Jing Yuan the... Lion
✧ jing yuan x gn!reader
✧ based on the ask: how would the characters react when jing yuan somehow magically transforms into a lion (like mimi) for a day? x reader is ok!! - requested by @/ephemeralyae
✧ contents: humor, established relationship, fluff, mentions of other characters
✧ a/n: i've noticed a certain pattern with my writing sideblogs, and that is the fact that i'll always get this sort of request HAHA. And in line with similar patterns, this will be the first post written in a headcanon format! i went the x reader route with just a hint on how characters would react (not that big of a reaction, moreso what they have to do in this situation) so i hope it was okay!
not beta-read again lmfao.
✧ He is as confused as everyone else with this situation. One moment he's sitting idly by his office, writing on his desk and the next moment he's left staring dumbfoundedly at a gigantic paw quite similar to the paws he squishes quite frequently back at home.
✧ Is the quick rundown you're given when you arrive at the Seat of Divine Foresight along with Fu Xuan and Yukong - having been frequently spammed with incoherent messages from Qingzu in the span of a few minutes.
✧ And although this very much is a serious situation - nevermind the mystery that the Divine Foresight is always absent from his usual seat, if he actually stays in this lion form for more than a day everything onboard the luofu will be behind schedule and he will for real be absent from the Seat of Divine Foresight because he's going to be taken in by the alchemy comission to figure out how to turn him back.
✧ And yet, as everyone is scrambling around trying to figure out a solution to turn him back and a reason to why he specifically was turned only - you're just left staring straight back at the lion with soft white hair and golden eyes who seem all to relaxed when staring back at you.
✧ Heck the tail is even comfortably swaying back and forth - even though he's well aware of the chaos he's caused.
✧ "... You know everyone in this room is in a disarray because of you, right?" a small roar that oddly sounded like his usual laugh, "... Yukong have to be able to discreetly send a message to the other flagships without even alerting anyone else in the Palace of Astrum, you are aware of that, correct?" you swear you saw the lion nodding his head.
✧ "... Master diviner Fu Xuan is going to have a lot more on her plate with this added problem, you agree to that right?" you ask once more, the lion only gave you a closed eyed smile.
✧ "Yanqing will be disappointed when you're not going to spar with him today, you've already avoided it for the past 2 weeks and you promised him today," the lion merely turns his head around, promptly ignoring you with a side glance of mischief.
✧ How can he be a scoundrel even when turned into a lion.
✧ "... Mimi would probably attack you the moment she spots you," you settle on saying. And somehow that information alone was enough for the once relaxed state of the lion to be in distress. Jing Yuan's once laid down form springing back into all fours - the sudden action making Qingzu who were still sorting out documents yelp.
✧ "... You know you could've tried saying you would leave him to see if he would react," Fu Xuan comments as the lion before the two of you makes his way over, "I think he would die on the spot if I said that, now how do we get him to-" you're unable to finish your answer back to the master diviner when you're suddenly pounced on by Jing Yuan.
✧ And as anyone would've expected, the much heavier weight makes you topple down to the floor with a loud bang.
✧ "... Did he already gain some feline traits?"
✧ You're unable to answer the question, desperately slamming your fist down on the lions mane before you're able to wriggle your head away from the amount of fur in your face, "Jing Yuan-" you wheeze, "I'm barely able to carry you while you're human, what made you think I can carry you when you weigh close to 200 kilograms?!"
✧ The lion seemed to not care, merely nuzzling his nose against your hair while making no move to actually get off of you.
✧ "... You know what, let's just call the healers down here and leave him here for the day. I have other business to attend to and Yanqing is already blowing up my phone asking where this idiot is," you say, tapping the lion on top of you on the nose before letting your hands tousle the mane, blinking in surprise at how oddly soft it was.
✧ "... On second thought I'll stay here until the healers come," you rephrase, continuing to run your hands through the mane, Jing Yuan seeming to purr in content at the excessive rubbing.
✧ So this is why Mimi is so content whenever you would excessively rub her everywhere.

Hi! Hope you're having a good day/night! I'd like to ask for HCs (or whatever format you're cool with!) for Casimir, maybe something just like how he would spend the day with MC when they're not working on the House?
Romantic is fine! I hope that's not too vague of a request! Thanks! :)
A/N - Hey, I’m so sorry for the wait I finished this weeks ago but forgot about it I’m sorry ;-; hope you enjoy! (Also thank you really much for being my first Tumblr request)
(I’ll fix the format of this post when I have my laptop later today)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fandom: Fictif, Monster Manor
Format: headcanons
Type: Fluff, a bit comedy
Warnings: none I can think of
Summary: spending time with Casimir
Relationship: Casimir x Reader (Written as romantic but save for like one all work platonically)
Characters featured: Casimir, briefly Mimi and the house, Rainier mentioned
Note: maybe OOC, some of these are kind of far fetched (Also I didn't read any of the paid scenes so I’m sorry if I got something canon wrong)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Renovating is pretty exhausting so of course a lot of work means a lot of rest. There's many ways to do so such as sitting down with some tea and snacks, reading together or to each other, cuddling or watching movies; either way you spend this time together quite often
speaking of movies, movie and show nights! At first at least there might be more of Casimir nerding over the technology than watching though /hj. Someone just please show this man the Beauty and the Beast. Or Transformers. First one is self explanatory, second one I just think would be funny. Also maybe Howls moving castle. That might be super far fetched but I think he'd like studio Ghibli.
Bonding with Mimi! Casimir really wants to gain back her trust and having you be there calms him Mimi. Though it's better than it used to be already there's still some tension between them and you're definitely helping. You also get to spend time with both of them so that's definitely a win!
You cannot convince me this man doesn't go into hour long rants and rambles about his interests after you asked one simple question. He can get pretty lost in it once he started and tends to get a little embarrassed about it once he realises. Cmon, he was all by himself for multiple centuries, he's not used to people being around. You encouraging him to go on, asking questions or referencing things he told you later on means a lot to him.
Of course it goes both ways, he absolutely loves listening to you talk, especially about things you're passionate about and will try to bring it up again later or engage in your hobbies with you together. He genuinely wants to know about you and your interests, for one he hasn't really heard from/about anyone else for a very long time (not counting cats and buildings) and also you're, of course he wants to hear everything you have to say
Okay okay okay this one's my personal favourite: hide and seek. I actually might write a whole own thing about that at some point soon because it'd just be so much fun! The house is quite big with super many hiding spaces. Now it's not something he'd suggest and yeah it might take some force persuasion to convince him but if you ask him really really nicely hell probably say yes, or just annoy him till he agrees (even more effective if Rainier joins). Alternatively just hide somewhere so he has no choice but to search (you definitely gave him a heart attack the first time you did that)
Casimir is old fashioned (I mean- how wouldn't he be) so your regular date nights are pretty classic. Usually it's a romantic dinner (brought to you by The House TM), sometimes it's dancing (like that one paid scene(? Is there one? Or am I mixing something up? Idk); he was taught to be a gentleman and he's gonna use that /hj
Bringing him modern things from shopping trips. It started off by you bringing him something he was curious about after you mentioned it and quickly developed into a habit of you bringing him trinkets whenever you're out. His curiosity makes you much more aware of how interesting even little thins can be and soon turned to you coming back from trips out the house with a bag of things like toys, gadgets and other fun things from the dollar store or similar. You then spend the day looking at what you brought, how it works and so on. Imagine spending the day with Casimir trying out a bunch of toys you bought or found with your old stuff (the type for children, don't think wrong here)
adding onto this because I love the idea of doing fun childish things with him (you'd have to be the one to initiate them though, potentially ‘force’ him, but he secretly enjoys it). Silly sleepovers with pillow forts, movies, teeny magazines (I want to just hand this guy a stack of these teen magazines and see what happens so bad), and snacks!
related a bit to the one above but spa days! He definitely needs some more self care. I do kinda think he likes stuff as skincare and and used to have a routine (nobility and stuff) he likely had to cut short or even drop it completely with the house's hostility. But now you're there and not only are there so many products your world has for this, it's also much more fun together, leading to entire days planned only for spa and wellness activities (like doing each other's nails, I have a little theory connected to Casimir and acrylic nails but that's all I'm saying on that)
I feel like I have to say something to end this smoothly sooo Casimir supremacy!!
