#i appreciate what they tried to do with the prequels but! i don't want to erase the obvious evidence that john put the boys through.

also i shouldn't talk about the way that despite the emotional, physical, and mental abuse that dean has endured throughout his entire childhood, there's still that part of him that will be entirely loyal to his father and will do anything that will make his father proud of him, even if it is just for a mere few minutes. which is why the impala is so dear to him, especially in the first season, because dean only simply started to drive the impala on his own as his own for a short period of time. it's shown in the pilot episode when sam asks dean "dad let you hunt on your own?" "i'm twenty six, dude."
it's not uncommon for those who are victims of abuse to still be completely loyal to a fault to their abusers; because growing up, dean will always try to find a way to make john proud of him or to just SEE him, and that still bleeds into his adulthood. in john's disappearance, and purposely keeping his boys in the dark, dean starts to break some of his old habits, but we find out in SHADOWS that dean will still revert to his old ways and be the soldier that john shaped him into.

filling the void (4) II a.putellas x sister!reader
you looked up from your coffee as the front door opened, your sister walking through and pulling her headphones down around her neck clearly having gone for a run.
"bon dia hermana." she greeted as you only nodded, sipping on your coffee and breathing a small sigh of relief when alexia headed toward her bedroom.
when she returned a few minutes later her headphones were gone and she'd taken off her runners, padding her way into the kitchen to make herself a coffee and start breakfast.
as you sat at the bench drifting away into your own world alexia was stuck in her head just as much as you were, between worries for eli and worries for you her mind was a mess, only worsening after your confession last night.
a confession which you were praying to every and all god that alexia wouldn't bring up, already incredibly embarrassed about your outburst at the hospital you didn't think you'd handle having to confront anything else head on right now.
olga could sense the tension in the room before she even entered, needing to head off to madrid for a few days for work she'd spent most of this morning worrying about what might happen while she was away but alexia had been firm that it was important she still go.
"hola pequeña." the older girl greeted you as you sent her a smile, alexia glancing over her shoulder in surprise when you didn't make any comment on the use of the nickname, though really she should figure she'd lost the right to battle you about that anyway with her behavior lately.
"amor you called jona sí?" olga murmered, alexia nodding and stealing a kiss when you weren't looking as if you were still a child, the captain having taken the next two days off from training to make sure she was around with everything going on.
"two days, more if i need them." alexia murmured, olga smiling appreciatively knowing how hard it was for her girlfriend to take time off, her work ethic just as dangerous as it was admirable at times.
both girls turned their heads as you awkwardly cleared your throat, alexia wordlessly raising an eyebrow as your fingers drummed anxiously against the ceramic walls of the coffee mug clenched tightly in hand, the beverage itself now long gone luke warm.
"can you take me home please? i have work at nine." you asked quietly, alexia hesitating for a moment as if unsure of a response. "you don't want to come to the hospital?" your sister asked carefully, olgas hand moving to rest on top of hers on the counter.
"i have to work." you answered again, a little firmer this time. "hermana if you call your boss and explain i am sure that-" alexia tried again as you shook your head. "i have to work. i have my routine and i need to be home to follow it, all my things are there. alexia can you please take me home?" you stood abruptly, jaw clenched as you smoothed out the clothes you'd been wearing for the last near twelve hours.
as alexia opened her mouth her girlfriend gently tapped a finger against her knuckles in a silent warning. "i can take you on my way to the gym nena." olga stepped in with a smile as you nodded, alexia watching you hurry away to the bedroom to grab your phone and house keys.
"why does she not want to-" alexia frowned as her girlfriend shook her head, cutting her off. "leave it ale. you need what you need, and fresa needs what fresa needs." olga warned softly, hand tracing the catalan's sharp jawline which tensed but none the less the blonde nodded.
"do you want-" "i'll cook something when i get back before my flight mi vida, go see your mami." olga kissed her cheek, alexia sending her a small smile and pecking her lips a few times in silent appreciation before you returned.
"ready to go?"
~
"-no there's still no update, she's still not really awake yet and she's still on the ventilator." alexia explained with a sigh, on her way back to the car and on the phone for what felt like the hundredth time today, having swallowed the bullet and starting to reach out to close family members to let them know what happened.
"tía i promise as soon as she is awake and less high risk i will call you right away, for now she is not allowed many visitors. alba and i only saw her for a few minutes today and we were waiting for hours." alexia fished her keys out of her pocket and hummed, the rapid spanish on the other end of the line the same thing she'd heard all day.
"sí fresa is okay, alba and i are looking after her." alexia spoke on autopilot despite the way the words felt like ashes in her mouth, an incoming call having her rapidly finish up the conversation, abruptly hanging up and clicking accept.
"hola hermana." alexia sighed tiredly, holding the phone between her ear and shoulder as she paid for her parking and rolled her eyes at the high price but tapping her card none the less.
"were you picking fresa up from work?" alba asked, a slight worry to her tone as alexia frowned, stopping in her tracks. "no. she said you were picking her up, olga dropped her off this morning." alexia answered, hurrying to her car.
"well thats what i thought too. but i am here, the clinic is closed and she is not here, nobody is." alba replied, having left the hospital a couple of hours ago. "mierda. maybe she took the bus? i can go past mami's house now to check if she is there." alexia decided, promising to keep alba in the loop as she hurried out of the parking garage.
alexia wasn't sure to be relieved or annoyed when she pulled into the driveway and noticed the house lights were on, the blurred shadows of a figure moving behind the drawn curtains could be just faintly seen.
knocking on the front door a few times alexia tapped her foot, frowning when the door only opened a slight crack and your head poked out. "what?" you asked, a little bluntly as your sister seemed taken aback.
"alba went to pick you up from work and you were not there, we were worried." alexia started as you rolled your eyes, still refusing to open the door properly. "i finish early on mondays." you answered.
"oh, i didn't know." your sister frowned as you scoffed slightly. "why would you alexia? i'm surprised you both even know where i work." the older girls cheeks flushed a little with warmth.
"hermanita-" 'don't, please." you cut her off before she could speak, not in the mood for the conversation you knew she'd want to start right now.
"pack a bag then, you can stay with me again tonight." your sister forced a smile as you gave her an odd look as if she'd grown a second head. "why?" though when all you received in response was a knowing look, your eyes rolled once more.
"alexia, go home. i am fine here by myself, i have work tomorrow again and i already told you i have a routine." you sighed trying to close the door, frustration growing as the blondes foot wedged in the way.
"then i will stay here, i still have some things in my room." the girl persisted as you shook your head. "you don't need to, and i don't want you to." you replied sharply, though you winced as something thudded behind you.
"oh but you are fine by yourself? who is here with you." alexia's demeanor switched as you kicked at her foot and attempted to shove the door closed but to no avail as your sister easily overpowered your attempts and pushed it open, nearly sending you to the floor as she marched in like a mad woman.
"who is that!?"
you scrambled to your feet and quickly snatched up the four year old who went running toward your sister, sitting her on your hip as alexia stared at you wide eyed and in shock.
"whose niña is this?" alexia stammered out as you sighed and closed the front door. "this is sofía." you introduced, alexia's face softening a little at the shy gap toothed smile the small girl gave her.
"sof this is alexia, she's mi hermana." you introduced back, alexia giving a small wave and melting even further at the way sofía tucked her head into your neck. "since when are you shy pequeña?" you teased, a giggle sounding as you poked at her stomach.
"okay sof, how about you go watch your show while i finish dinner and talk to alexia. if you need anything you come get me or just yell out, vale?" you placed her back down as she immediately hid behind your leg, peeking out at alexia who gave her another wave.
"vale." the four year old chirped, tugging on the hem of your shorts as you bent down to her level, something whispered in your ear making you laugh and tickle her again as she giggled and raced back off to the living room.
"she's one of my friends daughters, her baby sitters sick so i offered to watch her." you explained to your sister who nodded, a little dumbfounded as she followed you back to the kitchen.
"have you been here alone with her all day?" alexia asked with an air of concern as you stirred whatever you were cooking, which your sister wouldn't deny smelt leagues better than anything she made herself these days.
"no, just a couple hours. elena does night school monday through wednesday to get her doctorate, whenever her baby sitter isn't free i watch sofía. normally i'd go to her house but with everyone going on she thought it might be better if i had sof here." you spoke quietly, glancing over your shoulder every couple of minutes to check in on the tiny brunette giggling away at a brightly coloured kids show on screen.
"you look after her by yourself?" alexia asked, shock hardly disguised as you rolled your eyes moving the sauce off the heat and huffing.
"yes alexia, believe it or not i can keep another human being alive for a few hours. i've had enough practice looking after myself!" you snapped, pausing to close your eyes and take a breath.
"i don't want to argue in front of her. i told you i'm fine, you've seen i'm okay, go home alexia, your home." you sighed, turning your back to her again after you'd peeked at the living room over the top of her head.
"fresa i also don't want to argue." your sister started a lot softer as you began to dish up dinner. "you know i want to fix this, alba and i want to fix things." alexia promised as you stayed silent, though before either one of you could speak a new voice piped up.
"you're really tall. way taller than my mami!" alexia jumped a little in surprise as sofía now stood next to her looking up in wonder. "is dinner nearly done?" she shot now next to you, tugging again on the hem of your shorts as you looked down with a soft smile.
"nearly. you hungry?" you questioned as the four year old nodded enthusiastically. "so hungry!" she groaned dramatically sagging against your leg as alexia smiled, suddenly slammed back into the memory of when she and alba would look after you at that age and you too would never leave her alone when she was trying to cook.
one memory in particular sat heavily with the captain as she watched you teasingly shove sofía away and take a test mouthful of the food, groaning loudly and happily as the girl hit your leg and huffed opening her mouth wanting to try for herself.
it was another night where both her parents were working night shifts and a sixteen year old alexia had been left to look after her sisters, alba hidden away in her room taking another one of her teenage angst my life is awful i hate everyone naps she so adored at that age.
alexia had been at training all afternoon, currently playing at Levante, and received the news from the coach that she wouldn't be starting this weekend which now made three weeks in a row.
it had put a dampen on the girls mood significantly, feeling quite lost as to what else she could do to prove herself. she already stayed back, arrived early, trained at home, worked on her skills in every way possible she could but still, nothing seemed to be good enough.
it hadn't helped that with eli only recently picking up night shifts you were still adjusting to the change in your routine, used to your papi not being around after dinner but missing your mami, which lead to you being even more clingier than usual.
"fresa!" alexia huffed as she turned and nearly stepped on you as you hovered by her feet after being sent away a few minutes ago, hugging her leg and refusing to let go no matter what.
"fresa please let go." alexia asked as nicely as she could manage, temper rapidly becoming shorter and shorter as you refused to listen to a single word she said.
first it had been refusing to take a bath, hiding under alexia's bed right against the wall where she couldn't reach you and even going as far as to bite the tip of her finger as she finally grabbed a fistful of your shirt and pulled you out.
next it was trying to drown her in a tidal wave of soapy water when she finally got you into a bath, soaking the clothes she'd not long changed into after her own shower.
but still alexia managed to hold her tongue, speaking to you softly and encouragingly as eventually you sat down and allowed her to wash your hair.
but then you'd ran around half dressed and still wet for half an hour, finding endless amusement in the way your older sister just couldn't catch you, giggling and screaming with delight as alexia resisted the urge to kick you like a football when she finally scooped you up and forced you into the rest of your pyjamas, towel drying and braiding your hair so it was out of your face.
well braiding it as best she could as you'd squirmed and wriggled and kicked, whining that alexia didn't do it right and that it was too tight and then it was too loose and that only your mami knew how to do your hair right.
a full blown tantrum over your hair which took alexia a good half an hour to calm you down again had seemingly tired you out as your sister left you on the sofa with your favourite movie on.
alexia now an hour later than planned started on dinner, stress building as it rapidly neared your bed time and the brunette feared any more disruptions would only worsen your behaviour.
she'd gotten halfway done with dinner before you grew bored of your movie, alexia's attempts to wake up alba to help only resulting in a shoe flung at her head and a door slammed in her face as she resisted the urge to strangle the younger girl.
it seemed the cure to your boredom was to latch yourself firmly to your eldest sisters leg, curling around her like a monkey as no amount of shaking or begging had you letting go.
with all of that happening alexia had almost burned dinner, patience now a thin veil as she firmly yanked you off her leg and placed you down, shooing you away and promising dinner was almost done.
though of course you hadn't listened and immediately returned to hover under her feet now bringing a toy crane your papi had gifted you. and it was the small piece of plastic alexia had stepped on with barefeet, causing her to trip and a hand to shoot out to stop herself from falling.
that hand falling on the stove had meant another wave of pain rocked her body as she hissed and saw red, nearly tripping over you once again as you made noises with your mouth and sat on the floor between her legs refusing to move.
"why do you have to be such a pain! why can't you listen! i said to leave me be and you hover under my feet and trip me and do not go away! go away fresa!" alexia had lost it at this point, flying entirely of a dangerously unbalanced handle as she yelled.
but all of that anger drained from her body in a millisecond like someone had dumped a bucket of ice water over her head as she watched your eyes well up with tears, crane clattering to the floor.
"no no no hey pequeña-" alexia cooed softly immediately dropping to her knees and reaching for you but you were gone, sprinting away as fast as your small legs could take you as alexia's heart broke and she stood, quickly pulling the pot off the stove and running after you.
she checked your room first in all the usual hiding places but came up with nothing, calling out for you and begging you to come out, apologizing over and over but even in her own room she couldn't find you, worries growing with each passing second.
alba's door now locked she knew that was out of contention, and her body flooded with relief as she stepped into her parents bedroom and caught sight of your leg in the mirror where you'd wedged yourself under their bed.
"fresita." alexia called out softly, her chest aching at the sniffles which could be heard from your hiding spot, the older girl sitting cross legged on the floor and begging you to come out with no luck.
you refused to say a word bar the tiny sniffles and hiccups that left you, sounds of pain which were much too large for a body as tiny as yours as alexia's own flooded with guilt for her outburst.
"hey fresa ven aquí. nena i am so so so sorry for yelling, i didn't mean it promesa. please come out, lo siento mucho hermanita please." alexia continued to beg, leaning down to peer at you under the bed as you caught her eye with another sniffle, rolling over so you were facing the wall and tucking into yourself even tighter.
with a sigh alexia ran a hand through her hair, jumping as a hand landed on her shoulder, surprised to see alba now stood behind her. she frowned a little as the younger girl sat beside her, pulling something from her pocket and placing it just under the bed.
"fresita." alba cooed, voice thick with sleep as you turned under the bed, spotting your favorite chocolate bar sat a few feet away.
as alba noticed your tiny hand reach out for it she placed a finger on top, pulling the treat a little further away as you frowned and wiggled closer, though again it was tugged just out of reach.
this game of cat and mouse continued for a while until the chocolate bar sat on the floor between your sisters and eventually your head peeked out from under the bed cautiously, both older girls smiling down at you.
you watched them for a moment as neither of them made any move to reach for you, aware one sudden movement could be all it took for you to reatreat again.
when they didn't move you slowly wiggled the rest of your body out, reaching for the chocolate and snatching it, both your sisters holding their breath but sighing quietly as you sat up and didn't seem inclined to return under the bed.
"i'll go finish dinner." alba murmured as you struggled to open the chocolate, alexia sending her a grateful smile as she disapeared out of the room.
"do you want me to open it pequeña?" alexia asked softly as you nodded, shuffling a littler closer as your sister took it from your outstretched palm and opened it, handing it back.
as you took a bite this time alexia reached for you, relieved when you put up no fight as she sat you in her lap, arms protectively wound around you and her face buried in your hair.
"tickles!" you huffed as alexia exhaled tiredly, wriggling around as your sister smiled and turned you in her lap, grabbing under your arms and standing you up so you were both eye to eye.
"fresa. i am very very very sorry for yelling and for if i scared you, i am not mad at you." alexia promised as you nodded and her thumb swiped at the tear tracks under your eyes with a pained smile.
"sorry i tripped you." you whispered out, looking down guiltily as alexia's finger tilted your chin back up so your eyes locked with hers once again.
"its okay hermanita, i know you did not mean to. you just miss mami, sí?" you nodded at that as alexia tugged you into a tight hug, peppering kisses along the crown of your forehead.
"i miss her too fresa, but we will get better at this, we will." alexia promised, cradling your head as you nodded into her chest. "but sometimes when mami is not here and i ask you to do something, i need you to do it, vale?" alexia murmered as you pulled your head back.
"vale. sorry ale." your bottom lip wobbled again as alexia was quick to catch the rogue tear with her finger, kissing your cheek repeatedly and carefully standing still with you held tightly in her arms.
"the kitchen can be dangerous sometimes fresa, especially sat on the floor or attached to my leg like a little monkey." alexia warned tickling at your stomach as you giggled and a wave of relief washed over her seeing you smile again.
"you're just my best friend ale and i don't know what to do without you." you mumbled tiredly with a yawn as your head slumped on her shoulder, fatigue clawing at you as it was now past your normal bed time as alexia melted and almost cried, exhaustion hitting her as well.
"oh mi precioso fresa you are my best friend too. forever and ever and ever nena, promesa."
"my mami stabs people! what do you do?" sofía was now stood back next to alexia, smiling up at her clearly no longer as shy as the older girl was flung into reality, blinking a few times as she adjusted and tuned back in.
"elena works with me at the clinic." you quickly clarified with a small amount of amusement seeing the mild horror flicker through the older girls eyes as she registered what sofía had said.
"i play football. do you like football?" your sister dropped down to the girls level, the two of them chattering away and before you could blink suddenly sofía was tugging her away to the living room with her.
you glanced over a few minutes later to see the two of them sat cross legged on the floor, alexia trying to teach sofía some sort of clapping game as you sighed and dished up a third bowl of the meal.
"dinner is done." you called out, ensuring the stove was fully off as within a blink there was an eager four year old climbing up into her chair as you chuckled and handed her a fork.
"you may as well stay, i know olga is the cook anyway." you gave your sister a small smile as alexia did her best not to let a grin overtake her face as she sat down across from the two of you and you slid her a fork.
"gracias fresa." alexia smiled as sofía paused mid mouthful to give you a curious look. "she calls you strawberry." the brunette pointed out as you nodded. "she does, thats my favourite fruit." you poked at her nose as she huffed and smacked your hand away.
"when she was your age all she wanted to eat was strawberries, for every single meal." alexia added on pulling a stupid face at the girl who giggled. "you can't do that silly!" sofía shook her head at you.
"can too, and strawberry milk." you grabbed a napkin and sofía's chin in your hand, wiping the copious amount of food which missed her mouth away as she whined and tried to push you off.
again alexia was hit with a wave of nostalgia, vivid memories of when she sat in your chair and you sat in sofia's, the smile fading from her face as her stomach churned with guilt, somewhat grateful for the small four year olds constant chatter meaning neither you or alexia really had to interact much.
"alexia do you have a football? can we play?" sofía grabbed your sisters hand once she was done helping you clear the table, hitting the catalan with the best puppy dog eyes she could muster not unlike you did all those years ago when you were determined to get your own way.
you caught her eye and the slight raise of her eyebrow, pausing for a moment before sending the blonde a curt nod. "i'll wash up." you declared, dismissing her attempts to offer help as sofía pulled impatiently on your sisters hand.
"sí, i have lots of footballs nena. ven conmigo and you can choose one!"
~
you'd been keeping a close eye on the pair as they raced and chased one another around the backyard, the summer evening sun starting to fade fast as you dried and put away the last plate.
you'd like if you said it hadn't shocked you a little to see your at times quite awkward sister be so open and care free with sofía, you having caught her earlier chase the small girl around the backyard pretending to be a football eating monster.
you'd be lying to yourself if similarly to alexia watching their interactions didn't bring up any thoughts or feelings toward your own childhood but in no state of mind to unpack that just yet you squashed it deep deep down and refused to acknowledge it.
you were stood on the back steps just about to call the two of them in now the sun was near fully set when it happened.
all it took was a misplaced step and suddenly sofía was falling head over heels, skinning her knee on the brick retaining wall of the small vegetable patch in the corner.
alexia's sisterly instincts kicked in as she raced across to comfort the now crying girl but you beat her to it, quickly lifting sofía up and into your arms as you bounced her up and down.
"hey hey hey nena its okay! you're okay. just a little fall sof, you're okay." you repeated over and over, your sister watching on a little dumbfounded as you hurried inside, alexia grabbing the football and following.
"hey you're a big girl right? big girls get skinned knees! its all a part of growing up sof." you sat her down on the kitchen counter as her cries turned to hiccups and she nodded.
"its okay to cry though nena, its good to cry sometimes! never let anyone tell you you're not allowed to. sometimes tears can be happy as well!" you kept the girl engaged as you cleaned her knee, poking at her stomach and making jokes, her giggling distracting her from the alcohol swab wiping away at the small graze.
"now, i need someone really really special to help me make a very important decision. anyone?" you asked, holding something behind your back and making a silly face, sofía nodding eagerly as her hand shot into the air.
"anyone? does anyone want to help?" you pretended not to notice, looking around as the four year old huffed and alexia smiled softly hovering nearby watching the interaction. "me! me me me!" sofía chanted impatiently as you sighed.
"i guess nobody wants to help!" you threw your hands up and turned to go as a small hand grabbed a fistful of your t-shirt and tugged. "oh! do you want to help me sof? why didn't you tell me!" you teased, jabbing playfully at her sides as she squealed and kicked at you.
"i will help." the girl nodded as you did the same. "okay. mickey mouse, or goofy?" you held up two different plasters as sofía's face lit up and she instantly pointed to the goofy one.
asking her to sit still for a moment you carefully applied the plaster over the small graze, kissing the top of her knee and standing up straight away. "all fixed! i think we do not need to cut this off...yet." you grabbed her foot and inspected her leg with a frown.
"hey!" the brunette gasped as you pulled a shocked face and ruffled her hair, picking her back up again. "bath and bed." you pinched her nose as she groaned but made no move to fight, going limp in your arms as you smiled and kissed her cheek.
"i'm just gonna..." you jolted a little admittedly having forgotten alexia was still here as you noticed her, your sister nodding in understanding.
"don't go yet! i wanna say goodnight." sofía yelled to alexia over your shoulder as the girl promised she wouldn't and took a seat on the sofa, exhaling as she did so, head swamped with a tidal wave of memories, only worsened as she stared around at her childhood home.
alexia hadn't realised how long she'd been trapped in her own mind but what felt like mere seconds later a body was latched to her leg and you were waiting in the hallway, arms crossed and a large wet patch on your shirt where the four year old had gotten a little too enthusiastic with the plastic duck she always had with her.
"buenas noches alexia. it was fun playing with you!" sofía smiled a little more tiredly now, climbing onto the sofa and hugging the older girl tightly who perhaps clung on a second or so too long, flashes of when it was you hugging her goodnight still lingering at the back of her mind.
"it was very nice to meet you nena, remember drive through!" your sister pretended to kick a ball as sofía giggled and copied the action before waving and racing back to your side as the two of you disappeared again.
when you returned around fifteen minutes later now changed into dry clothes and the four year old sleeping peacefully in your bed it wasn't a surprise to see alexia curled up on the corner of the lounge watching something.
you didn't say anything at first as you settled at the opposite end, a somewhat uncomfortable unspoken tension filling the gap between the two of you.
"i assume you are staying the night then." you spoke up first, knowing alexia well enough that when she had her mind set on something it was near impossible to change it.
"sí." your sister confirmed as you gave a small nod. "you are very good with her." the blonde commented next, throwing you a small look as your own eyes stayed fixated on the tv.
"as kids go she's pretty easy." you gave a shrug, tucking your knees up to your chest. "everything you do with her, i used to do with you." and there it was.
"alexia-" you started with a small sigh. "no, fresa i know. we don't need to speak about it, i just wanted to say it. she reminds me a lot of you is all, and i miss it sometimes." alexia admitted, nervous that with one wrong word it might send you recoiling into yourself and off to your room, worsening things.
a beat of silence paused and alexia took that as a silent cue you were done, turning her head back toward the tv.
"sometimes i miss it too."
you'd spoken so quietly you weren't even sure if your sister had heard you, grateful that if she did she chose not to comment on it, the two of you sitting in silence that albeit awkward was a little less tense watching television.
alexia looked up from where she was getting some water in the kitchen at a soft knock at the door, watching you hurry over to pull it open, an unfamiliar girl just visible through the window as alexia leaned against the counter.
no words were exchanged as you lead the girl inside and the two of you returned a moment later, sofia back in her mothers arms as the girl who didn't look much older than twenty two or three loaded her into a carseat.
when she returned to speak with you alexia hadn't meant to eavesdrop and overhear, she really hadn't.
"thank you so so much for this chica, she adores you and i appreciate you." elena sighed pulling you into a hug as you assured it was no problem and you were always happy to help out if needed.
"please don't give me that look." you sighed after you told her you'd see her at work tomorrow. "mateo said you could have the whole week off and with pay! why are you working?" elena told you off firmly but not unkindly.
"i like working." you justified with a shrug, the older girl not buying it as she raised an eyebrow and you deflated a little. "i can't see her like that el, i can't." you whispered out, voice on the cusp of cracking as alexia's eyebrows furrowed from where she stood within earshot.
"she's your mami amiga she would want you there with your sisters, supporting each other through this. not stabbing grumpy old men with low iron!" elena teased with a soft smile as you barely cracked one of your own.
"your sisters are trying, sí? let them try, i am sure that they love you very much." elena promised as alexia was taken aback at her words, the jealousy which had been simmering at the surface of the comfort this stranger was providing you instead of her, easing a little.
"i know. but i can't see her like that, i can't." you repeated with a shake of your head. "why?" elena asked softly, a hand sat on your shoulder with a gentle squeeze as you shook your head.
"you can talk to me about anything chica, you know this. we all love you and are here for anything you need!" your friend encouraged gently, alexia's grip on her glass tightening as she heard the unmistakable sound of you choking back a slight sob before the next words you whispered shattered her heart completely.
"because the last time someone i loved when into hospital, he never came back."

