Stray Kids with an S/O who is a huge horror movie fan
pairing: ot8 x gn!reader
genre: fluff
disclaimer: this is as always just my opinion :)
a/n: as a huge horror movie fan myself, I had to write this! enjoy!🩷
Chan:
As he said before, it's not like he's scared of horror movies, he just doesn't think they're interesting to watch. But, you're interesting to him and he loves you so he will definitely try for you. He also thinks he won't get scared cause 'nothing scares him' but oh boy was he wrong. You have to promise him extra cuddles because he's not gonna be able to fall asleep that night. Will also try to dissect the plot with you after the movie, and try to find meaning in the story just so it's less scary to him.
If he was never really invested into the horror genre, you could show him the classics like The Shining(1980), The Omen(1976), The Amityville Horror (1979), Psycho(1960) and then also some newer iconic movies like Get Out(2017), The Ring(2002), Sinister(2012), Hereditary(2018) and The Conjuring(2013).
Minho:
Loves it. Loves to try and scare you while you're watching a movie together. At first, you're so happy that you can share your love for horror with your significant other. And you know he really doesn't like jumpscares, so you try to find movies that don't have many of those. But if they do and Minho predicts a jumpscare, he'll grab you at the same time it's happening, making you jump out of your skin even though you saw the movie already. You kinda start regretting watching horror movies with him because he annoys you on purpose. He thinks you're so adorable when you're mad at him, but he wont push too far and he'll always make it up with cuddles and kisses later. Overall, 10/10 experience.
I feel like he'd watch almost any horror movie cause he's a curious cat (hehe) and you'd both share your favorites.
I don't know why, but I also feel like Minho would appreciate good old silent horror movies. I just think if he's a horror fan he may enjoy seeing the roots of horror. Like The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari(1920), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde(1920), The Phantom Carriage(1921), Nosferatu(1922) and Häxan(1922).
Changbin:
I don't think he's too scared of them but I think he doesn't really care for them too much? Though, if you have some interesting thriller or detective movies to recommend he will definitely wanna watch them with you. I think Changbin likes a movie that has an intelligent story with a plot twist. He likes to guess what's gonna happen next and when he's actually right he'll be so happy and proud. He'll keep talking about how he guessed the plot and how smart he is and how you have to give him extra cuddles now. Either way, you're cuddling and snacking the whole time while watching and it's just nice and cozy.
I think he'd enjoy thrillers like The Game(1997), Fracture(2007), The Machinist(2004), The Double(2013), Shutter Island(2010), Zodiac(2007) and 1408(2007).
Hyunjin:
Miss him with that shit cause he ain't watching it unless you manage to coax him into it. It's gonna take a lot of persuading until he finally gives in but you have to be careful in choosing the right movie for Hyunjin. He doesn't like loud noises and he doesn't really like to feel scared. He'd rather watch something for the story, especially if it's an emotional one, and he also likes character driven stories.
I think he could watch artsy or slow creepy movies that are more drama-like but have elements of horror like Pan's Labyrinth(2006), Dark Water(2005), Windchill(2007), It Follows(2014), The Eyes Of My Mother(2016), I'm Thinking Of Ending Things(2020) and Case 39(2009).
Jisung:
Okay, with this one you can go crazy. Any weird horror movie, anything kinda disturbing, deranged or unhinged will be right up his ally. As a horror and anime fan himself, he's seen some pretty weird stuff so experiment, I guess. I also feel like he'd like fun horror movies, idk how to explain but ones that are disturbing but fun at the same time, like you can't look away even though you're looking at a train wreck.
Movies like Funny Games(2007), The Ruins(2008), Suspiria(1977), The Perfection(2018), Perfect Blue(1997), May(2002), Audition(2000), Saw franchise and Terrifier series would be fun for him. Also, since he mentioned Paranormal Activity, found footage horror movies would be fun to watch with Jisung too like Creep(2014), REC(2007), Unfriended(2015) and Cloverfield(2008).
Felix:
This is just not happening unless you can bribe him with cookies, gummies or any other sweets and ofcourse many cuddles and kisses, even more than you share usually. You'll have to practically beg him to watch a horror movie with you or make some kind of compromise that you'll participate in some activity he likes more than you later. He's not gonna sleep all night if you make him watch anything too scary, actually he wouldn't even be watching that. He'd probably be hidden in your neck the whole time and even the creepy sounds coming from the tv will give him nightmares.
The only way to make him watch horror movies is if they're mixed with comedy or they're so bad that they're funny. Like the Scream franchise, The Cabin In The Woods(2011), What We Do In The Shadows(2014), The Happening(2008), Tucker & Dale vs. Evil(2010), Housebound(2014) and ofcourse zombie comedies like One Cut Of The Dead(2017) and Shaun Of The Dead(2004).
Seungmin:
Kind of indifferent towards the scares but I think he gets annoyed with plot holes and characters acting stupid. Rolls his eyes at every over used trope or cliche sentence. You actually end up laughing while watching horror movies with him because he's too cute when he's annoyed.
"How is this killer still alive? He's been run over by a truck ten times, this is stupid!" or "Okay but why is he going towards the sound? Is he that dumb, he's gonna die!"
He does like dry humor though so he'd like some black comedy movies with horror elements like American Psycho(2000), Parasite(2019), The Lobster(2015), The Menu(2022) but also if you want to annoy him on purpose (because he's cute when he gets worked up) show him slashers like the Halloween franchise, Friday the 13th franchise and Black Christmas(2019).
Jeongin:
With Jeongin, I feel like it can go either way and it definitely depends on the theme of the movie. Also, he will probably try to act brave in front of you (until he jumps at a loud sound and then gets embarassed). For some reason I don't have an exact subgenre of horror for him but for some reason I feel like he'd like newer horror movies like Us(2019), Nope(2022), Last Night In Soho(2021), His House(2020), Host(2020), The Invisible Man(2020) and Fear Street film series.

Boyfriend!Hobie Brown Heacanons - Hobie Brown x GN!reader
I am not normal about Hobie Brown and I don't plan on stopping
Before we begin!! I feel like Hobie would be really slow and hesitant on letting his partner know he's Spider-man (considering he wasn't willing to tell Miles).
So I imagine he'd try to juggle it with the band and all the political action he does. He just wants to keep you safe, but when it comes up he usually brushes off why he up and disappears sometimes. But if directly confronted, he's not gonna lie cause he feels like that's shitty. If asked why he's gone, he'd come out and say it, but try to soften the blow best he can.
(With that out of my system)
Okay first things first Hobie is the most SUPPORTIVE bf ever
No matter what he's always in your corner
Hobie believes in his partner a lot, and that means he'll always back you - even if he's the only person to have your back
And he knows you can handle your own, but if anyone has anything to say about it they can deal with him
(RIP to anyone who tries to talk down to you or insult you cause he finna roast they asses no filter)
He's an incredibly good listener. Like crazy good
Hobie's able to bring up things you don't even remember telling him, things said in passing that yoy may not think is important, but he still picks up on
Which is why he's really good to vent to. He may not have a lot of words of comfort, but is has a shoulder to cry on, and if you're angry, he's always there to validate that. Plus no matter what you're going through, he'll always encourage you to get through it, and keep your head up
Hobies also a low-key romantic (in his own way).
If you think Pavi is a great boyfriend then wait to you get with Hobie
If you're like most people, Hobie is most likely taller than you.
He's a lot touchier than you'd think, in his own way. Leaning on you, hanging off of you, arm over your shoulder, or crossing his legs over yours.
