#i also went off with the shading. but tbh something about it seems weird

i genuinely kept forgetting to post these
i'm pretty burnt out on drawing, so i decided to end the cringetober challenge. as much as i would like to complete it, i would die
day 16 (objecthead) day 15/18 (song lyrics/old art redraw)
i got through halfway the month, which is honestly still a win for me.
look here for a cropped version of the redraw, and the original picture
#pinemartart#cringetober 2023#oc: freak#wc oc#i've not gotten this far in month challenges like this so . still a win#i've lost motivation to continue it though. but i like a lot of the art that has come out of it!#not sure what else to say tbh#i put a lot of detail into the redraw#and it's like. one of the only times i've actually drawn a background semi recently#i want to get better at backgrounds tbh#i also went off with the shading. but tbh something about it seems weird#maybe it's just because i've looked at it way too long#i want to learn how to do more uhh. painterly rendering#where it's more all on one layer .... and stuff like that#but idk where to start or anything#if i find a way to painterly render sketches then it's over. my shading skills + good rendering would kill everyone#while drawing i tend to seperate stuff in different layers a lot. it just makes it easier for me#but that works for more uuhhh. sharp cell shading and toony styles#or where there is clear distinction between things#which i like . but i also want to try painterly stuff#i'm still not sure how to go about it

Love in the Air
Spoilers
Just thoughts as I go I'll add to and edit this later...
I got into this show because I was wondering who the people the camera lingered on to long were in Wedding Plan (LOVE Wedding Plan). So since I saw Wedding Plan first every time I look at Rian's hair internally I'm like "just you wait it gets better I promise".
It would annoy me that Rain does the annoying so demure, so inexperienced shyness silence all the time if he didn't consistently not have two brain cells to rub together. So the silence as he tries to put any thoughts together really checks out.
God I relate to a man procrastinating and fucking up uni. I need more failures as my protagonists like this. Love him. Very relatable.
It bothers me more than I'd like that Saifah is meant to be the younger twin to Payu. He looks older and his is actor is two years older. If he was clean shaven I think it would work more. But every time they mention he's meant to be younger I just cannot by that.
I saw a review calling this a a modern queer bodice ripper and yeah 100%. I also am enjoying it a lot more now that I've heard that. Everything feels like it fits into place. Like you know how you do that fear factor/sensory thing where you touch something or eat something blindfolded. It could be totally fine and good and still a bit scary or weird if you don't know what it is. I just feel like I like shows a whole lot better personally when I don't go in blind. And yet the ADHD so often calls for me to do 0 research into what I watch XD
Episode 8 now and damn Prapai you had to open your mouth. You were so hot and beautiful before, probably helped by you not being the most arrogant man in the room (racetrack). But here you are. A nepo baby making your secretary cancel important meetings so you can bother people and change outfits. SIR get your shit together.
Nevermind I love him. Also love his secretary.
God Prapai's outfits are just INCREDIBLE! Like, not enough that he's wearing good, beautiful, colourful suits, but he has interesting ties and gorgeous pins. The stylist went off with Prapai.
I usually love how important family is in Thai media I've seen but I actually need Prapai and his brother to be less close. Or his brother to be SIGNIFICANTLY less open about how horny he is.
Sky you are now ADHD to me because I too need to keep notes on people I like too. Also I know your sleep sucks because of trauma but bad/irregular sleep is also a sign of ADHD. Plus risk taking behavior in HS.
Rain is ADHD too TBH. Inattentiveness, risk taking behavior, getting distracted, not thinking things through, time blindness and procrastination - his assignments. Also they both seem to study a lot better with other people.
Watching the special and love their friend full on villain laughing at the opportunity to bully them. Just love the bullying and banter in this. Sky getting Rain on his hands and knees is *iconic*.
I think the couples are very close to being something I wouldn't like because of the dub-con, alpha male/protector, gender role wife-husband shorter/fem man is automatically submissive stuff. Which is not only regressive but tired and cringe. However, it subverts this or is self aware enough to not be annoying. I mean you'd hope to have properly distinct couples but so much stuff I've read doesn't even do this. Sky loves to bully and tease Prapai. Like how Prapai's aggressive initial flirting was meant to be playful. I think so is Sky's jealousy and verbal combativeness. Which makes Prapai's stalking and Sky's excessive jealousy less uncomfortable or annoying and more fun because it's like they're both in on the joke. Similarly, Rain's dumb jealousy and misunderstandings could be lazy writing to make the plot happen. But Rain seems genuinely barely annoyed and Payu is so morosexual that again, it at the very least feels adjacent to lamp shading these tropes. Like they're in on the joke.
So love them overall. Very cute!

anonymous asked: AITC for freezing a country in time? This sounds really bad but I had my reasons. I (dilf age, M) lost contact with my home country tragically. I was stranded in a very hospitable country, and found myself happy there. The people were welcoming, kind, and joyous. It was... perfect. I decided that I could not allow the same tragedy to befall this place as did my home. So, I took action; I asked the Universe for its aid in preventing this, and it supplied. It gifted me with power over time, so that I might capture and remember this beauty forever. However, it seemed that the residents of this country did not understand my intent... A group of saviors came to stop me, and are insisting that I am in the wrong for my wish to save them. AITC?

🍀 4ours-a-crowd Follow
You're not losing it! We're pretty sure that was a Color!
Pretty recently (as far as academics are concerned), there's been a pretty big discovery--that of Color Theory. Essentially what Color Theory is, is that the shades we see now are actually much brighter shades called Colors, and for some reason, our eyes or brains lost the ability to process them. For example, grass is "Grin" and the sky is "Blu".
What you saw was "Red", which reportedly appears when something is "breaking". There are a lot of reports from Central Vaugarde of people seeing it in the sky around the same time / just after the King's curse dissipated, leading many to believe that it's directly related. We won't know for sure until the saviors come forward with more information on how their quest went, but it does seem pretty likely.
TL;DR: You saw the fabric of reality breaking, probably as a result of something the saviors did when defeating the King. Isn't that fun!

WHY I THINK PLUM @THEYAOIOFCHATEAUCASTLE IS THE CHOSEN SAVIOR OF VAUGARDE
Ik this sounds a little conspiracy theory-y but hear me out ok.
ok Im not super sure how to start this. but Ig Ill start with what tipped me off at first.
so way back before all the king stuff. shed mentioned she lives in central Vaugarde and is a housemaiden. the chosen savior is a housemaiden at Dormonts house, which is in central Vaugarde. its a rlly big house bc it represents a bunch of small villages so it does have a lot of housemaidens but still.
SECOND THING. is that at the beginning of the King stuff, like right when the King invaded Dormonts house, she went offline and then CAME BACK. only one person escaped the house that day and it was the savior. sure, she mightve just been out of the house that day, but like? cmon
THIRD THING. is that if you look at her archive, her posts line up pretty well with what it seems like the savior was doing. she talks about traveling a couple times and Im pretty sure I remember seeing a post back then complaining abt camping. also one complaining abt defenders right around the time Jouventes defenders denied the saviors request for help. but I couldnt find either when I look back so I think she mightve deleted them
FOURTH THING. is she was offline for most of the day before and the entire day of the Kings defeat. which yeah nobody in Vaugarde was online consistently at all, especially not people who were traveling, but. like. with all the other stuff? its just the final nail in the coffin yknow.
so. theres my theory. dont harrass her or anything OBVIOUSLY. but Ive just been thinking about this nonstop and I NEEDed to get it out there
#ur telling me the chosen savior of vaugarde is a fujoshi

annual rewatch
twilight.
-I've never really noticed how many little details there are just in the opening act. CH really went all fucking out
all the students turning to watch Bella walk by on the first day
the fucking mumble of "No one appreciates the onion" Mr. molina does after the class laughs at the golden onion trophy (I fuckin love this onion)
the Cullen crest try and necklaces and rings, etc. (tight as fuck) ((tho it kinda worryingly makes me question if the non beta-read version of the 50 Shades OG fanfic had a branding scene, tbh))
** addendum, the second day diner scene: the waitress has a shamrock necklace and is very broken up about Waylon's death and I just wanted to point that out, given his kiss me im irish shirt and also!! their earlier exasperated-carer-of-beloved-idiot and said-beloved-idiot vibes in the first diner scene.
- "it's the fluorescents"
maybe edward is such a bad liar because normally he can just look into the other persons mind and see exactly how effective it is at any given moment. or, more likely, simply see what the person most likely assumes or would be open to believing, and he just leans into it hard. trying to make it up from scratch is hard.
which is why he says the whole "adrenaline rush" line with such a fuckin weird fave and tone I'm assuming.
- I want a golden onion. that is all.
- the fact that Waylon's kiss me I'm irish shirt is now Victoria's....
- Donate to the Quileute Tribe's Move to Higher Ground effort.
-I WAS TODAY YEARS DUMB WHEN I REALIZEX ALICE IS THE PITCHER CUZ SHE'S THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN TIME IT PERFECTLY WITH THE THUNDER!
this does raise the concerning question of whether or not this Makes No Sense (TM) as I'm like 67% certain that she can only see decided futures? Who decides when the thunder happens? does this imply Thor is real? or that Perun had been killed once again by Veles? or what? is this an example of definite futures set in stone? or does she only know because she's seen all of this due to a vision about say, Carlisle, deciding they would play baseball today when he was watching the local weather station earlier today???
-edward is an idiot if I read the dudes kind and was like oh, he's a tracker, he wants to kill Bella, I would simply rally the family and commit murder then and there.
- I refuse to believe hurting Charlie this way was the only, not least of which the right, choice.
I hate this entire scene. Charlie loves Bella so much and the added earlier scene the Bella (a few days after her father's friend of 30 yes has died) told him that she likes being alone and "must get that from [him]"??!?! I am so missed. Charlie deserved better. he's also literally in grave danger due to his lack of knowledge I. the situation (he's hunting Victoria's coven, and has no clue, and literally Victoria gives a bitch a heart attack. Harry Clearwater I'm pretty sure?)
- what is the limit of Jasper's emotional manipulation power? exactly??
he seems overwhelmed when everyone is crowding Bella after the near crash with Tyler's van, but can't tell that Bella is anxious or planning something when she sneaks off to get to the ballet studio???
- it's hot when Alice rips James's head off.
I said what I said, that's all.
- JUST FUCKING LET . HER. TURN. U . DUMMY.
-Alternatively, CARLISLE YOU'VE HAD THE STRENGTH AND OR FULL TUMMY ENOUGH TO TURN LIKE 6 PEOPLE; THE FUCK WHY ARENT YOU THE ONE SUCKING OUT THE VENOM??? U TELLING ME THAT NONE OF UR FUCKING KIDS EVER TOOK A FIRST AID COURSE? ROSALIE HAS NEVER HAD HUMAN BLOOD SURELY SHE COULD DO THE FIRST AID BIT?
- Alice tossing herself thru a window is still the funniest fucking thing
- Why does edward's hoodie have no strings like he just got out of a pysch hold???????
- the codependency is real and icky
- I've been noticing it the entire movie but the poorly disguised 5 o'clock shadow that eddie boy permanently has etched onto his jaw is the most nonsense part of this whole fuckin thing.
- "... but 20 bucks is 20 bucks, "Jacob, agreeing to ominously threaten his friend.
-I, for one, refuse to believe that Alice doesn't regularly host house parties.
maybe the first few months no one showed up because she was the weird Alaska girl with the culty family and matching jewelry and the constipated boyfriend. I'm headcanoning that Alice has been planning parties for years, once a month, and then using her visions to pre-screen invite rsvp's and deciding not to because no one said yes.
now that I'm crying, let's continue.
- every time I consume twilight I think, huh, does Bella really love Edward, or just rhe mystery and idea of romanticized immortal bliss and opportunity that he represents. does edward love Bella? or is he just seeing the first challenge in decades, who happens to be witty and surprising and who he likes the smell of a lot, but wants to keep her human specifically because he wants the excitement of her being sort of this innocent untouched damsel in constant distress who he can watch sleep and gaslight into being his own personal Bella Novella.
-the fact that vistoria dressed up for their prom??? why??
she... she's in a separate building??? what was the point story wise? like, we g e t it, Rachel Lafevre is hot.
that is all

