thoughts on the wicked movie?

oh I am preparing for that like one would prepare for a battle lmfao. wicked has never been my favorite show, but it is extremely good, and I honestly don't know how this movie is gonna go 😭

I'm mixed on the cast- ariana is super talented, but 1) she's worryingly unhealthy and It Shows in the trailers, and 2) quite frankly I still think the role should have gone to dove cameron. cynthia's out of this world but 1) she's a bit old for the role, which is fine, but a lot of times I find adults playing teens and twenty somethings very...unbearable (sorry kimberly akimbo 😔) so I worry it could turn into a green evan hansen movie moment and 2) honestly she really did annoy me with that meltdown over the fan edited poster lmfao like I still love her but it's hard not to cringe now lol. jonathan bailey has a beautiful voice and will kill it! ethan slater I think will actually have a little breakout moment and the public opinion on him will sway. I don't mind bowen yang but I also don't understand why he's there. goldblum, yeoh, and dinklage can do no wrong. idk anything about the girl playing nessa but honestly nessa sucks so I don't mind going in blind on her lol.

I think it's dumb as hell that it's being split into two movies- I know that's the general opinion of everyone, but it still needs to be said. the only good songs in act 2 are 'as long as you're mine' and 'for good'. there's not enough to entice people who aren't already diehard fans to come back for more- and like, the first rule of adaptation is to assume the audience isn't familiar with the source material. so I PROPOSE. that the best way to drum up excitement for part 2. is making glinda and elphaba's feelings for each other explicit instead of subtext. I think jon m. chu WOULD do it, but I don't know if the studio and producers would allow it. we shall See. but that's my big prediction for the movie.

I'm also mixed on jon m chu directing because like. listen I love that he did in the heights and had like a huge delayed theater kid awakening moment I really do love that for him. and in the heights WAS a great movie- but a lot of the changes that were made really bugged me lmao. not all of them, but a lot of them. and obviously, since he's dragging it into two movies, changes will be made. theoretically they could just add a bunch of stuff from the book, but like, if they make cuts from the already solid stage story to add in completely new characters and plotlines (like they did for in the heights) I just! don't know that I'll like that sorry

plus the fact alone that they've been trying to make this movie for 20 years like. it has a HUGE shadow to outshine and I Hope it'll pull it off but I don't know that I'm confident it will?

all that being said I WILL be seated in a theater recliner seat wearing pink and green and drinking a cocktail. this is like the superbowl okay.

Being a Sonamy fan is hard (and just being an Amy Rose fan in general)

*quick note, I have only seen a few leaks regarding Sonic X Shadow Generations so take this post with a grain of salt and please add in some stuff about the game that I should be aware of because I have a feeling that this post might be incorrect about a lot of things*

Being in love with Sonic isn't Amy's only trait. She is something more. She's a baker, a tarot card user, she's got a strong heart of gold, and is just a passionate and cheerful cute little weird girl.

As a Sonamy fan, these "changes" are nothing special or big, it's still just Amy being Amy, but this time more than just wanting to be with Sonic. I am aware of that one edit where Amy was trying to give Sonic cupcakes. It's really cute, but it's not the same without the hand over her face. Am I complaining? Yes, and no, it's hard to describe. (I don't have the image with me atm but in the future I'll edited in on this post)

I'm not complaining because we are seeing Amy just doing more than just, loving over Sonic. She still is in that cutscene, and most of the game as far as I'm concerned (I haven't seen all of the leaks), but in a more calmer fashion.

But at the same time, I am complaining because, and I highly doubt SEGA is doing this, at least on purpose, but Amy's crush on Sonic feels like is getting buried in a way.

I kind of worry that a newer generation of Sonic fans will never find out about Amy's crush for Sonic, or just how wonderful their dynamic in general is if this keeps going on.

I know it won't, but still, we haven't been seeing that a lot. But at least if you want to introduce new fans Sonic and Amy's dynamic, platonically or romantically, make sure to not bring up Heroes or a couple of X episodes please LMAO

(But that one episode where Amy and Sam talk about her relationship with Sonic, yeah, bring that one up. OH. and the last episode of Season 2, don't forget about that one.)

Look, we're all high on Son/adow right now, and it feels good, but what about Sonamy? Sonamy and Son/adow have a lot in common and are both really good with angst potential and lots of great character interactions. At least in my opinion anyway. (Topic for another day, if I'm brave enough)

I love them both equally, so I want to see an equal amount of hedgehog dorks being together. Or better yet, Sonamyshad. 😎

But I'm getting slight off-topic...

I don't want Amy's crush to be forgotten. You don't even have to like Sonamy to understand why and how Amy's feelings for him is actually really important for her character. (Again, topic for another day)

I mean, of course, some reasons as of why relate to my personal headcanons, but there are other good in-canon reasons, too!

