You heard another knock bringing you to your front door to open the door for the person outside of your room. "Who is..." You trailed off when you saw your next door neighbor standing in front of you. "Jongseong?" Jongseong sighed, blushing due to his embarrassment. Your words were all that he needed, pushing him to tell you the tiny favor he would like to ask of you. "Well, you see. It's er... can I and Charlotte crash at your place for the night?" Jongseong stuttered a little, trying to compromise, thinking of the right words to make it seem less inappropriate. "It's very important and I promise I won't do anything you don't want me to do," he quickly added.

You rolled your eyes at him, then standing back up knowing just how it had come to this. "Let me guess. Another stalker?" You asked him in a teasing manner, Jongseong immediately shaking his head in denial. You raised him a brow while crossing your arms.

Jongseong was still pressed on denying it, but the look on your face made him do otherwise. He could only sigh in defeat and hang his head low whilst nodding his head looking like a dejected dog, his shoulders slumped down. You gave him a pat on top of his head, practically on top of your toes.

You opened the door for him to enter, gesturing for him to get inside. "Come on in," you welcomed the male into your place, the blonde male replying with a muttered 'thank you' and a smile. Once he's settled inside, you close the door behind you. "Just don't use my apartment room as your new strip club."

Jongseong quickly snapped his head toward you and shook his head. "I promise you none of that will happen," Jongseong reassured you, while you took something out of your dresser's drawer. He hears a soft laugh from you, the taller male realizing that you were just teasing him, making him frown.

"I know. I trust you," you told him before you threw to him a spare key that you kept with you in case you lost the one you're currently using. You popped a loli into your mouth and sucked down the flavor of the sweets. "So, how'd you get in this situation? Again?" You asked him, walking towards your bed and sat on top of it.

Jongseong contemplates, before he looks back at you and your eyes stared back at him with full anticipation. He lets out a sigh. "Well, you see. Tonight, isn't that normal night," he answered, but you didn't completely understand what he meant to which you just stayed silent for, as a signal for the male to continue. "Believe it or not, I didn't bring anyone today because I'm having a test coming up tomorrow," he continued.

"That... still doesn't explain to me why you're getting stalked," you subtly persuade the male to tell you the leading cause of the unnecessary attention, but it didn't have to take any of that since Jongseong is willing to tell you everything. I mean, EVERYTHING.

He laughs softly at how impatient you are. "Just wait and listen," he mocks you in the most polite way possible, afraid that your attitude is brushing onto him. Though you don't meet often, you're the one who practically saves him from your lousy neighbors. So, it's starting to kinda reflect onto him.

You raised your arms and let the male do the speaking. "I asked to be recommended a tutor and found out one of the guys who applied is actually one of my past side flings. The same guy I told you about. The one who endlessly obsessed over me," Jongseong pointed out and you thought for a moment before you snapped your finger and points at Jongseong, your mouth agape in shock. "Yeap, yeah, exactly. I was shocked as well that he found any of my socials. It still got me thinking how he did it." Jongseong seeped air through his teeth, cocking his head to the side.

You got up from where you're sat and patted the male's back. "I may not be able to do anything about.. this. But, you'll be safe here inside," you stated out and went to pick up your towel from the rack to take a shower. "I'll only take a couple of minutes. I better not catch you peeking, Park,"

"Oh, god. Please." Jongseong scoffs at your cocky attitude, then he hears laughter from you before the door to your bathroom is shut closed. As soon as you got hidden inside of your bathroom, Jongseong hears the light taps of Charlotte's paw on the floor approaching him. She had something in here mouth. Jongseong looks at it confused. "What's this?" The male picks it up and draws it near to him. It looked like a pendant. Only it wasn't. He noticed the small crack around it, probably an opening and ran his finger over it, before it slowly opens and a music plays.

The male didn't reply and continued to stare at the item. You chuckled.

You make your way towards him and only then that Jongseong is able to acknowledge your presence. "Oh, you're done? Sorry, I sorta got distracted by this. Whatever this is," Jongseong told you, the smile still etched onto his face. "It's so amazing," Jongseong makes a comment and your face splits into a smile.