@aureateart ok. My favourite parts of twilight princess (and some other random thoughts about TP sprinkled in there) taken from my monster TP word vomit google doc :
Link lmao
Ok but for real, I like this incarnation of Link :)
I love Ordon (it just seems like such a chill and cozy village)
ALSO love how easy it is to interpret Link as being a sort of older brother figure to the Ordon kiddos. It’s just,, super cute? AND GHHH nice nice good thanks nintendo for giving me characters to care about/characters that I can imagine Link caring about
He didn’t sign up for any of this (tbh, none of the Links really signed up for this jshdjsd). But I mean like, dude was just going to take a trip to castle town, drop a gift off for the royal family, and come back. But haHA oopsies he did get to castle town eventually but definitely not the way he expected hsjdhsd
He’s just a little dude?
AND FUCK. HE REALLY HAD NEVER BEEN OUTSIDE OF ORDON UNTIL ALL OF THAT
everything is new for the player AND Link
Midna
She’s cool :)
she really just
*teleports into your jail cell* hello whore.
I am no master at writing but AYYYY she do got a character arc!!!
She was actually pretty helpful sometimes, I ALWAYS checked in with her before turning to a game guide
Other NPCs
NICE
Love all of the TP character designs (ASHEI’S ARMOUR??? AOWOAOAOOAO)
Saving Zelda and all of Hyrule was important yea but thinking back maybe it was more like, the Ordonians and the kids were what was pushing Link to keep on going
I like the Resistance members :) Very video gamey of them to have one NPC assigned to each dungeon but hey!!! Kinda cool getting to see a little glimpse of each of em
Idk, it’s just fun to imagine Link popping into Telma’s bar after each dungeon and taking a little rest :) (or to celebrate? maybe just chat, idk, give this man some downtime!!)
Honestly it was just kind of nice that Link wasn’t entirely alone. I mean, I know Midna was there the whole time, but I am always for giving Link a big group of friends (see my love for hyrule warriors, age of calamity, and LU LMAO)
Hero’s shade, very very cool, kinda sad he died with regrets but HEY. He got to pass on his knowledge eventually
AND the connection to OoT?? AND assumed to be related by blood too????? GOOD SHIT
Ilia, I REALLY really wanted to like her (er, it’s not like I dislike her, she’s just,,, kinda there for me).
It definitely seems like Nintendo was pushing to make her the romantic interest, but GHHHHH they really threw that out of the window for me by having her lose her memories
I saw a text post a while ago that said it would have been interesting if Ilia was Link’s sister instead and YES!! That would have been cool too :0
Wish we got to know Zelda a little more
I feel like we barely know anything about her
Idk man, like I said earlier, I never really had any sort of drive to save Zelda during my playthroughs
She obviously knows Midna, so maybe if they gave us just a little bit more of that relationship I’d be more interested in her?
TP WORLD BUILDINGGGG
Botw has good world building too, but each race felt kinda,,, isolated? I absolutely love the different architecture and vibe each town has (and all the the weapons too) but ghhh yea everyone felt so separated. As far as I can remember, we don’t see tooo much of the races interacting with each other? Now that I’m typing that out maybe that’s to be expected because of the calamity but KLSJDKJFD ANYWAYS THIS IS ABOUT TP
The world feels nice and alive, love how populated everything is
Castle town I like castle town a lot, it feels dense and busy and I really like how you can’t talk to every NPC you see
Very cool very fun that we got to see the Gorons hanging out in multiple spots
kinda wish we got to see the Zoras a little more (I guess they are a bit limited since they need water but GHHHH the tp zoras are so prebby,,)
BUT HEY, I do remember seeing a zora or two hanging out in the hot springs around death mountain after beating the lakebed temple (I think, might have been a different dungeon)
but aaaa would have been nice to see them in at least a couple of other places. I think it would have really added to the “congrats Link!! You’re restoring peace to Hyrule” feeling you get from seeing the Gorons hanging out in Kakariko and Castle Town
ORDON
Love how chill it is and how it’s kind of separate from Hyrule proper
They really do seem to be doing their own thing apart from the rest of Hyrule
Just kinda adds onto the “he’s just a regular dude minding his own business” kind of vibes I get from TP Link
Also I like Ordona :)
THE LIGHT SPIRITS,,
Love their design
And love how they’re not exactly like a pure white?
Different spirit representing each aspect of the triforce my beloved
But yes hi I think Ordona is very cool
Who are you, how did you get here, which goddess do you represent? Do you even represent one of the three golden goddesses? Do the Ordonians know about you? Have any of them ever SEEN you??? Do they worship you? Does anybody even know about the existence of the light spirits?? FUCK so many questions but ghhh I like how they broke the status quo a bit by throwing in a fourth spirit :)
I feel like this one is kinda weird but I like that voice sample they used in the light spirit music. It’s spooky and pretty at the same time :)
cutscenes mmmmm
Ok ok, the spooky lanayru cutscene is very good
BUT THE “Link, Chosen Hero! Lend us the last of your power!” CUTSCENE MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM LOVE IT SO MUCH
IT just
Idk man
It just hit different
I like the music
And seeing the light spirits swimming around in the light juice water whatever it is
Summoning the light arrows?
AND HHHHH “Lend us the last of your power!” THIS IS IT. This is the final battle.
Seeing Zelda bow down, and then Link putting his hand out 👌👌👌
Link: ok bud, let’s do this together :)
Connection to OoT (did I already mention this? Maybe., Whatever)
Very cool nintendo :)
I love seeing connections between all the diff zelda games.
Because like, on one hand, they’re all separate from each other because of yknow, individual hero stuff. BUT ALSO, they’re all connected because of the reincarnation stuff
Grrrr walking through the sacred grove and going “The Hero of Time walked around here a long time ago” FUCK THATS SO COOL
Is the Hero’s Shade watching me? What does he think of me? DIsappointed? Proud? The Hero of Time went through HELL so this timeline didn’t have to deal with any of the shit Ganon was gonna pull with the triforce, better not fuck this UP Link!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Midlink is cute
Kinda hurts that she smashed the mirror but that was probably so Nintendo didn’t have to worry about people going “but what about the twili??????” for any of the other games LMAO
BUT ALSO LIKE SKJDKLJFJ There are some pretty massive plot holes in TP anyway so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ whatever it’s fine we’ll just use this for angst because GOD do y’all like angst
So is Shadlink
Honestly don’t know where this ship came from but it’s cute so whatever
THE MUSIC??
Love Midna’s theme and how they referenced the dark world theme from ALttP (I remember trying to learn the dark world theme on the piano and doing the Leonardo DiCaprio point meme at the little jingle I recognized from Midna’s theme)
Hyrule field theme SLAPS.
Apparently references a couple of the other over-world themes from the previous zelda games (I got this from 8-bit Music theory’s video on the over-world zelda themes, he talks about TP at around 11:40 but def recommend watching the whole video if you’re into music analysis stuff)
So there’s this bit of the Hyrule Field theme, I don’t know the official name for it but I remember seeing somewhere it being called the “at an advantage theme” since yeah, you hear it during the boss music whenever you expose their weak points. FUCKINGGG LOVE THAT. Didn’t notice it during my first playthrough, but hearing it during my second was like a little easter egg for my ears every time :)
Midna’s lament is very pretty (and fun to play on the piano)
COURAGE THEME.
I didn’t care for it too much when I started playing the game but hearing it in ZREO’s arrangement of the Hyrule Field theme literally makes me turn into a puddle of emotions. Also hearing it around and of the Ordon kids (I think it plays after Link saves Colin) AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Orchestra piece #1 and #2 HOLY SHIT????????????????
Literally, the first time I listened to those I just,,,, plugged in my headphones, volume 100, layed on the floor/against my desk and silently vibed. I don’t know what the hell it is, but those two just fit so well with TP?? I still avoid listening to them nowadays cause if I DO I definitely will get overwhelmed with the “god I love this game so FUCKING MUCH” kind of feels.
Wolf link sucks at singing
the first time I heard him howling Zelda’s Lullaby I lost my shit because LKSJLDKSGLKJFSKG god that was.,, Bad. Anyways, hearing him howl some of the songs from OoT was cute :)
TP STAFF ROLL???
VERY GOOD. IT’s like 10 minutes long and GOD do I love every single second of it. It doesn’t have the same energy as the skyward sword staff roll or the orchestra pieces but GOD does it hit good??
Nice and calm after that big exciting adventure. Maybe it would have been more fun or emotional to have a higher energy piece but it was really nice getting to sit back and watch the camera fly around Hyrule. Seeing like, the Gorons and the Zoras having a good time, the kids returning to Ordon? GOOD SHIT.
and AAAAA that end, when you hear the main Zelda theme and see Link riding off out of Faron woods on Epona… good shit. It gets you thinking, where the hell is he going? What is he doing? Off ot do more adventuring? Going to help out the resistance or something? Going to help Zelda? Or maybe he’s trying to figure out a way to restore the mirror of twilight? Whoooo knows.
hhHHHHhhh it’s just that final reminder that YES!!! YOU JUST PLAYED A ZELDA GAME. JUST ANOTHER STORY APART OF THE WHOLE EPIC OF THE ZELDA SERIES AS A WHOLE
I also want to acknowledge the instrument/samples they used for all the twili stuff.
They’re all just so unique and contrast SO well with the rest of the TP OST. LIKE FUCK!! Anytime I hear the screech from the Twilit Kargarok? Sends a shiver down my spine. I associate those sounds SO strongly with the twili realm. (Like, the same way you associate the BSHEWW VVWWMMM sounds with light sabers)
I love it so god damn much
literally any time there’s a certain sound or motif associated with something I lose my shit
Sacred grove sacred grove sacred gro-
lovely lovely lovely so much fun playing that on the piano. AND again, I did the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme when I heard the theme from the lost woods come in GHHHHHHHH
shoutout to TP Faron Woods for helping me study and get through all of my schoolwork
BLEGUUHHH can you tell that I really love music?
and also yea I guess TP is kinda cool too :\
IF YOU READ ALL OF THAT THANKS I GUESS

10 Anti LO Asks
1. HOW DID ZEUS NOT KNOW APOLLO AND ARTEMIS IS HIS KIDS? Zeus has an affair with Leto and bam she gets banned and bam she has TWO SAME SHADE OF PURPLE KIDS AND ONE OF THEM looks a LOT LIKE HIM. I know at the wah beginning he and Hera were looking at Apollo and Zeus even goes “he reminds me of a young me!” Where I was thinking he lowkey knew and just Apollo didn’t know or something like that since I never saw Apollo call Zeus dad. Like Hera didnt like Artemis for being “unlady like” which I thought meant “my husbands kids from another mistress”. For Hera to be able to ban Leto and then two god children come out right after.
I know Aphrodite is also purple and isn’t zeus’s daughter but her non existent mother didn’t get banned from Olympus for having an affair with him!
I also wanna know how long ago this affair was since Apollo has an adult child.
2. Did anyone notice Artemis’ outfit changed during the season finally. She had to to jewelry on to exclaim Zeus is her father but take it off when watching Apollo vs Persephone
3. Does hades gets along with any other female goddesses other than hectate or ones he’s sleeping with? Demeter and him are known to not get along, him and Aphrodite have stepped on each other’s toes. Artemis hates his guts. I guess he gets along with Athena/hebe but that’s cause they have a good uncle niece relationship.
4. there are several instances in the iliad alone of the gods picking favorite mortals, protecting them, and literally weeping when they died. the fact rachel thinkss they legitimately dont care about them outside of rituals (??? what does that mean??) is just her once again admitting she does not actually know what she's talking about and the extent of her "research" is just whatever tumblr said in 2015.
5. the fans saying magically creating a child "isnt the fun way" both confirms they do not actually care about persephone's in comic trauma and fear of pregnancy/birth (I would say sex too, but Rachel seem to have acted one therapy session is enough to "fix" it), but also confirming they will not accept any sort of adoption, so considering Rachel writes off fan reactions just get ready for her to think up a random way to get Persephone knocked up for their weird pregnancy obsession.
6. You guys have to realize LO fans and even Rachel don't care for Persephone, it's really just about making Hades their perfect Emo Husband™️ who they get to live out their fantasies with because the other male gods are too defined, and Hades in myth lacks so much about him they can just impose a any personality on him to make him "perfect", Persephone is just a vessel to live out that fantasy. If they truly gave a damn about her, there wouldn't be romantic HxP adaptions to begin with.
7. I haven't read past the first three chapters of LO because I legit hate nearly everything about it, but I found and plowed through this blog because I find it hilarious how catastrophically bad it is. But I went to check a random late chapter after ppl said the art improved, and Persephone at one point is wearing a backpack?! It's normal in college obviously, but it's such a symbol of academic youth. Old ass man in a suit+backpack girl..looks like dad picking up his daughter from fucking school.
8. TBH the webtoon weekly format is also a big reason why LO isn't very good. Not only is that not enough time to relax and keep up the art quality, but it def seems like a lot of LO episodes is just Rachel thinking "this will sustain them for a week" and that's about it, not that's important to the story or develops anything, but that it meets enough filler until she can think up something else, which isn't good writing. She and many others could benefit from a longer in-between between episodes.
9. I feel like I would be able to support HxP in this story if it weren't for the fact Persephone has no other options but him, and they're not developed well either. Like if she has a prior dating life and partners before him, it would be more realistic, and more so some actual development in them as to why they'd work as a couple, because all we have is just Persephone with no options, plot forcing them together, physical lust. and trauma bonding. That's not good writing to make us buy the couple
10. Even beyond the atrocious design, are we not supposed to notice Rachel is phsyically incapable of letting GREEK GODS having any negative traits at all? Hera couldn't just throw her child out because she's an asshole, Eris had to randomly want to kill her! Persephone can't have inner darkness, she was cursed by Eris! Hades had to do slavery because "its tradition"! Like if she and her fans can't handle Greek gods being morally complex and even bad, then go focus on Disney movies, not the myths.