Hell, even Sonic and Amy's friendship is just as important. They don't have to be a couple, but that doesn't mean we have to pretend that Amy never fell in love with the hedgehog who saved her life in more ways than one.

I also don't want how much Sonic and Amy's relationship improved throughout the years to be forgotten, either. This is why I'd rather have the shot of Sonic's covering her face with his hand, because he wouldn't do this today, and that's the point of all this...

They both started off as goofy, little kids, one wanting to share her love like wildfire, and the other always running off, not understanding the concept of love, and, of course, not loving her back.

Amy was much more loud and expressive about her love, and Sonic, while he knows there is good in Amy, does not want to be part of a relationship, and doesn't know how to talk things out about it, even with Amy not taking "no" for an answer. The solution? Just run away lol

Yeah, there are times where he called her a "pain" and thought of her as "annoying," but those times he was either in a hurry, or in a bad mood. Remember: They were both younger at the time, so it's in-character for Sonic at that age.

Sonic and Amy don't have a lot of moments where they're just, together. And not just for a "date." Sonic doesn't know a lot about Amy other than her love for him. ...Okay, some things he does know, but not a lot.

Their relationship was beginning to shift after the events of Lost World and especially after Forces, which I would explain, but I'm gonna put a link here because I don't want this post to be too long.

But if you have read it, then the next couple of texts would have some context lol

Anyways, after all that, Sonic and Amy's relationship was a lot different now. Amy was more calm but still cheerful, just not showing a lot of her love for Sonic because she's fully aware that none of that is important, and Sonic was more gentle around her because he wanted to be better than how he acted towards her for a while.

They both just want to hang out and start over as proper friends, but eventually, Sonic would find out what Amy was going through mentally, and how long she kept this from him.

Perhaps after that, Sonic wouldn't mind being closer to Amy, but he still has a world to look after. But hey, maybe slowing down and letting Amy catch up with him won't be so bad. Besides, he's finally seeing her happy with just him for the first time in a while, and he never realized just how much he missed it until now.

Buuuuut, those are just my headcanons, like I mentioned earlier. We all have our reasons why we love or dislike a ship (as long as it's not gross), and I have my own.

These two, just like son/adow, hold a special place in my heart because of what I went through myself, and how much they both have grown, and I truly hope that their relationship and friendship won't be forgotten.

I know it won't happen, but I still have that feeling... Probably because no body cares about their dynamic as much anymore.

Because of the past and people misinterpreting the ship, and Amy's character as a whole, the fandom seemed to care less about it. I mean, I don't blame them, but... it's still pretty messed up.

It's fine if you don't like sonamy, but I really hope you dislike it for a genuine reason, and not just because of some fans getting some things, or worse, everything about Amy and/or the ship wrong.

Amy's character arcs through the games, and her and Sonic's dynamic through the years have been overlooked as far as I'm concerned. Not like heavily overlooked, it's just that it's been a while since I've seen people give a damn about Amy Rose, especially SEGA.

I know we got The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, but I feel like that's not enough.

What's going on with Sonic X Shadow Generations is pretty strange, but first of all, it's not Ian's fault god dammit, and second, I don't see it as a big deal. I haven't seen most of the leaks, but as far as I'm concerned, it's not that bad.

(But I have heard about that one cutscene with Knuckles and Classic Sonic and I couldn't help but laugh my ass off over it XD)

But with how the game is handling Amy, please be aware that this isn't the first time this happened, and it's not even that bad either. I mean, yeah I did mention how I'm worried about it, but I was over it once, I'll get over it again lol

There have been discussions about this since the Fast Friends Forever bio thing that happened last year, and I'm getting kind of tired of the arguments by now.

Amy stopped chasing Sonic not because she doesn't love him anymore, but because she doesn't need too. She is part of the team and has been closer with Sonic for a long time now. She doesn't need to follow them around when she already have proven herself to be useful and a fighter.

I'm really happy Amy is being recognized as something more than having a crush on Sonic, but having a crush is the heart of Amy's character.

Looking up to Sonic and wanting to be like him is what made Amy Rose... well, Amy Rose. She pushed herself and fought hard to be the person she wanted to be, and it's all thanks to Sonic.

He inspired a lot of people around him, especially Amy, so it's no wonder why she loves him so much. Plus, her tarot cards told her that he would be the love of her life, but I feel like even if the cards are wrong (not saying they are lol), she still loves him.

I want Amy's feelings for Sonic, and their friendship and their potential relationship to be remembered for a long time. I don't want them to be pushed to the side forever.

I don't want people to believe that her crush is her only trait, even though it's so important to her character.

