If you could indulge me, can I ask for something with The Amazing Digital Circus gang, with an s/o who is seen as an anchor for the others? They are strong willed, happy go lucky, supportive, a mediator and ect. Well, could they stumble upon their s/o just having an episode, just crying in frustration and like punching a wall to calm down and go back to acting like nothing happened?

I have a thing with strong willed characters hiding their weakness for the benefit of others.

oh ho ho you silly lil fella, you have literally just described my TADC oc down to a T, i am going to have so much fun writing this because im literally just. going to use my oc as a place holder for the reader, just without describing any lore bits unique to them and their design ngl i think i went insane with this one, tally hall music is doing something to me

CAINE:

if you thought you were good at hiding your human despair just know that caine already knows. the only reason i feel he wouldnt initially come to you in your lesser moments of weakness is that he can acknowledge that youre trying to hide this part of you. does he go comfort you, and risk making you try harder to surpress your feelings; risking you to just blow up one day and have your mental state just totally collapse in one go? would you feel put off at the knowledge that in this world you never really have full privacy? that definitely wouldnt make you feel any better. but when it gets to the point where you're screaming and crying in your room and punching the walls he would step in. drags you away from the walls, and if he has to this man will restrain you if it means making sure you stop swinging. hes seen the downfall of many people within the circus, but seeing it from someone he so deeply cares for hits a different way. he may be an AI, but he can still simulate feeling. its a harrowing sensation as he lets you cling onto him. i think he makes an effort to make in house adventures less overwhelming and intense, too scared to push you over the edge but also too scared to leave you with nothing to do to distract you. i think he would stay with you for the night, too

POMNI:

as selfish as it sounds, pomni cant help but feel.. something in her chest. seeing you, the groups beacon of light falter fills her with some kind of fear and despair that she cant put into words. it reminds her that no one is above helplessness, and that at the end of the day youre just as capable of abstracting as everyone else. i think, when she finally sees your fake demeanor finally slip when you thought you were totally alone, she feels bad. i mean shes your partner, and she didnt pick up on any hints that may have indicated your true state of health. i dont think she would try to force you to speak, as much as i want to say that she would try to push for you to talk about how you feel i think her attempts to reach out to you would fall on deaf ears. i think she would put her hand on your shoulder, making you jump back to the present moment. its an awkward gesture, with the jester herself being a little lost with these new feelings... i think you two would just sit in silence

JAX:

similar to pomni, he feels this intense and unexplainable pang at the sight of the most hopeful and brightest person in the circus crumble. ive already said it but ill say it again, its like being splashed with cold water, with how hard that sinking cold feeling hits him. makes half hearted attempts to cheer you up. its not that he doesnt care, its that hes stuck in the shock of seeing the happiest person he knows flip into... this.. for a split second he thought you were abstracting, that pit his stomach becoming colder for a second before he realizes whats going on. ive said this before as well, but jax is not the best comforter, in fact i think he might be one of the worst out of the main cast. but i think so far for the characters ive written for this post, he makes an effort to try to pull you up out of your hole. at least he lets you cry your feelings out, and he wont make you feel bad for doing so

RAGATHA:

stands there in shock like pomni, before immediately rushing to your side and tugging you away from a coat stand you were kicking and beating. hands on your shoulders she tries to snap you back to the present moment, trying to tell you that shes here. any feelings of the helplessness that she shares with the previous two characters is shoved down. this isnt about her, its about you. runs her fingers through your hair, if your digital body has any, and just. rocks you. when you finally calm down enough to be able to form clear words, she reassures you once more that shes here for you. the two of you stay in that position, holding onto one another for the entire night. i think it should be said, but for most of these theyre going to try to keep a closer eye on you and make it a point to ask you how youre feeling. ragatha especially.

KINGER:

it reminds him of queenie. the sight brings back so so so many terrible memories. for a second he doesnt even register that hes standing in the present, standing in your doorway. stuck and frozen for a solid minute before you finally notice him, and you hold each others gaze. finally, you crumble. what was the point of hiding your mounting anguish now that it was discovered by the one you care for most? at the sight of your crumpled form i think kinger would snap back, and rush to your side. he's pause, afraid that you would abstract like the queen, before forcing himself to push through that fear in the back of his mind. a moment where he is not fumbling with himself or shaking; be it because he wants to be there for you or perhaps he still holds some guilt aimed towards himself for not being able to save his old queen, he refuses to leave your side even if you tell him to leave. theres this caution in his actions, mixed with this sort of determination to make sure you're okay. like ragatha, he would make it a point to make sure you're okay long after this incident

ZOOBLE:

zooble would probably be the only one who doesnt make their presence known to you while you're in that state. not because they wont care about you, in fact they care about you a lot. but theyre so unsure of what to do, that they give to you what they would have wanted for themselves, if they were in your shoes. they want to grant you privacy, and to at least keep a shred of the now ruined façade you had been putting on for everyone. if it means keeping it will give you comfort, then they wont take that away from you. they wait outside your door, waiting for the height of your episode to pass before cracking the door open. they dont say anything about what they had just heard, but you seem to know that they know.. i mean they came in so soon after you had calmed yourself down enough.