Hobie is a man of much slang and many nicknames (and part of the reason people playfully call Pav 'Big Steppa')
He'd call you nicknames more than your actual name - 'love',' 'darling', 'bird' the like, along with some few custom ones
Most of his date ideas involve breaking the law in some way and bashing the occassional facist together
Hobie is actually incredibly smart, both street wise and science wise, so I imagine he's pretty well read. I could see him really enjoying the some anarchist literature with his partner, and then discussing it with them
Protests are his favorite kind of date, followed by concerts, and picnics in abandoned buildings
(or, after he meets Miles, going out to graffiti)
he lets you wear his vest and even helps you make your own
He may not be as verbally affectionate or into PDA as Pavi is, but he still makes it clear that he trusts you and cares about what you have to say
He may not say 'I love you' in front of people, but he'll pull you onto his lap, or ask if you're okay, and give you slang-covered compliments all the time
Being Spider-man is actually a lot more stressful than Hobie lets on
And like most Spider-men, he looks to his other half as support, emotionally
being an international rockstar and anti-facist icon comes with big images, but when he and his partner are alone, he feels a lot more relaxed and a lot less pressured.
Hobie's been Spider-man for 3 years, meanwhile Pavi and Gwen are both in their first months of joining the spider-society. Because of that, he kinda feels responsible for them
He's been putting up with the Spider-Society's shit for years (hence why Miguel is so done with him)
There's definitely times he's come home to his dimension cursing and fuming
Any type of injustice or power inbalance really pisses him off, and sometimes if its really bad he can't stop thinking about it
Especially growing up in a totalitarian universe
He leans on his partner to remind him that there are still good people out there fighting for what's right
Hobie has already gone through most of his canon events, and he carries that with him, though he won't say it
From his reaction in atsv, he doesn't talk about it a lot, and tries is best to brush it off but sometimes, it just can't be ignored
his partner would probably be the only person he brings it up to and it just makes him more pissed with the spider-society
When he's relaxed though Hobie may be more quiet in private, strumming his guitar as his listens to you, or kicking back while the two of you shoot the shit
Pavi's energy hypes him up a lot though, so you two hit up Mumbattan a lot
Or he loves bringing his partner to band practice and mic checks. And he always calls them out in the crowd if he's on the mic
Last sweet stuff okay
If he's gone he'll give his partner one of his bracelets. He'll just be like 'oi, hold this.' then leave chill as hell
Gwen, Pavi, and Miles are all really supportive of you two, even if they have a thousand questions in the beginning (all of which he dodges or plays off)
He's not one to get jealous at all. But he will join a conversation and casually mention the rockstar-model thing. Just to assert dominance. A subtle flex
He keeps asking you to give him a stick & poke somewhere because he thinks it's a cute idea
He likes doing that thing where he sits behind you while he teaches you guitar
He loves having you sleep over, and you can crash in his dimension any time
Especially after he meets Gwen. His fave thing to do is to just play while he listens to the two of you talk for hours
Hobie is a really heavy sleeper but somehow gets up exactly when he needs to be or right before shit starts going down - otherwise he sleeps till 1pm everyday
If theres anything Hobie is, its loyal and supportive, and he wants nothing more than for you to be safe, and free, and happy
(even if most of his advice is throwing a brick at someone)
He is always pushing you to do better, to speak up for yourself or trust yourself because he knows how much you're capable of
And finally he knows your favorite song by heart to the point that if hes zoning out or missing you, he'll strum it on the guitar without even realizing
(okay bye lemme know what you thought thanks for reading loves also I am not okay i am obsessed with him )

Hii, I've read your Percy Jackson cabins headcanons and I loved them! They're are soo good! Could you please write for the Aphrodite cabin?
⇢ ˗ˏˋ aphrodite cabin headcanons ࿐ྂ
a/n: so it's been a while since i've posted some cabin headcanons, and i LOVE aphrodite kids, and i've gotten a bunch of requests for aphrodite cabin hcs 😭 i'm sorry it took this long, i'm getting back into the cabin hcs but i'm focusing on fics rn, but yeah! i hope you all enjoy this, and thank you to everyone who requested aphrodite cabin! taglist: @asvterias @lvrue @thewritingbarbie @kroumi @ravisinghs-wife
so aphrodite kids are generally pretty cool
they're naturally very outgoing and caring people, who love big and hard and are wonderful people to have in your life
but they can also be a bit of a handful
they tend to have very big and dramatic emotions, and they cry at a lot of things
every aphrodite kid had the experience of being labeled a crybaby when they were younger
they come by their emotional-ness naturally
aphrodite kids are naturally very flirty as well
like they're the kind of people that flirt with their friends no matter what
which you would think would make it difficult to tell when they actually have a crush on somebody, but it doesn't for some reason, you can just kinda tell
aphrodite kids are not shy when they like someone
aphrodite kids are the type of people who as soon as they come to the conclusion that they have a crush on someone they just flat out tell them
obviously this doesn't happen every time because there are some aphrodite kids that are more shy, but for the most part, that's just the type of person they are
so not every aphrodite kid has the ability to charmspeak, but they all have a better skill at convincing people to do things for them
like it’s not charmspeak but they are naturally more charming/convincing
obviously kids who get the charmspeak gene are much more convincing than other aphrodite kids but you know what i mean
weird little quirk about aphrodite kids, they love sugar cookies
they could not tell you why, they just really love them for like, no reason
aphrodite kids are also huge matchmakers
like HUUUUGE
do not tell an aphrodite kid who you have a crush on if you don't want them to start trying to set you up with that person
although, if they do it's a good sign, because aphrodite kids really try not to matchmake a person with someone they don't like, because they think that's really mean on both parts
aphrodite kids were the kids that were dating in elementary and middle school
and saying "i love you" two days in, let's be totally honest
they also were totally wearing makeup at like 10
not that that's necessarily a bad thing, other demigods probably wore makeup at 10, aphrodite kids are just so much more likely
although it's a common misconception that aphrodite kids always wake up at 5 in the morning to put on an elaborate glam makeup look for everyday wear
that is not true
well, in some cases it is, but it's much more common for aphrodite kids to just wear casual, feature-enhancing makeup for everyday
don't get me wrong, when there's an occasion, they JUMP at the opportunity to go full glam
aphrodite kids also do other demigods' makeup when they need it
also, if you ever need a personal stylist, go to the aphrodite cabin beacuse they LOVE it when people need fashion advice
they often give it anyway, so it's extra nice when people don't yell at them for telling them how to style their orange camp t-shirts
yes, the camp half-blood orange shirts are iconic, but there are definitely aphrodite kids that have wanted to change the color to something a bit less... harsh, as it's hard to style something so bright
aphrodite kids LOVE making friendship bracelets
you know, the ones with embroidery floss that you tie knots to make, and you like tape it/tie it to your water bottle
aphrodite kids make those all day every day
they have a little plastic drawer thing that has just SO MUCH embroidery floss in it, all the colors you can imagine, complete with a few printed out templates that they sometimes use to make some fun ones
they give these out to literally everyone
they make sure that everyone in camp has at least one friendship bracelet made by them
they also like to teach kids from other cabins how to make them, and whenever an aphrodite kid gets a bracelet made by someone other than an aphrodite kid, they get so happy
their hearts just warm so quickly
it's adorable to see because their whole face lights up, and then they hug you, and it's so cute
they've even given a couple to chiron and mr. d, and they actually wear them
chiron doesn't wear them as often, because he likes looking formal sometimes
but mr. d wears them all the times
it's so funny, because mr. d claims that the campers are the bane of his existence, they're so annoying, but if an aphrodite kid hands him a friendship bracelet, he looks at it for a second, nods his head, and then slips it on his wrist to add to his collection
the collection is getting a little bit too big for his one hand, so he's started putting them on his other wrist
everytime this happens, the aphrodite kid that gave him the bracelet makes fun of him for being a softie, but he just rolls his eyes and goes back to sipping his coke while watching the lake
aphrodite kids are also super touchy
they honestly have all the love languages, but their big one is physical affection
they LOVE hugs
they LOVE holding hands
they LOVE kissing
obviously the kissing is only in a romantic aspect, but you get it
if you're friends with an aphrodite kid, they're going to hug you all the freaking time
they just love showing their love for you by squeezing the air out of you!
aphrodite kids will hold hands with you platonically as well
obviously, if this makes you uncomfortable and you don't want to hold hands and/or hug, they'll respect that, but they kinda won't think to ask you if that makes sense
they'll never be like "are you okay if i hug you?"