I don't want Amy to change too much. Friends or not, I don't want her to give up on Sonic entirely.

I don't want this fandom to forget about Amy Rose.

Can you fact check This One being about John? It's an interpretation that really annoys me because I think it just comes from one rambling answer about relationships in general where he vaguely connects John and George's relationship to the song and not one where he's saying anything meaningful about his and John's relationship. I love the song and it's so outside of my interaction with it that I find the way it's accepted as McLennon fact really hard. But maybe there's a source out there I'm not aware of

bc ultimately, as fans, we are all going to have our own interpretations of songs and that's fine! i mean, people shouldn't be repeating it as hard fact, but at the same time sometimes u just gotta breathe out & let people interpret how they will. (like i, for one, don't think "dear boy" is about john, but it's not my business if someone thinks it is)

so i will say now (& it is in my pinned, a bit), unless there's some definitive answer on a lyrics based fact-check (like, again, "here today" or "how do you sleep?"), my answer is pretty much Always gonna be neutral. but i will do on any of these types of questions is try & find both sides of the interpretation as well as any quotes from john/paul/others on the song.

well, to start with, paul immediately answers with "i'll tell him one day" which, regardless of if it's about john, is a very blatantly queer answer. maybe a slip of the tongue, who knows, but there's not much question at the least that this song is romantic. so paul saying it's about a "him" is very interesting, even if it's not john. (edit: given the youtube video linked below, it can also be heard as "them". i still don't hear "them" or think it's continuous, but that is one interpretation & hearing of this interview and it's a valid one!)

second, he does connect it to george and john's relationship, but he does it in a way that's just again connecting the song to him and john. he says "i'm sure in the feeling of this song that george (...etc)" which is just him saying he thinks george can relate to the feeling of the song.

and ofc back to the beginning of the quote, right after saying "i'll tell him one day" he says "a lot of people, john for instance (...)" which is just connecting that sentence to john. he goes on to say they got their relationship right, but then at the end loops back around to saying the song is about regretting not saying "i love you", which we know from "here today" and other paul quotes he does deeply regret not saying to john. so an Entire Song about that regret is not like. unfeasible to be about john.

i will say, i at least think this song is about more than one thing. he says here it's about that type of relationship he had with john (or the nebulous "him" who i mean. who else would that be? tara?) and then he does also talk about how he had fun w the storytelling w the word play on "this swan" and the hindu imagery. (edit: also with the full context of the youtube video below, this is even more relevant, because paul also talks about family and a "her". imo, it's more than likely a song about many people/relationships. some people think that one of those is john, myself included!)

like you said, it is a bit of a rambling answer! and saying it's about john IS just an interpretation. paul saying "him" could've been a slip of the tongue, or maybe he had some other romantic relationship with a man we're not privy to, or maybe he did completely mean all those lines platonically and it's about various men he's been friends with or even john in a platonic way.

he does also connect the song to george and john, so it could be about that. i've also seen someone posit that here he is trying to reach out to george in his own way- thinking george must have the same regrets as him with john & thus this is his attempt to repair that relationship before they have those regrets with each other too.

and ofc, it could just be a totally hypothetical song. he never says it's about his own life, and he does include a lot of fictional imagery about a swan in this song. he could just be telling a story he doesn't necessarily relate to.

edit: there is also a full youtube video (time mark for part of this interview comes at 59:51). in the video, paul also mentions parents as someone you might regret not telling how you feel. following another edited clip, he says the "I’m saving it up. I’ll tell him/them one day," line, which can also be read as a "them" referring to parents rather than a "him". he also mentions a "her" in this interview as well, which adds credence to the fact that this song is about many types of relationships/people and this doesn't necessarily mean it's about john at all. or that if it is, it's romantic, since he mentions parents as well.

Reader and Ayatsuji are kind of like partners on the case and after reader and Ayatsuji finished solving a case, both of them were on break and so reader asks if Ayatsuji would like to go to the arcade and play games with her, preferably fighting games.

Reader is polite and straight to the point when asking, once Ayatsuji accepted the offer she felt elated and immediately dragged him to a nearby arcade and started teaching him about the controls and etc, after the gaming session they both ate at a reasonably priced food court because reader likes to save money. (Inflation 😭)

Oh, how he enjoyed Tsujimura's screeching in the morning. A collective of grumbles and moans from behind the door before opening to reveal her oh so wonderful presence. She looks over to Ayatsuji, who's reading his paper in silence, standing there hoping for him to say anything.

He stops reading for a moment, his gaze shifting over to her before returning to his paper. She stomps her feet over to him and slams a case file down onto his desk.

“Good morning, Tsujimura,” He says dejected, his eyes never leaving the paper.

“Listen here Ayatsuji,” She's pointing at him with a snarl on her face. “You will obey every command I tell you, and you won't run off this time.”

