hello! May I please have a Dabi x fem reader in the lov who likes to draw? I think she finds his scars and stuff to be a work of art in itself and is like (oh heck I gotta sketch this). He glances at what sheâs drawing and she gets all flustered! Maybe he even takes his shirt off at one point which can lead to some other things~ (I like smut but if you think fluff fits the prompt better thatâs alright with me!) Thank you and I love your writing!
a/n: hii! of course love! this is super sweet omg i love dabi, i feel like i dont capture his character very well but imma try like hellđ©đ©this is probably ooc for him but itâs sappy and i love it
summary:Â dabiâs hard to read, but that doesnât stop you from sketching him. you find beauty in his flaws, entranced by his scars, so much so that dabi canât help but be interested in you.
key: (y/n) - your name / (f/n) - first name / (l/n) - last name / (e/c) - eye color / (h/c) - hair color / (y/q) - your quirk
warnings: swearing, fluff, sappy romance bc i love this man, some spicy themes, one mention of a slight(possible? idrk what counts) manga spoiler (e.g. dabiâs past/history) (manga spoilers in tags!!)

Itâs never been a really big secret that you liked drawing. But when it comes to working for the league, specifically, the League of Villains, your line of work doesnât allow for very much downtime unless youâre in the midst of planning some sort of attack or rebellion.
Whether or not the league keeps hopping from rendezvous spot to rendezvous spot isnât up to you, but you never fail to get a little used to the eerily calming silence that falls upon the league during the first twenty-four hours of the new four walls that seem to keep you safe for the time being.
With a barely sharpened pencil in your hand, a small drawing pad in the other, youâre staring at Dabi as you sketch him.
It started as a bit of a joke, maybe just teasing him since he liked to tease you about being into him since you were the only one he was really super close, if you could call being the first one he spoke to every time he saw you or the one you sought out to be paired up with during missions, âsuper close.â
But now, it was something you enjoyed.
Dabi was one among the very interesting members of the league. Something about his scars just seemed to entrance you. Pulling you in further and further down a rabbit hole of questions that you had but never let leave past your lips.
It felt wrong to ask, not that it was a bad thing to be curious, but because Dabi was just so mysterious. No one knew anything about him, or about who he was, his past, even his real name was a mystery.Â
It felt wrong to disturb the unnerving peace that was Dabi. The resting expression on his features balancing on a thin cable between anger and poor personal resilience.
Dabiâs scars were the highlight of your sketches, always standing out. What the others may have thought to be ugly, or unattractive, you thought were beautiful, and emotional.
There was a story behind them, one you wanted to know, one you wanted to uncover and read, page by page, line by line, and word for word, discovering just how truly deep Dabiâs past was. But only Dabi could show you that, only Dabi could open that book for you. And you were willing to wait. Youâd wait an eternity if you had too.
His rough raven hair is messy and strewn about as you scribble down his facial features, the groggy lighting making it just a tad difficult to see as you lead the pencil over the warm white paper littered with graphite covered fingerprints.
His arms are positioned on a counter, the art work resembling how he was sitting sloped against the kitchen table, elbows pressed against the dark mahogany wood, hands resting by his mouth as his cerulean eyes peer off at the cracked cement wall in front of him, occasionally glancing back at you.
The other members of the league were scattered about but it didnât bother you. Toga asked you a couple of questions, wondering what you were doing, if you were excited about the new plans and such.
You replied quietly as to not disturb the peace.
But soon some of the members left, going off to go eat or find something to do. And soon you were among the few left behind, along with Dabi, Shigaraki and Mr. Compress.
Having almost finally finished your current sketch, you were stopped by a pair of hands picking up your drawing pad. Rough and calloused fingers drew your pad away and your attention away.
âHey Iâm not finished.â You glanced up at Dabi. Dabi just admired the talent poured into the sketch. Dabi couldnât wrap his head around why you drew him so often, but he didnât mind. It was kind of touching in a way.