This is for @bardingbeedle who yelled at me in the tags and then on messenger and ultimately inspired me to write some “lorge soft steve” and tbh who am I to refuse. (also high-key inspired by this masterpiece of fanart I RBed [again] earlier today)
(takes place shortly after the events of Avengers Assemble episode 2x07, aka the best fic none of us ever wrote)
(heed the READ MORE!)
***
Tony is hustling from one meeting to the next, all but literally running into the kitchen for a cup of afternoon coffee, when he spies Steve Rogers bent over the communal living room coffee table. That in and of itself isn’t exactly outside the realm of normal Steve Rogers activities—the man does love a good brood, even if he won’t admit it and doesn’t do it as often as he used to.
But Tony wracks his brain for possible reasons why Steve would be hunched up around the shoulders like he’s expecting a body blow any minute and keeps coming up empty. Not even fresh coffee makes his synapses fire faster. Did they forget his birthday? Impossible. Did someone send Captain America hate mail? Uh, doubly impossible, especially because Tony’s got lawyers screening their mail for that kind of stuff (they’ve got more than enough pressure in their day-to-day lives, time-slip dinosaurs and age regressions notwithstanding).
Maybe Steve found a piece of upsetting news, or some fact of modern history that isn’t sitting well with him? That’s a lot more likely.
Before he can remind himself that Pepper’s waiting in his office to put him on a call with the president of MIT—something about a commencement speech, if memory serves—Tony is sauntering into the living room, nonchalant, tongue already prickling with some smart remark. He’s got it all written out in his head like a perfect line of code up until the moment he’s standing in front of Steve and sees the expression on his face.
“Whoa, who ran over your puppy?”
Tony winces, wishing for the millionth time that his mouth and his brain could work together simultaneously, but no. Worse, Steve doesn’t even answer him—he just frowns harder, if that’s even possible, and folds in on himself like his shoulders alone don’t take up half the length of the massive couch. Tony lowers the hand holding his coffee and blinks.
“Steve?”
“Oh!” Steve jumps upright, and quick as a flash moves something vaguely folder-shaped behind his back. “Tony! I didn’t hear you walk in—don’t you have a meeting right now?”
Something in Tony’s chest squeezes at the sight of that smile and at Steve’s impeccable attention to detail. But really, ever since the incident with the Time Stone, when he’d jolted back into his adult body and come to in Steve’s arms, he’s felt completely knocked off-balance. Now everything about Steve Rogers—the man, not the superhero—is a revelation. Every smile, every word, every look has Tony tripping over his own feet, tongue, thoughts. He may be back in his adult body, but he’s never felt more like a prepubescent teenager with a crush, fidgeting in place under Steve’s gaze.
“It got postponed,” he lies, because whatever has put that pinch between Steve’s eyebrows is way more important right now. “What’s up?”
“Nothing!” Steve replies, too loud and too quickly. Tony gives him a look. Steve flushes, shrinking in on himself even further, like he wants the couch to devour him. “Uh, nothing important. Just an anniversary I forgot about.”
Now it’s Tony’s turn to frown. He likes to think he’s got a solid mental calendar of important dates for all of his teammates memorized at this point—Natasha’s move-in, Bruce’s lab incident, Sam’s SHIELD acceptance, Steve being found in the ice—but none of those are today.
“Got room for one more?” Tony asks, nodding at the scant space next to Steve on the couch when the man gives him a questioning look. Steve’s cheeks immediately go a charming shade of pink, which churns the coffee in Tony’s empty stomach with a vengeance. Steve shifts to press himself against the arm as Tony moves to sit down next to him, almost crushing the folder Steve had hidden earlier in the process. There’s a gasp, and a lightning-quick hand, and then Steve, pale and breathless, is holding a manila folder against his chest like it’s the secret to the Super Soldier Serum.
It’s weird—Tony knows Steve trusts him, and vice versa. They wouldn’t have solved the riddle of the Time Stone if they didn’t trust each other. So to sit next to Steve, who’s gone from morose to terrified in the three minutes since Tony walked into the room and feel a wall between them is jarring. And upsetting. He’s only been nursing this crush for a few days, and Steve’s not that perceptive…is he? Maybe he is. Maybe this is Steve weeding out Tony’s feelings before they’ve even had a chance to grow.
Tony shakes his head at the thought. No, Steve’s a lot of things, but cruel isn’t one of them.
“Care to share with the class?” he asks, gently so he doesn’t spook Steve. It seems to work: Steve relaxes, tension falling from his shoulders as he eases into Tony’s presence. He takes a deep breath and exhales slowly, but keeps the folder pressed securely against his sternum. Tony tries hard not to steal a glance at the way Steve’s shirt pulls across his broad, thick chest as he breathes.
“It’s nothing.”
“Cap, if it was nothing, you wouldn’t be trying to Honey-I-Shrunk-Myself into the couch right now.”
Steve Rogers in active wear doesn’t cut quite the same figure as Steve Rogers in full Captain America regalia, it’s true, but that doesn’t mean he’s small. Like this, he’s just as large and has just as much presence as he does in uniform; it’s just…more human. Less Captain, more Steve. Both are devastating in their own way, but only Steve—friendly, blushing, awkward, unassuming Steve—makes Tony acutely aware of the distance between their bodies, down to the last electrified hair.
Catching his own breath, Tony puts his full mug on the coffee table and drops his hands into his lap, turning his head to watch Steve chew on whatever words are fighting to come out. Be patient, he tells himself. Whatever this is, Steve’s struggling with it, and Tony can have some tact when he wants to.
Finally, Steve closes his eyes and sighs. When he lowers his hands, the folder goes with them. Tony glances at the cover and almost swallows his tongue.
“Is that—?” Steve makes a noncommittal sound, like a ‘yes’ but softer, uncertain, like he’s not sure Tony’s reaction is a good one. Tony swallows his excitement with a wince. “Is that the Project Rebirth file? I told Fury to give it to you a long time ago, but I wasn’t sure he did.”
Tony is so preoccupied looking at the folder he doesn’t hear Steve’s gasp or notice his eyes lock onto him. “He did,” Steve replies quietly after a pause. “But that’s isn’t…that’s not what this is about.”
That’s kind of a surprise. The sudden appearance of the Project Rebirth file would explain Steve’s face and body language, but if it’s not that…
Steve hands the entire folder over to Tony without another word.
“Uh,” Tony gapes, too awestruck to achieve any kind of higher brain function.
“Look at the date,” Steve says. It’s not an order, just a gentle request, but it doesn’t prevent a shiver from rippling down the length of Tony’s spine. If he was hyperaware of the space between their bodies before, it’s even worse now with Steve leaning every-so-slightly toward him and reaching out a hand to point directly at the date written on the faded label.
22 June 1943
Tony blinks. “It’s the anniversary…of you?” He opens the folder without a second thought, and the first thing he sees is a picture of Steve. There are other things in the file—sheaves of what look like medical reports, heavily redacted memos, and carbon copies of typed letters—but the only thing Tony can focus on is Steven Grant Rogers circa 1943. The Steven Grant Rogers of before.
He’s touching the photo before he can stop himself, being so, so careful as he traces the narrow shape of the man in the photograph while the real, supersized thing sits next to him.
“It’s the first time I’ve really had a chance to sit and think about what it was like, before,” Steve says, unprompted. “Everything happened so fast once I got the serum, I didn’t have time to just…take it all in. And then I went into the ice and—well. You know the rest.”
All skin and bones, this man, back then. But the jut of his jaw is the same; the serum didn’t change that, or the flinty stubbornness in Steve’s eyes, or the proud set of his shoulders, just daring the world to try and fuck with him. Tony smiles—Steve before the serum is like a matchstick, short and thin and always one spark away from bursting into flame. He really didn’t change a bit.
When Tony finally looks up from the photo (not gazing, of course not), he sees Steve’s expression has gone pinched again, his arms now crossed in front of his chest.
Alright, there’s that face again. Out with it, Cap.”
Steve really shouldn’t bite his lip—it’s bad for Tony’s health. But Tony’s comment does get him to smile a little bit, which is good. “I guess…it’s been over seventy years since I got the serum, but most days I still feel like that skinny guy in the picture.” Tony watches him as he speaks, taking in the faraway look in Steve’s eyes, the shrinking posture, the downward turn of his mouth—who says I can’t be observant, Tony thinks—and wishes he and Steve were the kind of friends who hugged outside of catastrophic cosmic events. God knows it looks like Steve could use one, as wound up and tense as he is right now.
“I’ve broken so many things by accident because I keep forgetting I’m this, now,” he says, gesturing broadly at himself with one hand. Frowning, Steve uses that same hand to brace his forehead, elbow dropping down onto his thigh. The man is the picture of misery, and Tony aches to comfort him. It’s a physical pull in the pit of his stomach, urgent and needy—like if he doesn’t get his arms around Steve Rogers right this second, something important inside him is going to malfunction.
Tony shoves his hands under his thighs and nods. “Dr. Erskine could turn you into a super soldier,” he says softly, “but he couldn’t erase the first 27 years of your life.” He doesn’t speak his next thought aloud—that if there was in fact a way to erase those years, Tony would have signed up for the very first clinical trial. It’s a grim thought, and not something Steve needs to hear right now, but it’s been on Tony’s mind ever since his brief return to adolescence, and it’s a hard one to shake.
But what Steve heard seems to help. He peeks at Tony through his fingers and swallows loud enough even Tony can hear it.
“Yeah,” he rasps, “something like that.”
“What else?”
“What?”
“What else is bugging you? About this?”
Steve lowers his hand and stares at Tony. Stares. It’s such a feeling, being stared at by Steve Rogers, Tony can feel the heat climbing up from underneath his t-shirt. Even the arc reactor feels a bit warmer in his chest.
“How could you tell?”
“You’re still doing your level-best impression of a Shrinky Dink, Cap,” Tony replies. “Kind of hard not to notice.”
“I have no idea what that is,” Steve laughs, a hoarse, dry sound, “but you’re not wrong. I guess…I don’t know. It’s hard to put into words.”
“Try.”
Seriously, when Steve looks at him like that—like he did when Tony soared through the air as Iron Kid, all awe and pride and warmth—Tony feels capable of anything. Anything. He’d bottle that feeling, if he could, just like he’d bottle the color of Steve’s hair in the afternoon light coming in through the living room windows right now, all warm, pale yellows shot through with gold. If the photo in the file were in full color, Tony would bet his fortune Steve’s hair would be the same shade it is now.
Because Steve Rogers has always been perfect. Damn him.
“I still feel small,” Steve says, and any thoughts of hair and perfection derail abruptly. Looking into the middle-distance past his nose, he continues, “I don’t fit in this body. That doesn’t make sense, but—it’s like the super soldier is a mold, and I’m just there rattling around inside it, too small to fit. Does that—does that make any sense?” He looks at Tony imploringly, begging him with his eyes to understand. Tony feels that tug again, worse now, to wrap his arms around Steve and hold him tight. Call it returning the favor for the other day with the Time Stone, call it acting on his crush, whatever.
No one so large has ever looked as small as Steve Rogers does right now.
“It does,” Tony croaks.
“Really?”
“Really. I mean, how do you think I feel inside the suit?”
Steve makes a sound at that—not a whimper, not a gasp, but something hovering between the two that splits Tony’s heart right down the middle. “I never thought of it that way,” he whispers. “But that’s it. That’s exactly it.” Visible relief fills Steve’s lungs and makes his entire body go lax, leaning closer to Tony in the process. Tony, of course, is hyperaware of Steve’s size—everyone except Thor and Hulk is small compared to him—but now he’s equally aware of who’s operating the Cap-suit, so to speak.
“The only difference is, I can take my super-suit off,” Tony says, pinching the underside of his own thigh to cut off a laugh—Steve hasn’t seen The Incredibles yet—and continues, “you can’t. That’s bound to make a guy feel uncomfortable, even you, Mr. ‘I can handle anything you throw at me.’” He elbows Steve a little, good-naturedly, for emphasis, and gets a full, beautiful smile for his efforts.
God. Skinny or huge, Steve Rogers is gorgeous. It really shouldn’t be allowed.
“Yeah, good point.” Face still split by a smile—I put that there, Tony preens—Steve leans against the back of the couch and sighs. “There are things I miss, though. About being small. I didn’t think I did, until…” He glances at Tony, then, and there’s no missing the blush creeping up his neck.
“Until?”
“The other day,” Steve replies. “When you de-aged, and I—when we—” Tony bites his tongue so hard he’s pretty sure he tastes blood. Don’t interrupt. Let him get it out. Steve laughs breathily. “When I hugged you, I was so glad I was in a position to protect you, physically, like that. But later on I kept thinking about how much I miss being the protected one, sometimes. Not always, but. Sometimes.” Steve looks at the photo and sighs. “I keep thinking about what it felt like when ma looked after me when I was sick, or when Bucky put himself between me and the bigger guy because he knew I couldn’t take another hit…sure I resented it a little, being so weak, but I liked…that.”
“You liked being cared for.”
The look Steve levels at Tony could drive away a storm.
“Yeah,” he husks. “I did.”
“And now that you’re—” Tony waves a hand at Steve’s everything, “—this, you think you don’t, what, deserve care?”
“Maybe?” Steve blinks. “I don’t know.”
“Cap—Steve,” Tony says, putting his hands palms-up in his lap so Steve can see all of him. No threat, no judgment. “Everyone wants to feel cared for. It’s human nature. And just because you’re superhuman doesn’t mean you’re inhuman.”
Damn if those therapy sessions Pepper forced him into aren’t paying off big time right now. If the sheen in Steve’s eyes is anything to go by, Tony’s hit the nail right on the head.
“Oh,” he breathes.
“Yeah,” Tony smiles. Butterflies be damned, he moves the project file onto the coffee table next to his now-cold mug and turns toward Steve. Slowly, he opens his arms. “C’mere,” he says, so quiet only Steve would hear if anyone else was around. As it is, they’re alone in the tower, and Steve doesn’t hesitate—one moment Tony’s arms are empty and the next he’s got 240 pounds of solid muscle curling into his chest and Steve’s tucking his big head under Tony’s chin like the world’s neediest Bernese mountain dog.
Thankfully, Tony’s arms are just long enough to fit all the way around Steve’s massive shoulders. And even if they weren’t, he’d find a way to make it work.
Knees knocking together, feet brushing up against each other on the carpet, Steve shifts and adjusts until he can wrap his arms around Tony’s waist. Once he settles in, he sighs right into the notch at the base of Tony’s throat. “Thank you, Tony.”
“Anytime, big guy,” Tony replies, softly with a warm smile he thinks Steve can’t see.

Post-trip round-up, integration, thoughts (cut for length & some Heavy Shit)
WOW I needed that and I am so glad I realized I needed that. It has been well over ten years since I last took LSD, and my reluctance to indulge in psychedelics again was rooted in a long and complicated history that I don't really need to hash out here, but doing a mild dose of mushrooms last weekend gave me the confidence and conviction that I was ready.
Would it have been wiser to take a less bonkers dose for the first time in a decade plus? Probably! Do I regret a single moment of it? Not a whit! It's tough to overstate just how powerful, therapeutic, and restorative a good acid trip is, even an occasionally intense, uncomfortable one. I do not recommend eating multiple tabs of extremely good blotter on your first rodeo, but Adam's even more of a veteran psychonaut than I am, so I was 1000% well cared for, totally safe, and in a comfortable, familiar environment. In that setting, and in a positive frame of mind, acid is not going to throw anything at you that you are not equipped to handle. I would love to make this an annual or biannual thing.
The cool, funny, wacky delightful stuff:
Put it under my tongue at 10 AM-ish. Went to go listen to some music and doodle until it kicked in. I forgot that the come-up is like, do not make any fucking plans involving hand-eye coordination LMAO. I was trying to doodle Bowery Ballroom in an old sketchbook, and that devolved quickly. The markers were old so some of the caps were really stuck on there, and I wound up devolving into fits of laughter from the absurdity of pulling the caps off with my teeth.
Ink stains on my hands started writhing and trailing and were very cool. That was the first thing I noticed. I got very sad that I stopped drawing and making art, which was something I did all my life and almost went to school for but stopped doing as an adult. And then I realized I could start drawing again any time if I wanted to, and I didn't have to be GOOD at it or a proper artist for it to be worthwhile and fun. Felt immediately happy again.
Adam decided to watch Lethal Weapon???? I was like, Don't Like That. Even though he had headphones on and I couldn't hear anything. I am ambivalent about screens at best when I'm tripping, and at worst I don't even want to be in the same room with them. Guns and violence seemed comically, brutally stupid. Turned my back to the TV and continued drawing and writing until I could no longer hold a pen. Eventually Adam got on my wavelength and was like yeah, this is too much! (He took like, twice the dose that I did. I have no idea how he was even able to talk to me, but he managed!)
Felt the need to message Liana while peaking, picked up my phone, and saw that she had already sent me this:
I thought that was HILARIOUS (tbh it actually was, and it was not just the acid talking)
For the first few hours of teeth-grinding, reality-shearing intensity, Adam and I mostly lounged in bed with the shades pulled all the way up and the window open, cuddling and petting Ernie. Fantastic bonding experience for the whole fam.
Looking at every surface in the apartment became like looking at a stained glass ceiling, or an infinite mandala, or the muddied rainbows in oil-slicked puddles. It looked like Ernie's fur was breathing and someone had colored all over the white parts of him with a highlighter. Adam agreed with this assessment. Formica on the kitchen counters was bananas. So were the trees outside, rippling like celluloid and brighter green than I had ever seen them.
The two of us spent a good 15 minutes doubled over with laughter because Adam suggested a contraption for funneling Fancy Feast directly into Ernie's mouth, kind of like shotgunning a beer
Adam: "I can't believe I used to to this and get on the subway and try to do things with people." Me: "What? How did you even figure out how to get from Point A to Point B?" Adam: "I mean, we didn't, really. We usually got lost. It was fine, though." Truly, it's about the friends you make along the way!
The second half of the trip, when things are starting to mellow out a bit, is when you become a real rock star. I went outside for a walk around the neighborhood, and to sit in the park with my headphones on while watching kids play on the playground, and it was ECSTATIC. I was just overjoyed. My face still hurts from smiling.
Forgot that I needed money to realize my goal of obtaining a popsicle, so I had to detour back into the apartment and explain all of this to my husband before resuming the popsicle quest. He thought it was very funny, but sympathized.
Fresh air, popsicles and San Pellegrino on acid. On another level! 100/10.
Bathrooms still universally suck, LOL. -10/10. Not a fan of that bathroom while tripping face! Every time I had to pee it was like WELL here we go again into the Pink Squirming Hell Chamber (I am making this sound like more of a big deal than it actually was)
15 HOURS. 15 HOURS Jesus Christ lmao I did not stop seeing weird shit on screens and surfaces until like 1 AM. And even then, if I stared long enough, funky colors and patterns would re-emerge. It's a commitment. I feel happy and refreshed, but also totally exhausted. Definitely have to budget a full weekend of No Plans for any future trips.
The Heavy Shit:
There is some Cronenberg-level body horror right before the visuals get super rainbow-stained and stereotypically psychedelic, which sounds bad, but I promise it isn't. It's watching the veins pulse under your skin and change into very saturated colors, pores and hair and scars become very defined and wiggly, and as someone who has so much bodily anxiety related to my alopecia/IBS, it was weirdly... freeing? You get to experience all this stuff in an entirely new frame of mind, shedding judgment and old thought ruts. I remember thinking, "I do not need to feel shame about my body," and letting go of so much baggage.
At some point mid-afternoon I decided to retrieve my phone from the drawer again, and saw that I had a missed call and a voicemail from my dad. I decided to play it back, and he was just phoning to tell me that he was listening to a live version of "Sally Simpson" and Keith was doing this thing where he wasn't even touching the cymbals, and had I listened to that specific performance before and noticed the same thing, and wasn't he truly the greatest drummer that ever lived? "Anyway, no need to call me back, just wanted to let you know. I love my bubbie!" (His term of endearment for me.) And I went to go sit in bed and weep for a straight 15 minutes, the most cleansing, purging cry you could possibly imagine, while Adam hugged me and rubbed my back. I was overwhelmed, overcome by this feeling of cosmic Love and Connection with my family and my husband and all of my friends.
I had been sitting on and burying so much fear and distress from the past 18 months, the chronic, low-grade trauma that was worrying if COVID was going to kill my father, my best friend and closest confidante and the one person on earth who I feel truly Gets Me on a spiritual level, and all of that came out. Fully processed and released every ounce of grief. What replaced it was the absolute, unshakable faith that no matter what happens — including my greatest fear, which is inevitable, no matter how far off it may be — he will always be with me, and a part of me, in the music we both love, and I will never, ever lose that.

