skz record (series m. list)
a/n: so. here we are. i'm finally writing an skz series. i'm also extremely terrified haha. this is a gift from me to you for hitting 100 followers. i love you all sm. also, send in an ask, dm me or reply to this post to be added to my taglist.
all the fics will be posted randomly. i can't wait for you all to read them <3 anyways pookies, tell me which one you're most excited for!!
✧.* hate to admit | (idol!bang chan x reader, exes to lovers)
╰┈➤ summer in australia before debut was one of chris's most cherished memories. his feet in the sand, the sun in his face and you in his arms. and then it was all gone. or so he thought. now that you're working for jype as a pr manager, he finds it extremely difficult not to fall in love with you - or your daughter
✧.* want so bad | (idol!minho x reader, enemies to lovers)
╰┈➤ jype was notorious for kicking out trainees who didn't perform well. you knew first hand when the company picked lee minho over you. and so, as a sweet form of revenge, you had risen through the ranks as one of the top k-pop choreographers in the industry. everything came full circle when you were asked to choreograph for stray kids. except, a certain childhood nemesis might make the lines between love and work blur indefinitely
✧.* doodle | (idol!changbin x reader, forbidden romance)
╰┈➤ changbin shouldn't want you. you're four years younger than him and work as a part-time barista at the gym he works at and a part-time tattoo artist. but it always has been said that people tend to crave the things that they can't get
✧.* love untold | (idol!hyunjin x reader, fake dating, stranger to lovers)
╰┈➤ hyunjin was enamored by you. yes, the two of you only had a sum total of one (1) conversation in a parisian art gallery but he was a goner. although, he knew, that he would never see you again. that was, until, he followed you on instagram - using his official account.
✧.* deep end | (idol!felix x reader, reverse grumpy x sunshine)
╰┈➤ it was no secret that felix loved volunteering. he loved going to the orphanage near the company for two reasons: the kids and you. you with your colourful tattoos. you with your small smile and witty remarks. you, who has stolen the key to felix's heart.
✧.* run | (idol!jisung x reader, friends to lovers)
╰┈➤ you and jisung had done almost everything together. that was the ill-fated result of growing up next to him. but when you both turned 15, he was in korea pursuing his dreams and you were home pursuing yours. finally, after 9 years, you both were reuniting. everything would be the same right? despite the wandering eyes, wandering minds...
✧.* stars and raindrops | (idol!seungmin x reader, former classmates to lovers)
╰┈➤ seungmin was tired of his life as an idol being so restricted. and so, when he happened to stumble open you in a park soaked by the rainwater, he took you up on your offer: attend your high school reunion with him. it's not like one night of alcohol and fun would make him want to see you again and again- right?
✧.* untitled | (idol!jeongin x reader, fake dating)
╰┈➤ with your company's ceo embroiled in scandal right before your first comeback, as leader you knew you had to do something. being a member of the self-producing girl group embr, you didn't know exactly what to do. luckily, your manager had a solution. unluckily, it involved fake dating yang jeongin - your ult bias and celebrity crush.

How to start an art account?
well obviously by posting art but i guess this is not what you wanted to hear so i'll go more in depth
i think the biggest piece of advice i can offer when starting an art account is to not become fixated on numbers or likes and let external validation be your main source of motivation because in the beginning you will simply lack the visibility regardless of the quality of your art so if you start with the mentality of " i want to get big and get tons of likes and be popular" then you'll just give up prematurely as growing an audience takes a lot of time and effort and it's never something stable or consistent (unless you and the content you post are but that's another can of worms) If you want to post on instagram, you can even disable the likes option so that they won't influence you
What i do suggest, however, is to take the first step, which is also the hardest one: post one (1) artwork online. The rest will flow naturally, you don't have to force anything (it took me sooo many months to start posting again on instagram and here on tumblrr; i was always waiting for Something that never came until i finally did it and then it became "routine" fun, even. This is also general life advice from yours truly that I myself don't follow but i digress).
Really now, just post for fun, scream into the abyss, share your art with whomever comes across it. Don't think too much about it and live in the present or in a day-by-day manner. If you start with no expectations, you can't become disappointed, so just don't expect or wish for anything. Don't even think of yourself as an artist or an art account, you're a person who likes to draw and shares said artwork online. That's all there is to it. The rest is not in your control.