You sat on the nearest chair beside the taller male and spoke up. "My dad made it for me," you shared to the male, whose mouth turned an 'o' shape in shock, turning his head to you. "He created it so I'd never feel homesick, but it only made it worse." You let out a light laugh, head hanging a little low, unable to look at Jongseong who found sympathy in you.

"You have a really great father, Y/N," Jongseong said with a soft smile. You lift your face up to look at the other male and decided that that was enough sentiment for the day and chose to tease Jongseong, again.

"And who told you to go snooping around my room?" You smirked, making Jongseong widen his eyes and point at his pet dog, who whimpers and lay flat on the floor while she covered her face with her paws, which you found incredibly cute as though she's able to understand your language. At this point, maybe she does. "I'm just kidding," you stood up from where you are sat and moved to your closet. You are about to get changed.

On instinct, Jongseong turns on his back and puts the pendant down on your table, but there is one thing he couldn't get off his mind. "I'm sorry. Y/N, just minutes ago, did you just call me 'J'?" Jongseong scrunched his face, not able to trust his ears. He might have misheard things.

jake fell for you so naturally.

like the sun rising in the day and the moon chasing after it at night. like the seasons flowing and ebbing from one to another.

jake loves you like it's breathing. it wasn't difficult; it was practically second nature to him to seek you out wherever he went, second nature to have you with him.

though his pride and ego wasn't going to let him confess anytime soon, he revels deeply in the fact that you were always by his side, that you were always going to be giving him your fullest attention no mater what.

jake would choose you a hundred times over, in any lifetime.

"give me your physics worksheet."

like clockwork, you wordlessly slide your file folder over to jake, who sat down noisily at his seat. "you look worse for wear." you lightly commented, not bothering to give him your fullest attention as he languidly takes out his stationery and workbook.

outside, the sun had just started to make its appearance; the warmth from the rays outside indicating the start of a school day.

"yesterday, i stayed out a little longer to play online games with another group of friends; you know them. i wish you were there with me, but you're always studying. anyways, it's kinda surprising my parents hadn't said anything when i got home." even though you hadn't asked, jake provided context, just as he always did.

you never did minded his restless ramblings, and often times you knew he just sought a space to talk.

you hummed in response, preparing your desk for the first class, "yeah, that's because i told your parents that you were revising at mine." that lie you spun to his parents was one well prepared and rehearsed. not to forget, used very often.

"you're a lifesaver. did your parents question anything?" jake glanced sideways at you while flipping to the next page, no doubt to transcribe over whatever you calculated last night.

you shook your head, "they weren't home yesterday. i can't be covering for you all the time, you know?" wagging your fingers at him, jake appeared like a little puppy in front of you and you silently laughed at that image in your head.

"i know. too bad, i guess." jake shoots you a grin, earning him a hard smack from you.

----

"there you are. i've been finding you everywhere, literally all over the school." jake dramatically huffs and puffs at the door of the clubroom, not caring about the other pairs of eyes staring at back him momentarily. you felt heat seep from the center of your body towards the back of your neck and held back a groan at his sudden intrusion.

"jake, i'm in the middle of club activities..." you sighed. your club members were used to jake's antics, not batting an eyelid as they resumed with the issue at hand. he leaned his weight against the door frame, waiting for you to reply to him. you rolled your eyes at the way his face scrunched up in disgust, getting up from your seat to shoo him away.

"what are you doing here?!" you shoved him, no remorse in the way jake hunched over from your push, "hey! i was just reminding you that i'll be waiting for you after your activity-thingy ends. i'm bored playing games with the same people that aren't you."

you rolled your eyes at the way his face scrunched up in disgust, "yeah. i know." you hurriedly nudged him away, "go, go. we're trying to do something here." you tried and failed to hide the smile on your face and he mirrors your action.

"clearly someone appreciates me being here more than they let on. don't be late!" jake goofily salutes you, spinning on his heel and leaving. as soon as he left, everyone cast their gaze (full of mirth and surely humor) over to you as you re-entered the room and you bowed your head in apology, "sorry for the disruption everyone. we can get back to the discussion."

