Hu Tao never had, isn’t currently in the possession of, and never will grow a sense of shame, so while that meant that getting her to be embarrassed by something she did was almost an impossibility, it didn’t need a genius detective to notice that the people she surrounded herself with, with the exception of Zhongli and Xingqiu, although she was sure she’d get to him someday, didn’t exactly fit the same criteria.

And while she wouldn’t complain about receiving a new customer, business could wait for a little longer.

“Y- you know what? I- is the offer still available?”, you asked slowly, the shame and nervousness openly displayed in your voice, as you looked to the ground, too scared of what you might see if you looked up at her..

“Sure, if you buy a casket from me? They’re surprisingly affordable… most of them at least”, Hu Tao joked, only to shut up for a second when she realized you were too occupied with fearing for your life to notice her genius joke.

In one quick motion, she grabbed your hand before moving to your side so the two of you stood shoulder to shoulder, before suddenly intertwining her fingers with yours.

And while you spent the rest of the trip too embarrassed and deafened by the internal screaming to feel frightened by the dark hills that made you nervous from just thinking about them not long ago, Hu Tao happily skipped by your side while humming her favorite tunes.

—I’ll be only writing for two because that’s what I said in the rules, but I really like this and loved writing for it! 

ALBEDO

You already knew that he was not someone who knew about feelings very well, despite being called a “genius” all over Teyvat. However, as he is not human himself, “feelings” are very much put of his league and is still continuing on to study it on his own.

And maybe your initial relationship with him was just an experiment, or he really did love you at the time that you two were together, but all has ended now. 

Or did it really? 

You saw him again when you visited the city of Mondstadt for the first time in months. Yes, it had been a while since the split but you also were 60% sure that he will be out in his laboratory in Dragonspine 

However, your guess turns out to be wrong, and now you’re awkwardly standing in front of each other, with Klee in between the two of you, 

“Y/n! Long time no see! Klee missed you so so much!” the little elf clung herself to you, attempting to embrace you. 

Now, this is totally awkward. 

You awkwardly embraced the child and it seems that ALBEDO had noticed it—just like he always does when you two were still together… or he’s generally like that. 

“Klee, Y/n has a lot to do, we shouldn’t bother them anymore.” 

“But Brother Albedo! I miss Y/n so much, can you not stay here for a while Y/n? Please?” 

You could only look at the child pitifully and were about to say you could but-

“Ah, If I may recall, I have something to say to them. Klee, do you mind if you step out a bit so I could talk to them?”

You frowned to yourself, thinking; did he really have to do that? Does he not want his sister to interact with you now? 

“I apologize… We did not mean to make it awkward for you… Y/n.” He sounded hesitant, and you decided right there and then that it was time, to be honest with him. 

“Albedo, actually… I think we should really talk.” 

If it was you who asked him to have a second chance, he’d be very well inclined on saying yes. 

If you won’t ask him, then he’ll be the one asking, he’d be quite hesitant, actually. He doesn’t know if you’ll say yes, and sure it was good to try but he also thinks there is a possibility of this hurting his own feelings—no matter how much he still doesn’t know how someone like him has one. 

“Do you want… to try again?” 

Let’s talk about if he asks this question. 

Because if he does, then that means he realized how much having you there by his side affects him positively—and the opposite if not. It took him a while to realize this, but after he did, he couldn’t stop thinking of how he wanted to see you—how he will be able to see you. He would doubt that you’ll ever step in Dragonspine, knowing he’d be there the whole time. And thus, there began his waiting game in Mondstadt. 

Sure he does come by his lab every once in a while but he doesn’t stay there for far too long, making sure Klee or the others would be on the lookout if they ever see you come by. He even made a deal with Klee that if she sees you and he’s not there, she’ll try to stop you from going. 

No matter what your answer was, he’ll be the type who’d accept it, but nonetheless, brood over his failure in the end if you tell him no. He was the one who had let this happen, and thus all the responsibility should be his—is what’s in his mind. 

But at the very least, he had voiced his question. 

And now, it’s your turn to answer. 

XIAO 

As much as you were the only one he could talk with and bare himself with all of these “feelings” the humans often so expose themselves with, he was also the only one you felt that way with for the longest time in your life. 

And you found this out very late in the relationship; when you two had already broken it off. 