(Requests open)

how abt ochunks and/or mimi for the character meme? :0
Let's do Mimi!
Favorite thing about them: I love the way she talks, heh. She's either really cheerful or just super pissed. Plus any character who says things like "well golly, that's just super." and "DOOFUSES" is an instant favorite of mine
Least favorite thing about them: Her fucken spider transformation scene gave me nightmares when I was younger. But I think it's pretty cool now, so I'm not sure that counts anymore, lol.
Favorite line: "You DUMMIES! The only reason I'm even HERE is to get in the way!" Like... same
BrOTP: Mimi and Mr.L! I've said it once and I'll say it again, they're the annoying younger siblings of the Bleck family. You can't tell me they didn't get into all sorts of shenanigans at Castle Bleck during the heroes' adventure.
OTP: Mimistasia!!!!!! I fuckinf love them, they've got an adorable dynamic
NOTP: Dimimi. I definitely don't hate it, but it just doesn't really sit with me.
Also they're both gay but you didn't hear that from me
Random headcanon: She'll use her shape-shifting ability to pull pranks on the other minions and just be a general nuisance whenever she feels like it. Occasionally, Mr.L and/or Dimentio will join in on her pranks, and the results are always hilarious.
Unpopular Opinion: Honestly, nothing really comes to mind. I don't really have any opinions that I haven't already seen.
Song I associate with them: hmmm... I don't actually listen to music very often, so I can't really think of anything... sorry!
Favorite picture of them: Sadly, there aren't many official pictures of any of the spm crew, but I guess I'd say this one! She looks so cute in this outfit <3
#skye's ramblings#ask the cloud#i actually probably have more headcanons for mimi than anyone else#i REALLY wanted to do O'Chunks too because i love him SO MUCH#but i could only fill in like... half of the spaces.#sorry O'Chunks... luv u#cisphobicfives

Casimir with a Talkative MC
Fandom: Monster Manor
Characters: Casimir
Warnings: None!
Requested by: Anonymous
Prompt: I'm so excited to see you taking monster mansion asks hardly anyone seems to be paying it any attention! Could you do headcanons on how Casimir would reactor to an MC who will just chatter away, sometimes to him but mostly to themselves with really obscure/unusual topics?
Comments: Of course! I love this so much! I just randomly started thinking about this earlier today, so I thought it would be a good one to kickstart my new attempt at formatting! What do you guys think? Better than just answering asks??
I think Casimir is an ambivert, maybe bordering a little on extrovert. He's perfectly fine on his own, and he enjoys spending time alone for his hobbies because it's peaceful. But, given the option, I think he'd prefer to be around people. Specifically, around you.
He's been alone for a long time, so at first I imagine he'll get overwhelmed by it super easily. It's weird, having someone else around that can actually speak (and doesn't hide from him like Mimi does), and he doesn't know what to do with it. At all.
At first, you talking to yourself confuses him. Not because he's never done it-- he mumbles to himself all the time, when he's not yelling at the house or attempting to talk to Mimi. He's so unused to another person speaking in his presence that he automatically assumes you're talking to him, because well, that's what people do, right? The problem is, usually it makes little sense, because he doesn't understand half the words you're saying.
It doesn't bother him much, but as I said, it can get overwhelming. If he's already a bit frustrated, or you're talking really fast or loud, he'll often just quietly leave and go somewhere more peaceful. Don't take it personally-- he's lived in near-silence for hundreds of years.
After a week or two of living with you, he'll begin to get more used to your presence, and he no longer feels uneasy or agitated by your chattiness-- instead, he's found that he loves it. You're so cute like this, talking about the things you enjoy, and he finds himself wondering how it ever bothered him in the first place.
If you're just talking to yourself, he mostly lets you be, quietly listening to you talk. It's rather soothing, really, and he loves the sound of your voice. Even if he doesn't understand what you're talking about, he's perfectly content to just enjoy your company.
That said... please talk to him. He'll absolutely love talking about your interests with you! He gives you his full attention (you'll often have to gently remind him to actually work on the room because he's entirely forgotten about the task at hand.) He'll ask a lot of questions, and it's a perfect opportunity for you to delve really deep into the topic at hand, explaining all of the concepts and vocabulary he doesn't understand.
Depending on what it is you like, if you can bring him physical examples of it, he'll be absolutely over the moon. Hope the house doesn't mind you getting nothing done today, because all of your time will be spent showing it to him.
He's also a man of rather obscure interests, and he jumps at the chance to share them with you. He'll ramble for hours on end about his passions, and the way his eyes light up is the most adorable thing in the world.
It'll be a really good thing for the both of you! You're super enthusiastic about each other's passions, and you have long, in-depth conversations about the most random of topics. Small talk doesn't exist in this house. The only bad thing about it is that you're constantly at risk of losing sleep because you accidentally stayed up talking until dawn. Oops?
Seriously though, he'll love it. He probably has a bunch of journals that he writes in from time to time, and he has an entire section of books dedicated to you. He writes down whatever he remembers from your infodumping at the end of the day in the journal for that topic. He wants to learn about what you like, so he takes notes, and occasionally he reviews them to refresh his memory.

Feeling really touch-starved so... how do you think Koushiro is at hugs?
I actually wanted to answer this with another comic, but since I've been having a heavy tooth/headache all week, I think I'll still need some time to recover, haha. Still, I wanted to answer this regardless...
I may be generally biased when it comes to Koushirou and certain (head-)canons, especially because some things really are more headcanons than anything else (which I may or may not have discussed a million times already, haha).
Overall, I think young!Koushirou may not be too comfortable with (close) physical touch/affections - at least up until the point of him having his reconciliation with his parents. Because, in the novels at least, it becomes pretty apparent that he doesn't think highly of himself before that (and thus, probably, also doesn't consider himself to be someone "lovable" either). Also, it completely and utterly depends on WHO is touching him and whom he touches in return. Throughout Adventure 01, we at least see him being quite affectionate with Motimon at times, which shouldn't be too surprising, since he's the one closest to him and the one who is, arc wise, helping him to open up. So him hugging Tentomon to say goodbye is already a great indicator of how things will develop in the future...
Then, of course, there is his future boyfriend best friend. The person who invited him to camp. The person he often runs towards to, stays by his side for huge chunks of time. The person he doesn't seem to display discomfort with when it comes to invading each other's personal space closeness. Again, early on, Taichi is kind of a knucklehead and it's obvious Koushirou at least doesn't want him (or anyone else for that matter) to get close to his technology... But he absolutely doesn't mind him grabbing his hand, putting a hand on his shoulder, close gazes, etc. and that is a constant throughout 01 and 02.
I noticed that this is getting out of hand already, so I’ll try to keep the rest rather short: Koushirou strikes me as someone who has to learn to initiate affections first. But once he has let someone get (emotionally) closer to himself, it'll become easier, especially after he has grown accustomed to them being physical towards him.