âIs that really what I look like?â Dabi joked, handing you back your sketch pad.
âYou have looked in a mirror once before, right?â You titled your head to the side, adding a bit more detail to his scars as you began to draw again.Â
âA few times. But Iâd rather look at you, doll.â Dabiâs hands reached down again, this time pulling at your hands. Leading you out of the room where the other two members sat, finding a way to entertain themselves, Dabi lead you up some stairs in questionable condition.
Picking a random room, he sat down on the rickety bed and waited for you to sit down.
âWhyâs that?â You tease, returning to drawing, looking up at him every few seconds to reference. And to admire him.
âYouâre easy on the eyes, beautiful and-â
âAre you saying youâre not beautiful, Dabi?â You stopped him, not pausing to look at him.
âIâm not beautiful, Iâm gorgeous.â Dabi chuckled, shaking his head jokingly as he laid back against the bed, his head dangling off the opposite end.
âYou are.â You confirm. Finally finishing up your sketch. You get up and walk over to him, handing him the finished sketch.Â
âYou add so much detail to my scars. Theyâre just scars.â The tips of Dabiâs ears flush as heat floods to his face. Heâs flustered but he wonât admit it. He canât understand why you think heâs so beautiful.
You donât speak. For the first time, youâre speechless. You sit down beside Dabi, and now that heâs sitting up, he faces you.
You reach your hands out and gently lift one of his arms, holding one of his hands in your own. You run your fingers across the scarred flesh, gently caressing his skin.Â
His hands are cold compared to your warm fingers. Heâs getting chills all down his spine as you touch him. Itâs not meant to be anything out of the ordinary, but heâs still shocked that heâs letting you touch him.
âYour scars are beautiful. Iâm sure thereâs a story, something about them that might make you hate them, but I love them, and I think they make you that much more beautiful. You are a masterpiece, every scar a carefully calculated brushstroke on a beautiful canvas.â Your words finally come out, overflowing with love. You canât sit quietly anymore.
âDabi you are beautiful.â Your eyes lock with his, and you can tell heâs unsure of what to do.Â
Dabi no longer felt he had the ability to cry, but if heâd let himself, he wouldâve done it in that moment. Being so open and vulnerable around you just happened. It came too easily, and he hated it, but he loved you.
Pulling his arm away form your warm touch, he tossed his jacket off and to the side before tearing his shirt away from his body, allowing you to see his chest, and more of his scar covered skin.
Sitting quietly with a faint blush on your cheeks, you couldnât look away. trying to avoid staring directly at his toned chest and his nipples, you raised your hand and allowed your fingers to sink down across his sternum.
Soon your fingers were met with his abs, which the heat on your face noticed far too well.Â
âSay it again.â Dabi mumbled. You lifted your head to look into his eyes again, your hand still resting against his chest.
âYou are beautiful-â The moment the words left your lips, Dabiâs own lips were pressed against yours. Kissing you roughly, more than he intended too, his hands mangled into yours, pushing your arms over your head.
His heart was pounding and it felt like it was going to beat right out of his chest onto yours. Pulling away for a few seconds, Dabiâs hair covered his eyes as he looked down, finding interest in the collar of your shirt.
âI want you.â Dabiâs words were simple, but they didnât have to be complex. You knew what he meant, and you knew what he wanted. You wanted it too. A chance to see him in a different light, with deeper meaning.
A chance to connect with him, one on one.Â
âThen take me.â Your fingers intertwined with his, your arms still resting above your head. It didnât take long for his lips to magnetize back to yours, sticking to them like glue.
When Dabi thought about sex, he didnât come anywhere close to making love. There wasnât that sort of option when it came to him. He didnât think he was at all capable of love, let alone a relationship that was going to have any sort of emotional connection strong enough to make him feel stable.
But you, you were so vastly different from anyone heâd ever fucked. So different from an excuse to get his dick wet, to get his mind off of league business or heaven forbid, his past.