It was difficult, of course, as you slowly came to realize this and when you already had. He was irreplaceable and it was all too late. He was gone, you could not even muster the courage to call him even if you were in grave danger or even if you really needed him. 

It was just one time. One time was all it took for you to swallow your pride and call his name. 

All this time, XIAO had been waiting to hear your voice (unconsciously), and when he finally did, he almost thought it wasn’t you out of thinking that he probably made a mistake, but he wasn’t. 

You would never expect him to ask it—neither did he. But really, he would. 

Well, not exactly in a straightforward manner… but at least he tries. 

“Would you like… Are you going to stay?” He looks away from you, actually too fearful that he’d see the disappointment or displeasure in your face—not that you have one. 

What does shock you more was how he stayed with you for the longest time that day—probably much more than he did before.

By then he was twice as attentive, observant, and more… open. 

He still did not talk that much, but he does talk; asking you how you were, where you had been, your travels, and basically your life without him. 

Not that he was only doing this because he wanted to impress you—well, maybe unconsciously… but that was not entirely the reason for this. He’s doing this because��� well, because he misses you—your presence alone calms him down, and he misses this. 

He wishes this could last forever, and his wish reflects much on his actions—all the more so in the longing in his eyes. 

“Should we… try again?” 

No matter who spoke those words between the two of you, it is far too obvious what your answers would be. 

Because no matter how many times you two would try, you two still gravitate towards each other—a devotion you and him would gladly take risk of.

It may be a pretty cute position for you, but for Childe, it has a meaning more about feeling responsible for your protection. In this way, he can also hide his face in the crook of your neck, leaving little kisses all over your collarbone with a victorious smile for having you by his side until he’s completely asleep. ♡

ʚ♡ɞ — Diluc has a thing for literally feeling you over his body, so his favorite position is having you on top of him while he’s lying on his back, you resting your head on his chest and your legs between Diluc’s legs, which are flexed and spread apart to give you the space you need to situate yourself comfortably. This way you can hear his heartbeat well, which becomes unstoppable when you move even a little bit. Luckily you can't see his face and how extremely flushed he is. Diluc discreetly makes sure you don’t raise your head to look at him, putting both of his hands on it playing with your hair while he tries to distract himself with any other thing to bring down the hue of his cheeks to normal. ♡

ʚ♡ɞ — Kazuha absolutely loves intimate moments with you, so he takes advantage of some place where there’s no one around at night to spend some time alone with his dearest. Sitting on the grass, the night cloak over you two and you next to him. It’s the moment of the day that Kazuha treasures the most. Loves having you close, when you lean your head on his shoulder as he puts his arm around you tightly, whispering how he’s needed you alone for him and only him, maybe even ending with a needy “may I kiss you now, please my love?” ♡

ʚ♡ɞ — Kaeya keeps you close while you are both resting in bed. When you crawl to his side to rest your head and one of your hands on his chest, that’s definitely something that moves his heart and quickly reacts, passing his arm under your head hugging you closer to him, reaching with his fingers your cheeks and the corner of your lips. Every time his digits meet your mouth, an irremediable desire to throw himself at you and kiss you floods him, but Kaeya must remain calm — right now his pretty girl is resting in his arms and he’s a very honorable gentleman. ♡

ʚ♡ɞ — Itto has a total of 0 problems when it comes to satiating his need for cuddles. Wherever you are, whoever you are with, he has it very easy to get you up from the ground — the height difference really helps him —. Your reaction by inertia is to wrap your legs around his waist so you don’t fall, and by the time you’ve fallen into his trap it’s too late to escape. His eyes begging you to please give him some attention, the pout on his lips and his strong but careful grip on your thighs all mean one thing — give him some love or you’ll be clinging to him like a koala all day! He has no rush, after all. ♡

ʚ♡ɞ — Heizou loves hugging you from behind. From the front is too boring for him, besides, it amuses him greatly to see how sometimes you get scared with his spontaneous appearances in which without saying a word, Heizou appears behind you, immediately grabbing your hips with his hands, getting closer to you and giving you a little kiss —or lick— on your exposed neck. As a man literally made of chalk I feel like the bird would have a hard time with Albedo. Because he moves. He makes weird sounds but he doesn't smell or act like the master.

He does stand still for hours through and doesn't seem to mind at all when the bird nips him. Cons? He always is trying to examine bird. So he's like like a solid 6. So bird normally does another him.

