Stephanie is holding her breath. Nobody calls her that anymore- Steph, Stephanie, Stephie. Nobody calls her much of anything these days.

The water is so cold that she can’t tell where her skin ends and it begins. Stephanie Harrington holds her breath and remembers when this numbness was pleasant.

She breaks the surface with a violent gasp, trying desperately not to choke on chlorinated pool water. From below, the sky had looked like a Picasso watercolor; the unimpressed gaze of La Celestine bearing down on her with one blind eye.

Now it only looks like a sky. Same stars, same unfathomable blackness surrounding them. Stevie doesn’t know much about that sky, but neither does Stephanie. Like they are two separate people, because who knows? They might be.

She gets out of the pool, shivering, and makes her way inside. She drips pool water on the carpet, and doesn’t quite smile. A year ago, maybe, that would’ve made her laugh- getting pool water on her mother’s expensive Persian rug. Now it just makes her step to the side, onto the hardwood. She shivers all the way upstairs to her bedroom because she forgot to bring a towel, but, hey, at least cold is some sort of feeling. She strips out of her underwear and falls, naked, into the nest of blankets and pillows that comprises her bed.

She forgets to turn the light off, but she falls asleep anyway. In the morning, she will forget to turn the light off again.

Billie is being a huge bitch today, but this is normal, so Stevie tries to ignore it. It isn’t easy. Nothing ever gets to be easy. Her dad told her, once: “Sweetie, anything worth having is difficult to earn”.

She had thought of her mother, then, and how she filled her days with household crafting projects and social lunches. Wondered what difficult things she’d had to do, what she’d had to give up to earn her peace of mind. Maybe, she thinks, this is the difficult thing.

Billie slams her hand down on the locker next to Stevie’s face, rattling the metal and making her jump. Swears she almost swallowed her tongue.

“Hey, slut!” Billie’s voice is pleasantly raspy, grates against her in an awkward way. Stevie rolls her eyes so hard she honestly might’ve strained something.

“Really? ‘Cause last week you were calling me the Virgin Queen.” Billie is grinning, all teeth, when Stevie closes her locker and turns to face her. She’s cute, Billie, disarmingly so. She’s strong, biceps flexing as she leans further into Stevie’s space using the locker as leverage. Her lips are very, very pink, and Stevie dies inside a little bit at how that thought makes her sweat.

“So?”

“So… I can’t be both, Hargrove.” The looming threat of another eye roll strain is definitely the thing that makes her turn away, and not at all the boiling pit of whatever inside of her that makes her think about things she shouldn’t.

“Awwww, I’m flattered, honey! I didn’t know you were paying such close attention.” Billie has caught up to her, boots thudding against the linoleum. Walks just behind and to her left, and Stevie hates it because she’s always on edge now, and she can feel the buzzing panic rising in her chest like an alien will burst out of it any second now, and then Billie will have to save them all from the ensuing invasion and everyone will be screwed. But she’d be dead, at least- only that thought isn’t as calming as it used to be.

“Yeah,” she throws back in the most deadpan tone she can manage, “I keep a pink glittery notebook of all your shitty insults right next to my bed. Dear Diary, today Billie called me a slut and I fucking swooned.”

The laugh surprises her, not because it’s loud (even though it is), but because it's… genuine. Or, at least, it’s not mean. And that’s just… that’s new.

Suddenly, there is an arm around her shoulder, and she can feel Billie’s heat seeping into her and her chest carelessly bumping against her arm as they walk. “You wanna cut class, Princess?”

And, fuck it, she really kind of does.

• I’ve always been super into crime stories/true crime (where my anxiety comes from, I’m always worried about a pesky serial killer just killing me. It’s usually being kidnapped tho lmao) so I knew and still know like all these murder facts and sometimes I’d just randomly be like;

“Hey did you know it takes 12 hours and 2 days to dissolve a body in acid?”

or

“If you bury a dead deer over a dead body you buried deep in the ground, when police dogs sniff it and people dig they’ll just think it was the deer and won’t dig any farther.”

• So maybe people had a reason to be scared of me and think I’ll be a criminal someday, i dunno.