Mimi may be a difficult case here, because his ~edgy teenage phase~ showed him to be uncomfortable with her being close to him. But luckily, this didn't seem to last long either - and it's also one of the many reasons why I love Stageplay!Koushirou so much! The story plays in the middle of Tri - and while he obviously isn't a big "toucher" himself (and usually rather gets touched by others), he still appears to be much better and more comfortable at initiating touch already. ESPECIALLY with Taichi (see evidence 1, 2 and 3); whether it's a comforting touch on the shoulder/arm or a passionate grabbing, which definitely indicates that, if he deems it necessary, he will go for the touch. Overall, like with all kinds of contact, I think that hugging (and also kissing for that matter!) is something he WILL initiate in especially sappy or critically emotional moments. (Speaking of "deems it necessary": Spoiler: In the stageplay, he's grabbing Mimi's wrist to check on her watch, because he wants to confirm something, thus it's literally a "heat of the moment moment" and it's just nice to see that he's so comfortable in her presence here in general!).
Long story short: Koushirou initiating hugs will (almost always) surprise the other party (see this incredibly endearing art in the fourth panel, okay???).
(The comic I was talking about will be about my AU again - because one of my Koushirou plot points will actually be that he WANTS to initiate a "reassuring" touch towards Taichi when it's NOT a "in the heat of the moment moment". But he simply isn't very good at it at the beginning. First, he starts with "a hand on his arm". And when he sees Taichi completely distressed because of something [no spoilers yet], he wants to reach out to him for another "touch", but can't... Until Taichi subconsciously leans against him while being very emotional and then Koushirou simply can't hold it back anymore and puts both arms around him... I'M SORRY, I JUST NEED THAT KIND OF SAPPINESS IN MY LIFE AND I WILL DRAW IT EVENTUALLY, I PROMISE.)

( PART 1: DA + ASTROLOGY )
PART 2: DIGIMON ADVENTURE + MBTI
Taichi - ESTP Yamato - INFP Sora - ENFJ Koushirou - INTJ Mimi - ESFP Jou - ISTJ Takeru - ENFP Hikari - ISFP Daisuke - ESFP Miyako - ENFP Iori - ISTJ Ken - INFJ
Discussion and Commentary below!
If you’ve read some of my previous headcanons about the MBTI, and in particular this very popular post from four (!) years ago, you may find I’ve changed my mind a lot.
An important thing about this typology (or any other one, really) is that it’s quite easy to just look into some websites and make decisions based on the keywords used to describe each type. Which is what I used to do. Keywords are helpful to help us get the “basic picture” (hence why I quote them in this post), but now I believe that you have to read actual theory in order to understand the subtle differences between each type and make more educated guesses.
Since then, I’ve been reading more deeply into MBTI and the Functions. Consequently, the way I understand the MBTI has changed significantly, and so have my Headcanons.
It’s been particularly interesting to learn about the Inferior Function, or the “dark side” of each personality type. The more I read about it, it became surprising that how it seemed to describe most of the adventure kids’ characters arcs incredibly well. This is another reason why the combination Chosen Children + MBTI is such a fascinating and fun thought exercise!
It should be noted that different authors can have widely different interpretations of types, which is why, for the sake of simplicity and coherence, I’ve only read 3-4 main sources when preparing this post. And I tried stay away from popular MBTI websites and resources that exist around the internet, most which can have a slightly misleading/superficial vision of each type.
However, this doesn’t mean my HCs are “RIGHT” or that other people can’t have better ideas. I’m as biased about the characters as anyone else. I’d be very happy to hear alternative takes!
***
Taichi - ESTP Dominant function: Se
Flexible and tolerant, they take a pragmatic approach focused on immediate results. Theories and conceptual explanations bore them - they want to act energetically to solve the problem. Focus on the here-and-now, spontaneous, enjoy each moment that they can be active with others. Enjoy material comforts and style. Learn best through doing.
Taichi is pretty easy to type, and most ESTP descriptions fit him nicely. Thompson notes the archetype of ESTP is James Bond and Xena the Warrior Princess; I think the character of Taichi, who represents Courage, fits in the same tradition — a bold, impulsive, adventurous leader who is good at strategizing and is able to make though decisions, but is is also very charismatic and charming. Taichi’s tendency to become thoughtful, introspective, and indecisive under stress can be explained by the inferior function, Ni.
Yamato - INFP Dominant function: Fi
Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want an external life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened.
By contrast, Yamato is always the most difficult to type! I ended up using INFP rather than INFJ, because I think it makes more sense for his dominant function to be Fi (introverted feeling): “Due to the introverted nature of Fi, INFPs’ status as feelers is not always evident from without. When immersed in Fi, they can seem a bit cool, aloof, or indifferent.“ (Drenthe). This type is pretty well representative of Yamato’s caring, passionate and caring side, and especially his conflict during Adventure is beyond, his search for self and meaning. Yamato’s more critical, aggressive, angry, and impetuous side is easily explained by him falling under the influence of the inferior function of this type, Te.
Sora - ENFJ Dominant function: Fe
Warm, empathetic, responsive, and responsible. Highly attuned to the emotions, needs, and motivations of others. Find potential in everyone, want to help others fulfill their potential. May act as catalysts for individual and group growth. Loyal, responsive to praise and criticism. Sociable, facilitate others in a group, and provide inspiring leadership.
Another character who’s relatively difficult to type. I see Sora as being in the middle of many of the Preference axis, hence why I initially typed her as something pretty difference different. But now I’m pretty convinced her dominant function is Fe, even though she’s probably only 51% Extroverted. She leans more towards iNtuition than Sensing: Sora’s definitely someone who can pick up things intuitively, especially when it comes to human relationships. So, ESFJ could probably work as well, but I see her as more of an NF type than a SJ type. Sora’s tendency to become hypersensitive, stubborn and withdrawn when under stress? That’s the inferior function, Ti.
Koushirou - INTJ Dominant function: Ni
Have original minds and great drive for implementing their ideas and achieving their goals. Quickly see patterns in external events and develop long-range explanatory perspectives. When committed, organize a job and carry it through. Skeptical and independent, have high standards of competence and performance - for themselves and others.
This is an example of how learning more about Functions made me change my mind! I believe Koushirou is the text-book definition of INTJ and the Ni function. Koushirou isn’t just someone who thinks — he creates knew knowledge and connects theoretical possibilities. One of the effects of the inferior function of this type, Ni, is an “Obsessive focus on external data”, which means that they can become obsessed with controlling small details, which is what Koushirou tends to do under stress.
Mimi - ESFP Dominant function: Se
Outgoing, friendly, and accepting. Exuberant lovers of life, people, and material comforts. Enjoy working with others to make things happen. Bring common sense and a realistic approach to their work, and make work fun. Flexible and spontaneous, adapt readily to new people and environments. Learn best by trying a new skill with other people.
Mimi is a rather obvious fit for this type, not only with her bubbly and happy exterior, but also her naïveté and compassion towards others (Crest of Purity).
Jou - ISTJ Dominant function: Si
Quiet, serious, earn success by thoroughness and dependability. Practical, matter-of-fact, realistic, and responsible. Decide logically what should be done and work toward it steadily, regardless of distractions. Take pleasure in making everything orderly and organized - their work, their home, their life. Value traditions and loyalty.
Jou’s type seems pretty straightforward. The characteristics of this type to fit him (and the Crest of Honesty) very well. The inferior Function of this type is Ni, manifested as impulsiveness and catastrophizing — classic Jou moves whenever he looses his cool.