“Don't you tell me this with almost every case?”

“Yes! Though today is very different,”

“I have a partner with me this time, right?”

“You have a part-Wait! How did you know?”

Ayatsuji holds the file in his hands, reading a few prominent lines before looking back over to her.

“I guessed,”

Tsujimura looks impressed for a second before she's frowning.

“Don't embarrass me, I'm an agent with every right to shoot you dead on the spot!”

“How scary~”

She pouts before huffing and puffing all to herself in a corner. He reads your file carefully. Everything about you felt normal except one thing. Your ability. It was deadly, yet you weren't in the same predicament as him. You weren't locked away in a building, they let you roam the streets of Japan.

He lifts his head and asks, “Have you personally met my partner?”

“Of course I have. She has all the details to this case,” Tsujimura crosses her arms with a confident look on her face.

“I can't have information she has?”

“Nope. You ask her when we get there.”

He sighs as he stands from his seat. His fingers tapped against his desk, watching as Tsujimura leave the room.

Ayatsuji hadn't thought much of you, just a simple person to him in the most flattering way possible. You lacked the same energy as Tsujimura, and he silently approved that of you.

“There is one thing I'd like to say about this overall case,” you inquire.

“Well, go ahead,” Ayatsuji responds.

You say with a smile, “It's annoying,”

Tsujimura looks shocked, while Ayatsuji is already thinking. You informed them of the target and his annoying ability in which made him difficult to catch. You were placed under this case by him thinking you could possibly outmatch him, that is, if you could catch him.

“The thing is they hadn't known what his ability was at the time, so...”

“So they chose you? Yet they kept you on the case.”

You nodded. Ayatsuji understood now, your ability despite its prowess was no match for a teleportation ability. There were still some clues that needed to be connected, hence Ayatsuji was called on.

“I see. I'll help with your case,”

“It's not like you had a choice, and plus I'll help you every step of the way.” Tsujimura interrupts.

In the end, you and Ayatsuji left behind Tsujimura. She couldn't keep up with the both of you and was left behind at a train station two hours away. The case was finished as agents flocked to your area to clean up the remains of the perpetrator. You settled on staying put to let her catch up to you.

“I suppose we are on break then, huh?” Your head falls to the side to get a better look at him. He only looks towards you, nodding.

Unfortunately, waiting in silence for two hours is not ideal. So it must be broken.

“Do you want to go to an arcade and play fighting games?!” You ask, your hands grip the edge of the bench in anticipation. Ayatsuji is somewhat perplexed. Though he notices your movement and the twinkle in your eyes, yet he doesn't indulge in the collective boredom growing throughout the bench.

He says, “Sure,” before hearing you squeal in excitement while being dragged to a hole in the side of a building.

“Since we got here, I've been eyeing this place for a while,” You admit while your arm is hooked around his. When you stop in front of a purple and blue machine, a galaxy appears on the screen and the text moves up and down.

“This is Galaxy Fighters. It's moves and controls are easy to learn,” You start pulling coins out your purse and inserting them into the slot, all while Ayatsuji takes note of the glimmer in your eye. It was as if the galaxy reflected onto your eyes instead.

“You can sift through the characters through the joystick and the big red button can lock in your character,”

He was paying close attention to your instructions, listening and giving input when needed. To be quite honest with you, he enjoyed playing with you. A small smile crept up onto his face during this time, and you briefly felt a pang in your heart upon seeing it.

You turned your head back to the fight only to see yourself losing to him by a margin. You jolt as you start to desperately smash the buttons in an attempt to win again, no thought whatsoever. He chuckles at your desperation, cursing him as you see the K.O. appear on-screen.

"I can't believe I lost," You pout.

"You'd have won if you didn't stare at me," He says as he glances over at you. You're baffled, body shaking with vigor as you can only stare at him.

"Pffff,"

"What, you're going to say you weren't staring at me?"

"I..." He's making a face at you, it was one that had a certain smugness about it, and you pout. "...no, I was not."

In an attempt to change the subject, you look away as you open up your purse, "Oh! That's good. We have enough money to eat."

"We're eating?"

"You aren't hungry?"

He stares at you.

"I am."

Admittedly, you eyed the restaurants near you, recognizing which names were expensive and ones that were cheap. During these times, any waste of more than you've saved might lead to death. That was an exaggeration.

Ayatsuji could tell on the expression on your face as you eyed another menu. I mean, you had your every right to be so stingy with your money, the economy was in shambles. You finally settled for a little shop, cheap yet invigorating on all levels.

You had a gorgeous bowl of shrimp fried rice, the shrimp shone a golden brown while the rice inherited the color. Ayatsuji had a bowl of udon noodles, unfortunately, you didn't get to see his dish. Your stomach watering at the many possibilities in his own bowl.

