"prince carlos. your highness," she addresses him, equal parts amused and disdainful, clearly holding no esteem nor reverence for the honorific. "you're a long way from your palace." she sees him for what he is, for what she saw all those years ago on her only trip to the capital—a child in fine silks smiling at the crowds from a gold and red carriage, and those big brown eyes that have never had to beg for food. or for his life. "an usurper sits on my throne," he speaks. at his words, the guard dog presses his blade harder against the fallen heir's neck, but carlos only steels himself, facing the mercenary queen dead in the eye. she knows this, of course—rumors of a coup and a crown prince on the run are worth a king's ransom. "I came to you to take my kingdom back. your manpower... in exchange for my riches." murmurs rise from the crowd, some outraged, others perplexed, but without so much as a gesture she has the assembly quiet as soon as she speaks. "a bold offer." "I am a bold man." she stares him down a moment longer, reading the very fires of grit in his soul. the candid face of a man who still believes there's such a thing as a noble death. "speak, your highness. I'm listening."

Before anyone says anything about the PU "why didn't they replace it?" chances are results with a used PU will be better this weekend than taking a 10 second grid penalty at the end of the season during the race that may decide the constructors.

Yes a full recovery drive is always possible, but it's a much bigger risk then running on an older PU and being able to finish somewhere inside the top 5 most likely.

Is that fun for wanting to go for the win? No. But there's more logic behind the choice not to change the PU.

For Leclerc, the horror show began with a power unit problem that cost him 80 horsepower and over half a second per lap.

Leclerc consequently had no chance of pushing to the front. However, his mechanics were not going to let this or the wet weather conditions get their spirits down. And when Leclerc came in to fit new intermediates during the safety car deployment on lap 25, the service time was really fast at 2.29 seconds. On lap 28, Leclerc pitted again, but this time was kept standing for 24.19 seconds, for which the crew were not to blame.

Instead, Leclerc carried out a hard reset with the help of the team, restarted the car and all the systems, which actually seemed to have got rid of his power unit problem. However, he had now lost a huge amount of time and was trailing in last place. Ferrari decided to take a gamble and sent him back out onto the track on hard slicks. But a brief rain shower ruined Leclerc’s last hopes of a comeback. Even a further tire change back to intermediates on lap 31 was unable to save his race. The speed of the pit service – 2.1 seconds – was however enough to secure the team the DHL Fastest Pit Stop.

Leclerc then drove another nine laps, trailing the leader by a full lap, before parking his car. “I knew that, with the problem, we would finish the race outside the points, so we had to try something with slicks,” he said, fending off criticism of the team. ”I was more frustrated by the whole situation with the engine. If we had managed to sort it out, we might have been in with a chance to maybe finish ninth or tenth.”