A strange rumor went around the campus. A rumor of a person whose beauty was so out of this world that it was terrifying.
Unreal. Everyone had said. You won’t be able to look her in the eyes!
But beyond that angelic beauty was a personality so sour, no one dared thought to approach her. Those that tried their luck had it beaten right out of them and they came to hate her to hide their broken hearts.
What a bitch, they had said. Does she think she’s all that?
Yoon Jeonghan, for one, thought they were being overly dramatic. It was a strange and interesting phenomenon how gossip can evolve to add in such theatrics. It was like living in one of those regency novels his sister owned which he had perused over on one particularly boring day. Had these people really had nothing better to do with their lives? Were they trying to live in a novel of their own? Jeonghan never understood them, neither cared for these kinds of things. He’d much rather form his opinions. He had better things to do than to dabble in such frivolity.
What a stuck-up, one would say. What better things could Jeonghan be doing that puts him above everyone else?
Oh, fucking the subject of the rumors of course.
“How irritating,” Jeonghan sighed, abruptly ceasing his thrusts inside you to harshly yank you back by your hair.
You yelp, a deer in the headlights, when your neck is forcibly craned back, made to look up at his looming figure. You looked pathetic from where you were pinned against the wall, exposed breasts pressed flush against the cool tiles and your mini skirt flipped upwards to reveal the swell of your bare ass flattened against his hip bone.
“I said to keep your voice down,” he tuts. “Do you want the whole house to hear you?”
“I’m s-sorry,” you stammer out, throat raw and chest heaving.
“Are you?” He mused with a raised brow, mocking and unbelieving.
You couldn’t meet his gaze, or at least you tried to. Jeonghan liked to make eye contact, he once told you, for he loved to see your sanity visibly ebb away from your eyes, leaving you a mindless, glassy-eyed whore. You had not reached that stage, not yet, not when some semblance of your being remained clear in your gaze, dilated pupils fearfully wavering back and forth between his simpering face and the bathroom door where a rather large, booming frat party laid beyond.
He cocked his head to the side and tightened his grip on your hair, forcing your eyes back on him. He leaned forward until he’s breathing your air, and all you could do is stare up at him pitifully with quivering lips. “Or…” he starts, his lips twisting cruelly. “Do you want them to hear you? Want them hear how good you’re being fucked right now?”
You remain silent, the lump on your throat bobbing as you swallow hard. But your walls tighten around him and Jeonghan couldn’t help the curve of his lips.
“You’re really weird, you know that?” Jeonghan sighed, releasing his hold on you. A lithe finger curls a lock behind your ear, the gesture jarringly affectionate from his prior cruelty, before his mouth moves to hover over it, his warm breath tickling. “You moan loudly when I tell you to shut up. You shut up when I ask you questions. Have I fucked you stupid already? Or have you always been stupid?”
You let out a shaky breath. “I’m sorry.”
“Is that all you know what to say?” Jeonghan laughs. “A renowned bitch, known to reject her admirers without so much of a second thought, now reduced into this pathetic bitch in heat. What would everyone else think, hm?”
His derogatory spats clamored down to your bones, making you shake with emotions that you couldn’t quite place with your hazed mind. At one point, with the last bit of pride you had left, you’re irritated, and it’s shown in the twitch of your eye and narrowed gaze. Then there’s embarrassment, shown by how your face warms and flushes. There was no denying how fucking dazed and desperate you had been, that much was true, and the demeaning tone of his voice did its job of filling you with shame. The twisted part of it all is that you enjoyed every minute of this ridicule thanks to pure, carnal desire. You couldn’t care less about what other people would say about you, what matters now is when the fuck would Jeonghan move his dick inside you.
But Jeonghan being Jeonghan, he wanted his answers. His last question was rhetoric. You knew. He knew. And yet he looks down at you with cruel expectancy masked in the sweetest, angelic smile that has fooled so many, and had once fooled you.
“I-I don’t care,” you say, deciding to be honest. “Who the fuck cares what they think?”
“Oh, but I’d like to know,” Jeonghan said. He hums for a moment, looking you over in consideration, before speaking again. “But you’re right. They don’t matter right now, do they?”
You release a breath you hadn’t known you were holding.
And Jeonghan watched, amused. He wasn’t done speaking. “But I’d at least like to know what you think.”
You blinked. “What?”
Before you could question him some more, Jeonghan pulls out of you, leaving your weeping cunt fluttering around nothing. You cry out, high and broken, from having pleasure ripped away with such cruelty. Jeonghan ignores it and his own throbbing problem as he goes to peel you off the wall with a rough tug on your arm. He has you by over the sink, has you staring at yourself through the vanity mirror. Jeonghan casts a smile at you through the reflection, his gaze weighted as he drinks in the sight of you as well.
Jeonghan had to admit, the rumors weren’t all baseless. You were stunningly beautiful, there was no denying that when anyone with functioning eyes could see it. The way you carried yourself tells him you’re well aware of it too. You held confidence with a raised chin, an allure with your own posture and stance even in this vulnerable position you were forced in, looking as disheveled as you are with tufts of your hair sticking out in every direction, framing your flushed face. Your blouse had been carefully unbuttoned despite how desperately urgent you both had been for each other the moment the bathroom door shut closed, but the rush was evident in how your bralette had been roughly tugged down enough for your perked breasts to spill over. Jeonghan had been anything but kind to your skin, having left angry red splotches blossoming all over your chest; you weren’t either on his, knowing if Jeonghan had craned his neck enough from behind you, they’d find similar markings on his throat, though considerably less in quantity.
Jeonghan also looked considerably less damning. He had not made moves to remove any of his upper clothing and so he remained presentable with his black varsity over a loose white shirt. Even his long hair had not looked loosened from where it’s tied up. But below, away from the mirror’s sight, his dark jeans had been unbuttoned and unzipped for his curved dick to spring out freely, for it now to rub over your ass teasingly.
“So?” Jeonghan asks. “What do you think of yourself?”
You glare at him through the mirror. “Fucking awful.”
“Of course you’d see it that way,” he laughs, resting his chin on your shoulder. “For me, I think this is the most beautiful you’ve ever been.”
It’s your turn to look unbelieving, but your pulse rouses.
Jeonghan grinned. “Ask me why.”
You reluctantly indulge him, “Why?”
“Because you finally look fucking awful,” Jeonghan said cheerfully. You turn to glower at him but stop when he lifts a hand to trace a line over your chest, mapping out the marks adorning you with a nimble finger. “And because I’m the reason for it.”
“A little vain, don’t you think?” You remark, albeit breathily, your face heated.
“I can be proud of my work,” he quipped, pressing his smile against your skin. He looks you over once more, taking in every detail down to the last freckle, and something deep in him thrums sweetly. “And I had a beautiful canvas to begin with.”
“How charming,” you sighed, derisive, as you threw your head back against his shoulder so you could look at him with batting lashes. “Can you fuck me now?”
“But I mean it,” Jeonghan murmured and relented, reaching around you so he could press a roughened finger over your swollen clit.
“Mean what?” You ask, but you’re barely listening, not when your focus is narrowed to the deft circles he’s making on your sweet nerves.
Jeonghan guides his length between your thighs, letting it glide languidly right under your weeping and throbbing cunt at a lazy pace. His lips are still curled, his eyes bright when he gazes down at you before he’s responding, “You’re absolutely beautiful.”
Sincerity was not something you’re used to when it came to the ever sarcastic Yoon Jeonghan, and yet here it was, bleeding into his tone in its purest form. Never in the entire three months of sleeping with him had he ever complimented the way he had just now, and if he had uttered any, it was quickly followed with ridicule or said with ridicule.
Good, he called you when you were obedient.
Cute, he called you when you were crying.
Beautiful. It was new. From him at least.
It was a temporary moment of clarity in your lust-addled head as you blink at him, making sense of what he had said, making sense of the warmth that starts to bloom throughout your chest. And temporary it remained as Jeonghan led his cockhead right back to your entrance, pushing himself in without so much of a warning, and the bare grasp you had on lucidity loosened.
You gasp out loudly, doubling over the bathroom counter as your walls tense and quiver painfully from the sudden breach, but still yield around him nonetheless. Jeonghan was quick to catch you, to force you right back up with his long fingers encircling your throat.
“Again?” Jeonghan barked out a laugh but it’s hoarse. “You really want everyone to hear you.”
“I c-can’t help it,” you whined, your head resting weakly against his shoulder, warm breath puffing over his marred skin.
Jeonghan looked unimpressed. “Well, help it.”
“Oh, fuck!” you cry out when he starts driving into you with no sense of leniency, your body thrown fully forward and voice shaking from the repeated impact that clatters your bones.
“You’re horrible at this,” he cackled. He grips at your hips this time, pulling you hard against him, balls slapping heavily against your ass. He's practically pulling and pushing your cunt onto his cock as if you weighed nothing, as if you were nothing but a cocksleeve for him to enjoy. Each decadent slide of his length in your heat draws out breathy grunts from him, his head drunk with pleasure.
You weren’t faring any better. Your head is thrown back to reveal flushed skin stained with tears that drip from closed eyes as you try desperately to hold yourself up with palms flat against the cold marble counter. There was nothing else for you to do but feel it, feel his cock stretch your pussy, its silken insides practically making way for him with each piston that has you crying out more in volume and pitch.
“Open your eyes.” His hot, staggered breath wafted over your ear. His thrusts ease its pace, slowing into something more languorous and teasing. “Open your eyes and look at me.”
You whine but your eyelids flutter open. Glassy, unfocused eyes find Jeonghan.
A devious smile splinters across his face.
There you are.
“Please,” you whimper, your hand reaching to paw at his nape.
“What is it, angel?” His tone is sweet but it rolls off his tongue sharply. “I n-need - ”
Jeonghan laughed cruelly. “I don’t think you’re in the position to demand something from me when you can’t even listen to my one demand.”
You grab at the ends of his hair and rock your hips back into him, fucking your cunt right on his dick in a faster, but struggling, rhythm.
“Hannie,” you mewl. “You feel too good. Please, please, just fuck me. I can’t help it, I just - Please? I’ll b-be good. Just please fuck me, Hannie.”
Jeonghan doesn’t respond right away to your pleas, allowing himself to revel in the broken desperation you display with an amused smile and delighted throbs made inside your velvety walls. Perhaps Jeonghan should be used to this sight now. He’s seen you in much messier and miserable states, ruined you far worse than he had now. And yet he’s plenty invigorated than he’s ever been, pure excitement searing his veins.
What would everyone else think, hm?
Jeonghan thought it was rhetoric. Jeonghan said it didn’t matter.
It wasn’t. It did.
“I don’t think you can be good,” he began as a hand inches forward between your legs, “But if you’re going to be loud, then at least use my name. That way, everyone will know who’s fucking you so good.”
“H-Hannie!” You mewl, oh so pitchy, as your frame jerks from the brush of the roughened pads of his fingers on your clit, pleasure flickering up your abdomen so wildly that you could not easily bear through it.
“There we go,” he crooned, pride gleaming in his eyes. Jeonghan was much too familiar with your body by now, so it’s easy when his hips brings back its pace, fucking at your insides at an angle so the length of him glides over your sweet nerves with each impact.
“Yes, yes, yes,” you sob out like a mantra, spreading your legs a little wider to accommodate his brutality, your channel tightening around his throbbing girth. “Ngh, Jeonghan, right there! Oh my god - !”
The nectar that leaks out of you coated his shaft with an amazingly significant amount that makes the slides so much easier and louder, the wet noises bouncing off the four walls and meshing with your own cries of his name like he wanted. It was almost enough to drown out the muffled music of the party that seemed many worlds away now.
Jeonghan soon enough joined in this sinful chorus, letting out panted moans of his own. Some were incoherent but when it wasn’t, it was mostly your name, just in case everyone couldn’t tell who was screaming his name like a wailing prayer. How he’s managed to keep himself restrained and sane for this long was a strong feat in itself. Your everything put him in a trance, every touch of you—nails, fingers, and obviously your tight cunt, was a little too much, it was dizzying.
Even at your seemingly waning state, your hips somehow finds itself moving back against him, undulating with the same force and rhythm. You’re driven by the tightness both in your chest and in your abdomen, white flashing across your vision the more you keep up your pace, your moan becoming more muddled as your thoughts were. And when balance fails you, having you bow back down and lean all your weight on your forearm, Jeonghan inclines with you, his chest pressed right against your back and you could feel his raging heartbeat that very well matched your own.
“How are you holding up, angel?” He chuckled and pressed his face against your neck, his breathing hard and warm on your skin, as his thrusts become more shallow. “Doing okay?”
“I-I’m close,” you whimper. “Please, Hannie - ”
“I’ve got you,” he whispered back as nails dig crescents on your waist, muscles flexing as the intensity of his strokes inside you extends once again and remains at the same tempo. He doesn’t know what came over him the next moment, his senses just completely overtaken and all he could do was be at awe at all this perfect bliss you’re bringing him, and only him. “You’re mine tonight,” he breathed. “I’m going to fucking ruin you for everyone, angel, you understand that? You’re mine.”
There it was again. The clarity. The warmth. It all happened in a single moment.
You turn your head and stare up at him. Jeonghan stared right back at you. A completely indecipherable expression confronts another.
Where it had been temporary then, it intensified now. Where there had been questions, suspicions took its place.
Then came fear.
Jeonghan catches a glimpse of it in your eyes and for the very first time, his stomach sank at the sight of it.
But his facade is flawless. It comes too naturally before he’s fully aware—a sweet curl of lip, the faintest crinkle at the corners of his eyes. He’s fooled too many. He could fool you again.
Jeonghan takes advantage of your moment of daze to toy once again with your clit, and is relieved at how immediate your body reacts.
“Ngh, J-Jeonghan!” You keen high as you reach a hand to cup over to where his fingers flicks and pinches at the delicate bud, pressing down on him for added pressure to alleviate your own self. Oh, how embarrassingly easy it was for your thoughts to be completely overwritten by your own lustful desires, but as you have learned, it always prevails, doesn’t it?
Your thighs seize up from the overwhelming pleasure crawling up your spine; while your rhythm falters from it, Jeonghan’s is relentless even when his own breathing turned ragged and his body strained from the effort. It all becomes so much so fast; the feverish heat spreads under your skin, tightening up coils in your abdomen, but your frame is trembling, as if a chill settled so deeply into your bones.
“Hannie, Hannie, I’m going to -”
“I know,” Jeonghan grunts as his face falls in the juncture of your neck, lips pressed right over your pulse point. He can feel your walls start to restrict around his twitching girth, and it did little to aid his own self-control. “Let go for me, angel. C’mon. Let me hear you. Let them hear you.”
And you do. With the most shrilling wail, you come, your warm release spilling onto his cock and, much to your surprise, squirting onto themselves, their clothes, and his hand.
“Holy shit,” Jeonghan marveled under his breath. If he could burn a memory into his brain, this would be fucking it. Just you shivering and quivering around his dick. Your back prettily arched back with tits hardened and perked. The fluids spurting all over yourself and him so shamelessly and so intensely until you're convulsing back down on your front from it all.
Watching this whole brilliance of you, just reminded Jeonghan of how lucky he truly was to have you like this, to be able to make you this fucked out with crossed eyes, pupils blown wide out of proportion. Hidden concerns were washed away by this single glance, replaced with nothing but gratitude, pride, and true bliss. And with all that and a poorly thrown out warning, he’s thrown over the edge. A moan is punched out of his gut as he’s releasing inside you with one last valiant thrust, his cum white and hot as it spurts and paints your walls.
And poor you having to tolerate this continued abuse of your insides that pushes you close into the sphere of overstimulation. You’re spent, fatigue already ebbing into your consciousness, but you stay still for him, letting him use you for all your worth until the last few twitches of cock, until the last few spews of his cum is fucked back into you.
For the next few moments, only a dulled bass fills the air as two heaving bodies try to steady themselves. When the remnants of carnality wane, Jeonghan finally pulls out of you, your channel left with nothing but their shared release dripping out of you, beading down your legs. There’s a crack of a smile thrown your way through the reflection just as you feel a light tap made over your cunt. You resist the urge to roll your eyes at the gesture. And to rock back into it.
“If I clean you up,” Jeonghan began, eyeing the puddle on the floor, “could you help me with the rest of your mess?”
Now you did roll your eyes. “Ever the gentleman.”
“Hey, I just thought I should ask. It’s a lot.”
Your face warmed up. “Forget it, I’ll clean myself up. You clean the floor.” You move to lift yourself up from the counter, but catch yourself as your muscles start to strain, limbs shaking.
Jeonghan raised a brow.
You winced. “Can you help me over to the toilet?”
“Need to piss it all out again?” He jests and takes a hold of your arm to gently pick you up.
You sneered. “That wasn’t piss, asshat.”
Jeonghan laughed. “I know it wasn’t. But it was hot as hell.”
“Shut the hell up.”
That only made him laugh again.
Then came a knock, a very aggressive one.
“Yoon Jeonghan, are you done fucking in there?” Said a male voice beyond the door, sounding just as irritated as his knock was.
“Ah, damn,” Jeonghan muttered quietly to himself, then raised his voice at the door, “There are other bathrooms, Cheol!”
Choi Seungcheol, you now recognized Jeonghan’s fellow frat brother, responded right away. “All occupied! Can you hurry your shit up?”
“No!” said Jeonghan, but he’s quick to guide you over next to the toilet with an arm now encircling your waist; you tell yourself this was just a helpful gesture, but there’s no helping how your skin heats up under his touch. From where you stand leaning against the wall, you watch him rush around the bathroom, first cleaning himself up and shoving his dick back in his jeans before he throws a clean towel down on the floor to soak up your mess.
“I’ll leave first,” Jeonghan explained as he sauntered back to you with soap and another fresh towel in hand, setting them down where it’s within your reach. “I’ll appease Cheol first and buy you some time to clean up.”
“Is he always so impatient?” You asked.
“Always,” he sighed, “but once I explain, he’ll understand. I don’t know why he’s fussier than usual though.”
“Maybe he needs to shit.”
“Shitting at a party? That’s disgusting of him.”
“He has no respect for the partygoers out there.”
You exchange grins with each other.
Then another round of knocking came around.
“In a minute!” Jeonghan called back, trying to sound calm but his face was scowling. He lowers his voice when he speaks to you again, “Are you sure you don’t want any help? Now I just want to make him wait.”
“Go,” you tell him and wave him off. “He sounds like he’s about to kick the door open. I’d rather not have that.”
Jeonghan huffed a laugh at that. “I wouldn’t put it past him.”
Jeonghan turned to leave. Your heart lurched from your chest.
“Jeonghan?” You call out before you could stop yourself.
He looked back. “Hm?”
“Do we…” You didn’t know what to say, how to phrase it. “Should we talk about it?”
It was miniscule, but you caught his wince. “Talk about what?”
“About what you said?”
“Angel, I said a lot of things.”
“Don’t play stupid with me. You said - ”
Another loud knock, quickly followed by Seungcheol yelling. “Jeonghan! Hurry up!”
Jeonghan let out another sigh, a mix of annoyance with a tinge of relief. “We’ll have to talk about it another time.”
You narrowed your eyes. “Jeonghan - ”
“We will talk about it,” he said firmly, his tone spoke of sincerity, but his face said otherwise. “Just not now. Not yet.”
You gave him a skeptical look.
He tried for a smile, perfectly saccharine. You saw right through it.
“Fine,” you relented.
Jeonghan gave you a grateful nod of his head and made a move to leave again. You watch again with the strangest restriction in your chest.
“Cheol, you have got to learn patience,” Jeonghan said once he cracked the door open.
“And you have got to learn to be quiet,” the disembodied voice of Seungcheol parried back. “I’m sure the people passing the hallway could hear you both.”
“Well, we were trying to get the whole house to hear us.” Jeonghan spared a quick glance your way and grinned. You wanted to punch his teeth in.
Seungcheol groaned. “Of course you fucking were.”
Jeonghan laughed and finally stepped out of the bathroom. “At least I’m getting my dick wet. You haven’t been with anyone since - Oh, I spoke too soon. Cheol, you sneaky son of a - ”
The door shut closed behind him, leaving you all alone, and you buried your face in your hands.

