There are more than two spiders in my room which I think is too many spiders? A room of mine’s size, yeah one spider is useful, and maybe 2 is good but I am concerned about population density
What do they know that i don’t
#nightblogging#spiders#personal#ish#I was having an ant problem and I think they’re carpenter ants maybe so anyways more spiders in the house is good#none of the ones around here are able to put dangerous venom in humans#like either they can’t pierce human skin or their venom isn’t a problem if you’re not allergic#and I’ve never be allergy tested but I have had a negative reaction to lanelin and so avoid skin products and also wool and sheep#like out of caution mostly which is why I was briefly interested in raising angora rabbits which don’t have that in their wool#because felting looks like it could make cool things but my skin has melted in response to lanelin in the past?#wdll specifically I was already having troubles but it didn’t help#and even if it doesn’t do so much damage on its own it certainly exacerbates preexisting problems#anyways midnight anaphylaxis by spider would be A Way to go I guess#but the problem isn’t the spiders themselves so much as what they imply#and I don’t know what that is#at least two species are represented so it’s possible that one might predate one or more other spiders???#i don’t know but I am uneasy about all the arachnids#I’m always anxious and stressed to the point that my stress has given me symptoms of so much shit#but the spiders are just another reason for this I guess. or something to project onto#my life is literary and the spiders are symbolic of my own issues in some grand narrative or whatever. like that gun#that legally i can’t know about but i do bc some things are too absurd I guess?#it was so fucking poetic. symbolic of their family relationship. I don’t know shit about the people#and also you cannot legally inherit a gun#excepting maybe muskets I guess#and the shagginess of that dog just adds to it#I think that I am guilty of accessory to some kind of misdemeanor or something for discussing this maybe#it is past midnight and I’m posting this now#completely out of it and irrational#to get something fucking out there to vent or whatever the fuck

US - Accountable
Summary: Sans steps in and takes a beating that was meant for Papyrus. He's already forgiven his attackers by the time it's over, so it's strange to him that Papyrus and Muffet are still upset about it.
Sans wasn’t certain why everyone was so upset about it. It wasn’t much to be concerned about. Of course, when the first blows rained down and bone chipped under fierce knuckles, Sans had found the pain more than a little unpleasant. The kicks were unnecessary and the name-calling was rude but Sans was as strong as he was proud. He could outlast them—and he did. He took the victory simply for the fact that he got up again when it was over.
Strangely, Papyrus didn’t seem to see it that way. The whole walk home, he was skittish and shivering, clutching Sans’ hand like a lifeline. Now here was Muffet, hissing and spitting angrily as she patted a warm, damp cloth against the cracks in his nasal bone and jaw.
She really didn’t have to bother, he told her, idly swinging his legs where she had set him on the counter. Skeletons didn’t bleed easily; it would need to be a much deeper wound than this to need staunching. It really wasn’t necessary—
“The necessity is as I say it is!” Muffet snapped, startling him with the severity in her voice as she tipped his head back for a better angle. “You hush about my treatments and tell me instead how many there were pitting against you!”
“Four,” Papyrus piped up tremulously, earning a sharp glance that made him wince. “Sans was standing up for me. It was all my fault—”
“No, no, brother, don’t think that!” Sans protested, twisting to look at him and then yipping out a small “Ow!” as Muffet tugged him back into position. His eye sockets narrowed in exasperation as he insisted, “It wasn’t anyone’s fault; they just didn’t understand. They didn’t know about Papy’s HP so when I saw them trying to roughhouse with him, I invited them to play with me instead!”
“They weren’t playing! Playing shouldn’t make your face all black and blue!”
“It’s just extra magic kicking up along the seams of these scrapes. They’re like little bruises; nothing is as bad as it looks. It will all go away soon!”
“Well, all of those boys should go away! They’re mean and dirty and if you’re not gonna be mad at them for hurting you, I’ll be mad at them myself! I hate them!”
“Papyrus!” Sans’ warning voice was old instinct. “That’s not what I’ve taught you, is it? We can’t hate people; we’re supposed to be kind, we’re supposed to set an example so they know how to be kind too!”
Papyrus’ humility in the face of his brother’s rebuke, however, seemed to have fallen lax. Squaring up, eyelights flashing crimson, he shot back, “Well, you’re not the biggest boss of me anymore! Miss Muffet’s in charge and I know she’s mad at them too!”
“Yes, but the laws against stringing up ugly little termites like them are savvy. No loopholes to spin,” the arachnid huffed.
Rather astounded by her agreement, Sans sputtered, flinging his hands. “When has being mean ever made anything better? I don’t want to hurt them; if we try really hard and we show them how cool we are, maybe we can be friends! It’s in the past now. I forgive them! Once you heal me, ma’am, it’ll be like it never happened. I don’t understand—”
“It’s not fair!” Tears burst down Papyrus’ face before the echo of his cry even faded. Scrubbing violently at the evidence, he choked out, “You always forgive them even when they’re horrible to you—and they only get worse because you get in the way of them hurting me! I just wanna protect you too but I-I’m not strong enough; I can’t make them stop. All I can do is hate them but you don’t want that either so how—how am I s’posed to help you?!”
Soul sinking to his toes, Sans found himself with nothing to say as his brother buried himself in one of Muffet’s free arms. Even as she stroked the back of Papyrus’ skull, she brushed her other thumbs over Sans’ battered cheekbones, earning an uneasy flinch.
“You help by being the witness, dearie,” she stated grimly. “Because cruelties like these shouldn’t be brushed away with the flies. You shouldn’t pretend they never happen. They need to be kept in account.”
“But—” Sans’ hushed protest was promptly cut off.
“It isn’t a kindness to let cruel monsters have their way. Forgiveness isn’t forgetfulness. Is it kindness to let your brother cry in fear for you? Hmm? Is it kindness to dismiss my worries and pretend all is well, as if I can’t be trusted to know these goings-on?”
“That…I don’t mean to make you fret…”
“Do you trust me to care for you both, bone hatchlings?”
“Oh, no, it’s not like that! I know you care! You’ve proven that time and time again!”
“Do you trust me to protect you?” Though Sans’ expression didn’t change, the answer was clear to Muffet when his jaw set under her hands. She persisted regardless. “Do you trust me to guard, as being your guardian means? If I were there on the scene, I would have been the one to take that step in and play their game in Papyrus’ place.”
“No, ma’am.” It was the bluntest he had been so far, less of a disagreement and more of a flat-out refusal. “Defending Papyrus is my job.”
Precisely the answer she was banking on. Tilting her head, Muffet countered slowly and firmly. “Then is it a kindness to lie down and take it, if you’re all that’s between them and your brother’s scrap of HP? How can you be his defense proper if you can’t—or won’t—keep yourself safe first? What happens if you let them swat you down and then you can’t get back up to help him?”
“I wouldn’t let that happen!”
“So you would stop them then?”
“I—Well, it doesn’t matter what they do! I can always get back up,” he swore, heels knocking the cabinets beneath the counter. “I can do anything!”
“Not yet, my sweet. You’ve not thought yet of all the ways they can rot you. But all those clock hands ago, you came to me for my help—when Papyrus was hurting and you didn’t know how to make him safe.” Sans’ indignant posture shrank at the reminder. “I’m still here with help to offer, Sans. If you insist to have charge of him, I insist to have charge of you.”
If Sans had any objection to that, he didn’t have time to voice it as Muffet’s arms slid under his to set him back on the floor.
“Change into some looser clothes, if you wish for it, and then meet me and your Papyrus outside,” she instructed as she pulled Papyrus up to carry on her hip, “or you can come as you are. No matter. Just come in your best-judged condition to defend him.”
Sans stiffened, eyelights flicking back and forth across the room to find no immediate threat before recentering on their host. “F-From what? I don’t understand. What’s going to happen?”
“You’ve sampled their tasteless offense and think it is the only kind out there to try its luck against you.” For the first time that Sans could recall, Muffet’s fangs proved intimidating as she grinned. “It’s time I teach you how to dance.”
________________________________________
A/N: Muffet proceeded to win several rounds of "Capture The Papyrus," while Sans had to face the hard lesson that pacifism and self-defense (as well as brother defense) can't always go hand in hand. He's got to know how and be willing to protect himself if he wants to protect his loved ones. Maybe there's more for him to learn about being a "guardian."
As for Papyrus, Muffet is sure to show him a thing or two about dodging like a spider. It will probably come in handy someday.

Shattered Glass Animated Season 1 Episode 1 - Transform and Rise Up!, Part 1
Stellar-cycles after the Great War has ended, a group of Decepticon - explorers encounter an artifact believed to be long lost. But they aren’t the only ones who desire it’s power...
“Many millions of years ago, war raged between the forces of the heroic Autobots and the brutal Decepticons for the control of the planet Cybertron. The Autobots battled valiantly in the name of honor, their courageous exploits bringing hop and glory to a beleaguered, war – torn planet and inspiring countless generations of young robots yet to come online.”
“Don’t you ever get tired of listening to that slag, oh great and glorious leader?”
Megatron, leader of the great Decepticon armies (or what remained of them these days) turned around in his seat to face the mech currently leaning on his door-frame, servos crossed and a smirk on his face plate.
Megatron couldn’t help but smile at the sight of his loyal second-in-command and friend. “Do you not find it interesting what they have to say about us, now that the Great War is over and they’ve driven us into exile, where we will never be able to object to this re-telling of events?”
“Honestly? No. Not one bit.”
Megatron chuckled, a sad gleam in his blue optics. “I suppose I shouldn’t either. Perhaps this is just my way of punishing myself, for having failed you all.”
A servo clasped his shoulder, making him look up. Starscream was looking at him, expression a lot softer now.
“You did not fail us. You led us to freedom from the Autobot tyranny. And in time you will lead us to greatness. I know you will.”
“You are too kind to me, Starscream,” Megatron responded, smiling softly. “But I know cheering me up would not be your only reason for coming here.”
“And you would be right. I am here to inform you that we are getting close to the coordinates. I figured you would like to be on the bridge, to see for yourself.”
Megatron nodded, turning his seat to switch off the monitor. “I will be there shortly. Go on ahead.” ___________________________________________________________
Starscream stepped onto the bridge, thoughts still on Megatron. His leader’s apparent lethargy worried him. He had always known that Megatron took their defeat rather close to spark and with how many sacrifices and losses they had suffered, Starscream certainly couldn’t blame him.
Still, it disturbed him to see how bad Megatron’s mental condition actually seemed to have become over the last decacycles. Sure, their quest for the ancient artifact called the Allspark had been fruitless up until now, but they had managed to get at least a little grasp on the new empire and one could even say the Decepticons at large were slowly recovering.
Starscream had felt a kind of...tired, but steady hopefulness going around when they had last been on New Kaon that only seemed to increase the closer the date of their next expedition came. Whether it was the Decepticons finding strength in their leader still not giving up his search for a new future and a second chance or if the ever-present routine of finding what scarce resources the new colonies provided had given them something to hold onto, Starscream couldn’t say.
Perhaps it was a combination of the two.
The Decepticons had been defeated, but not broken.
They would return home someday. Real home. And Megatron would lead them there, Starscream knew it in his spark.
Pulling himself out of his daze, he crossed his servos and steered his attention to the Nemesis’ large front monitor. According to it, they were only a few cycles away from their destination, an asteroid field. Starscream didn’t like to admit it, but he was feeling uneasy.
He had no doubt the ‘Nemesis’ would be able to pull through without problems, she was one of their finest ships after all, but the area was Autobot - territory. And although their data stated it had been long abandoned, with only a few repair-bots being send to check up on a nearby space bridge from time to time, due to it being on the farthest outskirts of the Autobot-Empire, there was still the risk of them being spotted.
They had barely managed to get away from the Autobots at the end of the war. Drawing their attention as a Decepticon was a guarantee for going off-line these solar cycles. The Empire was determined to see them extinct, even more than they had been all these stellar cycles ago, when Megazarak had founded the Decepticons. Amnesty and exile hardly mattered, when a ‘bot could always claim that it had been the Decepticon who had attacked first and that the ensuing gruesome slaughter of said Decepticon was entirely justified and in self-defense.
“We are flying into our death,” a deep voice growled behind him. Starscream didn’t need to turn around to see who it was. His claws started digging themselves into his lower arms.
“Megatron wouldn’t lead us anywhere he knew our sparks would be in danger, Lugnut,” he replied coldly.
With a derisive huff, a giant Decepticon with a single blue optic, currently narrowed with doubt, stepped up next to him.
“Is that not what he has been doing for the last 4 million solar-cycles? Spending precious time and resources on a futile search across the galaxy, promising our people hope in form of a long-lost relic. Perhaps it would be better for us all if-”
“’If another stepped forward to lead the Decepticon-cause into a glorious new age away from the Autobot - Empire.’, yeah, yeah. We all remember that little speech from the last hundred times you gave it, Lugnut,” another voice, this time female cut in.
The door to the bridge had opened to admit two more Decepticons, one a small femme with arachnid-like features and two stingers that seemed to be slightly bent out of shape protruding from her shoulders, the other a mech about Starscream’s height, wearing a soft, only slightly nervous smile. “Now, now Blackarachnia, I believe we are all a little on edge,” he said, in a thick accent Starscream had never quite been able to place. “Turning on one another will not help us. We should work together in these trying times.”