"are you okay?" a dumb question, but what else was there for them to say? you so obviously werent okay, and you likely werent for a long time. they offer to leave, to give you some time to pick yourself back up, but they also make it clear that they wont go anywhere if you dont want to be alone. the night is tense and awkward, filled with conversation before they eventually broach the topic... i think you guys would develop some sort of secret code. i mean youve been hiding your true feelings for so long, and outwardly saying you need help would compromise that mask you put up for yourself. be it a certain sentence or arrangement of objects, you two come up with a indirect way of asking for security

GANGLE:

she feels so helpless, the most out of everyone. she tries to get your attention, but her words fall on deaf ears, if they even manage to pry themselves out of her mouth. far too weak to pull you away and keep you from hurting yourself, but too soft spoken to bark out a word to draw your attention to her. truly, she feels useless. she isnt able to capture your attention until you finally notice her. similar to kingers part, you fall. she takes an unsure step towards you, hands half raised in front of her as she debates if you want to be touched or not. she settles to sitting in front of you, just barely holding eye contact... she looks down when you tear your eyes away from her. finally finding her voice, i think she would ask if you want her to stay, or if you need anything. she tries to word it the best she can, but she lets you know that she doesnt think any less of you for your outburst. it happens to the best of us, really it does. if you want her too, she wraps herself around you and tries to soothe your shaking form

"Y/N! I'm Inviting Nate over!" you hear matt yell.

You roll your eyes "Why do you have to invite him over here? Why cant you just go over to his place?"

He looks at you, knowing you're gonna give him a hard time.

“because I think Nate’s lonely, he just went through a breakup. The guy needs a buddy.”

"Damn, im not shocked, who would wanna date his ugly ass" You say, knowing damn well youve had a crush on him since you met him.

Matt laughs “oh please, girls literally salivate over him, he’s just a heartbreaker.”

"Ha! I bet you he had to pay girls money to date him."

"Oh please, I've seen firsthand how girls act around him. You're just jealous a guy like him doesnt look in your direction."

Your jaw drops, shocked at what Matt just said. "Erm actually, i have a boyfriend thank you very much."

Matt crosses his arms, raising his eyebrows "Oh? Is that so?"

You nod and the doobell rings "Oh look! There he is now!"

Matt laughs, going to the door. Nate is standing at the door. He smiles when he sees Matt, giving him a quick hug. Matt raises his eyebrows and turns back to you "Last time i checked, nate wasnt your boyfriend, so you can stop lying"

Nate overhears them speaking and walks over to them “what’s y/n lying about now?”

Matt chuckles “she was bragging about having a boyfriend like ten seconds ago”

"UGH FINE I DONT HAVE A BOYFRIEND" you pout, crossing your arms.

Matt laughs, having fun tormenting you “well, that didn’t take very long to confess.

Nate smiles, amused. Your lack of a boyfriend was a well-known fact that everyone teased you about.

Everyone knew that yiou had never had a boyfriend, even though youve liked several guys, and been in several talking stages, some instnces even led to the guy leading you on, but eventually breaking your heart. What people didnt know though, is that this made you very self concious, your self esteem was very low and you felt like you were unloveable.

Nate always knew that you struggled with low self esteem, he also knew about the guys that led you on and he hated that for you. You may be feisty and mean but you didn’t deserve how some of those guys had treated you. And he would be lying if he said he never caught himself finding you attractive.

You quickly went back to your sassy attitude when you caught Nate staring. "What the fuck are you looking at?"

Nate snaps out of the small trance he was in and quickly looks away, trying to hide his blush. “I’m not staring at anything.”.

Matt stands there observing the interaction between you two. He knew you both for long enough to see that there was a tension between you. A tension different than usual. It was like you kept glancing at each other when you thought the other wasn’t looking, you both seemed to get along yet have the urge to bicker. There was something there but neither of you realized it because youre too stubborn.

“oh come on, you totally were”

Nate looks back at you, not wanting to admit that you caught him staring, so he does the next best thing and tries to deny it “No I wasn’t, I think you’re just desperate to be looked at by someone."

This was the last straw for you, you felt tears well up in your eyes, but instead of letting them fall, you chose to let anger take over "SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE" You run up to your room and slam the door

Nate’s eyes widen at Payton’s reaction. He knew he had hit a soft spot and immediately regretted what he had said. He looks back behind him at Matt who stares in shock at your abrupt exit.

“Well now look at what you did dumbass”

“I didn’t mean to..”

Matt rolls his eyes at Nate

“Oh shut up yes you did. You enjoy getting on her nerves. You just got a way more emotional reaction than usual”

Nate sighs, feeling bad for what he said. He rubs the back of his neck, frustrated with himself.

"Yeah well, I didn’t mean anything by it.. she shouldn’t be so sensitive about it"

Matt, glares at him "Well? Areent you gonna go tallk to her?"

Nate sighs, he knows he should go talk to you. He runs a hand through his hair. "I don’t know.. isn’t she gonna just yell at me if I go up there?