From my observations, there are two routes you can take your art account down on:
a) use your account strictly for art== the post-and-dip type, the ~mysterious type that never engages with their "audience"
b) the talkative personality haver art account that besides posting art also shitposts, replies to comments, answers questions etc (like me god i tried to be mysterious but i can never stfu so maybe it was never a choice in the first place sniff sniff) anyways pick your poison! Or try to be both. Or neither. Don't even listen to me that's just what i noticed
Last but not least, be patient. If your art is objectively good skill-wise, it's only visibility that you lack and that will come one way or another. Just focus on improving your skills by drawing what you personally enjoy. it's a win-win situation. And trust me, you can definitely tell when the OP really had fun with an artwork, you can see it in everything so practice that..... having fun and enjoying yourself is crucial that's ur lifeline brotherrrrrrrr As always, there's a mental and concrete side to anything so i guess this was more ~psychological advice, if you want actual tips for posting your art online, i've answered similar CCs before so you can check my courious cat account for that
Hope it helped!

~ Imagine Dragons Concert ~
First of all, Dan sounds good live!
"We're Walking the Wire" was beautiful live. 🥹
I loved the uplifting, encouraging songs, such as "We're Walking the Wire" and "Whatever It Takes".
The backdrops with the moving graphics for each song was gorgeous! I have so many videos and screenshots so I can't recall which exact song(s) I liked the most as far as graphics go, but "Sharks" was neat. The backdrops were basically set up like underwater (obviously) with sharks swimming. A few close up of sharks too, which was cool.
Hearing some of the songs from the 2010s like "Thunder" and "Radioactive" was nice.
Apparently "It's Time" was on the setlist, but I swear I do not recall hearing it! ... And I love that song. 🥺 I was lowkey hoping that they would play that. I definitely would have recorded it.
I was not expecting Dan to take his shirt and shorts off, but there we were... Lmao, and my God, was he ripped. We're talking muscles, 6 pack, etc. The whole package, Poppy!
I loved hearing my favorite songs live and the whole concert itself, but one thing that really stood out to me was Dan talking about mental health. He proceeded to tell us how Imagine Dragons came about followed by things he struggled with growing up in his teen years and even now as an adult. He ended his (2.5 minute) speech by assuring us audience members that we are loved and to please not leave this world.
(I'll post the video on my account soon!)
Again, I have a lot of favorite songs, but the ones I enjoyed the most were "Bones" and "Enemy".
That's...about it! It was a wonderful concert overall. 🩷
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY OH MY GODDDD OK OK:
dan's voice is absolutely incredible! i hope he was screaming a lot during your show because, oh dear lord, i do love guys who scream (*cough cough* tyler joseph *cough cough*) and dan just happens to be very good at it (my favourite imagine dragons songs are actually the ones where he screams lmao)
walking the wire will always be one of the most important songs to me. it was their newest single when they had a show in poland in 2017 and they actually performed it live for the first time that day AND I WAS THERE. i was there. good all days. beautiful song. ahh.
the thing about sharks makes me so incredibly happy for the dumbest reason ever (not because i love the song but because i fucking love sharks shhjdvjsevjh i'm sorry)
i'm pretty sure they still sing radioactive at every single one of their shows which is pretty cool because i love this song so fucking much and i know a lot of people hate it because it's their most popular song, but that could never be me, radioactive is my baby forever and always. i also love thunder. used to sing it all the time with my best friend (who's no longer in my life. but i always think about him when i hear this one. i hope he's doing alright)
what do you mean they didn't perform it's time, it's the most imagine dragons song ever, WHY OH WHY JAIL FOR THEM!!!
he DID WHAT NOW... what do you mean dan was stripping on stage, oh dear lord. to absolutely no one's surprise, i used to have a huge crush on him (why do i always have to have a crush on my favourite artists genuinely what the hell is wrong with me but dan is really hot ok ok), i would probably fucking die. oh dear lord. omg. can you hear mE SCREAMING-
oh, i absolutely fucking love it when he talks about mental health. it always makes me cry but also i always felt so fucking proud because i can only assume how hard it is for him. i know he's been struggling a lot in his life. it's always nice to know you are not alone. makes you feel seen.
i know nobody asked for it, but i found an old video from my show from two years ago and i just want to share it with you. i was really close. and he was wearing a very slutty shirt that day. you're welcome.
i'm so glad you had fun!!! can't wait to see the video from your show!!!

