I feel like something Gwynriel’s don’t understand that a lot of long time (and some recent) SJM fans understand is fandom spaces and coexisting, they also lack being able to understand something I, as an avid consumer of various contents and media with traumatized characters (because that’s a commonly used plot device for backstories or to drive the plot forward) is that a lot of content creators like authors make the trauma a character experienced vague unless their recovery is meant to be the plot like with Nesta- so characters like Lucien, Rhys and Gwyn all have a trauma and it’s left vague on how they recovered so you the consumer can see your experience and your recovery in them otherwise it leaves the content creator open to criticism from a sect of their audience who experienced that sensitive topic- which they wouldn’t do if they themselves haven’t experienced it. Now, Gwynriels completely disregarding Gwyn’s trauma is outrightly wrong, their ideas of her and Az take a trauma survivor and forces her into intense sexual situations, sometimes extremely intense sexual situations with someone she doesn’t have a relationship or chemistry with. They also don’t understand Elriel’s analyzing Gwyn as a lightsinger and/or her friendship with Nesta and Emerie isn’t hate, it’s analyzing the text of a story- personally I can’t stand Gwyn and hope the three of them get lives outside of each other like they deserve but Gwynriel’s can’t fathom the phrase “two things can exists at the same time” Gwyn can be a traumatic SA survivor and an annoying person (to people in the fandom)- i’ve never seen an Elriel criticize or hate Gwyn because of her trauma, just that they don’t like personality or her relationship with Nesta and Emerie or that she seems self serving, Gwynriel’s need to understand their ~little nymph priestess who can do no wrong with her pliant bones and singing~ can be both a trauma survivor and an annoying person/shitty friend. They don’t cancel each other out and personally i’m worried this will get worse if Gwyn is a lightsinger in the next book because of the lack of understanding that Gwyn can be multifaceted, like previously stated- a trauma survivor and an annoying self centered person (in my opinion) I also loved the theory that Elriel is similar to Orpheus and Eurydice which supports Gwyn being a lgbtisnger because Eurydice was lured into the woods by a Nymph (Elain hasn’t met Gwyn and seems to be aware of Gwyn’s powers- the headache powder and earplugs) where Eurydice was bitten by a snake and taken to the Underworld and brought back by Orpheus, but Cauldron forbid Gwynriel’s get reading comprehension and understand that an Orpheus and Eurydice retelling would be so fucking cute, like Feysand and Tamlin being a retelling of Hades and Persephone. (Sorry this was long, a lot of Elriel blogs I follow don’t have asks on, for a good reason, but i’ve been sitting on this for a while <3)

I also really don't understand the Gwyn fascination. Here's why, in 3 parts:

1. Gwyn is very much a background, minor character. Could she one day become a main character? Sure. But right now, I would not consider her a main character. I mean, I barely even consider Amren or Mor main characters anymore, and they're part of the IC.

2. SJM isn't going to write an entire book about a minor character's "healing journey" after SA trauma. She just doesn't do that.

3.SJM is an entertaining writer, but she's not very complex in her ideas and character building. All her characters have trauma, but it's often just vague and more of a check the box thing. Like maybe she just has a character outline template like:

Character Name:

Gender:

Goal:

Trauma/Harrowing backstory: ✅

Genuinely, she uses trauma like people use sad backstories on americas got talent or something to get the golden buzzer 😭😭

I think honestly her most complex character was Nesta, and she did a great job with showing her trauma (which wasn't just vague SA but a combination of things, which made it more realistic). Even if I wasn't a fan of how Nesta's story ended with her giving up her powers, I understood why SJM wrote it that way.

But Nesta was a main character. It made sense her trauma was explored more and her healing journey was a focus.

Gwyn is literally not a main character. She is Nesta's friend. Like Emerie is also Nesta's friend. Emerie arguably also has a lot of trauma, but I don't have high hopes that SJM will explore that Illyrian backwards society either. It's all just a means to an end to her. She's not out here writing a healing journey for every faerie in Prythian.

People are always quick to vilify Elriels for saying Gwyn isn't a main character, and acting like we're blaming it on her trauma. Or acting like we think Gwyn is a threat to Elriel 🤡 They're out here claiming to everyone that "Gwyn is going to get a story! Her story isn't over yet!"