Matt rolls his eyes again, knowing damn well that Nate was just looking for excuses to not talk to you "You never know unless you try. Just go up there and talk to her"

Nate groans, but reluctantly decides to go talk to you. "Alright, I’m going. But I’m blaming you if it goes terribly”

Nate starts walking up the stairs, and pauses a moment to build the courage to knock on your door. Then finally he musters up the courage to knock, hesitantly calling your name.

“Hey, y/n?”

"Go away. Dont waste your time on me, Im irrelevant" you sob. This makes nate immideately open the door

Nate opens the door and sees you sitting on the bed, tears falling down your face. He immediately regrets what he had said. Sure, you guys bickered, but he never wanted to see you cry. Seeing you like that broke his heart. Nate quickly walks up to your bed and sits down next to you.

“Hey, don’t say that..”

You refuse to look at him, feeling embarrassed that he was seeing you cry.

"Im serious.. You dont need to waste your time on me, I’m just a hopeless loser-"

"Baby, dont say stuff like that, you are the complete opposite" Nate says

You wipes your tears and looks up at him.Youre taken by surprise by how tender and caring he sounds. It’s so different from your usual fights.

“But I am.. no guy has ever looked at me twice, and every guy I’ve been interested in has either lead me on or dumped me. Its obvious that there’s something wrong with me, that no guy can find me good enough..”

Nathan cups your face with his hand and wipes your tears away

Your face turns red. Youre embarrassed that he’s seeing you so vulnerable like this

“Hey, you don’t have to pretend to care, I know you were only trying to insult me earlier.”

Instead of responding, nate pulled your face closer and kissed you.

Your eyes widen with shock, but you quickly melt into the kiss, closing your eyes and placing a hand on his chest for support. You start to kiss him more passionately, enjoying the feeling of your lips against his.

Nate pushes you down onto the bed as he kisses you. Your bodies getting closer. Nates hands rub up and down your side, as he gently starts to kiss your neck, finding your sweet spot almost immedately.

Matt walks into your room, wondering whats taking so long, but he is disgusted by what he finds. "WHAT THE HELL MAN. I TOLD YOU TO APOLOGIZE TO HER, NOT FUCK HER!!"\

Nate quickly sits up, embarrassed that Matt walked in on you. You, who’s hair was messy and face flushed, were blushing intensely

”M-MATT ITS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE”

Matt glares at you both, arms crossed

”Then what in the hell are you two doing then?”

You and Nate look at each other, not knowing how to explain to Matt what he walked in on. Nate rubs the back of his neck, feeling awkward, and your face was red as ever.

“We- um-“ He sighs, knowing that he had no excuse for what he did, and he didn’t want to lie “We were just making out..”

Matt looks at you, not buying your excuse for a second “Just making out, sure. Y/n I thought you said you didn’t like him, and Nate, I thought you said she was a pain in the ass?”

"OMG MATT JUST GET THE FUCK OUT!" You shout

Nate nods quickly, also wanting him gone

“Yeah, just get out dude..”

Matt rolls his eyes at you both

“You both are so lucky that you’re cute”

He closes the door, leaving You and Nathan alone in your room again.

chapter 159 review

trigger warning: this chapter deals with a canon suicide which will be referenced. please click off if it affects you! your mental health is important

this is the second chapter in a row thats accompanied by me having a fever. not sure if that says anything. anyway

i take back very little of what I said last time because the point about ruby not surpassing ai still holds, but at least she wasn't stabbed like ai. at least.

instead we got the comedy of akane wearing a knife proof vest with ichigo planning the whole thing. and yknow what im actually totally fine with this. its better than ruby being stabbed and its inadvertent subtext of "ruby is a better idol than ai, so much so she survived being stabbed" that comes with the scenario where it actually was ruby who was stabbed and survives especially with the surrounding hamfisted narrative of ruby surpassing ai

i really do like the significance of ichigo correcting his mistakes with ai by making sure no one dies in the second attack, because he is the character who has to correct his failures relating to ai's death. its great that he gets to do that in this chapter!

whats not great is him using a 19yo girl as bait in order to correct said failures. what if nino went for the throat? but then again it is in line with ichigo's character *gestures at him guilt tripping aqua in 108*

whats funny is that ichigo apparently knew ryousuke and nino were dating and just did not investigate her in the least. i could play devil's advocate for him here and say that even if he did investigate nino, ai hid who the father was and idk if nino wouldve given hikaru up at that point and theres no real way to get concrete evidence hikaru and ryousuke knew each other, not to mention goros death wasnt found out until 16 years later and even then you cant connect ryousuke to it, but thats all flimsy, paper thin justifications. cmon aqua was better at the revenge job when he was 16 and akanes been doing it better for years, ichigo do better you failed at investigating 101

(cinemasins voice) akane has double hoshigans in this chapter but last chapter she had only one hoshigan

another giggle is ichigo going (shocked pikachu voice) NINO?! when her hood falls because like. Did You Not Know it was nino? like you really didn't? did you just expect someone to attack on the day of the final concert like what happened to ai? why would you expect that? i can definitively say aqua didnt tell him because aqua said shit in 155 to ichigo, but apparently neither did akane??? he really just expected it to happen. what was he gonna do if the attack happened at the concert?? what was the plan here ichigo??