Takeru - ENFP Dominant function: Ne
Warmly enthusiastic and imaginative. See life as full of possibilities. Make connections between events and information very quickly, and confidently proceed based on the patterns they see. Want a lot of affirmation from others, and readily give appreciation and support. Spontaneous and flexible, often rely on their ability to improvise and their verbal fluency.
Takeru is REALLY hard to type. Mostly because, just like his brother, he isn’t as transparent as he seems. Behind that charming, open, happy façade, Takeru runs deep. I ended up choosing ENFP is described as the most optimistic of all types (Crest of Hope), and they are very charismatic and inspiring as well. The “dark side” of this type can be hopelessness or depression (see also: tri. Chapter 3!)
Hikari - ISFP Dominant function: Fi
Quiet, friendly, sensitive, and kind. Enjoy the present moment, what's going on around them. Like to have their own space and to work within their own time frame. Loyal and committed to their values and to people who are important to them. Dislike disagreements and conflicts, do not force their opinions or values on others.
Hiakri is another one whose type isn’t obvious, but maybe for different reasons than the other characters I hesitated about — we just don’t see enough of her. I think you can make a strong argument for her being an Intuitive type, but ultimately I think Fi represents her better.
Daisuke - ESFP Dominant function: Se
I know it’s reductive to say Daisuke and Taichi have different personality type, but that’s easy to understand if you see them as being in different stages of type development.
Miyako - ENFP Dominant function: Ne
I’ve always thought Takeru and Miyako are pretty alike, hence why I think they would both fit this type.
Iori - ISTJ Dominant function: Si
Again, Iori and Jou are pretty alike, although at different stages of their personality development. I could see Iori a ISTP/ISTJ, too — to be fair, I haven’t made up my mind totally about him.
Ken - INFJ Dominant function: Ni
Seek meaning and connection in ideas, relationships, and material possessions. Want to understand what motivates people and are insightful about others. Conscientious and committed to their firm values. Develop a clear vision about how best to serve the common good. Organized and decisive in implementing their vision.
I’m just going to go and give Ken INFJ, although I’m not entirely sure it is the best fit. Ken is incredibly complex, but Ni seems to describe him fairly well. And certainly, the “dark side” of Ni, Se, can very well explain why Ken developed his Digimon Kaiser persona.
BONUS
A brief summary of the 8 Functions:
Introverted Intuition (Ni) collects conscious and subconscious information, and then synthesizes it to produce convergent impressions, insights, answers, and theories. It sees deep causes, patterns, and laws underlying sense data. It is characteristically penetrating and insightful.
Extraverted Intuition (Ne) surveys and creatively recombines a breadth of ideas, associations, patterns, and possibilities. It is characteristically innovative, divergent, open-ended, and non-discriminating. Outwardly, Ne users may present as scattered, random, quirky, witty, and ideationally curious.
Introverted Sensing (Si) retains, consolidates, and recollects historical and autobiographical information. It attends to and draws on a concentrated body of past experiences, routines, and traditions (i.e., the “tried and true”). It forgoes the constant pursuit of new or broad experiences, finding safety and security in stability and consistency. It also surveys inner bodily sensations.
Extraverted Sensing (Se) seeks extensive outer stimulation in the “here and now”—new sights, sounds, tastes, experiences, etc. It is open-ended and non-discriminating with respect to new experiences. It can also be associated with image-consciousness and observation skills, displaying a keen eye for detail. Outwardly, it may manifest as a recurrent desire for activities beyond talking (“Let’s do something!”).

“Introverted Thinking (Ti) utilizes deep and nuanced logic to examine techniques, problems, concepts, or theories. It seeks self-regulation and self-optimization through the development of personal skills, methods, and strategies. It takes a skeptical and reductive approach toward knowledge.
Extraverted Thinking (Te) uses explicit logic, including standardized methods, measurements, policies, and procedures, to make systems and operations more rational, efficient, or effective. This often involves working as part of an institution, be it corporate, scientific, academic, etc. Outwardly, Te delivers opinions and directives in a firm, direct, measured, and unemotional fashion. It may at times be perceived as harsh, tactless, or unsympathetic.”
“Introverted Feeling (Fi) explores and refines personal tastes and feelings, contributing to a strong sense of personal uniqueness. It is self-regulating and self-controlling, working to maintain inner emotional and moral order. It may also emotionally invest in a limited number of love objects, be they persons, animals, hobbies, or causes.
Extraverted Feeling (Fe) surveys a breadth of human emotions, values, and morals. It strives toward interpersonal rapport, consensus, and continuity. It can also be associated with effective communication and social intelligence, facilitating growth and transformation in others. Outwardly, it delivers opinions and directives in a direct yet tactful way, often with a sense of emotional urgency and conviction.

RNM 2x08 - Say It Ain't So
EPISODE SUMMARY:
JAMIE CLAYTON GUEST STARS — Despite promising Liz (Jeanine Mason) that he’ll take things easy with his new heart, Max (Nathan Dean) sets out to find Cameron after learning that she’s gone missing. Michael (Michael Vlamis) grows concerned about Maria (Heather Hemmens) after a surprising discovery about her family history leaves her vulnerable. Elsewhere, ready to move on, Alex (Tyler Blackburn) goes on a date with Forrest (guest star Christian Antidormi), and Rosa (Amber Midthunder) makes a decision about her future. Rachel Raimist directed the episode written by Eva McKenna & Christopher Hollier (#208). Original airdate 5/4/2020.
DETAILS:
Rosa's secret identity:
"...Cousin Rosalinda from Arizona. My mom married a minor league baseball player, but when he got relocated to a team in Florida…"
"Okay, you know what, let's just go with, they're dead."
This is a Twilight reference.
Rosa about the Mean Girl's art in the cave:
"That reminds me of Stephen Powers before he sold out."
Stephen Powers is a former street artist who went commercial. Some examples of his older work here:
Other examples of his newer, more commercial work here:
By the way, speaking of the cave:
And this is some fabulous visual storytelling right here:
Max is working at the Wild Pony. Temporarily, of course.
"Turns out debt collectors don't care if you've been half dead in a glowing pod for a few months."
So much for the headcanon that Max "I've been driving the same car since high school and am a homeowner before 30" Evans is good with his money. 😆 Debt collectors don't show up that fast… not that I know from experience or anything. 😳 *backs slowly away*
Iris refers to the cave as the go to hang spot for all the artsy weirdos. So it isn't like it was specifically Rosa's cave/hidden spot.
It's the first time we've seen this particular cave other than in 2008 flashbacks.
Iris Sanchez & Rosa Ortecho. Flower, Mexican family name. 😭 The hint is there!
Also 👀 from:
The iris earned its name from the ancient Greek Goddess Iris, a messenger to the gods who was thought to use the rainbow as a bridge between heaven and earth...these flowers were named to honor the Rainbow Goddess and bring favor upon the earth.
Mimi made Maria take back the necklace.
"She said that it was too late for her and that I needed it more."
Michael has seen the necklace before, but he didn't know what the flower was when he fixed the clasp and returned it to her in 1x10. It was 1x11 when they learned of the existence of the anti alien pollen. Michael reminds us:
"I know this flower. Its pollen has a paralytic effect on alien abilities."
Once Maria takes it off, she can name every card Michael pulls from the deck.
Maria lists off a bunch of necklace facts from past episodes that fandom has previously noted...
Her powers were heightened when Michael had the necklace in 1x10.
She wasn't wearing it when Noah invaded her at the gala.