I'm sure we'll see her in some capacity in the remaining series, but I doubt she's going to get an entire book focusing on her "healing" (whatever the fuck that means). SJM isn't going to write an entire book about a minor character's healing from SA. Like I'm sorry, but literally every other character in her books has some sort of SA/abuse in general type trauma.

People have literally just latched onto Gwyn because she's pretty, determined, nice, and juuuuuust vague enough that they can use her as a self insert.

She's not a main character right now. And we can sit here and argue that "Oh she might be soon!" but then we could do that for everything.

I could say Koschei is Azriel's mate and people can argue saying that's ridiculous and I can just counter with "Oh maybe not right now but there's definitely some foreshadowing that they might be mates someday."

I'm not wasting time having discussions about what is not in the books currently.

I will sound terrible, but... I kinda wish that scene had been longer? Dunno, feels like we barely saw LG grieving over this.

And oh god, that whole power-transfer scene. I really wonder what happened in that almost hour long time period between CXS dying and LG diving. Since LG was hurt when he got the photo, and I don't assume that Vein just... you know, LEFT, I guess there was a fight? Do you think LG went feral again? Or did Vein think he'd die from his wound(s?) and just left him to bleed out?

(Also I guess an interesting thought, that all of that doesn't matter anymore once he's diving 🤔)

Uh, not how I would've reacted lol xD but then again, he said, he felt that he had a secret and that he "knew 2 people with eyes like yours", so... uh... what does that mean, CXS? (Except that your parents probably had powers, too)

LU GUANG. CANONICALLY. WEARS CHENG XIAOSHI'S CLOTHES!! The fucking cat hat wasn't a present to LG, it is CXS's!! (well, maybe he gifted it him anyway, but whatever xD he originally bought it for himself! Now I wanna draw him in that outfit lol??)

There were several moments in this that gave me Live Action feels. I don't remember all of them right now, but CXS calling LG handsome/beautiful was one of them and the "we're not even together, and she's breaking up with me?? T__T" cries come to mind. idk xD Makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

UUUUGH so yeah.

I really wonder if this is the current timeline or not. Or if we will see the deathscene one more time in the last episode?? Though "I'll use my last chance and go back to the beginning" kinda feels like that was the current one?? Or we will find out another reason why it might be the last chance...

Uh. Final thoughts?

It was A LOT less bad than I feared it was?? The blow from Cheng Xiaoshi's death scene was softened with all the cute and funny stuff later, so right now I actually regret not watching it before work lol

Animation quality was nice, but it's very obvious that the most of that episode's budget went into the first 10 minutes xD Not a complaint, just stating the obvious.

I like the new style, though I still think I slightly prefer Studio Lan's style? Can't even put into words exactly what it is.

Also I miss thick eyebrow Lu Guang =T Thankfully, at least the ending delivers on that front.

Lastly, I'm really not sure why they made this into one hour-long episode? It was pretty clearly meant to be two, with a very clear cut pretty much exactly in the middle, and two stories that are completed in themselves. I feel like that would've made more sense for the finale, when everything's going down? Idk.

(who knows, maybe we will still get that, so we get the full 8 episodes after all?)

Hi I read your rant! (I'm asking here cause I don't wanna clog up your previous post with my words lol) and honestly yeah I don't blame you for being confused about the time travel stuff! I'm also confused by it as well lmao! I like the idea of there being a split timeline after SS! And SS!Link being the Hero of Time as well would be such an interesting concept! I could be wrong but I like to think that Hyrule Warriors (not the Age of Calamity one) is the reason why everything exist in Botw/Totk. I know it's not technically canon but the game has all the other elements from the previous games and it kinda merges them together.

As for the Zonai? According to Zelda, they existed in heaven alongside the goddesses and also were gods and goddesses themselves! Then they came down to Hyrule during the imprionsoned war which takes place much later in the timeline (the downfall timeline) so Hylia and those three goddess could still technically exist!

In TOTK Rauru and Sonia were said to be the first people to rule Hyrule. I have a headcanon that all the history before them disappeared or were lost before that happened!