“Tell that to Doombot over here,” Blackarachnia snarled, jabbing her thumb at Lugnut and stomping right over to one of the ships’ control panels. Lugnut huffed. “You were not there, insect! You did not experience the horrors and tragedies the Great War has heaped upon us. If you did, you would not speak out of turn so easily. Mark my words, Megatron’s delusions will doom us all!” Starscream whirled around at that, glaring furiously up at him. “How dare you-!” Before he could finish, the doors swooped open again, revealing Megatron on the other side. The sadness and insecurity had left his face plate to be replaced by a neutral but steady expression. One of his optical sensors extended a bit, upon seeing how tense his fellow Decepticons were. Feeling a sense of shame rise up in their chest-plates, all of them quickly stood at attention to both sides of the bridge’s main platform. Megatron, being roughly able to imagine just what had taken place before he entered the room, sighed sadly and made his way over to the command chair, nodding to each of them as he passed them by. He knew he couldn’t exactly expect them to stay perfectly calm under these circumstances, but it still pained him to see them that nervous and on edge. “Starscream. How long until we arrive at our destination?” he asked, taking a seat. “Not much longer,”his second-in-command replied, positioning himself to the chair’s right. “We should reach the coordinates at any-” An alarm flared up on one of the monitors, making their heads turn. Blackarachnia hurried over to the console and typed in a few commands. The monitor displayed a graph in response, detailing recent energy readings. Her optical sensors widened. “Unbelievable...these readings...Megatron, they’re off the scale!” A stunned silence fell upon the room as every bot slowly realized what this discovery could mean. “Let us not rush ahead,” Megatron said finally, fighting to keep his voice calm. “Are the sensors properly adjusted? Did you scan at the right coordinates?” “Yes and yes. And that means...” “We found it,” Starscream finished quietly, lip plates slowly stretching into a wide smile. “After so many stellar-cycles,” Blitzwing muttered, staring at the screen in awe. Lugnut said nothing, his single optic tightening the only indicator that this discovery had affected him at all. “Blackarachnia,” Megatron said, servos tightening on the command chair’s armrest. “Can you pinpoint its exact location?” The techno-organic seemed to be in a  bit of a stupor. Hearing his voice, she jumped a bit, but then quickly composed herself and tapped something into the keyboard. “It’s pretty strong,” she said. “But I managed to at least narrow its location down to somewhere around the asteroid field.” Megatron gave her an approving nod and stood up. “Good work. Blitzwing, Lugnut, Starscream. Come with me. Blackarachnia, continue to monitor us from the bridge. Contact us, should anything change or if another vessel approaches.“ Blackarachnia nodded and turned back to the monitors. The other Decepticons made their way down to the airlock. Once the hatch opened, Megatron signaled them to follow. “Decepticons, transform and rise up!” The mechanical whirring and clicking of four bots changing their forms from robots to flying machines filled the tunnel, followed by the roar of jet propulsion as they took off, flying into the dark emptiness. The asteroid field was hard to miss. It filled a large chunk of their view, with rocks of all sizes floating this way and that, as they had done for presumably millennia. Nothing about it served to tell it apart from the million other ones of its kind, nothing apart from the steadily stronger energy reading emanating from it. The Decepticons flew in, careful to dodge the occasional stray asteroid as they did so. “We will break into two groups. Blitzwing, Lugnut, search the upper right part. Starscream and I will take the left. Contact us as soon as you find something,” Megatron ordered, already changing course. As soon as they had gotten a few miles into the field, both Megatron and Starscream changed back into robot-mode, activating their scanners. “Who would have thought?” Megatron mused, a lopsided smile on his faceplate. “50 billion stellar-cycles of searching and the place where we finally find the AllSpark might turn out to be a rock on an outskirt of the empire.” “Better than a rock floating in the inner circle of the empire,” Starscream replied, grinning and moving the scanner on his left servo up and down one of the asteroids. “I suppose you are right.” For a while both of them said nothing as they scanned each of the rocks carefully. ”Starscream,” Megatron said suddenly. “If this expedition, too, proves fruitless, should I resign?” The other Decepticon turned to stare at him. “What makes you say that?” Megatron shrugged, smiling sadly. “I am merely thinking about our future. What kind of a leader am I to be, when all I have to show for my leadership are a lost war and the chase for a ghost?” He felt servos clasping his shoulders and all of a sudden he was abruptly turned around, face to face with a very angered Starscream. ”Do not say that! You have given Decepticon-kind so much. It is because of you that we’re here, that we’re free! Megatron, I-,” Starscream clenched his denta and looked downward, faceplate flushing as if he was ashamed of what he was about to say. “You are our leader. Megazarak chose you. And no matter what anyone might say, I will remain by your side. Always.” Megatron stared at him, baffled and awed by his words. Slowly, he lifted a servo to his friends’ faceplate. “Starscream...” Before he could say anything more, both of their scanners piped up at the same time. The two of them moved apart immediately turning their helms into the direction indicated to them. A small asteroid floated alongside them. It was entirely unremarkable and if not for their scans, they would have not doubt missed it completely. Except for one thing: a tiny glimmer shining through a thin crack on its surface. Optics never leaving the light, Megatron raised a servo to his audial to activate his comlink. “Lugnut, Blitzwing. Come to Starscream’s and my position.” ”Have you found it?” Blitzwing’s voice sounded over the frequency, a silver of excitement in it. ”We might have,” Megatron answered. A few seconds later, all four Decepticons were gathered around the rock. ”Should we blast it out?” Starscream asked, cocking his helm. ”No. It might be damaged,” Megatron answered. He crossed his servos and tapped his chin thoughtfully. Finally, he turned to Blitzwing. “Use your ice canons to freeze the area around it. Take care not to hit it directly.” Blitzwing nodded, looking slightly nervous. Lowering his canons, he fired two concentrated blast of ice around the crack. Once he was finished, Megatron gave him an approving pat on the shoulder and turned to Lugnut. ”Shatter it. But do not use your explosives.” Lugnut inclined his head towards him, then floated over to the asteroid, as the rest of the team took cover. He raised his right servo and brought it down on the asteroid’s surface. The stone shattered with a loud crack, ice and rock shards flying and stopping to float. The light, once dimmed by its coarse prison, now shone unimpeded, a warm, stark white-blue glow that engulfed everything around it. Now that the asteroid’s surface no longer covered it, the Decepticons could see it was some sort of hexagonal container, iron handles all round it. The four of them stared at it in awe. Megatron was the first of them to regain his senses. ”We must get it back on to the ship,” he said, already activating his thrusters to move towards the artifact. The others quickly followed him, still to dazzled to speak. Unbeknownst to them, a small ship, hidden a few yards away behind some asteroids was watching their every move. _____________________________________________________________ Onboard the Autobot ship, a young Autobot named Optimus Prime narrowed his bright red optics at his scanner. The black markings on his face-plate, evoking the image of a black beard shifted as he twisted his lip plates into a snarl. It had detected four signatures near the enormous energy reading he and his underlings had been following. And that was unacceptable for two reasons: One was that the Decepticons had been crushed by the Autobot empire stellar-cycles ago. Ultra Magnus, in an unusual moment of mercy (and senility, if you asked Optimus) had granted them the chance to drag their miserable chassis out of the Autbots’ territory. Yet here these four were, prancing around in it as if they had every right to. It was an insult. Second was that they were entirely too close to the energy reading for his liking. If any bot was to get their servos on the AllSpark, the artifact of legends from which all sparks had been formed it would be him. It was his destiny, Optimus knew, just like it was his destiny to lead. When he had dragged this crew of insubordinate malfunctions together, he’d sworn to himself to make their oh-so-esteemed Magnus pay for exiling him and he fully intended to fulfill that vow. But to do that, he needed power. And a lot of it. His dark green servos tightened into fists as he glared at the offending four little red dots on his display. “Well, here’s a surprise,” an older bot mused, lazily leaning back in his console chair, green and black colored armorplating creaking in protest. “And here I thought we were the only bots crazy enough to enter this spark-forsaken sector.” Optimus raised his helm to give the old bot a seething look. A renowned field medibot Ratchet may be, but Optimus held no love for the older bots’ attitude. There seemed to be nothing he truly took seriously and his lack of respect often drove Optimus to reconsider just how much he needed this old rust-bucket. However he was still a lot less irritating than... “Well? Are we going to interfere, or are you going to just watch and let them get away?” ...Prowl. The meager alleged Ninjabot, who’s armorplating’s stark wide coloration had always struck Optimus to be more than a bit contradictory to his profession had turned around to give him his usual condescending look, somehow even visible underneath the red visor covering up his optics. An oil-curdling giggle rose from the left-most panel, but it immediately subsided once Optimus turned his attention to the offender, a small bot with white and black armorplating and slightly riffled lip plates. Optimus sneered. Bumblebee was a no-good coward and a sadist, but at least he knew when to mute it. Perhaps that was why he seemed to get along with Bulkhead so well. The big, purple, hulking giant of a bot seemingly had nothing to say to this matter. Then again, that would have required for anything to go on in that thick processor of his, Optimus thought. Turning his attention back to Prowl he said: “We’ll act as soon as I say so, Prowl. I haven’t spend the better part of my life-cycle searching for the AllSpark so you no-good malfunctions could let it slip through your digits through ineptitude.” “No-good malfunctions, huh?” Prowl chuckled. “Do remind me again, who of us it was that got dishonorably discharged from the Elite Guard?” The other Autobots tensed up at that, optics automatically flickering to Optimus, who had gone deadly silent. Then, all of a sudden, he lifted his right servo and before Prowl could react, a grappling hook shot out of an appendage and wrapped itself around his throat tightly. Prowls gasped, grabbing at the wire to no avail as Optimus coldly looked down on him from the elevated platform. “Perhaps I was being unclear when I picked you off of that dirty little rock in the middle of nowhere,” he said quietly, raising his upper servo and tightening the wire even more in the process. “But I intend to change this empire from the ground up. And once I finally have the power to do so, its old, antiquated institution, the Elite Guard,” he spat the last two words out as if they were poisoned oil, “will be crushed. Along with the high council, the Decepticons and any other bot who believes he can oppose me and stay online. Now tell me Prowl....” Optimus slowly retreated the wire back into its slot, forcing Prowl to stagger along until Optimus glowered right over him and the smaller bot was practically dangling before the control panel, desperately trying to free himself and reactivate the energon-flow through his intake. The remaining Autobots just sat by and watched, Bumblebee especially fascinated. “Are you such a bot?” Prowl opened his intake to say something, but only managed a few puny squeaks. Optimus smirked. “Good. I’m glad we agree.” He abruptly retrieved the rest of his grappling hook, harshly dumping Prowl on the floor and watching with satisfaction as he struggled to his feet, coughing and rubbing his throat. He re-directed his gaze to the monitor, optics narrowing. “Follow them, but don’t let them detect us. I want to know just who we’re dealing with.” Ratchet chuckled. “You’re the boss.” Engines set low, the ship slowly drifted after the small group of Decepticons, using the occasional asteroid as a cover. It didn’t take long for the giant red ship to be detected. Optimus leaned forward, optics widening at the sight. He had never seen it prior to this encounter, but in his academy days he had heard plenty of stories about the Nemesis. One of the finest ships in the Decepticon fleet, she eclipsed their own vessel with her size. The Decepticon emblem on her hull seemed to mock them as their ship floated towards it. But it wasn’t just her size that made Optimus think. The Nemesis had been and presumably still was a command ship. And if she still held that title, then the Decepticon who commanded her had to be- “Megatron,” he heard Ratchet whisper from his seat. “Well I’ll be.” “The leader of the Decepticon rebellion?” Prowl asked skeptically. “What would he be doing in the outskirts of the empire?” “Most likely the same thing we’re doing,” Ratchet answered bluntly. “Our ships are not the only ones that can track energy signals.” Optimus tuned them out to think. A direct confrontation was out of the question. Their ship was equipped with some weaponry but not enough by far to challenge a Decepticon warship. Ambushing the group of Decepticons they had detected while they were still outside the ship was also not an option. Autobots generally didn’t fare well in aerial battles. But just remaining where he was and watching Decepticon - scum take off with the artifact he had been searching for for so long? Never. Optimus cursed in his mind and glared at the ship still taking up most of the view outside. He wished he could just reach out and somehow crush its core from the inside- the inside? Optimus grinned. Here was an idea. An idea that would not only get him the AllSpark, but also rid the Empire of its biggest menace. He would go down in history as the Autobot who finally defeated Megatron! He looked up. “Contact the Elite Guard on Cybertron.” Prowl turned to look at him, raising the upper left edge of his visor. “That old, antiquated institution you intend to crush?” Optimus’ optics narrowed. “Precisely.” “Hah!” Ratchet guffawed. “This oughtta be good.” Optimus ignored him and kept his eyes trained on the monitor. An image of another Autobot flared up. He seemed to be roughly the same age as Optimus, with a garish orange-green color scheme. The bot nodded in greeting. “Optimus. I hadn’t heard from you in quite a while. It’s good to see you’re still online, old friend.” “Likewise. Unfortunately I have no time to chat, Sentinel. I have just discovered two things that might be of great interest to us.” “What would that be?” Optimus smirked. “The AllSpark. And Megatron.” Sentinel’s optics widened. “Are you certain? On both?” “Positive,” Optimus nodded. “But in order for everything to go smoothly, I need you to deactivate and intercept any warp frequency in wide-mile radius of these coordinates. You still hold the title of Ultra Magnus’ second-in-command, don’t you? It should be easy for you to get access to the corresponding space bridges.” “I do,” Sentinel answered, though there was some hesitation in his voice. “But our esteemed Magnus has grown suspicious of me lately, Optimus. I don’t know for how long I’ll be able to keep this a secret with him shadowing me.” “It won’t take too long. A solar-cycle should be enough. And when its over, we’ll have the most powerful energy source in the universe and Cybertron’s most wanted war criminal to present.” Sentinel thought about this for a moment. Then he nodded. “One solar-cycle. That’s all I can do.” “It’s more than enough. Thank you Sentinel.” “Optimus.” Optimus looked up to meet his old squadmates’ stern optics. “Bring him in alive. His capture will be more effective, if he is brought before a court and executed on Cybertron before the masses.” Optimus grinned. “If there’s anything left of him by the time I’m done, I’ll deliver it to you gift-wrapped.” The monitor went dark, ending the transmission. Optimus turned to Ratchet. “Bring us as close to the ship as possible without them detecting us. You three!” He pointed at Bumblebee, Prowl and Bulkhead. “Come with me.” “Where to? Out there?” Prowl sneered, jabbing his digit at the void, though he got up when both Bumblebee and Bulkhead did. “Later,” Optimus told him, already heading for the door. A menacing smile spread across his face-plate. “First we’re going to get a little something from the cargo hold. And then we will pay this ship of theirs a visit.”
