I don't know if I've elaborated on this specific headcanon on here but this is a hill I plan to die on and I keep instinctively referencing it when I write so here:

Apollo has canonically watched doctor who or at least the AA equivalent, he makes a reference to it about Trucy's panties. This is canon. However I personally choose to believe that he is a fan of the much derived classic serial Trial of a Time Lord and does in fact regularly force the people in his life to watch it with him in an attempt to get them to like his nerd shit because it's law themed. This predictably fails because it is one of the worst seasons in the shows 6 decade run and is at points barely watchable. But I do think that Apollo just gets too hyped about the fact it's two of his interests overlapping

I'm gonna put the context under the cut for this serial because it's less headcanon and more just my thoughts, but I you want me to talk about how bad I think one of my favourite characters taste is then enjoy

For those not in the know this serial is basically an entire season of the show with the overarching narrative of the Doctor being on trial with himself as the defense in the gallianan court to prove that he hasn't been breaking basically all their laws by interfering with the affairs of other planets. It features very silly costumes, questionable writing because the BBC was trying so hard to get the show canceled at this point in time, and Brian Blessed in yellow face.

Now I am probably one of the few dw fans that actually quite enjoys the idea of a court drama doctor who serial, a lot of people are opposed in concept alone as the drama of the episode is regularly cut away to court scenes of the doctor and the procecution (that's a whole ass can of worms I'm not getting into the valeyard) bickering. But I will concede that even I couldn't finish it. The companions are well, they're two of the worst ones the series has ever done. I enjoy Perri but god did the writers just want a random young woman to be in skimpy outfits and put very little thought into her beyond that. It's carried by the performance but my girl has nothing to work with, especially this season where they get rid of the fact that she and six have a pretty antagonistic relationship and she's just generic companion with no flavor. Mel is... Ok whenever I see a female character that a fan base seems to hate I do instinctively want to love her. I was sat there determined to like her but unfortunately this is one of the few times the fans are right. She's really grating and not interesting in the slightest. I really tried. I can't.

The story's are goodish, it's classic who fair. Nothing outstanding unless you're me and want to over think about Perris death. But the episode itself doesn't lend much to that idea beyond her performance. The pacing is rough with the interspersed trial sections and honestly the Doctors puns on the prosecutors name get old real quick and that is so so much of the trial sections.

You will lafff..... but I will tell anyways..... I was prescribed a “life coach” after I got out of the hospital, which was really just a poorly disguised softcore “make sure u don’t yeet urself” type of thing. He had me write down things I liked about myself, and when I returned the sheet of paper still blank, he wrote stuff down for me. Like five sentences of “My hair and skin are unique and special” “I like animals and enjoy being kind to them” “I am worthy of respect” etc etc. and I had to look in a mirror twice a day and say those sentences to help “boost my self worth”. It sucked so bad dude, and I like got upset about it every time it came up, until finally my therapist was like “... this aint doin this sad bitch no good” and my parents got designated for yeet watch instead.

I know, logically, that (the majority of) people are not purposefully taking time out of their day to make me feel bad. They're trying to be encouraging and loving, and I appreciate it so much. Ah, favorite musicals! My all time favorite is Sweeney Todd. I do prefer the movie adaptation and think it’s the most cohesive version of the show, but I still like the stage show. I can go on about that one for a long time. One thing that always sticks in my mind about this novel is the way Hardy calls Bathsheba “the young farmer” just as he refers to the men as farmers - which, just saying, is more than most people writing about this story can do - and so, that being the case, what I’m most interested in is something about Bathsheba as farmer. One day in the life or four seasons in the life or five plantings/harvests in the life, or pseudo-academic fic about a case study of a woman farmer in the Victorian era, or a conflict between the farm and nature that Bathsheba has to decide how to solve.

Feel free to bring in other characters if it suits what you’re trying to do, but what I’m really looking for is a focus on Bathsheba’s work, determination, and process of learning. (I like how Bathsheba's relationship with Gabriel ends up playing out in canon, but I don't want shipfic.) Other ideas: something like a merchant ship AU (as the first alternate setting that came to mind where it would be not exactly the done thing for her to captain her inherited ship and make commercial decisions herself - although I do have to point out that contrary to popular belief, there were a lot of women on shipboard in the age of sail, may this be useful - but also where nature and luck/fate are as influential as they are in the original setting), or something in which the land, superstition, and ritual are more overtly magical.

This is a perennial request for me and anything would make me very happy. I'm so interested in how the war changes all the characters and their relationships with one another, how Everything is Beautiful and Then Shit Gets Real but amidst the war-is-hell there's still the creation of bonds of trust and loyalty and chances to do what's right (the bits with the Plumbish priestesses, for instance). Every character gets a chance to develop and make choices that are all brave in different ways. Would also be curious about post-canon (what happens if Neviril and Aeru make it back to the main world when war is brewing again, but Neviril has no one from the old cohort to lead because they can’t fly anymore?) and/or about magic and time weirdness retconning character deaths or disappearances.

I've requested either tricks or treats here. For tricks I'd prefer "dark" to "cynical" - throw as much shit at them as you want in terms of war-is-hell and weird magic and time horror, but I believe that the characters mostly want to do what they believe is the right thing and help each other. My treat preferences are, I think, more about thematic focus than content - if it's slice of life, how is that life striving towards their ideals even in small ways? (Helping the war orphans, flying the Simoun, growing a garden?) If it's more about Things Happening, in the war or whatnot, what do those things show about their growth or the changes in their relationships? I would also be super into interactive fiction.