I've had the delightful pleasure of finding out about Through the Deep, Dark Valley, and by golly, I loved every precious second I spent reading it! By the time I finished going through all of the available chapters, I was all too eager to blaze up your wonderful work and point out all the cool details I noticed while reading, and considering the immaculate attention to detail this story has, you can imagine I had quite a lot to say about each chapter. However, I also didn't want to send an ask chock-full of spoilers and deprive a potential reader of the ability to go into this story blind, so I wanted to send it as a DM so I could gush about all the cool little details and conversations I enjoyed without running the risk of actually spoiling someone. Just one problem, for some fuckin' reason, whenever I want to send a long-winded DM, it never actually works. I am convinced there's like a secret character limit they're not telling us about or something of the sort, because long messages like these always fail to send no matter what I do. Never once have I successfully sent a long message through DMs. Real messed up, and since I'll likely be waiting a week for my AO3 account, I can't really talk about all those specifics I wrote about in the comments section of each respective chapter either. It sods me off, but luckily a lot of the things I want to gush about have been pointed out in said comments sections. Not all of 'em, but a lot of 'em, which I love! I love it when artists get praised sufficiently for their work, and I derive great pleasure from praising their works, too! Writing good stories takes so much time and experience! Like, I've tried writing stories! It's extremely difficult to do! You've got some serious talent, and you use that talent to create this wonderful, absolutely immaculate story. That deserves praise! I genuinely hope you're having just as much fun writing this story as I have reading it, and I'm stoked to read the next chapters whenever they come out! However, just because I can't get into the nitty-gritty of the story and point out all the beautiful details I noticed, I can still talk about everything surrounding it. I'll just save the rest for when I finally have a bloody AO3 account.
(I wish I could split this first paragraph in two, but I can't find a natural way to do so. I'm sure that's not a bad omen of what's to come. No sireee…)
Anyways, I wanted to start by talking about what drew me into this story the most. When I first saw it, I was almost immediately aboard. Admittedly, I was a bit apprehensive, but aboard nonetheless. After seeing that 'What If' comic where Laios imagines what would happen if he were the one who got mauled by the big red bad, the gears in my mind started turning. I had so many ideas for how that could play out, it absolutely drove me up the bloody wall! So many cool ideas! But the thing is, everyone has cool ideas. What matters is someone's ability to make those ideas a reality. The fact you're writing this story, making this alternate universe a reality, is something to be commended in and of itself, but obviously it is your ability to do so in such an immaculate way that truly sets you apart. From your writing to the characterization, it is clear to me that you know your stuff, and you know it well. It took a while for Falin to truly grow on me as a character while I was reading the manga, because I was pulling a lot of blanks on who she was as a character. I just knew there was more to her… There was something under that mask, behind that wall she puts up around others, but I just couldn't put my finger on it! She truly deserves the title of 'Miss Enigma'. It wasn't until after I reached out to a remarkably passionate and smart person that I felt I finally understood her a little more, and it really helped complete my image of her in my mind, so when I saw this story a few days later, I was a little apprehensive. There are a lot of interpretations of Dungeon Meshi's characters - especially Falin - but not all of them are equally interesting to me. For this story to work, Falin, as a character, had to work as well. Her characterization in this story was crucial to me, so I hope you understand that I was holding my breath when I started reading. When I found this story, it was like a dream come true; but was I in for the time of my life, or a rude awakening? Well, I'm writing this elaborate cry for help disguised as a message, so obviously it's like a dream come true. This character, this… 'Mystery'… You wrote her perfectly. I cannot think of a single interpretation that could possibly fit this story better. The way you wrote her thoughts, actions and dialogue are all absolutely perfect. I'm quite certain over half of the notes I took were specifically dedicated to the things Falin thinks and says. I relate to her on a very deep level I wasn't expecting, but even if I didn't, I am convinced I would absolutely love this regardless.