Suddenly a little song played, ah, your ringtone. You saw the name Tsujimura appear on-screen, your lips pursing as you take the call. That was it, it had been two hours and your journey has ended. She has reached the both of you.

"Well, we should go now," You twiddle your thumbs as you stand before the restaurant.

"Yes, we should," He says as he starts looking over at the street signs.

"Here you go,"

He looks down to see a thin strip of paper and a number on it.

"This is my phone number. Well, not really, it's the buildings I live at,"

He grabs it and shoves it into his pocket.

"The phone's tapped, isn't it?"

You sheepishly nod, giving him an uneasy smile while he wears none.

"Well then goodbye,"

"Goodbye,"

"Maybe we'll work together again,"

"Maybe..."

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park

The title is inspired by the song with the same name by Tom Leher.

This is just a silly medieval/fantasy/dnd-kinda inspired Everlark Oneshot AU. It came to me in the daze when my kitten woke me up at 4 am. It's barely edited, but i'm just happy I actually wrote something and finished it. Lmao.

Snippet:

"Could have done us all a favour and put her on stage first," I grunt, glaring at him as he hands me my drink back. "Your wailing could land you a cozy job in the gallows. Heard Snow's been trying to find new ways to torture people. I could even put in a good word for you." 

The bard laughs, "I think so too. But my girl is stage shy so I do what I can to make her comfortable." 

A pair of travellers walks into the tavern. Wouldn’t raise much of a fuss if it weren’t for the wailing of the out of tune lute that the boy was strumming. Did the fella smash someone over the head with that thing or something? Boy must be deaf ‘cause he’s chippier than a squirrel. 

The Lass following behind him who doesn't seem to mind the noise. She’s dressed in all black, like a shadow, and carries a bow that hangs off her arm. Poor thing looks like his bodyguard. She looks good though. Small. Thin. No breasts to comment about, but there’s a hint of a tight ass there. Maybe I can convince her for some time away from this bellend she’s traveling with. I got some coin. 

I take a sip of my ale and let the booze warm my blood. A couple more glasses of these and maybe I can tune out the Lad’s annoying lute plucking. Maybe if I’m lucky someone will punch the daylights out of him. 

“Big crowd tonight! First time in the 12. And you do look like a dreary lot. I think it’s a great time for a song, don’t cha think?” 

I frown and look into the stage. Ah bugger. The bard with the detuned lute is on stage now. Who's bright idea was to give this guy an audience? 

Despite asking the crowd, the idiot begins to sing. And dammnit all, this fucking blows. I’ve heard of strangled cats that sound better than this bloke. He’s more out of tune than the fucking lute. 

All the world seems in tune On a spring afternoon When we're poisoning pigeons in the park Every Sunday you'll see My sweetheart and me As we poison the pigeons in the park

Then, over the strangled tunes of this botched siren comes out a wailing "Oh brother, this guy stinks! Get him outta here!" 

I join in on the booing. I even chortle when someone throws a full mug of ale at the bard. The Lad takes it all in good humour and bursts out into laughter. 

"What an encore!" he laughs, ducking as someone hurts a wooden fork his way. "We got one more song for tonight and - woah, good throw! - but I'll let my good friend take the stage!" 

The bard turns to his female friend, holding out his lute to her. The lass is fighting the grin on her face as she takes the lute from him and kicks him off stage. She's a pretty thing, so once she sits down, the tavern riles down. 

She teases us too. Carefully plucking and tuning the lute until it rings just right when she strums. 

Are you, are you comin' to the tree? Where they strung up a man, they say, who murdered three Strange things did happen here, no stranger would it be If we met at midnight in the hanging tree

Oh. She's got a voice on her. Better than anyone I've heard around these parts. I can tell I'm not the only one to think so cause the folks around me stop and stare. And judging by the staring, I got some competition if I want to get some time with that Lass tonight. 

"Quite the songbird, isn't she?" I jump, nearly dropping my cup as the Bard slides into the seat next to me. He takes the opportunity to swipe my drink from me and take a sip. "Doesn't believe me when I tell her that the gods are envious of that pretty voice of hers."

I peel myself off of Katniss, and rummage through the Peacekeeper's pockets. There I find what we're looking for. A gold key. I hand it to Katniss, who takes it without a word. 

"Think we'll be able to find where they took Prim with this?" Katniss asks me in a small voice. 