Dude, Corey is getting so annoying with all these tweets. Yes, he said he was going to stop ghost hunting multiple times and now he's pretending he hasn't. Now Jake is responding to one of Corey's tweets that makes it seem like they're both shading snc. My favorite tweet was Corey saying he doesn't put drama online, like booboo a tweet saying you don't put drama online is putting drama online. He was the first person from the original trap house that I followed, but now I feel like I can't support him and his antics any longer.
i just looked over his tweets this morning and... i definitely have some opinions on them lol
that being said, if what corey (and even jake to some extent) said is pissing you off or upsetting you, just mute them or block them until you feel better. at the end of the day what they do shouldn't effect our lives and isn't important. but if it is upsetting you or causing you stress, know that your mental health is first priority and muting/blocking them doesn't make you a bad fan either <3
so i think my main problem with this whole thing is that he's upset ppl are taking something he said and using it against him. i get that he said 'i don't want to do ghost hunting anymore' two-ish years ago, but regardless of how long ago it was... he still said it. you can't be upset when someone uses your own words against you. regardless of the time frame, you still said it. also, tbh any time i've seen him in a ghost hunting situation, he seems like he hates it and doesn't want to be there. maybe he's just scared, but when you don't look like you are enjoying something... i'm gonna assume you don't want to do this anymore. not to mention after he said that in snc's video, he literally came out with a spooky podcast with aaron, did ghost hunting with aaron, and came out with a ghost hunting app with aaron. so even back then he went against his own words.
and that's why ppl are upset now; not for what he said two years ago, but for the fact he said he was moving out of the trap house to pursue music and dance, but then immediately goes with elton and does tfil stuff. has he released some music? yes, but collectively not as much as it seemed he was gonna be doing once he moved out. plus, him saying 'i do djing all the time yall just don't know' okay.... so were ppl supposed to be mind readers? were we supposed to call up clubs in LA and ask if you were djing there? you don't tell ppl, ppl don't know, and thus they assume.
honestly i think the bigger issue here isn't really even about corey, but about elton. bc of what elton has been doing all this fucking time, once corey moved out of the trap house and into a house with elton, of course it's gonna look like he's choosing a side and going against snc. and the reason why he has a lot of fans is bc of snc, so the second you go against them, ppl are gonna call you out.
and to say you handle drama off of social media like a man... babe, hate to break it to you, but you're literally doing the exact opposite right now. also, way to call out elton without meaning to lol
obviously corey has every right to be upset when he feels slighted by his own fanbase, or just ppl in general. but the reason you have the success you do is bc of your fans. so when you start to do stuff unprovoked or without explanation, fans are going to have a problem and start questioning your motives. if they assume wrong and you don't clarify, you only get to be upset so much.
and if he has some weird beef with snc but is handling it behind the scenes, good. love that for him. maybe he should pass that along to elton.