I genuinely wish I could dedicate this message to highlighting all of the specific moments in the story I love oh so much, but that'll have to wait until I can post it in a place where I don't risk spoiling someone. I think my favorite part of Falin that I CAN point out however, is that from the outsider's perspective, she's a total mystery. Her inner workings are alien to us. For crying out loud, until recently I didn't even know what to write for her character synopsis! But what makes this story work, is that while Falin may be a mystery to everyone around her, to Falin EVERYONE but her is a mystery! I am enthralled by the way she's constantly experiencing difficulties reading expressions, or second-guessing almost everything she says like she's playing a game of minesweeper! It's like every interaction is akin to a negotiation straight from the depths of the most unforgiving Shin Megami Tensei games, and I adore it! Not just because I relate to it so heavily, but also because it's just such a fascinating way to write her character. This teeny tiny element of her character opens the floodgates to so many interesting and insightful thoughts, conversations and other such things, and so far you've done your damnedest to make absolutely sure every single opportunity for interesting and meaningful moments is seized! That, good sir, takes a level of mastery I myself could never hope to replicate. But what makes Falin work even more for this story, is all the ways in which she handles things differently than Laios. Laios is such a social person despite his lacking people skills, and he can pick up on a lot of interesting cues that others simply don't notice. It's his unique insights and remarkable intelligence that pull the party through its darkest hour, and despite being an outwardly goofy person, has saved their bacon many times over by just being himself. At so many points does Falin lament the absence of Laios, thinking about all the things he would've done were he here right now, all the while constantly worrying about how to even revive him when they get to their destination. It's such an interesting way to mirror all the times Laios thought back to how amazing Falin was, and how she would've probably handled the situation far better all the while worrying for her safety and feeling as though he failed her. They're both so similar, yet so different, and they make up for each other's weaknesses. Another thing that I noticed is that Marcille's presence is far more overbearing here. She's still the same person as she was in the canon story - which further goes to show just how good your understanding of Dungeon Meshi and its characters is - but without Laios' equally loud presence, it feels as though Marcille's personality and overall presence just… Take up more space, for lack of a better word. It's certainly not helped by Falin's comparatively meager presence due to the way she handles social interactions. Speaking of character dynamics, I also greatly enjoy the way Falin bounces off of Senshi. It's something I was really looking forward to, especially with how he interacted with Laios. I was really, really curious to see how he'd interact with Falin, and I'm glad we get to see that here in such a magnificent way! Also, I genuinely think you wrote Toshiro perfectly. I'm not really aware of (the? Is it 'the' public opinion, or just 'public opinion'?) public opinion on Toshiro, but I generally tend to see folks describe him as the character of all time. Seeing that one post-ending story where Falin and Toshiro have a heartfelt conversation really made me wonder what would happen if the two were actually trekking through the dungeon, and et voila! The man, the myth and the bloody LEGEND delivered! You characterized Toshiro exceptionally well, good sir! I cannot stress how much I admire that!
Now, while some chapters of the manga are understandably (and thankfully) skipped over due to likely playing out the same way, there are some tidbits here and there that indicate some things did end up going differently in these skipped chapter, showing how Falin handles certain situations, which is a really cool touch. Getting what is essentially a mini recap with what's transpired between one chapter and the next is really insightful and a really clever way to bridge the gap. One last thing I'd like to mention, is that I genuinely do hope the jumps between chapters don't get too big. I understand not every chapter is going to play out as differently, making it a very good thing to gloss over, but I do also genuinely anticipate seeing Falin's reactions to certain situations or revelations, but I think that's a moot point. (Plus, it's secretly just because I want more to read. Your writing is SO friggin' swag! The more, the better in my eyes.) You've clearly shown you're highly capable of writing an excellent story, so I'm not worried at all. In fact, I have faith you'll be posting hit after hit, and I can't wait. Good luck with writing up that buffer! Personally, I hope there's a great wealth of chapters left for you to write, because I could quite literally sit down for days on end reading this without pause. You've done expertly so far, and I lament I cannot point out all of the specific interactions and other such things I loved in this comment, but that just means I get to save it for another comment whenever I finally get my grubby hands on an AO3 account.
With that though, have an absolutely wonderful day, king! Yes, it's a bit abrupt. What about it? It's difficult to wri--fucking evaporates
it's the fact that i literally saw your other asks you've left for other writers and immediately heard the jaws theme playing. i literally went ohhhhhh. oh i am so cooked. and... yeah man i am so fucking cooked. this write up was so amazingly heartfelt and kind, and i really do appreciate everything you've written for me.
if it makes you feel any better, i can say with certainty that the only other chapters that are really being skipped are the spirits/treasure bugs chapters (if only because they're being summarized quickly to get on with the plot in the part that i wrote), and even then they'll probably be mentioned in the future. this outline... man, this outline is THICK. we're talking 20+ pages of notes (even if those notes do include my summaries, my start and end notes, etc.).
there are also a few pieces that may be skipped as we go through certain beats of the story but will be revisited (specifically a certain chapter involving a younger version of some of these characters).