----

"gah...it's so hot!" jake slumps over at his desk, fanning himself with a worn out textbook, the bent shape definitely due to the number of times he's thrown it into his bag pack carelessly. he lightly tugs your forearm, "let's skip self-revision session and go for some ice cream. please?"

"i'm tryna do something here jakey. in a minute, yeah?" you gently pried his sweaty palm off you, totally focused on completing your assignment. you don't catch the way his ears tinge red at the tone of your voice. "okay. in a minute." he repeats your words, crossing and uncrossing his legs beside you.

the classroom was left with a few students revising for the upcoming test and of course, where you were, jake had to be there too.

he leans in close to you, warm breath tickling your ears, "are you done yet?" you flicked his forehead, "i will be if you stop bothering me." jake mimics a zipper over his mouth and puts his head back down on the table. a few times, you caught him fidgeting aimlessly beside you and with the same gentleness, you coaxed him to doing some sort of revision, though you were pretty sure he didn't want to.

he waits and waits: the moment your book flips close, jake perks up, "let's go!" he drags you up and out of your desk against your consent and you laughed at his antics, "yeah, yeah let's get going."

----

epilogue:

"hey, are you and jake a thing or...?"

you jerked up right at your friends question with an eyebrow raised sky high, "does it look like that to you?"

your friend shrugs, "y'all banter like lovers, yet somehow act like siblings. you two are always joined at the hip, even if it's going to the toilet together. he's stood up for you many times, and you have covered for him just the same."

your friend stares daggers into your soul, before leaning back against the creaky school chairs, "you're hiding something, aren't you?"

your silence goes noticed by your friend and almost immediately, "WAIT. do you like sim jaeyun, yes or no?!"

"i...we never put a label on our friendship. we do almost everything together, it would be weird to do it with someone else! i just...i just wanna be with him, you know?" you attempted to clarify, but with the way you were turning pink, your credibility went down as your friend cackled loudly beside you, "someone's in love~!"

The boy is just naturally friendly so you guys became friends very quickly.

Besides that you two were the smart kids in your class.

You weren't really sure if you should text him during this as he was busy and timezones and such.

so you ended up never sending the texts.

So you unfortunately lost touch.

But you always tuned in to I-LAND to see how he was doing.

The day he was announced as a member of an enhypen you shedded tears.

"Knew you could do it Sim." You said to yourself.

As you continued your life in Australia you were able to get yourself a partner.

They were honestly wonderful to you.

Soon enough though you got a scholarship to a University in Korea.

Unfortunately your partner didn't want to do long distance.

You tried to convince them but they were pretty set on it.

It also kinda led to an argument so..

Oh well..

After you moved and settled in you actually got a text from Jake

"Hey there stranger, it's Jake! Hope you remember me. My mom told me you moved to Korea. Wanna meet up?"

You never texted back so fast.

It was so good to see each other again.

You guys gave each other the biggest hug.

Jake showed you around Seoul to get you familiar with the place.

While catching up of course.

He even taught you some extra korean along the way

Finally before dinner he took you to an arcade where he was just an absolute dork.

He also actually planned to let you win all of them..

But…

But! He made it up by winning you any plushie you want.

Took him a few tries but he got them.

Suddenly as he was trying to win you another prize your ex called.

You then excused yourself to answer the phone.

Our poor Jakey quickly got nervous.

No they didnt want a long distance relationship..

currently, txt, enhypen, ateez (yes, in that order cause i enjoy ateez's songs but don't follow their schedule as much, i watched en-o'clock and jake is my muse but don't usually hear their songs, and i can still feel my heart fluttering whenever i come across txt)

| which member sparked your interest first?

txt: yeonjun! he's the first member to be revealed during their debut days and i was one of the first to watch his announcement vid

enhypen: jake. his pics and vids during i-land days (even tho i don't interact with i-land cause i am SICK of survival shows, fuuuuck them!)

ateez: seonghwa cause of his appearance that i still remember (the platinum blond hair with fake lip ring)

| who was your first bias?