I believe the Imprisoning War mentioned in TotK is not the one we knew of in the Downfall timeline (before ALttP), but maybe we’re not talking about the same thing?

So if the Zonai are gods/goddesses, what’s their role? Are they lesser deities than Hylia? Were there more of them than just Rauru and Mineru? And why does Rauru not know what the Master Sword is? Can he be both a Sage and a god? And did he and Sonia truly have descendants? I have so many questions about this haha, it’s so weird

And I guess being a god would make Rauru aware of Hyrule’s history, so he would know he’s not the first king even if all records of Hyrulean history were lost. Or in case he really believes himself to be the first king it’s a huge coincidence that he’s also calling his kingdom Hyrule. Idk this whole thing is kind of a mess

I agree it’s definitely fun to theorize about the timeline!! But to me TotK is too disconnected from the rest of the lore and makes things way too confusing, I’m not a fan of that. It bothers me that the Zonai are now such a big part of Hyrule’s history despite being barely fleshed out. TotK’s story was so disappointing to me and I’m a bit afraid the whole lore has been retconned and things that were established in older games will keep being ignored.

And that makes me sad :(

she’s being saved by we all know who YET AGAIN. it’s tiresome. why does she constantly need to be saved ?? we KNOW she’s capable to do her own thing. they haven’t canceled this manga because reasons. and if that’s the case where they (jump) wanna keep it around, they’re better off canceling it while they still can and rebooting it tbh. they can use the same karma and otsutsuki plot line. it’s good. it works. all they need to do is hire an actual writer who knows what they’re doing and how to tell a story (like they did with kodachi), or idk a different mangaka who writes and draws and knows what they’re doing to work on it (like almost every manga). this isn’t any hate to ikemoto, but we know the man isn’t a writer. if that were the case we wouldn’t have needed kodachi from the start (shit, maybe ikemoto is the one doing everything which is why it’s all so contradicting and makes zero sense and so repetitive but this goes into conspiracy theory territory so i’ll leave it alone)

Fandom gripe: I stopped reading fanfic for GO because of the amount of gender and kink (usually untagged) there was and Crowley being OOC in almost everything to be this super flamboyant genderfuck being and haven't really been involved in fanfic/fandom until getting into Arcane recently. I feel a little silly for hoping it was just the GO fandom being intolerable after years of NG's pandering on tumblr but omg, it's so much worse than I thought. My favourite Arcane character has been trans so excessively it's in the top "additional tags" filter bar for his character and it feels like every other fic has him being a shitty, apathetic "asexual who loves sex" but who is also majorly into BDSM for some reason?? I'm so done with fandom at this point. The hettie "kweers" were never good at writing gay characters or ships to begin with but at least they used to try. Those days seem long gone across fandoms now. I've been avoiding reading for my Arcane OTP lesbian ship because of the actual dread of how much magical real dick strap and abuse there is going to be. Even trying to read something soft and fluffy for them made me cringe because of how unavoidably heterosexual it was.

I gave up on fanfiction too for the same reasons. With GO, the characters are always horribly OOC and for some reason super kinky despite being old men who can barely even brush hands without blushing?

I still don’t understand where everyone got the idea that Crowley is a super flamboyant gendie. He’s literally just not that. It’s like they have an idea of what they want him to be, so they just wrote that instead of writing the actual character. Looking at fandom-made Crowley and canon Crowley is like looking at two different characters. Same with Aziraphale. And I’ve said it before, but at that point…what’s the point of even writing about these particular characters? If you’re going to change them so drastically, clearly you don’t give a shit about exploring the actual character, so why not just make OCs?

Sorry to hear about your favourite character 😭 I think that’s pretty standard for fandom at this point. It’s just a bunch of straight people (or maybe also bi people who have a weird complex about “not being queer enough” whatever that means) who think that tumblr sexualities and gender identities are a personality that make them and the characters they write interesting and Special.

I don’t even bother looking up lesbian ships because it would honestly hurt me too much to see the magic dick bullshit. It hurts enough already to see M/M couples be heterosexualised…but with F/F couples it’s just that much more personal.