the biggest challenge in writing TtDDV has truly been figuring out who Falin is as a character (and also all of the research i've had to do because Kui has truly thought of... well, a lot. there's a lot going on. it does help because it answers a lot of questions).
a lot of people seem to agree with you on my characterization of Toshiro, which is really nice! he really is the Most Character of All Time, and i thought that it would make sense to make him... well, A Bit More Character. make this guy fun, if you will. a little silly, even. but yeah, it means a lot to know that people like the way i write him! one of my betas literally said "i didn't care about this guy until after reading this" which, as you can imagine, made me feel pretty good about my writing.
i have a lot of thoughts on Marcille. i love that girl so much, and she indeed is the loudest motherfucker in the room now that Laios isn't here. i've been trying my best to not make her... well, annoying, so i've been trying to kind of herd her around much like a cattle dog, picking little pieces of her dialogue to include from the manga while also developing... well, the elephant in the room. the elephant in the room being the yearning and semi-slow burn.
ANYWAYS, i'm rambling a lot, and i've got so many thoughts, but i need to shut my trap before i start laying out EVERYTHING that's going to happen in this series. i'm glad you enjoyed, and i'm so excited to see what you end up commenting!

There was something strange about Brock, something that had always generated in you a mixture of fascination and fear.
Your relationship began out of mere convenience. But what began as a professional collaboration soon turned into something more personal. Still, there was always an air of mystery surrounding Brock. Something he never wanted you to discover.
One day, after weeks of silence, you received a message from him, asking you to visit him at his cabin on the outskirts of town.
As you drove down the dirt road, the trees seemed to grow taller and the shadows thicker. When you arrived, Brock was waiting for you on the porch.
“Thank you for coming,” he said as soon as you got out of the car.
“I thought we agreed not to make this personal,” you replied.
Brock didn't respond right away. Instead, he gestured for you to come in.
“I need you to promise me something,” Brock said suddenly, breaking the silence as he sat down in a chair across from you.
“What is it? “you asked.
“Don't go down to the basement. Whatever happens. No matter what you hear. Don't do it.
“Why?
“Just don't do it. I can't explain it... but it's for your good.
What could be in that basement that made it so dangerous?
A couple of hours passed in silence, as Brock offered you a glass of wine and you talked about trivial matters. But you couldn't concentrate. Your mind kept going back to the basement. What was it that he didn't want you to see?
The night progressed, and the storm that had started as a gentle drizzle became a deluge. Lightning flashed across the sky and thunder rumbled, rattling the cabin windows. Brock seemed increasingly restless. From time to time, he would cast furtive glances toward a door in the corner of the room, a door that could only lead to the basement.
Finally, after some stilted conversation, you excused yourself to the powder room. As you walked down the hallway, you found yourself facing the basement door. You knew you shouldn't have, but your trembling hand brushed against the knob.
Then you heard it. A thud, like something crawling across the stone floor.
What on earth was that?
Remembering Brock's warning, you backed away from the door. But when I returned to the living room, he was gone. The fireplace was still burning, the rain was pounding furiously on the windows, but there was no sign of Brock.
Suddenly, a piercing scream broke the silence, coming from the basement. It was a scream that resembled nothing human; your body froze.
What was down there? Why had Brock been so blunt in his warning?
Before you knew it, you were back in front of the basement door, your hand on the knob. Another scream echoed, and something inside you needed to know.
You turned the knob and the door opened with a creak. You cautiously descended the first few steps.
You moved forward, forcing your feet to move. And then you saw it.
In the center of the basement, there was a sort of circle of runes drawn on the floor, glowing faintly. In the center of that circle was Brock, but it wasn't the Brock you knew. His eyes were empty, his arms outstretched toward the ceiling as if he were trapped in some kind of trance. Around him, grotesque shadows writhed, dark shapes that seemed to feed on his energy.
You took a step back and tried to call out his name, but my voice caught in my throat.
“I told you not to come down,” Brock's voice echoed, but it didn't come from his mouth. It was as if the darkness itself was speaking to me.
When you awoke, you were alone in the living room of the cabin, the fireplace off and the storm abated. The cellar door was closed as if you had never opened it.

