Hey guys, gallick here! As I expand my writing parameters, I thought it would be good to make a rules post. I ask that you please read this prior to requesting, because it has my preferences, request status, and content info included. 

Please be aware: I reserve the right to delete any and ALL requests/asks that do not conform to my rules.

【CONTENT INDEX】

what is a... ✰ 『thirst』this is usually when you send in your thoughts on a certain character in a certain situation. My responses can be anything from a jumbled up paragraph to a full on thirst drabble (~250-500 words), depending on whether I’m on mobile vs. desktop, as well as if I jive with your thirst. That being said, don’t ever feel ashamed of the thirst that you want to send in! Even if it’s not my thing, as long as it’s not on my no-no list [see below], I’ll at least post it with some sort of response! See examples of thirst «here», «here», «here»,  and «here». Thirst can sometimes turn into full on fics depending on how I feel about it!

✰ 『drabble』this is a “fic” that is generally more in depth than a thirst, but not as plot-driven as a full on one shot or fic. I usually keep drabbles between 500-2,000 words. They are normally given their own post instead of replying to the ask itself, but I will respond to the ask with a link to the drabble once I’ve posted it. 

✰ 『fic』this is usually a one-shot piece, which means it is a stand-alone fanfiction work. These are at least 2,000 words in length, and I do not put a limit on them as I have no self-control and will write huge fics with no regard to my personal sanity. These will always be posted as their own text post, and will more than likely be {sporadically} uploaded to my ao3 account as well. If the fic is inspired by an ask, I will answer the ask with a link to the fic once I’ve posted it.

✰ 『multi-chap fic』this is usually a piece that spans at minimum two parts, connected via the plotline that runs consistently through them both. As of now, I do not have any multi-chapter works, but I do have a couple planned for the future! These will always be posted as their own text post, with links to the prior part as well as the future part, once it has been posted. 

【WRITING RULES】

✰ All characters are aged up to at least 20 years of age no matter whether the situation is sfw or nsfw. The only times I will write “high school” types of works will be in flashbacks, not full length fics. I always try to explicitly state within the work that they are of age - whether that’s referring to them a Pro Heroes (BNHA), Pro Athletes (Haikyuu!!), etc. If I ever discuss “dorms”, I am always talking about college dorms/apartments. 

✰ This is my blog, and therefore I get to choose what I do and do not want to write. I apologize if that means I have glossed over your request, but I cannot force myself into writing something I do not feel like I can do, because then it’s not genuine and even though it gets the content out, it’s not content I’d be proud of. 

✰ I do NOT close my requests. I feel like it’s pointless, given a lot of people don’t pay attention to the open/closed titles anyway. With this being said, I do receive a lot of requests. If you feel that yours has gotten buried, eaten by the tumblr ask monster, or ignored, please feel free to send it in again. Also keep in mind that I might have deleted or ignored your ask in favor of another that sparked more inspiration. That doesn’t mean I won’t come back to yours later. Be patient with me!

✰ Please be kind. I don’t ask that you fawn over me when you send in a request, but be courteous when you send me an ask. If you just send me a blunt ask, I might not understand what you’re really asking for, or what you actually want, which can stunt the creative process and possibly end up with me deleting your ask. I understand that not everyone speaks English well, so I try to be patient with the more forward requests. Just be aware that I am not a writing machine here for your pleasure. This is a hobby, a fun way of escapism for you and me both. The moment it feels like a job, I will stop.

『 My writing is usually male character x female reader, unless specified otherwise. I do accept female character requests, though. As I do try to keep my appearances of reader relatively neutral, I know that is not always the case. I am constantly trying to learn and evolve my writing, but reader content can be difficult to nail down with all the scenarios that I’m writing or requested to write, given that they are very specific in nature. Please be kind and constructive if you choose to criticize, but criticism is always welcome. 』

『 I always put warnings in my tags above the fic post, so please read the warnings prior to diving into a piece. As stated below, sometimes I will use kinks or tropes or categories/genres that make people uncomfortable or triggered, and I want you to keep yourself safe rather than reading my writing just because it’s mine. I use warnings, tags, and a read more on my posts - if you choose to read the post anyway, then that is your own responsibility and I will not respond to any asks shaming me for what I have written, or blaming me for you being triggered. Please let me know if I have not correctly tagged or warned a post and I will make corrections as soon as possible. 』

It’s a good story, y’all should give it a try. (Even if I haven’t sucked you into watching the joyfully sincere trash-fire that is Shadowhunters. It’s Very AU! It stands alone whether you know the SH canon or not!)

Story You Were Nervous to Post:

known subjects because that is a heck of a niche fic, it’s about an OC designed to fit the fusion setting (Criminal Minds’ BAU) rather than the fandom the other characters are from (Shadowhunters), it’s an outsider POV of the main ship rather than being about said ship... It is basically five steps sideways from all the things that usually attract readers but wow, am I ever so glad I wrote it and posted it anyways.

I love Fuller. I may very well stick him into my actual-Shadowhunters-canon fic as a background character some day. <3

How You Choose Your Titles:

For Malec I cruise my way through my e.e. cummings complete poems book until I find a thing I like and then I poke at it ‘til a line falls out

For everything else I reference the canon or do something relatively literal, an emotion or an event or a description of the main character. Sometimes I grab someone else’s poetry or song lyrics! (I like things besides cummings, who knew. Me. I knew.)