Six Months
someone wondered when the Baroness (a side character from the Tournament aka Sir Reynard and the Red Knight which I wrote earlier this year) was coming back and uh, “back” implies that she ever left in the first place, tbh. spoilers: she didn’t.
anyway so here’s a little something something
its a quick family story plus a story about civilians in wartime packed into a little over 4000 words. rated PG. ft teen romance drama, sheep, grown up romance non drama, and not a single canon witcher character. think Roseanne (original show not the weird remake that died on arrival for Reasons) but in the setting of The Witcher. or don’t if u have no idea what i’m even talking about b/c u dont watch 90s cable sitcoms constantly like i do lol.
Six Months:
The Nilfgaardian soldiers came at night, but they found an empty manor house. The occupants had had plenty of warning they were on their way; the family’s oldest son had ridden nonstop from Rivia Castle to warn them that there had been a coup, that the Queen had vanished and her young son was in charge, and that it was only a matter of time before their old enemy Caldwell came looking for them. Hilde thought they were, in many ways, fortunate - not lucky, because no luck had been involved - fortunate that their son was riding his fastest horse, fortunate that the rest of the household managed to collect what they could and hide the rest without dramatics or incident, fortunate to have somewhere else to go. An old herbalist’s hut in the woods wasn’t much, but it was, she’d said, a roof over their heads. They’d always had a plan, in case everything in their lives went very badly wrong. Everything had, and the hut was part of it.
Then her son rode off with most of her other sons and the rest of her husband’s knights, on the chance that the Queen was out there somewhere, and left the place somewhat emptier-feeling in his absence.
“Wish I was going with them,” the Baron said, looking down the woodland road after them.
“We talked about this, Eldred; you’re sixty-seven years old, your eyesight’s going bad, and your knees don’t bend anymore. A warband’s got no use for you.”
“I know that,” he said. “Don’t mean I don’t wish I was going.”
A little flock of sheep crossed the path, with some of her nephews trailing after them, waving sticks and shouting.
“I’ll be worried about them, too,” she said, as one of the sheep suddenly bolted. Eldred took her hand, squeezed it, and limped off after it.
The next time their paths crossed he was in a slightly better mood. She hooked her arm through his elbow and looked up at the full moon through the trees.
“Can’t hear myself think in there, so I came out here for some fresh air,” he said. There wasn’t enough room inside for even half the people who had followed them along. Most of the household had settled around the hut in tents and bedrolls. The inside of the hut was still jammed with the smaller children. They were also fortunate that it was spring, and nobody would freeze to death sleeping outside. No luck involved, again. No army fought in the winter, although she wouldn’t put it past the Empire to try.
“We’ll have to build pens for the sheep and pigs, tomorrow,” she said. “Maybe some more shelters, too. The farmhands can do it. And I’ll organize some of the women t’ forage in the woods. We’re fortunate it’s spring. We might be living off pottage of oats and chickweed, but we won’t starve t’ death.”
“You know,” Eldred said, “I was thinking I might get a shot at some of these invaders after all. They might turn up here.”
“They might.”
“Wouldn’t want any spies or wanderers t’ spot us and take word back to th’ army that we’re out here.”
“No.”
“Anyhow, with all these boys out here, I thought I might train ‘em up a little, just in case.”
“That’s not a bad idea.”
“Might take some of these girls, too,” he added.
“Even better,” she said. He smiled down at her.
“We’ll be safe here.”
“Of course we will, with you around,” she said.
———
Wars were just a part of life. She was born and raised in Rivia; she’d grown up watching her brothers and father ride off to war with Lyria, over and over again. Her father was killed by a Lyrian archer when she was twenty-three. She’d watched her mother’s face while they buried him. She never wanted to know what it took to make someone wear that hard, dead expression. Over a decade later the King married a Lyrian princess and those wars stopped, but more took their place. There had been the rebellion, after the King died, led by her own disgruntled brothers, who refused to serve a Lyrian; her husband’s promotion from petty knight to Baron was a direct result of the glory he’d won putting it down. That war had almost destroyed her marriage, but they’d pulled through, in the end. Then there had been bandits, minor invasions, civil unrest; it seemed like there was always something to fight over, but never anything new. Whether Lyrians were killing Rivians or Nilfgaardians were killing Rivians, they always had the same damn excuses for it. The older she got, the less patience she had for any of them.
———
Smoke from cooking fires floated through the newly cleared area around the camp. The forest echoed with the sounds of axes hitting wood and more trees falling. The pigs slept in the shade out of the heat, watched over by a pack of skinny boys from the village. The herbalist’s hut sat surrounded by a dozen almost identical buildings - buildings, children, chickens, dogs, a donkey that someone had brought in, loaded down with rushes -
The Nilfgaardians hadn’t found them, but a whole lot of other people somehow had. Some of them brought livestock or food, but a hell of a lot of them had nothing but the clothes on their backs. Hilde refused to turn them away, even if a few of the hands muttered darkly about spies and famine. More was better; more people meant more hands to work and more eyes to keep watch. Eldred’s little force of skinny teenagers with homemade bows and farmhands armed with handaxes had grown in size, if not, in her opinion, in quality. He seemed pleased with them, at least. Some of them were standing watch at the edges of the clearing. She was pretty sure none of them were asleep.
It turned out they weren’t; a minor racket interrupted the idyllic peace of the summer afternoon - some kind of argument, she thought. She abandoned the shirt she was mending and headed to the north side of the buildings, where she found a pair of youths shouting at each other. One, she noticed, was her own youngest son, waving a bow and turning an impressive shade of red. The other was a dark-haired girl. The latter spotted her before the former; Hilde watched with detached interest as the girl’s eyes widened and her stance shifted from aggressive to frozen fear.
“Herron,” she said. “It’s -”
“What’s this about?” Hilde asked.
“- your mother.”
Herron deflated, visibly.
“We were just - we were talking,” he said, staring at his own feet.
“I heard.”
“Just a - a disagreement over the watch schedule,” said the girl. She raised an eyebrow, considered telling them to cut the shit, and then decided not to. Whatever it was, it was probably harmless, and it wouldn’t be improved by her involvement.
“If you have an issue, take it up with the Baron,” she said. “Meanwhile, quit disturbing the peace.”
The girl bowed and escaped at not quite a jog. Herron stared after her, still beet red.
“Who’s that?” she asked.
“Nobody.”
“No?”
“She’s just - she wasn’t at the right guardpost.”
“Whatever you say,” she said. Herron was shifting uncomfortably, showing the usual signs of a teenager who desperately wanted to escape.
“Go on,” she said. “Get back t’ work.”
———
Herron had begged to go to war with his brothers. He was only fourteen, and although he looked like a skinny, lanky, teenage copy of his father, he had none of Eldred’s athletic ability. The best that could be said for him was he was a decent shot. Maybe he would have survived the battlefield, but she didn’t want to take the chance. Besides, he was her baby boy; she felt like he had been ten years old only the week before. She couldn’t let him go, and Eldred had taken one look at her face and hadn’t argued with her. The resulting angst had taken weeks to wear off.
Whatever Herron was up to, she was just glad he was finally speaking to her again.
———
The rainy season hit exactly on time; a genuine stroke of luck, because the rain would keep their ever-increasing hideout a secret for a little longer. The pigs were happy, but the sheep and humans less so. Hilde and her selected lieutenants kept the place running anyway, despite the endless mud, the nonstop damp, and the weather that ranged from a drizzly mist in the mornings to downpours in the afternoons and evenings that were so heavy Eldred stopped making his militia patrol the forest for fear they’d get lost or drown in a flash flood.
During one of the downpours one of the militia members came splashing through the mud and into the hut. Eldred stopped scrubbing rust off his sword.
“Something going on?”
Hilde thought he sounded a little too hopeful.
“Nothin’,” the man said. “Not really. Just, we had this kid come up t’ th’ east guardpost just now.”
“Ask around; has t’ belong to someone around here,” Hilde said.
“Don’t think so, milady, on account of it ain’t a human child.”
“Oh. I’ll take a look,” she said. “Go on, I’ll be there.”
Eldred shook his head slightly at her as she stood and pulled a cloak around herself.
“What?”
“Nothin’.”
She could barely see where she was going, but she managed to slop her way through the muck between the huts and made her way the guardpost. A little pack of militia stood around the spot, watching a single, very small shape that huddled under a blanket. The shape didn’t look up when the guards all spotted her and stood.
“Honestly,” she said. “How many people does it take to keep an eye on one five-year-old? Don’t you all have work to do?”
“We were thinkin’ maybe there could be Squirrels about,” someone explained, awkwardly. She rolled her eyes; the expression might have lost some effect in the pouring rain and dark, so she added a little of it to her tone.
“Yes, well. If so, I’ll protect you, Jenny. Get going, all of you. Find something else to do.”
Most of them trailed off, muttering among themselves. One man stuck around; she raised an eyebrow at him, which he seemed to take as a sign. He stumped off a few yards away and stood squinting out at the dark woods. She rolled her eyes again and crouched down.
“Hello. Who are you?”
“I’m six,” the huddled shape said.
“What’s that?”
“You said I was five.”
“Oh. Sorry. It’s hard to tell for sure, under that blanket.”
“I don’t want t’ get wet.”
“What’s your name?”
“Ailfe.”
“My name’s Hilde,” she said. “If you come with me, you can get something to eat and sit in front of a fire. What do you say?”
“Alright.”
Ailfe sat next to the fire, inhaling a steaming bowl of barley and dandelion leaves. Hilde offered seconds after the first bowl was done, bided her time, and, finally, asked, “So - Ailfe. Where are your parents?”
The girl shrugged, took just enough time away from eating to say, “Dead,” and went back to it. Eldred shook his head again, slightly, when she glanced at him; he had looked less than surprised when she came in out of the rain lugging a bundle. He was trying to look like he was wearily embracing the inevitable, but she could see a hint of a smile in the corners of his mouth. She smiled back.
“Where are you from?”
“Dravograd,” Ailfe said.
“Ah.”
She’d heard rumors, in passing, through the militia, who’d heard them from the merchants on the roads. Hilde knew enough to believe them.
“Well,” she said, “You can stay here, if you like; it’s not like we don’t have the room, and you can help my nephews with the sheep. How’s that sound?”
“Fine.”
Not twenty minutes later, the girl was dead asleep. Hilde pulled a dry blanket around her and stretched out on the pallet in the corner next to Eldred.
“Couldn’t let her starve,” she said to him.
“We’ve had stranger things than elves in our family, I suppose,” he replied. “Remember my uncle Egbert? Th’ one who turned into an enthusiast and became a priest of Pareplut?”
“I always wanted a daughter.”
“I know,” he said, kissed the side of her head, and added, “I love you.”
“And I love you, Eldred,” she said.
-——
When she’d decided she was going to marry him, her parents hadn’t been too sure about the idea. She was twenty and he was slightly more than a decade older, but she’d seen him in the tournaments, and she’d heard about him outside them. He was very often the best knight on the field - perfect form, an undeniable talent - and he was a close cousin to the King, and her aunt’s husband had it on good authority that he was as capable an administrator as he was a fighter. It was true that he wasn’t much to look at, but she wasn’t foolish enough to care about his missing front tooth, or the scar on his chin, or his crooked nose. The day he’d won yet another tournament and gallantly offered her the prize with a gap-toothed smile, she knew nobody in the world was going to change her mind about Sir Eldred Greenwood. Her parents would just have to get used to it.
——
The rain stopped for good and the sun cooked all the water out of the air. She started sending the kids and donkeys off to the stream, a mile away, every morning and evening to fill kegs with water. Ailfe trooped along with the others, wearing a shapeless cap that covered her ears, looking as filthy and half-wild as any of them. She had forgotten about the incident with Herron completely.
She was sitting on the top rail of a fence in the twilight, watching bats flutter through the smoke and lights of the camp and chatting about nothing in particular with Eldred. Anything resembling privacy was hard to come by, but most people seemed to be off doing something, somewhere, and nobody was near the sheep pens. At least, they didn’t think so, but they were wrong. Right around the time she lost interest in the bats and they ran out of things to talk about, something interrupted the forgotten background hum of insects and humanity.
“Wynn?” a voice said, from the nearby guardpost, out of sight past a shed. Eldred jumped about three inches and, to her mild disappointment, stopped kissing her.
“What the hell-”
She covered his mouth with her hand, quickly.
“Shush.”
It was only Herron. She recognized his voice. She didn’t immediately recognize the voice that responded.
“Hi Herron. You on watch?”
“Yep.”
“When do you get off?”
“Uh, in around an hour. Why?”
She figured it out, after some thought; it was the girl he’d been arguing with, weeks earlier. Eldred raised an inquiring eyebrow up at her. She shook her head at him.
“Do you want t’ get dinner afterward? My folks are cooking a chicken that quit laying.”
“Oh,” Herron said. “I already ate.”
After a brief pause, the girl said, “Um, well, have a good shift, then. I’ll see you later.”
“Later,” Herron replied.
Hilde waited a minute, then sighed wearily. Eldred looked pained.
“That was the single worst thing I’ve ever overheard,” he commented.
“I’m thinking you ought to have a talk with our son,” she replied, quietly.
“First thing in the morning, and not a minute later,” he agreed. “Anyway, what were we talking about?”
“We weren’t.”
————
They’d had five sons. The oldest, Hal, had a wife and children of his own. He was at court, most of the time; Eldred had sworn off the place as soon as Hal was old enough to go without him, and only went up for holidays and emergencies. Edgar and Robin, the twins, were five years younger and as unalike as they could make themselves. Edgar was a wanderer, had barely been home for most of the last decade. She wasn’t sure if it was fortunate or not that he had been home during the spring. Robin had just gotten married during the winter, and had a position at court. Jack, the fourth, had died of consumption when he was four. Her youngest son was a surprise; she’d been over forty when he was born, and nobody had expected both of them to survive the event, but they’d been wrong. Herron was weedy, but he was as strong as an ox. He looked like his father, crooked nose and all, but he acted just like her long-dead oldest brother - kind, loyal, brilliant, and unbelievably easy to manipulate. It worried her, sometimes, but she knew better than to wonder if her youngest son would come to a similar end. There was nothing to be gained by dwelling on the past, and even less by trying to predict the future.
———
The dry spell continued. One evening the donkeys and children went off as usual. An hour later as she was helping finish butcher one of the pigs, one of the boys scrambled out of the woods. Hilde balanced the knife in her hand and glanced at the trees behind him. Nothing seemed to be following him - at least, not very closely.
“What’s wrong?”
“They’re comin’,” he said, wide-eyed and shaking.
“Who?”
“Black Ones. We was on our way back, and - and -”
She swore under her breath and turned quickly; she would have told one of the others to get Eldred, find the militia, but it was too late; someone had already gone.
“- they took all the donkeys,” he continued, “Even Donny.”
“What about all your friends? The other kids?”
“I don’t know; everyone was running around, and there were soldiers, and nobody was payin’ attention to me and I just ran away.”
Herron raced up, sweating heavily.
“Ma, someone said th’ enemy’s here, and dad says t’ get everyone inside th’ stockade-”
“Yes, I know what t’ do,” she said. “There’s a bunch of kids out in these woods, somewhere.”
Her daughter was out there, somewhere. She had to go find them.
“I’ll go look for them,” Herron said. “I’ll find them.”
He looked terrified. She couldn’t send him - but she couldn’t not send him; she knew she couldn’t really go herself. What would she do out in the woods? Get lost. Get killed. Herron was, if nothing else, a good shot, and a halfway decent hunter.
“I can do it,” he said. He looked even younger than he actually was, but he sounded confident. She breathed out and nodded.
“Please be careful.”
“I’ll try.”
The stockade was barely a wall; it was a fence with a gate, but it was better than nothing. They’d built it to head height with the sharp ends of logs pointed out toward the trees, and it wouldn’t stop an arrow, but it would stop a horse. Hilde stood by the gate, looking through the holes in the fence at the path her husband and a bunch of teenagers and farmers had taken into the woods. He had trooped out with a sword in his hand, smiled at her under his helmet, and hadn’t looked back. She told herself he would be fine, and Herron would be fine, and the collection of women armed with axes and pitchforks and old spears left over to defend the entirety of the camp would be fine.
Hours passed, and nothing happened. The feeling of stretched nerves in the air turned to one of faint boredom as the afternoon wore on. She took to pacing the perimeter of the fence, watching the trees for movement, listening for a sound other than the endless rattle of cicadas and crickets and the noise of livestock and people. The shadows got long, and nothing happened. She sternly told herself not to worry, or, at least, not to imagine horrible things that could be happening very far away.
“Horses,” someone suddenly said. “I hear horses comin’.”
She stared out at the woods, clutching the makeshift spear she’d armed herself with. There were horses out there; she heard a rumble that could only be a line of heavy cavalry, dozens of armored horses and men. She’d heard them a thousand times in a thousand melees, and she could imagine exactly what they would do to her mass of barely-armed, unarmored peasants if they broke through the fence.
“Get ready with the spears,” she said. “Just like we practiced.”
Spears was an overstatement; more than a few of the people who lined up behind the fence with the points of their weapons facing toward the trees were holding pitchforks, but Eldred had thought they’d do just as well. She had her own doubts, but they didn’t have anything better. Any side conversations ended as the sound of the oncoming cavalry rumbled louder; they stood and sweated and waited until the first horse appeared on the narrow road between the trees. She squinted at it; it was hard to see in the dusk, and she wasn’t very familiar with Nilfgaardian armor, but she didn’t think the rider was wearing black. In fact, the knight riding up at the head of the column had a distinctly familiar seat. She breathed, finally, and leaned the spear on the fence.
“Those are Lyrian banners,” someone said.
“It’s a trick,” someone else replied, shakily.
“No,” she said. “No it isn’t. Open the gate.”
She trooped up the road, met the column, found Herron limping along beside them with a bandage on his leg, a pack of children surrounding him, and Ailfe in his arms.
“What happened?”
“I did it,” Ailfe announced. “I saved the day.”
“Oh?”
“Well, sort of,” her son replied. “She did keep the Blackclads from catching her and the other kids -”
“-we climbed a tree,” a boy announced, smugly.
“-and then I found them and they caught me -”
“Herron fought like a good one,” said Ailfe. “He got wounded, look.”
“- then Dad and the lads turned up and attacked the Nilfs -”
Ailfe finished the story in an excited shout.
“- and then, durin’ the fight, th’ army came!”
The knight from the head of the column pulled up and stopped.
“Not that we needed help,” he said.
“No, of course not,” Hilde replied, rolling her eyes at him.
“- anyway, it all ended more or less well,” said Herron. “And they’re saying the Queen’s back.”
She looked up at Eldred, caught a gap-toothed grin on his face.
“Oh?”
Eldred nodded at her.
“We can go home soon,” Herron said.
“Home?” Ailfe asked.
“I’ll tell you all about it,” he said. “Come on, let’s get down to the camp. Ma, are you coming?”
“In a minute,” Hilde said.
“Well,” she said, in the comparative quiet after they left, “Did you see any of our sons?”
“Not in this unit - these people are just scouts, really,” Eldred said.
“They’re all alive, at least?”
“Far as I know. We’ll see them soon enough, if all goes well.”
“That’s a relief.”
“Can I give you a lift back?”
“A ride from a noble knight? I can’t say no to that,” she said.
The camp was swarming with Lyrian soldiers, Rivian civilians, donkeys, barking dogs, and runaway goats and sheep. Eldred reined in the horse at the gate and overlooked the chaos. She thought she caught a glimpse of Herron and Wynn, ducking out of sight behind a hut, and quickly pointed out the leader of the soldiers.
“Ah,” Eldred said. “Well, I suppose we could wade into this mess and talk to him -”
“You’re the Baron,” she interrupted. “You can’t just sneak off by yourself with all this going on. Also, it’s getting dark.”
“I wasn’t going to go by myself.”
“Oh,” she said.
“What I’m thinking is we go off somewhere and come back after this has a chance t’ calm itself down -”
“I suppose I can always pretend you kidnapped me,” she said. “Someone has to maintain an appearance of responsibility around here.”
“I promise to have you back before dark,” he said. “What d’ you say?”
“It’s a deal.”
“Someone told me our Hal’s a Colonel, now,” he said, turning the horse around. She wrapped her arms around his waist and propped her chin up on his shoulder to see the road ahead.
“Is he?”
“Not that it’s a surprise; he’s just like you.”
“A social climber?”
“A pragmatist.”
“You always were a romantic, Eldred.”
“I’m a lucky man. We wouldn’t have made it all these months without you.”
Luck had nothing to do with it; they’d planned and fought and were, again, fortunate that it had all worked out in the end. She buried her face in his neck and let him think it had, anyway.
“I can’t wait to go home,” she said.