txt: soobin is who i claimed as my first bias (i had to be careful with that cause i had a friend who believes the "bias is mine" mindset and she also picked soobin lol so i claimed that my bias is yeonjun >.<)

enhypen: jungwon! i know surprising, but he is and will be my younger bro, but my bias changes depending on who i vibe with and having a sibling connection with won feels weird because i usually read fics of my biases and it feels awkward for me to read a reader x won fic (esp if it's romantic)

ateez: mingi. i like people with deep voices (cause i also have one for being a contralto) and his voice just caught me off guard. then, i moved to wooyoung because he likes jimin and park jimin was my ult bias for like 4 years (i'm a simple girl. if he biases my bias, he is my bias)

| what makes them your current bias?

visual and voice definitely come to mind. for me, they are so partner-coded with their own pros and cons and i think all of them have a sense of stability within them (soobin with leadership, jake with intelligence, seonghwa with wisdom). while career-wise, they're the underdogs of their groups and i have a thing for underdogs that makes me wanna support them more. they're not flashy enough to be called an ace but also talented enough to be an all-rounder

| who is your bias wrecker?

txt: yeonjun for the longest time. taehyun when i was writing troubled pixies (i even considered biasing yeonbintyun because of it)

enhypen: jay and heeseung! jongseong's been the longest bias wrecker in enha since he almost stole jaeyun's seat numerous times while heeseung is a new one because he's FFFFFFFFAAAAAAWWWKKKing hot and talented (also their music taste combined = my current music taste + they play instruments so that's a plus for me cause i love musicians (most of my real life crush are musicians/can play instruments))

ateez: CHOI SAN FTW istg this guy pls let me bias seonghwa in peace. also, i'll never forget my time biasing wooyoung and he is still lingering on my mind

txt: i don't think i have one. my member obsession will change depending on which fics of theirs that i'm currently writing (cause all of them are equally chaotic in my eye)

enhypen: KIM SUNOO MY BESTIE!!! he's my fellow 03 liner bestie and he's just a breath of neutral-feminine fresh air in the otherwise hypermasculine vibes of enhypen. i always see myself supporting him more than jake cause he is also an underdog in my eye

ateez: jeong yunho. the immaculate talent he has. the freaking smile. UGHHHHH

| when did you first discover the group?

txt: have been there since the beginning, baby! pre-debut times where bighit announces that bts is having a little brother group and the rest is history

enhypen: i've known about i-land (that's when i saw jake's announcement pic and he is such AWOOGAH) but i'm pissed off by survival shows that i don't wanna feel traumatized anymore. i've heard of given-taken but i didn't start being a fan until drunk-dazed - fever era cause that ep is so nice and they have a show with txt so... yeah!

ateez: back in 2018, so many random play dance vids had pirate king as one song in their roster and so i started to get interested. i became a fan during the start of the treasure ep 2 promotions (the red bg concept photo with blond seonghwa, yes that's the one that i mentioned before) and i binge their content including kq fellaz, ep 1, and the short version of hala hala at that time and it's still one of my fav songs of theirs

| have you ever been to one of their concerts?

txt: twice! act: lovesick in 2022 and act: sweet mirage in 2023. i stand pretty far from the stage (because i don't wanna get crowd crush and i can dance and enjoy however i want) but i actually went past their van convoy on the highway on my way home lmao (me and my best friend actually didn't actually believe it was them until we saw that kai had done a very brief weverse live on the van around the same time i drove my car past their van. the fact that i'm meters away from them but we're shielded by each of our vehicles sadge)

enhypen: never, cause they don't consider my city/country to have many engenes. i'm willing to pay to go watch them in another city/country but depends on scheduling and setlist (cause i'm here to watch them perform given-taken live and they don't have it in the latest setlist for the fate tour which is such a disappointment on my end)

ateez: yeah? they're part of a line up for spotify on stage back in 2019 alongside (g)i-dle and rich brian. so i consider that i have watched them in a concert~

the solution to our problems - epipen 😍🫶

; synopsis - 6 months after your break up, you’re sick and tired of your ex who's always following you around or sending you a text from some new number. luckily for you, the leader of the school’s dance club and campus heartthrob, yang jungwon, seems to have a solution that’ll solve both your problems - to fake date each other.

masterlist ; 𝓻𝓲𝓬𝓴𝔂’s sugar babies ; english project (+ won's cousin??); one.