/I’m bad at titles, y’all. SO BAD. Sometimes I get an AO3 email and don’t recognize my own title and have to click the link to figure out what fic someone liked. I honestly have no idea why anyone ever clicks on my fic, I am not good at selling them 😅

12 Moons is an old DA2 game prequel fic that will never ever get any more but a few people seemed to quite like so I haven’t taken it down.

Persephone Rising is a Mass Effect collaborative fic, and my two co-authors and I just cannot seem to line up for writing together again, so it probably won’t ever get any more, but you never know. Life is weird. It could happen.

Next is if broken hearts were whole, (Malec soulmarks fic!) which I am still working on but I’m not going to post again until it’s all done. (To avoid more things like those first two.)

And last is i am for you, my epistolary!fluff fic! I posted a chapter for it last week and it’s actually pretty close to the end? Should only be a couple more chapters, I just have to, you know, actually write them.

More Clizzy post-canon fic. It appears to be turning into ficlets rather than a long-fic, but IDK, we’ll see what happens.

I also have a wing!fic that is remarkably about politics more than wings, some relationship reconciliation/Pandemonium Porn, a s3 retelling/sequel to with an if in its soul, mer!Alec sequels, priest!kink, a weird mafia/procedural/omegaverse thing that was SUPPOSED to be a sex!farce and isn’t cooperating, a Practical Magic thing I want to do for Halloween and MANY MANY Shadowhunters CODAS/FICLETS.

And maybe some day I’ll dig the Persuasion!AU or the pro-bono-porn or the sequel to out of some dreaming tree out of the archive and try them again. Or some #7kpp fic, or the Code: Realize and Scarecrow & Mrs. King epilogues I started!

My brain is full of possibilities. I don’t actually finish a lot of them though, clearly. 😳😅🙃

Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write

Malec Arranged Marriage AU. I did a twitter thread on why I like this particular trope, like, literally two years ago and then I tried to write it for the 3b countdown thing but realized very quickly that it was going to be MUCH TOO BIG to finish in time, and started something else (Pandemonium Porn iirc?) which also didn’t cooperate, and then I finally managed i cannot touch because they are too near instead! And now I’ve pulled the Arranged Marriage back out for the @wipbigbang​ this year so HOPEFULLY YOU WILL ALL SEE IT AT LAST IN AUGUST.

Yeah, I was there for that 2 years ago, Mao was definitely an adult at the time, she threatened to doxx and out me several times, at one point last summer she and her gf tracked me down on a dragon age discord server (in violation of server rules) to tag-team me and threaten to doxx me, she basically started the dovecourse, and I know she was also harassing these people at the time. Nobody ever got reported to ICE; the screenshots were used as a threat in self-defense and defense of her other victims because Tumblr wasn't doing shit about her harassment despite multiple reports. (Blocking her didn't work—she'd stalk people anyway.) And then she always makes her blog unsearchable so it's difficult to prove she did anything.

As for Mao getting doxxed, she claims it was "a white aroace" who doxxed her to stormfront but gives absolutely no evidence. I think it's just hate-based libel. I think it just happened because she was stupid enough to tell everyone her real name while bragging about being nebulously antifa or maybe one of her victims doxxed her on a small scale and an actual Nazi saw it. That or it was someone who knew her IRL, because she once posted something about someone getting her number even though she'd changed it after the doxxing. I have no idea if any of her sob stories are even true, though I concede it's likely she got doxxed because she tells everyone who she is basically without prompting and her main hobby is being an ulcerated festering dick to people.

Oh, and there's the whole business with her ex? girlfriend, where this person was an inclusionist until she had a private conversation with Mao, and then suddenly became an exclusionist and started dating her. Since it was a private conversation, I have no idea what exactly happened, but it scared me enough to make me avoid having one-on-one conversations with her when she requested it once. (At least, until she cornered me in a public server.) I know of at least one other inclusionist who suddenly shut up about her completely, but fortunately didn't also start dating her, after a similar private conversation. I suspect she manipulated her ex-girlfriend and threatened the other inclusionist, though again, I can't prove anything because I wasn't there for those conversations, and all the receipts I do have on her are not on my phone (which I'm typing from), and I'd really rather not be targeted again.

I will, however, repeat that @christopherokamoto didn't doxx anyone and didn't report anyone to ICE, and merely took screenshots of a purely legal wrong as leverage over Mao because the people who were supposed to be protecting him and others from her harassment (tumblr staff) were doing nothing about it. He did not want any harm done to her; he just wanted her to stop. Likely, based on my own experience with her, she had already, privately threatened him with worse. I don't blame him.

Oh, bonus points, she has repeatedly misgendered me and claims that being expected to use they pronouns in text conversations is racist bc she's an ESL speaker. It's complete bullshit; she's fluent in writing. She just wants to portray me as an evil male attacking an innocent lesbian by calling me "he" all the time. (And she wants an excuse to call other nb people cishet, which is easier to do with binary pronouns.) When I called her on it, she deliberately misstated what I'd majored in to make it look like I hadn't been studying multiple foreign languages for (at that point) 9 or 10 years and knew what I was talking about wrt grammar use expectations. So she's extremely manipulative and transphobic. Avoid her. Block, don't interact. If you contradict her, she stalks you.

Tbh???? I don’t have the fuckn time to pick and choose who can come to pride or use the acronym lgbt+. I got like, actual problems. Like bigots who wanna kill me and stuff. And money. Anyway happy pride, if you say you’re LGBT+, you don’t wanna hurt anyone, and you ID as lgbt+ in some way, I believe you because who has the fuckn time to examine everyone’s identity? I’m busy. I have a cat to feed.