But when he does, Albedo is actually really good about it and backs off. It's kind of funny because He'll still be having his conversation with Diluc on their 20 ft apart, and bird is circling overhead waiting for a nip of chalk.

Al Haitham

Now Al Haitham doesn't really strike me as a pet person, but with his constellation leak, I'm thinking he's gonna be the highest rated of the harem at a 9. I think he'd put an honest effort into learning about Diluc's falcon, and he's telling himself he's only getting into falconry for the utility of it and not because he's looking to learn more about Diluc.

This doesn't mean the bird is always happy to see him, though. But the bird is never nearly as aggressive with Al Haitham as he is with others. The bird will just nip at Al Haitham when he tries to put his hands on Diluc or comes close. And Al Haitham just takes it and looks at the bird-like

"Yeah, do your worst he's mine."

Probably quietly curses the bird when they are alone.

Ayato

OK, Ayato. LOATHES the bird. and the bird LOATHES him right back.

It's pretty much a standoff anytime that the bird starts getting protective around Diluc. Like Ayato doesn't get flustered by much but that DAMN bird. Really the only reason Ayato gets flusters is that there is JACKSHIT he can do about the bird. He can't attack because Diluc loves that thing, so he just sort of has to take it.

So he ends up running around the courtyard doing his best to dodge the damn bird.

Oh yeah, Ayato's rating? 0

Childe

So the bird also despises Childe. But Childe? He adores the bird. And because Diluc loves the bird, Childe works hard to win the bird over.

So it ends up with Diluc starting at Childe cooing at the bird who's got his finger in his beak and is doing all he can to take it off.

"Are you alright?"

"Perfectly fine! This little guy is just playing!"

Also, Childe's been falcon-punched. More than once.

Eula

So Eula actually likes the bird. But from far. She appreciates the beauty and elegance of the bird. But you know it's best to love something from afar.

She sometimes hid in a bush to avoid the bird but at the same time, she gets to admire how beautiful, calm, and generally at peace Diluc looks with his bird.

The bird? He doesn't mind Eula she keeps her distance. 7

Itto

Much like Childe, Itto is trying to brute force a relationship with Diluc's bird. But he has a lot more success than Childe. Because well Itto it like made of stone. And I sort of feel the bird would be more comfortable around an oni than a human. So Itto gets a pass.

He still gets nibbled, but Itto just laughs it off and gives good pets.

Kaveh

So we are back down to Ayato's level. Kaveh and bird don't get along at all. He originally loved the bird because of how it added to Diluc's natural beauty. Like, honestly, Diluc is so elegant with his bird.

But then, the first time Kaveh causally approached, he startled the bird and well got attacked. Doesn't help I think Kaveh looks like pompompurin which I think translates to him looking like prey to the falcon so ya know.

Falcon thinks he's food. But quickly realizes he's not food which pisses the bird off. So now it attacks Kaveh on sight. 1

And that one is only because the only way Kaveh gets him to stop is by giving him snacks, so ya.

Thoma

And we quickly go back up with Thoma. Thoma is an animal person. and often knits little sweaters and hats for Diluc's bird. Which. The falcon always ends up destroying. Thoma doesn't mind, though. He can always make more. And the Falcon is normally very calm around Thoma. He still gets bitten and clawed but much less the others. And even when he does he's very calm and does well to calm the bird down.

Bird score? 8 only because the Falcons hates the clothes.

Xiao

So the first time falcon saw Xiao, he smelled pray. You know. Xiao is well, Xiao, and the bird is quite nervous about it. So bird doesn't bother Xiao at all. He actually avoids Xiao when he visits.

But honestly, both slowly warm up to each other.

The falcons are actually a lot calmer around Xiao. I think there was on an incident where both noticed how happy Diluc looked while he was teaching Xiao how to handle the falcon. And I think there was a was silent agreement between the two to get along for Diluc's sake.

Rate? 5, and only because getting bullied by a sparrow is incredibly embarrassing for a falcon.

Zhongli

Now Bird sees Zhongli as less a person and more as just a big rock. Like on of the big pillars in huaguang stone forest, you know where Diluc's Falcon is probably from. So He doesn't really attack Zhongli or get protective around him. He'll perch on Zhongli, but then he gets shocked when Zhongli starts moving.

Which bird doesn't like. And starts nipping at Zhongli. But Zhongli doesn't mind it at all.