I keep saying it, but my theory is that these OSA writers started out with the whole “uwu gay ships are so wrong and dirty and sinful, I’m so bad for writing them!” Attitude. So they kind of tried to make their fics good, and although there was always heterosexual dynamics that seeped in they still managed to at least not make it too obvious. Because the whole “sinful” thing was enough to make them feel Rebellious Cool And Special. But now that homosexuality has gained so much social acceptance, it’s no longer “bad” to like gay ships. So now they have to tack on all this kweer shit to once again feel like they’re rebelling against their parents or whatever. I just wish they’d admit that instead of claiming to be gay themselves and calling actual gays Kweerphobic for thinking they’re full of shit.

So uh. Hi, I finally made a decision I probably should have made a long while ago thanks to talking a bit on Discord: for the sake of my sanity I will not be keeping up the weekly schedule after all 😔 Layton's Book Club updates WILL be posted exclusively on Saturdays at the decided time, instead of at any random time in the week, and I will likely make a few heads up when we're on a lucky week during which you'll get an update, but I will not force myself to make it happen every single week. Simply because at least right now, it is physically impossible for me to do so. (Chapter 1 Part 1 of Illusory Forest is going to be the end of me, and not just because I am still questioning if the author was under the influence of some Folsense gas while writing it.)

That being said, I believe this should actually be treated as good news, and not just good news for my personal health. Because, sure, the updates will not come out as often as I had originally planned to. But in the long run, I actually believe that since I no longer plan to force myself to only work on one thing (which has progressively been eating at my sanity on top of that because darn it this chapter is stupid and it just doesn't seem to END, + it'd be nice if I could finally get some content out that is my creation rather than somebody else's), it means that I will actually allow myself to post more diverse Layton stuff in the meantime.

Stuff like the Evan Barde post I made a few days ago, or other helpful-for-the-fandom stuff that isn't translation work, or… even maybe stuff like finally allowing myself to write SLS and draw random stuff again? Or even read other people’s fanfics and comics and AUs and stuff? (ok technically that last one would probably not lead to tumblr content but shush it means I would take time to look at YOUR content for a change)

The list of stuff I'd like to post in the future includes but is not limited to:

A tutorial on how I get my translation stuff done despite the fact that I do not actually speak Japanese. Best case scenario, this might even lead to some brave people among you to start helping me with this monumental task that is translating multiple novels and games from scratch while you're not even fluent in the language you're translating, and this would be a MASSIVE weight off my back. (spoiler alert: while I do use DeepL to check stuff and/or get inspiration, my work is NOT limited to simply copy/pasting sentences into it and then copy/pasting whatever it gives me back)

The Playthrough series! You had all forgotten about it, hadn't you? Yeah, me too.

Lore analysis stuff in general. I have a massive, absolutely insane project ongoing which is basically "Want to find some info about X? Just open that one (1) web page, enter a few tags such as a specific character's name or location, clich the Search button, and get a list of every single known fact which is related to all of your tags which is summarised down to the bare minimum fact, along with the exact source and quote directly taken from the source material."

Puzzle theory stuff. I've talked about it a lot, it'd be cool if I could finally get the stuff sorted and actually provide all the evidence supporting, refining or challenging it in one place. Above-mentioned lore analysis stuff should help with that.

everyone thinks it's Mike, probably bc of the fire Freddy causes and also bc of how Freddy acts like a father figure to Gregory, while on the other hand this can also be proof it's henry because for one, Henry started the fire, not Michael, and the FNAF 3 guard isn't confirmed 100% to be Mike and even then where do you think Mike got the burning idea from? Henry IS the one with the blueprints and info on remnant, he knew how to destroy it and probably told Mike to go burn Fazbear frights for him (if it wasn't him who had been the nightguard) and then Henry HIMSELF burns FNAF 6. Also, although Mike had his younger brother C.C. who had a similar shirt to Gregory, people forget that Henry was a father too and, in the book, he had a son, Sammy, in the books is similar looking to Gregory as well. Here's just a short summary of the reasons bc I know most people probably won't read this all 😭

1- HENRY caused the fires because HE knew how remnant was destroyed, as shown in the FNAF 6 insanity ending where he shows the s.c.u.p.e.r blueprint which shows that heat can destroy it. The FNAF sb fire ending being a reference to Henry burning the other places

2- Henry was an actual dad, unlike Mike who had only lost his siblings. Also, in the books Henry has two kids, Sammy and Charlie. Sammy, as much of him is shown in one image, had brown hair and eyes and wore a blue shirt (sound familiar???). Plus, the books have already proved multiple things in the past, like the existence of illusion disk and what they do, a bit more insight on remnant, and even William Afton's name!