But you, you were what he needed, what he wanted. It was far from therapy, but itâd work. Having you around was like a drug, addicting, and heâd be going through withdrawals if he couldnât have you.
Feeling you, touching you, fucking you, kissing you, it was fuel to his fire. He was damaged goods, broken and shattered, impossible to put together, but you were doing your best, working on the smallest parts, exercising precautions, and opening your heart to him.
Hearing his name in the form of your moans as he rutted into you, your legs wrapped tightly around his hips drove him wild, much like the way your hands tangled into his hair, forcing his head into your chest where he kissed and sucked on your skin, leaving marks.
Your moans and his own grunts of pleasure were spewing from the locked room. Dabi didnât care if the others heard, he was enjoying the moment.
Every part of it. Every part of you, every part of your body, your words, your love. And before he knew, Dabi was at his highest, his face flush against your naked chest, breathing heavily as he inhaled your scent.
Still inside you, he didnât move, allowing the two of you to catch your breath. It was in this moment, if Dabi allowed himself to cry, he wouldâve cried a second time. He was so infatuated with you, so attached.
âI love you.â Your words scared him, causing his cerulean eyes to peak at you through locks of his noir hair.
âThatâs stupid.â Dabi kissed your sternum, kissing up your chest, stopping at your neck to leave a little mark, only to meet at your lips in the end.
âHow?â You ask softly, your hands massaging his scalp as his lips hover over yours.
âI canât explain it, it just is.â Dabi frowned, trying to understand what your eyes were saying as they clouded with emotion.
âLove is complex, and I think that maybe youâve never really had good experiences with it. If youâd let me, I could show you just how beautiful it can be.â You offer, a small smile on your lips.
âIf you feel the need-â
âI do. I love you, and I want you to know love.â You kissed his forehead. Dabi eventually pulled out, not minding the mess, heâd clean up later.Â
âI want you to know why I love you.â You whispered, hugging him closer to you.
âWhy I love your scars, your hands, your strength, the rasp in your voice, all of it. I love.â Dabiâs arms are strung over your waist as he lays, face nuzzled in your neck. Itâs a bit of a stretch for him, and he feels out of place, but itâs oddly comfortable.
The next couple of times you draw Dabi, you ask to see him shirtless again. And with every new sketch, thereâs something new to be learned, for Dabi. Heâs learning about love, and loving you.Â
He finds that you still draw him incredibly cute, and though he wonât admit it, he loves when you draw him. Heâll pose for you if you ever ask, and you always tease him a little about how it was like he was born to be a model.
Itâs a long road ahead of you, but itâs one youâre willing to take, to show Dabi just how important love is.

I used to want to be an artist but then i stopped drawing for like 7 years. I want to go back but i'm scared and dont know where to start. So yes, i am interested in those drawing videos can you post them if you dont mind? ^_^
Of course!! I am in the same situation as you actually. I used to draw a lot in middle school (2010-2012) but my depression worsened during high school and in college, Iâd only draw as a distraction, never seeking to study or improve. I decided to get back this year, since I decided drawing was the only thing I could see myself doing professionally. I felt very lost, because how do you get back? How do you know whatâs your actual, current, art skill? What are your weaknesses? Your strong points?
Thatâs how I learned to study the fundmentals of art. Because visual art is not a skill. It is a set of skills, if you are very good at anatomy but not really when coming to painting your art is going to look differently than someone who learned anatomy in how to draw manga books but paint like a pro. I am going to divide this post in categories, Also, all the videos I link I also recommend all the channels they are from! My favorites are The Drawing Database, Sycra and Ganev, Sycra and The Drawing Databse have a little of everything and are great at explaining. Ganev is a bit sarcastic but I like the way he teaches. I took some parts of the text of this post from here.