I don't know, but I have to be strong for her. I need to give her a little hope. I give her hand a squeeze. "It's our best bet so far."

tell me about your pets/your dream pet: after 15 wonderful years, our family dog paul (i named him that when i was five lol) unfortunately passed away in august 2023, i loved that dog more than most people. (there were some pictures of him here, but i got nervous that someone i know might see this so i removed them lmao). i'd love to get a dog or a cat at some point later in my life, but not now or any time soon.

share some interesting fact about yourself: i'm genuinely incredibly boring, so much so that i had to ask for help to find an answer here. the council decided on the fact that i know how to ride and own a motorcycle and am also a member in an mf in my hometown.

what was the first fandom you were a part of?: i guess the first time i was properly involved with fandom in any capacity was during my teen wolf days.

do you have any phobias?: i don't know if it's bad enough to be considered a phobia, but i'm terrified of heights. there have been several instances of me breaking down crying despite trying to keep it together while being in very high places (usually while having to climb dodgy stairs in very high buildings, among other things).

are you a picky eater? if so, what food can't you stand?: YES! and i hate it because it's so so limiting and annoying. i am incredibly sensitive regarding taste and texture and i have to physically force myself to hold back visceral reactions to foods i don't like. it'd probably be easier to list the foods i can eat tbh.

tl;dr mystery mass did turn out to be technically cancerous. i do not remember the specific type off the top of my head yet but its a weird rare one, because of course it is. luckily its a kind that stays very localized, so it's not gonna pop up anywhere else in my body, and my surgeons did manage to remove all of it with good margins. i am now down the 3rd and 4th part of my duodenum and my gallbladder (which, fun fact, did have signs of chronic gallbladder disease, so i guess i didn't escape that family trend lmao). like all cancers, theres a chance it'll grow back, but if it does, it should be in roughly the same place and is unlikely to be fatal, just annoying

the first like 18hrs post surgery were uh. not fun since it took A WHILE to find some sort of non oral pain management that would actually work for me, so thats great, but sans ng tube, i'm getting by pretty okay with ibuprofen and tylenol with the occasional non-standard opioid. i've been home since tuesday, oct 10th; had a check in with a gp yesterday, oct 13th, and i'm healing well. staples will be removed on the 18th and theoretically i'll be able to keep them >:3c

i'm back to eating semi-normally. still on bowel rest, but it's not as strict as it was before and it's mostly because i am paranoid vs anything required by my doctors. i haven't been nauseous since i went under on oct 4th which is absolutely wild, and i've been experiencing hunger at normal, regular intervals including being able to eat breakfast shortly after i wake up, which i haven't been able to do without a high chance of barfing it back up immediately since i was a teenager

first oncology appt is on oct 23rd. sounds like itll be mostly setting up a plan and schedule for things like regular scans to watch for regrowth and possibly referrals for genetic testing

16. What are your writing strengths?

i think i've gotten pretty good at little self-contained one shots. if you give me a prompt i can smash it out even if i have no personal interest in the story. and i like to think that i've gotten somewhat good at casefics, given how much i like writing and reading them

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i'm always down for it! definitely no italisicing, though. i've been reading fic whose source material is chinese for long enough that now it annoys me so much to see italics for words in other languages in published books. i love stuff like mouse-over translations, but it's also fun to keep the reader guessing, and having them either go translate it themselves or just not entirely understand what's being said. there are a handful of published books i've read where you just can't translate some of the stuff, and it makes for a fun reading experience!

am currently working on a neocities site (which i cannot give you the url for yet because im working on the css still and there's no content also it looks ugly still) and oh man does it take me back to ye olde days of custom theme editing on here. i still use a custom theme obvs but back in like 2014/2015ish when i was really into indie rp custom themes were all the rage and you would spend hours editing some character specific image for your bg and then another several hours trying to make the css line up with your image (never at any point did i attempt to actually like. learn html or css. i just read other people's theme codes and edited the parts i could understand and solved problems as they arose. i distinctly remember one time i was using a base that had two sidebars and i only wanted one and deleting the section broke the theme in disastrous ways [bc i had no idea what i was doing] so i literally just made all the elements in the sidebar transparent and moved them off the screen LMAO. the best i ever got was moving from fully built custom themes that i edited to base themes that i built off of)

anyway while im slightly better now (im even reading tutorials! am i following them? sorry i have to go i think someones calling me) i am using a layout builder to build the homepage so it is even more reminding me of mid-2010s tumblr. much like building off a base theme, and definitely easier to understand than tumblr theme building (this time i at least know what all the different pieces of code are doing, even when im not sure how or why, or how to duplicate the effect under slightly different circumstances. but progress is progress!).