Bird rating 7. Could be better perch if stood still.

OKOK HEAR ME OUT HEAR ME OUT- chonky moth watching you as you cook or bake something- i'm gonna go with baking because i like it more- and you're mixing and rolling stuff out and he's just watching your every move, tilting his head side to side when you walk across the kitchen. when you finally take the treats out of the oven BOOM he's suddenly right behind you and leaning over your shoulder curiously before you gently push him away because they're "way too hot to eat right now" and he pouts, blepping at you until you console him with scritches and pats!!! (he definitely steals one when you're not looking tho and burns his tongue)

Childe puts up QUITE the fuss but quiets when you give him a few pets and say you'll be back before he knows it!!! but Zhongli notices he's more sulky and despondent because he MISSES you and he's LONELY and Zhongli is at work all the time and Childe doesn't like being alone :((( the minute you get back he pounces on you and purrs loud enough to hear across the house but you can hear where the purrs hitch slightly because he's on the verge of tears too ;-;;;

i say i am a kaeya main but in reality zhongli is the only character tripple crowned so ofc i can try to do this

how does this come about? venti and zhongli are actually roommates and renting a suburban place because everyone knows zhongli has high standards.

however, zhongli has no job nor is he able to get one that easily.

venti was fine paying for everything for the first 3 months but after he did the math and realised that he will never again drink high quality wine if this continues - he demanded that zhongli gets a job

in reality, zhongli knows a lot but the knowledge is rarely of practical necessity so when he sets out to look for a job - he is really looking for anything at all

luckily for him, your manager always talks about how it would be a blessing if 'someone with the highest coffee shop aesthetic' worked here. 'the business would blossom!'

all your doubts were immediately dismissed when your manager rushed into the shop at 9am while dragging a man by his arm inside

he was beautiful, and the colors inside the shop only made him appear even more mesmerising

yes, he was slightly confused why someone had to drag him inside in that manner but he did not mind since on the street, the person already promised him a job. now venti had nothing to be mad about, right?

venti did not. you however did.

when your manager asked him to make coffee for 3 he confidently walked up to you, brushed past you to get closer to the machine.

but nothing happened.

he just stood there.

you looked up at him and his chin was in his hand. never has anyone stared down the coffee machine like this.

he was an expert at making tea but this was just so different.

zhongli turned his head to look at you.

'excuse me, but what is it exactly that i am supposed to do now?'

your manager laughed but you knew he was serious about the question.

'you need to press in the order you want. and then make it using this machine.'

'ah, i see.'

and he still did nothing.

it irked you that despite this he got the job as just a waiter.

your manager was reluctant to let him go after all.

when zhongli got home he told venti about his job and what happened. venti knew how much trouble a clueless zhongli really is so he made him play papa's freezeria on the computer to get a sense of his new job.

zhongli came the next day. completely composed and seemingly prepared. in his wishes to be on time, he came early and since his key was not made yet the first sight that greeted you was not the usual door with the closed sign - it was him leaning against it with his coat and his nose slightly red from the cold.

'i am glad to see that you are here.' his voice touched you at that moment, and he was more comforting to see than the lonely.

'could you please unlock the shop?'

and you did.

when the two of you walked in, he took both of your coats and hanged them on the rack.

he seemed gentle enough and careful enough not to mess up on his first day.

zhongli dedicates himself to everything he sets his mind to. and he was flawless as a waiter. polite words and smiles; he always remembered the order correctly and his presence did draw in a few more customers.

you were still the one who worked the register and made the actual orders tho.

at the end - he made sure to help with cleaning but when the two of you were putting on the coats he said: 'it is a shame.'

you simply asked what he was referring to because his look held some regret.

'oh, my roommate made me play a game so i get familiar with the register. i just thought it was a shame i didn't get to use it today.'

how can someone feel regret about such a thing? and why did it seem so serious all of a sudden?

'if you want, i can show you how to use it tomorrow morning before the customers come?'