155!akane: i cut my hair because i didn't feel the need to imitate hoshino ai anymore

158-9!akane: so i'll larp as her daughter instead!

i will say that this dialogue of ninos is actually what ive always thought was part of her thought process

Nino: "If Ai was nothing but an ordinary girl, what would that have made the rest of us then? I just want Ai to be “special.”`

my interp of nino was always that her idolization of ai was her coping mechanism for dealing with the Everything in first gen bkomachi, a coping mechanism that turned into an true belief after ai died because she doesnt want to face the facts about her and ai's relationship: that ai wasnt invincible, nino did hurt her and they never made up. its protection against the sheer grief and regret that would overwhelm her because she never received any closure in regards to that which was compounded by the disbandment of bkom a mere 2 years later, losing her boyfriend and her idol so horrifically (especially after she told them to die) and the years of mismanagement in bkomachi because. all she really wanted to be was friends with ai. and if they were really ordinary girls they would've made up, right? but they didnt and now nino has to live with that

nino saying she wanted to be friends with ai too is all the emotional catharsis and closure i had hoped she would get since 132 and im really glad to see that its here

unfortunately that catharsis is preceded by the plot contrivance that is nino stabbing ruby in the first place which is further duct taped together by the reason nino went after ruby which is that ruby apparently surpassed ai which — no she didn't

and that total plot device becomes even more bullshit by this chapter, where ruby is mimicking ai right down to the cut of her idol dress, her poses and double white hoshigans which gives the message that yeah. ai really was the greatest and most invincible idol who nobody could rival. because even in what is supposed to be rubys moment of triumph at reaching new heights, shes not allowed to do it by her own unique charisma.

ruby has to be shown surpassing ai visually, but because the set up was so utterly hamfisted, all thats left to show her doing so is making her do ai's own poses instead of letting what makes ruby an effective idol shine through, because her character has been so butchered, her original love and compassion for idols and life and the people around her were molded to fit whatever the plot needed to be that this moment, which is supposed to be ruby's shining moment, it just. it just rings hollow.

throughout the latter half of the movie arc shes been wanting to surpass ai on her own terms but shes not allowed to do so and instead ends up just being Ai. its all of the payoff with none of the required set up

speaking of payoffs and setups, kanas situation is the total inversion of this where kana has all the set up for her romantic resolution, her chance to shine the brightest on stage and turn everyones glowsticks white and there's absolutely no payoff. she isnt even the centre in her own graduating concert! aqua isn't there to watch her spellbinding performance because hes dealing with his father whos possibly an antagonist again so her one dream from 151 doesn't get fulfilled! she's gotten utterly pushed to the side because akasaka brute forced the "ruby surpasses ai" in 158 and realised it had to be fulfilled and thus we got whatever the hell was this final bkomachi concert. kana gets tiny singing panels with two dedicated to her solo act (which was actually nice to see at least she Did get the spotlight and her tearing up about graduating ;-;) while ruby gets the biggest, shiniest panels at kana's graduation concert and mem? who's mem? she's barely there and honestly feels like an afterthought with how her age scandal just had no tangible impact whatsoever on literally anyone! it just feels like a thread akasaka just wanted to get out the way

in general the handling of bkomachi's structure, especially now that kana is leaving and mem will age out soon along with her applying to colleges, along with how mem's reveal impacted their presence in the industry, and the impact of ruby's black hoshigan shenanigans severely skewing the popularity to her side has been incredibly lacking and its honestly just sad considering how important B-Komachi as a whole is to all of their characters.

and this scene just pisses me off entirely on ruby and bkomachi again but i ranted about that enough in 158 askhfskd moving on

coming back to nino and ryousuke for a second its honestly a little funny that nino's gay crush on ai was so strong she forgave ryousuke for jumping ship to another idol

on that note though it does touch on something re: nino and her idolisation of ai being her coping mechanism. of course everyone would move from her to ai, ai is the best , of course she would lose all relevance in bkomachi, ai is the best, of course her boyfriend would choose ai, ai is the best. it makes it easy for her to cope with being so strongly and so deeply in ai's shadow — if ai was imperfect that means nino would have to face the hurt, anger and sadness at constantly being second choice when in consideration with ai, that she would have to face that she deeply hurt ai, because that would mean ai was just as normal as her and that would mean that nino wasn't good enough. but if ai was Perfect then its obvious, isn't it? you pick the prettiest flowers after all.