• I love love love reading and writing, and also debating. The things I’ve wanted to be when I grow up are basically: Dog shelter worker, actress, FBI agent, politician, and a writer. But usually I just want to do something that makes a positive impact on people. Like i wanted to be an FBI agent to solve crimes for people. I wanted to be a politican so I could actually help a lot of people. The entertainment industry also seemed like a way to make people happy. Idk, but then I decided I couldn’t be a politican at 10 because they were all corrupt and to be one I would have to be too. 😫🤌🏻 we love some good childhood angst

• the only subjects I’ve ever excelled at are ELA and Social Studies aka History, and Math I can’t do to save my life. ELA comes easy for me and I usually don’t have to work that hard and/or get too stressed over it. But I always get the meanest teachers for some reason. For example, one time I did my final essay for like 30% of my grade in 30 minutes the day it was due and I got an A+ 🦟🦗🦟🦗

• Uhhh id describe myself as a pretty loyal friend, I’m a ride or die type of girl. A story from my childhood that summarizes it pretty well is when I was in 2nd grade my friend wet her pants and she didn’t want to go to the nurse for it alone so I peed my pants so I could go with her and she wouldn’t have to be alone. Like, you know, a professional problem solver

• and I have genuinely attacked people for fucking with my friends but don’t snitch pls 🕳🏃‍♀️💨

• But also just anyone, people at my school tend to come to me with their problems for me to either help solve them by reasoning, or just to confront the other person like the bad bleep I am 😈😈

• I also have a huge daydreaming problem, it’s literally maladaptive daydreaming. So paired with my ADHD I don’t get shit done like ever.

• I have really high empathy levels I guess, like I always say hi to everyone I see on the street, especially if they look sad 😔 I’ve done it ever since I was a little kiddo.

• My fashion sense is very much a preppy/alt style. I wear those ripped tights and fishnets, I also have the MOST BIZARRE JEWELRY- like who allowed me to buy the gummy worm glittery earrings, hmmm???????? and those Mary Janes???????

• But I love crew necks and pleated skirts so I always obide by the National “hoes dont get cold” policy 🇺🇸😫🦅

It’s shoulder length :) I have bleach blonde streaks in the front. I like wearing eyeliner most days, too. I’m pretty average size/ on the skinnier side. Kinda high key inscure abt my body bc I got flat shamed in elementary EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TIDDIES NOW- whatever 😤🙄. I also have crystal type blue eyes, and I do have fairly big eyes. But, like, not weirdly big. A good big. My cheekbones are ALWAYS PRESENT so sometimes I get called a Tim Burton character but it’s cool ig ☠️☠️ oh and I’m kinda short. I’m 5’3, even though my doctor said I’d be 5’7. I feel like I was either tricked by the doctor or someone just stole my destined height while I was asleep. Some examples are The Roman Empire, Julius Caesar himself, Anne Frank, The Titanic, the Black Plauge, Helen Keller, Marie Curie, Slavery in the US, Joan of Arc, and just a lot more. I always love talking about these things if someone would let me ramble to them but no one ever does 😖 it also got to a point where for all these subjects I’d go to the library and try to find a book on them but usually I’d either have already read it or I’d read it and know all the information.

• I’m super into Greek Mythology, I have 7 books filled with the stories, I’m going to Greece maybe this summer to see it’s history, and named my hamster Aphrodite but we call her Aphie. I also will talk about this forever and ever if you let me.

• My favorite color is yellow, my favorite food is literally nothing I never have an appetite, my favorite planet is Saturn, favorite song is Tag Your It by Melanie Martinez atm but it changes like everyday.

• Music is a huge safe-space for me if I’m feeling down or having a panic attack. It calms me down n is overall my coping mechanism 💃🏻💃🏻

• Biggest fear is spiders, even looking at one gives me a panic attack and I cannot sleep at all for that night, adding to my insomniac ass 🧎🏻‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

• I’m mature for my age, I don’t exactly like hanging around kids my age and I get along better with older crowds.

Watched the first part of Stranger Things S4! My thoughts:

I have no idea why but something about this show..... I can never remember anyone's fucking name. Every time I watch a new season it's like "Which one is Mike again? Who's that kids older brother? Who is this?"

I really straight up forget that this is a horror themed show! Every time I think about it I imagine it as a Sci-Fi Action type show and then I watch a new season and go Holy Fucking Shit That's Terrifying. Why did they crack that girl apart like that.

Small mistake in Mandy nearly falling over, but I mostly want to compliment the slide her boots did against the mat lmao. That was probably unintended, but looked super smooth.

I actually like Mandy now that she’s not imitating a stripper, but I’d really appreciate it if she could learn new trash talk that isn’t just, “who do you think you are,” repeated ad nauseam.

I don’t watch Main Event, but they should consider having Mandy and Dana wrestle more on there if they don’t already. Those are 2 that can use the consistent practice.

There’s so many minor things Natalya does to keep matches together with greener women. She deserves more respect.

Man these women work incredibly well together. Asuka, Nattie, Dana, Lana, Mandy... so cohesive. Loved that entire ending sequence from the moment Lana and Asuka tagged in. Lana has really increased her speed as well.

I am here to dole out positive praise for the blondes that nobody gives any credit to. Remembering where Dana was in 2016, Lana was in 2017, or even Mandy was in 2018, and seeing them all now? They get my applause. The midcard on Raw is entertaining, sue me. Fun match.