but if you ever tell them politely that you don't want to be hugged, they won't hug you anymore
aphrodite kids are also crazy passionate
about literally everything
when they have a passion for something, they have a passion for it
like, they will dedicate their whole heart and soul to something because they love it
they just have a lot of love in their hearts that needs to go somewhere
another random thing: aphrodite children were born to be fangirls
(and boys but you know)
they all have a celebrity crush that they are obsessed with and will like dedicate their life to watching edits of
(if i was a child of aphrodite, it would be dior goodjohn)
(what am i talking about it already is)
they also have a love for art
like specifically art from the renaissance period, they LOVE that
they just can appreciate a really beautiful piece of artwork, because they see beauty in everything
there's a common misconception that aphrodite kids are mean and stuck up, and there definitely are mean and stuck up kids, but there's mean and stuck up kids from every cabin.
aphrodite kids are honestly some of the nicest and kindest and most loving people you'll ever come across
they do have a tendency to throw temper tantrums every once in a while, but not in the way that like a toddler throws a temper tantrum
like i said, they just have a lot of big emotions, and they don't always know what to do with them
aphrodite kids are also often overlooked in a battle sense
everyone thinks that just because they care about their appearance, they won't be good soldiers, but that is 100% NOT TRUE
aphrodite kids are amazing at fighting and battle, maybe not as good as others, but they are good and can hold their own
don't underestimate them, though, because if you do, they make it their mission to prove you wrong
also, when aphrodite kids set their mind to something, they make it happen
so if someone makes a comment about them not knowing how to use a sword... let's just say they'll show you they do
all in all, aphrodite kids are super fun to be around, and they're the kind of friend that you can depend on no matter what, so it's always good to have an aphrodite kid in your corner

So, here is my take on Ash's relationships with his traveling companions.
Misty: I don't ship them, but I do think that they have a really strong bond!! I actually headcanon that Ash didn't really enjoy Misty's company untill they parted ways, and that's when he started to miss her. It could go the other way around too. Unfortunately, this relationship is faltered by the fact that Misty and Ash clearly didn't like each other in the beginning and said some pretty nasty things to each other. To end on a positive note, pokeshipping is not my favorite, but I think Ash and Misty will always have a strong relationship with each other!!
Brock: I think Brock and Ash have a pretty good relationship, kinda like Brotp except for the fact that I don't ship them romantically. I think Brock was necessary for Ash's growth and I think Ash's company softened Brock up, he became nicer in other words. They are close friends and nothing more or less. Brock is an excellent older brother figure to Ash and he has been with Ash the longest out of his traveling companions so that also earns their relationship points.
Tracey: Yeah, this might be controversial but I think Tracey was the third wheel in Orange Islands. He practically invited himself into the group and Ash and Misty could both be pretty rude to him at times. Tracey and Ash are friends no doubt, but I wouldn't say that they are super close or anything.
May: So I think May and Ash helped each other out a lot but I don't think Ash is the closest to May because if I remember correctly, he was rude to her a lot of the time, they also don't have much in common, Ash is into battling and May likes shopping and contests. So yeah, I obviously don't ship them, Contestshipping is clearly superior!! I think Ash and May are good friends, especially after Ash mellowed out, but I think Ash has a closer connection with some of his other companions.
Max: I am not going to say that these two have a super strong bond or anything but I do think they bonded somewhat over the fact that they aren't into the the girly things that May is lol. Also, Max is a few years younger than Ash so the age gap kinda prevents a close bond from happening. Still, I think Ash and Max are friends regardless and always will be.
Dawn: She and Ash are besties!! There, I said it. I don't ship them since I'm more of a Dawn x Zoey person but I love these two as friends. Who could forget their iconic high-five and these two serve as great protagonists for DP. I love how much these two work off one another, they give sibling energy for real.
Iris: Speaking of sibling energy, Iris is like the twin sister Ash never had!! Iris is also the only female traveling companion that I ship Ash with romantically. I will argue that Iris is one of Ash's closest friends. They also work so well because they are exactly alike in terms of personality. They are both hyper, stubborn, love food, and care for their friends and pokemon deeply. And who could forget that one episode where they went sightseeing in Nimbasa city together. I love the duo of Ash and Iris and I wish people would stop undermining their relationship.
Cilan: So, Cilan tended to act like a father figure to both Ash and Iris. Sometimes, I tend to get the impression that Cilan was like the "Tracey" of the BW Trio, However to a MUCH lesser extent. Since Cilan at least had a lot of nice and heartwarming moments with Ash and Iris both individually and together. It's pretty obvious how much Cilan cares for Ash and Iris since he is always super sweet and patient with them. Ash along with Iris looks up to him for advice and guidance and he also admires Cilan's cooking. The only thing holding Ash and Cilan back from being super close is that Ash and Iris seem closer to each other, both in age and personality. Regardless, Cilan and Ash are still good friends and I think they always will be.
Clemont: If there was a male companion that I would ship Ash with romantically, it would have to be Clemont. Diodeshipping for life!! Ash and Clemont have been spotted touching each other several times, like putting their arms around each other while walking. It's also no surprise that Ash admires Clemonts inventions and Gadgets more than anyone else hence "Science is so amazing!!" Clemont and Ash also have never argued, at least to my knowledge. To conclude, I think Clemont is the closest to Ash out of the male traveling companions, Probably tied with Goh.
Bonnie: Unfortunately unlike her brother, I think Ash and Bonnie have the least amount of connection out of his traveling companions. (Besides maybe Chloe, but I don't count her as a companion and I haven't seen JN) I say this because I don't remember any significant interactions between Ash and Bonnie. But on the bright side, it's not like Bonnie and Ash truly need each other since Bonnie has both her older brother and Serena (who she has a much stronger bond with) to look out for her.
Serena: Alright.... These two are friends and nothing more. Yes, Serena has a crush on Ash, but Ash clearly doesn't feel the same way about her. If these two ever got together, their relationship would probably only last a few years max since they both have entirely separate interests and goals. I would even go and say that Serena and Ash have the least amount in common out of the traveling companions. Ash and Serena did help each other out a lot, but I think at most, they are good friends. Sorry Amourshippers.
So I am not fully done with my binge watch of Sun and Moon, but when I am done, I will make a separate post like this for the SuMo companions.

D&D Cartoon Characters As MTG Cards
Was it the D&DBeyond free adventure where the carton kids were the pregens? to coincide with the new Players Handbook? Was it a Brazillian car commercial that stirred a long dormant foreign fandom? Was it my friend @bubblytarts slowly being dragged into Magic the Gathering kicking and screaming? In any case. I decided to try and think what legendary creatures from throughout Magic The Gathering you could Secret Lair style reskin for the kids from the Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon! All of them are going to be legendary creatures who can pilot their own deck. Join me!
Starting with Sheila!
Sheila the party rogue could of course turn invisible via her cloak. So Etrata, Deadly Fugitive working with cloak to turn creatures face down while also caring about assassins (a rogue subclass) was peak. It had to be done!
Next is Presto!
Presto having the random item hat could have been Delina Wild Mage, but consider. Using Averna to build a cascading shell into wild cards and having Delina in the 99. Also pair with Flamekin Herald (who you could make Varla from the one episode) and give the commander cascade!
Next is Bobby!
For Bobby the Barbarian my thought was Maarika (who yes I know was first Zangief but shhh). The fact excess damage is turned into breaking stuff feels perfect for the club he gets and you can put the Secret Lair Crash Through for Uni in the deck to get double duty of the excess.
Next is Diana!
Diana I wanted to make a monk proper because like. Yes her title is acrobat but... ya know. And that led me to Prowess and Narset, Enlightened Exile! You can make the exile aspect into being on another world, but honestly I think any prowess commander can do here!
Next is Eric!