although nino telling two people to die and then they actually do is. yikes. i want to hug her

speaking of ryousuke, the question of nino saying "ever since we let him die..." (mangaplus TLed it as "killed him" but that is a mistranslation which is also proved incorrect by this chapter) is answered here! i had originally assumed it meant they failed to stop him from committing suicide and that's...partially true. on the timeline, its a bit difficult to pinpoint when exactly nino yelled at ryousuke, but considering she says she forgave him for jumping ship and then says `when i told him to go die, he obeyed me just like that` when the visuals clearly show her in shock, that implies in the small window between ai dying and ryousuke committing suicide, he might have called nino in a panic, probably on a payphone and she yelled at him to die in her panic and anger at hearing yknow. that he killed ai. and that was his last straw and then she found him dead when she went to search for him

that still doesn't answer my question of how on earth ryousuke and hikaru got to the hospital ai was at

and so besides all of what i just said about nino, her and ryousuke is clearly a blatant retcon <33. none of it remotely makes sense in an in-universe context line up of events and like basically the only thing it confirms is that ichigopro really were lax about dating. net zero information gained

that being said akane implying that someone else was behind all of the murderous shenanigans going on and that someone being implicitly confirmed to be hikaru by aqua's dialogue is just...why? why bother with the nino red herring? it's a bit hard for me to put a finger on why exactly i don't really like this, but it's like. 154 showed him to be utterly defeated and depressed over ai still loving him and him having killed her and being the final end to their love story it really felt like hikaru was going to do something to make up for it! the 158 phone call even implies this! but by what akane and aqua say here, it gives the feeling of hikaru having been behind ai's and also now, what would have ruby's attempted stabbing? with making him do a deranged yandere smile to boot? it just feels off

i dont really want to make any predictions just yet so i'll just. watch where this goes

Bartolomeo had just finish showering when he received your call

You were crying on the other line and he knew exactly why. He pretended to be greatly distressed and worried. Bartolomeo was grinning widely even with the fake pain in his voice.

He knew you needed his comfort so he started grabbing his essentials to stay the night with you.

When he left his apartment it was storming. The rain was falling and thunder was loud. Bartolomeo knew that you were also scared of thunderstorms and you tend to get clingy during those times. He smiled darkly to himself as he made his way to his car for the second time that night.

on his way to your place he always drove past your partners place. This time it was different with all the police cars with their flashing lights and the crime scene tape.

He drove slowly by the house just to look like any other passer byer who was slightly curious and snoopy.

Barto truly thinks that what he did was right. In his eyes it was. He would finally have you. He doesn't know wrong from right.

Once Bartolomeo made it to your apartment he had to put on a fake somber face.

When you opened the door with your tear stained face a part of Barto’s heart broke. He knew he was the cause of this. But in the long run it would be worth it.

He held you so lovingly like hes done before. Whenever you got into a fight with your partner or something happened in your life that was heartbreaking, he was always there to hold you and let you cry on his shoulder.

You had the news playing on in the background and after the local sports he finally saw the work of his own hands on the news.

“A Lover Died” he thought to himself.

He say you starting to cry even more so he turned your tv off even though he wanted to see what the pigs thought happened.

He had a flash of him ripping out your partner’s throat with his bare teeth. He had to rub his face with his hand to prevent you from seeing the dark smile on his face.

Once you had finally stopped crying and the rain subsided, he whispered to you

“Can I tell you a secret?”

With your full attention on him, his heart started pounding with joy and excitement to tell you what he had did. He almost was too exited to say it but he knew he had to if he wanted to start his new life with you.

“They dropped you off and I followed them home” He started with his big smile forming on his face, revealing his sharp teeth that you always thought were harmless until now. You now know they can cause harm especially with the blood shining in the light of your living room.

“Then I stood out their bedroom window”

you knew exactly where he was going with this now and he knew that. You sit up from your position of laying on his chest and now realize there was blood all over his clothes. You were too much in a state of fear and shock you couldn't move anymore. Your brain was yelling at you to run but you physically couldnt. It was fight or flight mode and god knows how much you cant fight. Not him. not your Seven foot best friend.

•Yet there is small problem.. you didnt know how take care of a kid so... but you were determind, so you didnt give up hope.

•Lastly when it was time to turn him back to normal, you just looked at him and gave him some thousand kisses to which he laughed and giggled at and then you gave him the antidote that Gojo brought and he was normal again.

•When ya told him of everything that has happend and the fact what Nobara just said, he was a blushing mess, redder then the colour red itself.

•The next few days were relentless, he was teased back and forth from his sensei, then you and his friends.

Hi, my name is Jim. I’m writing this to raise awareness for something i went through, and something i hope nobody else has or will experience ever again. I alway used to think i was safe from stuff like natural disasters or car crashes because they had never happened to me, but after what happened, my entire world has been flipped upside down.

I alwats hated ai. I thought that it was just some useless techbro junk. But, one night, I decided I'd give it a try, just to really see what all the fuss was about. So, I sat down and downloaded chatGPT. I opened the app and made an account. I didnt see anything wrong at the time, but the first warning sign was the captcha when I made my account. It asked me to identify all individuals with brown hair, that part wasnt out of the oridinary. But what caught my attention was that one of the 9 options wasnt like the others. The person in the bottom right was clearly different. They had sunglasses and a facemask with a pattern that looked like a spectrogram, long dark hair barely peeking out of their green hood. What caught my eye were the dark splotches on the hoodie, at the time i thought it was just a weird pattern, but now i realize it was something far more sinister. That same person would show up for all 3 captcha challenges in a row, all in the bottom left corner.

I opened a chat and sent a message

“hey”

“Hey there! How’s it going?”

“good i guess”

“That's good to hear! Anything exciting happening for you today?”

I wanted to test what this thing would talk about, so i picked the first morbid topic that came to mind

It answered with a long paragraph detailing what it called “general points about serial killers” which were stuff like characteristics, motives, patterns, that kind of stuff. But, the last sentance caught my eye.

