Early reviews of Secret Invasion are encouraging (but not perfect). Of course it was hard for me to believe Samuel L. Jackson and Olivia Coleman would deliver bad performances. (I have seen SLJ give amazing reads to the worst dialogue ever written.) I worry that Marvel has some of the best talent and often lets the characters down.
And this was does feel a bit "forced" because the Skrulls have long been villains in the Marvel Comics, and are famous for the "Secret Invasion" run in the comics where a key member of the Avengers was revealed to be a Skrull shape-shifter.
But Captain Marvel made them refugees. Maybe not perfect, but sympathetic. So how do you do you adapt that famous run without the Skrulls being total dicks?
Apparently they are made because Captain Marvel and Fury never did find them a new planet to live on (this seems odd. If they couldn't find a planet certainly there could be something like Knowhere where a group could live? Why did they come back to Earth? They love our gravity?)
Things will have to be a bit more nuanced than comics fans are used to. Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), his wife Soren and their daughter Gi'ah (Emilia Clarke) are all known as nice and helpful, but also as reasoning species. (Oftentimes in the comics, it's like "our queen is evil so no we all are. That explains everything you need to know.")
I'm glad I don't have to root against Emilia Clarke though. There had been rumors she was playing Veranke (the aforementioned evil queen who makes the evil Skrulls do evil things) and I was very relieved when it was confirmed she was playing adult Gi'ah (the child appeared in Captain Marvel). And I don't want to see my queen destroy any more cities.
I also demand she and Monica Rambeau hang out in the future.
IDK. I am cautiously optimistic about this.

[Kinktober 2021: Macro/Micro (18+)]
SangCheng | Mo Dao Zu Shi 01-10-2021
Day 1: R̷i̷m̷m̷i̷n̷g̷ / [MacroMicro] / T̷i̷c̷k̷l̷i̷n̷g̷
Jiang Cheng get hits by a curse that makes him a doll size, thankfully it was a conjoint night hunt with qinghe. Nie Huaisang takes care of him and decides to have some fun.
=====
Jiang Cheng couldn’t believe he had been this careless to be hit by a curse. He was now shrunk to the size of a doll and he was certain he wasn’t bigger than 30 cm. Of course, in his misfortune his sword couldn’t have shrunk with him, so now he was stuck in a random forest in the qinghe nie territory without any way to move safely and take his sword with him.
After what seemed like hours of waiting on a tree branch, he was finally found by one of the nie cultivators, who called for everyone to come. Everyone was somewhat unsure as to what they should do, but jc decided to go back to the unclean realm. They were already staying there and it was also closer.
All jc could do was look sour when they finally met Nie Huaisang again, the fellow sect leader hiding behind his fan as he tried not to laugh. “I have to apologise for the inconvenience, I would ask if it is possible to extend our stay until we figure out how to cure our sect leader,” one of the disciples said politely.
“No need for apologies” smiled nhs, his gaze turning to slj “It is important to turn your sect leader to a regular size”. With that, some disciples were tasked to investigate where it had happened, jc staying behind with nhs for “safety reasons”.
“It would be bad if someone accidentally step on you” nhs smile.+
And so jc was taken everywhere nhs was going, until his duties were over and he returned to his room, putting jc on his painting table. Had it been someone else jc would probably have been mad that someone was playing around with him.
“A-cheng is really cute like this” nhs smiled, adoring the way the tiny leader became redder than he would usually get. “No am not, I am annoyingly small and weak” he added. Nhs simply hummed at that, taking his brush to gently poke at him “I still think a-cheng is the cutest”.
Jc was about to argue when a startled moan escaped him, the hard tip of the brush having brushed over his nipple. This seemed to spark something deep in nhs as he did it again, jc trying to push away the offending object “Stop it!” he said, as red as before as his nipples were getting hard from the teasing and rubbing on against his tight clothes.
“no~” nhs replied, his hand approaching jc to lift him up again so he cannot run away, instead, grabbing at his fingers so he doesn’t fall to the ground. “Nie Huaisang!”.