3 (minor detail)- Henry is always associated with either FNAF 6 or fredbear, a BEAR animatronic. He is always associated with bears actually, his animatronic was fredbear, he made lefty as a way to capture the puppet, even in the encyclopedia he's seen with a bear animatronic drawn on a blueprint

4 (minor detail)- his clothes are orange and blue in the encyclopedia, as seen in the image above, just like the colors of Glamrock Freddy.

5 (minor detail)- Michael may still be alive, as shown by the footprints in the pizzaplex, no other human is seen bare-foot except for Mike after the FNAF SL minigame where ennard leaves him. There's also the proof that Mike could still be alive because of the blob, the fire didn't work how he intended, it killed Henry but the blob is still working with the puppet, Scrapbaby, and likely molten Freddy in it, and with William still alive in the digital world as Glitchtrap as shown in the FNAF hw 2 canon ending, and now shown with Mike, the only human character without shoes. There's also those "butters" sticky notes and the hidden room, both referencing back to FNAF SL and how Mike got exotic butters. Plus, wouldn't it be more likely for a dude who already went through death to survive a fire rather than an old man???

6 (minor detail)- Freddy and Bonnie being CLOSE friends (or something together) has already been scattered around a bit, compare that to William and Henry, Henry representing fredbear and William representing springbonnie, the old versions of Freddy and Bonnie, both being "old friends" as Henry says during his speech at the end of FNAF 6.

the part about final fusion is from the fact that the TOSD was created to "fix" systems and encourage final fusion. it's not inherently something you have to believe, but saying system only means system of dissociated parts and that you have to acknowledge that reminds me of the TOSD, and that ideology of "fixing" a system

the TOSD is not confirmed also. yes, systems more often form from childhood trauma, but we can barely scientifically know what consciousness is, how would we be able to scientifically tell if someone's actually "just dissociated parts" or actually separate consciousnesses. what even counts as a conscious awareness? i'd go further but i don't want to start feeling derealized right now lol

saying system of dissociated parts is also inherently using parts language on other people. did you not read the line? "system", meaning a group of, and "dissociated parts", also known as CALLING PEOPLES ALTERS/HEADMATES PARTS. yes, scientifically, it could be that way, but scientifically we could be not even real people. again, we're made to procreate and die. not everyone wants to have sex. we've made a life beyond nature, we've personized ourselves. why do we have to stick to scientific language even if we are disordered/traumagenic.

parts can have personhood, but the TOSD states that they're parts of a whole person, and again, encourages final fusion as the main/only way to heal, and if the TOSD is correct, and it is only a result of trauma and you're dissociated parts, it makes logical sense that the only way to heal would be to make the parts not separated... aka FINAL. FUSION. humanizing the parts / giving them separate personhood is seen as harmful to recovery for many.

Thank you so so much!!!! I'm the original asker, and after I realized how the rooms might reference years, I decided to ask you, because you're the only Vaas expert I know. I knew that you consider Vaas: Insanity as not canon, but I still want to make it work somehow!... And it's been quite frustrating.

I thought that this theory would reveal some chronological details in Vaas' life, considering we know very little of them. But everything you said makes sense. I haven't played 4 and 5 yet so I can't speak for Control and Collapse, but Insanity being set in Vaas' mind does make its canonicity questionable. It's quite telling that the visions are called *that* and not "memories", now that I think about it.