______________________________________________________________ The control room of the Nemesis was filled with a soft white glow, as the Decepticons entered it. Megatron carried the container to the middle of the bridge, putting it down as softly as if it were a newly formed sparkling - or a ticking time-bomb. For a while, none of them spoke a single word. The only sound was the faint pulsing of the AllSpark. “Huh,” Blackarachnia said eventually. “I thought it would be bigger.” Blitzwing turned his head to her, smiling. “Well to be fair, it is still about a fourth your size.” Blackrachnia grinned and punched his servo lightly. “Blow it out your actuator, three-face.” “We should get it to New Kaon as fast as possible,” Starscream said, looking at Megatron. “We are still in Autobot territory. The longer we stay, the higher the risk of us being detected.” Megatron nodded, though his optics remained on the AllSpark at first. “You are right as usual, Starscream. We cannot let felicity paralyze us. It is time to return home and think about our next step.” Lugnut’s optic narrowed. “What is there to think? We have the AllSpark. Now is the time to gather our forces and strike!” “Attacking the Autobot Empire blindly in our current state would lead to more harm than good,” Megatron replied, calmly meeting Lugnut’s optic. “The AllSpark is certainly a welcome find, but we should not rely on it completely in the battles to come. We need coordination and a well thought-out strategy.” Lugnut huffed. “And how long will it take you to think up such a strategy? Long enough for our supplies to finally run out? Long enough for our people to rust away on the miserably spark-forsaken rocks we call our colonies? The Decepticons are tired of waiting, Megatron! You might shut off your optics to it, but I’ve seen the desperation in the cities. Already splinter groups are forming. If you truly wish to save us, then act instead of placating us with empty speeches!” Megatron opened his intake to answer, but Starscream beat him to it. “You are out of line, Lugnut!” he snarled, stepping forward and glaring up at the bigger Decepticon. “Unlike you, Megatron is not willing to sacrifice dozens of our already decimated numbers to the empire’s armies.” “You are just as blind as he is!” Lugnut shouted. “If it were up to the two of you, we would remain huddled on New Kaon for all eternity!” Blackarachnia and Blitzwing who had stopped half-way to their control panels, seemed slightly lost now, their optics flittering nervously between Starscream and Lugnut. “Isn’t that just so like you, Lugnut!” Starscream spat. “All brawns and no processor!” “Enough!” Megatron roared, making both Starscream and Lugnut jump and turn to him. He sighed deeply, folding his servos and gave them both a look that was equal parts sad, tired and disappointed. “Please, this in-fighting has to stop. Can’t you see we are closer than ever to-” An ear-shattering  crash filled the air, followed by a tremor that rattled the ship in its entirety and send the Decepticons flailing. Alarms blared all over the room, deafening and anxious. Megatron, who had been thrown onto his knees by the sudden turbulence, groaned and raised his head. Automatically his optics sought Starscream and lit up a bit in relief when he spotted him struggling to his feet a few meters away, clearly rattled, but none the worse for wear. “Is everyone alright?” Megatron called, propping himself up on one knee and laying his servo onto the nearest rail for support. Affirmative groaning and the sound of shifting armorplating settled the last of his worries. A quick look around revealed Blackarachnia as the one closest to a control panel. “Blackarachnia, report! What happened?” Grabbing for hold, Blackarachnia dragged herself to her feet and jammed a few orders into the keyboard, cursing quietly and rubbing her posterior. The monitor flickered, but activated. “Well, good news is we haven’t been shot,” she stated sarcastically. “Bad news is, someone used explosives to blow a massive hole into the engine room’s hull and enter it from there. I can’t identify their energy signature, the equipment took some damage from the blast just now, but it’s definitely Cybertronian and more than one.” “Autobots!” Lugnut snapped. “We cannot be sure of that, Lugnut,” Megatron replied, standing up to his full height. “Nonetheless we should take care of these unexpected guests. Starscream, Blitzwing, come with me. Lugnut, Blackarachnia, guard the AllSpark and the bridge.” Megatron, Blitzwing and Starscream hurried down the ship’s corridors. The Nemesis’ overall condition did nothing to lift their moods: Wires and cables were hanging out of cracked walls, sparks flew at them from every corner and some of the doors seemed to be malfunctioning. Blackrachnia confirmed their fears when she piped up over their comlinks: “Boys, sorry to say but there’s more bad news: That explosive didn’t just damage the hull! We’re offline in the void!” “Of course, why not?” Starscream muttered. “Do what you can to get us mobile again and fast,” Megatron snapped. “If this was an attack by the Autobots it is more than likely it won’t be the only one today.” “I’m a medic, not a miracle worker!” Blackarchnia protested. “I’ll see what I can do, but it’ll take time!” “Which we are in relatively short supply of at the moment,” Bltzwing added nervously. The three of them rounded a corner. The engine room’s door loomed before them, smoke billowing out through its open doors. Megatron signaled Starscream and Blitzwing to stop, optics narrowing. Slowly the three of them activated their weaponry, Megatron reaching behind him and pulling out a big silver sword. “Stay behind me,” he ordered silently. “Be on guard. We do not know if they are still-” A large blunt round object shot forward from the darkness behind them, aiming directly at Megatron. It hit him in the back before he could react, throwing him into the engine room, with the doors switching shut behind him. “Megatron!” Starscream shouted, him and Blitzwing already gunning for the now sealed doors. White-hot lightning struck the ceiling, from the same direction the round object had been coming from Rubble rained down and buried the remaining two Decepticons underneath it. _____________________________________________________________ Megatron groaned, pushing himself up onto his hands and knees. The impact had knocked the sword out of his hand, though thankfully it didn’t seem to have injured him. “Well, well well,” a voice rang through the darkness, echoing from the walls. “Look what the capacitor dragged in.” Megatron looked up, squinting into the smoke before him. Two piercing red lights shone through the veil, along with a looming shadow. The shadow walked forward to reveal an Autobot Megatron had never seen before, sneering and shouldering a battleaxe. “The famous leader of the Decepticons, Megatron. Truth be told, I thought you would be much harder to take down.” Megatron frowned, moving to get up, when he felt his leg hit something. His sword. Without breaking optic-contact, Megatron slowly reached out to where he’d felt its shape. “I have no memory of you from the Great War,” he said. “Who are you?” The Autobots optics flared up at that. “The name is Optimus Prime. Not that that’ll help you much. Just know that that’s the name of the Autobot who finished you.” Optimus raised the axe over his head and brought it down in a swift strike. At the same time, Megatron’s fist closed around his sword’s handle and his arm shot up. The clang of metal on metal filled the room as their blades met and interlocked. “You will find that finishing me will take  a lot more than this,” Megatron said through gritted denta, slowly pushing himself upwards against his adversary. Optimus smiled maniacally. “Good! The harder you fight, the sweeter my victory will be!” In one fluid movement, he relinquished pressure on Megatron’s blade and dodged underneath it, slicing his axe along the others arm and leaving a deep gash. Megatron cried out, sword falling out of his hand. He dodged another strike from Optimus’ axe, bringing more distance between them and raising his arm cannon. Optimus dodged the first shot, but the second hit him straight in the back, throwing him towards the destroyed engines. Megatron ran after him, cannon still raised and fired again. A grappling hook shot from the smoke, wrapping around the cannon and yanking it up towards the ceiling, just as the plasma-blast fired. Megatron jumped aside as the rubble fell, though he couldn’t avoid a particularly big piece striking his injured arm. He vented sharply, gripping the damaged limb and raising his helm, trying to locate his opponent. Optimus was walking out of the smoke, calmly shifting aside the rubble with his pede. “Don’t worry. The pain will stop soon,” he said, grinning. “And then you’ll accompany me to Cybertron, along with the AllSpark.” Megatron’s optics widened. Blackarachnia and Lugnut! He tried to reach up and activate his comlink, but Optimus zipped forward, axe raised, forcing him to parry with his bare servo. The axe cut into his plating and Megatron had to clench his denta to not give his enemy the satisfaction of hearing him cry out in pain again. “Now, now,” Optimus cooed mockingly. “Wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise for them, would you?” ______________________________________________________________ “They are taking too long,” Lugnut said, optic trained on the door. “I should have gone with them.” “And leave me here to defend the universes’ biggest battery all by myself? Yeah, no chance big guy,” Blackarachnia replied from her console. “You are more than capable or defending yourself.” “Myself, sure, but myself and the AllSpark against multiple opponents who would love nothing more than to rip me servo from servo, that’s a tiny bit trickier.” Lugnut huffed. “Point taken.” Both of them perked up, when a light scratching noise sounded from the entrance. They exchanged a look and nodded.Blackarachnia came up to position herself in front of the AllSpark, while Lugnut placed himself in front of the door, one servo raised and ready to strike. The scratching had stopped by now and the sudden silence did nothing to calm their nerves. Then it happened. An explosion tore through the door. Lugnut jumped to shield Blackarachnia with his heavily armored body, getting rained with dust and gravel in the process. When the two of them looked up again, an Autobot was standing in the doorway, an arrogant smirk on his faceplate. Lugnut growled at the sight, bringing himself up to his full height and activating the explosive on his right servo. “You will regret ever setting a pede on this ship, Autobot!” he shouted, charging and raising his arm to strike. Blackarachnia struggled to her feet, raising her stingers, but then stopped mid-motion. In a split-second she could have sworn the Autobot was---flickering? Her optics widened and she reached for Lugnut. “Lugnut wait, don’t! It’s a -” Before she could finish, Lugnut’s punch connected - or it would have, had his opponent been real. Instead his explosive hit the floor, making him stumble forward and right into it. Fire engulfed him and he staggered from the impact. Two white streaks dropped down from the ceiling, both grabbing on to one of Lugnuts arm, attaching something to his wrists that had the faint outline of an armband with a dangling ornament, which the two proceeded to connect. Lugnut reared up but then halted mid-movement, electric currents travelling all over his body and the next moment, he was lying there, completely still. “Take a break, you big bag of bolts,” the one in who’s image the decoy had been sneered. “Stasis cuffs do wonders for restlessness.” The other Autobot cackled, jumping off of Lugnut’s limp body as his hands slowly transformed into electric stingers. Blackarachnia clenched her denta. Two against one. Not exactly ideal, but she could manage. If she was quick enough, she might be able to distract them and free Lugnut to even the odds. And then a third Autobot stepped out of the dark corridor, this one much bigger than the other two, though not quite as large as her downed Decepticon friend. When he saw her, his jaw shifted to give him an expression of disgust. “The scanners only showed four. What is that thing?”he rumbled in a deep voice that didn’t exactly raise Blackarachnia’s expectation for victory. “I’m kind of complicated,” she answered, grinning sardonically. “What you might or might not be is of no importance to us,” the bot with the visor said airily, stepping forward. “You have something that we want. Surrender it now and maybe we’ll put you off-line painlessly.” He smirked. “Though I’m sure I’d speak for all of us if I say we’d prefer if you struggled.” “Is that right?” Blackarachnia said, returning their menacing grins with one of her own. “Then come and get me boys.” They all lunged at her at once, just like she’d hoped. She jumped up, landing on the big bot’s back and pressed her palms onto it. She felt her download absorbing his data and when he swatted at her she was already in the air again, landing on the ground a few feet away from Lugnut. The big Autobot roared, his hand transforming into a wrecking ball. He flailed it through the air and right at her. She nonchalantly raised a hand and caught it in her grip. “For me? Aw, you shouldn’t have,” she smirked, taking in the shocked looks on their faceplates. “Let me give you something back in turn!” Using all of her newly acquired strength, she launched the wrecking ball back at them, hitting the big Autobot right in the chest plate and making him fall over with a grunt. The bot with the visor snarled and charged at her, one hand pulling out a round object and throwing it. The round projectile transformed into a star-shaped blade and Blackarachnia dodged it barely. She picked up a flicker of movement just outside her vision and the next moment a bolt of lightning struck the ground right behind her, as she jumped away again. She cursed silently. Their attacks had driven her away from Lugnut and right into the middle of the bridge again.  A loud rustling sound behind her told her that the big guy had recovered. And if his heavy grunts were any indication, he was not happy. This was not looking good. She was surrounded on three sides and her download wouldn’t last that much longer. “Last chance to give up, boys,” Blackarachnia quipped, hoping the nervousness wasn’t creeping into her voice. “And you’d be well-advised to take it, Autbot-scum,” a voice shouted from the entrance. All four turned their heads in surprise and then all of a sudden, red blasts of energy fired into the room and at the Autobots, all of them just narrowly avoiding being hit. Blackarachnia found herself smiling. Usually she’d sigh at his need to be dramatic, but this time it gave the whole situation a special touch, she had to admit. Blitzwing stomped into the room, cannons lowered. When Blackarachnia saw his faceplate, she felt her spark sink a little. It was no longer lean with a special monocular-covering for one of his optics, but broad, with a wide, blue visor covering up both of them. He had shifted. “Thanks for the help,” she said, walking over to him with a servo on her hip. “Is Blitzwing alright, Hothead?” He huffed. “He is well enough, considering the circumstances. Though I would be lying if I said he is sparking with joy.” He grinned and cracked his knuckles, stepping forward. “He’ll cheer up fast enough once I’ve crushed those Autobots into pieces!” And with that he lunged at the mortified looking intruders, cannons raised. Blackarachnia sighed, then made her way over to Lugnut, ignoring the explosions and panicked screams that began to fill the background. She didn’t envy Blitzwing one bit. If she’d had to deal with a split-personality this easily riled up, she’d lose her mind on the second solar-cycle. The price of being a Triple Changer. And it was entirely her fault he had to pay it... Mood thoroughly ruined, she knelt down next to Lugnut and went to work on his stasis cuffs. Just then, she heard a surprised shout that made her turnher helm back to the fight.