character ask: kagami, momoi, alex and himuro 👀👀👀
!!! omg thank u Ceru! u might be one of my favorite mutuals <33 (putting this under a read more just so I can speak at lengths about each individual character)
Why I like Kagami: this is where I sarcastically ask “why DON’T i like him” but that’s literally the next question so; he’s everything i want to be and more. He has the determination and the willpower to make his own dreams come true, he’s gay as shit, he’s tall and buff and well-adjusted, mature enough to live on his own at an annoyingly young age, he’s funny and dumb and a total himbo as well as an excellent advisor bc of how grounded he is.
Why I don’t: I’m... not really good with explosive people. Violent men with loud voices especially scare me, and I’d think I’d flinch around him a lot and that would make me rlly anxious.
Favorite episode: it’s a toss-up between the Seirin fam visiting his place for the first time (is it where Kuroko confesses his love to him and then passes out in his arms? idk), and the onsen episode. I also loved all his plays against Kise and Aomine. AND the training camp w him running a lot in the sand.
Favorite season/movie: season 2 probably because he’s not a jerk anymore, but he’s still on his way to shed off any asshole behavior stuck to him. And I actually liked Last Game?
Favorite line: “There’s no such thing as useless effort.” and “This is our drama and we write the plot.” because he’s so ridiculous.
Favorite outfit: all of his casual fits... comfy but manly is my Jam
OTP: AoKaga....they’re truly soulmates, star-crossed lovers, canonically brought together by fate.
Brotp/otp no. 2: KagaKuro, I love them
Head Canon: I have several collections because I think too much about this boy, but here’s something I think about his family: he doesn’t know what happened to his mom. He never asked, because it wasn’t relevant, and he didn’t want to inconvenience his dad by questioning him. Occasionally, as a kid he felt like he was missing out on something (seeing other kids with their moms, feeling like they’re being treated with much more gentle care because they have moms), but as he grew older he realized that nurturing behavior shouldn’t have been limited to only a mother, and that he was just straight up neglected without any regards to missing a parent in his life.
Unpopular opinion: I never realized this was an unpopular opinion but I’m glad he went back to America at the end of Last Game. Obviously, it’s sad that he had to separate from the others, but I felt like Japanese basketball has always been just a stepping point to him, and now that he’d beat the best of them, it was time to move on. And it also warms my heart that him getting scouted in the US gave Aomine hope to aim big, too. I felt like both of them would’ve felt trapped in Japan with their skill sets.
A wish: I want him to be happy and gay and to confront Himuro and tell him how hurt he was by how he treated him and probably do the same to his dad too
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: ....whatever I’d say Shinsun has probably written it/will write it, but I don’t want him to forget about the GoM just because he becomes a world-famous athlete.
5 words to best describe them: sweet child with anger issues
My nickname for them: not mine (it’s Sypha’s) but “Kags”, Kagami, Tigerboy, Kagababe, Baby
Why I like Momoi: she is SO nurturing and sweet and she cares so much about her boys!! I’m sorry it always turns into “how they remind me of myself” but actually I get feeling like a background character and being the moral/emotional/physical support of those who are more talented or in any way better than you. I feel a strange kind of kinship with her and also,,, feminine girls make my heart stop, and it doesn’t get more feminine than Momoi. Added: Aomine aside, the Touou team wouldn’t worth shit without her skills tbh, and she’s not in any way less than the GoM. Also, I appreciate her being the one person to try to keep their friend group together.
Why I don’t: Analytical People Scare me like!! how do u know stuff people are Unknowable!! I usually am also irked by her pointing out Riko’s breast size but I can just pretend that’s in a gay way (maybe Momoi likes girls with small boobs and she’s just bad at flirting) (also I don’t exactly liked her calling Aomine a “ganguro” but I have too little knowledge on the use of this word to say exactly why)
Favorite episode (scene if movie): uh the one where Aomine made her cry? It really came through how much love she actually has for her friends at that one.
Favorite season/movie: she was great in all of them!!
Favorite line: I can’t remember the exact quote and Google isn’t really helpful either but the one where she made Kuroko promise they’ll always play together or something? Or that they’re gonna beat Aomine?? idk?
Favorite outfit: I like all of them but mostly I just appreciate her wearing so many hoodies, she looks so cute in them
OTP / Brotp: it’s both AoMomo. I feel like the have the most special and strongest bond in the entire series.
Head Canon: She’s never been shown to do, but I feel like she wears Aomine’s clothes a Lot. Also, they definitely have sleepovers To This Day.
Unpopular opinion: Momoi is good at basketball and she loves playing!!! But try being successful in it when ur opponents are Giants and Way More Buff than you are
A wish: I wish people appreciated her more!! Both in fandom and in canon. She’s an amazing person and she has her own skills and strengths that are rarely explored or even mentioned anywhere.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: her falling out with her boys ;-; I do not want that
5 words to best describe them: strawberry sweetheart to steal ur heart
My nickname for them: Satsuki :> I feel like it’s a little too much to call characters on their first names sometimes but hers is so cute I can’t
Why I like Alex: yet again another woman with an extensive skill set. I love her persistence and again I appreciate getting disillusioned and finding your way back to the thing you love. Also it’s just sweet that she did that by teaching (again, something I can relate to)
Why I don’t: the whole “kissing children” thing rubbed me the wrong way but again, just like Momoi’s obsession with comparing breast sizes, it’s just bad/sexist writing from Fujimaki probably
Favorite episode (scene if movie): adshg any and all where she expressed that Himuro and Kagami are equally important to her <33 that shit makes my heart burst
Favorite season/movie: she only appears towards the end of s2 and in s3 so... I guess s3?
Favorite line: its so Bad that u literally can’t find the iconic quotes of these iconic ladies anywhere but... her story on finding her passion again through teaching kids, and anytime she mentions her fondness of Kagami and Himuro.
Favorite outfit: her iconic olive green coat with the short red shorts... wtf was that I loved it.
OTP: she doesn’t really interact with people her age but I’ve heard she’s shipped with Masako Araki and I’ve seen some seriously good fanarts and like... Yes Good I’d Love To See It
Brotp: I feel like her and Himuro would be that sassy pair that Kagami tries and fails to contain and they get into all sorts of weird, absurd situations asdjs what I’m trying to say is Kagami has to bail them out of jail from time to time
Head Canon: fck me if I’m wrong but she’s the lesbian single mom of the two gay kids she reluctantly adopted from the streets
Unpopular opinion: it’s more like another headcanon, but she can dunk and she taught Kagami how to do it.
A wish: I’d love her to coach the Seirin fam more!! Pls let her be part of her children’s lives (she could also judge streetball games between the goms it would be fun)
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: anything about her being romantically involved with her pupils makes me.................no
5 words to best describe them: Beautiful Beach Blonde Basketball....goddess
My nickname for them: Alex!! sometimes An Icon
Why I like Himuro: em dash Asdgsdj I’m joking, I’m becoming more and more fond of the boy. Once I realized that he shouldn’t have been the “bigger person” in that situation and one year doesn’t really mean much when you’re that young and that hurt, I realized he’s actually a good and hard-working kid and I’m sorry for giving him so much shade. Also I really like his snark and sass, but that might not even be canon at this point tbh
Why I don’t: I’m still sort of irked by him beating down on Kagami because he was envious/mad, but I realized the aspect of that situation that Really got to me was how devoted Kagami still was to him after all that. That devotion was what felt toxic, nothing that Himuro actually did to him.
Favorite episode (scene if movie): the time they met up w Kagami just to exchange a dramatic socially distancing bro fist and a few encouraging words.... gays be Like That
Favorite season/movie: I really didn’t mind s3 Himuro
Favorite line: apparently he’s said some iconic stuff that I don’t remember (and my sources don’t seem really legit) but I’m gonna say “let’s see you become number 1, bro” because again, that’s just so ridiculous and endearing. On one hand he really went from loathing Kagami to rooting for him and wanting him to reach his full potential and on the other, honey ur like 17 stop speaking like That
Favorite outfit: his knitted V-neck sweaters and the black coat with the white fur.... boy’s got all the fashion sense that’s missing from Kagami
OTP: can I say.....AoHimu asdfh I ship 3/4 of these characters with Aomine what does that say about me
Brotp: KagaHimu. They can be sweet, but I’ve only ever seen Jake write them really well
Head Canon: I’ve been entertaining the idea of....trans Himuro.....
Unpopular opinion: everyone thinks that Kagami is the violent kid and Himuro is the chill, sweet child who’s somehow wound up with this mess of a fiery tiger, but it’s actually Himuro who taught Kagami how to fight and Kagami learned quite a lot of aggression from him
A wish: I feel like Himuro should’ve gotten a separate episode to explore his thoughts, feelings and past. He had so much potential as a character Is2g
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: him quitting basketball would fucking destroy me. I’d be devastated for others too, but it would really pull on my heartstrings if he just dropped the only thing he’s been so passionate about.
5 words to best describe them: gender-non-conforming emo child
My nickname for them: Himu, Tatsuya, Tatsu
#ask and i shall answer#izukillme#himuro tatsuya#alex garcia#momoi satsuki#kagami taiga#this is long as fuck#also happy birthday himuro??!!!!!

Thoughts on the 12th ep of Hypmic Rhyme Anima. Spoilers beware
Ep.1 | Ep.2 | Ep.3 | Ep.4 & 5 | Ep. 6 | Ep. 7 | Ep. 8 | Ep. 9 | Ep. 10 | Ep. 11
I am the definition of Fear.jpg rn please help
MTR are so cute, just celebrating their win. Look at how happy they are!
... Oh well thats new. I like how Ichijauku has a tiny bit more agency in throwing out ideas (it really shows how close her and otome trust each other) but it also completely retcons a part of hypmic lore that was established with the Drama tracks. If you’ve heard “” then you know what I’m talking about
SMILING DOPPO HOLY SHIT DOPPO
ahaha doppo i love you so much youre so adorable you deserve to be happy
MTR as a family is just soo good. Both as familial or
Hmm.... yes Samatoki has the right to be angry but that flattens him to a good for nothing thinks first asks questions later type of thug which is absolutely not what his character is. Especially with how the anime portrays him, it seems like there's only one emotion that he feels at any moment and that is anger. Which, fair he is an angry boy, but thats just one facet of his character. He’s also logical and not that sore of a loser, seeing that he still has room to grow (if you want an anime example, refer to the previous episode where he genuinely wonders what he could have done to treat Nemu better)
I think my biggest gripe with the adaptation is the flattening of all the characters TBH. I only really see it in Samatoki since I understand his character the most but I also see hints of it with Rio, Hifumi, and Gentaro. Most of the characters are just flattened into 2D tropes and made to act those tropes out. Which, y’know is the basis of each character but the series has built upon each character so well that its kinda jarring seeing them all so flat
I’m not sayin that I hate what the Anime has done with MTC but I hate what the anime has done with MTC
I expected a “Brocon” “Siscon” fight not this. What the fuck
☆ミ+。゜H A C K I N G ゜。+ミ☆
ahaha Ichiro you’re too trusting and pure for your own good
Okay why does all the animation budget go to making Samatoki look hot as fuck?
Ahaha they really do get along like cats and dogs. Jyuto being the voice of reason is kinda weird tho but oh well I can live with it
Tom saying “hai warat~e!” is so cute wtf?????? Lemme pet your head please
GENTARO PICKING UP HIS HAKAMA TO RUN IS ADOARBLE HELP ME
Im getting second hand embarrassment from Ramuda lmao
Slightly suspicious about how these group of reporters know the underground layout of Chuuoku so well
Oh well see I was right to be suspicious
That Unit name is really funny considering the whole Galatic Federation thing ahahaha
Oh that english! that was super clean and enunciated really well
Good intentions, bad execution. His reasoning is a bit flawed but its at least sound
hmmm usually I’d be happy about Doppo giving Hifumi his jacket but in this context not so much. See, Doppo gave it to Hifumi mostly because they had to fight, not because there were woman (which let me remind you Hifumi is deathly afraid of and the jacket acts as a wall between him and his gynophobia)
...... uh Interesting choices of microphones for Secret Aliens. Tom’s is a recording studio mic which makes some??? but not much sense. like Tom is a street photographer, not a radio host. Iris’s mic is.... I’m sorry what is that? Some sort of keyboard and.... something. idk what it is on her finger. And T. Rex just ripped out a purple dinosaur spine, stuck a mic onto the neck and called it a day. Nice
At least their speakers are somewhat better. Iris has Iris plants which. hilarious, but also very modern looking and sleek fitting of her more tech savvy nature as a hacker Theres also phone cameras which makes sense but the butterfly imagery which is present .... Fear.jpg. Rex again just went with a T. Rex Speaker which. Thank you rex for being very predictable, we love you so much. That soundwave looks like DNA too which is cool as hell. Tom.... Idk man Tom are you okay? What exactly is your speaker? are they those aperture umbrella things that photographers use? Im so confused, photographers in the fandom please help
YOOOOOOOOO THAT RAP THOUGH IRIS SOUNDS SO PRETTY?!?!?!? Can she please sing me to sleep? its so smooth and rolling. If I had to describe it, I would say that its the type of voice that I would hope would sing the ballads that I compose, the voice of a mother who still holds on to something after loosing everything she has fought for.
Too bad Iris doesn’t get a verse to Rap in but holy shit what? Secret Aliens just might become one of my fave divisions based off song alone
Ah theres the cancellers. Thats fun, nice to see that there isn’t an adaptation induced plot hole in this One instance. Lets see if they can patch up the other plot holes created because the anime and source material went into different places
Dice, bad. no cheating. Bad dice
Ahaha there the flash bomb. That high pitch wailing was awful though. please never do that again
Hah, typical Ichijaku. We love it
Oh look at them. Working together. How cute. I really like Rio and Saburo interactions mostly because theres so much potential
Oh noooo i worry for FP
That growl from Ichijaku though. That did things to my heart oh my god
Aww I do like that enthusiasm from Ramuda. I do hope that things turn out at least somewhat okay for him. He’ll probably suffer
Wait why is Saburo’s left eye purple? Is it the lighting or something else? I hope its just the lighting bc if anything happens to Saburo i will be very very sad (I rewatched the episode and Saburo’s eye is blue all the way up till he gets hit by Secret Alien’s attack. Even in a brightly lit area, it looks purple... i hope it isn’t forshadowing but then again Saburo’s eye has always been a darker shade of blue so it could just be the yellowish lighting since Ichiro’s red eye looks fuchsia)
Ichijaku with an angry face is kinda hot ahaha. Her deep rolling voice of anger just. Ugh very very good. Major props to her VA for pulling it off
IM FUCKING SORRY WHAT
YOU CAN”T LEAVE US ON THAT CLIFF HANGER?!
WHAT THE FUCK
IM GOING TO GO INSANE
THAT WASN’T EVEN SATISFYING?!?!?!
WHAT THE FUCK
KING RECORDS E X P L A I N
I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION
oh there’s a 13th ep
well thank fuck for a 13th ep bc if they ended the season like that i think id actually cry lol
Ugh so I guess that next week will be the last episode. I was so prepared for today to be the last episode but its kinda surprising that they have 13, slightly different from the normal season

anti LO anon opinions
(1) Ok, Persephone killed all those people by accident. But she still she MURDERED people! She should be punished. Not as harshly as if she had done it willingly, but still, justice must be served. I don’t know why Hades was so chill about the whole thing! His character was never happy about people getting killed like this. Also, he told her she was “powerful” but you are not really powerful if you don’t have control over your abilities. And let’s not forget that after that serious moment where Persephone confessed she is responsible for all these deaths they proceed to watch another tape and laugh with it. It was such a sudden change and it left a bad taste in my mouth.
(2) I’ve read the current chapter in LO and its actually bad...like REALLY BAD. Tho youve already talked about it i just wanna say how dumb and contrived it actually went down with persephone murdering the people and how Hades brushed it off like it was NOTHING. From how he acted in previous chapters i thought hed at least be a bit stern about it but noooo he just said "I think your powerful" didn’t he already said that before?? So what if she is? She still did a crime and hid that info alongside with her mother (God i fucking hate how much of a simp he is) and they immediately dial the emotional levity of the situation with some meaningless fluff. Persephone remembers the 1st time they met so i guess she was pretending to not know who he was at first then but idk anymore tbh...The tone of the entire chapter is so bad, how can persephone just act like a child and hades being all o///_///O after confessing to the murder she just did
(3) LO this week is just making Persephone not be held accountable for anything (so why would she be queen if she can't control herself?) and literally had an entire comedic moment be based around Cerberus farting. Isn't Rachel almost 40 and supposedly writing for a more mature audience? And all she can think of is uwu Persephone is flaw-free she can't control herself dont question her uwu and fart jokes? Isn't there a famous myth she could be writing off of or something?
(4) its funny the lo tv tropes page actually points out its incorrect in making h/p so nice? we know its fan run but it was a surprise to see even some of them have the good sense to point out how incorrect the work is. also the low-key shade of pointing out the characters are only colored that way or else you cant tell anyone apart. tho they did try to act like pink persephone and eros was "deep" over her being gender coded and him being a gay stereotype. Ηe was light purple in the beginning!
(5) idk if anyone else has noticed this but LO fans seem to hyper focus on the “scoundrel” scene a LOT. Maybe 95% of the fanart or edits ive seen are just of that part. It seems weird that it’s been going on nearly three years by this point including then actually making out by this point abd the mass majority of the fandom only cares about a scene from episode 3 I think. it’s very strange. i know the writing is bad but surely the fans shouldn’t be so uncaring pass the single digit episodes.