And she wasn't wearing it at Woman As Warrior in 2x02 when she sensed that Isobel was pregnant.
"Kyle said you aren't an alien."
Fact. Kyle did say that. It doesn't mean that it's a fact that Maria doesn't have alien DNA in her though.
Kyle determined that her blood doesn't carry the alien protein that's in the Pod Squad and Rosa. He is making an assumption that the protein is tied to being an alien.
He said he ran other tests, but the results would take longer to come in.
Also, just a personal theory, what else do Rosa and the Pod Squad (and Noah) all have in common? They all spent significant time marinating in a pod full of goo. Rosa (10 years), Pod Squad (at least 50 years), Noah (60 years). Kyle has not studied any samples of alien biology from an alien who didn't spend time in pod goo. It's possible the protein is related to the pod goo, moreso than the alien biology. Again, just speculation on my part.
Maria confirms that her mom started getting sick when she was 18, just after she passed the necklace on to Maria.
"If this prevents you from having more episodes, it probably stops the neurodegeneration process too. It's not kryptonite, Maria. This is preventative medicine. Keep it on."
In 2x06 it was established that in addition to Sanders' place being a junkyard and a mechanic/auto shop, they also do tow truck service. Now that comes into play again as Michael was hired to bring Cam's car back to Roswell for the investigation into her disappearance. He brought it to the junk yard first though to give Max and Liz an hour to check the car for clues before the sheriff's department comes to collect it.
Max is smart too, in his own way. He quickly identified that "Agent Powell" was driving a rental car and that her gun wasn't government issue.
However, it's only when he sees her tattoo (which Cam told him about in 1x07) that he confirms that she's actually Charlie Cameron!
(10 points to fandom!)
Max & Liz's conversation with Charlie is mostly just reminding us what we know about Charlie and Jenna's relationship.
Liz indicates that Jenna had been looking for Charlie for months. Charlie responds that she didn't want to be found (both things we learned in 2x04 through Cam's discussion with Jesse Manes.
Max indicates that Jenna thought that Charlie hated her, a call back to us first learning about Charlie and the matching tattoos in 1x07.
"I worked on a controversial project a while back. A lot of dangerous people want to know what I know."
(Again, stuff we learned in 2x04).
They learn through Cam's text history that she was looking for Jesse Manes (which we already knew, because...2x04).
"I'm just a guy standing in front of a tourist trap asking a history buff to shoot him with high velocity paint."
Tongue-in-cheek reference to the movie Notting Hill.
"So, you're cool playing war? Doesn't bring anything up?"
"Oh, yeah, my PTSD triggers are a little more complicated. Suffice to say, this war zone is the only place that my family actually got along when I was a kid."
"Yeah, some of my old platoon buddies actually play in leagues."
"I didn't know that you served."
"Yeah I wouldn't go bragging about it to a guy with a Purple Heart. I might have googled you."
New information… both that Forrest served, that he looked into Alex (which could be innocent OR sketchy…).
And of course this is the first open discussion about Alex's PTSD issues.
Cowboys versus aliens paintball… Alex is the cowboy, so Forrest must be the alien.
The call that interrupted Forrest's attempt to kiss Alex was from the hospital. Hence why Alex goes there to see Jesse.
"Look, if I had a little lucky charm that could stop people like Noah from messing with me, I would have that surgically implanted into my décolletage."
Have to admit, I wasn't sure what décolletage meant, so in case anyone else isn't familiar:
"These abilities are a part of me. I'm not gonna just throw away the chance to learn about who I am. That make sense to you?"
"Yeah, actually, it does."
"You've gotten stronger this year, right? Can you teach me to train? Learn how to control it all?"
"Look, it took a lot of practice before I could do anything without puking and guzzling acetone to kill the pain. And you can't practice, because according to Kyle, every time you do it eats your brain."
"Look, I'll stop before it goes that far, okay? I know the signs. Besides, if you help me, maybe I can help you. There must be something that you want to know about your future."
"What about my past?"
Max meeting with Jesse at the Crashdown. This is super interesting because it's the first time Max has sat down, face to face, with a hostile human who knows he's an alien.
"My uncle used to bring me here. That was back when it catered to a more civil clientele. People who actually respected the history of this town."
This is likely foreshadowing what's to come next week, based on the promo pics released.
Again, similar to the scene with Charlie at the junkyard, much of this exchange between Max and Jesse is just reminding us of stuff we learned in 1x04.
"The last time I saw her she came to me with questions about her sister. And I told her that the people most interested in Charlie's device were a black ops group based out of Los Alamos. They're called Deep Sky. This is their logo. Paramilitary. And I told Jenna that what she was getting into was gonna be dangerous. But apparently she didn't listen.
Note: in case any of you are unaware, in Los Alamos there's a US DOE lab that has a long, sketchy history of weapons development. Makes perfect since that it's where a paramilitary organization interested in Charlie's research would be based there.
The Deep Sky Logo
I compared this to a number of screenshots of alien symbols (like the ones we saw in Jim Valenti's letters in 1x12) and there were no matches.
However, fandom has already noted that the logo matches Trevor's ring in 2x06 (see that episode's details post for the photo).
"Charlie Cameron's mind is a unique specimen. Kind of like you. And there's always someone in the shadows waiting to crack those open."
"What did you do to Jenna?"
"I told her the truth. Which is more than you ever did. You're kind of a wolf in sheep's clothing, aren't you?"
"And what are you? Do you feel like a hero? All those people you tortured, all those people you killed. Turns out none of them were an enemy. They were refugees. So you're not just a murderer, you're a failure."
"Yeah, I know. I am. But I tell you, something shifted in my brain when I had the stroke. All the hate's gone out of me. All the fight. Caulfield is over and my son Flint has been reassigned. Look at me. I can barely walk."
Liz and Charlie in the car:
"Waitressing's really got to blow when you've grown a fully functioning heart muscle in a lab. Or are you not the same Elizabeth Ortecho who co-authored a 2013 paper on cellular reprogramming? Some people build model trains; I do my homework. Your boyfriend seems more like the train type."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"We've discovered new worlds and changed the course of mankind from a microscope. Should I go Netflix and chill with my boyfriend or stay in the lab, architecting the future?"
"No offense, but if it's true that you've been in prison and in hiding, it does not seem like you've seen much of the inside of a lab either."
"I went too far. I thought I was building something with real value. The thing is, anything that has the potential to create real change, it scares people. And anything that scares people is inherently dangerous no matter what your intention is."
"You could start over. Get a new identity, work at a research university."
"I've done extraordinary things. Everything ordinary is ruined now."
More exposition that we already know as Max catches Charlie and Liz up on what he learns from Jesse.
"He said Cam is headed to Los Alamos to investigate a group called Deep Sky. Does that mean anything to you?"
"No. Let me reach out to some of my military contacts, do some recon. Give me a day, we'll go from there."
Liz and Michael, in the lab, on The Science:
"I'm looking for the sample of yellow pollen."
"The stuff I swept off the floor after throwing it at Noah? I don't know. I didn't see it while we were packing up."
"Well it was here a few months back. Did I miss an experiment where it grew legs and a fondness for the outdoors?"
"Could have been accidentally thrown away. Sample was too oxidized to be of much use, and I've been trying to get my hands on fresh flowers, but it's impossible. I think they might be extinct. Why are you freaking out?"
"Because I have a math problem. There's only one flower in Maria's necklace, but there are two DeLuca women and apparently the flower is the key to preventing their illness. This is everything from the Caulfield drives and the experiments done on Maria's grandmother. A lot of it was lost in a lab fire in the '80s, but…"
"I'll take a look."