➷ ENHYPEN the official mens' dance team of decelis university. they've participated in several competitions, and are one of the best dance teams in the city, their cover videos often going viral online. although riki is a high-schooler, everyone agrees enhypen isn't enhypen without him.

➷ JUNGWON a sophomore and the leader of decelis university's dance club. he's a part of the university's official mens' dance team as well, which adds to his popular reputation of being the campus crush. because of this though, tons of both girls and boys come to him asking for a chance, and he feels bad when he turns them all down.

➷ HEESEUNG the oldest, and a senior at decelis university. he's insanely popular and well-sought after, like jungwon. unlike jungwon, he indulges in every girl who asks for his number or bats her eyes at him. although he is incredibly hardworking, it's not a rare sight to see him serenading someone new every week.

➷ jay. like heeseung, he's also a senior. if ricky isn't the richest in the school, it's probably him, and students are constantly comparing the two in terms of who's richer. it's funny to them, because they don't really even know each other, although they're labelled as 'money rivals'.

➷ jake. a junior who had lived in australia his whole life - until he moved back to seoul to start a new life. as a physics major, you can often find him at the library studying and listening to music, busting out into dance moves randomly (the music is distracting, but too good to not listen to).

➷ sunghoon. he's a chill guy and a junior. not the most active online, mentally replying to texts, but eventually forgetting to actually do so (don't we all?). it's okay though! him and sunoo are attached by the hip, and the younger boy tells him all he needs to know - whether its gossip or important information for the dance team.

➷ sunoo. a junior who has a taste for all the drama going on at school. i mean, you have to make your study life more interesting somehow, right? out of the 7 members, sunoo just might have the most fans, and easily talks to everyone at school. his friendly personality paired with his bright smile instantly makes everyone's days better - even the professors.

➷ riki. not officially part of the team, but might as well be. although he's still a senior in high school, and isn't even in decelis university, he's considered an honorary member of enhypen, appearing in lots of their cover videos. he also goes to school with youngseo, even tagging along with her when she goes to see jungwon at du (it's how he met the others).

memories — jake sim

y/n has always been faced with many hard decisions in his life, but he swore to never leave jake’s side, and he’s going to fulfill that promise even if it kills him.

tags :: jake sim x m!reader , requested!! , jake is only passed out in the beginning , the enhypen members are also here , a lot of writing and some dialogue, reader has mixed feelings , he’s in love with jake but doesn’t realize it till the end

6:35 pm.

y/n listens to the beeping of hospital machines, his eyes staring at the hospital bed before him. his hands reach over to hold jake’s. he almost felt tears brim in his eyes when he realized that the male couldn’t hold his hand back.

he’d been here for 6 hours, just staring at jake who didn’t move one bit. he could see the sympathetic looks of the doctors and nurses whenever they walked in, he knows he should’ve left left a long time ago, the company said it wasn’t healthy for him to just sit and stare at jake for hours on end.

well, fuck belift, they were the reason jake was in this state in the first place.

“hyung” jungwon calls from the door, but the older doesn’t budge he just stares. “we have to go home, it’s been six hours”.

“i’m not leaving”.

jungwon sighs in defeat. the male completely disregarded whatever he’d said before, his eyes puffy from all the crying he’d been doing the previous hours. “please, you can’t just—“

“i’m not going home, jungwon” he retorts. “just tell everyone else i’ll be home tomorrow”.

jungwon clearly doesn’t want that, but he can’t find the words to argue with him. he just sighs once more. “okay” he whispers, closing the door behind him.

y/n continues staring at jake, the male looked practically lifeless. he was pale, with bandages covering his head, and there was no sign of any movement in his body.

“why you? out of all people?”

why did jake sim have to suffer like this?

10:40 pm.