Dr Anderson stared at the couple in front of him. It was blatantly obvious that something had changed with their relationship. The last time they were here, Dr. Anderson was sure they would get a divorce and probably never speak to each other again. But this time around, they sat close together, Josh’s arm was wrapped around Kiyana’s shoulder and she was leaning into his side.
Dr. Anderson’s eyebrows shot up when Josh turned his head slightly to place a sweet and gentle kiss on Kiyana’s temple. “So, things have changed?” Dr. Anderson spoke after clearing his throat, getting the attention of the couple in front of him.
Kiyana and Josh, looked at each other, soft smiles on their faces and Kiyanna nodded. “Yeah.” She smiled and turned her head back towards Dr. Anderson. “You could say that.”
“Honestly, that’s great to hear.” Dr. Anderson grabbed his notebook off the little end table beside him and opened it. “What happened since the last time I saw you guys a couple of months ago?”
Josh sat up straighter and blew out a deep sigh. “Where do I start?” He chuckled. “We uh- actually did get divorced, about a month or two ago.”
“Really? How did you feel about that?” Dr. Anderson asked Kiyana, who shrugged.
“I mean, I was the one who initiated it. I filed. Things were becoming too much. There was no more trust in the relationship.”
“And now? Is there trust now.”
“I trust her,” Josh answered almost immediately. He then turned his attention towards Kiyana “Do you trust me?”
Kiyana hesitated and Josh sucked in a deep breath. He knew she didn’t 100% trust him and that was fine. Like he told her before, he would do whatever it took to get her to trust him again, he just didn’t know where to start.
“And how do you feel about this?” Dr Anderson asked Josh.
“It’s not a shock, to be honest. I uh- I figured she didn’t trust me yet and I wanna earn her trust back.” Dr. Anderson nodded thoughtfully, jotting down notes as he listened.
“Can I ask why you don’t fully trust him yet?”
Kiyana bit her lip as she looked up at Josh.  “I’m not gon be mad baby. We here to get the help we need.”
Kiyana nodded, before taking a deep breath. “I guess because he’s still on the road with his job a lot and if the infidelity happened before what’s to same he won’t have that same temptation again. And he’s in this story or whatever with his co-worker and” Kiyana stopped and shook her head. “I just don't wanna go through that again.”
“I’ll tell them I can’t do it anymore.” Josh started, Kiyana started shaking her head but Josh stopped her, grabbing her chin and making her look into his eyes. “If that shit makes you uncomfortable. I will stop it. I meant it when I said I want this Kiyana.”
Dr. Anderson tried to hide his smile but he couldn’t. He knew Josh was telling the whole truth. He never routed for a couple this hard before.
Kiyana looked into Josh’s eyes, searching for sincerity. “I just need to know you’re serious about making this work. I can’t go through that pain again.”
“I promise you, I’m  serious,” Josh replied, his voice steady.”I already lost you once and I don’t wanna lose you again.”
Dr. Anderson watched the exchange, sensing the emotional weight in the room. “Kiyana, what would help you feel more secure in this process? Is there something specific that would reassure you?” Josh let go of Key’s face as she turned her head to look at Dr. Anderson.
Kiyana hesitated, then took a deep breath. “I think regular check-ins would be a good start.” She paused and looked back over to Josh. “You said last time, you just wanted someone to talk to. Let me be that someone. If I do something to piss you off, come talk to me not no other bitch and I’ll do the same.”
“Okay.” Josh agreed. His heart painfully clenched in his chest as he thought about how much his actions really hurt Kiyana. “If somethin’  bothering me, I’ll come to you..” Kiyana nodded with a small smile on her face.
Hopefully, this time around things would be different.
Tumblr media
“Yo Key!” Kiyana jumped, startled at Josh calling her name. She cursed as she dropped the test to the floor. She then gasped as the door to the bathroom opened and Josh stood there wearing a confused face. “You good in here?”
Kiyana was slightly panicking, trying not to look down at the test. “Damn Josh. I could’ve been taking a shit.”
“Key, be so fo–  I done licked every crevice of your body. Stop playing with me.” His eyes then flicked down to the test on the floor. “Is that–”
“Yeah,” Kiyana whispered, looking at him trying to gauge his reaction.
“Are you..?” He trailed off walking closer to her.
“I haven’t looked.” She bit her lip as Josh reached down and picked the test up. She held her breath as he turned it over and looked at the results.
“We gon need a bigger house.”
Kiyana's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest. "What? Are you serious?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Josh nodded, a slow smile spreading across his face. "Two lines, baby. Damn, four kids. We catching up to Joe.”
For a moment, Kiyana stood frozen, a whirlwind of emotions coursing through her. Then, without warning, she launched herself at Josh, wrapping her arms around his neck. He caught her easily. “Oh shit.” She whispered.
Josh held her tight, his strong arms encircling her waist. "You happy about this?" he asked, his voice soft against her ear.
Kiyana pulled back slightly, her eyes searching his face. "I... I think so. Are you?"
"Hell yeah," Josh grinned, his eyes twinkling. "Another little one running around? That's dope.” Kiyana nodded and looked down at her obviously still flat tummy. “Hey,” Josh calle dout softly cupping her cheeks in his hand. “I love you. And Imma be here. I promise. Imma be here for you and our kids.”
Kiyana grinned, her tears finally escaping her eyes. “I love you too.”