Nhs only chuckled as meticulous and careful hands try to open his robes. This only made jc blush harder than before, trying to push his hand away. “but a-cheng, isn’t it painful to stay trapped in your robe like this? I promise you will really enjoy this~”.
Jc sighed at that, shifting uncomfortably in nhs hands. It was getting uncomfortable now that he was hard and well, it /was/ nhs so he supposed it was alright. It wasn’t as if they had never really experienced anything together before. He was simply nervous because he was now so small. “Be careful” he mumbled only to receive a happy humming, nhs taking him back to the desk after grabbing a cushion he could put him on.
So nhs went back to slowly peeling back every layer of clothing, placing it on the table neatly. When he was done, he simply looked at jc, making the smaller man look away. Truly jc was beautiful from head to toe and seeing him all flustered and excited was also a good sight.
He took back his brush from before, using the soft tip to go and tease jc’s nipples again, delighted by how jc was slowly letting little moans without too much restraint. He then went to tease his erection, enjoying how jc was both chasing after the brush and moving away from it. He kept going like this, making a moaning mess out of his fellow sect leader. He was even more pleased when he managed to make him come two times with his ministration.
“a-cheng can you turn around for me~~” nhs asked, jc following his request still in a daze. He did yelp when he felt delicate hands lift up his hips, placing him on all four and forcing his shoulder down a bit.
“Nhs what are you doaaAh" he tried asking before feeling a tongue play with his ass and semi-hard cock. If nhs kept going like this his cock would get overstimulated. Nhs only pulls back after a moment, something a bit cold falling on his ass. He was about to turn around and ask nhs what he was doing when he froze upon feeling something hard touching his rim.
He was a bit unsure when he saw the hard tip of a brush against him. He shivered a bit as the rounded tip caught on his rim a bit as nhs was gently circling around it. “Don't worry a-cheng I will go gently on you~” he did wait for jc to nod before going further, carefully putting the tip in. And gentle he was, carefully moving the tip inside of jc as to not hurt him, trying to find that sweet button that would make jc even more dazed than he already was, making the young sect leader shake on the cushion as the upper part of his body had fully collapsed on the cushion now, moaning and moving his hips with nhs movements.
Nhs repeated the movements that seemed to get the sweetest moan out of him, a finger also teasing his dick who was back to full attention. He could probably go all day like this were it not for jc not having endless stamina.
He still enjoys jc being all sluty for him, moving his hips hungrily to meet with the brush so it could brush against his prostate, sending a spark of pleasure up his spine. He came two more times this way before fully collapsing on the cushion.
Nhs laid his head down on the table, a finger gently patting his hair, pushing strands away from his face as best as he could. He stopped when jc hugged the finger close to himself. “Let’s get you clean and sleep a bit” smile nhs, ready to get up to prepare a little basin to make it a small bath.
“What about you?” jc asked as he held onto his finger more, his eyes travelling lower to where he could not see nhs crotch. “I am alright” he smiled, giving a kiss on the crown of his head, “Plus I doubt little a-cheng has enough energy for that, but you can always pay me back when you get back to normal~~”.
Jc rolled his eyes at that, letting nhs lift him up again, face red at the idea of repaying him. As if he would not.

Marvellous.
“She doesn’t lay down, she gets back up. I mean, that’s everything. That’s for everybody.” Letterboxd heads back to the 90s with the cast and filmmakers behind Captain Marvel, the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As the last Marvel Cinematic Universe film to be released before next month’s Avengers: Endgame, it’s reasonable to think that Captain Marvel might’ve been in jeopardy of being overshadowed by the anticipation for the follow-up to last year’s Avengers: Infinity War. Together, these two epics more or less define the modern blockbuster, and cast a wide shadow.
But in actuality, Captain Marvel is in very little danger of being eclipsed by her studio stablemate, thanks primarily to the many ways the 21st entry in the Marvel canon sets itself apart from every MCU film that has come before it.
Brie Larson as Vers/Carol Danvers.