STILL! There was another vision that caught my attention and that was 1991. In it, Citra seems to carry out a ceremony (an initiation one, maybe?) for a few Rakyat followers, including Vaas. Then we can see a montage of Vaas murdering Jason over and over again, which represents Vaas killing people for Citra (in the original storyboard, Vaas was actually meant to kill various people but it was changed for the final game).

So what's the relevance of 1991? In my opinion, considering that it's so far back in time compared to the other years, it has to have had an importance to Vaas. And because of that same reason, I believe that it should, more or less, help us calculate Vaas' age.

I have two theories about what could've happened in 1991:

1. Citra carried out a ceremony for the Rakyat, as it is shown.

2. In that year, Vaas killed for Citra for the first time. The initiation ceremony is just an allegory for that moment.

1 doesn't add up, though. For Citra to have followers and speaking how she does, we can assume that she was an adult at that time, which makes her at the bare minimum 18-19 in that scene, and Vaas 17-18. But in 2012... Citra would be 39-40 and Vaas 38-39!!! They OBVIOUSLY don't look like 40 year old people.

2 is far more interesting to think about. To kill for Citra, Vaas doesn't need to be (sadly) an adult. Rook takes out the worst of people, it makes everyone insane in a certain way. We know Vaas was a violent kid thanks to his childhood visions (I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for this), and in those, he seems to be around 10-11. So, in 2012, during the events of FC3, Vaas would be... 31-32! And Michael Mando's age in 2012 was also 31!!!

Obviously, we'll never know for certain what's his real age unless Ubi straight up confirms it. But I think that this theory has a more solid basis than the assumption by the fandom that he's 27. I think it makes sense though! He looks around 27-32 after all.

Hello! I was wondering something. In Vaas: Insanity there are six visions that occur in the hotel, five of which happen in numbered rooms: 1991, 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2012. So I was thinking, what if those numbers correlate to a specific year? Personally I think that it's kinda confusing, because that would imply that for example, Vaas rebelled against Hoyt in 2012. What are your thoughts? Thanks for reading!

Hello! I don’t think I’d even realized the room numbers could be years, but that makes total sense! I’ve just watched a video of the mission and there are two rooms with the number 2012: the one in which we see the Pirate meeting you’re referring to, and the one in which we see Jason kill Vaas. The second event did happen in 2012 so I agree: the room numbers must be years!

Now, about the Pirates wanting to rebel against Hoyt… While it’s true there were tensions between them and the Privateers in Far Cry 3, what we see in that vision is strange to me for several reasons. Firstly, why is there another “Pirate Leader”? Wasn’t Vaas their only leader, especially in 2012? Has there ever even been another leader? Who is this guy he’s listening to as a pupil listening to a teacher?

Secondly, what he’s upset about is the fact they want to “take the land from the natives”. That’s an inherently infuriating concept, sure, but in the context of the story, why would Vaas be surprised and angry about that? He knows what he signed up for when Hoyt recruited him, he knows his boss hates the Rakyat, and I even believe he started working for him in the first place partly because he felt betrayed and wanted revenge. The way I see it, Vaas becoming Hoyt’s right hand and leading the Pirates is his ultimate “Fuck you” to Citra and, by extension, the Rakyat. He wouldn’t complain about their land being stolen.

Thirdly, in the vision, when he asks where the men are from, they all (except the “Leader” who’s just been shot in the leg) say they were born “here”. The problem is that, in Far Cry 3, the in-game description said the Pirates “came to the island”, implying they’re all foreigners. Also, they have nothing but contempt for the Rakyat and their accent is not the same, so I’m not sure why Insanity implies most of the Pirates are native Rook Islanders. As far as I know, Vaas is the only Rakyat among them.

I also think it’s a bit weird to imagine they have wives, children, and “normal” family lives... but maybe some of them do, who knows?

So, in my opinion, the idea that Vaas himself asked the Pirates to rebel, especially for the reasons cited in the DLC, doesn’t make sense. On the contrary, it was he who maintained the fragile balance of power between his men and Hoyt’s, and it was precisely when he died that the Pirates, without a leader, started attacking the Privateers to try to get control of the island. I think it would have been strange for Vaas to “start a war with Hoyt” in Far Cry 3.

