Tallit Update:

This is about an inch (2.5cm) up, and this spans fifty-one inches (129.5cm) across. This represents about four hours of work at least already, and yes, I feel like I'm going crazy.

For reference, this is my rough outline of what it'll look like. The numbers are in inches, of course:

Some new ideas:

In the "blank" space left between all the stripes, I want to alternate between one row of half double crochet and the second row double crochet. Will that be visible? No. But it sounds fun.

I might add a border, but here's the catch: I want the sides that are fifty-one inches to be done in picot stitches. I'm really not sure how it'll look, but I really don't want to add the more "traditional" fringes that go around many tallit. However, I think picot might be a good imitation of that traditional look. Honestly, I either need to be talked into this, or talked out of it
