Minette watches Medici, part 9 (Old Scores)
- Yes, my friends, the triumphant return of Minette watches Medici is here! The series that noone liked, Minette least of all... Like, you thought reading it was painful?! Try writing this shit!
- Okay, first off, the theme song - FUCK the theme song. Either reuse Renessaince, or don’t. Do NOT fucking cheat by using its inferior knockoff. Understood?!
- The characters aren’t good enough for me to fall in love with, but I still Vibe with them in general. Except for Lorenzo, who is hot, smart and in general a veritable boyfriend material - well, except for the whole “banging a married woman” thing, but it’s renessaince Italy, people are having extramarital shags left and right, we can’t go all Savanarola on their asses, not when real Savanarola is just around the corner...
- Speaking of clergy! My stupid ass mistook Piero for some kind of family priest. Would the Medici even have a family priest at this point? Like, maybe, they were of course loaded and their household might’ve been big enough to warrant it...
- The evil Pazzi brother has a strong “if villain evil why hot” energy. What can I say? Minette loves herself some good cheekbones, and I strongly suspect this guy is going to be the old Albizzi of this season. Helps that his most evil act so far was beating the shit out of Giuliano, and I personally don’t care about Giuliano.
- The most thrilling subplot of this season is “did Sean Bean keep true to his vow to stop feeding the meme machine and never ever take another role where he dies?”. Also, Ned Stark did NOT age well. Which, okay, he’s not there to be hot, and his show son is hot enough to cover the raging unsexyness of not only his father, but also his stupid brother.
- Speaking of! Lucrezia’s boyfriend is apparently played by Halbrand from The Rings of Power. Yes, the man meant to be Sexy Sauron that doesn’t end up being all that sexy. Honestly, I cannot fathom how the producers over there at Amazon looked at this show and were like “why, yes, wouldn’t EVERYONE be tempted to join the dark side by this hot piece of ass?”. Like, no, I personally wouldn’t be tempted into a game of spin the bottle. Baby Pazzi’s personality doesn’t help any, like him and Lucrezia are just Mehmet Giray and Fahriye hardboiled without salt. I mean, it is just the first episode, so maybe they get better later, but still.
- “We raised Sandro as our own” - NO. Show, I am willing to swallow anything, but do not try to convince me the Medici family has taken in Sandro Boticelli of all people as their ward. From now on, I am just pretending this is some kind of Lorenzo’s artist buddy, who just happens to be named Alessandro, and very much not the author of The Birth Of Venus and Primavera.
- Political stuff is still the best part of this show bar none. Just... A+++ out of the gate, no notes. “Did the Pazzi family orchestrate the attack?” may not be as exciting a premise as “Who killed old Giovanni?” (or “is Sean Bean going to die again?”), and probably doesn’t have an answer that interesting, but it still gives some juicy, juicy drama. Though if the whole thing was orchestrated by the guy who wanted to marry his son to Lucrezia, I will get pretty mad at the blatant ripoff of the last season, where a third party also turns out to be the real villain.
- One annoying thing that persists (and if anything seems to have only gotten worse) is the attempt to whitewash the Medici family. Like, I get that we want to add layers(tm) and likeability(tm), but the show’s attempts to pretend they are anything but ruthless protocapitalists trying to make their way in an oligarchical political system do sometimes go way too far. Lorenzo is already hot and smart, I won’t get mad if he isn’t also perfectly good and saintly and shit.
- Contessina had a cameo in this episode! Yay! Also, I wonder if Piero’s second daughter appears in the show; I mean, she doesn’t have to, considering she was already married at this point, but you know. It would be nice.
- Overall a nice return to form, no big complaints from me so far...

Chapter Summary: “I don’t want to go back,” Gavin breaths, quiet and choked as he fidgets. “It’s… Let me just start at the beginning. It’s a whole bloody mess if I don’t.”
A/N: Yay more story! Don’t worry, this is only the start to Gavvy’s backstory >:) Next chapter should hopefully be updated in two weeks though I’ve fallen a bit behind due to school work and I want to catch up before I’m posting more chapters. Though I won’t delay the next chapter for more than a week. Keep an eye open for updates. As always, reblogs and comments really, really appreciated!!

The shop closed early after Geoff dragged Gavin upstairs to the apartment, calling everyone else to meet. Gavin sits on the couch with his arms wrapped tightly around himself as he watches Geoff start to pace across the carpet. The glow was faint in Gavin’s hands; he could feel their warmth. Geoff sends a glare over to him and Gavin swallows, shoving his hands further under his arms.
