Things that make me a real star wars fan:

the og battlefront games are some of my favorite games ever

I've read over 100 of the books

I've read most of the pre-disney star wars comics, including the strips from the 70s and 80s, and many of the post Disney comics

I played all the Lego star wars games as a kid and then paid to play them again with the Skywalker saga

the 2003 clone wars specials are some of my favorite animated media ever, and I've watched the clone wars series several times over

I rewatch the OT and PT about every 3 months and actually force people to celebrate may the 4th and may the 6 with me

I own star wars Lego sets. Yes the small ones, but even those are overpriced. Still own them though.

I've watched most of the Disney+ cashgrabs shows

when I went to comic con the only thing I bought was a han solo art print that I got signed by the artist (I then left early because I have autism and had an autistic meltdown. I haven't gone to a convention since but I want to try them again, so if you're autistic give me tips you use at conventions pls!!)

Another way TBB S3 was disappointing to me: Crosshair's redemption arc goes into how loyalty is one of his big motivators, yet Tech's loyalty to him when he insisted they go after Crosshair and subsequently was lost on that same mission is NOT ONCE BROUGHT UP.

The number of ways the emotional impact of Tech's death is just flat out ignored is really grating to me and it's why I struggle to enjoy the season at all. Not even just his absence--though ofc that sucks too--but that his absence is only felt as a series of missing skills and in random asides. Where's Crosshair feeling especially raw over the fact that the moment Tech knew Cross was still loyal to them he was ready to come and fetch him, and died trying?

Never not going to be bitter about all the emotional beats which were thoroughly and completely ignored.

The Bad Batch as People You See at a Taylor Swift Concert (in Honor of Crosshair being a Swiftie)

Hunter- The dad who’s a little confused but he’s got the spirit. He knows a few words to the popular songs and is looking around to make sure everyone is being safe and having a good time. Will let someone use his phone to call someone if they’re lost. Probably wearing a Chiefs shirt with “Go Taylor’s boyfriend” written on it or something similar.

Wrecker- The person with over a thousand friendship bracelets that they made to exchange and give away to people. The most wholesome person at the concert who afterwards will be in everyone’s story time videos as a wholesome and positive anecdote. Probably dressed as the Lover Era or 1989 Era.

Tech- Explaining all the lore, hidden meanings, and Easter eggs in the songs. Has very strong opinions and theories and can and will engage in debate (all in good fun of course).

Crosshair- Dressed as the Reputation Era of course. The person recording parts of the concert and singing at the top of their lungs the whole time. Somehow knows all the words to every song. Cries so hard during certain songs that you’re genuinely concerned for their health and wonder who hurt them (he’s just like me fr)

Omega- The kid at their first concert (this was me during the Speak Now Tour!) who is very excited to see Taylor Swift and probably first got into her from an older influence (Crosshair) being a fan of hers. Most likely dressed in Speak Now or Fearless Era, but could also be Lover.

Echo- The mom having the time of her life who may or may not have dressed up with her kiddos. Probably tipsy or drunk and spends the whole concert either singing and dancing along or taking a million pictures of her kids. Probably will also engage in very passionate discussions, either with Tech or with someone else; probably has personal beef with at least one of Taylor’s exes.

so i kinda want to talk more about this. The Acolyte and Qimir.

Qimir's true identity was a surprise to me because it felt like there were no smart hints at him being sith. none of the jedi got funny feelings around him. Mae didn't even recognize that the person behind the mask and her goofy accomplice were similar. he mentioned Mae's master would be mad she was using weapons because she wasn't supposed to but? he was her master and let her do it? the reveal seemed so out of left field, shocking for shock value alone. i read that his identity wasn't even supposed to be revealed until season 2, so maybe there was supposed to be more buildup to that moment? doing a subversive character who appears one way but is actually another takes a lot of nuance that just wasn't there. it's extremely hard to change a character from "just a lil guy" to big baddie. and yeah, i know he's in hiding and the whole point of this front is to trick everyone into thinking he is actually harmless (y'know aside from making poisons and whatever other malicious side jobs he does). he literally kills some of our main characters as soon as he's revealed (rip Yord, i'll miss you). but because of his previous presentation it just felt like a joke to me? their deaths all had this dreamlike, this isn't real quality to the point i have to remind myself that these characters are actually dead. i could not become invested in the rest of the episode because him being sith took me so far out of the immersion. idk if this is going too far in the crybaby direction, so i'll just say this characterization was not executed well in my opinion.

i must have missed it, because i was so confused, but apparently Kylo's theme plays after he's revealed? which i read was a very intentional choice. so, my preferences aside and lore cap on... is Qimir possibly the founder of the Ren? the concept that the knights of Ren are based on? This is the gist of the ideology:

which actually does track so far with Qimir's seemingly random choices. also, Ren, the person Kylo kills to become the leader of the knights of Ren, wears a helmet which is vaguely similar to the one Qimir wears. both helmets have the eyes entirely covered by metal. this would essentially make the wearer blind, if they weren't force-sensitive. "The Ren" is a lightsaber Ren carries on him (i know this is all very confusing, bear with me). perhaps as a tie into the sequels, Qimir's saber eventually goes on to become The Ren. this all could mean that the ideology Kylo attaches himself to all the way in the sequels has roots in sith history in the high republic era. i do love a tie-in, but i wish this reveal hadn't been rushed.

the person, the lightsaber, and the ideology are all called "Ren". don't know who decided that, but it makes explaining or reading about it impossible.

I was Googling for The Clone Wars quote in this Reddit thread (I have a silly idea). The topic veered into female Clones, in a way that has aged like fine bananas. OK, the thread is four years old. And we still don't know why the Kaminoans made Omega or Emerie. One assumes it was not to be sex drones for the men. 🤮

On a personal note, I'm very content that I found this corner of the Star Wars fandom here on Tumblr.

last drawing! I finished doing this 2 minutes ago (ADHD hit hard this week) I'm not very happy with the quality of what I did (me parece horrible perdon) but hey, at least I did it, right? Today we have the last member of the bad batch! I hope he doesn't die a second time, but who knows. the first chapters come out in 8 hours! I plan to sleep until 4am since it's going to leave at that time :D very excited. well I hope you liked all the drawings