As far as ships go, I'm on board with most of the canon ones (no romantic/sexual Dominuura/Limone, please) but have a small soft spot for postcanon Paraietta/Rodoreamon as well.

I love hard-headed, practical, ambitious women who get into adventures because of, rather than in spite of, those qualities, and so I love Miryem and her good sense, pride, and rules-lawyering. I’m really interested in what the book does with power - Miryem’s real-world power of accounting and hardheadedness becoming magic in the Staryk world, being a queen in one world while belonging to a disenfranchised minority in another. What happens when Miryem is back in the human world, post-canon? I never got the impression that she’d be happy just avoiding the whole question of the town’s contempt for her by finding power elsewhere - what’s it like if she comes back a queen? (Can she use the mirror from Irina to do an end run around the whole Persephone setup and travel back and forth whenever she wants, and if so, what sorts of plot would make that fun to play with? If not, that’s still fine.) Or, what are some adventures in the Staryk world where she could use her Accounting Powers, other than the post-war rebuilding the book talks about? Or tell me more about Miryem practicing Judaism in the Staryk world, and the application of Judaism to that world and those customs that we get some hints of (that’s a hell of a diaspora - what would the rabbis think of it?).

I'm very uninterested in Miryem's romance with the Staryk Lord unless you feel like making it f/f, so while I don't require you to retcon it or break them up, I don't want a fic focusing on it. If you're interested in shipping her with Irina or Wanda, I have some previous prompts for them in my "dear author letters" tag. (These may also be relevant to platonic fic that includes Irina or Wanda - like Wanda becoming a magical gatekeeper to Miryem's land or having the "magic" of reading/writing that Miryem gave her become magic-magic in the Staryk land, or Irina and Miryem's different ideas of who their commitment as queen is to - but there's more detail and prompts in the tag.)

I've requested treats only for this fandom, no tricks - I'm totally fine with characters' angsty pasts and angsty present feelings being included, but I'd prefer that the overall mood of a fic that involved angst be one that focused on a better future, bonds with others, a cause to believe in, etc.

I ship Arkady with Sana (that loyalty kink!), but I don't mind if a fic includes Violet/Arkady (after all, it is canon) as long as it's not shipfic/focused on their romance. Brian/Krejjh is good too.

No kiss. rainy night and morning and F59 ¼° at 8 am   wrote a few lines to Cooper to say much obliged for his letter of the 1st instant  glad the ponies are well and fit for use and I shall be in York on Monday evening next, and will send them home - then read over copy (French) of letter to Madame de Bourke and wrote copy of one to my landlord in English  - breakfast at 9 till at which hour fair and a little sunshine - breakfast till about 9 ¾ - then at Walker pit (Holt there) and in and out till had Mr Husband about 11 - he gave me Brian Helm’s and David Booth’s estates per measure for the Lodge with Mr Harper’s observations - B- much the lowest for labour - but the highest for stone ashler grit per cubic ft - desired Husband to tell Mr Harper I should be at the Black Swan in York between 5 and 6 pm on Monday then at the Lodge cutting and had Booth - said I did not think it fair to make any remark but that he was much higher than BH for the ashler - DB. said he had inquired the price of the man on Harwood well moor of whom Abraham Mallinson got me what I had had - told B. to see in the course of tomorrow if he could get the stone for less - he said his  1 horse cart on tolerable road would bring 1 ton = 15 cubic ft. at once and could go once a day to Greatland moor and twice a day to Harwood well moot - at once a day and at 5/. per day = 4d. per ft. carting - to ascertain the price of the stone and we could soon calculate the carting and then I would alter his estate accordingly and Mr H- would determine fairly - would not say that I should decide - threw it on H- but my own mind is made up for Booth to have the job?  at a rough guess he thought about 600 cubic ft might be enough - then sometime with A- saw her off on the pony to Cliff Hill about 2 ½ pm then in the saddle room (George’s room) with Robert the mason till 5 ½ standing over him while he chiselled and hoed the mortar of the flags - saw he would do nothing without me - wish I had put down new flags, and used these old spoiled ones for the cow house or other things - but too late now - at 5 40 went to the cutting - Mawson and his 5 men (today) finished cutting away for the Lodge this morning and began after dinner cutting away for the bridge over the glen - Mawson just gone when I got there so went to the Stump X inn - saw Mrs Mawson 1st time - and the 1st time of going there since they came - she a nice respectable looking woman - much pleased when I mentioned giving them a new sign (the arms) went to tell M- that I would have a bearing tried of the stoned in Whiskam road - home at 6 ¼ - dinner at 6 ½ - coffee - read the newspaper - a few minutes out giving orders to George for tomorrow - to take the great bay and Ruthin and go early tomorrow forwards to Greenwood to floor over Hopkins’ cowhouse  -then sometime with Marian - tea at 9 - 10 minutes with my aunt till 10 20 then wrote the above of today till 10 40 at which hour F57 ½° - dull showery threatening morning - fair and tolerably fine and rather windy from between 1 and   2 pm for the rest of the day -  Holt told me this morning his uncle Samuel Holdsworth had bought the coal now loose in Spiggs land for £350 that they had reserved all that underwater at 30/ per DW - Holt said little but advised stopping the goit immediately - said John Oates had just got £20 from Joseph Clarke for use of a road about 40 yards for the last 2 years long thro’ John O-‘s late daughters farmyard (she had a moiety of the farm and left her ½ to her father) and had bargained to have an annual rent of £7 and besides this 3 dozen of coals delivered at his own door at Pump i.e. = £8.10.0