“if this unconsciousness is to continue, mr. sim may lose his memory”.

y/n heaves a shaky sigh, the words replaying in his mind over and over again. memory loss? what if jake were to forget him, forget enhypen, forget enhypen? the thought of that made him feel horrible.

if jake did forget him.. how would he even take the news?

y/n stares, the miserableness in his eyes so clear you could see your reflection through it. he blinks away any tears that he could feel forming.

i’ve already cried too many times today.

he sighs again, hands tightening around jake’s. still unmoving.

he stares, just.. staring.

he wants jake to do something, anything, even a move of his finger would give him at least some hope. his eyes start getting heavy, and he closes them momentarily, head falling.

that’s until, he feels jake’s hand move.

y/n jolts up, his eyes opening. his hand was still clasped around jake’s, and then the boys hand moved once again. “jake..?” he asks, he couldn’t even yell because of how low his voice had gotten. “are you awake?”

“ouch..” he murmurs, and y/n tightens his grip around his hand again. jake’s eyes flutter open, he moves the hand that isn’t holding y/n’s to touch his head, wincing.

“jake” y/n starts. “are you okay?”

jake blinks, his eyes searching the room for a moment. “yeah, just a bad headache”.

y/n assumed that jake’s memory was fine, since he wasn’t acting confused, but he wanted to be sure. “do you remember anything?”

jake looks at him like he’s crazy. “yeah.. i fell onto the hard ground during practice”.

y/n let’s put a sigh of relief. thank god, he didn’t lose his memory, good. “okay, that’s good! you didn’t forget anything..”

jake blinks, sitting up straight. he stares at y/n, who feels nervous with the now intense gaze on him. he squints, tilting his head. “why are your eyes red?”

y/n’s eyes go wide, and he tries to avoid jake’s burning gaze. “i… uh— i’ve been here too long”.

bold faced lie.

jake snorts. “yeah, sure n/n”.

y/n scoffs, letting go of his hand. “shut up! i’ve been here the whole week”.

jake reaches back for his hand, holding it. “no don’t go, stay”.

y/n hates the fact that he can’t say no to jake, he just has those convincing eyes that make you want to say yes, and never no. not like he’d say no anyway.

“where’s everyone else?” jake asks.

y/n looks to the door. “oh, they’re right outside, they’ve been super worried about you”.

“not as worried as you, i assume”.

y/n looks at him, eyes droopy. “no, they were all equally as worried, i just… couldn’t stand seeing you unconscious so i stayed with you”.

jake stares back, a small smile coming to his face. he turns a bright shade of red, though he’s sure y/n didn’t notice (he hoped). “thank you”.

y/n nods, and he suddenly felt himself getting emotional at the sight of jake being okay.

i could’ve lost him…

he felt himself get teary eyed, and he moves forward to hug jake. he rests his head on the males shoulder, jake is evidently surprised by the action, but he just decides to hug him back.

“don’t ever try to leave me again” he mumbles into his shoulder.

jake laughs, hugging him back.

god, i’m so in love with this boy.

“jake, for the love of god, eat”.

once jake had decided to wake up, he thought that being a menace was the best way to go. “i swear to god jake sim of you don’t eat—“

“you can’t make me” jake crosses his arms and pouts like a little kid. “hospital food is gross”.

y/n sighs. he had a backup plan for this, he looks over at his bag and takes out a bowl of ramyeon, he knew jake couldn’t resist. “you don’t have to eat hospital food, then, yun”.

jake’s eyes light up, and he grabs the bowl. “yay! thank you, n/n!” he exclaims.

y/n smiled, glad that jake could now eat happily. “no problem, just eat” he whispers, leaning back in his chair.

jake chews while staring at him. how could he just sit there and be so pretty? all the male was doing was using his phone, sitting there, yet jake found his beauty so hypnotizing that he couldn’t stop staring.

y/n looks up, noticing how jake was eating and looking at him at the same time. “are you okay? is the food not good—“

“no it’s fine!” jake quickly replies. “i was just… zoning out” he lies, y/n tilts his head confusion, but doesn’t question it.

jake just smiles to himself.

i’ll tell him later.

i’m sure of it.