How do I begin? How do you even get back at art? What tips should you use? These are general tips videos, usually nice to draw along. /the fundmentals and how to get started/ /5 tips for better drawing/ /perfect pratice/Â /beginnerâs guide/ /5 tips for digital art/ /10 tips to improve/ /why your drawings are stiff/ /what level is your art/ /improve your art fast/ /drawing basics/ /how to hold and control your pencil/ /intuitive drawing method/ /iterative drawing/
The Fundamentals: Proportion & Placement Proportion is relationship between one element and another. In the visual arts proportion relates most importantly to the abstract quality of scale and placement. You know how stereotypically an artists puts a pencil to their eye when looking at an object? Theyâre mesuring the proportion of the object in question and how to represent it corectly in the drawing. /principles of proportion/ /ways to create illusion of space/ /drawing the human figure/ /how to draw proportions playlist/ /how to use proportion in character design/ /basic anatomy and proportions part one/ /part two/ /part three/ /part four/ /proportion basics/
Form & Construction The idea of form is how we see the 3D objects in or world and transform them into 2D in the paper/canvas. Itâs understading that eveyrthing is made up of basic forms. /dynamic sketching part one/ /part two/ /how to draw forms/ /structure/ /building form/ /another how to draw forms/ /how to visualize 3D forms/ /form study process/
Perspective & Depth Perspective is knowing that as things move away from the viewerâs eye, things seem to get smaller. Get familiarized with terms like horizon line and vanishing point. This is the basic that must be understood to learn perspective. Hereâs a good article about this. /an intro video on the subject/ /step by step tutorial/ /perspective basics part one/ /part two/ /part three/ /part four/ part five /part six/Â /another basics video/ /20 perspective lessons/ /eye level tip/Â /linear perspective/Â /simple form perspective/ /drawing the figure in perspective/
Anatomy Anatomy is something I think itâs one the most crucials things to learn in order to make your drawing look good. Once you understand how joints work youâll be able to see how bones and muscles move. And this goes for anything with a skeleton. Itâs one of those things of you learn the rules before breaking them. I am linking different playlists, since linking different videos on various parts of anatomy would take forever. Just study a body part at time: head, eyes, nose, lips, ears, shoulders, neck, hairline, breats, torso, hands, feet etc. /how to do an anatomy tracing/Â /playlist 1 /Â /draw the head from any angle/Â /anatomy for artists/ /draw facial features/ /how to draw and paint/ /playlist 2/ /draw 3/4 head with loomis method/ /playlist 3/ /drawing a head in 3 hours (this one is great to draw along with the artist)/ /how to draw a body/ draw a head with loomis method part 1/Â /part 2/ /part 3/ /decipgering bridgmanâs anatomy/ /anatomy quick tips/
Gesture Gesture drawing is a method of capturing figures in exaggerated poses, usually drawn quickly. It is important to undersand that the goal of all gesture is to study the figure and see how it moves. I like looking at poses and copying them. Hereâs a good article. /how to draw gesture/Â /how to draw any pose/ /draw interesting poses/ /a guide on gesture drawing/Â /tips for expressive dynamic poses/Â /figure drawing tips/
Composition The overall layout of a piece is very important. Artists often consider things like the rule of thirds or the infamous golden ratio. Neither truly defines a composition, but they can both go into your decision making. /composition in art/Â /understanding composition/ /10 composition tips/ /beginnerâs guide to composition/ /art fundamental: composition/