For one thing, it’s set in the 1990s, and boy does it have the musical cues to prove it. More significantly, it is the first MCU film to center around a female character, played by Oscar-winner Brie Larson. It’s also the first MCU film to have a woman calling the shots: Anna Boden, who co-directed with her longtime collaborator Ryan Fleck.
While technically an origin story, Captain Marvel’s plot unfolds in a significantly different way compared to other MCU films—it’s a journey of retrospective self-discovery. When we first meet her, Larson’s character is already a super-powered intergalactic badass known as Vers, and a member of the alien Kree Empire-based strike team Starforce, led by her mentor Yon-Rogg (Jude Law).
A mission brings them to planet Earth in the mid-90s, where Vers meets a somewhat sunnier-than-we’ve-come-to-expect Nick Fury (played by a digitally de-aged Samuel L. Jackson) and a green young agent named Coulson (Clark Gregg, also digitally de-aged). Here she encounters Maria Rambeau (English actress Lashana Lynch), who has a connection to Vers’ forgotten past as Carol Danvers, test pilot.
Marvel Studios has once again selected its directorial talent from the world of independent cinema (hello, Taika Waititi), despite the fact that Boden and Fleck’s past filmography contains very little that suggests a proficiency with super-heroics.
From left: Ryan Fleck, Ben Mendelsohn and Anna Boden on set.
Their last film was the boat-gambling drama Mississippi Grind (which co-starred Captain Marvel scene-stealer Ben Mendelsohn), and they’re probably still best known for 2006’s Half Nelson (directed by Fleck, written by them both), in which Ryan Gosling gave an Oscar-nominated performance as a drug-addicted middle school teacher.
Nevertheless, it has proven to be another good call on Marvel’s part, as the directing pair has delivered something pretty special here.
At a recent press event featuring several cast and crew, along with Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige, Larson kicked things off by explaining what about the character appealed to her:
Brie Larson: There’s a lot to love about her, which is why I was really excited to do this. In particular, the idea of playing a superhero, or a female superhero in particular because my interest is in female complexity. I was a little worried about playing a superhero that would be perfect, because I don’t feel like that’s realistic, or something aspirational at all. So getting to play a character where the whole character arc and turn of this is watching her be this major risk taker, which means it’s not always going to work out the best. And those are the moments, the defining moments of her character, where she doesn’t lay down, she gets back up. I mean, that’s everything. That’s for everybody. There isn’t a person who can’t relate to that, I don’t think.
On how Boden and Fleck got the job: Kevin Feige: It’s their focus on character. And our belief that they wouldn’t have lost the character, amongst the spectacle and the fun and the effects. Anna spoke very eloquently about Carol Danvers and that female hero. It was those early meetings and their amazing body of work that made us realize they could bring Carol to life.
Kevin Feige and Brie Larson.
On making the leap from indies to blockbusters: Ryan Fleck: I think in the early conversations with Kevin and with Brie, that’s what we wanted to bring to this story, a continuation of the things we had done in our other movies, which is an intimacy and character-focused storytelling. The visual effects were challenging at first for us, but we were working with the best in the business here and they’ve done, you know, one or two of these movies before we got here. We were in good hands and we were able to lean on them and work very collaboratively with the effects team and learn how that works. And they were patient with us and it was wonderful. I can’t think of a better studio to take that leap with. I mean, they are just the best collaborators at Marvel. They really let us tell the story we wanted to tell.
On what she learned making the film: Anna Boden: I think I realized over the course of making this movie that I’m, as a person, kind of more comfortable hiding and not being seen. And I think this process, the whole process has helped me, you know, be more confident in my voice and just be more comfortable. I’m not very comfortable right now; I’ve got to be honest. But a little bit more comfortable just being seen.