For Eric. I admittedly struggled a bit, BUT I ran into Jared Carthalion, True Heir. The Monarch mechanic feels right for an Eric card to play into. Several episodes of the show temporarily tempt Eric with or properly give him power and authority over the others, like the time he became Dungeon Master for a day. And the ever changing head of the monarch works very well for that. Added to the fact that while you are the monarch nothing hits you is perfect for the shield!
Next is Hank!
For Hank I was gonna do the ranger aesthetic, but more than class, Hank is "team leader boy." SO I went with Tazri, Beacon of Unity. Cuz a 5 color commander that can bring out the party is perfect, caring about the card types that mirror the titles they were given, and also it cares about the party mechanic and gathering the gang and their allies. Something well within the purview of a good team leader!
Finally Venger!
For Venger affinity for artifacts is the funniest mechanic to give the bbeg who spent the whole ass show chasing after 6 or so magic items. The fact that Rakdos also lets you bring in Beholders, Goblinoids, Slaad, Giants and other classic D&D Monsters from both the Adventures in the Forgotten Realms and Battle for Baldur's Gate. Things like Asmodeus, Acererak, and even more villainous icons of the Realm along with powerful artifacts!
And that my friends are my picks! I hope you enjoyed them..............
Psych! Doing one more for Niko!
Niko is from Stormwreck Isle and then the adventure of Uni and the Hunt for the Lost Horn. Designed mostly to ensure there was a healer class for mechanic reasons all we have about Niko is a throw away line about being "new to the D&D multiverse". so how do I use that?..
SIMPLE. So I hear "New to the multiverse" and I think "Flip Walker" showing a newly sparked planeswalker! So. Looking through the existing Flip Walkers I settled on Tamiyo! Focusing less on dealing damage and more about protecting other planeswalkers and gaining informational advantage seems like the kind of thing someone new to the multiverse would focus on. Plus caring about spells when they flip into a planeswalker adds to them being a caster class. It's kind of a stretch but hey. I had so very little to work with.
And with that. For real. I am finally done!
These are only my takes though. What would you set these characters as as commander cards, is there one of them you wanna build? What would you put in their deck? Let me know! If I do end up brewing any of these I will post decklists via Moxfield! :D

character ask um sona thouughffs perhappps 😁do soba. Sona :)
Greets Gekko!! and of course, im always happy to talk about my cancelled aunt, she is my pfp after all
Favorite thing about them
Oooh this one is hard... "Favorite" is a little too wide of a definition for this, so ill narrow it down to what hits the hardest for me, and that is most definitely, the "flawed mother" angle they were going for her.
Sona isnt perfect, as much as she wants to claim otherwise, she believes in ideologies that actively put Frisks friends in danger time and time again, and as shown, is even willing to act on them in the imperfect routes, but they still love and see the good in her, because thats what theyve grown up with their whole life, and for someone who has a mom in a pretty similar situation, that hit so fucking hard for me.
Sona... they could never make me hate you Sona...
Least favorite thing about them
I dont really understand the hair motif they were going for, it feels unnecessary, out of place, and compared to all the other powers she could have had in the concept art (Doll powers, omega form, ect) just feels... idk, boring to me? i just feel there was so much more potential for her.
Favorite line
"If you dont have determination, you have to fake it!" lives rent free in my mind. its the perfect way to show off one of her main ideologies, In Sonas mind, theres just simply no thing called weakness or imperfections, and anything that is lacking can be fixed right up like a doll, who cares if itll never be as genuine as the flawed and complex human being that they used to be?
Theres also the iconic "I only take the souls of children if they disobey me!" line, which i like for a lot less complex reasons. just, out of context funny lmao.
BrOTP
The possible relationships she can have with Dalv, and her relations to integrity are both very intriguing to me.
Like, for Dalv theres this whole thing with them that they are both flawed individuals who ran away from their problems in the past, but ended up with completely different outcomes (Dalv was ripped away from society, while Sona actively got herself involved in it) but also like?? for something fluffier, i like to imagine that Dalv is good with kids, and the idea of him running an orphanage with Sona is really cute to me.
And integrity... oughh, its seen both in the no romance endings and the perfect sans route of kc that Sona really cared for integrity (their ending having the most lore, only second to Justice because...well, uty reference, her giving them flowers in that one cg), So the idea of her in a uty scenario (cough cough kcy cough cough) finding out about what they did and their fate is a REALLY interesting angle to consider for me. so many thoughts, oh so many of them.
And then last but certainly not least, theres her and Chara which i feel like i dont talk about NEARLY enough but since this section is getting long, ill just end this off on that kc shouldve had more Sona and Chara interactions.
OTP
... Its Sonaroba, is anyone surprised.
Theyre so interesting and mentally ill and evil i need to put them in a snowglobe and shake them as hard as i can. Like, you have two woman who were both wronged by the world in some capacity, and when proven wrong, are so tunnel visioned that they basically just beg for death. only that one is past that arc and has learned to grow, while the other, despite having the chance time and time again, hasnt. They're two sides of the same coin, they're two different outcomes of the same person they're they're they're-
My incoherent ramblings aside, i also really enjoy Sonanny, they're the doomed old woman yuri ever and i refuse to take any criticism /j like, theres a reason Nanny is the only adult not controlled by Sona right? IM GOING INSANE-
nOTP
... Im actually at a loss for what to put here lol. I mean, i guess theres Sona and Sans, but its just so stupidly evil and toxic that i kinda just, thrive in it now
I guess her and Starlo?? but theyre not compatible anyway so i dont really get why people would even ship it to begin with.
Random headcanon
The hat she has in the concept art right?? i imagine she actually still has that hat somewhere, and wears it on special occasions like anniversaries and birthdays. its just so cute i cant help myself rahhh-
Unpopular opinion
Im actually not that familiar with what the major idea around Sona is since i only really hang out in niche spaces, maybe i should hang around Andrews community more-
But since "Sona isnt just some random racist mom and her character goes so much deeper than that" isn't really a fun answer, im gonna say that i think we (and by we i mean like, the twelve people in the kissy cutie community) Really dont explore her Mexican origins enough. theres so many fun things you can do with it like the original game does-
Song i associate with them
The main two songs i associate with her are Suburbia by Will wood and the tape worms, and ruler of everything by tally hall.
Suburbia in particular feels like her trying to fit herself and eveyone into a "generic" standard, and the ar-15 part in particular feels like Chara speaking to her like "cultures not your friend" and "Culture is more afraid of you then you are of itself", making it a duet between the Siblings?? ouggh can you see the vision.
And ruler of everything... oh ruler of everything my beloved, everything about it fits Sona so well for me, especially the chorus?? Ayaygdgyduhhuh
I actually was story boarding a ruler of everything Sona animatic, i lost interest since school started, so heres the rough beatboards
Favorite picture of them
The little full body Xan cut out lives in my mind rent free, like look at her guys shes so full of bliss and whimsy
Thanks for the ask!! sorry this got a little long lol, i am a yapper at heart

Another Viewing, Another Round of Furiosa Thoughts…!
Even as a child, she turns men’s appetites against them. When she realizes Rictus’ interest in her, she cuts her hair and makes her makeshift wig as both a means of self-defense and an escape plan out of the wives’ vault. And because men are greedy and predictable, it works. In a film any less committed to portraying its heroine as someone with agency - someone who *acts* rather than *be acted on* - the following scene could have been utterly distasteful. But instead of suffering physical harm or degradation for the viewer’s perverse, objectifying pleasure - she turns her status as a subject of male sexual attention into a tool to cut her own freedom. Not only does she escape from Rictus, but she turns his attempted exploitation back onto him and twists it to her own benefit. She exploits him and his attention for her own benefit. She controls how the scene plays out, rendering him the helpless one.
Struck anew by how Anya is repeatedly shot from below during the final confrontation with Dementus. We’re seeing her through Dementus’ eyes, sure, but there’s more going on here. Especially towards the end of the scene (“I’m nothing like you.”), the camera angle really emphasizes her long, slender neck. Even after shaving off her hair, after casting aside traditional signs of femininity, the camera lingers over and powerfully glorifies all that is innately “feminine” about her. Dementus asks his iconic; “Do you have it in you to make it epic?” And she lifts her head high like a lioness, as all that is “feminine” becomes indistinguishable from her ruthlessness.