That said, it seems the DLC’s writers believed Vaas felt guilty for not becoming Citra’s “Ultimate Warrior”, leaving the Rakyat, and convincing others to follow him. I don’t really agree with this interpretation (and Insanity isn’t canon to me anyway) because he chose not to complete the ritual, still clearly resents the tribe, and I don’t think other Rakyat became Pirates, but maybe that’s why the devs thought the rebellion against Hoyt was Vaas’ idea.

Also, because Vaas, Pagan, and Joseph are unreliable narrators in Insanity, Control, and Collapse, some of the “visions” they experience, for various reasons, either never happened or show a distorted version of reality, so maybe this scene isn’t a memory but a fantasy, a romanticization of his past and a way for him to “correct” it in his mind. It’s possible Vaas never actually started a war on Hoyt but (at least in the DLC) wishes he had done it.

Again, I doubt this meeting happened or even could have happened in Far Cry 3, but I suppose that’s why the scene exists in Insanity.

I'm not sure if it's low expectations, because there are times when he's not measured the same as Jimin in the sense that, for example, Jimin can be openly affectionate with other members and not many people would have any negative reaction towards that, but the same people would be shaking and throwing up at a, let's say taekook moment. I definitely think there's an over romanticization and idealization of JK when it comes to seeing him as a partner to Jimin, tho. Like you mentioned, Jimin's birthday live. Exactly! Why would he say no to his boyfriend asking him to help him out? Going there was the bare minimum, it was either coming to Jimin or not coming. That's what everyone would expect of their partners or even just from a friend. He posted some beach photos and everyone was like, he saw Jimin's made up dating rumour that only 3 people knew about and is trying to show that he was there with Jimin. If he really wanted to show that, he could've just posted a beach photo that actually showed Jimin in the beach with him??? 😭 Or like him posting a sad song meant he was sad about Jimin being in the hospital, that's another thing people gave way too much meaning to and that it most probably meant he just liked how he sounded singing that song.

Maybe I'm just not the type to be reading between the lines. I don't like overanalyzing and making up theories, I like Jimin posting a selfie with a V written on his face. I like Taehyung saying he called Jimin first thing in the morning. Reading into stuff or between the lines and connecting the dots... It seems too complicated for a relationship that's not even mine.

So yeah, basically I think that people tend to give way too much meaning to almost everything he does or doesn't do. Even him not posting for Jimin's birthdays was turned into something important and like it has a deeper meaning and a bigger purpose when the reality is that he simply didn't feel like or didn't care about posting.

Okay so my thoughts are still very much all over the place but these are just instances that really stuck with me, bare with me while I ramble, I made these notes like at 4am after initially reading the chapter 😭::

- Playing the guitar for her - THE SIGNIFICANCE IF THIS???? like he clearly had been very put off from even talking about it, to then willingly playing for her ?? And he bared his soul playing the saddest of notes like, YOONGI PLS 😭

- Last night in her bed - this one feels so personal like, most of their memories are in his home, which will haunt him now when he’s alone. But that last night in her own bed, like girl is gonna remember that everyday, that was pure love making, I feel for her

- Past coming to light - although were still missing a big puzzle piece about readers past, hearing about Yoongi's and how it connects to ppl in readers circle, like idk how to put into words how real it makes it. Like I guess its different hearing and seeing about Yoongis past reputation than someone actually speaking from experience from it (although we’re seeing now how he’s changing)

- Him not wanting to admit feelings - OKAY SO CLEARLY HE KNOWS WHAT HES FEELING — he just doesn’t want to actually admit it and I get why but I also dont like 😭😭 the obvious reason is they think they cant because of big bro and thats his best friend and all (im team Jin btw but slightly considering it might be Hobi too now). But ive been thinking theres other reasons he’s clearly not wanting to admit his emotions. Whatever happened in his last relationship has him like, scared now, to admit his raw emotions for reader now?