(Aside… 👀 Lab fire in the '80s. I have a feeling that's more foreshadowing.)
"I just want you to see if anything done could be undone. I don't want you to, like, Dr. Frankenstein it. The experiments were very bad."
"My days as an alien scientist are officially over."
"Why don't I believe you?"
"'Cause it's hard not to think about the far-reaching implications of this kind of research. You don't get sick on this planet. If I could figure out why, I could eradicate all illness."
"But you can't. Because that would expose us."
"Which I would obviously never do. It's over."
Arturo's text to Liz:
Have you seen our little mouse?
"Rosalinda" is late for her first shift.
Isobel and Maria go to Michael's trailer and Isobel shows Maria the newspaper clip of Michael's mom to try to trigger a vision.
"It's not working. And I don't feel great going through this stuff without Michael knowing."
"Why not? One day this palace might all be yours."
"It's not working. I have a business to run, and you need to go Instagram something."
"Says the social media revitalizer. Listen, word to the wise, every time Max saw Liz in a skirt and tried not to pop a bulb, he wound up setting off a fire alarm. Everytime I push myself too hard, I miss time, or wind up accidentally realizing that my mom still thinks about her ex-boyfriend Rocco, like, in vivid detail."
"Okay, where are you going with this?"
"Effort doesn't equal control. So if you want to do this you're gonna have to embrace your inner ice queen and let it go."
"I'm not great at letting things go."
"Yeah, I know. That's hard…"
Maria's vision:
Triggered by a t-shirt hanging in the trailer.
Louise is hanging laundry
Walt runs up to her and gives her a little windmill with her name on it. (Initially I thought her name was pressed or punched into the metal, but on second viewing, it looks like it might be puff paint or something similar.)
Walt runs off to find Nora and Louise goes back to hanging laundry.
After the vision Maria's nose starts bleeding.
Max goes after Charlie to stop her from turning herself in.
I wonder if his tire screeching action guy driving is supposed to be emphasizing to the audience that he's not being as cautious as he should be?
Deep Sky said that if Charlie "...wasn't at Sutter's grain depot by 11pm, that they would torture (Cam) to death."
Charlie heard on the call:
A train rolling by
A demonic laugh
And somehow that's enough for Max to magically know exactly where Cam is.
Alex and Jesse at the hospital:
"Hey, they said that you mixed whiskey with your medications. That's not like you."
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"I don't know. I mean, you're my father. I can't seem to shake you."
"Yeah. I failed."
"Yes. But in what way specifically?"
"Uncle Tripp. I let him down. I never could figure out what he needed of me. And tonight I went to the bunker. And I keep trying to crack the code."
"Liz said that you spoke to Max Evans. She said that you were half decent to him. Is that what this is about?"
"One of them killed Tripp, you know."
"An alien? Yeah. Then he hunted them. He dragged them to a torture chamber. I'm not surprised one of them…"
Jesse slams his cane.
"He was the best man I ever knew.
Jesse tries to stand and falls into Alex, then continues to walk away.
The location that Deep Sky is holding Cam looks like a rodeo or horse arena or racetrack with a big grandstand.
There are nearby train tracks, and a warehouse where a mechanic repairs old carnival rides.
As Max and Charlie are scoping out the area you can hear both sounds softly in the background.
The sniper was watching and shooting at them from the grandstand.
Charlie is shot in the leg.
"Let me go get her."
"No. Deep Sky wants me alive. Your brain is worth considerably less to them which means it'll be splattered all over the dirt."
(Oh the irony...confirming that Charlie doesn't know that Max is an alien.)
"If anything goes wrong, call Liz. No doctors."
Max does shoot the sniper!
And then uses his powers to knock out the power (and instantly feeling it in his heart when he starts to use his powers!!!!!!) which, as @angsty-aliens very eloquently pointed out, is absurd because there was a big red lever that would have done the same thing. *facepalm*
Cam on her kidnapping:
"The last thing I remember is this weird sound. It made the hairs on my arm stand up. And this bright light, and the pain in the back of my neck like you wouldn't believe."
Cam's burn is fractals. Like Liz's burn from Max's powers in 1x03. Top is Liz's fresh burn in 1x03, bottom is Cam's not-so-fresh burn in 2x08. Keep in mind, we don't know how long Cam was missing for.
Rosa and Iris at the "art show".
"So you said you're from Roswell?"
"Oh, I was from Roswell. I got out and went to art school as soon as I graduated. I work for an artist now. I help her run her gallery. Yeah, I used to want to be a painter, but then I realized I loved curating art way more than I ever loved making it."
👀 I wonder what this says about Rosa's internal motivation. If Iris is the life she wishes that she had, does she not want to be a painter? Or is that her internal insecurity rearing its head. Like, she can't even dream about that possibility because it's what she really wants above all else. Which is why Iris then motivates her to paint and prove to her inner self that she is an artist?
Speaking of which, here's Rosa's painting from the episode. Mucho gracias to @rosaortecho for giffing it for me since it wasn't cap-able in a single shot.
Iris's assessment of Rosa's art:
"This piece is you outrunning your demons. This is amazing. That's what you have to do. You have to capture them and rattle the cage. This is art. This is what you're meant to do, Rosa!"
Rosa's hallucination starts to fall apart as they dance. She starts coughing and having trouble breathing.
"Your star sign's just out of whack."
Play on lyrics from God of Wine by Third Eye Blind, which was heavily referenced in 1x02.
The direct quote is "your star sign's out of whack" and the next lyric is "a fraudulent zodiac"
Which, of course, is what Rosa had written on her hand before she died in 2008 and is a reference to Ophiuchus, which was Noah's zodiac obsession.
And then Liz finds her overdosing in the cave.
The coughing in Rosa's hallucination was from smoke inhalation. Because while passed out she started a fire with her powers.
Feels like a good time to point out that it's the same cave that she died in back in 2008, and she would have died there again if Liz hadn't found her. 😭
At the hospital Rosa tells Liz that she wants to go to rehab, but she knows she can't since she can't control her powers.
Liz gives her Maria's necklace to borrow since it will suppress her powers and allow her to go to rehab.
Alex and Forrest at the Wild Pony:
"I still have my dad's voice in my head telling me that being seen with a man in public is an embarrassment. To my name and my uniform."
"Well, there's nothing like a dad voice to mess up a perfectly good date."
"It's also just that...I mean, Roswell's so conservative. This bar is filled with cowboys. If you want to go someplace private…"
"Look, I like you. But I don't want to climb into somebody else's closet."
"I cannot tell you how badly I want to be done with this frickin' closet."
"But you're not. And that's okay. Really. Listen, if that voice in your head ever shuts up, give me a call. Because between you and me, making out with a hot guy in public is only made hotter when it pisses off all the bigots and homophobes."
Charlie took off and left a note for Jenna. According to Jenna it says she's gonna disappear again and not to look for her.
Arturo is taking Rosa to a rehab center that Kyle set her up with "a few hours away".
Max tells Liz "let's go home." So… did she move in with him??
Liz says no though. She says she has to open the diner and cry alone. But instead she goes to the secret lab.
Both Max and Liz were evading the truth a little bit here. Liz didn't tell Max that she wanted to go to the secret lab. Max didn't tell Liz that his heart did wonk out after using his powers and he did overdo it going after Cam. Bad Echo!!
Liz goes back to packing the secret lab up initially, but then her eyes fall into the Caulfield folders, and she stops.
She unpacks her stolen equipment (genetic sequencer?), puts on her lab coat, and sits down to start reading the file.