—the prophecy
Tumblr media
pairing: isaac lahey x fem!stilinski!reader
summary: isaac tries to fight for your life while something he isn’t able to stop sets a terrible prophecy into motion
warnings: canon typical violence, mentions of death, blood, angst
notes: completely made up villain and storyline, reader is a witch
you had laughed at isaac's suggestion at first, sure it was a dumb joke with which he was trying to light the mood. stiles had started laughing with you and it was only then that you realized that isaac hadn't been joking.
"wait, you really mean it, don't you?" you asked, brows furrowed and an irritated look on your face.
"of course i mean it" isaac nodded, looking between you and stiles, who looked less happy and more annoyed now.
"well, you have no power to decide this for us" you crossed your arms, exchanging a look with your brother, who nodded.
"you have been a werewolf for all of five minutes, okay?" stiles muttered "but we, we've been doing this for years. your hear what i'm saying? years, isaac, plural"
"i just want to help"
"just like we do" you said, tone a bit softer than before as you noticed the worry on the blondes face. "we're risking lives if we stay home"
"i know, i just—"
"you heard her" stiles interrupted, before he walked around isaac, opening the front door. "either you come with us or you stay here"
isaac sighed, taking one last look at you, before he walked through the door first.
the mission was unevenful and much different for what you had expected. you didn't need any outstanding powers, just a bit of light magic, resulting in you having more energy than usual when you came back home.
isaac hadn't left yours and stiles' side for the enterity you were there, making sure that both of you were save at all times. you appreciated his protectiveness, but it made you wonder why he was suddenly acting like this. he had never had any distrust in your abilities. not even in stiles, although he was a human and had no powers.
the next day you all sat together at lunch. lydia and stiles were discussing a plothole in the star wars prequels, scott was studying an ancient looking book and isaac was staring at you, while you read your emails.
"is there something i can help you with?" you asked in a low voice to not to disturb your friends conversation.
"no" isaac shook his head and quickly averted his eyes, acting like he hadn't been focused on you for almost an hour.
"here" scott said louder than necessary to catch the attention around him. "it mentions something about a lost relic, derek told me about it before. maybe it's that what he's searching for"
gallaghan had been plaguing the town for the past few months, keeping the pack on edge about where he would show up next. it wasn't unsual for him to cause chaos and destruction wherever he went and until now you hadn't been able to find out what he was after.
"we might put an end to it if we find it first" lydia noted.
stiles nodded, always agreeable with whatever she said. "maybe we can even use it against him"
"where could it be hidden?" you asked, leaning over the table and trying to gather a look at the pages in scott's book.
"i think malia saw it before" scott muttered, unsurely. "she saw where it was hidden"
"great!" stiles stood up, his tray in hand. "let's go!"
before either of you could agree and stand up as well, isaac interjected. "i don't think we all need to go, right?" he asked, voice only above a whisper. "scott and lydia could go alone"
"why us?" lydia asked exchanging a glance with scott.
isaac shrugged.
"i say you go ask malia, while stiles, isaac and i go and get everything we could possibly need to fetch the relic" you suggested to keep the peace.
"sounds good" scott smiled, before he nodded behind him, in the direction of the hallway in which malia was studying in a classroom right now. lydia followed the alpha without another word, but you could see the look of confusion she send you.
"what's going on?" stiles asked isaac, as soon as your friends were out of ear shot.
"nothing" isaac insisted.
"you can tell us" your voice was soft and you laid your hand on top of his, despite stiles narrowing his eyes at your movement. isaac was ready to break, before he remembered what telling you could lead to.
"i swear it's nothing" he said again. "i just want to keep the both of you save"
"really romantic, thank you" stiles pushed a hand against his chest, a sarcastic smile on his face as he fluttered his eyelashes at the blonde boy across from him.
"let's get ready then, huh?" you suggested, squeezing isaac's hand to assure him. "you can stand next to us the entire time if that helps, yeah?"
isaac nodded reluctantely, before he took his own tray and followed you out of the cafeteria and to stiles jeep.
"we have to keep this on the down low" stiles announced to both of you, as he reversed the car and drove off the school parking lot. "dad's gonna kill us if he finds out"
"well, i'm not gonna tell him, you can bet your ass on that" you laughed from next to your brother. "you won't either, right isaac?" you asked jokingly, looking into the mirror.
isaac nodded, of course, but there was a dark thought in his head. a thought that would make both stiles and you extremely angry at him, but would keep you safe.
you prepared the whole afternoon for what you planned to do that evening. scott and lydia called throughout, telling you that malia still knew where the relic was hidden and that all of you would meet at scott's house at midnight.
isaac had gone home after a while, which you found weird, considering he had not let you out of his sight since the beginning of the week.
isaac hadn't been able to stay any longer as the same thought kept on repeating in his head. anytime he looked at you, he felt like a piece of his heart was breaking off.
a terrible headache only added to the pain his body was experiencing. he sat down on the couch in derek's loft, eyes fluttering close, as sleep took over.
in his dream he was back in the cave. the cave below the church, which the pack had discovered a few weeks ago. they had been searching for something isaac was now not even able to remember, but it had been important enough for all of you to come along.
he had walked into the cave on his own, the small space not allowing company, as he searched through a desk that was cramped into the corner.
that's when he found it. the prophecy.
in the time of shadows and light, when the balance teeters on the edge of ruin, the one who stands closest to the alpha—akin to his sister in heart though not in blood—shall meet her final fate. as the heavens weep, and three lightning strikes herald her doom, her end shall not be in vain, for her soul will be the price for another, a life dearer than her own. in the moment of her greatest sacrifice, she will choose love over life, and in doing so, her death shall render her eternal, for her legacy will live long after her mortal body has perished.
isaac woke up startled, the familiar words repeating in his head over and over again. he had known almost immediately that it was you the ancient text was talking about. and it was obvious you would give your life to save stiles.
it had been eating away at him since he had found out. he could not imagine his life without you. even a day without your laughter was too much for him to bare. he had loved you for way too long to never get a chance to tell you.
isaac knew that there was a way to change what was promised, to not make you decide and trade your life to spare stiles'. he just had to make sure both of you were safe.
but how could he do that?
"isaac, what are you doing here?" sheriff stilinski smiled, when officer parrish walked isaac into the formers office.
"good evening, sheriff" isaac greeted. "i think there is something you should know"
stiles and you had been ready for half an hour and were now standing in stiles' room, studying his wall of a million red strings, that almost made your eyes burn.
"that's a lot of red" you noted.
"i know"
"red means unssolved, right?" you stepped forward, moving along one of the strings with your finger. "there's a lot of unsolved things then"
"i'm aware, y/n" stiles slapped your hand away. "you're gonna ruin it"
"gonna ruin what exactly?" you tested "the unanswered questions you know nothing about?"
"haha, very funny" stiles smiled sarcastically. "you have no sense for real detective work"
"calm down, columbo" you rolled your eyes "i think you need to solve a case before you earn the right to call yourself a detective."
"oh sorry, i didn't know i was talking to nancy drew" he crossed his arms. "i'm sure she would appreciate this work of a genius"
you raised an eyebrow. "genius? looks more like a kindergarten art project gone wrong."
stiles scoffed, leaning in. "well, if by 'gone wrong' you mean 'brilliantly unraveling mysteries,' then yeah, sure, kindergarten. but guess what—this 'art project' is probably going to save our butts, again."
you smirked, crossing your arms. "right, because nothing says 'life-saving genius' like a wall of yarn."
"whatever" stiles shrugged, taking a quick look at his phone. "ten minutes until midnight, we better get going"
you nodded, grabbing your bag from his bed, before you both walked out of his room and down the stairs. you took the keys out of the little bowl near the door, just as stiles opened it.
"scott said—whoa, dad!" his voice called out in surprise.
you narrowed your eyes at the figure standing in the door. your father was still wearing his uniform and looked at both of you disapprovingly.
"didn't you have the night shift?" stiles wondered and you wanted to elbow him deep into the ribs, as your father's face darkened even more.
"where do you think you're going?" he asked, stepping into the house and shutting the door behind him. "and you skipped school? again? we talked about this"
"how do you—"
you interrupted stiles. "—it was an emergency"
"didn't sound like that" sheriff stilinski shook his head, disappointment crossing his face, before he sighed. "go to bed, both of you. it's a school night"
"but dad—" stiles and you tried to protest at the same time.
"you heard me"
you walked up the stairs defeated and followed stiles back into his room.
"i bet isaac snitched" stiles accused almost immediately after you had closed the door. "he's been acting strange. stranger than usual"
"i don't think isaac would do that"
stiles crossed his arms and send you a pointed look.
"okay, maybe" you admitted, "it doesn't matter anyway. we have to find a way to get out and meet up with the others"
"we can't leave until he's gone to sleep" stiles sighed. "shit!"
"did you hear anything from stiles and y/n?" lydia asked over at scotts house. the rest of the pack, isaac, malia, derek and scott were sitting around her.
"yeah" scott nodded. "stiles just texted that they won't be able to make it on time, but they'll try to come"
"what do we do?" malia asked, looking between her friends.
"i say we go anyway" isaac muttered. "we can't wait for gallaghan to find the relic first"
"isaac's right" derek said.
"alright" scott nodded. "i tell them to meet us there as soon as they're able to come"
isaac desperately hoped that they would never make it.
due to him not being used to the quiet of the night, it took your dad an unnaturally short time to fall asleep. stiles and you had checked on him at one thirty, being out the house at one fourty.
the drive was shorter than expected. and it seemed that you were arriving just on time, as all hell had broken lose. you understood quickly that you hadn't been the only ones to come and search for the relic.
gallaghan was there too and he had brought company in the form of hunters.
"shit" you muttered to stiles, while both of you tried to make out where you could help best. you decided to split up, you walking right and him left, bat in hand.
isaac was busy fighting against two hunters, who looked anything but friendly. it didn't look good for him if you were honest. you quickly raised your hands, throwing both men back and knocking them out through the action.
isaac turned around in susprise. "y/n!" he breathed, shock evident on his face. "what the hell are you doing here?"
the expression on your face changed, spotting a look of betrayal. "so it was you who talked to dad"
"that's beside the point" isaac shook his head looking between you and the fight a few feet away. "you can't be here!" he gripped your arm.
"the hell i can" you tried to break free from his grip but it was to no use.
"just wait" he pleaded, fiddeling with his phone, before he held it in your direction. "i didn't want to tell you, because i didn't want to scare you"
your eyes flew over the words on the photo. the writing was old, almost ancient and not easy to read, but perfectly clear to understand once you got it. "meet her final fate?" you muttered, looking up at him with wide eyes.
"yes" he paused. "that's why i told your dad, i was sure he wouldn't let you come and i was right. so please, go back home y/n"
"okay" you nodded and isaac sighed.
"but we have to find stiles first" he muttered, as he thought back to the words in the prophecy. "you're going to sacrifice yourself for love and stiles is the most plausible option"
before either of you could say anything else, a flash of lightning momentarily sounded in the air, bathing the sky in a bright light. you both jumped at the same time.
"that was the first" isaac exclaimed with a look of horror.
"the first?" you repeated carefully.
"as the heavens weep, and three lightning strikes herald her doom" he quoted. "three strikes. that was the first. we have to hurry"
"yeah-yeah" you nodded, the fear growing inside you as you realized that whatever isaac had found was actually slowly becoming true.
"it's better you wait here" isaac announced finally. "i'll go and find stiles"
"are you sure?"
"i don’t want you going in there as long as it's dangerous" he pointed at the building behind him. "it's even more dangerous for you if stiles is in there"
"okay" you nodded, tears spilling from your eyes. "please be safe, isaac" you said a he looked at you with pain in his eyes. "and thank you" he nodded, before he turned around and began to run. you pushed your back against the wall, hiding yourself from anyone coming close.
it felt like an eternity to wait for him. you debated if you should follow him to make sure he was safe. you were scared, so deeply scared that him saving your life meant ultimately sacrificing his own in the process.
another lightning broke through the sky and made you unvoluntarily duck, as your heart began to beat faster.
"y/n!" stiles' voice called. the relief that flushed you almost made you stumble to the ground.
"stiles" you breathed, turning the corner and sinking into your brother's arms. "where is isaac?"
stiles turned around as if there was something to find. "he was right behind me, he was—"
you gripped his shoulders, as loud footsteps interrupted his rambling, isaac running out of the building. "go! go!" he screamed loudly. they were following him, three hunters, ready to kill.
you raised your hand, pushing the first back. he flew against the nearest tree, losing his conciousness immediately. the second wasn't as easy. he managed to swerve around your magic a few times, before it eventually gripped him, pulling him back and leaving him laying in the middle of the street.
you pushed stiles behind you as you tried to take on the last of them. isaac was now running directly in your direction, the hunter right behind him, which made it harder for you to hex the right person.
your tries kept relentlessly failing, as you realized too late what kept the man safe. it was something so simple, but you had never encountered it. like vampires could be contained with garlic, or werewolves with wolfsbane, witches could be repelled with ivy and his whole jacket was decorated in the green plant. somehow he had known about you and your powers.
the man threw a rope, catching isaac's foot and quickly snatching him back, making the boy tumble to the ground.
"isaac!" you called loudly, voice in an unsteady rhythm as your tears broke through. you quickly managed to the let the rope vanish.
isaac scrambled to his feet, but the hunter was relentless, closing the distance once more. panic surged through you as you saw the desperation in isaac’s eyes. you couldn’t let him die. not now. not after everything.
"y/n!" stiles shouted, but you barely heard him over the pounding in your ears, over the roaring of your heart.
isaac stumbled, still trying to stand, but the hunter was already upon him, pulling out a silver blade meant to kill.
you closed your eyes, time stopping to flow around you. isaac and the hunter stayed unmoving, you felt stiles' fingers cling to the hem of your shirt. but you couldn't think about that.
the concentration you had to muster felt unbearable. but you could not let him die. you would rather get hurt yourself than watch him get killed.
with a surge of adrenaline, you stepped forward, raising your hands as you prepared to use your magic again. but this time, something felt different. the power inside you was building faster than you’d ever felt before—wild, uncontrollable, a force you could barely contain.
"get away from him!" you screamed, your voice hoarse from the terror that gripped your heart. the hunter raised the blade, preparing to strike down on isaac.
the magic swelled inside you, overwhelming, tearing through your body with searing heat. you had one chance. one spell. but it would cost you everything.
you made the choice.
with a cry of pain, you unleashed the full force of your magic, every ounce of power you had. it erupted from you in a blinding wave of light, surging toward the hunter. but this wasn’t just a simple spell. It was something more, something ancient and powerful—something that demanded a sacrifice.
you could feel the magic ripple through the barrier of the ivy, breaking apart like a twig in it's way.
the hunter sank to the ground, falling down like a sack of potatoes, the dagger clastering to the side.
you didn't have long to be happy about your win. just as your power dried out, you felt a flash of pain errupt inside your chest and then, like it was bound to happen, the third strike of lightning broke through the sky, painting your face in horror as you fell to the ground.
stiles was barely fast enough to catch you, breath hitching as he stared down at you in worry.
you looked past him and into the bright sky, like it was a mirror of your sould that was burning.
"y/n" isaac stumbled onto his feet and sank to the ground next to you. "what did you do?"
"i saved you" you whispered. you could feel your teech being drenched in liquid. blood, you thought.
"but—" isaac paused, looking up in the sky. "the third" he muttered then.
"what?" stiles asked from behind you. isaac looked at your brother, who was looking so worried and scared. it took him a second to realize what had happened.
"the prophecy wasn't about stiles" he concluded.
you managed to nod your head. you hadn't know immediately, but at the moment that danger threatened to end isaac's life. he had been so sure, so set on it being about stiles that you hadn't questioned his theory.
but everything he had done to prevent your fate, had actually set it in motion.
"prophecy? what prophecy? could someone please talk to me?" stiles pleaded, teary-eyed.
as if they knew that something had happened, the rest of your friends came running.
"we have the relic, gallaghan is—" scott said, before he saw what was going on.
"what prophecy?" stiles tried again.
isaac took out his phone with trembling hands, holding it in your brothers direction.
"in the time of shadows and light, when the balance teeters on the edge of ruin, the one who stands closest to the alpha—akin to his sister in heart though not in blood—" stiles read, voice unsteady, as he pressed his other hand against your body, making sure you were still there. "shall meet her final fate. as the heavens weep, and three lightning strikes herald her doom, her end shall not be in vain, for her soul will be the price for another, a life dearer than her own." he looked between you and isaac.
"it didn't mean platonic love" you concluded, blood seeping from your mouth as you spoke. you could hear a cry come from lydia, as she buried her head in scott's shoulder, who looked down at you in pain.
derek had clasped a hand around isaac's shoulder as if to give his beta strength. even malia, who normally was not fazed by anthing, watched you in horror.
isaac touched your cheek. "i was wrong" he cried. "i was so determined to save you i did not even properly think"
"she doesn't have to die" stiles shook his head. "i mean we can do something, right? we always do something. if she would die you would know, right lydia?" he looked up at the strawberry blonde with pleading eyes and and unfair amount of hope.
lydia shook her head softly and stiles slumped down.
"stiles" you muttered. "it has been prophesied"
"i don't care about the stupid prophecy, okay?" he pushed a few tears away from his cheeks. "you won't die tonight. dad's gonna kill me if he finds out"
you smiled at his blind optimism and his disbelief of the situation.
"i'm sorry" isaac cried. "this is all my fault"
"yes it is" stiles pushed a finger into the blondes chest. "you knew about it and you didn't even try to tell us"
"i thought it was safer" isaac tried to defend.
"i'm her brother, i deserved to know" stiles shook his head. "i could've found a way"
"not with all those red strings" you muttered, trying to light the mood.
"what about decan?" scott asked. "can't we bring her to him?"
"it's a difference if someone's life is threatened by an outer force like a dagger or poison or by an inner force" derek explained and if you weren't mistaken, he was crying too.
"inner force?" malia repeated.
"her powers are slowly turning against her" he concluded. "they're killing her from the inside. she's bleeding out internally"
"so what?" stiles asked, "we just let her die? we won't even try to do something?"
"we can't do anything, stiles"
stiles turned his head back to look at isaac, deep anger spilling from his features. "she's dying, because of you! because you were so selfish that you didn't want to tell us what you knew!" he spat. "she should've let you die!"
isaac sank down, stiles' words hitting him like a dagger. he knew that he was at fault, that he had not done enough, that he should've acted differently. he shouldn't have been so scared to share his knowledge, not so fast to make assumptions.
"enough!" you called loudly, interrupting your brother's screaming, as you tried your best to sit up against him. "i don't want to go like this. you don't get to make this out to be isaac’s fault, stiles!" you turned back around to the blonde. "and you don't get to think it is, isaac! i make my own decisions and i will not die in vain because of you idiots"
"y/n" isaac muttered.
"no, isaac" you swept the blood from your mouth in a desperate try to free your lungs and breathe in the clean air. you could feel your time run out, it was only the parts of you that weren't human that had given you more time, before your final fate would come. "i chose to save you, because i love you"
"i tried to save you because of the same reason" isaac muttered, voice just above a whisper. "now look where love has gotten us"
a small, sad smile tugged at the corner of your lips. "i don’t feel like i’m at the wrong place," you said softly, shaking your head. "i feel like i was at the right place, at the right time. and i did what i had to do."
"love shouldn't take your life" he disagreed, clearly not accepting of what you had done.
"there's no better thing to die for, isaac" you took his hand in yours. "i just regret that i didn't tell you sooner"
it was just devastating to see the pain on his face and know that you were the reason for it.
stiles, who had been silent, his face streaked with tears, sobbed quietly beside you. his hand rested on your shoulder, his body shaking as the reality of your fading life hit him.
your friends stood nearby, faces pale and stricken with sadness, as if they were watching the world unravel before their eyes. they were crying like the night had stolen the very light from the world, as if everything had been lost.
"i'm sorry" isaac said once again, clinging to your hand like it was a lifeline.
"don't be sorry" you shook your head, a peaceful smile unraveling on your features. "i always thought i would be alone, you know?"
you searched his eyes for some sign of recognition of the conversation you had once had about your final moments. "i remember" he said, his mind wandering back to the night on your roof.
"i'm not alone" you whispered, before you looked at everyone individually, taking them in to remember.
eyes are most beautiful when they’re filled with tears, you thought to yourself. it wasn’t something you had ever said out loud, but it was how you felt now—seeing the raw emotion, the love, the pain all mixed together. It was devastating, but it was real.
you touched isaac's cheeck, catching one of his tears. they fell from his ocean-blue eyes, like the water had risen too high for the shore to contain. "it might sound selfish" you whispered softly, as you watched the tear run down your fingers, "but isn't it somewhat soothing to know, that i was loved to the point of tears?"
isaac smiled at you and you could read the undeniable love from his face. you looked around you once more, into the faces of your friends and brother.
"loved enough to be grieved" you muttered, like a sudden realisation. "not everyone can say that. so… thank you." your breath hitched, as if to finalize your fate.
"y/n?" stiles muttered as he noticed the glossy look in your eyes. almost like you were fading away.
"y/n" isaac repeated when no answer rang out. he shook you softly.
you smiled. "i wish i could've seen the sun" your eyes fell close as death set into your features, but still leaving the smile on your face, like it wanted to grant you with something, a final piece of happiness in a moment of despair.
"no!" stiles voice rung out first. in a desperate attempt to bring you back to life he began to shake you, hoping for some kind of movement. "no!"
"stiles" scott muttered, taking his friend into his arms and letting him sob against his shoulder as they cried simultaenously.
isaac sat across from them, slumped down and heartbroken. derek gripped the shoulder of his beta even harder. lydia sank next to isaac reluctantly, first stretching out her hand slowly, but finally taking him into her arms and letting him sob against her warm embrace.
none of them said anything, but they all stayed where they were, ultimately knowing what to do without speaking about it.
they sat down around you, as if to spend you company.
as the clock struck 5:17 a.m., the first rays of sunlight bathed your still form in a soft, golden light, marking the quiet end of a day and the beginning of a new one without you.
it was almost as if you could feel the warmth of the light on your face. your smile being a constant reminder that you had thought about something good in your final moment, like the first sign of sunrise at the beginning of a day, or the feeling of blowing out candles on your birthday. running through grass barefoot and feeling the earths touch beneath your feet.
smelling snow for the first time at the beginning of december, growing taller than your older brother at the age of seven, falling in love for the first time and getting your heart broken. falling in love again, despite remembering how much it hurt when it ended.
dancing with your friends after a few too many shots, swimming in the lake during the hottest day of summer. rainy days in the library, ice cream in the summer, cookies at the beginning of autumn, peace at the end of your life.
you had missed the sun by a few hours, but had met it in your life more times than anyone could’ve been able to remember.