The AllSpark was blazing. ______________________________________________________________ Megatron wrenched his arm away with a grunt, throwing Optimus backwards and struggled to his feet, clutching his injured limb. Optimus slithered to a stop across from him, smiling triumphant. “How long do you think you can keep this up, Megatron?” “As long as I have to,” Megatron answered, shakily raising his cannon again and firing. Optimus rolled to the side and dodged it. He raised his arm and released his grappling hook again, wrapping it around the hilt of Megatron’s abandoned sword and swinging it at him. Megatron caught it in his servo, flinching as the blade cut into his palm. Taking advantage of this distraction, Optimus retreated the wire, dashing forward with it and brought his axe down on the sword, hard, pushing Megatron onto his back. Megatron groaned and tried to get up, only to find Optimus’ axe blade at his neck. The Autobot smiled down at him triumphantly. “I wonder, will they elect a new leader after you’re gone? Or will they just give up?” Megatron returned his smile with a steady glare. He was not going to show this Autobot fear, not even in what could be his final moments. An ear-shattering crash sounded from the door and the next second, a sonic pulse blast hit Optimus square in the chest, throwing him across the room. “You will not lay a digit on our leader as long as I am online!” Starscream shouted, storming into the room, sonic pulse cannon still raised. Megatron couldn’t help but smile as he propped himself up on his good elbow. “Excellent timing, Starscream.” His second-in-command knelt down beside him, worry in his optics. “Megatron, you are hurt! This is my fault, I should have seen this coming, I should have-” “Starscream,” Megatron interrupted him, clasping his shoulder. “The Autobots attacked us from behind and without warning. There was nothing any one of us could have done. You saved my life. I will never be able to repay you for that.” Starscream’s faceplate flushed a little. The moment was interrupted by another loud noise, followed by a tremor. “What the spark was that?” Starscream asked, frowning. Megatron narrowed his optics, looking out of the door. “I do not know, but I believe it would be best if we regrouped with the others. The Autobot seemed keen on getting his servos on the AllSpark and I doubt his followers will be any less eager.” Starscream steadied Megatron as he  got up and they made their way towards the bridge. None of them noticed the much smaller body pulling itself out of the rubble. ______________________________________________________________ “What in the well of AllSparks-?” Megatron and Starscream stoo in the doorway to the bridge, optics wide as the AllSpark’s light grew brighter and brighter, already filling up the room. A loud humming was emanating from it, getting louder and louder with every second. “What is going on here?” Megatron shouted over the noise to Blackarachnia, who was desperately trying and failing to free Lugnut from his stasis cuffs. “Pit if I know,” she yelled back. “Those Auto-bastards attacked us and it just went off!” The AllSpark’s hum suddenly spiked,  growing so intense, everyone in the room dropped what they had been doing to clamp their hands over their audials. The light retreated into its source, only to explode out of it the very next moment. For a second it was quiet again. Then a loud electric screeching filled the room - and the ship moved. And not only the ship. Outside, asteroids and rocks of all sizes suddenly started to rapidly move in the same direction as if pulled by an unseen force. A picture of their surroundings surfaced in Starscream’s processor. “The Spacebridge,” he gasped. “It activated the Spacebridge!” “With that burst of energy just now?” Blackarachnia’s optics widened. “It will overload!” Apparently the Autobots had heard her. “Frag this nonsense!” the one with the red visor snapped. “I’m not going off-line here!” Before anyone could stop him, he activated a pair of jets on his back and propelled himself right out the doorway and into the corridor. The other two seemingly shared this sentiment and followed suit, narrowly dodging Hothead’s energy blasts as they did so. “That’s right you cowards, run!” he hollered, settling down beside the rest of the Decepticons. “And if you ever show your face again, I’ll...I’ll-!” His furious faceplate suddenly twisted around and switched to reveal Blitzwing’s exhausted one. He swayed and would have nearly toppled over if Blackarachnia hadn’t  been there to support him. “W-What happened?”he murmured, putting a hand to his forehead. “I remember me and Starscream getting buried...and then Hothead-” His head snapped up, optics fearful. “Oh dear! Did I hurt someone?” “Only bots who deserved to get hurt, three-face,” Blackarachnia smiled up at him. “Touching as this is,” Lugnut snapped from his position on the floor. “I believe there is a bigger issue at hand now!” Megatron nodded. “He is right. Blackarachnia, how long until we reach that Spacebridge?” Blackarachnia went over to her panel, then shook her helm. “Not long enough. With all the damage from the fight, there’s no way I can get us up and moving again before we get transported who knows where.” “Then we have to evacuate. And fast! Everyone to the escape pods!” Megatron shouted, drawing his sword and cutting through Lugnut’s stasis cuffs. “Help me carry the AllSpark!” Together they carried the AllSpark hurriedly to the pod section. Megatron grimaced when he saw three of the pods were missing. “It seems our visitors have already helped themselves.” “There are still enough pods for us,” Blitzwing pointed out, relieved. Megatron nodded. “Good. Each of you, get a pod and evacuate as soon as you’re inside.” The Decepticons entered the pods, closing the hatches as they did so and blasting off. Starscream was about to close his, when he heard Megatron call for him. “Take this,” Megatron said, placing the AllSpark in his baffled second-in-command’s hands. “Me? But surely you-” “I can think of no bot it would be safer with,” Megatron said, a warm smile on his faceplate. Starscream hesitated for a moment, then he nodded, slowly returning the smile. “I will guard it with my spark.” “I know you will.” The hatch closed and the pod took off. After a while, Megatron’s pod followed suit. The space bridge’s drawing power was growing stronger. Already the Nemesis was pulled into it’s vortex, folding in on itself and disappearing in a blink. With a feeling of panic, the Decepticons noticed their pods were being drawn in too. “We’re not going to make it!” Blackarachnia shouted over the comlink. Finally, the space bridge collapsed, unleashing a gigantic burst of warp-energy. It engulfed the asteroid and the pods, as well as a small Autobot ship, pulling all of it inside itself. And spitting it out in a galaxy far, far away. Megatron struggled to stay online, raising his helm and trying to make out the other pods in the darkness. There they wear, floating in his near vicinity, heavily damaged. He raised his servo to activate his comlink. “Can anyone hear me? Are you still online?” A static noise piqued up and Megatron was starting to fear the worst, but then he heard affirmative voices, hard to hear but still there. The relief didn’t last long as he noticed they had not stopped moving. Neither had he. And as his pod turned with the fall, a blue planet came into view, pulling all of them into its gravity. Megatron’s optics widened. “Steer your pods to roughly the same area,” he shouted into the comlink, gripping the steering wheel of his own. “But take care not to hit inhabited lands! Then activate stasis mode, until you’ve landed safely!” He could hear them answering something, voices panicked, but before he could say anything else, a horrifying screech sounded from behind him. Megatron whirled around, already drawing his sword. The ceiling of his pod had been cut open and a green, heavily cracked servo pulled it apart, allowing a small form to drop inside. Optimus Prime glared up at Megatron, his red optics full of hatred. His armorplating was cracked and breaking and a gaping hole where Starscream’s attack had hit him revealed his still beating spark. “Megatrooon!” he roared in a glitching voice, raising his axe and charging at the Decepticon. Without thinking, Megatron slammed his hand on the button to open the hatch. Optimus screamed in rage as he and Megatron both were pulled toward the open vastness of space. His body caught fire as he hurled towards the earth. Megatron watched him fall until he was out of sight. ______________________________________________________________ A fireball sailed through the night sky over the lonesome fields of PawPaw and hit the earth with a resounding crack. In a small wooden house nearby, a young, pudgy human man with dark skin and black hair jumped at the noise, looking up from the robotic arm he had been working on. Grabbing a flashlight, he ran out into the field, following the trail of scorched earth until he found its source. A giant robotic head was lying in an even bigger crater, sparking and dripping oil. The man gasped, stumbling backwards. After recovering from the first shock, he stepped closer to get a a better look. Ever so slowly, a malicious grin spread out across his face as he extended a hand towards it. So caught up was he in his discovery, he failed to notice the five flaming ships entering the atmosphere behind him. ______________________________________________________________ Grunting, Megatron rammed his sword into the pod’s floor, pulling himself back up to the control panel and closing the hatch again. With slightly shaky servos, he gripped the steering wheel. The pods entered the atmosphere, trailing fire in their wake. They sailed high above a city and towards  a wooded area. Megatron could feel the heat biting through the pods hull. Quickly, he typed in the commands for stasis lock. Coldness surrounded him, shutting down his functions one by one. By the time his pod finally collided with earth’s surface, he was no longer online. ______________________________________________________________
50 Years later
In the earliest 20th century, Detroit had been known as “The Motor City”, the automobile manufacturing capital of the world. In present day it had long eclipsed it’s old fame, though not in a good way. Today, it was known as the capital of Sumdac Industries. Isaac Sumdac, founder and CEO of the company had started out small. No one knew where he had come from (though some speculated from somewhere below) but eh had made a name for himself practically overnight with his radical inventions and advancements in robo-technology. Sponsors and investors had been positively tripping over themselves to fund him and learn the secret of his engineering and programming successes. Issac Sumdac gladly accepted their money and praise - then used the latter to fund his true passion: war-bots. With his intellect, reputation and an army of highly advanced mechanic fighters by his side, he had soon spread his influence over all of Detroit. Local law enforcement, as well as the military were helpless against the onslaught and so Detroit was left to his devices. The surviving civilians huddled together in their houses in fear. Sumdac proceeded to rebuild Detroit in his image: statues, monitors, billboards; there was no escaping Isaac Sumdac. Strict laws and regulations were set in place, curfews were enforced and if anyone tried to resist, the newly-build police drones dealt with them accordingly. And so Sumdac’s city had remained for fifty years. From the Sumdac Tower, a tall, looming building in the cities’ center bursting with tech and serving as his main research facility and home, he continued to watch it grow everyday. Isaac Sumdac himself was having a pretty good morning by his assessment. The taxes were flowing, his factories were working better than ever, the research facilities had reported no incidents so far and the coffee he had ordered before starting his daily inspection of the Sumdac Tower, had been just right. No wonder, it had been made by his robot assistant. It had been a good decision to fire and throw the old one into one of the factories. He had gotten tired of her constant shaking and stammering whenever she gave him the daily reports. That was the problems with humans. Always so emotional, so unreliable. And so fragile. A machine never complained, it never tired and no job was too below it to be done. Which was something that really came in handy when you needed an army to do the...dirty work for you, without some nasty conscience getting in the way. “Assistant, tell me the morning news.” ”Yes, Professor Sumdac,” the assistant-bot replied. “Expansion is going well. The new drones will be released on time. But there has been another uprising in Detroit’s downtown. Several drones damaged, one destroyed. The approach suggests the same culprits as last time. Identities remain unknown.” Sumdac frowned. The rebels, as he called them mockingly, had started out as a minor nuisance at first, but had proven to be quite a thorn in his side later on. He didn’t know what or where, but there base of operations was clearly somehwere in Downtown and someone was supplying them with advanced weaponry that allowed them to go toe to toe with his drones. Something that should have been impossible. Searches and threats against the residents were fruitless. they loved their “heroes” and no amount of property damage they suffered would make them cave and give away their names. One day, Sumdac promised them in his head. One day you won’t be so lucky and then you will submit to me, as all of Detroit has. ”What progress has been made on projects T-1973 and C-1600?,” He ordered, taking a sip from his cup and absentmindedly stroking his bald crown. “C-1600: Nanotechnology Development. Current objective: design and development of  nano-bots to be used in biological warfare.  No incidents reported. Test subject scheduled to be injected with latest model of self-replicating, sub-microscopic, bio-diagnostic nano-bots today,” the robot rattled down, steadily marching behind its creator. “T-1973: ‘Sari’. Minor breach of containment. Registered casualties: 2. Subject has been returned to containment one minute ago.” Sumdac chuckled. “Ah, that’s my little girl. She probably misses her father. Shall we pay her a visit, yes?” Without waiting for an answer, Sumdac turned a corner and ambled down a vast hallway to an elevator that only he and a few chosen scientists, researchers and security personnel had clearance to. As the elevator descended, Sumdac found himself lost in thought. His empty right eye-socket started to itch under its eye-patch, as it always did when he came near her. Some upstart psychologist would surely be able to identify it as some sort or primal fear, but Sumdac knew better. It was not fear that made him fidget as the elevator drew closer and closer to its destination. It was excitement, anticipation for what he would see. He was curious how she had managed to escape this time. Had she used her inherent technopathy to hack the locks? His fire-walls would have to be improved then! Or had she simply used her innocent appearance to sweet-talk some poor fool into letting her out? Oh how it frustrated him he had to place humans as her caretakers, but with her abilities, using a drone or a robot was out of the question. The elevator opened to reveal a colossal laboratory, filled with control panels on both sides of the walls, giant monitors and a myriad of people running around and shouting. And at the center of the room, in a small pool, stood a giant, glass test tube. Cables and panels seemed to protrude from all around it. If one looked really close, there was the faint outline of a hole, roughly half of Sumdac’s size carved into one of its sides. Sumdac noted with no small amount of satisfaction that the repair gel mechanism seemed to fulfill its purpose. A stressed looking man with half-long blonde hair, a long lab-coat and a ridiculously outdated pair of sunglasses came towards Sumdac. “P-Professor Sumdac! We’ve already dealt with her, no need for you to concern yourself.” Sumdac lazily regarded the man with his one eye. He knew he was one of the top scientists working in the lab, but he could not for the life of him recall the man’s name. “I’ll take a look either way, if its all the same to you,” he said, making his way towards the test tube. A small huddled figure was lying in the tube’s middle, curled in on itself like a cat. Sumdac sneered. She was mocking him. She knew he was here, no doubt she’d know since he exited the elevator. He stepped towards one of the panels, shooing the scientist currently seated there aside with a dismissive gesture and pressed a button. A loud buzzing sound signaled the activation of the intercom. “Good morning, Sari,” Sumdac called, smiling. “I heard you caused quite the ruckus down here. Surely you must know that you will be punished harshly for this, yes?” The figure lazily un-curled itself, as if Sumdac had just woken it from a particularly deep slumber, revealing itself to be a small girl with the same dark skin as Sumdac’s once had been before chemicals of all kinds had colored it a sickly gray, and purple hair, tied into two pigtails. The ‘girl’ yawned heartily, stretching her arms. “I was bored old man. In fact, I’m bored most of the time I’m down here. When are you gonna let me out to do some real damage?” She smiled, a chilling expression that always made Sumdac shiver, no matter how many times he saw it. Pushing down the feeling of dread forming in his stomach, Sumdac attempted an amused chuckle. “And what makes you think I would ever let you out, Sari? I heard you have been very bad today. Two very nice men-” “Oh, shut it,” she cut him off. “You don’t care a thing for those ‘very nice men’ and you know it. In fact,” her grin widened as she leaned forward, catching his eyes with hers. “I bet you spend the whole ride down here fantasizing how they kicked the bucket. I know you’re into that stuff, you sicko!” She threw her head back and laughed, as if she had just told some sort of amazing joke. Sumdac clenched his fists. What was it that always enabled her to see right through him? Still giggling a little, Sari sat back upright again. “Oh and another thing, old man. Don’t act like I’m your kid. I’m not. I’d rather die then be your kid.  And once I’m outta here?” She lunged forwards, hands banging against the glass, making Sumdac shriek, jerk backwards and fall off his chair onto his backside, coffee spilling all over his gloves and coat. Sari looked down at him, baring her teeth in a manical grin, eyes glowing red. “I’ll finish what I started with your eye-hye.” The last word was spoken in a mocking sing-song voice, entirely too adorable to belong to this monster. Sumdac huffed and got up, pushing away the arms of the dozen security guards that had rushed to his side and stomped back towards the elevator. Sari’s demented giggle followed him all the way up to the base research center. Sumdac clenched his teeth, thinking about how that little brat, that demon had humiliated him, in front of his underlings no less! She would pay, oh yes she would. He’d double the volt on the shock tests! He’d request even more relaxants and chemicals to be injected into her bloodstream! He’d- “Professor Sumdac, I am receiving a call from project C-1600,” the assistant-bot piped up. “Not now,” Sumdac snapped, storming down the hallway towards his private laboratory. “It is urgent.” Sumdac stopped and gave an annoyed grunt, then turned around. “Answer call.”