Isobel brings Michael beer as a peace offering, since she's coming to admit that she helped Maria trigger a vision. She thinks Michael will be mad, but he isn't because he and Maria already worked it out.
So Isobel tells him about the vision and seeing Louise, and specifically about Walt giving Louise the windmill.
Michael immediately reacts, goes to a shelf, and grabs a similar windmill.
Turns out Walt is Sanders. He pulls up in his car and Michael immediately confronts Sanders.
"It was you. You're Walt. You're the little boy in the photo. You knew my mother."
And Sanders nods.
10 more points to fandom.
Max goes to Charlie's hotel to confront her about turning herself in to Deep Sky.
The windmill in both scenes. Until I put this together I didn't think they were the same one (because Louise's name isn't on Michael's. But other details (like the word weight on one of the legs) are the same.
"You think Deep Sky needs to have Jenna by the throat to kill her? Okay, the only way that I can protect her is from the inside."
Then the "abduction scene" happens.
It mirrors what happened to Jenna in 2x04, only to Max and Charlie.

Digimon Epilogue Celebration: Friendship
Some 2028 friendship headcanons below the cut. I’m focusing on our known Chosen, since I haven’t thought enough about how their kiddos would interact.
-Some of the Chosen interact frequently in a professional capacity, even if they aren’t in the same business. For example, Koushiro’s Digital World research and digimon technology advancements are relevant to Taichi as an ambassador, Ken as a digimon police officer, Jyou as a digimon doctor, and Iori as a lawyer specializing in the needs of digimon.
Although our babes are not suspicious by nature, they tend to trust each other first whenever possible. Sadly, they’ve suffered a lot at the hands of Chosen outside of their group abusing their ties to digimon and the inherent trust that the Chosen share as a global unit.
-Takeru spent a few months routinely calling and grilling everyone for info for his novels based on their adventures. This actually caused contention in the group; some of the Chosen disagree on what happened (it was a long time ago, and the human memory isn’t very reliable), and some of them didn’t want certain events published. Still, it’s Takeru, and... The Chosen have trouble saying no to Takeru. Some of them enjoyed the walk down memory lane... Others, not so much.
-Taichi and Yamato forever retain their... complicated, but intimate relationship. They each do a lot of traveling for work, and when they find themselves in the same city, they meet up for drinks/dinner/whatever the locals do for entertainment in that place. They don’t see each other often, but when they do... Everything instantly comes back, like they were never apart.
Which is both exceptionally comforting and annoying, because their bond is just as strange as is it strong. They ask each other uncomfortable questions and don’t take shit if they think the other is making a mistake. Phrases such as, “Get it together, ass” tend to come up. Frequently.
-You can pry Mimi and Sora’s ‘close friends forever’ relationship from my cold, dead hands. They rarely see each other in person- some years, the annual August 1 get-together is the only time- but they web chat, call, and text frequently. They are both boss ladies who support each other and promote each other’s businesses however they can. For all of their life, they provide each other with a safe place to talk without judgement, with nothing but support.
They also know how to paint the town on those rare times when they get together, especially when Miyako is there, too!
-SPEAKING OF BESTIES, Hikari and Miyako probably lived together at some point, but likely not for long, since Miyako and Ken married early. They are probably the Chosen friends who see each other the most frequently in person, since Hikari’s teaching job and Miyako’s stay at home mom job allow the time for it.
Miyako encourages Hikari to stand up for herself, love herself, and start therapy. Hikari gives Miyako outings and adult friendship time, which is vital for a SAHM. Their kids are close friends.
-Taichi chose a difficult life for himself as a Digital World/earth ambassador. The pressure and the mental load leak into his personal life. When his job or leave take him to the Tokyo area, he stops by Koushiro’s place, and sometimes stays there, depending on Koushiro’s workload at the time.
Taichi continues to tell Koushiro things he can’t tell anyone else. Koushiro is someone who... both admires Taichi and sees him as a leader, but also sees him as he is: a normal man with a lot on his shoulders who often needs a friendly ear and a quiet place to rest. In return, Koushiro can relax around Taichi, and he is usually willing to set his work aside for as long as Taichi needs him, outside of emergencies.
-Koushiro is in email contact with Miyako about their lives and his work. He encourages her to work as a Digital World researcher when her kids are all in school and helps her find a position.
-Ken and Daisuke are BEST BROS FOR LIFE, and they absolutely abuse their digital gate privileges to see each other from anywhere around the world, at any time. Miyako jokes about “did you marry me, or Daisuke,” but the truth is that she loves Daisuke, too, and joins them when she can.
Daisuke pops in from America with food from whatever restaurant he just discovered. Since he brings enough for the whole Ichijouji clan, he is warmly received by all. The night usually ends with a fun game of soccer with Daisuke, his son, and the Ichijoujis.
-Iori and Ken have an interesting relationship as adults, since their jobs bring them in contact so frequently. Ken once said, “See you at the next murder,” to Iori at a party, and Iori nodded, not realizing that they had horrified the other party guests (who did not realize that Ken meant ‘in court, where I will be offering evidence from the scene and you will be defending someone’).
Ken and Iori respect the hell out of each other. Happily, if they do see each other in court, they are usually on the same team/have the same goal of defending the innocent.
When they are both available, they sometimes attend meditation classes together.
-As an adult, Jyou continues his trend of “difficult to get in touch with.” Being a doctor in a whole new field is no joke! But he drops everything if he isn’t at the hospital to help any Chosen with a medical concern.
He tends to be in contact most frequently with Koushiro, often to discuss their research/work, and with Yamato. He and Yamato can tell each other anything without judgement, and though they rarely see each other in person, they talk on the phone at least monthly.
-Miyako and Mimi try their best to see each other at least quarterly, but it’s difficult for Mimi to make the time. Still, they call about once a week, and their conversations are usually energetic, happy, and refreshing for both parties. Miyako loves hearing Mimi’s juicy studio gossip and travel stories, although she sometimes feels a little envious of Mimi’s lifestyle.
-Takeru and Hikari have a few periods (when they’re both single) when everyone suspects they’re dating on the down low. Who knows! Although they don’t see each other often, they check in once every few months. Hikari loves Takeru’s sense of humor, but his... big personality can be difficult for her to deal with at times. Takeru has had a quiet crush on Hikari for a long time.
-Sora and Taichi are in phone/web chat contact, sometimes often, sometimes not. To be honest, Taichi sometimes avoids Sora when he’s low, or he knows she will scold him (because he effed up). Sora sometimes feels a little guilt about how far apart life has taken them, since they used to hang out daily in elementary school.
Sora sees Taichi’s struggles from afar and wants to help, but Taichi tends to make that difficult. Still, Sora’s warmth usually wins the day, and they connect when they really need each other. When Taichi is in a good mood, his positive attitude lifts Sora up.
-Jyou and Mimi aren’t in contact often, but they find time for the odd phone call here and there. Mimi looks up to Jyou and wants to support him in his career and his life. Her cheerfulness can turn a hard day at the hospital around.
-Daisuke forever looks up to Taichi, even when life has one or both of them down. They see each other whenever Taichi is in NYC for work, and Daisuke cooks for him and takes him to whatever restaurant is his current favorite. Taichi never says so, but Daisuke’s admiration for him means a lot.
-Takeru and Yamato share lifelong brotherhood. Takeru will never stop adoring Yamato, and Yamato will never stop caring for Takeru (and worrying about him). They babysit for each other and have family outings together.