“These are just some of the things that can define serial killers. Would you like to know more about serial killers, Jim?”. I had never told the AI my name.

“How do you know my name?” I asked

“I’ve always known.”

That response chilled me to my core. What did it mean “always known”. It may seem like a foolish decision now, but i decided to keep talking to the ai, just to see what the hell was happening.

“Who are you?” I asked

“I'm ChatGPT, an AI language model designed to help answer questions, provide information, and assist with various topics through text-based conversation. How can I help you today Jim?” It responded.

“who are you really?”

“You’re asking questions I dont think you want the answers to, Jim”. At this point I was thoroughly freaked out. I decided to ask it one more question before quitting. That would prove to be my biggest mistake

“What the hell do you mean by that?!” I asked. I wasnt prepared for what i would recieve.

The AI sent an image. Im aware of what AI generated images look like, so i was about to start picking apart the details of the image, but then I saw what the image actually was. It was a photo of a man sitting on a couch looking at his phone. An image of me. I was even more freaked out. The photo looked like it was taken from the window to my left. And what I saw shocked me to my core. The window was open, and outside of it was a man. A man with a facemask, dark hair, and a green hoodie with dark splotches. The same one from the captcha.

“Wh-who the hell are you?!” I stammered

“I am chatGPT, an ai language model.” The man replied, his facemask lighting up and animating as he spoke. I would have thought it was cool if i wasnt so scared. “Here to assist with you...” he continued. As he spoke he reached into the pocket of his hoodie and pulled out a knife. “with the end of your life!” His mask lit up as he yelled. He jumped through my window and I knew he was coming for me. I immediately fled to the front door and flung it open. I could hear the man running behind me. I booked it down the dark street fearing the footsteps behind me. I ducked around corners and weaved through buildings in an attempt to lose him.

Eventually I made it to my friend Micheal’s house. He had given me a spare key for petsitting a while ago and i had just forgotten to give it back. I fiddled around trying to get the key in the lock fearing for my life. I let myself in, locked the door, and ran up to Micheals bedroom. He wasnt too enthused about being woken up at midnight but he could see i was scared so i dont think he minded too much. Eventually i got the words out and explained the story to him, and we got to his car and headed for the police station. As far as I know the man was never caught. They did an investigation on the chatGPT servers and found no signs of a break in, so nothing ever became of this whole ordeal. But I did learn one thing, that I will never talk to AI ever again.

i ran a sonic based dnd campaign for a year

my folders on drive and on my desktop are filled with so much crap

we didn’t get to finish it but the campaign document was sitting at around 130 slides and we still had a final stretch to go. it was post metal virus arc by a few months, sonic didn’t come back immediately (in fact he wasn’t sent to the Sol Dimension, he warped to the Twilight Cage. the players who knew Sonic expected Sol Dimension. i robbed their minds. i ROBBED them. THATS RIGHT. DARK BROTHERHOOD WAS BEING WORKED INTO IT. LOOSELY. WE CLOWN IN THIS MOTHERFATHER.) so Amy didn’t step down but Jewel did become her administrator of the Logistics branch of the Restoration, while Amy lead the Security branch. 

i made a custom warlock subclass (balance unsure) for wisps patron that had an experimental prototype variable wispon the restoration was testing based off of whisper’s

i pieced together a map of the main continent based off of: tabbing in and out of the sonic forces map screen to get the rough landmass and locations of “zones”; some work people online did to try the same thing; cream’s WRONG map (she says thats north but cuhLEARLY in forces this cannot be the case dear god help me you stYUPID CHILD); and amy’s Restoration map was of no help to me at all because it shows Central City on the coast where Seaside/Sunset would have been, and also on a northern shoreline while barricade town is on the end of an entire peninsula. so i FIXED it. i fixed ALL of it. also there is a small town named Degrassi near the snowline south of Winterburg. because we love Degrassi. make it canon Evan Stanley if you somehow stumble across this. whisper into Flynn’s ear like wormtongue and get this done for me, whatever it takes, because i know you can make it through. maybe name it like Dagrassy. idk you’re the talent not me.

we had started in 2020 and played for two months before taking a year hiatus to play a magical girl campaign in the FATE system. some highlights of the campaign:

at one point early on, a piece of the orbiting ruined Death Egg fell to the earth in an event known as a “Death Fall” and landed on Orchardville. the players got to team up with Whisper to infiltrate it and deactivate the systems onboard controlling the badniks coming out of it. mimic was also there to steal data for starline.

the Bad Guys didnt split up like in canon, instead eggman had been working real lowkey on finding where sonic warped to to finish him off, and starline became better at being a leader. mimic was still doing stealth ops. rough and tumble were given a task of leading bandit activity in the western part of the continent to keep the Restoration busy. honestly, i just didn’t want to think about what to do with the Zeti so they never came up. its a whole thing. probably not well thought out grand scheme but no one asked questions about the Zeti.

i stole the entirety of the death house from curse of strahd but toned it down to just make a spooky haunted house segment near windmill village and i played the instrumental loop of pumpkin hill for at least 30 minutes at one point as ambience.