On the friendship between Carol and Maria forming the emotional core of the film: BL: That’s kind of what we’re talking about in this film, without being too [showboaty] about it, this is the love of the movie; this is the great love. This is the love lost. This is the love found again. This is the reason to continue fighting and to go to the ends of the earth for the person, the thing that you love. And it’s her best friend and her best friend’s daughter. Which to me is so natural. I went and saw the movie with some people and it was like an hour later, they were like, “Oh Maria’s the love.” Like, yeah! So it’s not something that we made a big deal about, but it just feels so natural because that love is so strong.
Lashana Lynch and Brie Larson.
Lashana Lynch: They’re both in the military, so they come from male-dominated environments where they were drawn towards the women. They would find power in whoever they find energetic connections to. I think they had a sarcasm together. Carol is just a normal person. She’s able to be every facet of what a woman represents today—sarcastic, dry, funny—she can kick men down and throw them into different parts of the universe.
On representation in blockbuster cinema: BL: I’m just doing what I can do based upon my experience and my one body, which is why representation on screen is so important. Because not one of us can tell the entire story. We can only tell our piece of it. But with films like this that do end up going international—with smaller movies you don’t know; sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t—it means you get to have a really extensive conversation with movies like this and I’m so grateful that this film has so many pockets in it. If you want to just enjoy it, you totally can. But there are a lot of aspects to it that I think are worth, you know, talking with your friends about, talking with your family about—and so when you have a multi-cultural, global conversation like that, I think it allows all of us through the veil of metaphor to be able to reveal some deeper truths and maybe empathize in a new way.
On what she took away from the film: LL: My forever appreciation for single mothers, who don’t get enough light shone on them ever. So to be able to have that opportunity to represent them and say like, “I’d kind of like a universal thank you for your work,” was really special. Actually I went to my mum and other mums I know afterwards and was like, “Can I just just say thanks for everything that you’ve done for the last however many years.” And it really goes a long way just to say thank you daily. Because then they’re able to feed back to other mothers and say, you know, we’re actually doing an all right job. We’re actually enough. And so that’s what I’ve taken away. I feel like I’m not only representing women, I’m representing black women. I’m representing single mothers and representing women in the military and that’s pretty damn special.
On working opposite Reggie, the ginger cat who plays Goose, the film’s breakout character and a foil to Nick Fury throughout: Samuel L. Jackson: I am not a cat person. But I’m also not a dog, bird or a fish person, either. So I just don’t engage pets. You know, Reggie is like most animals that people bring to set that have been trained to do this, that or the other—he’s snack-oriented. You give him something to eat, he shows up. And there were actually four cats, but Reggie did the majority, he did the heavy lifting most of the time.
A digitally de-aged Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
On what they miss most from the 90s: RF: VHS tapes.
AB: Pay phones. Because then I wouldn’t have to check my email all the time.
Clark Gregg: I wish MTV had videos again. I mean, not just 90s MC Hammer, which were awesome, but just videos, music videos.
Gemma Chan (Starforce assassin Minn-Erva): Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
SLJ: Laser discs.
BL: He is very passionate about laser discs, by the way. That’s not a joke. [Mine is] Butterfly clips.
Jude Law: I was a big fan of the band The Verve. They were The Verve and then they were just Verve. Richard Ashcroft is on his own now. Sad.
LL: R&B. R&B was the truth, man. The truth!
KF: Video stores. I miss walking around video stores.
‘Captain Marvel’ is in theaters from March 8.