“What’s going on?” Jack says as he slips in, the other two right behind him. “Is someone hurt?”
“No,” Geoff grunts. “But this one has people looking for him. Some fuck dressed as a police officer came in and gave me Gavin’s description. He was determined to find him and I could tell he suspects Gavin’s around here. Have you been getting into shit while you’ve been here?” he snaps the final part at Gavin.
“No, I haven’t done anything!” Gavin says, voice cracking.
Geoff stares then gives a small nod. “Did you know who that was?”
Gavin swallows a bit, glancing to see all their eyes on him. “Yeah. He’s from… a place I ran away from. I place I had to get away from, Geoff.”
“Did you fucking tell this guy Gavin was here?” Michael interrupts, turning his snarl to Geoff.
“Of course not,” Geoff says, raising his hand nonchalant. “I may not know what’s going on, but I could read enough from the guy. He claimed he was trying to keep people safe, but there was far too much annoyance in him. He didn’t believe the threat he was describing. And it didn’t help that he was dressed like a cop, clearly he wasn’t one.”
“He isn’t a cop,” Gavin confirms. “Or… at least not like a cop in the city. He was just security.”
“Security where?” Geoff raises an eyebrow, pushing a little further. Gavin swallows, not able to look at him and he hears him sigh after a beat of silence. “I know you’re scared. But I just want to know what we’re up against. I want to know how much I need to worry about our safety.”
“You’re entitled to your past,” Jack adds in as he sits down besides Gavin. “But Geoff’s right that we need to know something to help. Tell us what you can, the minimum that is needed to be known. And I promise, if this is a place that has hurt you, we won’t let them take you. Us with Abilities look out for each other, remember?”
“I don’t want to go back,” Gavin breaths, quiet and choked as he fidgets. “It’s… Let me just start at the beginning. It’s a whole bloody mess if I don’t.”
“Hey, don’t worry about us judging you,” Jeremy assures, sitting down carefully on his other side. “We take care of each other here, remember? And most of us don’t have the best of histories as well.” He reaches a hand out, but Gavin flinches away, shaking his head. His hands still burned, light threatening to bleed out. Jeremy frowns, confused, but lowers his hand back down.
Gavin takes a deep breath as they fall silent and wait for him to talk. He closes his eyes, memories hanging in sight as he opens his mouth.
“I was born with these powers, but they only started presenting after I was a few years old. At least that’s what I’ve been told. Don’t relly have a lot of memories from that young. Just faint ones, more feelings than anything else. But when I was young, six or seven, something happened. I don’t know exactly what caused it, hell, it was probably something idiotic and stupid since I was a child, but something upset me. I threw a tantrum. Got worked up. And so I used my Ability. In a way that got attention from those who have… interests in those like us. It’s a bright bloody thing. Hard to keep it hidden, even harder when I didn’t know I should have. Next thing I remember, I was being picked up by some people in white coats and taken to a place called Prome Labs.”
He remembered the lab coat, pristine, bright, as the person held inside it knelt down besides him. “Come with me,” the voice said, soft but firm. Gavin didn’t want to, but he was told he had to. This person looked like a doctor and he can trust the doctor, his mother told him he could trust doctors. They offer a hand and Gavin took it. They lead him out of the small plastic chair, past the big wooden desk and boring tree paintings of the office, and through the carpeted halls that he had been stuck in for what felt like days. Waiting for his family. He looked up again to the person holding his hand, as they stare ahead with determined movement. Maybe this person was going to take him to them.
They glanced down to him as he stares and offered a tight smile. Gavin gave a polite smile back and asked where they’re going. The person took a moment, face screwing like his father’s used to when he was trying to answer all his persistent questions. “A place for you to stay,” they settled on. The sentence made Gavin’s stomach twist in a way he wouldn’t understand until much, much later.
“It’s described as a research facility and what they were researching was us. A handful of kids with powers that either scared parents or their parents didn’t like that their kid could do something unnatural, so they left us in the hands of the researchers of the lab. We stayed there, or at least I did, full time. Some could go home at the end of the day or week if their Abilities weren’t considered dangerous enough. We’d have school there, eat, sleep, play there. And they’d run about every bloody medical test in the world on us. Punish us if we used our powers. Tried every weird new medication or surgery to try to “fix us”. They said they wanted to decrease our powers’ effects. Make it less dangerous. Allow us to ‘properly integrate into society’. They wanted to fix us.”