- Love Jimin and Dom - WE LOVE SUPPORTIVE, PROTECTIVE AND UNDERSTANDING FRIENDS // on a side note to this, I sort of wanna predict either Jimin and Dom alone or if more friends find out, and they willingly help reader and yoongi be able to see each other and be together while keeping big bro away / in the dark about it. The drama that could stir up would be interesting so idk how likely this would be but the scenario was fun to imagine

- JIMIN THO - im very stuck in his brief interaction with reader after he took her away from the creep. Yoongi saying he knows too. I very much need to hear Jimin give his thoughts to reader and explain himself, im so sorry for thinking differently of you Jiminie 😭 my theory here is Jimin might’ve noticed how much Yoongi was watching reader during the basketball game and also at Dalo. Probably also picked up how tense he was when that creep approached reader and Jimin must’ve put the pieces together himself and maybe Yoongi just didn’t deny it or didn’t say anything when Jimin asked him?

- The key and necklace - HEART SHATTERING OKAY, EMOTIONAL DAMAGE 💔 i really really really just wanna hope he left his key in her drawer hidden for her to visit him secretly at night or something. I wanna hope the necklaces too but I know that would be obvious to other people. I can also imagine how this might cause drama later if (somehow someway) big bro finds the key and questions why she got access to yoongs apartment

- the clothes on the bed after the shower - the first time it was on the dresser but now him setting it on the bed instead is just so !!!!!! 😭 like that’s his baby he’s taking care of, they’re so domestic, he really making her feel like “this bed is yours too”

- Last hook up at club - WHO MISS?? IM STILL LOOKING AT JUNGKOOK SUSPICIOUSLY

- Yoongis ex = im still pondering this. Is the infamous ex we’ve been hearing about the person same as dom’s cousin = the same person/reason he swore off relationships? Will this person make another appearance?

- THE SONG - WHEN I SAY I SOBBED I MEAN I UGLY CRIED, SNOT AND DIZZY AFTERWARDS AND ALL. Like the instrumental alone is heart wrenching but the LYRICS?!??? Fitting in so perfectly to the tale but also on a personal level I relate and just wow, that blew it away for me 😭💔 I added it to my playlist but I straight up cry whenever I hear it now. Im down worse than them

Sorry for long message, i really just wanted to vent out the thoughts I had and im sure many are also having , once again I love your story telling skills and just how raw and real you make everything. Looking forward to hearing more and genuinely hope you never lose that excitement for writing 🤍

the significance of the guitar.. i know. that scene will stick with me for awhile. there's a LOT in that one scene alone and it connects yoongi's pov with reader's, which makes it even more powerful.

YESSS most of the memories are in his place, but the most emotional one of all happens in her place. and some commentary here: i wanted reader's bringing yoongi into her room/bed be symbolic in like, letting him in. like y'all know how much i love my door analogy, but rooms are also important to me.

and the whole hearing about a piece of yoongi's past? coming from someone that knows reader? that was huge. even though we know he's different now, hearing it in that setting hits harder than if he said it himself or we already knew about it.

and the commentary about him not acknowledging his feelings: we will just have to see! is it the bro? is it something else? is it something that hasn't even been mentioned yet?

JIMIN AND DOM YESSS we really do love the supportive ones. and protective ones! and i'm putting your theory in the file of theories! we'll have to see about that one, as well. who knows what the heck is gonna happen now that bro is back.

LMAO we all gave jimin the massive side eye so we do owe an apology HAHA and right? there's a lot to unpack in that brief interaction alone. what the heck is up with that? hopefully we revisit or touch back on jimin since that interaction was pretty sus!

i knowwww the damn chains and key. it's definitely obvious that yoongi was totally fine with reader keeping them, but, he knows that the risk would be way too high if they were found. we can only hope but we know how careful he knows reader wants to be :')))

COMING FULL CIRCLE ON THE CLOTHES.. i know. that was a punch in the gut because of how different yet similar both situations are.. ugh. and the last hookup!!! we still don't know!!! definitely don't know about the ex yet, either. we just know tae knows. whether they make an appearance or not is still up in the air, as well.

I BAWL MY EYES OUT EVERY TIME I HEAR TWIN FLAME.... like seriously no one touch me because not only is it sad as hell (both the music and the lyrics) but it also aligns with sidewalk talk. after i wrote 3tanS, i heard the song.. and just. cried. omfg. just imagining yoongi playing that on the guitar is enough for me.