a good but annoying thing about the layout that im using is that i havent actually edited the site wide stylesheet, just used internal css on that one page, so when i go to make literally any other page i'll have to start from scratch. this is good because i am learning a lot and i think without doing it this way i would end up with a bunch of useless stuff in the stylesheet that really should be page-specific that i would have to correct with internal or inline css later. annoying because what do you mean i have to make decisions about the sizing and positions of the content? i literally just did that

also im kind of nervous to touch the general stylesheet because im pretty sure what i'll actually want to do is have a couple of stylesheets for different 'sections' of the website, to maintain cohesion between pages of the 'same' type but still allow a lot of fun customization on a per-page basis, but that requires deciding what 'sections' i want on the website and that is a whole other can of worms. but also you can't start without starting so i should probably just try to build a really simple layout and go from there (after all, if it sucks, it's not like i can't just create a new stylesheet, or do the css for each page independently until i hit a groove that's actually worth moving to the stylesheet). but also first i have to finish this goddamn homepage. which means i gotta find a header image that doesn't look ugly as shit

not to sound like a copycat, but my fave is also Mikey 🤭!! 2k12 has a special place with me because it was my intro to the turtles, but 2k3 is phenomenal- also, the 2007 movie whenever i want Leo & Raph angst lmao. that rooftop fight scene in the rain 💔 hmmmm okay SO initially my fave pair was Raph and Mikey, but then in my most recent rewatch, i was like 👀 the Leo and Mikey dynamic sooooo maybe a tie between those two?? but also pretty much anyone with Mikey is a+. it’s so hard to pick. and this isn’t a pair necessarily, but donnie pov things where he’s like analyzing his role/relationships- i am an absolute sucker for those.

Ahhh that makes me so happy that you're also a Mikey stan! I have such fond memories of laughing while watching 2k12. I was sooo sad when Leo's original voice actor got fired and replaced though. His voice fit so perfectly with the other turtles. That's the one thing about 2k12 that makes me 😭. Well, that, and the season they spent most of in space. I preferred the NYC based seasons. But other than that, 2k12 was fun and angsty. Plus it had the cheese phone! *gasp* The cheese phone! Truly an emergency! It also had the scene of Tiger Claw trying to get Mikey, and Mikey just like... throwing himself off of the subway train or whatever the hell it was. Ahh that was a good season for some little Mikey hurt/comfort moments.

Ohh yes the famous Raph and Leo 2k7 movie fight. I'll be honest, I can't really stand the entire plot of that movie, and I also hate the fact that they cut the scene of Donnie telling Splinter he couldn't have any birthday cake bc of his health, and Mikey then sneaking Splinter a piece of cake 😭. 2k7 is also funny because it's Splinter being like, "Leonardo, you must go learn to be a leader by yourself in the middle of nowhere." And it's like, uh idk, sounds like he kinda needs a team to practice leading alksdja. Why did he even need to practice at all 😭.

Yeees the Mikey and Raph dynamic is stellar, and if you haven't read the IDW comics, I love the moments they have together in that as well. Lol now I'm thinking of that scene in 2k3 where Mikey was pretending to be hurt, and Raph was like, "What is it, Mikey?? I'm right here." And then Mikey just laughed at him ASLKDJA. Love when they annoy each other but also act soft/loving to each other.

I love Donnie and Mikey. They're the fun adhd/autism duo, and I love that some ROTTMNT stans refer to them as the smarts and crafts duo. Smarts and crafts 😭. That's so cute 😭. And yeees love Donnie POV things.

I really like second person as a device and I just refuse to acknowledge things that use like blanks or the Y/N device lol. Realizing this totally changed the way I like to write. I think second person is excellent for storytelling. Leaving the reader insert extremely vague and writing from the perspective of the character is SO fun.

This completely nonsensical fallout raider gangbang. I rarely enjoy reading or writing OC x OC works, but I really unlocked something in my brain with this fic. I am so in love with the characters, they still live in my head. I wanted it to be SILLY DUMB and it was just so much fun to write. This is the most "me" I think of anything I've ever written, and I fully just went balls to the wall ridiculously porny and it was so much fun.

We have such similar ideas of characterization for this DUMB movie that for some reason we're obsessed with. OH! This Yautja harem x OC work I found, literally I've never had the patience for LONG LONG fics before but I honestly wish there was MORE of this. I loved!! the characters and everyone involved, the story was so smutty and good. You dont need to know shit about predator lore this fic may as well be its own story. This fanfic is better than any smutty xenophilia/monsterfuckery romance book that i've ever read.

@brimbrimbrimbrim 's Vigilante x reader fic was so much fun, characterized SO well. It was silly fun and I loved it hahaha like I love this author but this fic really stuck out to me hahaha.

Writing goals for 2023:

I'd like to just bite the bullet and submit to publications as well as random magazine challenges or whatever else. I often debate whether I should or shouldnt for so long that I then miss the deadline for the actual challenge lmao! I submitted to a few horror magazines as well as some poems to indie publications asking for submissions this year but I'd like to just submit as much as I possibly can because fuck it y'know. This year, I got ONE poem selected to be in a book and then it was actually removed from the eventual publication coming out in 2023 so like... lmao?