He was laying down in another MRI machine, but this time the loud grinding was getting on his nerves. He was tired, some new test the geniuses wanted to try involved a bunch of needles and small shocks of electricity given while he was hooked up to electrodes scanning his brain. A test that left him sore, in pain, and exhausted and he just wanted to sleep or do anything other than suffer one more test. It was so loud and he didn’t want to stay perfectly still, he didn’t want to be here. He wanted to be gone, he wanted to be in bed and asleep or talking with his friends. Anywhere but here.
He didn’t know why they stopped at first, as the machine’s whir dwindled down and then Gavin was yanked out. As his eyes flew open, there was a flurry of motion, shouting and gesturing over him as the room flooded with people. The room was bright and as Gavin blinked and looked down, he saw those cracks in his skin that let the warm sun out inside him growing and pulsing. Getting deeper and deeper and the light grew bigger and bigger and maybe this meant he was dying. But as he clenched his fists, he had never felt stronger.
He flinched and yelled as a hand grabbed his shoulder, startling him in its roughness. The person screamed back, hand ripped away. The person held it out and blood came from the palm, dripping to the floor. Then, more shouting, the world another eruption of noise that hurt Gavin’s head more than the machine and he gripped his hair, wanting it to stop. Let this all finally stop. He didn’t realize he was yelling until his throat was burning, as he was gasping for air.
There was a prick to his arm, a familiar sting. Gavin thrashed out at it, but then the world felt dizzy. His breath felt heavy as the light flickered and then everything turned off.
Gavin sighs, looking to his hands as they felt cold again, seeing the light gone. “I know they wanted to take the powers away. No matter what, though, they couldn’t. No matter what new idea they had for what caused it, nothing would stop it. Nothing will get rid of them.”
“And you got out,” Jack speaks first through the silence that enwrapped them after Gavin finished. “I take it you escaped?”
Gavin nods, swallowing. “Yeah. Found a hole in their security system. Got some help from one of the teachers. They, um… They had started something that showed progress in suppressing powers. But the kids, now adults, who underwent it weren’t the same afterwards. And I didn’t want to go through whatever they were doing. Not with being the one with the strongest abilities there. So I got out. And ran.”
Geoff lets out a long breath, running a hand through his hair. “Fuck me,” he mutters. “I know you’re not lying, but shit this is a lot. How big of an organization are we talking here?”
Gavin shrugs. “There weren’t a lot of kids in it. But I don’t know how many people in total are with the place. There always seemed to be a lot more than just the ones we saw.”
“We won’t let them find you,” Michael says firmly, hands clenched into fists. “No fucking way we’re letting you back into the hands of people trying to hurt you.”
Gavin looks up again, lips turned up to hear the fierce protection in his voice. “Thank you.”
“They might not know for sure that you’re here,” Jack offers. “And we can keep you from being visible to any customers who may walk in. So word doesn’t get out.”
“We need to be more careful, too, ” Geoff says. “But we need to keep our eyes and ears open for these guys too.” He pulls out a card from his pocket, throwing it to the coffee table and Gavin’s mouth goes dry as it lists a recognizable name and logo. “We’ll need to keep an eye out for anything like this. Tear down posters if they start setting those up. And deny Gavin’s here to anyone who asks.”
“We know how to keep quiet,” Jeremy gives a firm nod. “Like hell we’re letting Gav get got. He’s one of us now, right?”
Gavin beams a little more at that, tearing his gaze away from the card to look at their firm but gentle faces. “Thank you. I swear, I’ll stay down. I don’t want cause trouble for you. I can’t go back, though. Please.”
“You aren’t,” Jack says. “We’ll help you.”
Gavin nods, taking in a long shaky breath, staring back down at the card that etches a design that sends shivers down his spine.
--
Despite the other’s assurances, the fear still buzzed under his skin. Knowing that they were looking, that they almost found him. He buries under the blanket on the couch that had become is bed. It’s late, the moon hanging in the window, and the others have all went to bed. But Gavin knows he won’t be able to sleep.
There’s a creak of a floorboard and Gavin jolts up, starting to raise a hand up until he makes out a familiar figure. “Sorry,” Jack’s soft voice whispers. “Just came out to grab some water. I hope I didn’t wake you.”
“No, you’re ok,” Gavin deflates, laying back as his heart starts to beat again. “I was already awake.”