Doubling down on the theory that she’s talking to Jack (or Jack’s memory, at least) in the voice over in the very last scene. (😭) “This is our first fruit, but it’s not for you and me.” This after Jack became the very first person with whom she shared the secret of her seed, with whom it became *their* secret. This after she planted the seed in Dementus, in the very same spot where she showed Jack her truth - where *her* seed became *theirs*, from the moment he folded her fingers back around the seed and silently swore to help her protect it. “This is our first fruit,” she says, keeping his memory alive to witness it.
To end on a happier note: I LOVE how the war boys call Jack “Prae Jack.” :’) They clearly respect him as their commander when they’re on a run, but there’s also some degree of comaraderie and care there that no one else with authority seems to show them. I’m obsessed with every detail of the scene where Jack has them load up the V8. (“What about me?” “You’re promoted, rear defense.” “On the war rig?!” “Of course.”) He treats them as real people and indulges their excitement when he can. “Want to see what this thing can do?” he asks the war boy driving the rig, fully letting him savor and enjoy this moment of joy to the fullest. He’s such a good, caring leader, it’s no wonder the war boys gave him a nickname and see him as one of them! :’)

Hi MeowMeow Costume anon here sorry it’s taken a couple days for me to reply life got busy finding one’s honour is harder then I thought!
You want my autistic head canons for Zuko? Strap in for some unhinged rambling because I have ✨thoughts✨ this will be long
(CW: implied child abuse (Fuck Ozai))
Zuko likes music (Iroh mentiones he’s talented with the Tsungi horn) and his swords I also think he would have picked up dancing at some point with how he moved during dance of the dragons.
When he’s around people he trusts he emotes more with his face and masks less in general and I’d say if he felt safe enough he’d do more overt (for him) stimms like humming, minor rocking or tugging on his hair Iroh would be one of his safe people and eventually the gaang would be too
*I don’t think he’d have very obvious stimms in general being raised royal he’d be expected to act a certain way and hand flaps are not it. Also flaming 💩lord Ozai would have seen any aberrations as weakness and stamped that shit out fast
*I honestly think it could be one of the reasons the flaming 💩lord despises Zuko being inherently different would be a weakness in his eyes and reflect badly on him
I think he and May get along well because they’re both autistic and are a safe space for each other. she has trouble processing her emotions he has trouble controlling his they make good emotional counter balances
He cares so much about the people and animals around him even his enemies a strong sense of justice is a common sign of autism and speaking out of turn was the initial reason for his banishment.
He’s so socially awkward he doesn’t know how to talk with people instead of at them his entire pep talk to himself and subsequent introduction to the gaang when he tries to join them is peak “how do you do fellow kids” and his “that’s rough buddy” is as iconic as it is socially inept.
The guy totally hyper fixated on hunting the Avatar and when he could no longer find his purpose in it and realised he was wrong he did not cope
He has no tackt. none. and he takes things at face value and he hates lying his humour is also a little left leaning and he tries to relate to others and their experiences as a way of bonding.
While he’s not a prodigy fire bender like his sister he found ways around his limitations that helped accentuate his natural talents like his sword fighting (dancing would help with sword work) being incorporated into his bending (I don’t remember any other character bending with weapons).
He’d know a lot about tea from Iroh and I think he enjoyed working in the tea shop
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk!
I hope these make sense it’s kinda late now but this was fun to write thanks for reading my insane rambles :D
Also in response to the (non gendered) Prince! line you gave me so much surprise gender euphoria I cried 😭🫠🥹 sincerely thank you. I’m going with he/him pronouns atm but he/they is something I want to look into.
if you don’t mind me asking what are your pronouns?
I’ll probably send another ask in the next couple of days to annoy you with lol but in the meantime have a great day!
Sorry I took so long to get back to this, but damn I needed it today so I guess it's good I kept this in reserve. ❤
Holy shit, I can't unsee Zuko as autistic now. Like it's impossible. He's so perfectly coded to be on the spectrum. He's generally monotone, until he's not, and that's always when he's dealing with big emotions. He'd be a lip biter for sure.
Zuko doing dance as a stim 😍 the first time the Gaang sees him dancing when he thinks he's alone, they'd be so supportive, and have no idea what that would mean to him.
Fire lord Zuko infodumping about tea to some random person who tried to ask if he'd like them to make him some, as he heats the tea himself with his bending, and damn if that isn't the best tea that servant has ever had in their life.
Until next time my non gendered Prince Zuko! (Which will be in like, a few minutes, when I get to your other ask. Again sorry for the wait 😭 I'm bad at this)

yall no im on team fuck wotc so i wanna plug a ttrpg ive played that is decently similar to dnd and id recommend as a cool one to check out if looking for a new system!
13TH AGE
13th age is a ttrpg system built for a high fantasy setting similar to d&d. its got a lot of similarities to dnd (in fact i believe many of the folks who worked on it worked on older editions of dnd) like a d20 based, class based system, but with a lot of streamlining done to combat as well as fun mechanics to tie your character into the world and game.
some specific details i really enjoyed:
one unique thing: something i enjoy about this that lends itself to character creation well is that every character has ‘one unique thing.’ most of your characters probably already have that, but this is a one or two word sentence that just summarizes that. this is great for both players who get too complicated in their backstories and helps them have a core unique thing (me cough) or characters who don’t super care about backstories come up with something unique even if its not a full shakespearean tragedy of a background
backgrounds: instead of your backgrounds giving you proficiency in certain things, characters have backgrounds with certain modifiers based on the importance to the character. this then lets you use the modifier for things that relate to your background. for example, my character spent years as a thief before the campaign, so she cat burglar +4. any time i picked a lock or did sneaky thief things, i could use my thief +4. another character had a background as librarian, so she got bonuses to speed reading, finding a book in complicated libraries, etc. iirc this character also had a background as a spoken word poet which. while less widely applicable. led to some fun shenanigans with charisma checks for a character who isn’t usually super persuasive. i will note some GMs don’t love this because some players will try to use these backgrounds too broadly and it can slow stuff down since its less spelled out, so be warned, but if you have a good group, its a lot of fun.
no grid based combat: this was the main reason my GM looked into 13th age. she hated grid combat, and in 13th age, rather than specific measurements and distances for spells and moves, everything is either engaged, nearby, or far. i will say there was a bit of a learning curve for the players in this group who were used to having exact distances spelled out, but honestly it was really fun not having to worry so much about exact distances and counting out squares and such.
escalation die: this was something i loved as someone who had a hard time focusing on longer combats. 13th age uses an escalation system to speed up combat - at the end of every round of combat, the escalation die gets a +1 that keeps increasing every round and adds to your attack rolls and damage. this represents the natural tire and fatigue in combat and keeps things moving. after six rounds have passed, it maxes out at +6
there are some other cool things as well such as icons that represent powerful figures in the world, unique abilities and skills that have a similar feel of d&d but fresh and new if youve played d&d to death, but TLDR: check out 13th age if you want a system that feels similar to D&D, but hate grid based and super long combats and want more mechanical weight to your characters history. also its been a few years since ive played so. apologies if i misremembered anything but! 13th age is super fun especially if you want something that feels similar to d&d but with some cool unique features
#this has been a draft for so long bc i was gonna do a post w multiple games similar to jd's post i reblogged#but i keep forgetting and also this is long enough to be its own post so i present to you. 13th age.#as someone who played it for a few years two or three years ago#ttrpgs

🔥 Tim Burton (him as a person or his aesthetic, your choice!)
"Beetlejuice" (1988) reminds me a lot of another film I watched recently; "Tombstone" (1993). Sold by an aesthetic and a FANTASTIC performance from a side character, audiences were conned into loving a mediocre film. I'm not Lindsey Ellis, so don't expect me to talk about the cartoon.