I wanna know what your thoughts on the Jedi of the High Republic Era are, cause I’ve been scrolling your Pro Jedi tag (all your opinions are so real btw) and while the Jedi orders painted in a positive light in the PT (not that some people have the media literacy to understand that), THR explores the perspectives of Jedi of all ranks more than the films were able to, as well as seeing how everyday civilians interact with them
My experience of High Republic has been immensely limited because I've only read the three adult novels in Phase 1 (Light of the Jedi, The Rising Storm, and The Fallen Star) and nothing else, so please know that the opinions I express here are based on a very small sample of High Republic content. It's possible I'd like some of the other stuff if I tried it, but I got a little discouraged by The Fallen Star and so I haven't really gone back to it.
So my very first opinion here is that I appreciated that there's a lot of evidence of the Jedi and the Republic's government working together on issues. There's not as much of the separation we see grow with Palpatine in charge during the Prequels and there's a level of respect between the two groups as they work to deal with the problem of the Nihil. There's a lot of commentary from fans about the relationship we see between the Jedi and the Republic during the Prequels and about whether the Jedi should've been more or less involved in politics and whether the relationship was one that did them any good or if it was always a bad idea, and so I really loved the way that Light of the Jedi in particular showcased this relationship as a very positive one right from the jump.
I didn't necessarily HATE any of the Jedi characters, but there were only two that I had strong positive feelings towards and the others I was primarily neutral about. The two I liked the most were Regald Cole (gone too soon) and Bell Zettifar. I thought Regald was ADORABLE and I personally found him really funny, anyone who told him he had a bad sense of humor were just wrong. Bell is really sweet and it seems difficult NOT to feel for him, especially when the various authors seem to just delight in giving him like two to three new traumas in each successive novel. He just doesn't get a break. I loved that he got a service dog, his relationship with Ember is awesome and I think more Jedi should have pets or animal companions of some kind, it's sadly underutilized.
Elzar Mann was fine, I appreciated the exploration of someone who was struggling with darkness but hadn't really lost himself to it completely, that's something I think we've not seen a lot of in Star Wars high canon. I'm less into the romance of it all he has with Avar, I just don't care. Part of that might be because Avar is rarely around and so we don't get a real idea of what their dynamic is in order for me to root for them or feel bad for them, part of it might be that I'm just feeling oversaturated on romance narratives in general, and part of it might be that I just am leery of romance narratives for Jedi specifically.
Stellan Gios was my biggest disappointment. I'd heard he was basically a High Republic Obi-Wan in a lot of ways, and I love Obi-Wan quite a lot, so I'd expected to enjoy Stellan and then... didn't. While you CAN view Stellan's narrative as about struggles specific to him and nothing else, I personally felt like his narrative was meant to be viewed as something of a metaphor about the Jedi Council and the Order itself beginning to lose its way and stray from what it means to be a Jedi. Stellan spends a lot of his time feeling lost and distant from the people he cares about and then a lot of time in The Fallen Star is spent on emphasizing the difference between him and Orla Jareni which seems to lean in the direction that Orla's way of being a Jedi (Wayseekers, who are basically just defined as Jedi who don't answer to the Jedi Council and apparently just do whatever they want wherever and whenever they want, which really just lands them in the category of being a Gray Jedi by another name) is the far superior way of doing things than Stellan's. Stellan also expresses a jealousy over Avar and Elzar's relationship specifically because they have romantic feelings for each other which I guess makes it stronger or something. And then he seemingly dies at the end of that book and if that sticks then it's a really unsatisfying end to the character and if it doesn't, then I'm convinced Stellan is at the beginning of a really Jedi critical storyline that I am so uninterested in that it hurts.
As you can clearly tell from the last paragraph, I'm not a fan of Orla Jareni or the Wayseekers. I don't like what they represent and the way they're being used to send certain messages about the Jedi, specifically about the Prequels Jedi.
As much as I adore Bell as a character, I wasn't a big fan of the idea that he was ready to be knighted at 18 years old. Even if we assume he was chosen earlier, like around 11-13, that still means that he got 7 years of training AT MOST, which is three years LESS and a year younger than Anakin, who is supposed to be a prodigy. I personally believe that Anakin's record of 10 years should be the minimum a Jedi Padawan could possibly take to become a Knight if they become a Padawan that early. Obi-Wan himself takes 12 years when he is chosen at 13. I would only accept a 7 year apprenticeship for a Padawan who was chosen at the more normal age of like 16-18. Bell doesn't seem to be indicated to be a prodigy of any kind, so I find it weird and unrealistic that he would somehow be ready to be a Knight at the age of 18 (which is arguably closer to the age he should've been CHOSEN, not the age at which he should be getting KNIGHTED). This to me seems like it's just trying to associate becoming a Knight with reaching adulthood, which isn't quite how it works. Even outside of Star Wars, that's not how apprenticeships ever work. It doesn't help that Bell seems so far from being ready to be a Knight when this poor kid can't even jump from a tall height yet, which appears to be a pretty basic skill for Jedi to learn. He needs like 3-5 more years of apprenticeship at minimum.
I don't know if I can really talk about my opinions on "everyday civilian interactions" with HR Jedi given that the three books I have read primarily focus on large scale crises and catastrophes the Jedi are dealing with and so there's relatively little of that. I don't remember having a ton of strong opinions on it, so I assume it was probably fine and not like notably off or memorably excellent. There's just enough respect for Jedi for most civilians to listen to them in a crisis but when things go wrong, those same civilians often lose faith pretty quickly, which is a pretty common theme in Star Wars in general, even in more Jedi positive content.
So TL;DR I think the first two adult novels are quite Jedi positive and I did enjoy them, but I found Stellan's narrative a little grating and by the third book it seemed to get more overtly Jedi critical and that put me off of reading more within the High Republic universe.