Jack frowns and moves over to him. “Having trouble sleeping?” he says, sitting down onto the couch.
Gavin nods, curling his feet up to give him room. “Too worried.”
Jack nods. “Yeah, I guess I would be too. May I?” he says, reaching a hand to his shoulder.
Gavin glances to it and nods, leaning into his hand, which squeezes reassuringly. Gavin expected Jack to start reassuring him again. Tell him how he’s safe. Jack remains quiet though, a calming presence for a few minutes as Gavin focuses on breathing. Focuses on the grounding of Jack’s touch.
“You know,” Jack says into the silent room. “I think it’s really brave of you to have escaped a place like that.”
Gavin blinks, turning to look to him. “I don’t know. I don’t feel brave. Pretty scared right now.”
“No, you never really do feel brave in the moment. But it was brave, to leave all you’ve known. Even if it wasn’t a good place. And we’re glad you’re here now. The other boys seem to really love your company.”
Gavin gives a small smile at that, nodding. “Thanks, Jack. I’m sorry I’ve brought this too you all. But I promise, if anything happens, I won’t bring them to you. I don’t want any of you getting hurt. You’ve been so kind to me.”
“We’ve been nice because you deserve a little kindness after a life like that,” Jack says. “And don’t worry about us. We can handle our own. We’re pretty tough. And I think you’ve gotten the other boys to not want to give you up without a fight. Though there’s no fighting right now. Right now, you’ll lay low and we’ll keep an eye out. Give it some time and it can all blow over.”
“You don’t know that for sure,” he grumbles, looking down at his hands.
“I suppose I don’t,” Jack relents. “But we will do everything that we can do. Take all the precautions we can. And those boys are strong. And Geoff can be pretty helpful should anything happen. A lot more helpful than he is normally, slacking off and napping in the store when he’s supposed to be watching the front,” he smiles.
Gavin can’t help a small chuckle at it. “Thanks Jack.”
“Of course,” Jack chuckles. There’s a bit of quiet between them, both not really sure what to say next. “You’re not going to sleep well out here alone, will you?”
“I don’t know. It feels a bit too open. The windows are pretty big, the room too.”
“Well, come on then,” Jack says, standing back up. “We can grab the couch cushions and pillows and I’ll make you a bed on the floor in our room. That way you aren’t sleeping alone. We should’ve gotten you a proper bed by this point anyway. We’ll make do until we look into getting a mattress tomorrow.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to invade in your and Geoff’s space-“
“I wouldn’t offer if I wasn’t sure. Now, let’s go.”
Gavin bites his lip but at Jack’s big smile, and the pain in his chest at the thought of staying out here, he nods and pushes himself up.
It takes a bit of creativity and wrapping everything in blankets to keep it together, but they build a makeshift bed for Gavin on the floor, disrupting Geoff to make him help until he passed out on the bed again halfway through. Laying down on it felt better already, as he can see Jack and Geoff’s forms besides him. Memories of watching other bodies sleep in bunk beds besides him float around his head. Fond ones, of whispered stories shared in secret, of sharing books to read under a flashlight in the dark, of knowing the others were right there in case anything happened.
“Sleep well now, Gav,” Jack says as he settles on to the bed, clicking off the lamp.
Gavin smiles and this time when he closes his eyes, he slips right to sleep.

BNHA OC 2: Tanaka Rin
My second OC for BNHA. I came up with her second as a counterpart to Hibiki but I love her on her own as well.
Hibiki's Bio
Hero Profile
Once again, I'm so sorry there isn't a Read More. I'm on mobile and there's no damn way for me to do it.
APPEARANCE: Rin is pretty tall and of athletic build. She has bright blue hair (dyed from her natural darker blue) that, while the style changes fairly frequently, always stays short. It's never past her chin and is usually shorter than that. Because of her quirk, she is completely unaffected by the outside temperature. That means she can literally wear anything she wanted at any time, much to the annoyance of her friends. She has a decent fashion sense, but is literally blind and so can't see the colors for anything. Though even if she could, she has the confidence to wear crazy color combos. She likes people's reactions to her attire like a neon pink miniskirt in the dead of winter or a big fluffy coat in the summer heat or something. Rin does generally keep it seasonal for the most part though she still wears clashing colors. Doesn't help that Hibiki is usually the one to help Rin out in that department, and while SHE is sighted, she has absolutely no fashion sense herself. So Rin gets to enjoy walking around like a fucking disaster. For those who try to make negative comments, she cheerfully informs them that she's blind and that usually shuts them up. She also usually wears sunglasses because it's much easier to use her thermal vision when outside light is blocked out.