"Batman" (1989) and its sequel is proof that Burton will not be giving up his aesthetic for God or money. Gotham is heavily disconnected from both the film and its source material, with little reason other than its director. There's a reason no one calls these "Keaton's Batmans," they call them "Burton's Batmans." Jack Nicholson is great as The Joker, but that's no hot take. The hot take is that Devito is too horny as The Penguin, and it makes me uncomfortable for a film that's already so sexual.
"Edward Scissorhands" (1990) is a bitter, bitter film where artist finally meets muse. Not, like, in the plot, but in the production. Depp and Burton were made for eachother... or at least that's what I'm supposed to think. This movie's just too messy, however, and can't decide where its focal point lies and leaves me wishing I had just watched "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000) instead.
"Sleepy Hollow" (1999) leaves me, a fan of the original text, I know that's probably a weird thing to say, miffed, even if understanding. Outside of some pacing issues, it's a bold reimagining that feels like Burton attempting to get out of his comfort zone... but I just didn't need this story to be turned into an homage to B-horror. Go watch that Disney short, eh?
"Big Fish" (2003) is his best film. I am hardly qualified to speak on it, and even if I did, I would cry. So, you know, just go watch that shit.
"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (2005) is destined to be compared to "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" (1971), and why wouldn't it? In thirty-four years since the making of the original, not a single person worth listening to said "i need this done right," including Burton himself, which is why he tries to add so much, but no amount of additions changes the fact that he casted his muse instead of someone who could, you know, act like Wonka? So, you know, destined for failure and to be loved by everyone who won't watch movies made before 1987.
"Corpse Bride" (2005) is one of only two claymation films that Burton would actually direct, and he uses this time to steal a Jewish story and make it less Jewish. I don't like the ending or the songs and it feels like it could be cut in half and achieve the same effect.
"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007) literally doesn't have the iconic opening number from the stage play??? Overall, there's rarely a pairing of source material and director that works as well as this one... If only I enjoyed the source material, eh? So dark, so bitter, so edgy, so... nothing. I never think about this movie. When I do, I think of Mrs. Lovett's dream sequence and remember the good old days of "Big Fish" (2003) when Burton liked to use color.
"Alice in Wonderland" (2010) is one of my guiltiest pleasures in all of film. It is the reason why every time Disney announces a live-action remake, my ears perk up. If all of them were as wild, unhinged, original, creative, and inspired as this one... Well, I think Disney might not be fucking bleeding money right now. No one ever even mentions that it's a sequel to the original animated film. A SEQUEL, not a remake. Sometime movie-goers surprise me with how little they think.
"Frankenweenie" (2012) blows. I don't care how unique it is, I do not like it.
"Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" (2016) is one of the funniest remnants of the teen dystopia genre. Like, it hardly applies, but is trying SO HARD that it's unbelievable. Also, props to Mr. "Black People Aren't My Aesthetic" for casting Samuel L. Jackson as a dude who eats white babies. (I do not mean that.) Seriously, this is proof that Burton, as a modern director, should no longer be taken seriously.
"Dumbo" (2019) is AAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHA I FUCKING HATE THIS DUDE HOLY SHIT
If I didn't mention, I haven't seen it. Yes, I know I skipped some big ones. I may watch them one day, but I am in no rush.

Ranking the Sparrows
7. Christopher the box
I literally don't know what to say...
6. Jayme
First of all I want to say that the actress is really really stunning. Like I can't look away from her every time she's on screen, she's so pretty!
At the same time whenever she's on screen she's doing or saying something rude and I hate her comment on Five and Diego.
5. Alphonso
He's funny, I'll give him that. And he's such a mood too (eating popcorn while watching her sister beat someone up). But other than that there's not much to him.
4. Ben
God he's such an asshole I want him to be last but I don't think it's fair since technically I care less about Jayme and Alphonso and that box. But god I want to punch his throat every time he opens his mouth. The only reason he's this high is because he's funny sometimes and he's so pathetic at that bachelor scene I actually want to hug him. I'm not asking him to be Umbrella Ben, but can he tone down the assholess-ness for a second, jeez.
3. Sloane
Sloane is actually nice and sweet and her power is really cool. The only negative thing I have to say to her isn't actually a negative thing but I hate that she's so... Understanding and peaceful sometimes (urging Luther to make peace with Reggie and her vibe). Again, this is just a personal preference which is kind of ironic bc I just complained that Ben is an asshole earlier lmao.
I think she just rubbed me off slightly wrong because she's treated as a love interest for Luther and doesn't actually go beyond that and I hate that because I would enjoy her more if they make the romance less rushy and instant (I think it's cute that she was fascinated by Luther's moon story but for someone who could be as smart as Five, I didn't expect her to agree to marry Luther immediately. Tbf it was the end of the word but still it's my preference on the circumstances).
2. Marcus
There are only 2 brain cells in the Sparrow Academy and one of them belongs to Marcus. I think he's cool and has so much potential bc I do think he's a good leader and also rational. He tried to negotiate and listen to both sides. He let Viktor run instead of capturing him in the Academy. I'm not saying he's a saint and he definitely has his own motives and stuff but just saying if he was still alive, the whole Sparrow vs Umbrella wouldn't go as long as it did. I truly think he deserves his no. 1 titles.
1. Fei
Fei Hargreeves slayed so hard, I'm sorry. She's a fashion icon since the Handler and her personality is so engaging and enjoyable. She has the other braincell and she's evil and I love it. It looked good on her. None of the Sparrow are actually fleshed out well but I love the potential of Fei and she's entertaining to watch.

This is for the polls in my previous posts. The results are ....
Guido Mista + Overstimulation + Praise
Now enjoy ruining our favorite musty man
It didn't take long for you and Mista to get off track from the mission. To be fair, the two of you were doing the mission just not in the way Bucciarati would approve of. The task, Mista and yourself were to act like a famous drug dealer couple in a hotel room. As that happens, traitors of the Familia would show up just in time for the rest of the gang to swoop in and take them out. But it was poor thinking on Bucciarati's part putting the only open couple in a vacant hotel room.
The two of you didn't even last 20 minutes before your clothes were ripped from your bodies and your mouths attacked each other in a passionate battle for dominance. Still in his iconic hat, Mista laid at the edge of the bed indulging in your touch. "Y/N! Gotta cum again! We- we can't stop at four~" Trembling from his last release, your boyfriend huffed from his swollen lips.
All you can do is chuckle at the sad state of his body as you resumed your movements. Your eyes traced his bare chest that was littered with hickeys and bruises. As you sat next to him, your fingers jabbed in and out of his hole, you place a trail of soft kisses across his body. "I know it hurts, Guido. Just give me one more and we can stop, okay?" You cooed from next him. His hands that were usually around his pistol gripped soft maroon sheets that laid under him. "You're doing so well, sweetheart~" Your voice echoed in his mostly empty head.
His hips thrashed against your fingers, wanting more friction but also stuttering from overstimulation. "Y/N! Mista! You've gone quiet. Are the two of you alright?" A voice from your walkie-talkie stops you both with wide eyes. Of course, Bucciarati would check in right when you beloved was close to another orgasm. Rather than sulking, you smile softly at your naked lover before continuing to plunge your fingers in him while reaching for the walkie-talkie attached to your hip. "Y/N what are you-" "We're ok! Just settling in. Gotta make sure we have an escape route in case things go south."
Your voice was calm compared to the man next to you. Mista's tan hands covered him mouth to keep himself quiet as you brought him closer to a release. Dark eyes became unfocused, slowly rolling into the back of his skull as you angled your fingers upward. "And Mista? Where is he?" Laughing at you own lie, you spoke in your usual collected voice. "He's in the bathroom right now. I think Sex Pistols are having a pool party in the sink so it may be a while." Just as you finished your sentence, Mista started convulsing under you, cumming onto his chest. A sigh came from the other side of the device. "Just stay vigilant."