Value Studying value is very much the study of light and shadow. But there is a technical side of light that youâll want to pay attention to if youâre going for technical rendering. /guide on rendering/Â /seeing light and shadows in daily life/Â /10 minutes to a better painting/ /understaing colors and values/ /shading basics/ /ambient occlusion/ /shadow colors/ /tips on how to shade/ /draw shadows on objects and people/ /lighting tutorial/
Color Theory Color theory is understanding which colors go good with eachother, and knowing the pyschology behind it. (what are cool colors? what colors make someone feel comfortable?) It is fundamental in art for you to understand the relationship between colors and what makes them look good. Best color theory books. A comprehensive guide to color theory. /hue value saturation in photoshop/ /color theory for noobs/ /understanding color/ /what you should know about colors/Â /warm and cool colors/Â /the basic elements/ /choose colors that work/
Traditional Media If you draw in traditional media, all videos above can be used easily. These are just videos for general tips in traditional media, there isnât many since my focus is digtal ^^â /watercolor tips/ /draw with colored pencils/ /blending colored pencils/ /4 how to draw lessons/ /Block in colors/ /holding the brush/ /
Digital Media Digital art is how everyoneâs been doing art these days. It doesnât matter if youâre doing with your phone or your computer. I donât do art on my phone, I know the most used app is mediabang for android and procreate for apple, and I think anyone who is able to do art with their finger is very skilled. If you are like me and prefer doing art on your computer, you probably have your tablet. If not, well you should have. Not having a tablet is not an option if you want to get better at art ^^â Best tablet for beginners in 2020. Or you can just buy an old used one, if it still works, and you are a beginner, a small intuos is all you need. When talking about softwares, the three big ones I see people using are: Photoshop, Clip Paint Studio and Paint Tool Sai. The best one is CPS, but I find Sai easier to navigate, but CPS is extremely complete and I hope to be able to master it someday. CPS Tutorials. I donât have much to say about photoshop, people use it mostly because theyâve been using it forever lol I divide my digital painting process in steps: Sketch/Lineart/Color Blocking/Shading/Blending/Color correction. Sketch is the basics, draw your idea. Lineart is to clean your sketch. Color Blocking is to color your drawing one color, so itâs easier to work in it. Shading is to understand where the lighting sources are coming from and apply them. Blending is to blend the colors of your drawing with brushes. Color correction is when I use filters of hue/saturation and others to make the drawing more appealing. These require understadings of the software of your choice which I am not very good at the moment so I canât give you more tips than that ^^â Hopefully these videos can help. /perspective grid/ /clean line art/Â /coloring process/ /make lineart interesting/ /best brushes for digital painting/ /skin shading tutorial/Â /lineart vs painting/ /art in clip studio paint/ /hair tutorial/ /3 tips for improving/ /10 digital art mistakes/ /color block tutorial/ /shading skin/ /from lineart to painting/ /cleaner lineart/ /add texture to your art/ /improve your art with better shadows/ /the importance of brushes/ /use layer modes/ /improve your lines/ /how to blend colors/ /another blending tutorial/Â /color blocking/
Exercises Itâs no secret that to improve on art, you must pratice. Everyday, even if itâs just a little! A great way to pratice is make use of youtube picture in picture function to draw along in your software of choice. /pratice drawing forms/ /proportion exercises/ /perspective exercises/ /value studies/ /creative drawing exercises/Â /simple drawing esercises/
Resources Senshi stocks, a deviantart page full of poses photos. Quick poses, pictures of models, contains nudes. Character design references DesignDoll, create a personalized sketch doll and make it pose.