This doesn't really do it justice, but I'm limited to what Love Nikki is giving me. I could go more clashing, but most of that also involves clothes that don't line up (like shirts going outside the coat, etc) and I hate the look of that.
PERSONALITY: Rin is bright and cheerful and very outgoing. She is persistent in her desire to befriend most people she comes across, but knows when to tone things down or when someone needs space. Like Hibiki, she will also drop everything to help someone out, though it is far less draining on her than Hibiki. She's a fixer though so she's not great to go to if you just want to vent. If you do want to do something about something or help getting something done, then she is perfect for the job.
While Rin exudes positivity, she certainly has her own insecurities, mostly stemming from her fear that she isn't good enough to be a hero. She's not the strongest or the smartest, the fastest, most technically skilled, or have the best quirk. On top of that, she's blind. While her quirk goes a long way to make her independent, she still relies on others for a lot of things and suffers from imposter's syndrome. Being at UA has actually helped her a lot to combat these feelings, but they can still hit her pretty hard. Because she hides it behind a wall of positivity, it can be hard to spot when she's beating herself up over something. Hibiki seems to be one of, if not the, only one who can consistently read her and guide her through it. Rin isn't quick to anger unless it is on someone else's behalf in which case, she really lets it loose and will want to do something about it.
QUIRK: Her quirk is Heat. Specifically, she can make herself a heat sink or heat source and can use that to control the temperature of what she touches or the air immediately surrounding her. Her entire body is therefore unaffected by extreme temperatures (and she doesn't need to regulate a normal body temperature). This means that she doesn't get burned or frostbite so she can be standing in a raging inferno and only need to worry about getting enough air to breathe. She has yet to reach the temperature limits on her body so her intensity and range is largely limited by the amount of energy she has and any environmental constraints. Because her quirk uses her body's energy, she needs to eat a lot to keep up. Her range can increase with contact with a conductive material as it can help direct the flow of energy. Her quirk doesn't produce fire or ice and so can be difficult for an opponent to track if they're not aware of it. Rin also uses her quirk as a form of thermal imaging to navigate the world around her. This means that she has a lot of independence and doesn't need external aids for most situations. Additionally, she is completely at ease in the dark as there is little change to her.
There are, however, limitations. She can't sense through barriers such as walls, even those that sighted people can see through like glass. She can sense through barriers if a conductive material goes through it to the other side, but even then the clarity is greatly diminished. Though even that can be very useful. Another limitation is that she can't read anything printed or written on a page, screen, sign, etc. She just sees that there is a paper there. For school work, she is allowed a laptop that has a text-to-speech option so that she can hear back her notes after she types them. Rin will also have one of her classmates go over her notes to make sure she didn't miss anything, though usually her own notes tend to be better since it's faster to type than to physically write things down. For non-school work, ie. when she's out and about, she has Hibiki or someone else with her read something out to her. She would even ask strangers, but this usually only happens when she's out shopping and needs to know a price. The same goes for colors. Rin was previously sighted so she remembers colors and even processes her thermal vision via colors but she doesn't know something's real color. Hibiki has gotten pretty good at describing colors to her.
PAST: Not nearly as sordid (or detailed) as Hibiki's to be sure. She has a loving family and an older brother. Her childhood was fairly normal to be sure. Rin was always popular in school because everyone just liked her and she always made an effort for anyone to feel included. Especially the new girl, Hibiki, who keeps to herself in the corner. And she even succeeds in becoming her friend! Yay!
But her life changed forever when she turned 11. All she wanted was to figure out the limitations of her quirk. Naturally this meant trying to get her hand as hot as she could as fast as she could. Turns out that really hot things get really really bright and that prolonged exposure to bright light can permanently damage your eyes. After one too many times, her sight never returns. After that, Rin was a mess. Losing a sense was hard and it didn't help that everyone treated her like a fragile porcelain doll. Almost everyone. Hibiki didn't. In fact, she was the same calm voice of reason that she always was. In fact little had changed between them. Just the subject matter of their conversations. It was Hibiki who pointed out that maybe she could try using her quirk to sense things like the goggles police and heroes sometimes use. And like that, they went from friends to inseparable best friends.