The face that appeared on the assistant-bot’s headscreen was hidden by the hazmat suit the owner was wearing, but the ID on his suit gave him away as the head of project C-1600. Alarms were blaring inthe background, lab equipment strewn about everyhwere in sight, either destroyed or knocked over. Sumdac grimaced, thinking of how much money and time it would cost to replace it all. “Sir,” the man on the monitor shouted over the sirens in the background. “There’s been a major error in the replication process! The subjects cells have grown out of control, leading to an increase in growth! We managed to contain it for now, but-” Sumdac’s curiosity  was raised. “How big is it?” he interrupted the man, eyes shining eagerly. “Huh? U-um, about a hundred times it’s original size at the time, sir.” “Do you have any way to control it?” Sumdac asked, rubbing his hand together. “N-No, and I don’t think we ever will, sir! It’s a fusion of technology and organic matter, any measures we take to control the one side is automatically cancelled out by the other! It absorbs any machinery it can find and has no interest in organics.” Sumdac’s face fell. Techno-organic beings. Always such disappointments. “Label it as a failure and get rid of it. I do not care how.” He turned around to enter his lab, but then stopped. A smile began to form on his face. “On the other hand, this might be a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.” He turned back to the monitor. “Transport it downtown and release it there.” “B-But sir! The area is marked as inhabited.” “I am aware. And you will do as you’re told. You cannot afford to upset me after this latest failure of yours.” The man looked as if he was about to object for a second. Then his shoulders slumped. “Yes, professor Sumdac.” The screen shut off. Professor Sumdac entered his lab, whistling to himself as he did so. It was a shame he would not be there to witness, he thought, but that was a minor nitpick to an otherwise brilliant and permanent solution to a nasty little problem.

I feel safer in your arms
               Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: You have been MIA for over a week, and Peter and Ned are trying to figure out what they did that could possibly make you ignore them for so long. It took one party at Flash’s place and an inconvenient Brad Davis to make you finally go off.
Author’s note: hey, guys. It took a lot for me to post this, the main plot is based on a personal experience I’ve been through, and I decided to write about it as a way of dealing with the shitty situation. I tried to make the emotions as realistic as possible, in order to express my feelings, but I’m not exactly a great writer and English is not my mother language, so please be patient with me if I’ve made some mistakes throughout the story. Make sure to tell me what you thought about the story, it would make me really happy. Also, if any of you have been through a similar experience and want to talk, hit me up, I’m sure we can help each other, I certainly do need some help lmao
Dedicated to: my favorite blogs! @infamous-webhead @justauthoring @userspidey @imnotobsessedwithhim @tomhreads @peterjonesparker @soulspideys@spideyxchelle (I know some of you might be weirded out because I have never interacted with you but i am in love with your blogs, i’m  just rly shy, anyways hope you enjoy xo) and @lousimusician (U R THE BEST OMG as I said in your ask previously I am in love with your blog and your work fuckkkkkk, you are awesome and rly sweet ❤️)

Tumblr media
               - Dude, what’s going on? Did you two have a fight or something? Because if you did, I swear to God I’ll…
               - Ned! Stop freaking out on me, man. You are making me worse than I already am. And no, we didn’t have a fight or anything like that. I honestly don’t know what’s going on. – Peter was clearly hurt and worried.
               - Sorry, it’s just that… it’s been a week. I miss her. I wonder what you did wrong this time. – Ned looked really judgmental and Peter wasn’t having it.
               - What is that supposed to mean?
               - Come on, dude. You may be her best friend but she clearly has a thing for you and every time she gets somewhat flirty, your oblivious self, despite being completely obsessed with her as well, always screw things up and she gets mad, so… what did you do this time?
               - She doesn’t… have a thing for me. – Peter’s cheeks started getting red with the suggestion.
               - Whatever helps you sleep at night. And that’s not the point! What. Did. You. Do?
               - Nothing, I swear! One night we were fine texting each other and then… She just isolated everyone. She’s been ignoring me since then but I promise I didn’t do anything wrong, I even checked our conversation. Here! – Peter grabbed his phone so fast it almost fell, unblocked it, and clicked on your contact, he didn’t think it was right to show Ned your conversation but the need to prove his innocence was stronger.
               (y/n): “wassup, arachnid?”
(Peter): “(y/n) could u pls come up with a better nickname? That one’s awful :(“
(y/n): “i’m working on it, but until I find the perfect one u’ll just have to get used to this mediocre-quality one lol”
You guys kept talking about nonsenses until you told him you needed to go.
(y/n): “gotta go, family gathering at gram’s. try not to cry because u miss me so much, I’ll be back I promise :p”
(Peter): “well I’ll try but idk if I will be able to go through the next couple of hours without you annoying the life out of me. It’ll be so hard :(“
(y/n): “damn ur heartless. Anyways bye, arachnid xo”
               (Peter): “S T O P”
(Peter): “are you still at your grandma’s place? It’s like 2 a.m.”
               (Peter): “(y/n)???”
(Peter): “if ur mad about me calling u annoying i’m sorryyy”
               (Peter): “:(“
(Peter): “you weren’t at class today. everything okay? just checking, I’m worried abt u”
(Peter): “u missed a Chem assignment today, I’m paired up with you, it’s nothing out of this world but we need to talk abt it”
(Peter): “hey… listen u’ve been MIA for almost a week, now idk what’s going on but you can talk to me, let me help”
(Peter): “Ned and I went over to your place to talk to you but your mom didn’t let us in. pls tell me what’s going on”
               - Damn, Peter…
               - What? – He was certain he didn’t do anything wrong but after showing Ned the texts he got a little insecure. After all, he never realized when he was messing things up, he just got super nervous and started rambling nonstop until shit hit the fan.
               - You guys are so flirty, it’s so disgusting, just ask her out already, geez.
               - Ned!
               - Okay okay, well, I admit, I didn’t see anything wrong, except for you clearly trying to flirt with her and being a total failure.
               - Shut up.
They were sitting at their usual table in the cafeteria, theorizing about what made you go off on them. Both of them were uneasy, you were their best friend and they liked you too much to just let you push them away like this. Peter was particularly off, at the same time he was dying of worries, he was pissed at you. After all the mad shit you’ve been through together, he’d think you cared about him enough not to just ignore his complete existence out of nowhere. To be honest he was hurt about the fact that you didn’t like him as much as he liked you.
               - Yo, assholes. – Flash just jumped up at your table. – I’m trying to do some community service, so as my first act of kindness I will allow you to go to my party tomorrow. My place at 10. Don’t be weird or I’ll change my mind and kick you out of there.  Make sure (y/n) is there, she’s a sight I’d like to see at my place. See ya, losers.
As fast as Flash got to their table, he went away, not giving the boys an opportunity to answer. Peter closed his fists so hard at the mention of your name that his knuckles turned white. Ned simply rolled his eyes and told Peter to forget about it.
Peter took his cellphone again and opened your chat. It had been one day since he last texted you and tried to go to your place, so he was thinking whether he should tell you about the party or not. A part of him was angry and didn’t want to text you because of the shit you’ve been making him go through, but the other part was hopeful you’d show up at Flash’s and finally give him an opportunity to talk to you. He decided he missed you too much and would take any chance he could to see you. So he sent you the text.
(Peter): “hey, Flash is throwing a party tomorrow night and he invited us. yes. all of us. anyway, it’ll be at 10. hope you show up.”
There. Plain and simple. A loud sigh left Peter’s mouth as he hit his head on the table.
               - It’s okay, dude. She’ll be there. Don’t stress about it.
               (…)
               - Do you see her? – It was the fifth time Ned poked Peter and asked the same question. Peter felt like he was about to lose it.
               - No, dude. I’ve been looking directly at the door and she still hasn’t shown up.
               - She will come, Peter. Don’t worry. Hey, do you think Betty would be impressed with this hat I’m wearing?
               - Uhm, sure! Why don’t you go over to her?
               - Are you sure? You’ll be okay? I know (y/n) is always the one who makes you company… - Ned was about to start rambling but Peter was quick to stop him laughing.
               - Ned, I’m fine. Now go get your girl.
               - Yeah yeah, you should go get yours too, you know. Look who just showed up. – Ned pointed to the door.
And there you were, with all your non-glory, and an alarm rang in Peter’s head almost instantaneously. The first thing he noticed was your clothing. You were wearing a jacket, which was not usual for you, who is always complaining about how hot it is, even if it´s freezing. The next thing he noticed was your body, you were thinner, not enough to make everyone notice, but he for sure did, and he for sure got worried right away. The last thing he noticed was your face. He always admired you for being so outgoing and confident, but now you looked scared and insecure, constantly looking to your sides, like the walls had spikes and the room was slowly getting smaller around you.
After scanning the whole room, your eyes met Peter’s, he was beside Ned, looking straight at you, you forced a side smile and walked up to them.
               - Peter, Ned… Hi. – You looked really shy, something was definitely off.
               - Hey, (y/n)! Oh my God I missed you so much, where have you been? We thought you were mad at us. – Ned was as agitated as he was when he talked about Betty. You couldn’t help but smile at how excited your best friend was to see you.
               - I… I was sick, really sick. You know how it is… - You looked at Peter, but he had his eyes fixed on the floor, looking upset.
               - Of course you were. – He sighed and you felt the sarcasm in his voice.
               - Excuse me?
               - I’m not buying that, (y/n). If you really were sick you would tell us, you know, your best friends.
               - Yo, don’t put me into this mess, I’m going to talk to Betty now. But (y/n), I’ll talk to you later, okay? So happy to see you again! – Ned was quick to flee the situation, leaving you and Peter alone. You grabbed his hand and took him to the pool area, where there were less people.
               - Start talking, Parker.
               - What?
               - You were pretty quick to shoot me a snarky comment inside, so I guess you have a lot to say, right? Start talking.
               - I… I don’t have…
               - Peter, talk!
               - Why… Why would you ignore me for over a week? You were so sick you couldn’t grab your phone? And if you really were sick, why didn’t your mom tell us right away? I was so upset with you I wasn’t even going to tell you about the party, but I missed you and was worried about you and wanted to see you, and you lie to my face?
               - I shouldn’t have ignored you, I know. I’m sorry. I really am. But you want to talk about lying? What about all the times you lied right to my face for almost a year, huh? The Stark Internship, the Washington shit, me being stood up by you countless times, what about that? You didn’t tell me about the spider shit, I figured it out by myself. And it’s okay if you didn’t want to tell me, that’s your business, but don’t point your finger at me talking about fucking honesty. – Peter’s face was sad and angry at the same time as you threw the words at him.