Phew!!! This took forever to make and is way more than you asked for, but I decided to go all in so I can have a masterpost for me too and for anyone else interested in art. As soon you can understand the fundamentals, you can do your own research and study, youtube is really great for this. I hope this helps, letâs get better at drawing together!!! Ganbarimashou (àž âąÌ_âąÌ)àž
#anon#askbox#I feel there's a lot more to add but I'm tired I've been working on this sicne yesterday ^^'#Like there's more softwares and resources I could link you I know of that#So when I think of something else I may add to this psot#post#if you feel overwhelmed because this is a lot of info you can start with the beginner section of this psot#and sycra's channel

rosenmarilleâs embroidery tutorial
hey anon you made my entire week and i love you
Let me preface this by saying that Iâm in no way an expert and Iâve literally only been doing this for less than a month, so most of what I do is making it up as I go along. hopefully you find my tips helpful though!! <3
I wasnt sure which part you wanted to know about so i made a rundown of everything from start to end
1) List of things youâll need:
Embroidery frame (I just went to the nearest crafts store and got them in two sizes. Theyre quite cheap and sometimes also come in plastic or different shapes)
Fabric (the less stretchy the better, though if youre planning to decorate clothing I think it really depends on how determined you are. what ive got here is some leftover polyester fabric from cosplay and other sewing projects. you can even sew different pieces together if one isnt big enough for the frame but in that case you need to iron the sewed piece flat or else it will be very difficult to keep straight and neat)
Embroidery yarn (see pic) (theres two types, and ive only used pearl yarn (top) so far but the other one allows for more precision since you can pick how many strands of yarn you need)
Needle (see pic) (properly pointy, not like the crappy one above. I mainly use that for crochet things because it actually bends and thatâs NOT what you want here)
Scissors and a pencil
2)Â Sketch: Pick an image of what you want to do. Iâve found that at first, practicing with basic shapes and colours is a lot easier to get used to the whole thing, it helps give you a feel of how the yarn ends up looking stitched to the fabric. So far I almost only did screenshots, and I didnât have to draw something up myself. In mobs case, I based it off a doodle I did in class and added a little colour to itÂ
3) Pick fabric and yarn: Thatâs mainly up to you, depends on what youre going for, but as a fair warning, very light fabric colours will show the stitches and leftover yarn from behind, so you need to tuck them behind the main body of your embroidery later on
4) Apply to fabric: 2 ways, both pretty much self explanatory, only heres where the stretchiness of the fabric comes into play. As you can see ive developed a fool proof technique, ive had tape stuck to the top of my laptop for weeks now, im not about to waste it? (use more than one tape, this is an old pic i took because the concept was hilarious in the moment) Pro tip: donât draw your sketch on paper advertising dnd game sets because youre gonna have a hard time seeing the pattern through everything and youll curse yourself for doing that instead of paying attention in class Pro tip 2: dark fabrics demand a white colour pencil, you literally wont be able to see anything else
5) Stitches: heres a LINK to the page I use to find all the different stitches I could possibly use. Practice makes perfect, i spent about two hours trying each of these out on an irrelevant piece of fabric to see how theyd work and how difficult they are, and still use that bit as ref to consider how a stitch would look on my current piece. Of these, ive only used about three in my finished broids, since theyre mostly for decorative things I think. Donât let that stop you though, get creative and use the things im too lazy to incorporate!! (ill be using these terms for the rest of the tutorial, so if you dont know a word its probably in there)
6) Outlines/shading: Start by outlining your sketch with a few backstitches to get a feel for where everything needs to be. If theres shading then itd be useful to do those lines in the other colour already, or youre going to have to fix all that later and itll be a huge pain and make you want to stop altogether. It happens
Im not sure if thatâs how its supposed to work but I fill in the shades first, it gives me a good sense of what direction the main colour stitches need to go to make it look dynamic.
7) Fill in mains: This is where all those handy dandy stitches from that library probably wont help you too much if you want to do something relatively simple. Ive only used normal satin stitches to fill in colour so far, though what the link doesnât mention is that it wastes a shitton of yarn. Yarn is expensive, so what you can do is come up for point 3 not back next to 1 but instead next to 2. Warning: that does warp the way the yarn lies though, so use that one accordingly (for example: I do Not use it when doing small delicate places, or things that need to be detailed in general)
Mob was fairly simple as far as that went since i didnt add a lot of pattern, but ritsu is a little more complicated. Like i said earlier, adding shade before the main colour helps because now i know where the folds in his clothes are and how the fabric would bend to accommodate it.