New Works:

I've actually been editing my short story horror anthology off and on, cleaning it up and formatting it and all the boring shit. I'm looking to trad pub or at least submit certain stories to challenges. I'm also hoping to saddle up and adapt my raider gangbang fanfic into a more developed story that I'll eventually KDP publish. As for fanfics, I've got SO many fkn horror baddies x readers in the works rn, and like 21u314398240 90% done fanfics that I just need to edit and publish to ao3 lol.

[Magi reread; special edition] Episode 1: Aladdin and Alibaba [Part 1]

Lmao, yeah. Ofc I'm also rewatching it. Btw, you'll proobably see some Polish subtitles, sorry in advance. Usually, if I cut some pic, it's because I tried to cut out the subs.

Starting off strong with Aladdin screaming his throat dry (I feel that rn, but also, man, that's some good screaming, I give it to the VA, you can really feel how he's seriously losing it here).

Also, I didn't remember the animation being this pretty. Like, my mind is still on that scene with Ja'far attacking Cassim, and the dart being a bit too slow, which made it look kinda awkward ngl. But, well, first three episodes tend to look best.

But also, in the manga it was less breakdown-y. I actually like how the anime shows more desperation in Aladdin than the manga does, in which he's pretty chill about it all (unless we're shown him losing it in some later flashback, in which case I don't remember.).

I like that we don't find out what's Aladdin's wish until later. But also, you know what? That was such a good way to cut it! Ugo tells him he'll grant his wish, and Aladdin repeats "My wish...?", and is IMMEDIATELY cut by V.I.P.'s "All my wishes are finally within my reach". Say what you want abt the anime adaptation, but that was an awesome choice here.

I'm kinda skipping the OP, I'll probably go about it in another post.

Overall, there's a bit more interactions with some random people. You get the general impression that Alibaba is pretty well-liked here.

Also, something I meant to point out - I know it's not some ground-breaking discovery, but in the anime you very much get the feel that Alibaba is the protagonist instead of Aladdin, and, yeah. You very much do. Aladdin might've got the first scene, but for some reason you do feel like Alibaba's already got more focus. Though that might be because we learn more about him faster. In the manga Aladdin had an entire chapter to be established as a character first, but here we've got that one (1) scene, and then we have Alibaba working, interacting with others (they comment of how hard he's working), chatting about Budel, and him having a "I'm working to reach my goal" moment, like, that's a lot of information compared to what Aladdin's got. Aladdin meanwhile has only got that breakdown scene, which, honestly, tells us very little about him. Just that he's ectremely desperate to get out, so he was probably stuck there for a long time. Like, it does kind of play well to Aladdin's general mysteriousness, but also makes Alibaba steal the spotlight a bit. Which will be a bit of a trend for at least the first few episodes.

So, a small thing is that Alibaba comes off as a bit more confident here, at least regarding the Dungeon thing. In the manga it looks more like him daydreaming a bit, while here he's like >:/ I'm serious.

Also, now that I think about it, it's another case of the focus being shifted from Aladdin to Alibaba. In the manga in that scene you're watching Aladdin freak out behind Alibaba, whereas here you can actually see Alibaba's expression a bit (not on this photo, sorry), and you can't really see Aladdin's face at all.

Instead he started to monologue about dungeons, lmao. That's actually another difference - in the manga Aladdin doesn't care about the dungeons and Alibaba's monologue, but here he's actually curious about them, and listens to Alibaba's explanation.

in general, i like to think that souta is very egotistical yet somehow also very charismatic and outgoing. he probably gets annoying when he gets too far up his own ass, but it's how he deals with the hard work he puts in to be an idol without results (or so he thinks). he finds himself losing a bit of hope every new day because he's been doing this shit for so long... and with an injury he got when he had just started training, which almost impacted his future career.

in some of his very first few weeks of being accepted into the company, he fell on his shoulder doing rec activities during some down time (or however it works lmao), which gave him an injury he had to basically force himself to work through. due to this, it's definitely not healed right, but it's good enough in order to keep him thriving in the company and working towards his debut. still, it hurts on and off, and he tries his own physical therapy for it, but you know, it be hard sometimes ya feel.

uhmmm... i think otherwise he's a hotshot. i like to think he's the one that's always searched up on pinterest or when people scroll the profiles of groups, they always stop to double take him. that's part of his ego ish, because he knows he's hot shit and people turn heads at his appearance. it sometimes gets in the way of his logical thinking, but you know, he's a kid... so what do you expect?

on another note that i wanted to mention... he used to want to be a basketball player, and if he didn't go into the idol industry, he would have 100%