               - You know, I only came to this shitty party to see you. – You stared right into his eyes. – I missed you and wanted to have a good time with you, but I guess that’s not going to happen so leave me alone. – At the moment Peter saw tears wanting to leave your eyes, he knew something was wrong, and that he had messed up. Big time.
               - (y/n), wait! – He tried to hold you but you sprinted back inside the house, leaving him with his thoughts.
You were grabbing a snack at the kitchen, when you felt someone breathing down your neck. You froze instantly, trying to push away the memories. You turned and in front of you was Brad Davis. He was a good guy, but he was drunk and an alarm rang in your head.
               - What the fuck? Back off, Brad.
               - Hey, (y/n)! Long time no see, wanna dance? – He placed his hands on your shoulder, and the memories came flooding you as you tried pushing them away.
              - No.
               - Come here, I missed you. – He then pulled you in for a hug. At the moment you felt his hands on your back and waist, and smelled the alcohol exhaling from his mouth, you just couldn’t fight the memories any longer. It was like you were back your grandma’s house all over again, you started to shiver, your heart felt like it was going to go out of your chest and your vision turned black.
               - Get off of me! – You couldn’t stop yourself. You shoved him away aggressively, and punched him right in his face. It was like you were stuck in your own body, not being able to control it.
You realized what you did when he hit the floor, nose bleeding.
               - I’m… I’m so sorry… I… - The music had stopped, you looked up and everyone was looking at you. Then you saw him. Peter. You immediately ran away and grabbed a cab down the street, ignoring Peter’s screams calling you and asking you to wait.
By the time you got home, you were crying uncontrollably. You laid in bed and let everything sink in. You knew going to the party was a mistake but you did it anyway. Fucking stupid little girl.
               - (y/n), let me in. – You looked at your window and saw Peter with his suit on, how could he have changed clothes so fast?
You went over and opened the window. He got in, you turned around as he changed clothes once more. You turned around again when he was done and sat on the bed. He sat beside you.
               - So, I’m an idiot. I know. – He looked at you with puppy hazel eyes and you couldn’t help but laugh a bit. – (y/n)… what happened? Please, I beg you to talk to me.
So, you started talking immediately. The more you talked, the more you cried. You talked about how when at your grandma’s, while the whole family was going to take a picture, your old drunk cousin grabbed you by the arm to be closer to him, and started walking down your body with his hand, making you freeze with terror. You talked about how you felt like you couldn’t move or scream, about how hard he was squeezing your arm, leaving a bruise after. You talked about how you felt used, dirty, and weak, about how you should have done something, anything, but instead you stayed there like a scared little girl. You talked about how you were afraid of people touching you now, and how afraid you were of hurting people, and how that’s exactly what happened. You hurt someone, Brad. And finally, you talked about how you were feeling like your worst version of yourself, and didn’t want anyone to see that, especially Peter.
He listened to everything quietly, and only after you finished talking was when he realized he wasn’t breathing and that you had grabbed his hand at some point. He didn’t know what to say, all he felt was hatred, so he started crying.
               - I’m so sorry, I made this whole thing about me when you were hurting so much. – You squeezed his hand when you heard he say that.
               - Listen, it’s not your fault. I shouldn’t have ignored you, I just didn’t want you to see the mess I am right now.
               - You are not a mess. It’s not your fault this happened to you. You are the strongest person that I’ve ever known, you are the utter best version of yourself and that’s one of the many reasons why I really like you and… - He suddenly stopped when he realized what he said.
               Shit.
               - You know… as a friend… my best friend! You are my best friend and I like you as my best friend and… - He stopped on his tracks when he felt you hugging him, he didn’t know what to do so he slowly and gently put his arms around you, making sure you were comfortable.
               (…)
After that night, things didn’t get better, but they got less worse. Peter and Ned were the only people you were comfortable with, and Peter was the only one you were physically comfortable with. You didn’t think it was possible to be closer than you were before, but it happened. Peter was super protective of you, and he didn’t even noticed. He would always hold your hand when you were walking, and would always make sure you felt safe. Every time he noticed you being anxious, he would grab your hand and caress it with his thumb, or he would play with your hair and whisper “it’s okay, I’m here with you. You are okay” into your ear. He made you feel safe, and he also made you feel weird things, mushy and warm things. He looked at you differently, you knew it, and it always made you feel like your stomach was upside down, but in a great way.
One day, you, Peter and Ned were at the cafeteria talking, you and Peter were holding hands when you felt hands on your shoulders. You stopped moving right away
               - (y/n), nice work on that assignment! – Your Chemistry teacher said and left without letting you respond.
Peter and Ned looked at you, clear worriedness stamped on their faces. You started to breathe heavily, your heartbeat started racing, you started shaking and your eyes got wet. Peter quickly grabbed your hand and took you away.
He took you to the janitor’s closet, the closest thing to the cafeteria. It was so small you were pressed against each other, but Peter didn’t care about that. All he cared about was you. When he closed the door, you started sobbing.
               - Hey, hey it’s okay, I’m here. You are okay. No one’s going to hurt you, okay? I promise. – He hold you tight in his arms.
               - I… I feel dirty.
               - Here – he stood in front of you, took off his sweater, staying only with his nerdy shirt, and swept it over your shoulders. – I’m cleaning them, see? They’re clean. You’re not dirty, you are perfect.
He wiped your tears away and started caressing your cheek, cupping your face with his hands.
               - I’m here and I’ll always be here. You are okay.
               - I’m… I’m okay.
               - See? Everything’s going to be okay. – He hugged you once more.
               - Peter? – You called against his chest.
               - Huh? – He didn’t let you go.
               - Thank you. I… I really like you too. You know, as my best friend… - You felt his heart racing. – You know what I mean.
He let you out of his arms to look at you. He knew what you meant, he remembered the day he almost confessed his feelings, but he thought you wouldn’t have realized.
He kept his hazel eyes glued at yours, and you could swear he was seeing through your soul at that moment. He smiled, his face lit up. You smiled. You don’t know how long you guys stayed there, but it felt like eternity and it wasn’t enough.

Thought of the Evening: peter has a bad dream after a fight and everyone is horrified.
“Not going to lie, I’m shocked anyone can fall asleep with Clint’s talking.” Tony nodded in the direction of Peter who was still strapped into the Quinjet was leaning heavily to the side and clearly fast asleep.
Steve hummed but in comparison to the planes he remembered from the War, the smooth vibrations of the engine were particularly nice after such a long fight. He had his reservations about bringing a kid out there but Peter was useful, albeit confusing and hyper. In the field however he fought like the rest of them.
Now however the Captain had to remember this was just a kid. It weighed on him a bit, thinking about all the ways things could have gone sideways. Sure he could lift ten tons but he also had homework and a life beyond the Avengers. It was too early for fulltime service. “Damn Stevie, were we ever that young?” Bucky sheathed the knife was cleaning blood from with a casualness that added another weight to Steve’s stomach.
“About a hundred years ago.” He replied in all seriousness.
Suddenly Peter shot straight upward with a ragged inhale and Steve was out of his seat in a second. Missed injury, he thought immediately. It could be a collapsed lung? “Peter what hurts?” He asked as the kid blinked wearily at him.
“Oh, hey Captain Rogers Sir.” He made an effort to sit up straighter. “I’m fine! Just a bad dream.”
Shellshock at his age? Steve was never going to forgive himself for allowing Tony to convince him Peter was ready. “About the mission?” He thought of all the comforting things he could. Sam could talk to him. That would help. “You did what you had to do — ”
“Not about the mission.” He gave the team looking at him an owlish look. “Guys. It was crazy. You wanna hear it?”
Steve exhaled carefully. Maybe he hadn’t allowed him to be scared for life. He went back to his seat and Tony humored him. “Why not kid? We’ve got an hour until we’re back at the Tower.”
“Okay,” Peter grinned. “So like, I was at the Tower, just chilling you know and I walk past Captan Rogers who’s holding his shield. And y’know how the edges are really sharp? Well, I cut my arm on it.”
Steve looked down at his shield lying innocently beside him. The edges weren’t so sharp they should cause nightmares but maybe it was more intimidating than he realized.
“But!” Steve almost jumped at Peter’s suddenly increase in pitch. “When I cut myself, blood didn’t come out. My platelets had all grown legs so all my viens were just filled with tiny spiders and they all just came pouring out and I kinda deflated.”
Steve’s jaw was slacked and Tony’s brow furrowed. Steve was just imagined a swarm of spiders and he never was frightened of arachnids but now, maybe, he had gained a new fear. “What you’re just full of spiders?” Clint sputtered.
“Yeah! Crazy right!” Peter’s grin faltered a bit. “But that’s not possible right Mr. Stark?”
“Er, I fucking hope not.”
Peter’s eyes went impossibly wider. “Wait is there a chance I’m just a skin bag full of spiders?”
“Y’know I’m not loving this conversation topic.” Bucky snapped. “Not while we’re thousands of feet above the ground and going hundreds of miles. I don’t need to be covered in tiny Peter spiders thank you. I’ve been through enough.”
A silence fell, uneasy and everyone felt the ghost brushes of tiny spiders beneath their clothes. Bucky squirmed a bit. “Oh for fucks sake now I can’t stop thinking about it,” he shuddered and looked toward the cockpit. “I’m going to ask Bruce.”
“Don’t ask Bruce, this is a ridiculous thing to even consider.” Natasha said. “Peter how would that even make sense.”
“Well, I am Spider Man. Maybe the radioactive spider laid eggs in my veins.” Peter seemed to ponder it. “My spider sense is actually just all the spiders inside of me screaming at once.”
Tony shifted down another seat and Steve didn’t blame him. “If you don’t talk to Bruce I am,” Clint said suddenly. “He’s got like a billion PhDs. He’ll know if Peter is actually just full of tiny spiders.”
“You know this fear is completely irrational right?” Natasha threw her hands up. “Do you think I’m full of spiders because they call me Black Widow?”
“No! You weren’t bit by an actual spider.” Clint pointed at her accusingly. “I am a grown man, if I want to fear teenagers full of spiders that’s well within my American rights. Isn’t that correct Steve?”
Steve wondered if they tiny spiders were poisonous but felt foolish asking. “Yeah — in your dream did they...do anything?”
“Just kinda scurried all over.” Peter shrugged helplessly. “Free from my skin prison.”
“Clint! Ask! Banner! If! It’s! Possible!” Bucky practically roared.
Clint hastened to do just that. “Peter you’ve gotten cuts before right? Did you bleed spiders then?” Bless Natasha for trying to end this ridiculous charade.
“No. But maybe they weren’t ready yet.”
“Shut up Peter.” Bucky snapped and Steve glared at him. “I don’t like spiders Steve in case you’ve forgotten.”
“Oh.” How had Steve forgotten about his hatred of all things with too many legs. “God, I forgot about all that.”
“I’m supposed to the forgetful one Rogers.” Bucky winked a bit as Clint came clamoring back in.
“So! According to Banner there is no known ways you could be full of tiny spiders. He also added there is also no known ways that you couldn’t be full of tiny spiders because you’re virtually unstudied and he doesn’t know how your biology works. He says it’s a fascinating subject and if you’re worried about it, try and keep your skin unpuntured until you get to the lab.”
Clint took the furthest seat from Peter who stared down at his hands in a sort of childish fascination. “What the fuck.” Bucky breathed.
“Think I could name them all Peter Parker and just one of them Parker Peter so like they get together and are like ‘my name is Peter Parker’ and ‘oh my name is Peter Parker’ and ‘everyone is Peter Parker! Except that guy he’s Parker Peter. No one knows where he came from’.” Peter looked up expectantly as if anyone could respond his nonsense.
“That would be a positive spin to you being full of spiders.” Clint nodded his head in agreement.
“How would we tell them apart? Besides Parker Peter.” Tony cut in. “It makes more sense to number them.”
“We could just kill them all. With fire.” Bucky said with a shrug.
“But they’re my babies,” gasped Peter.
“You wouldn’t want the tiny spiders inside of you to be killed?” Steve didn’t understand. “You’re just empty skin without them right? Do you have organs or are those spiders?”
“Maybe I’m just all spiders,” Peter poked his leg in a testing away and Steve flinched. “My brain is probably not spiders.”
Natasha put her her head in her hands. “I’m surrounded by idiots.”

Eight - A Mystrade One Shot
Eight | PG | Mycroft stops by for a visit at the Yard when something both ferrying and unexpected happens.
Hello, it’s me again, back with another Sherlock (BBC) based fic. It’s short, shorter than the first one, but really adorable. I honestly don’t know where I got the idea, other than one day I was thinking of Mystrade prompts, and I was like, ‘hmm, what is one thing Mycroft would be afraid of?’ So I gave him arachnophobia. (Though I am in no way, scared of spiders, so it’s more comical and satirical in a sense). Hope you enjoy! Also, if anyone ever wanted to request something, go ahead and leave a comment. I’ll write about a ship or fandom, as long as I’m in that fandom. I want to give you the “best” content—though it’s mostly just trash, because I have no talent. Again, this goes out to my friend, @imaroyaltea because I love them so much.
There weren’t a lot of things that impressed Mycroft Holmes. He was the British government after all. Daily he would coincide with only top notch blue bloods and the most official officials—from other countries ambassadors, to his own London streets. Yet, there was quite a few things that did. For example, cake, order, control...and the number eight. It was his favourite, out of ten. However, this left room for less desirable things. Mycroft loves the number eight for its evenness, a number perfectly symmetrical both ways—one that could split in to four, and then two. But spiders had eight legs. And he loathed spiders. Amongst several life risking situations, and always being in danger of being assassinated, spiders were the only thing that scared a man of his composure. So when Mycroft walked into Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade’s office, and saw one in the corner, he froze in the doorway, refusing to enter any further.