Harry Potter characters that I like
In response to a Romione fan who thought I hated every HP character and hated everything about the series because I don't stan certain characters and ships, I want to mention here the few characters I like.
For me, I like a character usually if:
they have an interesting personality and background
I feel sorry for how they are generally misunderstood or bashed by fandom (sometimes I take great pleasure in being a contrarian haha) or treated by the author.
their wins feel earned in the narrative and I feel inspired
So here is my list!
Draco Malfoy + Malfoy family
I love Draco so much. I admit that I was drawn in mostly through fanon but as I explored the books more, I really enjoyed his book character a lot. He has a vibrant and entertaining personality and I like how meta he can be sometimes. Every time he proclaims how bad Hagrid is as a teacher or how Hogwarts sucks as a school, I just want to hug him so badly. I also like his parents and their interactions as a family later in the books. Narcissa is my fav mom, no contest. I just think that JKR wasted his potential. Draco is the most developed Slytherin kid and his character should have represented hope for a better future. But of course, JKR only cares about her lions (and Snape who she tried to retcon as a lion too lol) so screw Slytherins. And the NPC houses.
Black family
Gosh, I absolutely ADORE the Black family. The Black family is the most intriguing set of characters JKR ever wrote in HP. The Black family lore, the constellation theme, the dark history, the tragedy. Chef's kiss! Screw making a marauders' prequel!!! Give me a Black Family series! You shouldn't be surprised that Sirius Black is my favourite marauder. Compared to Sirius, James Potter is an utter bore.
Neville Longbottom
I often wish Neville was the chosen one instead of Harry. I think Neville's story is more tragic than Harry's. It must be torture to have your parents alive but practically dead. And Neville just feels more heroic to me. A lot of times, I hate Harry's hero's journey because JKR keeps letting Harry win due to deu ex Machina. It was nice seeing Neville gradually grow into the man he was at the end. And Neville's rage at Bellatrix just felt more visceral compared to Harry's with Moldy Voldy. I just like Neville, he's so sweet and he deserves better friends.
Percy Weasley
On the surface, I don't care much about Percy but I do feel sorry for him. Ron and the twins treated him like trash. His family just had a hate boner for him. Poor Percy. I can vibe with a family black sheep character. I don't like how people paint him as the bad guy for walking out on his family. And I appreciate how distinguished he is as a Weasley. He is the only Weasley member not to bow down and kiss Dumbles' backside like a brainless puppet. It's a shame it backfired on him but I admire his logic.
Luna Lovegood
To be honest, Luna was a nothing character to me until I began reading Druna fanfiction and I realized how adorable her character is in the books. She makes me smile and I like how she used to talk back to the trio in the beginning. So funny when Luna told Harry that people thought Hagrid was a bad teacher lol! I think Luna is the only HP girl I like...also maybe because I really like picturing her with Draco. No shame!
Severus Snape
What a beautiful and tragic character. Like Draco, Snape is such a pleasure to read. The man is pure entertainment in written form. I don't love Snape the way I do Draco, but I like picturing him with a better life. 'Snape drops out of Hogwarts' is one of my favourite AO3 tags. I love how he dedicated his life to good even though life was cruel to him and gave him a bad hand. Everything about Snape is so intriguing and I like learning more about him. Definitely one of JKR's best characters.
Ron Weasley
I hate the golden trio but I find Ron the most tolerable and the most interesting. It's a shame I found myself disliking the guy in the epilogue. People complain about the movies ruining Ron but JKR was ruining Ron in the books too. Ron started out as so intelligent but gradually JKR made him slobbier and dumber. I like how Ron was the common sense guy. Once again, Ron had to be the one to tell Harry what a complete trash disaster Hagrid was. Lord, I hate that man! Shame Hagrid's spiders didn't kill him!!! I wish JKR expanded on Ron's chess ability. Ron showed promise as being a leader of the trio (Lord knows Harry was a disaster) and Ron being strategic would fit with his chess skills...but JKR never followed through. My fellow HP critic, chicory, mentioned this passage:
‘Hmm,’ said a small voice in his ear. ‘Difficult. Very difficult. Plenty of courage, I see. Not a bad mind, either. There’s talent, oh my goodness, yes – and a nice thirst to prove yourself, now that’s interesting … So where shall I put you?’
applies more to Ron than Harry and I have to agree with her.
There are also several instances of Ron just being a sweet friend to Harry and Hermione and I wish he had better friends. I don't care what Romione/Hermione fans say. Hermione does not deserve a guy like Ron. Never did and never will. I don't even think Harry deserves Ron either. Ron does so much more for Harry than Harry ever did for him. I would have preferred if the Luna friendship was developed more for Ron. Ron has his infuriating moments but his great moments offset them. Out of the trio, I think Ron is the best character and sometimes I wish he was the protag instead of Harry.
Well, let me end it at 7, the perfect number! I can't fully word why I like or love some of these characters but this is a gist.
Of course, there may be other characters that I enjoy for what they are in the story (the Death Eaters, Dumbledore etc) but I don't care about them enough to mention them. Blessings!