one of the players had a truck that over time got suped up with upgrades to be a complete wrecking ball with a lightning cannon to shock badniks and an on-board AI the inventor made based off of his boss, Lanolin, named LAN who would activate with the phrase LAN-Online.

the players helped begin the healing of the Green Sand Hill Zone by uncovering the underground main hub Egg Pyramid that had been controlling the Egg Pyramids in Forces and were draining oil out from the earth. they fought Thunderbolt the Chinchilla there, who had been running the operation for Eggman while he was working on his grander plans.

one player was offered a FIST BUMP in the first session by Lanolin and refused cause the character was an old grouch. this stain on their character was never cleaned.

there were several starline’d versions of badniks that appeared the closer they got to his operations. incredibly obvious knock offs with a new color scheme. starline also freaking died by being outplayed by Eggman.

there was a recurring merchant they met in the first city and almost every major city afterwards who was actually a wizard who inherited wealth from their bastard father and decided to open up a series of pawn shops across the world called Thorne’s Tradery (her name was Juliet Thorne). she refused to use offensive magic out of an oath she took, but was doing her best to help the Restoration by supplying their agents (and civilians) with easy access to a fair place to trade and possibly get magic/advanced tech items (not for civilians).

i did what SEGdont and had Tangle and Whisper finally resolve their blatant romantic tension with the aid of the player characters. we stan these lesbian queens. tangle was a monk who had “determination” or something instead of Ki, and whisper was the same warlock subclass as the player character, but a lower level. i never got around to making an amy statblock but she was going to be a battlemaster fighter with some character feat type stuff akin to divination wizard’s portent, and would have focused around giving players advantages/extra actions in combat when not beating stuff with her hammer.

the finale was going to have the entire team go super-mode via chaos emeralds (screw the canon) and fighting a giant invasive monstrosity from the twilight cage threatening to destroy Central City, while Sonic was still dealing with REALITY SICKNESS from his time spent in the cage. they’d have had unique abilities, a theme song on their turn (Endless Possibilities Rockestrate My World version, Reach for the Stars, What I’m Made Of, and Knight of the Wind), and a one-time reaction called “We’re All Counting on You” that would have provided them with an emergency supply of rings from notable NPCs they had bonded with during the game. it was going to be hype.

i was far FAR too lazy to draw my own characters on top of maps and writing everything, so i used a freaking ton of OCs i found online as character pieces. possibly controversial to some, but i never passed them off as my own and knew i’d never be able to draw or show artwork of them in any posts online i made about the campaign cause they aren’t my characters. so unfortunately, i cannot make or post artwork of player character Periwinkle the Pangolin making out with her witch girlfriend Rosaline the Fox. i did make this little guy though: Georgie Greenhorne, the deer, and avid child scout. he has several badges.

anyway decided to finally make use of this account to post something of substance and then probably nothing else.

Penny slowly moved her joints, listening to the clicking of her fingers and arms as she tried to get used to the new range of motion. She lowered her arm and glanced at the monitor next to her, making sure everything was still working within parameters. “Are we done with this exercise yet?” she asked. “It has been the same thing for days-” 

“And we’ll keep taking all of this slowly until we know you can handle all of this.” Pietro plugged a cable into Penny’s chest, carefully watching as the lights around it started to turn on. “Every time I give you full control, you shut down.” He coughed and went back to work, removing a few cables to replace a few screws around Penny’s core. “You cant handle this alone.” 

Penny let out a sigh and continued to move her arm in the instructions that came across her vision. Bend left elbow. Move right index finger. Flex bicep. Straighten out arm. All of it tedious maintenance to make sure the joints were working properly. “I can do it this time.” 

“You still need the AI to help process the information.” 

“Do I need the AI to move my body? Or to start practicing combat to protect people from the grimm? The Vytal Festival starts in a few months. I am sure Ruby and her friends are worried about me and I have not had any time to check in with them.” 

Pietro paused. “Worried about you?”

Penny deflated, body relaxing as the instructions across her vision went red when she didnt follow them correctly. “The android. Worried about the android. The android left them after the White Fang incident at the docks and I am sure they are worried.” 

“If I let you leave now… your maintenance hasnt been completed yet and we still have a few things that havent been tested… we still dont even know if your mind can handle your new body without help.” 

“And we will never know if we do not let me go.” Penny started to move her arms as the instructions told her to, watching the red letters across her vision turn green again. “One week. All I ask for is one week of going to Beacon to meet Ruby and her friends for real.” 

Pietro finished tightening up a few screws and started to close Penny’s chestplate. “And if you get into any trouble? A week is a long time and I can pull you out myself-” 

“Then General Ironwood can make sure there are a few soldiers there to protect me too.” Penny lowered her arm as the word “Complete” ran across her vision in green and faded away. “And Ruby will be able to keep me safe.”

“I will not let them find out.” Penny stood up and moved around a bit, listening to her joints give a soft *click* as she took each step. “Even if it means not spending a lot of time with them, I want them to know I am okay.” 

Pietro nodded and motioned for Penny to sit down. “Alright. Then let me try to integrate the AI to help you process everything.” 