“Mr. Holmes? Can I help you?” Greg asked, looking up from the paperwork on his desk.
“Hm? Oh...well, I came here to check on my brother that’s all. He found a way to override the CCTV cameras watching Baker Street, and successfully evades all of the others.”
“Right, well are you going to come in?” He asked, watching the man before him grimace.
“Uh...no. I don’t think so.” Mycroft’s grey eyes flickered to the corner, watching the vile eight legged creature spin its web.
“Well, you can’t just stand in the doorway.”
“I’d like to think I can.”
Greg rolled his eyes and stood up, walking over to the elder homes. Mycroft gripped his umbrella, watching with distracted interest, before the detective grabbed his hand and pulled him in. He shut the door behind them and gestured to one of the chairs.
“If you will, please. Sit.”
Feeling that wasn’t a request but an order, Mycroft sat down, putting as much distance between him and the demon arachnid as possible. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, unaware that Greg was watching him carefully.
“Are you-“
“Im fine. Now, if you will quickly inform me of my brother’s condition, I shall be out of your hair just as quickly Detective Inspector.”
“Greg is fine, Mycroft. And you’re not in my hair, I’m just filling out paperwork. I actually like the company.”
“Oh that won’t be necessary De-Gregory. I have a very busy schedule I’ll have you know.” Not buying it, Greg raised a brow.
“Yeah? Alright then-“ Mycroft cut him off with a gasp, that startled both him and the detective, more so surprised that a sound such as that came from Holmes.
“What-“
“Oh my...” Mycroft grew uneasy, and immensely restless, his hands tight on the arms of the chair in which he sat.
“Mycroft, you okay, mate?”
“I have to go.” The man replied suddenly, standing up with vigor.
Greg’s eyes widened, and watched the British Government before him completely lose his bearings. Mycroft stumbled as the fallen assailant crawled toward him—with murderous intent.
“Gregory! Please get that fiend away, would you?!”
“What? What are you...” Mycroft pointed to impending beast, and Greg’s jaw dropped.
He glanced back at the Holmes brother, and smiled at the pure terror in those stormy grey eyes. Three piece suit, the very definition of posh, tall, and overcome with authority, taken down by a spider. One that must fallen from its web and began to crawl towards the exit, which was in Mycroft’s direction.
“Gregory, I am serious. Please-“ once again the man screamed, and quickly made his way behind the desk. He grabbed onto Greg’s shoulders making him gasp, and used him as a shield.
“Nothing should have that many legs, be able to bite, and have so much control over its victims.” Holmes muttered, causing the detective to blush.
“You do realize that it’s just a spider? You could just step on it.”
“It’s not just a spider Gregory. It’s a monster! Besides, one shan’t be crushed so easily.”
“Sounds like you’re speaking about yourself.” The older rolled his eyes, looking to the man behind him.
Their eyes met and locked for a brief moment, before Mycroft’s narrowed. “I take offense to that Gregory. To be compared to such a-“
“I get it, alright? I’ll take care of it, I promise.” He visibly relaxed and let go of Greg before nodding.
“Very well. Thank you. But please do be efficient.”
The Detective Inspector chuckled at his guest and left the “safe” confines of his desk, taking a tissue from the box on the corner. He leaned down and swept up the assailant, not missing Mycroft’s tiny gasp in surprise. Smirking, he left for a moment, and walked into the bathroom to flush it down the toilet. When he returned to his office, Mycroft was still cowering behind the desk in fear.
“Is it gone?”
“Yes.”
“Positive?”
Greg nodded. “Down the toilet.” The breath of relief was unmissable and Mycroft walked towards him with a grateful smile.
“Thank you, Gregory. I...must apologize for my outburst. It’s a ridiculous phobia I must say, but a phobia no less.”
“S’alright, Myc. No need to be afraid whilst I’m around.” He winked, still amused.
Mycroft huffed, glaring slightly at the other. “Yes, well, I won’t be nice next time if you’re going to be like that.”
“Oh c’mon. I’m only teasing you. Whenever you see a spider just call and I’ll be there. Or against any other many legged creature. Even though that’s not really my division.” He chuckled again, watching as the British government blushed.
“Very good. I expect it now.”
“Good—Oh, wait! Sherlock right? Sorry I never did tell you...” he trailed off, suddenly remembering Mycroft’s reason for visiting.
“No need. I...find that I don’t care very much about it anymore. Thank you Gregory, again. It was a pleasure.”
“Till next time?” The other nodded.
“Indeed.”

During lunch break session of the Pokélympics, an Arachnid soldier is cornered by Reginald, Blight, Estela and Jake.
Blight: Let me handle this.
Arachnid Soldier: Those who get in the way of the Arachnid shall be punished.
Blight: Bring it!
The soldier grabs his pokéball and calls out his Pokémon. Blight grins and does the same.
Arachnid Soldier: Crabominable, time for your mission!
Blight: Let’s do this, Steelix!
Tumblr media
Recommended Music: Rival (Sun & Moon)
Two tough Pokémon are called out in the battlefield. Jake asks for reassurance.
Jake: Blight, are you sure about this? The Arachnid are relentless.
Blight: I’ve handled worse in Aryndelle.
The Arachnid soldier scoffs.
Arachnid Soldier: Do not underestimate me, simpleton! Crabominable, use Focus Punch!
Blight: Steelix, use Iron Tail to block it!
Energy is gathered in Crabominable’s clam-fist. Once charged, the Woolly Crab Pokémon tries to punch Steelix with all of its might. But before it could, Steelix hardens his tail and swings it towards the incoming attack, eventually blocking it. Although Steelix is hit, the damage is only minimal.
Blight: Alright, time to use it. Combination #5, Flame Tail!
Everyone around Blight is confused at what he just said.
Reginald: Combination #5?...
Arachnid Soldier: What is this nonsense that you are spilling?!
Fire starts to surround Steelix’s fangs while his tail starts to harden. He then bites his tail, engulfing it with flames.
(Like in this manner)
Tumblr media
Everyone stares, dumbfounded.
Jake: Woah. I’ve never seen that before.
Estela: How is it not in pain after being hit by a super-effective attack?
Arachnid Soldier: What is this?!
Reginald: I’ve seen combination attacks but this is just... Wow...
Blight grins and delivers his command.
Blight: ATTACK!
Steelix charges forwards and slams his inflamed tail down at Crabominable. Still confused by Blight’s battle tactics, the Arachnid soldier is caught off-guard and was unable to command Crabominable fast enough to avoid the attack.
Arachnid Soldier: Wait! No!
It was too late. Crabominable was struck by a combination of Steel and Fire attacks. It instantly faints from the strong attack. The fainted Pokémon is then returned into its pokéball on the soldier’s hand. The Arachnid soldier kneels down in defeat and raises his arms.
Arachnid Soldier: I... surrender...
Blight: Hmph. That’s right.
Blight grins as Estela restrains the soldier while Jake calls for the Vaanti Police Force. After the Arachnid soldier was taken into custody, Blight approaches Reginald.
Blight: Good work chasing down that Arachnid soldier.
Reginald looks away.
Reginald: I didn’t do much.
Blight: No, but you did enough. We couldn’t have caught him without you.
Reginald: Yeah...
Reginald walks away. Blight looks at him with concern. A few minutes later, Reginald is seated on a bench. He is approached by Taari, who is holding two bags of chips
Taari: Hey, Reginald.
Reginald: Oh. Hello, Taari.
Taari sits down beside Reginald and hands him one bag of chips.
Reginald: Look, about my behavior earlier...
Taari: You don’t need to apologize. I just want to ask; are you going through something?
Reginald: It’s just...
Reginald sighs and looks away from Taari.
Reginald: You already know who my father is.
Taari: Yeah. Uncle Aleister...
At the mention of his father’s name, Reginald snaps.
Reginald: Don’t say his name!
Taari flinches.
Taari: I... I’m sorry...
Reginald: He’s nothing but a liar to me and a traitor to his friends. He’s merely just a a lighter version of my grandfather, what you call, “the Hydra”. As much as I want to forget it, people around me just keeps talking about everything that they’ve done. I can never get these out of my mind. That is why I have decided that in my path to victory, I will cut ties with my father.
Reginald pockets his hand and pulls out a ring containing a Mega Stone, one that belonged to his Metagross.
Reginald: You may not know this, but... I can actually use Mega Evolution on my Metagross. But I chose not to use it. No... I have decided to reject my father completely by winning the La Huerta League without using Mega Evolution.
He closes his fist and clenches it. Taari looks at him with so much worry. Seconds later, Reginald stands up and walks away.
Reginald: I’m sorry that you had to hear that Taari. I should not have talked to you about this.
He stops short in his tracks and looks back at Taari.
Reginald: Mark my words, Taari. I will win the Pokélympics and the La Huerta League.
Reginald turns away and continues walking. Seconds pass and Taari starts to chase after him.
Taari: Wait!...
Reginald stops but doesn’t look back.
Taari: All my life, I have always been helped by others. That was the case earlier too. I am here because of the people who have either saved, helped or supported me.
Taari slightly raises his hand and stares at it. He starts to remember his past; Seraxa taking care of him after losing his parents to Cetus, Tyler and Taylor working together to save him from Cetus, all of the support he has gained from others during his adventures from Elyy’stel to Orderve city. Taari looks back at Reginald.
Taari: Tyler and Taylor... I want to be like them. In order to do that, I have to be strong enough to become a champion.
Reginald eventually turns to look at Taari.
Taari: My motivation might seem trivial compared to yours... but I can’t lose, either. I have to live up to the hopes of those who supported me. Elena isn’t the only one declaring a war against you.
Taari balls his fist.
Taari: I will beat you.
Reginald considers Taari’s words and gives him a nod before walking away. Meanwhile, hiding behind a tree, Elena eavesdrop on their conversation.
Lunch break has ended and everyone is gathered back in the stadium. In the announcer booth, Aryn and Blight are seated, currently absent of any quarrels.
Aryn: Now that lunch is over, it is finally time for us to move on to our last round of the Pokélympics!
Blight: The last round is composed of a regular Pokémon battle but with a special twist. Health points of Pokémon are disregarded. You cannot force an opponent’s Pokémon to faint in order to win.
Aryn: And to prevent that, we have our expert Pokémon doctor, Michelle Nguyen and her Aromatisse to make sure that the Pokémon of two competitors fighting do not faint.
Blight: There are ways to win a battle in this round; one is that you must push the opponent’s Pokémon out of bounds; or you must completely immobilize the opponent’s Pokémon; or you could tire out the opponent’s Pokémon to the point where they run out of stamina.
Aryn: And lastly, you can only use ONE Pokémon throughout the whole tournament.
Blight: Now, we move on to our umpires, Estela and Jake.
Everyone’s attention is then directed to Estela and Jake, one of them is holding a small box of folded papers.
Jake: What I have here in my arms is a box of names of the eight competitors who made it to the final round.
Estela: We are going to draw the pairs of competitors who will go head-to-head in the first four matches of the Tournament Round.
After a few minutes, the bracket based on the results of the drawing is shown on the stadium television.
Jake: Here are the results, with our first match being... Taari versus Zh’en! Two Vaantis, head-to-head!
Taari looks at the bracket and thinks to himself.
Taari: So, I’m one of the first to fight. After my battle, it’s Reginald’s turn. Which means that if both of us win our matches, then we get to fight each other in the next bracket. But first, I have to worry about...
Before he could finish, he is cut off by a voice.
Voice: It’s been a long time, Taari.
Taari is caught by surprise and turns to see his former childhood friend, Zh’en.
Tumblr media
Taari: Zh’en... yeah. It’s been too long.
Zh’en: How have you been? I’m sure you’ve gone through a lot, especially with those so-called “Catalysts” and their children.
Taari grits his teeth.
Taari: Don’t you dare address them like that.
Zh’en scoffs and walks away.
Zh’en: If you want to express how you feel about what I said, then settle it with our match.
Meanwhile, the rest of the final round competitors consider their opponents.
Reginald: I didn’t expect to be able to face Taari after my first match.
A voice calls for Reginald and he turns to see his opponent, Perry.
Tumblr media
Perry: Hey. You must be Reginald. I’m Perry, your opponent.
Reginald: Yeah... Huh? Aren’t you the contestant who won third place in the Metropeal City Contest?
Perry: Yeah. That’s me. I guess we’re going against each other. Let’s do our best out there.
Reginald: Agreed...
Perry grins and waves at Reginald before leaving him. Reginald looks back at the stadium television, ignoring what he and Perry have just discussed.
On the other hand, Kaitlyn feels uneasy because her opponent just so happens to be Mika. Kaitlyn looks at Mika, who looks back with determination in her eyes.
And lastly, Elena is too fixed on the bracket, ignoring the calls of her opponent.
Back in the announcer booth, Aryn and Blight move on to the consolation event for those who did not make it to the final round.
Aryn: Before we could proceed with the final round, we will be going for an interlude first. For those of you who did not make it into the final round, you can still compete in the recreational games.
Blight: That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. Before we could move on to our final round, we have to first witness the other skills of those who were not able to make it.
Aryn: Competitors who did make it into the finals can still participate in the recreational games.
While the eliminated competitors have fun in the recreational games, the finalists couldn’t relax. Some polish their skills and strategy against their opponents. Some try to keep their presence of mind. And some try to relax their nerves.
And before they knew it, the final round is about to begin. The finalists have gathered at the center of the stadium with Estela and Jake.
Estela: We will now move on to the final round of the Pokélympics.
Jake: You guys better clear the scene.
The finalists look at the umpires with confused faces. Estela looks at the announcer booth.
Estela: Blight, do it!
Back in the announcer booth, Blight pulls out a remote with one button.
Blight: And now, it’s time to raise the stage!
