hi guys i'm thinking about atwq again. today it's the Thematic Relevance of moxie and ellington being the closest two people to lemony throughout the series, with both of them representing one 'moral extreme'

moxie views morality in a staunchly, naively black-and-white way whereas ellington has willingly abandoned all pretense of morality because she would do anything and everything to save her father

and lemony understands gray morality - one reason he forgives ellington over and over - but sticks closely to the 'good' side himself, because he's vfd he's a firefighter he's good, until the end when he slips entirely into a gray area himself