So I know it's been a hot minute since I posted anything art related That's because I've had family obligations to do and events so I haven't had time to actually work on pieces but I am going to get back right to it, So I've heard of this app call Blue sky and a supposedly it's supposed to be better than Twitter (I am not calling it fucking X You cannot make me) And it's a newer app and I heard about it I'm like you know what why not give it a chance since I have stood away from actual social media like the fucking plague and I haven't been on an actual like apps like IG, Twitter, Snap, ect. Since very late 2019 because of everything that was happening I needed to take a mental break from anything that was social media related So this is my first time going back on the some sort of social media (I consider Tumblr more of a blogging site than a social media in my own opinion which it is a blogging site lmao) So if you're all are interested in following me on there go ahead I appreciate the support I might post my old artwork on there too I'm not sure let's see where the horizons take me lmao 😂 (also there will be probably a bit of reposting from here onto their so be prepared for that if you do follow me on there)

Ooooh Shinee world is a mess today and for once it's not taemints fault 🥲
An article about fans asking for a Taemin would tour and "shawols" in the quotes going "no shinee" "shinee first" "wait until Jinki comes back so shinee can have a world first"
Like, I too would love a Shinee world tour, I want all of them both solo and as a group to go everywhere(in particular where I am but I won't hold my breath) but that wasn't what it was about. It was fans of Taemin's solo music asking for a tour.
It baffles me cause you never see this kind of thing with the other members. No ot5 shawol will ever expect another member to put their work on hold but, when it comes to Taemin it's like some people can't stand to see him spread his wings.
People never expect Key to put his variety work second, or for Minho to not take acting job, shawols have actively gotten mad if they think Minho had to turn down acting stuff due to his schedule. All Taemin does is music. That is his thing but some fans just cannot seem to respect his career. And all the baby talking in the quotes "we love our cutsey wootsy little taeminnie *but*..."
It's getting really irritating. I used to think some of what taemints say is exaggerated and I still believe that a bit. People were getting angry that the Shinee account didn't post Taemin's hanteo artist of the year nomination and only posted Shinee's, but it makes sense to me. They don't want to split votes and a win for Shinee is a win for all of them. But at the same time some of the disrespect I've seen towards him from supposedly ot5 shawols has been eye-opening.
I dunno, this fandom has been a mess lately and it's only the 4th. 2024 is off the quite the start.
Lol, I sort of find it funny when it's not Taemin fans being the mess-makers. Like they are the worst-behaved, though I would say each solo fandom has their unique flavor. But, what you're highlighting is the biggest open secret in shawol-dom.
Let's have sexy photos in this post for no reason.
Tumblr media
Like, shawols are for the most part chill. I've been around these parts for a long time, and a bad day in shinee world is miles and miles better than a bad day in BTS fandom and similar. There isn't violent language or a huge level of harassment. I just want to acknowledge that because the complaints I'll make next are from the privileged shinee world perspective where there is a higher behavior standard. That is the case, even when Taemin fans are being stupid. Like, not once did I see the Golden Disc Awards violently harassed.
So, the open secret: it's all yay Taemin until he gets too much attention. And you noticed it's still very much "our baby taemin" even tho man's been out there trying to fuck the stage for a decade, lol. I see these as two sides of the same coin. They want him in his place as perpetual baby to uwu over, and daring solo work is fine as long as it doesn't outshine everything.
I think with Key it's easier for people to compartmentalise because he's super super successful outside of SHINee when it comes to TV and sponsorships (istg he IS Olive Young, lol; his face was all over Seoul), but those things don't directly compete with SHINee's work. These are complementary endeavours. Key's solo work is now having its career high since Bad Love, and it's only growing, so this condescending solo situation may repeat itself. But, Key's also not the group's little baby. I can't see him being treated the same. The fandom's most egregious behavior towards him has always been rooted in stereotypes. I mean, look how quickly and comfortably people slotted him into this squabbling "marriage" dynamic with Minho. Their arguing is funny, despite how played up for the camera it can be, but I see a lot of "iykyk" weird posts about him and Minho. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked.
Tumblr media
There is always going to be an element of competition when it comes to solo work. Onew's Circle just got named Billboard's #1 kpop album of 2023. Guilty didn't even make their best of list. Now, I think Guilty was overlooked but Onew deserved #1. It's an extraordinary album. Minho is cultivating this very sexy and mature solo repertoire. This competition will grow, but I think Taemin will always be the target of condescension, minimizing and infantilizing.