⨳ DADDY ISSUES SUNSET -prequel- ⨳ ⨳ DADDY ISSUES DAWN other chapters ⨳ ⨳ DADDY ISSUES PLAYLIST ⨳
Tumblr media
“What the heck is going on here?”
JungKook kept watching the car with furrowed eyebrows. His voice showed a bit of confusion, but his face was what got you. He was ice-cold, and you knew whatever going on would not be for good.
“JungKook”
You tried to get an explanation from him. His sort of deep yet velvety voice filled the air of the car.
“Did you see my father before you got here?”
Closing your eyes, a regretful sigh escaped from you.
“Yes ! I mean, I kind of talked back to him but… I… Uhh…”
Losing the way to your words, you began rambling. Much to your surprise, JungKook let out a crazy chuckle.
“Babydoll… You always find a way to amaze me.”
Gasping in utter shock, you could not help mocking his remark.
“I showed up with explosives, and what amazed you was me opposing your father?”
JungKook tilted his head once, like he was making a private joke. Any other human being spoke to him that way would beg to die within minutes. It was only and only you.
“My life… I will end what you started. Right now, something is going on, but I don't know what yet.”
After that remark, you were not able to form a single word. Jungkook has never called you 'my life' before. That was the softest you have heard of him so far. However, the rest of the sentence was vantablack.
The white car beside you sped up and cut through your way with a loud break. His eagle gaze never leaving the man, JungKook reached for the door whilst finishing his sentence.
“Stay in the car.”
Was what you heard before JungKook got out. For some reason, the man got out of the car as well and greeted JungKook. JungKook seemed far from patience. He arched his eyebrows while his eyes were busy tearing the man standing before him.
“Speak.”
Since he was not as tall as JungKook, the man tried his best to take the advantage by fixing his fresh clean suit.
“Mr. Park wants his daughter back. Apologies ahead, but Father Jeon does not want you to get involved any further.”
Watching their interaction closely, you knew… Knew one of the worst scenarios was about to unfold. A smirk spread across JungKook's face. The unhinged smirk you were quite familiar with… And his eyes light up.
“Call my father.”
Smiling, Jae Oh turned around and put his gun under JungKook's chin. Then he dialed the number of his father.
Upon seeing the shiny metal, the panic was evident in your eyes. You were scared of JungKook getting hurt again. However, he seemed as if he was getting ready to play an arcade game.
Father Jeon's deep voice met them through the speakers. JungKook spoke cheerfully.
“Father, I see you are getting old.”
His father's cold voice echoed.
“You are smart enough to know I have no option, son.”
JungKook's tone was almost mocking. Only if his father actually could read.
“Oh you don't father.”
Maybe he could understand how serious it ended.
“But I do.”
Then JungKook directed his words at the man sitting across father Jeon in suit and tie.
“Mr. Park, I guess the drink with my father was profitable.”
The replied with a dry voice, as he shifted on the comfy chair.
“Indeed it was.”
JungKook let out a bone chilling chuckle.
“I hope Jimin loved the chrysants through his goodbye. I did not plan them for Min Ae, but if I must; I will have fresh ones ready for you.”
Mr. Park had no idea what the situation was and thought he must step in to save his daughter. Hearing those words from JungKook was unsettling for him. Mr. Park cleared his throat while he was thinking of how to respond, JungKook cut the line. The phone loosely hung between JungKook's fingers. Right when Jae Oh's hand reached, JungKook let it fall on the ground. Jae Oh shook his head.
“Such a basic move for someone like you, Jeon.”
Then he pointed at the phone with his gun.
“Take it.”
JungKook's lips dropped into a serious pout. He crouched and grabbed a handful of dry foil from the roadside. Back on his feet, JungKook threw the foil at Jae Oh's eyes. Through his blink, JungKook already caught his wrist. Of course, Jae Oh was trained not to give up.
He raised his left leg to kick JungKook. However, the pain was not enough for JungKook to let go. It only bought a couple of seconds to Jae Oh, but it was not enough. JungKook did not go for the gun. He went straight for Jae Oh's chest. Cut out of breath, gun already fell from his hand. JungKook kicked it away, grabbed Jae Oh by his neck and continuously kicked him.
Jae Oh's left brow and lip were bleeding. His ribs were probably injured. With the last immense effort, Jae Oh lifted his head slightly, only for JungKook to grit his teeth and forcefully put his foot on his cheek. Jae Oh was unconscious after all the beating. JungKook grabbed him by his neck, dragged his body till the car. Lifted the heavy body up with both hands and threw Jae Oh in the trunk.
Watching everything, you just knew better to keep the silence. JungKook still had the warm blood on his hands.
“Whatever happens, you will be with me, right?”
JungKook tried to reassure himself. The way his voice softened in the end got through you. You knew something was coming, but you trusted JungKook.
“I will…”
Those words seemed simple yet heavier than any wow. You both knew you could not be apart. The only option left was to face everything together. He took your hand and never let go till the car reached the mansion. As JungKook pulled up by the door, Yugyeom and Johan came running toward you. You had no idea how he managed to put himself together, but Yugyeom was fresh and clean. JungKook asked with such a chilly tone that it kind of spooked you as well.
“Are they still here?”
Yugyeom gave JungKook a sharp nod.
JungKook directed his eyes at Johan, tilted his head to the side of the car.
“Luggage… I am planning a show.”
With no words, Johan made his way to the back of the car. He opened the trunk and dragged the unconscious man out. Seemed a bit surprised, Yugyeom informed JungKook.
“I will get Havoc and Ruffian ready, but…”
His eyes drifted to your side for a brief moment. JungKook kindly put his hands on each side of your arms.
“Babydoll, let's get you upstairs, so you can clean up and rest.”
You did not move.
“Havoc and Ruffian?”
JungKook closed his eyes and sighed.
“My German Shepherds. Now let's go.”
He held his hand out, and you took it kind of unwillingly.
“You have got dogs that I have never seen?!”
JungKook avoided your eyes as he rushed you inside the big mansion.
“Yes because they are wild. Only two people allowed near them.”
You did not need to ask who because you already figured the second person was Yugyeom. Curiosity outweighing your tiredness, you stopped before you stepped on the stairs.
“I want to see them.”
JungKook sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Doll, that will be a process, maybe later.”
You stood on your feet, not taking any step.
“Then tell me what you are going to do.”
JungKook had enough of your little antics. He narrowed his eyes, then you were swept off of your feet. To keep your balance, you wrapped your arms around his neck as he carried you in his arms.
“Why?”
You asked; half smiley, half serious.
“You are being stubborn. We are going to the bedroom.”
JungKook arrived to the large door of the room you have not been in for a while. You shyly opened it, as JungKook did not lose any time to step inside. He slowly put you down, caused you to look up at him with curious eyes.
"I need to change."
Was his reasonable explanation since you both were still covered in dust and dirt. He disappeared into the bathroom. You heard the water running for a few minutes. Jungkook walked out, a towel wrapped around his groins, hanging dangerously low. Smiling at you, JungKook picked a sunray colored shirt and dry seagrass colored trousers. While he was buttoning his shirt, you walked up to help. JungKook's large hand cupped your face as he looked directly into your eyes.
“Now, be a good girl… Stay here, clean up and get ready for me.”
Pretending that you did not get him, you took a step to get close again.
“You told me to have some rest.”
JungKook wrapped his arm around your waist as he pressed your bodies together. Giving you a short yet fiery kiss, he whispered in your ear.
“Obviously you don't want to, so I will help you.”
Giving you a playful smirk, he walked out of the door. Within a minute, one of the maids showed up. She greeted you respectfully.
“How would you like your bath, Mrs. Jeon? I can prepare some daisies, melissa and lavender to help you relax. Would you rather some dried sweet basil and sea salt to give you some energy?”
The simple thought of warm water was enough for you to relax, but you still wanted to see what JungKook was planning.
“Basil and sea salt, please.”
Unaware of the chaos that was about to unfold, you let your body soak in the refreshing water.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, JungKook casually walked out of the door to greet the small crowd in the garden by the table.
“Father”
JungKook greeted the old man in fine suit with a devilish spark in his eyes. Then he directed his eyes to Mr. Park. JungKook looked down at the hand he held out, almost mockingly. Ignoring it, JungKook took his place as the entrees were already served.
His eyes laid on Min Ae, who was sitting across him. She cheekily smiled at JungKook as if nothing happened. As if this was an ordinary, peaceful family dinner. Mr. Park, had a bite of his paçanga pastry, then drifted his eyes back to JungKook.
“You know, your father and I have go way back.”
Still wearing his poker face, JungKook answered the old man with gray hair and fine suit.
“I know… Almost to the building of the company.”
The old man smiled back while his hoarse voice filled the air again.
“If it was not for that, tonight would be a lot worse.”
An arrogant smile bloomed on JungKook's lips.
“Oh, it will be a lot worse.”
All present at the table were astonished upon hearing that statement. Even the maids that were serving the supper. They quickened their work and left with no words. Mr. Park was the one that broke the eerie silence.
“I believe no one has such an intention.”
A chilling chuckle from JungKook echoed.
“Mr. Park… The history of our generation is a little different from yours.”
Mr. Park's face hardened as his voice drifted.
“I am aware…but my son already paid the price for that.”
JungKook nodded twice then raised his hand. After his little gesture; YugYeom and the low growl of the dogs made their entrance.
“That is why tonight is just a little warning.”
Yugyeom followed the stone path and arrived to the wooden arbor. JungKook slowly made his way to the same place and removed the cover of Jae Oh. The beaten man squinted his eyes after the bright light hit his eyes.
Upon seeing two dogs with their teeth showing, Jae Oh began begging JungKook for mercy. Although, those calls were in vain. JungKook crouched to reach Havoc and Ruffian. Obediently, dogs just got closer to him. JungKook petted them both a few times. Dogs never looked away from JungKook.
“Are you hungry?”
Havoc let out a small growl, making JungKook smile.
“Of course you are… Go, here is your dinner.”
Under the horrified gaze of the small crowd, Havoc and Ruffian ripped apart the man in front of them. The agonizing screams of Jae Oh went on for a few minutes. Then they died down while the dogs were busy with his remains.
Tumblr media
Finally regaining some energy, you stepped out of the tub. Grabbing the towel waiting, you walked out of the bathroom. Since nothing changed in his room, you made your way to the familiar dressing room. Considering JungKook's choice of color, you opted for a knee-length peach-colored dress. Fixing your hair into a ponytail, you felt you looked a bit decent at least.
Making your way to the window, you realized Min Ae was there by the table. Then your eyes shifted to the arbor. You froze as you witnessed the last minute of two dogs' cruel feast. Hand on your mouth, you just backed away from the window. You could feel your stomach started to get sick. You took a deep breath, grabbed a glass of water from the mini bar on the corner. Furthermore, you could not let that scene get to you.
Walking downstairs, you tried your best to keep calm and collected. The shock was still evident in the eyes of everyone by the table. When JungKook saw you, his first instinct was to send the dogs away with Yugyeom. Then he put the cover back on the ground. Regardless of his efforts, you could see the blood on the green leaves around the arbor. JungKook met you through halfway to the table.
“Babydoll, I told you to wait in our room.”
His whisper carried the hints of worry and annoyance. Your stare challenged him, even if you did not intend to.
"You asked me if I would be with you, whatever happens. And I said yes, Jungkook."
His fingers gently held your chin.
“I meant it Y/N…”
Then his voice softened.
“I just did not want you to see that gruesome mess.”
Your fingers slowly reached and caressed his ear before you fixed his dark hair.
“I know… I promised, so I am here for it all.”
After the reassurance, JungKook gave you an accepting nod and a soft smile. He held your hand above his as you walked toward the table. The crowd was still under the effect of not so little show of Jungkook. Mr. Jeon almost fell back on his chair. He uncomfortably loosened his tie. Mr. Park stepped away from the table as he told Min Ae to follow him. Before they could make another move, JungKook called out.
“Leaving already? I think you should stay for the dessert.”
Knowing well they had no chance, Mr. Park gestured his daughter to sit back while he did so. Mr. Park realized JungKook was far worse than he thought of. Not crossing his line was the only thing they could do. JungKook lifted your hand a little higher to place a little kiss. After that, he pulled the chair for you to sit. Silence took over again while maids served apple pies to everyone.
“Sorry for the inconvenience, Father.”
JungKook said while he cut the pie in front of him.
“Maybe you should try someone more professional.”
Father Jeon did not even try to say anything back. He just palmed his face out of stress. JungKook changed the cut pie with yours. Noticing Min Ae's eyes on him irked something in you.
“Mr. Park, I was hoping Min Ae to be our guest for a couple of days.”

terrible news, i tried to watch the Friendly Space Ninja Riverdale finale video again and i think i've pinpointed my problem with his videos, specifically the Riverdale ones but also just his general approach to media criticism, it's just the terrible wave of "objective criticism" we had on youtube with shitheads like Mauler but framed as just a more subjective opinion and it tries to pretend like that makes it any better, which it doesn't, like it really doesn't, because the underlying assumption that there is only one way to tell any type of story is just such a terrible thing for art but also he just fundamentally doesn't understand what type of art Riverdale is and there's just such a sheer lack of even attempting to treat it as a serious piece of art because the assumption is already that because popular consensus is that it sucks (the critical consensus has actually been consistently fucking great, you could just go look at the Rotten Tomatoes scores or even check out the legacy section on Riverdale's Wikipedia page), that means it automatically is trash, it never gets the opportunity to fight for itself because it's never given the chance to be thought of as a piece of art. it's an insistence that writing is the only way to analyze an audio-visual medium and like sure, writing doesn't "age" the same way other elements might, but audiences do age and change and evolve, media criticism does too, there's a reason people appreciate the Star Wars prequels more now than they ever did at release because we understand different ways of appreciating art now beyond the base insistence that conventionally "good" writing is the only thing to aim for (the prequels are actually well written but let's not get into THAT rn), that doesn't make the prequels "bad," it just means the prequels are different. i find the whole good/bad paradigm pretty suffocating in the first place but this is just so exhausting and i cannot believe that I've just managed to articulate it bc it seems shockingly obvious in retrospect.
also the video in question is just like factually wrong multiple times, he flat out admits he skips a lot of the season but then complains that the season doesn't make sense when he's jumping in at a random point, he complains that the previous seasons are meaningless but it's like has he forgotten that the audience doesn't forget stuff even if the characters have (and they even get their memories back in a thematically important and resonant moment the defines who the characters want to be so it's not really even entirely sound criticism) and that the show is intentionally trying to do interesting parallels and reversals of the stuff we've seen before, it's like commenting on itself because season 7 is a nostalgic look back at what the comics have been and what the show started from, and about the nostalgic feelings of that time and their appeal contrasted with the brutal truths of the reality of the situation, like this is just basic art criticism, i'm not even like trying to defend the season, like i don't even like season 7 that much, i think it's one of the more boring seasons and it ranks towards the middle for me, but like this is not like deep criticism where you're thinking and analyzing a lot, this is just seeing what the plot of the episodes is and what they're trying to communicate, it's just really irritating how fucking exhausting the objective criticism shit is but it's actually even more grating when you don't pretend to be superior about it because it makes it seem like you're not even bold enough to stand by your opinions and actually embrace the implication present in the shit you are saying, like it's just cowardice, honestly. but anyway, glad i figured it out, because it was honestly irritating me that i couldn't articulate why i didn't like those videos beyond just them being wrong about Riverdale on like a factual level and him just not understanding what it's trying to say as a piece of art.
the point of this isn't to say that i think he's making these arguments in bad faith or anything, i do think these are genuinely opinions he holds, and they are valid opinions for him to hold, i'm not saying they're invalid, you can prefer one aspect of a piece of media over other aspects because it's more important to you, that's okay, i'm just saying they're misinformed takes and generally display a shocking lack of imagination and respect for art and no desire to broaden his horizons.
anyway, if you actually want to understand the appeal of Riverdale, go through the Riverdale tag on my blog for my own analysis (but here's somewhere to get started), or if you want videos, the Super Eyepatchwolf video is pretty good, i still disagree with it a lot but at least the man tries to understand why people like the show and he even gets some part of the appeal, and we are going to get 4 5-hour videos from Lily Simpson over the next few months so i'm looking forward to those, bc Lily generally tends to at least understand the appeal of the stuff she talks about, and the title of the first video ("the captivating madness of Riverdale" [though i don't love the use of "madness"]) is already enough to make me feel like somebody kinda gets it and hopefully it'll be more coherent actual art analysis.

GARTEN OF BANBAN FAN ENDING🥲
Finally the player found their children. Suddenly behind them is the devil Banban who has defeated the real antagonist. Player worried about the possibility that the devil will attack and kill them and their children. But something unexpected happened...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"So glad... you made it."
His veins suddenly appeared on his entire body causing a lot of green blood or givanium burst out from Banban's mouth and then he lost his balance fell laying on the floor. Player quickly went to him bravely as they felt that Banban was able to control himself again. They can saw that Banban's body was getting thinner because of losing givanium.
"Uthman!!"
"Just call me what I am... Poor you all, I shouldn't be mad when you call me that when I'm truly... a monster..."
Suddenly, they felt a tremor like an earthquake in this kindergarten.
"Oh no... You and your children have to get out of this place now before it collapses and destroys..!"
"What about you? Let's go out too! I don't want to leave you here!!"
"You don't need to... This place is the only one I should be... And I am too dangerous to be close with your kind..."
"But-"
"Player... As a principal of this kindergarten... I'm so sorry for anything bad that you and your children had been through... and thank you for being the only one who trust me until the end... I'm really appreciate it... Take care... Farewell..."
In tears, Player hesitated to leave him alone...
"Wha.. what are you do-"
He shocked when suddenly Player hold him to give him a long hug
"I feel so sorry about you... I know that you've been through a lot since you existed... You must feel lonely... Nobody treats you like what you think... But I respect that you still help me no matter what will happen to you... You are a human at heart, Banban... I'm so glad I got to meet a person like you and I will never forget your kindness to me and my child..."
Case 6 eyes are filled with tears after hearing the last message from Player who's the only one care about him especially about the term of humanity that he actually had it even though he is a monster. And it's been so long he didn't feel the warmth of hug from human. His hands slowly reach up tried to hug back the player.
"Thankfully..."
But at the last moment, he's unable to give hug back as his hands dropped and body became limp slowly falling. All that left is silent for eternity...
Player felt more sad as they know what's that mean... They put him lying down on floor and stand up to leave from this kindergarten even though they felt bad leaving like this.
Only the principle was left behind alone again but forever as the place was going destroyed...
-THE END-
That's it, you guys. So why Banban may be dead because lack of blood to live and didn't eat his pain medicine for too long. Every time he returns from being devil, he will spit out too much givanium and it's happen too many times added up with the effect of Jumbo Josh's punch from chapter 3. Maybe his body still can't accept the givanium which is supposed to be like his blood. And because of his body appearance usually change (become hellish form), stitches on his back slowly open or torn. The way of his talking also showed that he didn't have more energy to live. And the way he died was referring to the way Kugisaki Nobara's death from anime Jujutsu Kaisen. So yeah, I hope even the ending maybe not like this, there were some angst because I would love it especially when it relates to Banban's situation. Ok bye!

