequited pining is 2sad5me but I'm not sure of all the specifics of your brand of one-sided Norray.
And Don is a defender of lesbians and biggest champion of Gildayshe. To me. <3
#I'm more of a rarepair person tbh... I think my fav romantic ship is Gildanna!!! I don't play about them don't even joke I #my other favs are Gildayshe Annat Cecikrone Olizackpepe (yes 3 of them though maybe I have a special fondness of Olizack) and Viogillian!!! #I like Gillian and Nigel's relationship in general too but idk if it counts really #I think Paula and Gillian are cute too! I think about them sometimes
Fellow Gildayshe, Cecilron, Natanna, and Olizack shipper 🤝(Pepe is a cool addition to the latter though I'm slightly biased toward Pepe/Sandy due to this post putting the idea in my head lol)
I was debating about putting Nigellian on there the list since it wasn't one of the options for this poll despite it probably being at least in the same ballpark of popularity as Gildemma and the pair getting their own section in the third light novel due to their popularity, but I also feel like I haven't seen it pop up anywhere near as much as the eight listed human ships on twitter. Tragic in that they're each my favorite to pair up with the other. </3
1.) *Yes, I have multiple ships I'm very fond of/passionate about, and at least one of them is one of the nine listed popular fandom ships 2.) **Yes, I have multiple ships I'm very fond of/passionate about, and none of them are one of the nine listed popular fandom ships 3.) ***Yes, I have one popular fandom ship I'm very fond of and a few I more casually ship 4.) ****Yes, I have one uncommon/rare ship I'm very fond of and a few I more casually ship 8.) *****Yes, but pretty casually/more as an afterthought, and none of the ones I ship casually are among the more popular fandom ships 9) ******No; I can see why people ship some characters romantically, but there are no ships that are appealing to me in this series
For the purposes of this poll, these are considered popular fandom ships:
Noremma (Norman x Emma)
Rayemma (Ray x Emma)
Norray (Norman x Ray)
Norrayemma (Norman x Ray x Emma)
Gildon (Gilda x Don)
Rayanna (Ray x Anna)
LesIsa/Lesbella (Leslie x Isabella)

Would it be okay to ask you a question about tagging and stuff? I just started watching critical role with the new campaign and I want to start a tumblr to write fic and maybe try some art but I don't know how I should tag things. I've seen a lot of people complaining in the critical role tag about seeing stuff they don't like and I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.
It's probably a pretty good time to make a post about tagging and labeling posts for the Critical Role fandom, since there are likely a lot of new people coming in with the new campaign who aren't aware of the etiquette within the fandom.
For the most part, in the Critical Role fandom, people tag anything having to do with the show with "Critical Role", for better or worse. Some people feel it's more respectful to not tag ship and anti ship posts in the main tag, but the general practice within the fandom is that anything can go in the main tag as long as it's about the show. Which option you choose to go with is entirely up to you.
But it is respectful to be very thorough with you tags both so that people can more easily see content that they want to see, and so that people can blacklist content they DON'T want to see. If your post is about a particular ship, use the ship's tag on that post. Most ships are going to have specific ship names (usually a portmanteau of the characters' names), and in the case that they don't, the usual way to tag ships is to put an "x" between the characters' names (so, for example, if someone made a post about, let's say, Orna and Molly, you would tag it "Orna x Molly"). If you're not sure if a ship has a portmanteau, you generally just make a post int he Critical Role tag to ask and someone will give you an answer. These sorts of tags are generally used for romantic pairings, but a few people will tag any post about the characters with the ship tags.
There are two reasons to make sure that you properly tag ships. The first is that it makes it easier for people who ship that pairing to find those posts without having to wade through the main Critical Role tag. They can go straight to the ship's tag and see all that content without having to scroll through a million other posts about the show. The second is that there are going to be people who don't want to see stuff about that ship, whether it's because they just aren't into it and the amount of stuff about it in the main Critical Role tag is overwhelming, or because there's something about the pairing that upsets them or that they find triggering, or any other number of things. Using the ship's tags for your posts allows these people to add that tag to their blacklist on xkit and tumblr savior, which will block those posts from their view.
When making a post that is negative about a ship or character, it's respectful to tag it with anti tags, especially if you're posting it in the main Critical Role tag. A lot of people don't do this, but it really would be nice if it became a more common practice. To make sure your post is appropriately tagged with "anti" tags, just add "anti" before the ship name. So if you're making a post that's negative about Molly and Nott's relationship, you would tag it "anti Molly x Nott", or if you're making a post that's negative about Beau and Yasha's relationship, you would tag it as "anti beauyasha" (I think that's the ship's portmanteau. If I'm wrong, just swap it out for the right ship name. You get the point). This will let people add those anti tags to their blacklist on xkit and tumblr savior so that they don't have to see negative posts about the ships that they love or that are important to them.
If you think that the content of a post might be triggering to some people in any way, it's usually best to just be safe and tag it with trigger warnings. I'm not sure what the best way to tag for trigger warnings is, but I've seen a lot of people adding "tw" after the term. So things like "blood tw" or "drug use tw" or "self harm tw". Again, this will help people who find these things triggering or upsetting from having to see them, allowing them to add those tags to their blacklists.
If you're posting art or fic, or really anything that's either not safe for work or for young eyes, you really should post it under a "read more" cut. I don't think this has been a topic of discussion in the fandom at all, not since I've been in the fandom at least, but it's something that's really important to remember. There are a lot of young fans in this fandom that shouldn't be forced to see inappropriate behave just by scrolling through the tags. There are also people who use their time during work breaks or their commutes to go through the tags. And there are also just people who aren't comfortable with such content who shouldn't be forced to see it just because they're going through the tags. So put that stuff under a cut and make sure you label it very clearly so that people know what they're going to get if they click on the read more. The recent filters that tumblr has added don't catch a lot of stuff (and they catch a lot of stuff that's not objectionable at all), so be respectful of everyone and put that stuff under a cut. Also, pop a "nsfw" tag on there. A lot of people have that tag blacklisted for that specific reason.
Here's some advice about posting fic that I just recently received when I asked about how best to label things. You should absolutely add ship and character tags to every fic for the reasons I gave earlier. But also remember that if someone doesn't have a term blacklisted, or if they're not in the ship's specific tag, they're not going to see those tags until they get to the bottom of the posts. So some people might read a fic or some of a fic without knowing what they're getting. That's why it's a good idea to label these things at the top of the fic. Whether you do it in the post's subject line or you put a little paragraph at the very start of the post before getting to the story, make sure you're letting people know what characters and ships the post is about, what the rating of the fic is, and warnings for any potentially triggering content. You'll probably get more readers if you make sure your fics are well labeled, and you'll definitely have happier readers.
Alright, that's all I can think of! If I missed anything or if anyone has anything to add, go ahead!

So I understand that horchata is niall and nick ... but I don't get where the name comes from? I've been trying for minutes ... sorry, could you maybe explain? 🙈thank you!!
all good honey!! honestly...that’s a good question and i wish i had a better answer other than: i think its a intrafandom thing? like it originated somewhere on here and then people just ran with it collectively bc of how small the fan following for the pairing is.
i think perchance it’s bc horan and how nick pronounces it a particular way? and that they’re a robust kinda sweetness together? iunno!
i like it because it’s v cute and 1d is kinda boring w their portmanteaus lol.