He's the perpetual baby who will be put in the obedient baby box. And those fans will be incised when/if Taemin gets to do something they find meaningful before SHINee, even if it's a clear matter of logistics. There is a definite attitude present, and you might notice there is a certain superiority fans have over his solo work. I've been in situations where people have quite literally said they think X member's solo concerts are better than Taemin's with their whole chests. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but when it comes to him, people are wayyyyy to comfortable putting him down.
Anyway, it will always be a bigger "but not him" with Taemin because he was given solo first and has built this legacy of work and has a lot of influence within the industry. Stolid group fans take pride in that when it suits them, but want him to be sidelined when it interferes with their desires.

First post time! Oh boy, here we go.
I first want to start off by saying hi. So, hi. Just made this account today, and I'll be going by Nocturne! I'm a digital artist that's in every fandom and no fandom at the same time. I mostly made this account to start off with commissions on an actual social site, but I'll also be posting a TON of fanart!! This platform is so creative, it would be a crime not to join in on the fun. :)
To start off, commissions will be for OCs and such only. Once I get pricing figured out, I'll be designing OCs based on a prompt, making pfps of a given character, drawing scenes involving them, or even making ref sheets if requested! Keep in mind that my art style leans on the cartoon-ish side! I will ask beforehand if someone wants their commissioned work posted on the blog, and will make sure to watermark whatever is posted to prevent theft of what someone else paid for. (Of course, the one who got the commission will be sent the un-watermarked version)!
As for my endless abyss of fandom garbage, my work will be all over the place. I have fallen into the trap that is shipping art, so that will occasionally sneak its way into things (apologies in advance for those who do not enjoy the sweet or sappy). Some of the games/shows that may show up in the blog are The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Sonic The Hedgehog, Pokemon, Portal, Infinity Train, Amphibia, and Little Nightmares.
I look forward to this experience and hope I can grow with every day! Can't wait to see what everyone else puts out there, too. Maybe one of these days I'll get the hang of this!
Enjoy a low quality image of the avatar I made today.

Hi! I was wondering what canvas you use and if you’ve got any tips for starting off with art online?
Hello! This answer may get a bit long, but I hope this helps some people! I'm always happy to answer any questions I can.
I use Procreate & Clip Studio Paint! These are my dimensions, but anything with 300 DPI is normally fine. I use higher because I make products and prints! Also increase your canvas size if you draw on small canvases.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for tips on starting art online, the best advice is just start. There is no such thing as the perfect time and perfect skill level. Art is actually more about marketing and learning the platforms you're posting on. Also unfortunately some luck, but you can increase your luck chances a lot with a few basic things. Keep in mind this is under the assumption you're trying to make art a career, if you're doing it as a hobby don't worry about this stuff and just post whenever you want.
However, if you're trying to grow and make art a job -- Post consistently. Seriously, this is the MAIN key that will help you especially in the beginning. Posting regularly and consistently is so important. -- But Kat, what if my art takes a long time to produce and I just can't post consistently or regularly? I think it's important to have 2-3 types of art that you upload.
Passion Projects / Big Detailed Work - This is the stuff that you're really passionate about. This is the reason you draw whether it's OCs, fanart, whatever it may be. This is where you're sinking your big time and effort into. These are the projects that keep you from burnout.
Quick Content - This is the stuff you can produce for reasonable time and energy. Social media is FAST people look at art very quickly and creating something that is quickly consumable can be a real life saver. This will keep your accounts alive and active during waits between your larger projects. It's a calculated use of your time and energy. For some people this is speedpaints or product videos, even WIPS/Sketches. For me I decided to turn my doodles into little comics/scenes -- it's fun and I love doing it. Everyone is different, so finding out what your quick go to content can be is up to you.
For some people those first two types are all you need, but for a lot of artists we also depend on commissions! Commissions are important and I recommend making a carrd, website or doc where all of your information is easily obtainable. Clear prices, clear examples and nothing too cluttered. Aesthetics are nice, and you can decorate as much as you want, but keep in mind the most important thing is to be able to find your information neatly and quickly. Make yourself easily accessible!
The last little bit of advice I will leave you with is, don't give up. If art is something you love, it's super easy to get discouraged but don't let it get to you. I've been trying to do art as a job since 2012 and only saw a crumb of success in 2022. It can take years, just because you don't blow up overnight doesn't mean art isn't for you. Keep practicing, keep learning and keep trying. You can do it, you will do it.