Elide x Lorcan baby headcanons
Elide and Lorcan also have many kids. Read about them
-Ok. Wow. Here we go
-So, accident is the wrong word for their first child. Elide and her husband had a long talk about their future in Perranth. They knew as Lord and Lady they'd be expected to produce and heir or two, and they both expressed that they were open to the idea of children. So they wanted a kid.
-But like,,, not really this soon.
-They've both been sporadic with their contraceptives, because they're busy rebuilding and all, and it's not the first thing on their mind usually in the morning.
-It's not like it's just one person. Neither of them are very good at taking it. They joke about it a bit and try to do better, but it's difficult. And they also think that since Lorcan is demi-fae, it will take a while for it to happen anyway. Plus, unlike Aelin, Elide is very mortal and therefore on a biological timer for having kids.
-But seriously. She's quite young. An adult, yes, but young nonetheless.
-It all starts maybe two months after Aelin announces her pregnancy, meaning the queen is around four-five months along.
-Elide wakes up one morning feeling... off. Weird. Not herself.
-She tries to dismiss it, but can't. Especially when she sits up and feels a roiling in her gut.
-Recently she's been more and more exhausted, which she credits to rebuilding and getting in the swing of all her new duties as Lady. So it's odd she's up so early, even more odd when she realizes that Lorcan is still asleep beside her. He likes to let her sleep in the morning (much to her displeasure, she has work too) so he's usually already getting ready/already gone.
-She's busy being puzzled when suddenly, her gut clenches, and she runs for the bathroom.
-And that's how her husband finds her. Puking her guts up in the toilet. He rushes to her side and holds her hair back and rubs her back and is just a doting husband in general.
-When there's nothing left in her stomach she just miserably curls into his side and lets him hold her. She hates vomiting, it's one of her least favorite things ever. And she doesn't know why she feels so terrible.
-Lorcan helps her back to bed and tucks her in, leaving the waste basket by her side just in case, and promises to be back with some tea and possibly a healer. Neither are sure what's going on, it could just be a simple stomach bug, but its better safe than sorry. And Lorcan isn't taking any chances with his wife.
-He comes back with peppermint tea, as promised. And a healer.
-Elide sips her tea to calm her stomach and tells the healer everything she ate in the past twenty-four hours, where she went, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary, those foods had never made her sick before, she wasn't in anyplace where she could have picked something up.
-The healer decides to finally go in with her magic. She gently touches Elide's stomach and lets her magic do it's thing.
-The woman looks up to the Lady of Perranth with a large smile.
-"What's going on? Is something wrong?" Lorcan asks nervously.
-"No, everything is going perfectly smoothly." The healer replies. "You're about two months pregnant, dear."
-What
-Both of the Lochans just stare in shock for a minute before Elide says, "I'm pregnant?"
-The healer nods. "Yes. You might want to stock up on peppermint tea; morning sickness isn't fun."
-Then she leaves. And so Elide is just looking at her husband, at the love of her life, and trying to read what he's feeling. But for the life of her she can't figure it out.
-"Lorcan?"
-He takes a deep, shuddering breath in that seems to steal the very heat from the room.
-He looks at the ceiling for a moment. He won't meet her gaze. Elide can feel tears pricking at the back of her eyes.
-"Oh gods." He whispers, so softly that she isn't completely sure she heard him.
-But when he looks at her again, instead of the anger or frustration she was worried about, he looks at her with as much tenderness as the day he proposed.
-"I can't believe it." He says softly. Those are tears in his eyes. He strides over to her and takes her gently in his arms, careful of her upset stomach.
-Elide isn't sure what she's feeling, mostly shock. But at the same time she's happy, and excited, and nervous, and already she's stressed. Is she going to be a good mother? She only had a mother in her life until she was seven, her nursemaid doesn't really count
-"Are you happy?" She breathes. And he murmurs onto her hair, "Beyond happy, my love. I'm ecstatic." Then he pulls her closer and kisses her softly, even though she tastes just a bit like vomit
-The next month is hard, but compared to how Aelin was in her first trimester, Elide's is a walk in the park. Morning sickness isn't great, but it lets up quickly. And she doesn't have weird taste buds, either, which is a blessing to her husband.
-She announces it at the next meeting of all the lords and ladies, and is met with nothing but congrats. Rowan gives his congrats and nods to Lorcan with the :/ face because he feels for his brother-in-arms; he also has a pregnant wife after all.
-After the first trimester it's smooth sailing. Elide is a pregnancy goddess tbh. Even though neither she nor Lorcan expected to be parents this soon, they're over the moon. Now they have to work on building a nursery as well as rebuilding their city.
-The people of Perranth are super happy for them, they get tons of gifts from citizens, even though they have no need for them. It's great. Everything is great.
-Yrene hears, of course, and offers to deliver the baby. Elide says yes, obviously.
-Lorcan is a very doting father-to-be. Elide doesn't have to lift a finger. It's very sweet, but she eventually tells him that she is still capable of doing things herself, she doesn't need him to help with everything .
-They set up the nursery together when she's six months along, in the room that Elide herself slept in as a baby. They're not sure if they're having a boy or a girl, but they'd be happy with either. Though Elide admits she would really like a girl.
-Normally Lorcan is just this stone cold male, showing no emotions ever except around Elide. That doesn't change, not really, but he's more affectionate to her in public and also he's just so sweet. He doesn't talk to the belly, but he does like to feel the baby kick and sometimes he'll just lay his head on his wife's chest so he can hear her heartbeat and also feel the baby kicks.
-It's adorable
-Aelin insists that Lorcan isn't allowed to be that cute
-Elide is like,,, exactly on her due date when she goes into labor. Yrene arrived a bit before, and she's a little surprised that Elide is having her baby on her exact due date. A little weird, but cool.
-Having only recently delivered the Crown Princess Lyria, Yrene expects this labor to be quite long and hard, since it is technically a Fae birth. Haha nope.
-Elide is in labor for about ten hours, which is pretty short for a first baby. It's a very typical labor, no complications whatsoever. Lorcan is there the whole time and holds her hand. It's painfully romantic.
-Many of the servants are nervously walking around the castle, because they love their Lady and don't want anything bad to happen to her or her child. Many congregate in the kitchen downstairs to wait.
-After ten hours of labor, Elide gives birth to a baby boy who screams so loud the servants in the kitchen downstairs can hear him. All the men and women cheer and drink to the cries of the new Heir to Perranth.
-Yrene cleans the baby up for a moment and hands him to his parents with a huge grin. Elide is smiling so wide her whole face hurts but she can't stop. Lorcan has tears in his eyes as he looks at his newborn son.
-He has dark hair, like both of his parents. A lot of dark hair. So much it gets a little on his face. Elide brushes her son's hair aside-
-Holy shit
-His ears are pointed
-Both parents' eyes widen. What??? He's like only a quarter Fae, how?
-It doesn't matter to them, of course, but like, wow.
-Content that Elide is doing well and the baby is healthy, Yrene leaves to give them some alone time with their newborn.
-Both Elide and Lorcan are crying now, out of joy. Lorcan never thought he would cry from happiness in his whole life, and look at him now. Holding his wife and looking at his newborn son.
-They'd been bouncing names back and forth for weeks, and none felt good. But looking at him, they decide on his name.
-Folas Cal Lochan, after Elide's father.
-Lorcan claims he looks more like Elide, but she insists he looks like both of them. After all, both of them have hair as dark as night. But his skin is the same pale shade as his mother's, and he has freckles dusting his little face. He looks up at them with huge black eyes, and holds his father's finger in his tiny fist.
-Elide insists that her husband go and announce it to the servants while she takes a bath. Yrene comes back in to help her.
-Lorcan goes to the kitchen and finds all the servants waiting patiently for some kind of news.
-He just cracks a half-smile and says, "it's a boy."
-And despite the fact he's a literal terrifying death warrior, he lets the servants embrace him and clasps arms with the men, and even accepts a drink.
-But he can't stand to be away for too long, so he quickly makes his way back up to his family.
-Elide is bathing, and she gently cleans her son as well, it's so tender and loving it takes Lorcan's breath away when he sees. So he lets them be for a minute. Yrene just nods knowingly from where she sits quietly in the corner of the bathing room.
-Eventually they finish and Lorcan helps Elide into bed again. He lays beside her and watches their son, and there's so much emotion in his eyes Elide nearly starts crying from it. She's also still like,,, on an emotion high tho, which is part of the reason she's crying at the drop of a hat.
-Elide hands her son to his father, and he looks so tiny in Lorcan's giant hands. Even though he's a normal sized baby he fits in both of his father's hands and it's so cute she cries again.
-They planned to have the baby sleep in a bassinet for a while before they moved him to the nursery, but neither can stand to have him not in their arms so they decide to co-sleep instead. Baby Folas falls asleep on Lorcan's chest, and Lorcan falls asleep holding his son, and look at that Elide's crying again
-About a week after the birth their friends come to see them. Lyria is about four months old at this point and she's super cute just lying next to the new baby and playing with her feet while he sleeps. Aelin is enchanted, and jokingly says it's impossible that something that cute came from Lorcan. Evangeline is enchanted, Lysandra thinks he's adorable, it's just a good day.
-So, it's hard to have alone time with a new baby, but they make it work as soon as Yrene gives the all-clear.
-And ok, maybe they were a little too enthusiastic. But it had been several good months since they were intimate and
-Yeah
-Elide doesn't think it's that strange when her cycle decides to just,,, disappear. It does that a lot. But she does think it's strange when she wakes up one morning when her son is about four months old and is very, very sick. This is giving her a weird sense of deja vu.
-She tells her concerns to Lorcan and he's like 'shit' because what if she's upset if she's pregnant again so soon?
-The healer confirms it. They're having another baby.
-Oof
-Well, in her defense, Aelin is in the exact same situation so there.
-It's true. Aelin is pregnant with her second (Sam)
-And here's the kicker: Yrene is pregnant too.
-Nice
-Not so nice, however, when they realize the closeness of their pregnancies mean Yrene can't deliver their babies. Not a problem, they can get other midwives, but they would rather their friend do it.
-Elide's second pregnancy is smoother, which is good, because her baby boy is getting bigger and she has a lot of stuff to do.
-Folas doesn't show any signs of powers other than being very fast for a baby. It doesn't matter, they love him no matter what.
-Folas walks when he's about ten months old. He stood when he was nine months, but one day he just,,, toddles over to his mom. She's only a few feet away, but still, he walked!!
-He says his first words when he's eleven months. His first word is 'mama', soon followed by 'uh oh' and finally 'dada'. Aelin will never get over Lorcan's son learning to say 'uh oh' before he said 'dada'.
-Elide goes into labor three days before she's due, and has a baby in her arms eight hours later. It's the dead of night, she's bone tired, but she's happy. It's another boy.
-Lorcan is over the moon. He like, already was, but he's so happy to have another baby it's really precious. Folas sit's on his father's lap and holds his baby brother. Elide wishes she could paint because she wants to keep this moment forever, all her favorite boys in one place.
-They name the baby Sabron. He doesn't have a middle name because neither of them have any other guys to name him after.
-And guess what. He's human. Weird af lol. So now they have a Fae-ish child and a human one. Oof
-Everything is smooth sailing, Elide is rocking it being a mom, Lorcan is literally an incredible dad? Like nobody expected him to be a good dad, not even himself (except Elide of course) but this whole parenting thing comes naturally to him. Maybe it's because he's doing the exact opposite of his own parents and he's also super old
-Elide cannot fathom how much she loves this male, like she loves him so damn much especially seeing him with their kids?? Melts her heart every time. So like seventy times a day
-Baby Sabron is six months old when it happens again.
-Elide's cycle is late. After having kids it got way more normal, so she knows what's going on.
-She supposes she could have been better at taking her contraceptive tonics, but hey, she's not upset. Neither is Lorcan when she tells him. He's happy, but worried that she'll be too stressed. She says not to worry, but he does, because he's a territorial Fae bastard and can't help himself.
-This time Yrene promises to deliver the baby.
-When both of her kids are walking, it does get a bit stressful. Especially when Folas proves to be a troublemaker.
-But everything goes smoothly, even better than last time. And boom, Perranth receives another heir.
-It's another boy. Elide loves her boys, but man would she like a daughter at some point.
-She decides not to worry, and just focus on loving her boys.
-This one is named Amias. As expected, he has dark hair and eyes, and the signature Lochan freckles.
-But Amias is also Fae, like Folas
-Folas is happy to have another little brother, especially a Fae one.
-Now picture this: a terrifying Fae warrior who's power is actual death, walking around the castle grounds with two toddlers clinging to him and holding a baby.
-That's what the gardens look like every morning, Elide thinks it's hilarious.
-Elide thinks she's done having kids, she has three wonderful boys, and she loves them with all her heart.
-But when the kids are 3, 2, and 1, she wonders what it would be like with a girl.
-She talks to her husband, and they decide to try for another baby in hopes of a girl. Of course, they wouldn't be upset with another boy, but they're aiming for a girl.
-The next Lochan child arrives when his brothers are 4, 3, and 2.
-That's right; his
-It's another boy. And... he's Fae as well.
-His name is Caeda, and he's arguably the cutest of his siblings. Nobody knows why, but he's the cutest.
-Now, around this time Folas is begging to be trained.
-He may only be four, but he's very strong, very fast, and has the same heightened senses his father has. No signs of magic.
-After discussing it with Elide, they agree to train him, but only a bit.
-With centuries old Fae warriors Lorcan is the worst trainer. But with his son he's gentle and patient and hardly ever gets frustrated.
-Rowan and Fenrys constantly joke about it, asking why he couldn't do that with them. Lorcan only growls in response.
-Caeda is six months old when his parents receive another surprise.
-Elide says that after five, no more kids. She's going on contraceptives and never coming off. Lorcan agrees. He loves his large family but seriously, they have a lot of kids
-The fifth Lochan boy arrives in the dead of night.
-They have five boys
-What the hell.
-They name this one Dalias, and he looks like all the others. There's like no variation in their kids whatsoever, it's kind of funny.
-True to her word, Elide goes on contraceptives. Lorcan does as well to make extra sure.
-Since they're sure she's not having any more kids any time soon, when Dalias is one Elide finally gets her ankle healed.
-It's a huge ordeal, and she sends all her kids away to Orynth so they both stay out of the way and so they don't have to hear her screaming. Because even with Yrene keeping the pain at bay the best she can, it's still incredibly painful. Elide can't stand the thought of her kids having to hear that or see her so weak. Lorcan stays, of course, to help her. The kids come back a month later when it's all done and Elide is learning to walk again. She has to have a cane for several months, in addition to Lorcan's usual brace.
-But eventually it's done, and she can walk and run and jump and do everything again. It's so freeing she happily chases her children around for a day.
-The years go by, and everything goes smoothly. All of the children get trained by their father and tutored by Elide so they are both honed warriors and scholars. I forgot to mention that sometime between all the kids Elide learns to read and it's soon one of her favorite things.
-But yeah, everything's great.
-But,,, they kind of feel like something's missing.
-Not a pet, because they have a dog, but something else.
-When Folas is twelve, they decide to try for another baby. Even if it's another boy.
-Years go by, and nothing. Elide begins to lose hope, they were too late, her mortal body is already too old for more kids even though she's only in her mid-thirties.
-But then,,
-It happens.
-The whole family is overjoyed.
-Yrene delivers a healthy baby girl as the sun rises on a winter morning.
-It's a girl.
-Elide bursts into tears when she hears it. She adores her boys, she loves having so many boys, but she really wanted a daughter. Lorcan too.
-They name her Marion Finnula Lochan, after Elide's mother and her nursemaid who helped her in those terrible years she was locked away.
-She's fully human, like Sabron and Dalias, but that doesn't stop her from doing anything.
-She crawls when she's seven months old and walks at nine, because she wants to run with her older brothers.
-Marion is more territorial than all her brothers and her father combined. It's hilarious, her snarl is better than that of an actual Fae.
-Marion looks exactly like Elide. All of her brothers have some resemblance to their father, but not her. She looks like her mother.
-Marion is a feisty little thing and loves training with her brothers. Elide often complains that her house has turned into a barracks.
-But she loves seeing all her children growing to be so strong and smart.
-The Lochan brothers love their baby sister, but she's honestly more protective over them than they are of her. And they are very protective of her.
-Marion is willing to beat her brothers up 24/7
-It's great
-Perranth is honestly chaos with six kids running everywhere, but it's wonderful chaos. Elide and Lorcan couldn't have it any other way.
-The story Worlds of Fire and Darkness takes place when Folas is 20, Sabron is 19, Amias is 18, Caeda is 16, Dalias is 15, and Marion is 5.