The radio connection ended, allowing you to sigh in relief. "You did such a good job, Guido. It's too bad we have to work. Remind me to give you a reward when we get done, okay love?" A shivering Mista reaches up to pull you closer with a drowsy smile on his face. "Bucciarati's gonna kill us if he finds out about this." Mista mumbled as he rolls the two of you over and burrows his head into the warmth of your neck. Laughing at his comment, your arms wrap around his waist. "As long as I die with you, I could care less."
Meanwhile, the Bucci squad watch the two of you with white faces, regretting the choice to ask Giorno to turn a security camera into a ladybug.

all of this one for Black Widow??
You're lucky, this is one of the few ones I haven't answered about her yet! Here we go!
1. How good is your OC at making plans? Do they follow through with them?
Aurelia is a great planner and strategist and she will stick to them as much as possible, but she also knows how to adapt them if necessary.
2. What is your OC's drink of choice? Do they drink at all?
Her drink of choice is red wine, but she'll also sometimes take a cocktail, champagne, or other drinks. Very rarely does she also drink rum, but only if it's good rum.
3. What is your OC's alcohol tolerance? How do they act when drunk?
I'd say Aurelia has a pretty normal tolerance, but people think it's higher because she can act pretty sober even when very drunk. It's the absolute guardedness and the striving for affection - and the anxiety, honestly. But if she doesn't have to be completely guarded and in control, she becomes a little more playful when drunk. Or a lot. Her first date with Mihawk wouldn't have ended the way it did if they hadn't both been a little more than tipsy.
4. What is the one thing about themselves they would change?
The one big thing she would change, she already did, and that's her sex. Thanks to a certain queer icon, Aurelia is now a biological woman and she wouldn't go back for anything in the world. But if we're talking about minor things, she'd probably like to remove the scar on her stomach because it's a reminder of what could happen when she lets her guard down and lets herself love the wrong person.
5. What animal do you associate with them?
Spiders, clearly, and snakes - also more or less clearly if you know what culture she's from and who her animal companion is. The spider is of course a nod to her epithet and her crest, and the snakes symbolize her heritage.
6. What's their favourite flower/plant?
Aurelia loves red roses, but her favourite has to be the aster flower, for nostalgia reasons. It's also the one that made it into her crest!
7. What odd habit to they have?
It's more of a quirk, I suppose, and that's rarely using her left hand for things. Obviously, her left hand is a lethal weapon. She doesn't want to hurt anyone she cares about with it or cause unwanted damage. And if she does use it, it probably looks a little odd because she has to be hyperaware of the position of her claws at all times.
8. What is their weapon of choice? What's their fighting style?
Her weapon of choice are her claws. Second place goes to her dagger if she ever needs to stab someone. If she needs to use something bigger, she'll settle for a rapier, but it's not exactly her specialty. Her fighting style, much like that of someone else from her culture, centers around her legs, kicking people and martial arts. In her universe, she's one of the people who taught Sanji!
9. What languages do they know? Can they only speak them or can they write them, too? How good are they at them?
Well, does One Piece have languages? Not really. But if we're talking real-world Aurelia, she's definitely a polyglot. I imagine she knows English (which I hereby define as the lingua franca of the world), Spanish and Italian from a very young age, and then keeps learning languages as she gets older because, if you want to negotiate with someone, it's best to do it in their language or at least a common language. She definitely knows French as the language of royalty and probably some Japanese as the main language of the swordfighting world. Other languages she may know bits and pieces of or understand them but not know how to speak them.
10. How good are they at cooking? What are their specialities?
Aurelia is probably a decent cook. Not really stellar but also not bad. I bet she makes a good risotto though!
11. What is their favourite and least favourite food?
Oof, I honestly don't know. Her favourite would probably be something that can be paired with red wine. Or maybe pasta with a carbonara sauce? For some reason, I could see her enjoying that. But also spicy food. As for things she doesn't like... anything bland or with too much salt. Yes, this means that Aurelia doesn't like salted chips.
12. What is their sleep schedule like? Do they get their 8 hours of sleep or do they run on caffeine?
Aurelia gets very little sleep while she's out and about. She'll stay up late and get up early, and that sleep cycle often gets disturbed when she's out at sea. That means that, when she gets back from a longer voyage, the first thing she does (after greeting her husband, of course) is to catch up on sleep. She sleeps in for two or three days and then its back to late nights and early mornings. Sometimes, she also naps during the day, but anyone who catches her doing this and isn't a person she trusts is probably dead. I imagine she may have mastered the art of sleeping while standing so she doesn't have to take off her jewelry and expensive dresses when she feels like taking a nap.
Thanks so much for your ask! Hope you're having a lovely day <3

It Ends with Us - Book Review
(Spoilers for It Ends With Us, TW for abuse, DV and SA.)
As a writer who likes exploring toxic and abusive relationships (and is careful not to romanticise or fetishize them), and also as a voracious reader who has always avoided Colleen Hoover books out of principle, I decided to finally read ‘It Ends With Us’. Whether to learn something new about how to write unhealthy relationships, or to justify my dislike and learn what not to do, I figured I would get something out of it. I decided to put my biases aside and try to enjoy the book, look for the good and the bad. And I did, find both good and bad in it.
The world’s most unlikable florist:
Lily Blossom Bloom, the florist with naturally lipstick-red lips and seemingly no flaws, who writes letters to Ellen DeGeneres, and opens a flower shop for people who don’t like flowers. The thing I found most interesting about Lily while reading was how unlikable she was for most of the story. As a victim and survivor of abuse she was inspiring and empathetic, but as a character in her own right – the woman – I found her infuriatingly ‘quirky’ in a way that felt forced and made her less relatable to all the women out there looking for a DV survivor character to relate to.
I knew about the line "When he was wiping that cow shit on me, it was quite possibly the most turned-on I have ever been." before reading the book. I'd hoped context would improve it. I was wrong. What context does add, however, is that Lily is writing this down in a letter to Ellen DeGeneres and that it's a completely unnecessary sexual moment in an otherwise very cute and romantic scene. In a book with some beautifully written parts, lines like this remind you that this from the author who wrote “We both laughed at our son’s big balls.”
The love interest who both was and was not:
Atlas is the healthy relationship that could have been, the childhood love rekindled years later. And yet even this relationship, the one promoted by the book as the ‘good’ one, has toxic roots. In Lily's Ellen letters, she reveals that when she and Atlas were together she was fifteen and he was eighteen. During this time he allowed her to make sacrifices for him, sleeps in her bed, and even has sex with her. However I admit, with reluctance, that Atlas grew on me near the end of the book. In the aftermath of her leaving Ryle, he protected and supported her while also respecting the choices she made.
This book is one about abuse, and healing. It is not – despite what the marketing of the movie adaption makes it out to be – a love story. And so, I do appreciate that Atlas is going to play a small role in the story. And yet, the book doesn’t seem to be able to decide how important he is to the plot. In the epilogue the book tries too hard to make us care about their future relationship, when I think I would've preferred to have scrapped the epilogue entirely and instead had a slightly more vague moment during the final chapter that alluded to a possibly of them having a future together. That way, the story could properly close on Lily's iconic moment with Emmy, promising to break the cycle of abuse, and properly fulfilling the main theme of the book.
The cycle of abuse:
A large portion of the earlier chapters are flackbacks in the form of Lily’s old journal entries, and they give us a lot of background into her parents’ abusive relationship. This is an important part of the theme of the book, showing how Lily’s mother stayed with her abuser and Lily, by divorcing Ryle, is ending the cycle of abuse before it can affect her daughter.
There's a flashback scene where Lily walks in on her parents, with SA strongly implied. Later her mother tells her that it's complicated because they're married, and that Lily is too young to understand it. Lily says that she hopes she never will. It's a dark scene, but it’s very well-written and perfectly foreshadows the way that Lily plans to break the cycle of abuse with her own daughter.
The book highlights how abuse comes in a variety of forms; from heartless and cruel people who feel no remorse for their actions like Lily’s father, to otherwise compassionate people who let their feelings turn them into monsters like Ryle. The trouble comes when the book fails to emphasise just how terrible both of those are, and how easily one can become the other. It does do this very briefly near the end, when Lily's mother tells her that her father used to apologise and show remorse for hurting her, but this is not nearly given enough attention.