BYF (PLEASE READ)
My character lore is very complicated and I’ll generally be posting about one of the stories I’m most obsessed with (currently as of late it’s PureBlood), here are the TW’s and CW’s of what some of my art/posts will contain so be cautious:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-side note I have never personally gone through/have most of the things I write so even though it’s important to the story I want to preface if you’re a victim/have any of the aforementioned disabilities/mental disorders(/conditions/illnesses)/experiences and find the way I depict them to be harmful in any way, I am very open to criticism so please personally dm me and inform me of what I should fix. Or if you want to help me correctly write a character with said experience’s feel free to do so I’ll make sure to credit you (unless you say otherwise)
also keep in mind I find most of what I depict to be very serious and I wont be glorifying/romanticizing any of what I depict to be “cool” or “cute” and I also do not condone any of this irl, I’m also not a proshipper (to any NSFW acc’s or proshipper’s don’t follow me please)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IMPLIED/MENTIONED: s/a, rape (will never be explicitly shown), trafficking, animal death and torture, necrophelia, RAMCOA, religious trauma, war, incest, pedophelia, grooming, suicide/suicidal themes, self harm, abuse, eating disorders, demonization of mentally ill and disabled people, proshipping (mc is one, not me), crayons (this has its reason of being here), drugs/drug abuse, alcohol/alcohol abuse, medical trauma, murder, slavery, bright/flashing lights and colors, cults, body horror and sex jokes
I don’t care if you’re under 18, if you chose to follow after reading this that’s your choice and that’s on you, I only ask for you to handle these topics with respect and be mature about it and don’t make others uncomfortable please!
And I would love to grow a fanbase/community of course so hopefully you can be apart of that (only if you’d like)
|
Although what I write is technically intended for people 18+, this is in no way a green light for you to be weird towards me (as I am a minor) or make sexual remarks about me or post/send me nsfw fanart. I say do whatever you want with my oc’s, use them for whatever and have any headcanons you like.
If you're a proshipper/nsfw artist (or just whitewash characters) please don't post that shit anywhere I can see it. I can't exactly stop you but it would make me very uncomfortable
(Also if you’re wondering why a 14 year old is writing stuff like this, all I can say is that I am severely paranoid and I want to finish my work as fast as I can manage and unfortunately my anxiety and paranoia won’t let me wait 4 more years, lmao idk if I’ll even be alive by then :P)
if you still want to follow me but don’t want to see these things, I’ll make a second account and link it in my profile where I’ll still post art/oc content but for all ages @tazthecas
Thanks for reading :D have a nice day

I've always had an insatiable urge to create. From as long as I can remember, I've been interested in expressing myself through various mediums, though none have been as successful as my writing. I can attest to producing four unpublished novels and a constant growing number of "beginnings," as I like to call them. But I've always yearned to teach myself how to draw.  There's just something magical about visual modes of expression that always amazes me.
My elementary school had a pretty decent art program, which eventually led me to take a drawing class in high school. The teacher let us sit wherever we wanted, so I chose to take up space at a table with my friends. This was a big mistake for me because I wasn't fully aware just how talented my two friends were when I decided to share the space with them. Most of the time while we were working on the various assignments, I kept silently comparing my work with theirs and this filled me with a sense of doubt. Near the end of the year, another teacher approached my friends about joining an advanced class for the next year, and it became sort of an inside joke that I was the only one at the table that didn't get this privilege. When it was time to pick classes for the next school year, my mind was racked with doubt and shame, so I decided not to pursue the Drawing 2 class, thinking my time was better spent on other subjects. It's one of my biggest regrets that still creeps up on me when I'm sitting in bed staring up at my popcorn-less ceiling.
Although I'm not really sure how I stumbled upon it, I ended up purchasing Alex Huneycutt's Solo Artist course a few months back. Since then, I have been letting my fear of failure get the better of me. Procrastination loves to munch on this fear because it's always more convenient to not do what drives you, no matter how bad you want it. But it is something I want to do. I want it more than Pacman wants dots, Gordon Freeman wants crowbars, and Bowser wants Peach. But if I go it alone, I'll need some accountability so that I stick to the entire course.
That's where this blog comes in.
I'm going to start Term One of the course this month, even though I get chills just thinking about it. I plan to spend at least 4 weeks on each Unit, but might repeat one if I think there is more to be learned from that topic. I'll try to write a post at least once a week summarizing what I did, what I learned, and showing off pictures of the art I did. This should (hopefully) light a fire under my ass to get started on this long odyssey.
Can't wait to start making progress on my art journey!