Blight pushes the button and a small tremor is felt. The finalists flinch and start to clear the center of the stadium as it opens. A flat battlefield rises from the ground. Afterwards, Michelle and her Aromatisse arrive at the center of the stadium approaching Estela and Jake.
Michelle: Aromatisse, use Heal Pulse.
Aromatisse raises her arms as continuous pulses of healing energy come out of her. Estela calls on the first pair of finalists.
Estela: First two finalists, please take your positions on the battlefield.
Back in the announcer booth...
Blight: And here they come, ladies and gentlemen! For match number one...
Aryn: Residing from the city of Elyy’stel, a Vaanti boy who has shared adventures with the Catalysts and has fought his way up to the top of the Pokélympics, Taari!
At the mention of his name, Taari walks up to the battle field.
Blight: Next, also residing from the city of Elyy’stel, a Vaanti girl who has secretly reached the top with the other finalists and is a complete mystery, Zh’en!
Also at the mention of her name, Zh’en steps onto the battlefield.
In the announcer booth, Blight sighs and speaks to Aryn.
Blight: Alright, Aryn, go all-out.
Aryn: Wait... Really?!
Blight nods and Aryn’s eyes light up as she smiles.
Aryn: BRING OUT THE BLOODSHED! THROW OUT ALL OF YOUR MORALS AND ETHICS AS YOU BEAT THE LIVING SH!T OUT OF YOUR OPPONENTS!!
Blight: Of course, life-threatening actions would lead to disqualification.
Aryn looks back at Blight in disgust.
Aryn: Boo!
At the battlefield, Taari and Zh’en call out their Pokémon.
Taari: I’m counting on you, T’kal!
Zh’en: Go, Hypno.
T’kal the Incineroar comes out from Taari’s side, while a Hypno comes out from Zh’en’s. Estela raises her hand.
Tumblr media
Estela: Let the match...
Before Estela could initiate the match, Zh’en attempts to provoke Taari.
Zh’en: You know, maybe Uqzhaal was right...
Taari is caught by surprise at the mention of the late-shaman’s name.
Zh’en: ...Maybe the Catalysts can never be trusted.
Taari grits his teeth and clenches his fists.
Estela: ...BEGIN!!
Not even a second has passed and Taari has already started giving his order.
Taari: T’kal, use Flare Blitz!!
T’kal shares Taari’s rage and engulfs himself with flames. He charges towards Zh’en’s Hypno. But not before Zh’en could stop him...
Zh’en: Use Hypnosis.
Zh’en’s Hypno swings his pendulum as hypnotic waves are fired towards T’kal. Once struck by the status attack, T’kal stops and remains in place. Taari is shocked at what is happening.
Recommended Music: The Hunted (ES)
Taari: T’kal?! What’s wrong?! WHY DID YOU STOP?!
Back in the announcer booth...
Blight: Ladies and gentlemen, even though T’kal has the type advantage, a simple Hypnosis was able to turn the tides.
Aryn: Boo! Cut that hypnosis crap, Zh’en! BEAT HIS ASS!! Taari, get your f!cking Pokémon together and SEND THAT MOTHER F!CKER TO HELL!
Blight does a facepalm at Aryn’s behavior
Back on the battlefield, Zh’en delivers his next command.
Zh’en: Tell it to turn around and walk out of bounds.
Hypno points to Taari’s side and T’kal nods. The tiger-like Pokémon turns around and starts to walk towards the off-bounds on Taari’s side.
Taari: T’kal, no. WAIT!
Zh’en closes her eyes in confidence.
Zh’en: I win, Taari.
Will Taari be beaten this easily on the first match? WHAT?! PFFT! Of course not! He’s the protagonist. He has plot-armor. Just wait for the next chapter of Pokémon Summer Version to find out how he wins. PEACE!

A - Age: 25 going on 26
B - Biggest fear: Loss/Losing a loved one, The possibility of Nothingness after Death aka the thought of my consciousness just dissipating into nothingness/losing all sense of self after death really scares the crap outta me on a hyperventilating/panic attack kinda level, Heights/Falling, Drowning, Bugs/Insects/Arachnids, Oh, and let’s not forget about Sleep Paralysis, that can be a real bitch too (haven’t had one of those in a really really really long-ass while, welp here’s hoping I didn’t just fucking jinx myself *sigh*). -___-;
C - Current time: 10:25 PM
D - Drink you last had: Vanilla Chai Tea
E - Every day starts with: Waking up perplexed and trying to contemplate what little I can remember of my fleeting dreams, before they slip outta my grasp completely.
F - Favorite song: Tbh, just like with books, films and anime/tv-series, I’m fond of a lot of different varieties of genres of music, and can never really just stick with one sole fave song (from punk-rock, soft rock, indie rock, jazz, hip-hop, r&b, pop, electronic, etc); So for now let’s just say that I’m really digging J-pop/J-rock, RWBY/RvB ost, YYH ost, a mix of several Anime opening/ending themes, 80′s/90′s rock/pop songs, Green Day, etc. ^^;
G - Ghosts, are they real?: Heh, If someone had asked me this years ago, my stubborn smart-ass teenage self would have scoffed and probably would have disputed against this to no end, convinced of the illogicalness of it all. But surprisingly enough, coming from a semi non-religious/agnostic person like myself…..I gotta say: Yes on this one. And I say this for Three reasons.
The first being, that deep deep down, the mere thought of my consciousness just dissipating into nothingness after death, and losing all sense of self just really really makes me uneasy and overall just really scares the living-shit out of me, on an almost hyperventilating panic-attack kind of level.
For another, when I was but a mere youngling (around 7-12), we lived in a “supposedly haunted house” (let’s just say that I remember there were times when things def. felt really really off, uneasy, and just plain eerie, the chills down my spine didn’t help either). Who knows maybe growing up with YYH subconsciously helped me not be so damn freaked out about it all, and helped me handle the possibility of it with a bit of grace. lol xD
The last reason, a real personal and selfish one at that, is that deep down, a part of me really wouldn’t mind if the idea of an “afterlife” did hold some real truth to it, mostly cause the thought of meeting up with an old friend of mine that has long since passed from this world, is a rather comforting thought.
H - Hometown: Back in the day, as a teenager, my friends and classmates would often exaggeratingly refer to it being just: (plain-ass boring), but in reality it was nothing more than a small, quaint, peaceful little town called: Fairfield.
I - In love with: I’ve always been in love with the art and craft of storytelling; just any and every amazingly well-written / crafted fantastical stories of fiction, in any form of media, whether it be via the written word/books, through anime/web series, TV series, films/movies, videogames, etc. Speaking of which, besides RWBY, I’ve gone and spiraled right back into being in awe of Yu Yu Hakusho, and just how amazing Togashi is at his craft. ^_^
J - Jealous of: Nowadays, nothing really.
Though the few times I’ve actually felt real envy, were a couple of times as a child …..And the main reason for that was due to the fact that I didn’t have the best childhood, let’s just say that emotional abusement, and domestic house fights all thanks to my super religious Catholic, and overall a pitifully poor excuse of an Aunt who was living with us at the time, obviously didn’t leave me entirely unscathed (hence why I have anxiety problems as well as trust issues, why I used to sometimes have a sorta hard time with religion, struggle with the concept of having faith. But yeah, I guess I’ve sorta made my peace with it all……But back to the matter at hand, that’s why, as a kid, I envied those, whom I presumed must of had a nice, stable and so-called “normal” childhood.
….Yup, though that was indeed a particularly dim time in my life, I’m just glad that Yu Yu Hakusho helped get me through most of that shit, which was nice, well that and the possibility that our old-house was “supposedly haunted” (so yeah, I could sorta relate to Yusuke on some of these levels, which at the time helped me to feel less alone and less of a misfit than I thought I previously was, especially in regards to not having the best or normal living situation, nor the best childhood, and that a team/group of friends was also a real possibility of the word “family”, it’s why I don’t take betrayal lightly and why I value the concept of friendship / loyalty / camaraderie so damn highly, it helped to fill a much needed void). ^^;
The other time I felt a twinge of jealousy were a couple of times during my pre-teens/teenage years (mostly for stupid silly little reasons), like feeling a bit insecure about my place in certain friendships, but being reassured later on that I wasn’t being replaced, or overlooked. (like I said it was stupid). ^^;
N - Number of siblings: None, I am an only child.
O - One wish: I wish could have gone about things a little bit differently in the past….. So many things that were left unsaid, things I didn’t realize back then that I had taken for granted or should have appreciated more.
Oh, and let’s not forget the stupid, silly, face-palming moments I had as an adolescent that still haunt me/make me slightly cringe from embarrassment to this day; some I’m willing to accept and can even look fondly back on …..but, there are a few stupid moments (things I’ve said that had slightly hurt others) were I wish I could just go back in time and slap myself upside the head for, or at least take back and erase all together). -__-;
But in all seriousness, there is one thing I really wish for. Remember that old friend of mine that I mentioned a while back in this post…..well, it’s been about 8 years give or take since they passed away from cancer, I was 19 when it happened, and I know I’ve made my peace with that ages ago, but there are still times I really wish I hadn’t taken those moments with my friend for granted; looking back I really wish I had taken the time to really appreciate it all a lot more.
My old friend was the type of person who said they considered themselves as “obnoxious” (which always left me rather perplexed and made me raise an eyebrow skeptically at them in response; I never once considered them as obnoxious, I mean stubborn sure, optimistic and always trying to look for the good in any situation as well as an incredibly kind and gentle soul, for damn sure, quick-witted, wise, with a brilliant mind when it came to arithmetic and science most definitely (something I really respected, admired and even left me a little in awe with how natural and easily these two subjects came for them, considering I can’t even solve a sudoku puzzle to save my life, that’s how bad me and math don’t mix lol), was incredibly open-minded (a trait I always had but later became even more reinforced and ingrained into my psyche in thanks to them) even though they were religiously devoted and faithful to a tee (something I still struggle with from time to time but have long since their passing, semi changed my perspective on), something which used to cause us to butt heads here and there, was a massive Star Wars, Lord of Rings / Tolkien, and Firefly fan, was real fond of the color green and Tigger from Winnie the Pooh (hence their fave TTFN aka Ta Ta For Now farewell they’d give), was the type to give the best out of the blue bear-hugs, was someone whom like myself really loved the rain (used to say that they considered it quite cleansing to the soul) was the person who first introduced me to the wonders of Tea, was a bright light in my life that helped healed the scars and broken remnants that remained from my really messed childhood, was someone I greatly admired as well as respected, and was maybe even a little more of a playful dork than I could ever wish to be (I mean, for fuck’s sake, we used to have actual poke-wars and keep tabs of who was winning). lol xD
But never, never did I once think that they were annoying or obnoxious.
……..I just wish it could have occurred to me at the time to have told them that face to face (back when there was still time), and reassured them otherwise, I mean looking back at it now, in hindsight, it was obviously something they were always a little insecure about and just played it off half-jokingly, something I never even realized till now, and It kinda twinges/tugs at my heartstrings a bit (in regret) that it just never really occurred to my stupid, oblivious, teenage self back then to have told them otherwise.
I just hope that deep down my dear old friend knew how much we cared, how much they really mattered to us in the end, as well as how deeply and sorely they’re still missed (cause not a day goes by where I don’t think of them). But most importantly, I hope they knew that they were someone I was real damn proud to consider and call: Friend. :’)
P - Person you last texted: My Mom
Q - Questions you’re always asked: Besides the typical, “What’s up?” or “How are you?” lol xD…. Lately it’s been things like: What are your thoughts / speculations on what’s to come for the latest season of RWBY and the like, which is nice, considering the hiatus we’re currently on. ^-^
S - Song last sung: More like hummed; I had that damn catchy Level E Opening Theme song stuck in my head a few nights ago, and ended up humming it whilst in the shower. lol x)
T -Time you woke up: 6:00 A.M.
U - Underwear color: Black and White.
V - Vacation destination: Japan would be pretty cool. :D
W - Worst habits: Besides my bouts of indecisiveness, speaking fast when I’m nervous, and insomnia from time to time as well as coffee being my vice? o.o
Hmm - Welp, let’s see….I can be a real worry-wart, and have a bad-habit to unnecessarily over-think and mull over even the littlest things, especially over past or upcoming situations (I can thank my anxiety/social anxiety for that one).
I also have a really hard time when it comes to opening-up/baring my soul aka letting others get too emotionally close to me. Rest assured, I’m not proud of it, but it seems like keeping to myself or keeping others at arm’s length seems to be my go-to comfort-zone / coping mechanism when it comes to avoiding getting hurt, and what’s worse, if it get’s really bad, I tend to do this subconsciously and pull away or distant myself emotionally for a bit, especially on harder days, when I’m more susceptible towards my depression, which really really fucking sucks cause if there’s one thing I really value rather highly, it’s the concept of loyalty / friendship / camaraderie a great deal.
....And it’s not like I want to deliberately push people away, the problem is that over the years it has manifested itself as a goddamn reflex, hence it being one of my more worse bad habits that I sometimes still find myself struggling with at times (and it doesn’t help that as an introvert, I prefer to really enjoy time on my own / quiet moments to myself a lot more).
Tch, I’m starting to sound like a loner / lone wolf here. -____-;
....Either way, I guess I gotta thank my fucking social anxiety/apathy/depression and overall past trust-issues for this one as well. *sigh* Trust me, I know I have issues, and if this affects you in anyway, just know that it ain’t nothing personally against you, I know/am well aware that I’m the damn problem.  -__-;
X - X-rays you’ve had: Dental X-rays when going to the Dentist, but yeah that’s it really (never broken a bone in my life). ^^;
Y - Your favorite food: I’m actually really partial to: Italian and Chinese food, though I’m always down for doing a small cook-out/grill out once and awhile.
Z - Zodiac sign: Western Zodiac (Leo) / Chinese Zodiac (Sheep/Ram).