By the way, what are your thoughts on Glaumvor and Kostbera, if you had to include them in your "ideal" version of the story? Especially Kostbera. In terms of being difficult to get along with, much less remain married to, I would rate Hagens on a scale of Rosengarten Hagen > Nibelungenlied Hagen > Wagner Hagen > Volsung Saga Hogni > Thidrekssaga Hogni > Ballad Hogni. And of course Waltharius Hagen is the prequel where he isn't quite so intense, murderous, or scheming. And especially in the Continental sources, where there's no mention of a wife, it's hard to imagine him finding the time to get married with how much he's stuck babysitting his lord or friends. So if Kostbera exists, is she just clearing out of the room so Walther or Volker can take over and deal with Hagen's bad moods?
I've actually never tried to mix the canons, so to say, when it comes to these two.
As you said, Hagen never gets a wife or even a passing love interest in Continental sources -- he really seems like the sort of guy who'd always be too busy fixing up everyone's messes (and then, sometimes, contibuting to making even bigger ones, lol) to even think about that sort of thing, but to me, there's also the way he just feels almost removed from women and their whole sphere, in a sense. In the Nibelungenlied, he remembers Helche fondly, but she's already dead by that point and doesn't even figure in that story; he seems to like Gotelinde, but when they do meet in person, he really only talks to her due to the shield of another man, her dead brother, and then, that whole interaction between them serves mainly to set up the pretext that later allows him not to fight Rudiger; he seems to agree with every other man in Bechlaren that Dietlinde is lovely, but rather than appreciating her himself, he's more concerned with setting up a marriage for Giselher (and thus, an alliance for the Burgundians), while from Dietlinde's point of view, he seems to be the only strange new man in her home to intimidate her; Kriemhild clearly trusts him and feels comfortable with him in the beginning, but the one scene where we really see that dynamic between them is already the one where he's using her to find out how to kill Siegfried without any apparent regret even while addressing her in fairly affectionate terms, and their relationship only goes downhill from there; he goes from calling Brunhild a devil to passionately swearing he'll avenge her honor, but tbh, to me both of these things seem more like they're about Brunhild's shifting relationship to Gunther, rather than about Brunhild as her own person. And even in the Waltharius, his interactions with (the woefully underutilized) Hildegund pretty much boil down to a "hey, Walther, tell your girl to pour us some wine." I'm not saying that I see him as incapable of having significant relationship with women (on the contrary, I'll cling with all my strength to the scraps we get of his affection for Helche, the possibility of a pre-mess positive-if-deteriorating relationship with Kriemhild, and that one source of the story of Walther that's eluding me rn but where Walther apparently wants to flee with Hagen but Hagen stops him and is all like "wtf, no, Hildegund is great and she deserves better than you abandoning her like this"), or even that I don't ship him women (I do!), but when it's so much easier to build on his relationships with men (as much as those are still, ofc, influenced by hierarchies and alliances), imagining a stable straight relationship of any kind, much less a marriage, for him is just something that always feels a bit too much of a hassle or even too out of left field to me.
When it comes to Gunther's wife, too, I prefer to go with the Nibelungenlied/Klage version, where Brunhild doesn't kill herself but rather stays alive at least until the coronation of Siegfried Jr., her son with Gunther. I actually like to imagine she took on a role as Siegfried Jr.'s chief advisor, with a good chunk of Worm's best knights dead in Etzel's court and Ute being presumably grief-stricken. My girl can (try to) put the entire mess behind her and be a well-respected and influential Queen Mother with a son to shape as she pleases guide and no husband to answer to, as a treat. But that leaves little room for a second marriage...
On the Norse side of things, on the other hand, I see both Hogni/Kostbera and Gunnar/Glaumvor as complex relationships. The former because what little we see of them involves Kostbera repeatedly trying to warn Hogni off the journey to Hunaland and Hogni outright dismissing her fears (to reassure her? To reassure himself? He just kinda snapped at her because he had a lot on his mind? All plausible options, imo) but, at the same time, they worked well enough together to have three or four kids; the latter, because they essentially have a repeat of the warning scene between Kostbera and Hogni, except Gunnar concludes it by admitting he actually agrees with Glaumvor but will face the danger anyway, but also because I can't imagine Glaumvor never heard anything about the whole thing with Brynhild and married Gunnar with a light-hearted, optimistic attitude. I picture both as arranged marriages, with no big "I'd leap through the flames for you" moment, and I think that, while Kostbera may have married Hogni pretty readily around the time Gunnar married Brynhild and Gudrun married Sigurd or shortly after because marrying into the Gjukungs was probably looking like a great prospect at the time, Glaumvor may have been pushed into Gunnar's arms by relatives trying to inch their own way closer to Sigurd's gold. I don't see either Hogni or Gunnar as the type to mistreat his wife (... well, beyond the occasional deception) but I imagine both relationship as relatively detached in the beginning, then warming up slowly and gradually through the years, especially in Glaumvor's case.
If I had to mesh those two visions together, I think I'd have Kostbera and Hagen as two sharp, strong-willed people who do have some things in common yet feel distant and slightly awkward around each other nonetheless, with Kostbera either slightly lonely and resentful of Hagen for being more dedicated to his duty and closer to his male friends (or "friends") than to her but also slightly grateful at the same time for the chance to mostly just do her own thing without her husband sticking his nose into her business, or having her own tightly-knit and kind of dramatic circle of female friends (or, again, "friends") as a contrast to his own dynamics, or a bit of both. As for Glaumvor and Gunther, I'd imagine the same uncertainty and shyness I usually pick for Glaumvor and Gunnar... only taken even further and a lot more difficult to grow past, what with Kriemhild still being in Worms for a while after Siegfried's death/being seemingly sent off to a land of pagans after having her husband murdered. Yup, Glaumvor would really be like "oh god, what DID I get myself into" about it.
(Btw, I sort of cackled a bit at seeing Wagner!Hagen in the middle of that ranking, tbh. Not that I don't love him a lot (<33333) but my boy is self-loathing on legs plus generalized misanthropy to go with the usual murder plus a horrible sleeping schedule probably plus terrible family dynamics no matter where you look... and just the thought of Wagner!Alberich as a father-in-law is, imo, terrifying. XDD As for Waltharius!Hagen, he literally waxes poetry about the human condition and needs to be comforted with hugs and kisses when he's upset. I want to pinch his cheeks and ruffle his hair. <333)

2024 Horror Challenge: [26/?]
↳“Do you know what happened to the last person who tried to kill me? I crushed her fucking head.” MaXXXine (2024) dir. Ti West
Plot: In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.
Starring: Mia Goth with Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Sophie Thatcher, Giancarlo Esposito & Kevin Bacon
I think it's safe to say, this was quite possibly the most anticipated horror movie of the year (at least since it's the ending of a trilogy and its release date kept being up in the air) X was an unexpected hit and Pearl was such a great prequel that it was always gonna be interesting to see how Ti West chose to end this trilogy and how people would feel about it. And well, as expected, the reviews I saw were mixed, which made me nervous before watching since I really wanted to love it myself. Sadly, I didn't love it but I also didn't hate it either. There were still plenty of things to enjoy I think since overall, I think the cast did rather well (obviously Mia was lovely as Maxine once again remaining the scream queen she is) and it has memorable enough moments. I just didn't love the overall direction that the story took since it does feel as though it goes off the rails a bit. But also, I wanted Maxine to feel less damsel-y than she does at times here (tho she does have two solid moments of being a badass) since that's what made her such an iconic final girl the first time. Kevin Bacon had me dying with his scenes. I did feel a little annoyed each time that Elizabeth Debicki's character was on the screen since all she ever did was rant to Maxine about Hollywood in a way that felt like it never contributed enough to warrant it in repeated scenes since I wanted more stuff about the actual mystery, which honestly will seem quite far-fetched to most people. I didn't mind that part as much personally but narratively, that was definitely a choice by Ti. lol I do appreciate that he stuck to the 80's aesthetic the way he did because it made the movie lovely to look at. Music cues were good. It felt like the proper makings of a good slasher in those departments, just certain choices in the actual story made this one not be as good as it possibly could have been I think. That said, I still love this trilogy. I still enjoyed things about this entry so it's not all bad. Just keep the expectations low. Should Ti have made a third movie? Probably not. But I don't hate the fact that he did.

I'm torn, if their relationship is so bad why does he always praise her, in that podcast for example, he says that she has infinite wisdom. Have you ever stopped to think that we want to believe that she is no good and that they are separated because we really like him and are jealous?
So far he's called her a shark (in business that is not a good thing, it means you have a terrible character and are looking to backstab constantly), a "producer of families"(in what universe can you pass babymaking as experience in tv production?) and other hints that come off as passive-aggressive digs. He tries to build her a better image but his resentment ends up coming through.
People have got to remember, whether you like it or not, that whatever a celebrity shares in interviews or on sm etc is not the real persona, it is a built persona meant to be consumed by buyers and fans. Jensen is trying to build an image. He says Danneel is wise? 🤣 Ok, if we look at evidence we know she advised him badly throughout his entire career. She told him to do the prequel that failed, for example. When he had emotional damage she was not there for him and made it all about her. Another example.
I don't look at shiny words, people can say anything. Look at Jensen's candid pictures, he is always either fully or partly drunk around her, undoubtedly exhausted and emotionally disconnected. So I don't care if he gives her a "best person in the world" award, she's clearly no t good for him and that's why he is pushing so hard to reinforce a better image. Image is everything to him, he is an actor and her is overcompensating for what he sorely lacks.
I don't agree with the jealousy angle, I don't believe in jealously because nobody owns anybody. To be jealous would mean feeling entitled to owning someone. We own no one. Love is all about freedom not posession.
I appreciate aspects of Jensen but he is married to a shedemon and has children so he is not even remotely someone that I could ever allow into my life. Aside from this, he's been displaying character traits that definitely offput me in every way.
There is so much evidence online of Danneel bullying people and acting entitled that I have zero doubts about her character. Aside from this, I didn't marry her so it is not my job to love her unconditionally. 🤣 This isn't the 1950s, it's perfectly okay for you to follow your instinct, if feel something/someone is off then trust that.

So Long, London
so many people, including those who say they are fans dislike TTPD and refer to it as lazy but I find it to be some of Taylor's best work. I appreciate the metaphors and how vulnerable she is with the narrative. She's not hiding; it's poetry. It's about emotion and the musicality really does come second.
Here's my song by song break down of things that I enjoy (and don't like) about the album for my own future reference so that I do not cave into peer pressure and start to hate the album on principle. Here are my personal interpretations and what the songs mean for me.
In no particular order So Long, London:
This is a big one, the most Track 5 track five she's released in a while and I've seen a lot of commentary saying that it's not sad enough but honestly, those people must have never loved someone so much that you put everything you had into them and they were still so sad. Like take away all the nuance, mental illness, big words, reasoning whatever and at the end of the day it was a person who was just sad and nothing you could do would take them out of their emotions and everything you tried made them view you as the enemy. You were the opposition for not wanting to wallow, for wanting more and for wanting it with them. To the point where it really made you question yourself and the thought of leaving made you feel worse because then you'd just be like everyone else but then it ended anyway and you thought you'd feel better but you still feel awful because you really did love this person and want the partnership you dreamed of with them but they just couldn't see you past their sad....I'm rambling
also can we please touch on how the comma changes the phrase without even trying (thanks, angelica)
anyway, i like the way that this one starts, the dissonance makes it kinda haunting, and I imagine her voice as an echo bouncing around the empty house as she leaves a final time. Honestly, in my imagination she's not talking to anyone, her partner in this scenario isn't listening because they didn't listen during the relationship. Regardless of who ended it (unclear in the narrative) her partner blames her for the decline of this relationship; this song is her side for whoever will listen and I imagine it to be the empty house and the quiet car as she leaves their shared house a final time.
moving on, when the beat comes in with the trembling synth rhythm, it adds to the confusion for the listener. It makes us feel disoriented and like we're joining in on something during the climax. Another interpretation is that it's a a fast heartbeat, the bpm of the song is 160 which is a normal heartbeat for exciting situations like exercise, drug use, rollercoaster rides etc... I can also imagine it as the heartbeat of someone leaving a lover. This really ties the song into You're Losing Me which I would say is a prequel to this song in theme alone.
I'm always a fan of the way Aaron incorporates emotion into his accompaniments and what I really like about this is he let's Taylor's vocals really make up the melody and become the focus of the song and uses layering of her voice to create emphasis and drama instead of the music.
While extremely poetic I think the lyrics are rather straightforward in conveying just how much the author gave to this relationship and how they felt alone and used at the end so I just will highlight some key phrases here instead of simplifying the metaphor as previously done:
Pulled him in tighter each time he was drifting away My spine split from carrying us up the hill Wet through my clothes, weary bones caught the chill Thinkin, how much sad did you think I had Did you think I had in me? Oh, the tragedy ...
I didn't opt in to be your odd man out I founded the club she's heard great things about I left all I knew, you left me at the house by the Heath And I'm pissed off you let me give you all that youth for free
And you say I abandoned the ship But I was going down with it My white knuckle dying grip Holding tight to your quiet resentment
Every breath feels like rarest air When you're not sure if he wants to be there
You swore that you loved me but where were the clues? I died on the altar waiting for the proof You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days
And I'm just getting color back into my face I'm just mad as hell cause I loved this place
For so long, London Had a good run A moment of warm sun But I'm not the one So long, London Stitches undone Two graves, one gun You'll find someone ...

Hey, love ur stories! Can u tell me more about Fred and Ari and their relationship when they were young and started dating? Also when is ur fanfic about Fred and Ari releasing?? I just love Fred and Aris relationship and u write they amazingly!
Oh my goodness, thank you so much and, of course I would absolutely love to talk about Ari and Fred's relationship!
But first I will address your second question!
The Adventurer and the Prince, the prequel fic focusing on Frederic and Arianna's relationship, has no planned release date. But I do have a plan for how it'll release! I plan to start publishing as soon as I have a few full arcs and release the chapters on an arc based schedule.
So what that means is that there may be weekly updates until an arc is complete and then a hiatus of however long is needed! I'll make sure arcs don't end on cliffhangers and are a sort of-self contained mini stories with an overarching plot similar to Tangled Sisters during Within the Walls of Corona.
I am really excited about this fic and recently I've been really wanting to work on it! It's just important I prioritise Tangled Sisters as it'd be easy for me to fall behind on daily updates if I didn't.
The first arc is just one scene away from being complete and it's named the Prince and the Puppy.
Which is a great way for me to move into talking about their relationship!
I know in the show, technically Arianna was also royalty from birth because she competed in the Contest of the Crowns, however, it was a minor detail and for this AU Arianna has already stated she married into royalty. A change that I think helps Arianna as a character understand her daughters, who are learning the ways of royalty later in life, but I also found it made for a funner backstory.
Arianna first meets Frederic when she is requested to take a very special delivery to the Crowned Prince of Corona. A puppy! Her firsts impressions of the prince are that he's pretty stuck up and definitely not someone she wishes to engage with.
But then she sees something she shouldn't have (not going to go into detail for spoilers!) and her opinion of him changes ever so slightly. She feels a sense of obligation to help but isn't sure how until she sees an opening for a riding instructor for the crowned prince who apparently is completely useless at horse-riding!
So that is how they start out! Arianna trying (and failing) to teach Frederic how to ride a horse while also trying to be a friend to him. Frederic at first is wary of her and thinks her foolish, but eventually he comes to appreciate how genuine she is.
Frederic's father is not at all in favour of Frederic dating a commoner, especially one who came from outside of Corona! He tries to cause trouble for the couple, but instead these attempts just end up teaching Frederic to stand up to him more.
It's planned to be a pretty slow development, from not enemies but certainly two people with very different opinions and ways of life, to friends, to lovers.
There are miscommunications on both sides with Arianna not knowing how to behave within a royal environment. And Frederic, not really knowing how to talk to someone who isn't a servant or high-ranking nobility, neither of which quite match up with Arianna.
Frederic learns to be more open about his emotions, learns it's okay to not always be this imposing presence that demands respect.
Arianna learns how to be a more regal and imposing presence when handling certain types of company.
It's a lot of sweet moments, stuff like Arianna asking Frederic to head to the store to get some sugar because she's baking and has run out, and he comes back with an entire sack because that's what they have in the palace kitchens.
Frederic having his entire schedule messed up because Arianna didn't realise it was her job to keep track of lesson time for the prince.
Perhaps one of the cuter moments is when Arianna sees Frederic's room in the palace and it's just... boring. All white walls, royal paintings, very formal. She asks about the decoration and he explains it's what a prince's room should look like and that anything out of place gets thrown away so he knows to keep it pristine.
So Arianna clears a corner of her home (she rents a place in Corona Village) for Frederic to decorate as he pleases.
Basically, the early stages of their relationship is Frederic, bringing Arianna along to regal events like balls, and dinner; and Arianna, in turn, dragging Frederic to outdoor picnics and hikes! A, 'here, let me show you my world' sorta thing with both being patient and wanting to make the other one happy.
I cannot wait to share this fic with you!
Thank you so much for the ask and the excuse to ramble on a bit about them! I'm so glad you enjoy how I write them as they're one of my parent-couples in media ever! ❤️❤️❤️