Some red flags still look red through rose-tinted glasses:
Ryle, the abusive husband, was always going to be a complex character to write. He’s charming, he’s lovable, and so through Lily’s eyes as an unreliable narrator we can understand why she chooses to stay with him. At least, that’s the intention.
The introduction of Ryle left me with mixed feelings. The whole rooftop scene has this bitter, "at least we're fucked-up together" energy to it that I did like, but I wished Ryle was just a bit more likeable at the start. Him attacking the chair was already enough foreshadowing that he could be violent, so him pushing her boundaries by trying to take off her clothes after she said she didn't like one night stands was just one too many red flags in his very first scene. In their second meeting we get the line "I glance back at Ryle and he's still casually stroking my foot." At this stage, I don’t even need to stick around for the abuse to know that the icks are icking. You’ve met her twice, Ryle. Her foot needs bandaging, not caressing.
Every so often, the book would drop a Ryle line that made me yearn for this book’s lost potential. "But for the past week, I haven't been able to get you out of my head. I don't know why. At work, at home. All I can think about is how crazy it feels when I'm near you, and I need you to make it stop, Lily." This line has no right to go as hard as it does, and it genuinely made me want to like Ryle. For the first time, I saw him through the eyes of someone who actually likes him enough to ignore the red flags. And I loved it. The problem is that it made me realise that was the intended effect all along, and it just wasn't done effectively up until now. This is amplified by the, honestly, pathetic way he begs her to sleep with him on the very next page. "I went searching for you because no one in the history of my life has ever crawled under my skin and refused to leave like you did." is such a fantastic line, and if the book was consistent in trying to make me like Ryle then it would be even more effective.
The first time Ryle hits Lily is an interesting scene. It has so much potential and some of the lines ("my tears, my heart, my laughter, my soul. Shattered like broken glass, raining down around me") are beautifully written. But herein lies the biggest issue I have with this book. Lily, as an unreliable narrator, is romanticising her own abuse. Which, unfortunately, is a pretty realistic way to cope with it. But she goes from feeling horrified to having sex with him (yes, this is a sex scene. A sex scene which is presented as a positive experience through Lily's perspective) in a matter of minutes. The next day Ryle uses the exact same lie as Lily's father used to ("she slipped"). I love the symmetry of it reflecting on her parents’ relationship, but it does make me wonder why Lily is so blasé about him lying. Even with her decision to confirm his lie, she was definitely not conflicted enough about this. Especially considering how recently before this she had read her own childhood diary entries about this exact lie.
Lily forgives Ryle for hurting her because she believes there's no such thing as a bad person, just people who do bad things. And I do like how they've given Ryle a complexity to his abuse, not just made him a heartless monster. And I’m willing to overlook Lily's decision to stay with him, because that's sadly common for victims to do. But what I don't like is how the story itself seems to be trying to justify his actions with a sad backstory that should not excuse his abuse.
I knew that there was an SA scene before I started this book, and I was expecting it to be the chapter that most romanticized Ryle's abuse. But I have to admit, it was well written. My heart was in my throat the entire time, and despite Lily's biased POV still coming into play it didn't feel like the book itself was trying to justify his actions. There's a beautiful scene where Lily finally confronts Ryle and finally, out loud, states that nothing she did gave him the right to hurt her. She tells him she wishes the baby wasn't his. It's a fantastic moment of empowerment. And there's a point where they kiss, and I was so scared it was going to turn into another badly-timed sex scene. But Lily actually holds her own and stops him.
At the end of the story, Lily holds her baby girl in her arms and knows, finally, that she wants a divorce. Ryle tries to beg her to reconsider, and she asks him how he'd feel if his new daughter were to someday be abused. In that moment, Ryle realises that he would want his daughter to leave her abuser, even if they truly loved each other. And by extension, he realises the same for his own relationship. In a callback to what Lily's mother told her earlier in the book, Ryle does the only truly loving thing he can do for Lily and leaves her. This character redemption is perhaps more than he deserved, and I do think he was forgiven for his awful acts far too quickly. But it gives hope that maybe he'll be a better father than a husband.
Conclusion:
I went into this book with expectations lower than the pits of hell, and came away pleasantly surprised. And yet, this book is still messy and doesn’t always get it right. Abuse and DV are sensitive subjects, and there’s a fine line between showing the way victims’ judgement can be clouded by love and just romanticising the pain abusers can cause. This book spends its entire plot zigzagging across that line. This review is, in a way, a love letter to the lost potential of this book, the beautiful story of love and pain that could have been with just a few extra rewrites.

hi! i was wondering if you had game recs for someone that has only played sims and stardew on pc! im the person and i want to start playing more stuff but i dont want to start with something too difficult i hope that makes sense 🐣 thank you and i hope you enjoy your weekend
hi nonners!! sure thing! a huge chunk of my childhood gaming was harvest moon and sims so let's see! my gaming tastes are very unified yet all over the place so don't take this as gospel and something you will For Sure enjoy! feel free to follow up if any game/genre piques your interest!
if you never did so, i would recommend giving the sims handheld games (namely, sims bustin' out, urbz, and sims 2 on the gba/ds). they're still in the universe of the sims so you take care of your lil sim/urb but they're adventure games where you're given tasks and progress through the story. the writing is silly but good, and the characters are fun, though the games may feel grindy at times. feel free to hit me up if you'd like, i can hook you up with them!
in the farming sim/resource manager sim, i can recommend you the harvest moon games, now story of seasons. story of seasons: a wonderful life just came out on the switch, and i think other platforms, and it is a remake of the iconic a wonderful life. just keep in mind that it might feel like a step down from just how much content is in stardew valley! there's also the rune factory series, my time at portia (and the upcoming my time at sandrock), ooblets, graveyard keeper, calico, and animal crossing. oh!! and kynseed. kynseed is lovely and it looks gorgeous and it is a life sim where you play as successive generations, with lots of fae elements. it can get a bit grindy but i've greatly enjoyed my time with it.
(and i just started wylde flowers since i got it on sale this week, and i've been really enjoyed it so far, but can't provide a full recommendation since i've had so little time with it)
if you enjoy the decorating part of the sims, i can recommend you the tenants. it's a game where you play as a landlord, decorate houses, find renters, and most importantly do renovation jobs for clients.
if you're in the mood for something sandbox-y, other than animal crossing i think that no man's sky could scratch that itch (you can fully customize options such as resource availability, combat difficulty, etc) and, of course the legend of zelda breath of the wild (and i can only assume tears of the kingdom, but i haven't started that one yet)
if you're wanting to dip your toes into different genres, such as rpgs, i can recommend you the elder scrolls series (especially skyrim is more streamlined and thus, more beginner friendly) and dragon age. both series have difficulty settings you can change as you feel more or less comfortable. if you're interested in party-based, turn-based rpgs, you can't go wrong with the final fantasy series, golden sun, and octopath traveler (which is a recent favorite that i wholeheartedly love, with the caveat that if someone is looking for a large, overarching story it is not the game that will provide that)
edit to add story-based games. there are many but i won't cite what maybe most people would recommend bc i either haven't played it or dislike it. i really enjoyed oxenfree, not tonight, road 96, and most importantly of all, kentucky route zero. my sibling adores the dreamfall chapters series and i really enjoy watching them play it! and my wife (a much more casual player than me but whom i love watching play and has great taste) loved playing strange horticulture, the sexy brutale, eastshade, and coffee talk (episodes 1 and 2)
please keep in mind there's some overlap between categories! and i think that most games will be approachable to beginners. nobody was born knowing how to play games and i find that most games do a good job of bringing players up to speed.
sorry for the long reply!! gaming is just a bit of a big interest for me since it's my preferred medium and i'm a rambler haha. as i said, feel free to hmu again on or off anon!! and hope u too are having a great weekend
