the more i think about it the more i’m convinced lettergate is one of our best theories, no seriously.

i’m a firm believer letters are gonna play a big role in revealing mike’s true colors to the audience before everything. it just makes so much sense.

the way will expressed his love for mike through his art. he drew him in his d&d costume, guiding the party using a shield, with a heart on it, and that was his “i love you” in his own way as the artist he is.

then we have mike. wants to be a writer. writes d&d campaigns. sends letters to his girlfriend. but then we have “you can’t even write it, mike.” because you’re supposed to be able to write it. that’s what you’re good at.

and then we have will and mike’s fight over this. “meanwhile el has like a book of letters from you” “that’s because she’s my girlfriend, will.” “and us?” “we’re friends, we’re friends!”

we always talk about how mike made this romantic without will implying anything, and i think the reason is mike associating “sending letters to will” with something romantic, because that’s exactly what he did in the letters he never sent. whenever he attempts to write something to him, it ends up looking like something you’d send to your girlfriend, and they’re friends, so that’s stupid.

then we have the soundtrack “letter to willy”.. the name is already suspicious since billy’s “william” name wasn’t used in the show let alone using it in a childish way as “willy”. anyone who knows stranger things would think of will when they see that, not billy. but what’s more interesting is when this song plays other than max’ letter scene.

it plays right before the painting reveal. when mike is talking about feeling insecure about his relationship with el. as we know from later episodes what max said in her letter to billy wasn’t the full truth. just like whatever mike said in this scene. and right after “letter to willy” plays, will reveals his painting to mike and gives him his veiled love confession.

considering how this was a hot topic between mike and el & mike and will in season 4, i think that would be one of the best ways to reveal his feelings to the audience, as a contrast to him not even being able to «write it»

Hey I have yet more AZ headcanons for yall (I’m fresh off writing so I am Big Brain ™ about him lmao)

- his accent is… unplaceable. He speaks a lot of languages but he doesn’t sound native to any of them, probably most familiar to Kalosians but even then he sounds… archaic. Like an actor in a historical film

- he has two laughs: a soft chuckle or a full belly laugh where he has to sit down or else he’ll fall over. No in between (and it’s often a surprise which one is triggered)

- he is demisexual, but swings any which way romantically. However, you have to be especially flustered around him for him to get the hint that you’re attracted to him, otherwise he’s oblivious

- he has never been inside a car in his life and is, in fact, a little scared of them (“They come from nowhere at my height”). He takes the train though if necessary

- he used to bury things he wanted to keep but couldn’t carry under Geosenge Town but understandably… he’s moved basically all of that stuff to Hotel Z now

- he’s fascinated by movies. His theoretical Letterboxd is a wild ride because he’ll just take movie recommendations no questions asked, no synopsis needed. He um. Has only been let down once (hey punkass why did you recommend the splatter film to the sad old man)

- he has a garden in the back of Hotel Z with a bunch of exotic flowers (some thought originally extinct), he theorizes that Floette collected many of the seeds over the millennia and kept them safe somewhere (even he doesn’t know where)

- sometimes he will completely make up a bullshit story about his ancient past, but he’s not a very good liar because he’ll have a stupid smirk on his face as he tells you lmao

- he only gets the newspaper for the puzzles and throws the rest out (me too man me too……..) his fav is sudoku

- similar to the online footprint thing from my last post, he’s hesitant to do any sort of interviews, even if they’re audio only. He thinks people should get to know him by seeking him out themselves, not having their opinions filtered by canned questions

-that said, he will assist well-meaning historians who 1) know his deal in the first place and 2) are seeking a primary source on past events (again, w his journals, he’s got a lot written down)

- he’s vegetarian (he would be vegan, but you know the French and their cheese) he knows a lot of ancient vegetarian recipes too!

- he can sleep anywhere. And often does (his employees have to stay vigilant to make sure he doesn’t fall asleep behind the counter)

The word “love” is a hard word for me to say and admitting that I have a crush on someone including a celebrity is very hard for me to admit. “Love” is NOT my favorite word. It’s a very uncomfortable word for me to use/say. I don’t usually admit that I have a crush when I do. I don’t like to admit when I have a crush on someone. I really don’t like having crushes 😭. I’m not used to talking about my feelings on someone/anything.

The truth is that I have a huge crush on Val Kilmer and I obviously love him. I love Val Kilmer. I love him. I really do love him. I’ve had celebrity crushes before but it’s different with Val Kilmer. I never thought I could feel this way about anyone. It was very hard for me to admit that I love and have a crush on Val Kilmer but I finally admitted on tumblr and to myself. I really surprised myself.
