anxiety. anxiety feels more like a biiig heavy rock on your chest. you try to breathe, but it's quietly impossible. your only thoughts are blurred, you can't think rational, everything is your enemy. it's impossible to stand and you feel lonely, but not in the normal way. you think you are the only person who can hear you. you are screaming on the inside, and sit still on the outside. that is what anxiety feels like for me.

Ascendance of a bookworm is really funny cause it’s just the tale of an autistic man who takes everything too literally, struggling to save (from herself) an autistic girl who takes everything EVEN MORE LITERALLY

Soap who’s tried to get into reading, but just never had it click.

Ghost who’s an absolute bookworm and finds an escape in whatever old, battered paperback he can get his hands on.

Ghost, who introduces Soap to audiobooks. Who shows him he can do things with his hands to keep him stimulated enough to actually listen and absorb the story for once.

Soap, who tries it, a little more than skeptical but willing to give it a shot at least once. Who listens to an entire book in a day without realizing, totally lost in the twists and turns.

Soap, who finally gets it. Soap, who can finally escape into those same fantastical worlds with ghost. And ghost, who’s happy to share his escape with him.

Just finished Ascendance of a Bookworm 4.6 and I am cackling! Poor Syl, Kars, and Ferdi 😂 Their responses were gold. The understandable ‘how?!’ and ‘why?!’ were a delight to read.

Also I can’t believe Rozemyne wrote her reports like that. Even if others are missing some details everyone else’s report seemed like a report. But Mynes? Why did hers read like a text to a friend at the end of the day? (Spoilers)