You’re a mace windu fan? :DDDDDDDD
VERY MUCH SO. There's not as much content for me to reblog/ping off of, but I’ve always liked his character, the responsibilities he had and just the sheer scope of what he was dealing with as Master of the Order, as well as the feel I got from him about how deeply he cared about the Jedi and the Republic.I tend to gravitate towards characters like that--who are dealing with a lot and it’s not always easy, but who handle it with the gravitas it deserves. Who may be reserved, but if I really watch them for any amount of time, I can easily feel that deep care they have that drives them.Who get to have moments of badassery that I love (Mace in the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon and comics is AMAZING for that!) but that ultimately I love even more for their devotion and loyalty to what they hold dear and the balance they achieve between their strong emotions and mastery of themselves, because they know what they could do without control of themselves.I loved watching him struggle with that fire as a padawan, how intensely he felt righteousness and the anger at people who do bad things, how he had to learn to hold true to that but temper it, get it under his control before it got him under its control.I loved watching him deal with the bigger picture for the Republic and the Jedi, trying to put things together as best as he could, because he really does believe in the Republic and he whole-heartedly loves the Jedi.I love that SLJ got a chance to play a character who wasn’t a “I AM TIRED OF THESE MOTHERFUCKING SNAKES ON THIS MOTHERFUCKING PLANE” type, that Mace is an interesting and complicated character that we don’t get enough of.I say it in kind of a joking way, but I’m entirely serious that my #2 wish for a Star Wars stand-alone move is a Mace Windu movie. I want to see him deal with the genocide of the Jedi, I want to see him struggle with the loss of purpose and his family and his culture, I want to see him struggle to get back on his feet after the loss of his arm and the deeper losses, to stand back up and face Darth Vader as a Jedi, that you make strike us down individually, Skywalker, but ultimately they will rise again, while the Sith will not.

Kong Skull Island
A very interesting take on a modern classic. The cgi work was completely on far with the hype of the movie. The casting choices for the movie were great all the actors brought not only their own skills to the movie but made each of those skills work together in a big was. Tom Hiddleston played a great hero opposite Samuel L Jackson who though was not exactly the villain played a great anti hero. I am a big fan of war related movies as well as the actual history of wars in American history. Looking at the costumes and equipment most of not all of it was accurate and relevant to the Vietnam era and also the World War 2 era. One thing that stood out to me with this movie was that withing the first 30 minutes we are introduced to Kong and also enter into one of the biggest action sequences of the movie, with just enough build up to give suspense of what is coming. The back story was very well written and shows that on screen. Each actor does a great job of portraying their individual emotions for the situations they are placed in; for example we see that the emotion of Samuel L Jackson is the focus on revenge from the lose of the war in Vietnam, driving him to lose focus on survival and to kill Kong ultimately leading to his death by Kong. On a funny note there was an awesome reference to Jurassic Park if it was caught; and the group is getting ready to fly for the island SLJ tells his guys to “remember to hold onto their your butts,” if you will recall when he is launching the vehicles in Jurassic Park the also tells the passengers to hold onto their butts, also as the car is entering the park Jeff Goldblum asks if they have King Kong in the park.
In the end I would rate this movie at a 8/10

Hawkeye Finale Predictions (Possibly Spoilers)
— Yelena gets to see the tree at Rock Center during the big fight. Yay. Sightseeing and fighting? Win/win. She will probably go back to Val as a double agent going into “Dark Avengers”. (I would honestly love an appearance of SLJ here but it’s probably too much to hope for. But he WAS Clint, Nat and probably Laura’s boss.)
— Laura Barton was the original Ronin. This is something Nat knew that Rhodey didn’t understand in “Endgame.” The watch is the proof somehow.
— Another scene of Derrick Bishop (either Eleanor killing him or him not being dead as a tag)
— Jacques is trying to infiltrate Kingpin’s organization. Or will end up being useful in some way. I know him as Clint’s mentor in the comics, and I was expecting that. But he’s clearly got skills. He has also worked for Black Widow and the Mandarin in the comics. I sort of like the idea that Nat or Xialing sent him. (He was also killed by Kang in the comics so we shouldn’t rule out some Kang connection. But I think that’d be better saved for “Young Avengers”.)
— big fight will be against the tracksuits and Eleanor, we will see very little Kingpin. (If we see anymore than we have already.)
— Maya will seek revenge on Fisk and her show will be where we will really see him. I was wondering why they green lit a show with an unknown so quickly, even though I do think Alaqua Cox is great. Without fan response how could they be sure people would tune in? Loading her show up with already popular Netflix characters! (Which, honestly, yessss, make the white men support the indigenous disabled deaf actress. That Kingpin is a real ally!)
— Kate finally called Hawkeye after Eleanor is defeated (but probably not killed).
— I am worried about Grills dying.