They applied to UA together and while they both got in, Hibiki didn't make it to the hero course like she did. Initially Rin was nervous because Hibiki helped her out a lot over the last few years and now they could only be together during lunch or off hours (even though Hibiki was convinced that being in different classes mean they would drift apart, Rin insisted otherwise). She would have to face being blind alone for the first time. That anxiety didn't last very long because her class was pretty cool about it. Her teachers also made sure she had proper accommodations both in and out of class.
The sports festival was very exciting because she was able to see just how much she'd grown, but Hibiki as well. Rin made sure that they did their handshake in front of everyone to show both Hibiki and the world that whatever happened, they were still friends. And even as Rin finally knocked Hibiki out of the ring, both were smiling. Even though she didn't win, getting third was pretty damn cool.
Rin does her field training with Backdraft in the Musutafu fire department. She finds that she actually quite likes rescue work even though she still wants to fight villains. She continues to train, increasing her stamina to use her quirk more and in larger strength.
Even though she was sad that one of her classmates chose to drop the hero course, she was very happy that that meant that Hibiki was now joining the class. She was very active in getting Hibiki accepted into the group. Rin also worked hard to make sure that Hibiki was all caught up as far as the hero course was concerned. Rin got her provisional license and did her internship with a hero that was more villain-centric to get that kind of experience and was particularly useful for night missions because of her thermal vision, but it made her lose a lot of sleep. She started taking naps between classes and during lunch, relying on Hibiki to sneak her snacks during class to keep going.
OTHER SKILLS AND TIDBITS: Rin is the resident Hibiki whisperer. If you ever wanted Hibiki to do something, your best bet is to get Rin on it. Rin is down for pretty much anything and can talk Hibiki into pretty much anything even for a more passive role.
She has ADHD. She has it mostly under control, but when she doesn't, Hibiki knows how to pull her back together and get back to work.
Because Rin's body is resistant to extreme temperatures, when she thinks she is getting sick, she will "flash" to basically incinerate the pathogen. Unfortunately this also burns away any good bacteria she has in her gut as well as any non-digested food still in her system. The combo makes her nauseous anyway. She gets scolded for it every time but still insists she'll get it right some day.
She is the undisputed best cuddler because she can make her body temp juuuust the right level of warmth for whoever she's cuddling. This is especially popular during the winter.
By default, her body temperature is the normal and average level. But sometimes it will accidentally rise or lower itself without her noticing, usually due to emotions. She doesn't really notice until it's pointed out by someone that she accidentally burned or froze something.
Rin is really good to have in the kitchen because she can tell when things are cooked through to the exact temp it should be, make sure something is cooked evenly, or retrieve an ingredient that accidentally fell into boiling water too early, etc. Her favorite "party trick" is for when people are unfamiliar with her quirk, she will "accidentally" lean on a hot stove and freak them out.
She has a pretty mischievous streak in her. While she doesn't like initiating pranks, she loves being an accomplice in them. Rin is staunchly neutral during prank wars but is more than willing to lend her services to either side.
Rin likes "watching" movies even though she can't see the images on the screen. She enjoys making up her own as she hears the dialogue. The first question her friends usually have when the credits roll is "okay, what do you THINK just happened?" A lot of the time, the answer is a lot more fun than what actually happened because she has a really active imagination.
She can read Japanese braille, but it doesn't come up incredibly often. Rin is in the process of learning Japanese sign language because she wants to be good representation for disabilities and advocate for accessibility.
Rin doesn't like "turning off" her thermal vision very much, but it can get tiring after a while. She tends to do so during class since she doesn't really need it then. She'll only "turn off" outside of class if she's alone with Hibiki since she was around from the beginning. She's okay being vulnerable around her.
She doesn't like having long hair herself, but greatly enjoys playing with Hibiki's.
Rin is pansexual and has known since junior high. But she hasn't done a lot of dating since she only seems to have a consistent crush on a certain someone who just doesn't seem interested.
Rin doesn't like travelling very far by herself because she's afraid that she will suddenly get too tired to maintain her thermal vision, leaving her vulnerable, lost, and alone.
She really likes cats, but it's kind of a problem because Hibiki is allergic. Hibiki will still go with her to cat cafes to keep her company, but Rin usually feels really bad about it and so will usually ask other people to join her before resorting to asking Hibiki.
Just as Hibiki is the best hider in hide and seek, Rin is the best seeker because of her thermal vision. She is no longer allowed to be seeker.