survey by egooverdose
Japan: What is one stereotype you associate with Asian countries/people? :/ :/ Uhm...
Jelly Bracelets: Do you have any? In which colors? Have you ever broken one? I seem to have forgotten what these refer to, but I’m sure I had a couple that didn’t last long. I wasn’t much into bracelets as a kid. Joakim Berg: Who is your favorite foreign singer|musician? Do you translate his or her lyrics? Beyoncé, I guess. All Americans are foreigners to me. I don’t translate her lyrics, nor do I do that with any other songs in English.
Josh Todd: Do you have any tattoos? If yes, what made you decide to get them? No, but I’d love a couple that symbolize important things or people, like a bowl of nachos for Nacho and each of my dogs’ pawprints.
kent: Say something in a foreign language? The word ‘kampana’ is Filipino for bell.
Kundera: What is one philosophy you have regarding life|living|purpose? Idk, I’m starting from scratch after the shitstorm that was this year. I have to find one again. I’m not rushing, though, and I want to give myself as long as I need to regather. Fuck knows I need to be kind to myself right now.
Learning: What is something you enjoy learning about? Off the top of my head, anything that doesn’t involve machines tbh. I can read about anything Wikipedia and encyclopedias have to offer, but I draw the line at factories and automobiles and engineering and robots and stuff lmao, it’s just not my thing.
Minimalist Interior Design: How would you design the inside of your own home? You already mentioned it; minimalist. I don’t want a lot of furniture and a lot of color in my space. I’d be happy with a minimal number of items organized in a meaningful way with some pastel shades here and there.
Miserable Weather: What is a weather-type that you like that not many others do? Thunderstorms, I guess? It’s been a hit or miss for me these days though; I’ve found myself crying more when it rains...but for the longest time I’ve enjoyed bleak and rainy weather. I’m not planning to drop it as my favorite just yet.
Morning: Are you friendly in the morning, or are you barely awake? I’m friendly at work from the start to the end of my shift because it’s the nice thing to do, and because I have to be. But I’m almost always anxious and on the brink of breaking down every morning. Since it’s WFH, no one from work has to know that.
Music: How important is music in your life? It’s slowly becoming significant again. I got a Spotify subscription for myself after years of sharing with Gab’s account lol, so I’ve been revisiting the music that I had to set aside for months while I had to grieve on my own. It was brutal the first few days and I cried a lot when I heard my go-to sad songs again, but I soon realized I need releases like that and so I’ve been a little more unafraid to listen to music each day.
Oasis: What is a band you remember liking from your childhood? Paramore? HAHAHAHA they were the first band I ever loved, man. And I’m happy I get to say I still very much love them.
Opinions: Do you ever get mad at people for not having the same opinion as you (i.e. Abortion being wrong|right, Meat-eating being wrong|right)? If it’s the kind of opinion that will step on fundamental human rights, like being vehemently against same-sex marriage, then we will have a problem. Otherwise, I don’t care if someone prefers Android or having pineapples on their pizza unless they’re being an asshole about it.
Orchids: What is your favorite type of flower? Does it grow where you live? Peonies. Idk, I guess so? I don’t speak flowers.
Outerspace: Do you think there's a possibility of life out there? There sure is; the universe is so vast. I wish we’re able to learn more in this lifetime, though; I wouldn’t want to miss out on future discoveries.
Photo-Editing: Do you edit any of your pictures? In what ways? Sometimes I’ll add a cute or flattering filter; that’s the furthest my editing skills go. I don’t use advanced applications like Photoshop and I don’t know how to remove moles or stray hairs or whatever.
Photography: If you like to take pictures, what is your motivation? I’m not into photography per se, like it’s not a hobby of mine or anything; but I do like taking photos of special or funny events. It’s nice to have a memento for a little bit of everything going on in my life.
Poland: Would you ever consider living anywhere cold? Yes. Maybe not Norway or Finland levels of cold, but somewhere considerably cooler than the humid hot mess I currently live in. When I went to Jeju four Aprils ago, they had the p e r f e c t temperature I could ever ask for and it was sooooo perfectly and comfortably cold in that I got to walk around in shorts but I never shivered or got goosebumps.
Potatoes: What is your absolute favorite food? It used to be burgers, but my mom has been making so many cheeseburgers the last few weeks that I need to take a break from them lol. Right now, my favorite would be sushi.
Questions: Do you like to ask questions, or answer them? Answer them, hence this blog.
Quirks: What are some weird things about you? Depends on what you count as weird. By far, people have been weirded out the most by the fact that I don’t eat fruits and will avoid them like the plague. I don’t mind the reactions and it’s actually turned out to be a great icebreaker, so I whip out that factoid pretty often haha.
Quizzes: When was the last time you were tested on something? I had a blood test last May because we needed to know if my fever was dengue or something else. Turned out to be a UTI.
Radiohead: Do you like any depressing bands? After Laughter is sad as shit but I wouldn’t say Paramore is generally known by this image. None of the other bands I listen to would count as ‘depressing.’
Rings: How would you describe the size of your fingers? They’re long and slender, which I love.
Satire: Do you enjoy political satire? It’s a hit or miss. I generally don’t seek it out.
Singing: Who do you know personally that has a nice singing voice? Leigh.
Skinny Jeans: Would you wear them? Or do you hate them? I wear them, but I hate them.
Smashing Pumpkins: Listen to the band, or take it literally and actually GO smash pumpkins? xD Neither.
Snakes: Would you ever wear snake-skin pants, or other animal clothing? I used to wear leather shoes because it was required for school. I avoid the practice now.
Snow: What, to you, is the best part about snow|snowy weather? You tell me, lol. I’ve never experieinced snow before.
Space: Do you like to have your own space? Are you independent? It’s definitely important to have it every now and then; I’m actually taking this survey from a Starbucks because I needed so baddddd to get out of the house. It’s the first time I’m out on my own without having to do errands since March, and it feels kinda nice.
As for being independent, I’ve been mostly a dependent person and I like having people to lean on, but my breakup has also been pushing me out of my comfort zone and to try out new things just by myself. We’ll see where this takes me in a few months.
Starry Nights: When was the last time you gazed at the night sky? Last Saturday.
Stockholm: What foreign country would you like to go to for a shopping spree? Do I really have to go to another country for this? Hahahahaha idk maybe Shanghai? The people there were dressed so well when I visited.
Studded Belts: Do you own any? What do you think of them? Nope.
Suave Shampoo: What is your favorite shampoo scent? Brand? I don’t have a preference for either. As long as it’s able to clean my hair, it’s fine.
Sunglasses: What kind do you own|wear, if any? Do you like them? I don’t really. I don’t like my vision getting tinted.
Surveys: How many surveys do you think you have taken since you've started? My old survey blog has nearly 1500 while this one has a little over 1000, then add what’s probably a few hundreds that I did in 5th grade but never saved anywhere...so maybe somewhere between 2500 to 2700 in total? Hahaha I honestly thought it would be more.
Sweden: Do you ever feel like you should have been born in another country? I think nearly everyone from the Philippines thinks this.
Swedish Fish: What is a candy you often enjoy? Gummy anything.
Tea: Do you like tea more than coffee, or the other way around? I love coffee; I’m drinking one right now :D I never enjoyed tea.
The Beatles: My brother gets mad if people say they aren't the best band ever; what about you? Then I guess I shouldn’t be talking to him.
Theories: What do you think will happen to you after you die? Sleep.
Thom Yorke: If you met your favorite musician, what would you ask him|her? If we were in a Covid-free society, all I’d ask for is a hug, really. I wouldn’t have anything to ask them.
Thought: What do you spend most of your day thinking about? I’m still grieving about the stuff I’ve already covered.
Thought-Provoking Conversation: What do you consider deep? This would be a little hard to verbalize and I don’t really feel like describing rn. I guess you can say this question in itself is deep, ha.
Tokyo: Where is a busy place you would like to go to? Aw man what an innocent question. I wish I could show this survey-maker what a trainwreck 2020 has been and how ‘busy places’ virtually don’t exist anymore, at least for now.
Unpretentious Gestures: If someone pays you a compliment, do you take it to heart, or do you pass it off as just flattery? I take it to heart, but I’m not always able to receive it well.
Video Games: Do you think they cause people to become violent? No. I spent my childhood going on killing rampages on GTA and I’m still unlikely to resort to violence.
Vocabulary: What was the last word you learned? The term ‘low latency.’
Warsaw: What is a funny fact about your heritage? Good question, but I can’t think of any at the moment. I don’t really think ‘funny’ when I look for facts to absorb but now I want to look this up haha.
Web Design: Have you or could you build your own site? My principal requirement for my Online Journalism class was to make my own website/blog, actually. But Covid blew up and we ended up having to cancel the entire semester altogether, so my classmates and I never got to pursue more of that class other than our first few meetings, which were used for lectures.
Winter: How long|cold are winters in your area? It does not even exist.
Words: How many pages of words do you think you type a day? Maybe like 5 or 6. It’s a WFH set-up, so I’m exclusively on the laptop typing away the entire week.
Writing: Do you try to avoid it, or do you embrace it? I embrace it as long as I don’t have to write fiction or prose. I like writing, but only through journals and surveys.

okay y’all I’ve been sitting on this one for a bit but it’s time to get back into Sapphire & Steel audios. This time I’m reviewing 2.01, The School.
Okay so initial thoughts I was kind of excited to see Steel having to deal with kids again since he has a record of being terrible with them and that can be funny. Unfortunately that didn’t really happen.
Most of this story I spent going “what the fuck?” and “oh yikes” because there was A LOT of like “you’re fifteen, why are you so horny?!” except they weren’t all 15 and that was part of the problem.
It felt like a weird sex pollen kind of trope thing happening most of the time which was so gross. Like we got dubious consent, old dudes lusting after people/kids, body shaming (really just person shaming kinda? like the one woman was so mad that Sapphire just like existed idek), The whole thing was fucked up.
Things I did like:
The teeny bit of lore/world building we got that the (I need a collective name for them, if there is one lmk b/c idk what to call them. They’re obvs not humans but idk if they’re aliens either technically), elements/metals/gemstones have to concentrate at least somewhat in order to maintain telepathy. I’m still not sure whether it’s an automatic connection tho, which would be interesting to know. Like can they pop into each others heads any time or only if the person allows an open channel? Like Steel was broadcasting words out to Sapph but I couldn’t tell if he was doing that actively or if she was just picking up on what he was doing without his knowledge, or if the weird school atmosphere was affecting that as well and just allowing them to share the experience.
Speaking of that bit, Steel having to do an art class was v good. Wish it had been about perspective instead of shading tho. That was always the most confusing for me. I still can’t do the multi-point ones very well.
Shippy bits:
“He’s a funny one”/”He’s often hilarious” like I know this is b/c Steel has absolutely no sense of humor but like what if he is actually funny in his own way but just with Sapph and she gets it and that’s real cute tbh
Steel going OFF on the guy for taking advantage of Sapphire. Like I know she was technically consenting but you could tell it was absolutely outside her normal senses of control and judgment and like something was wrong, I think Steel made a good call. I have a real soft spot for Steel coming to Sapph’s rescue, but not in a gross ‘nice guy’ way obvs. She can handle her shit usually, but it’s good that he is there for her when she needs help.
“I don’t know why I’m surprised, ever since that thing with Jet” WHAT THING WITH JET?? I’m counting this in shippy b/c Sapph was definitely teasing him and they were talking about the guy spying on the locker room so there was definitely the undertones of something like perverse/naughty/sexy/whatever. Steel absolutely did not want to talk about it tho. My money is on like he accidentally saw Jet in some state of undress (not sure how that works since it’s like timey wimey magic but maybe it’s different for them) and Jet found it hilarious (and teasingly sent her regards by Lead in the first tv ep) and Sapph found out and also finds it funny/teases Steel about it. This would also explain why in ep 5 of the tv show he went in the other room to magic change clothes even tho like Sapph does it all the time just wherever she wants to and it’s not a big deal. Makes sense he’d be like embarrassed about it and trying to be extra careful not to overstep a boundary around Sapph since he actually likes her. I think appearing nude/partially nude would have to be intentional so that implies Jet did it on purpose to embarrass Steel which is kinda mean, unless that was her flirting but even then. IDEK. This is where I’m like ?? about it, #aceproblems or whatever. Like I get u Steel, I would also be confused and embarrassed and like “omg Jet please put some clothes on what are u doing, I thought we were gonna watch netflix” 😂SO yeah
“Steel, I’ve got you”/ “Thank you” and they laughed! and she called him lame! aaaaaaaaa
This was like the most confusing of the audios so far. It felt like a lot was going on, but they didn’t give enough info so it was hard to figure out exactly what was happening. In that respect it was a little reminiscent of the first eps of the tv show in that I was just saying “wait what?” to myself over and over but it wasn’t as satisfying and felt more all over the place. For the first ep of s2, it seems like they were trying too hard and not really getting anywhere.
Summary: Funny in some parts but too chaotic and drawn out on the reveal imo, 6/10
#I had this like a week ago but forgot to post it b/c holiday stuff#Started 2x02 last night but only like 5 mins and was laughing too hard for usual before bedtime listening#that's a good sign tho maybe it will be a good ep. stay tuned for the next review on that#S+S