Sonya Deville was one, whom I believe Becky was right on the money with, and Toni Storm was the other. Now I don’t see whatever the hell Becky sees in Toni, but damn it if she was right about Sonya, I want her to be right about Toni as well. So I hope this heel turn actually brings the fire, decent acting, and passable promos from her.

Toni has a swagger you can’t teach; she has an aura and confidence to her. There are just some pieces that have been missing. We’ll see though, I’ll give her a clean slate to win me over.

Andrew I am quite indifferent about because in every game we are in together I think things are good between us then confessionals come out and he ALWAYS mentions that he can't trust me so I really don't want to continue on that cycle. Also I have noticed that Andrew rarely does bad in survivor, and there is definitely a method that I need to try and ruin. On this current tribe I am with Steffen. My previous game with him was Hawaii and we all know how that went. I still don't exactly know how this game is going to go. I am leaning more toward not working with him and I don't want him to take it personally. There are just other people here that I have more of a desire to work with that I haven't gotten the chance to actually work with in the past. Speaking of which, me and Billy seem to have reconciled and I think we are both in a civil place with each other and things may work out better here between us. TAR with Jay was pretty good, I like Jay, and I know he close with Mitch whom I worked well with in Hawaii. So them two are an obvious pair for me to work with right now and I am liking it so far. My absolute favorite in this game at this point is Dan. I like talking to him, we both wanna work together, and I think it could be really great. Currently I would say David is my closest ally in this game. That vote where I almost went home instead of Katie I am a bit suspicious of who one of the votes for me were and I heard from someone that David had told them that Katie should have stayed. I don't EXACTLY know what that means but I am being cautious of that. He hasn't yet showed me any real reason to not trust him, but if he wants to do something or work with someone that I don't agree with then I may not feel as bad cutting him. One reason why I am trusting him is so far we are thinking the same. We both think it is currently a good idea to work with Jay and Mitch but to watch out for them because they have a clear bond to each other and with Drew that will be difficult to get between. Hopefully he isn't just using that against me because that would be sad. So here's to hoping that he is legit about all this! The next issue that comes to mind is Sam G. We never explicitly say what we are gonna do when we are in a game together. We never actively work together and we never actively work against each other at this point. We see where the game takes us and go from there. I just don't want anyone to peg us two as a threat for working together. That would be annoying. I really just never know how to approach things with her in terms of working together so only time will tell how this game goes.

I’m so fucking upset that I’m separated from Ash like you have no idea man we just solidified that we were gonna be loyal af to each other no matter what and now this happens ANYWAY, our trust clusterfuck was separated too. I have Steffen and Billy still, which is nice. I hope that the three of us will stick together. Mitch told me that Stevie and Jay are a group that’s working on getting majority right now and he’d like to join that group with me. I didn’t say I wouldn’t but I said I wanna keep Steffen in the loop and he seems like he’s good with it. Of course I wanna keep Billy in too but don’t wanna give away too much with all these people on this tribe yikes Jay told me that he heard the vote is gonna be Sam which is A-OK WITH ME. Never got to vote her out of Niue so going for it this time sounds great. My only concern is that Sam and Billy seem close so idk if Billy would really want to go for it. I mean as long as majority falls onto Sam then it’s all good but who knows. I talked with Steffen and we’re gonna try to figure out where everyone is at then give each other info in a couple hours. WHEW I gotta pack and get on the road soon so idk if I’ll have an update confessional but if I do then it’ll most likely be a panicked one like normal. At least this time it’ll be in the comfort of my home rather than my dorm room Also RIP me accidentally calling my All-Start chat while trying to get the confessional link 

So I'm voting for Sam. Which is terrible because I love her so much but she hasn't really been around. I also am getting super close to Stevie because I'm pretty sure him and I are the same person. He told me that he would have me, Jay, Sara, and Mitch's votes to get Sam out and I even asked Van who they were voting for and they said Sam. There's really nothing I can do to save her because I can't find that damn idol to save my life. It is what it is though :/

So it looks like people are targeting Ashley, praise God!!!! Ashley is targeting Punpun which is,, whatever. So far there's at least 4 votes down for Ashley, including me, Jordan has said yes to everyone so idk what he's up to, I might check with him again later, Charlotte Chrissa idk what either of them are up to but hopefully I could get one or both of them on board? And Ash is a possibility too because Ashley is lying to her, telling her to vote Karen, so maybe if I expose Ashley we can get Ash on board. If this all fails, knowing Karen she probably has an idol so that can be our safety net. 

Conf #15: Im Screaming? I came up with Gabriels name tonight to Stevie, Stevie told Billy, AND THEN BILLY CAME TO ME AND ASKED IF I WOULD JOIN HIM IN THE VOTE. AS IF I DIDNT SAY THAT NAME!!! If only he knew that Stevie and I are good. Oh also Stevie still doesnt know I vote him oops