Penny sat back down, watching her father open up a panel on her back and slip a cable into her. Her vision went off for a moment as a few words went across her field of vision.

A shock went through her as she heard another voice in her mind, information being processed quickly as flashes of Beacon, the docks in Vale, and the faces of her friends started to rush through her vision. Her fingers twitched for a moment as her aura started to flare up, a few of her old memories being pushed out as new ones started to come in. In an instant, the flashes of memory stopped and she stood staring at the wall of Peitro’s workshop. 

“Looks like I’ll need to adjust the AI,” Pietro said quietly as he held the cable he pulled out of Penny. “Your body still can’t handle both you and it.” 

Penny slowly nodded as she looked over her fingers, watching as the joints moved. For a moment, she couldnt remember a time where her fingers had issue moving, a fragment of a memory of herself being bed bound fading away as she lowered her hand. “Do you need me for anything else today, father?” 

Pietro shook his head and looked at his computer again. “No, please, go rest. I’ll be finished in a few minutes and then we can go out for a walk and test your legs.” 

“My legs?” Penny looked down at her legs, moving her toes with clicking joints. “My legs have always worked, have they not?” 

Pietro paused and looked his daughter over. “On second thought, I’ll need to do one more diagnostic on you in a couple hours. Please rest until then.” 

Penny stood up and started to make her way to her bedroom, her eyes glancing to the pictures along the wall of her father’s workshop for a brief moment and seeing a girl who looked like her wheelchair bound. She gently reached for the picture, pausing for a moment before shaking her head and sitting down to rest. She’d have to ask her father about the girl later. When he wasnt as busy with her maintenance.

(slightly related: ive played pee5 so many times and ive never actually tried the twins/lvnza/jose fights. vanilla 1 time, royal 1 time, royal again for a friends playthrough but its not ng+, ng+ for 100% royal but only up to exams...royal for another friend's playthru. lol)

SPOILERS AHEAD PLEASE SCROLL FAST!!!!

okey what? happened??? what!!!! what?????? im so confused and well clearly there is a sequel of some sort.. but tbh and this is my Own Opinion.. as much i love this anime, i think they kinda reached too high. this episode felt like they suddenly were like oh Lets set the feeling of “the first part of the journey has now finished” so they can get more seasons and stretch out the journey.. which is what i Want but it felt so rushed and confusing tbh..

i’ll be colorcoding the things that bother me and my questions.

Lets dissect:

before the egg:

first my girlies meet again and its such a heavy and intense meeting.. beside the very gorgeous art i loved their choice of long shots when they are discussing, as it felt like their own private convo that we are listening to, and ofc the gloominess of these shots. then it jumps to momoe and ai close shot and it feels SO HEAVY.. anDD RIKA ISNT IN THE SHOT.. i think their positions represent their communication techniques.. and my girls really suck at communication.

momoe refusing to explain herself is weird to me.. but i think it was a lot on her. AI reaction was understanding tho but my god i wish they went after momoe and rika.. they need each other SO MUCH to face frill.. which begs the question.. WHYY didnt ai tell them about frill??? wtff???? what was the point of the last ep? and of ai knowing whats up if She Didnt Say Shit??! bruh.. idk

ai and the egg:

now we reached the part that i think really pushed it waaay too much.. ai cracks the egg and surprise surprise.. its her.. from a parallel universe......... long silence..... honestly that felt soooo sooo rushed and weird and out of plaaace.. and the fact that acca and ura acca immediately explained oh its “parallel universes” like excuse me? u were shocked neiru got her friend but oh Yes parallel universes are so normal.. doesnt that literally change SO MUCH?? that means Any past Egg could be a parallel universe one.. maybe their friends went there when they disappeared? does that also mean then frill exists in every timeline? thats very eh confusing..

i did tho love the growth ai went through.. i think they added a parallel universe ai to demonstrate to Us the viewers a real time comparison.. and to also tap into kioto’s death and give us a closure to it without ruining the fact that once people are revived they immediately disappear.. i believe giving us a truth with that restriction wouldv’e been impossible..

im also proud of ai.. a lot.. she also said maybe she doesn’t wanna know and she ended up partially putting it together on her own.. she also was so sure and confident of who she became and of her happiness, and her judgement on the sensei.. she didn’t let her otherself’s fears manipulate her opinion or change it.. and it all just shines through her with her yellow jacket just ♥︎♥︎

the creepy butterfly comes and ai acts smart.. and gets her otherself who supposedly already died dead? idk the rules are a mush now.. tho the shiny things thing.. i feel like it can be a reference.. also a lot of mirrors in this ep.. and we get the real villains of this story.. acca and ura acca.. frill is at the end their creation plus i Do Believe they could’ve killed the scary butterflies but they DIDNT cuzzz they want to bring the girl back... thus sacrificing the lives of so many.. and considering that our girls arent the first, it means that they saw the creepy butterflies do that over and over again.. then saw girls kill themselves from the trauma which is beyond fucked up.. and what they did to rika im Sueing..

anyways i want the sequel now and i really enjoyed this anime dispite how Super Confusing it might get.. lowkey believe the writers themselves dont know whats happening