'i would appreciate it.'

his smile at that moment was enough to make you smile too.

and you did show him. when there was free time; it was dedicated to helping him learn how to use the register or how to make simple orders.

really, the early mornings spent with him in which you watched his hands shake to becoming steady were so ordinary but so magical.

he was always glad to learn something new.

he was a quick learner but both of you worried that he would make a mistake during official work hours so he never had a chance to use it seriously.

but, after a week and a half, you caught a small cold and zhongli was left to fight all by himself.

for those 2 days your mind was filled with worry for him. 'is he going to be okay? how will he manage the new people and the more complicated orders? will he be able to do latte art? maybe the manager will help him more now and come to the shop more often while i am out sick?'

this made you realise he was somehow an important part of your day.

after the cold, you rushed to the shop faster than ever.

he had already unlocked it and what greeted you was zhongli behind the open register.

he gave you a smile before walking over.

' i am glad to see you are here again.'

'oh no.' zhongli held your shoulders. 'you are all out of breath. is this a side effect from the cold?'

he did not even give enough time to answer and already seated you down to the closest table.

'please wait here.'

how embarrassing! you rushed here to fast just thinking about him and even ran out of breath on the way here! thank god zhongli is so dense he did not question you more or teased you.

'here.'

he slid a coffee cup towards you and you immediately smiled.

he had made a heart latte! for you!

'i actually wanted to come and visit you but this place was so busy and i did not know your address. it would have been inappropriate. but, i finally used the things you taught me.'

and as zhongli sits down across from you; he is so happy to share what happened and all the things he did thanks to you.

sure, the business bloomed in this place but it seems like love has started to bloom as well.

he receives a mini bouquet of glaze lilies almost everyday so he has a vase on his cashier to put them in.

a bit random, but he smells really good. you can literally smell him from just walking past his station. (no one knows if he uses a perfume, if it's his detergent or he just naturally smells amazing.) also never sweats.

childe

gets directly hit on by highschoolers

on valentine's day, he receives so much fake roses and boxes of chocolate (all bought from the same place he works at)

he just smiles at them to accept, but leaves most of it in the pantry for all of you to eat

he doesn't have a specific line for receiving compliments, he just chuckles a little and *ignores* continues on what he was doing

ok but fr tho, he looks amazing in his work apron with the topless hat while manning the cashier so people just can't resist the urge to line on his aisle

on breaks he eats at the cafe next to the grocery, phone leaning onto his drink while he watches an episode of gilmore girls !! this is canon, 100% true.

the tips this man gets. he actually earns more from the amount people give him compared to his actual salary.

he does an amazing job of helping new customers because he personally knows a lot about the products.

gets hit on by a variety of people (moms love him best)

he politely declines and recites his rehearsed line of "oh no, no, it's nothing. i'm just doing my job."

doesn't know he makes people fall harder by saying it like that.

he's clueless, but so many people come back because they think he's absolutely adorable and for reason that 'the customer service is amazing.'

kaeya

gets hit on almost 100% of the time

but he cares more about keeping tabs on the people hitting on his co-workers (no, literally. he has a note on his phone with the count)

when he gets hit on his hand instinctively comes up to scratch the back of his head and i swear to god- !! this man.

just like diluc, he also has a rehearsed line when getting compliments. he says it specifically while he's packing the last bits of a customer's items, "oh yeah? thank you so much.. well, it's been nice meeting you. can't wait to see you next time."

and then he just gives them back the bag with a smile.

it works like a miracle; all of them come back.

I think I know why i loves this blog (and you, of course!) So much. My parents was separated when I was just a baby and I lived with my mom ever since, and that mean I lack love with my father. We still connected, because he DOES love me, they divorced because back then apparently my father was a playboy and my mom, being young and all, didn't like it and they keep arguing about it (lol).

Also I've been craving to have older brother ever since I was a kid, so when I first got exposed with Germancest from hetalia I was like,.. very fond of it.

But yes I think a lot of people go through a “shame phase” when it comes to this sort of thing, I definitely did, spent years feeling like there was something wrong with me.

Also don’t feel bad about having to redo classes or anything like that -- there’s a huge pressure to do things perfectly but no one can do things perfectly, it’s perfectly normal to repeat classes, I think there’s a lot of people who don’t want to admit it so we don’t realize how common it is.

I’m also bigger on more submissive/scared darling inserts... I’m a very nonaggressive person tbh. A lot of yandere fanfiction has the darling like insulting them, hurting them and fighting super hard and I can’t relate very well 😅 I prefer a darling that like, doesn’t just lie down and accept it, but more like tries to be sneaky and work around the yan/try to escape by acting or underhanded, covert methods, bc I know that’s what I would do lol. I’d be way too scared to be super defiant, a stubborn brat sure but not extremely defiant.