8) Add details (like faces!):
Again, here I cant tell you exactly how you need to stitch to get everything looking good, just try to follow the way a face has its dynamics. Is it a long face, make lots of long vertical stitches, is it a round one, try to stick to the edges (but donât spiral)
Facial features are a little more difficult because its hard to make a round nub or dots for pupils on something very small but its better to try 5 times and get it right the 6th instead of leaving the 1st try (i took ritsus entire face apart at least 3 times and t b q h i still think it doesnt look good but ¯\_(ă)_/ÂŻ)
9) Background: Get real fancy on that shit, heres where you can try out those cool rose shaped stitches from up there in the link, go wild lol
10)Â Lastly: PATIENCE
I cant stress this enough, this WILL take a loooot of time, the first ritsu I did took me a literal week, while the second one took me roughly four hours in total (and that was a rather simple design).Â
Accept the fact that it wont look as good as you imagined it. That may sound harsh but for me thatâs been my main issue, imagining how a string would lie exactly and then looking on in disgust when that doesnât work out. Youâre not drawing, the medium doesnât exactly translate, but that doesnât have to be a bad thing! Try to figure out what methods work best for embroidery exclusively.Â
Donât be afraid to undo, be careful about it though. I use those big scissors and itâs a bad idea, donât do that. Unpicking from the back to save the yarn also works but it gets difficult (and at some point impossible) once the strands start getting woven together on their own
And there you have it, a finished piece of embroidery!!Â
You can now either hang it up in its frame and cut away the excess fabric at the sides or tie it around a piece of cardboard like so. itâs a little hard to get right at first but practice amiright
I hope i could be of help!! if you have any more questions feel free to come to my ask anytime!! ^^ <33Â
#embroidery#pari stickt#tutorial#i still cant believe someone actually asked me to do this#anon who are you i want to hug you omg#also i hope you see this??? id have tagged you :0

Hey! I'm just gunna summerise my feelings ;w; I don't feel like I'm improving at all...I practice daily but I can only stick to references or it all looks wrong & it's fustrating cause I rly want my own art style but I'm never satisfied with my work
well, since youre the one drawing you never actually see the way you improve bc youve been doing the work but try asking some friends you trust to give you some productive critisimn (how do you wrife that) and welll abt references its all part of learning, i use a lot of references while drawing to make sure it looks fine. Dont worry much about it just keep on practicing and dont give up so easily
- advisorđș
Itâs ok to use references, a lot of good artists do. References donât make your art bad.I recommend getting anatomy down before anything else, which you can do by doing figure drawing and observational work. I wouldnât worry about style, they kind of develop naturally as you begin to exaggerate parts of your characters and you begin to make them looser, but it could help to find some art by artists you admire and try to find the elements that make you like them. You are improving, even if you donât think you are. Just persevere and it will pay off in the end :)
- advisor đ
Even it looks like youâre not improving, trust me, you do! References are important for an artist, to be honest, because you canât learn without looking at them and trying to do them. Even good artists need references.
About the style, itâs okay if you still unsure about it, itâll develop in time. I kept changing styles for like 2 years and just now I have one for myself. Practice is very important. If you canât wait, then this is something I tried and helped me a bit. Choose 3 artists you love so much and look at their drawings. See what you like about them and then try remember it and draw something with every piece you like about theirs. It might be not your style, but itâs a clue how should look like.

to be honest⊠thatâs just a part of being an artist! Thereâs going to be a point where youâre not really satisfied with your style, and you donât know what to do. But hereâs the thing: copying features of other peopleâs styles isnât illegal! Of course, tracing and posting and claiming the work as your own isnât right, but tracing artists work or copying parts of their styles (like the way they draw eyes, or hair, or hands, etc) is perfectly fine. Just doodling random shapes and squiggles can help, as well can drawing in pen/without a base, making very quick, rough doodles, and getting out of your comfort zone! Something that helped me improve my art style was doodling a small sketch within the span of a song. I actually drew a personification of each song, toying with hair styles and facial expressions. I wish you luck in getting out of this slump! â°(*Ž`*)âŻâĄÂ