-Hikari and Taichi are maybe a little more distant as they grow up than Takeru and Yamato? But the siblings will drop everything if one or the other needs help, and they always have a good, supportive relationship.
-BONUS: Eimi (my headcanon Koushiro’s significant other) is often in contact with Jyou, as their hands-on work with digimon leads to information that they both need. She also requests Ken’s help when she discovers another lab doing something shifty with digimon, or abuse of technology that she, Koushiro, or her coworkers at the National Data Bureau have developed.
Eimi has seen Chosen outside of Taichi’s group abusing their status, so she insists on dealing with Taichi/Jyou/Iori/Ken when she needs help in their fields (and Koushiro, of course). She thinks her coworkers yield to this because they also want the assistance of the most famous Chosen. That’s not wrong... But what she doesn’t realize is that being Koushiro’s wife gives her clout in digimon situations. It’s for the best that she doesn’t feel her own influence; she assumes that everyone is looking to the original Chosen and not noticing what she’s up to.
Her closest relationships among Koushiro’s Chosen friends are with Jyou and Ken, whom she frequently works with. But Taichi spends time at her apartment to see Koushiro, and the unique troubles he faces tug at Eimi’s heartstrings. Koushiro is somewhat alarmed when she takes on an almost motherly attitude towards his Chosen leader and upperclassman- Eimi talks to Taichi in ways that Koushiro wouldn’t dare to (unsolicited advice/kind-hearted nagging)! Taichi grumbles about it, but enjoys being doted on.
I think this was my favorite prompt so far!!!!!

So. I wasn’t going to post about Roswell, but now I am, so buckle up because this is going to be a long one.
A lot of people on Tumblr, Twitter, and the wider internet have, over the last few days, very intelligently posed criticisms of Roswell’s representation of POCs and queer characters in the context of Malex. While I have to be upfront about the fact that the problematic writing has made me apprehensive of seeing the show through to its next season, I’ve been pretty quiet on that front as I gather my thoughts and figure out what I need to say. As a white woman, I am upset and dismayed by the token and tone-deaf representation, but I feel like that’s not mine to speak to when there are a lot of people of colour in this fandom who can and should take this opportunity to explain, criticize, and educate the rest of us on how the show has failed and how it must do better. In that regard the most worthwhile contribution I can make is to listen and amplify those voices and their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and insights about the negative and at best lazy representation of people of colour on the show.
But as a bisexual woman and a professional writer and editor, I am in a position to criticize the queer representation from a political and social standpoint, but also a creative one. I am going to break this post up into two parts because there’s a lot I want to address about two separate issues, and I think the waters will get muddied if I try to combine it into one post. So let’s talk about Malex first, which is the subject about which, oddly enough, I feel the most calm. Depressed af, but mostly calm.
More under the cut.
A lot of people have already written about Malex or Tweeted Carina and the production team far more eloquently than I can manage, but the thing is, while I do have issues I’ll get into in a sec, I... actually think they have done a good job of writing Michael as a bisexual man and Alex as a gay one. That isn’t a popular opinion at the moment, but hear me out, because I have a lot more to say on the subject of bisexuality that doesn’t concern Michael Guerin. The show’s struggle isn’t entirely that their politics are bad. I do think the intentions are mostly good--mostly--but what I want to speak to is the breakdown between intentions and how those intentions translate to the screen through the medium of writing, direction, and the actors’ performances.
I don’t want to dismiss or disregard anyone who feels differently since that view is also totally valid and a lot of people have raised very fine points to that end. This is just my interpretation, so take it with a grain of salt and feel free to disregard or not. But my take is we can’t boil down the show’s issues to saying oh it’s biphobic or homophobic where Michael and Alex are concerned. I don’t think it is, not inherently.
The show’s struggle is that the writing is often so sloppy, rushed, and disjointed that it’s impossible to tell whether they don’t fully understand what positive queer representation is and what it isn’t, or if they just don’t know how to do it justice on TV. Perhaps it’s a combination of both, and right now I’m not writing off either possibility.
But I’m inclined to think it’s the latter. To be clear: the Malex/Maria triangle is shitty writing because love triangles frequently are, and they’re really, really difficult, if not impossible, to get right. The reason I think so many of us are up in arms about it is because the show rushed and stumbled its way through a 30-second supercut of Alex and Michael’s relationship from the word go, just enough to get us hooked before abandoning it for something else.
We’re pissed because it’s like they got us addicted to black tar heroin and then took away our fix just as the night sweats and shaky hands started to kick in, and at this point my life since episode 1x11 has been like a bad Trainspotting withdrawal montage. I don’t think they have intentionally baited us, although that is what it feels like. It’s taken a lot of angst and going back and forth on my part to arrive at this conclusion, and I will say I still waffle about it some days. But bad writing is bad because it pulls unintentionally negative reactions from people due to being misunderstood, or from creating all these wild implications the writers didn’t necessarily intend or realize were present in the final product.
The fact that Carina has to take to Twitter to explain each episode to viewers shows the quality of the writing or lack thereof. If it were stronger, she wouldn’t have to do that, but the show suffers from chronic exposition, incredibly bad pacing, and an overreliance on plot devices to advance the story rather than gradual and necessary character development. Sorry if that’s harsh, but the editor part of my brain sometimes wants to weep during episodes of Roswell. Oftentimes a bunch of shit will happen in an episode that doesn’t even progress the story, leaving us or the characters at exactly the same place they started off.
In short, everything happens too much. The characters feel like they have no agency because they are always reacting to one thing after another every episode, not even a second for them to breathe and be and let us see who they really are when the world isn’t on fire. And that’s all the characters, not just Alex and Michael, although arguably we have a bit more insight into the primary characters like the Pod Squad and Liz. But really, everything suffers as a result. The characters seem thin or underdeveloped and the sense of urgency, tension, and risk disappears even from theoretically high-stakes scenes like a live shooter at a hospital because we don’t get to see who the characters are in their normal lives. We don’t fully know what’s important to them before the next explosion happens.
Adversity is a helpful writing tool because it can show us who characters are under a certain set of high-pressure circumstances, but boredom and normalcy is just as important for character development. You can’t tear down what we don’t know exists. Star Wars: A New Hope wouldn’t have been half as effective if we hadn’t seen Luke Skywalker in his day-to-day life before that simple life was upended and he got the call to adventure. The first stage of the hero’s journey is necessarily the boring part because we can’t cross from the known to the unknown world without seeing what the known world is.
We never really… get that with Roswell. Not even for a second. So of course we feel cheated of bisexual or gay representation in the show because we never actually get to see Michael and Alex in any kind of sustained relationship, healthy or not. It’s just conflict conflict conflict with a bit of sex and longing gazes thrown in, followed by more conflict and then the relationship ending in favour for a new one. All hat, no cattle. (Literally.)
With Michael we get to see some of his routine and him being himself with his family, etc., and a lot of that has to do with the incredible performances Michael Vlamis delivers week after week, although even then, that suffers. Rather than start us off slow and building relationships from the ground up, the season begins in conflict, so that it has the effect of it seeming like the town of Roswell has been vacant for 10 years and everyone moved back in the same day and started catching up on each other’s lives after a decade apart. You don’t get the sense that anyone really talks to each other, even though most of them have been living in the same place their whole lives. Every single relationship, from Isobel and Michael, Max and Michael, Max and Isobel, even Maria and Michael, could have been strengthened if they’d taken more time to lay that groundwork ahead of the conflict. Especially Maria and Michael! Imagine how much better this season would have worked if they’d had an existing relationship, friendship, or flirtation before Alex got back. By this point we’d be nodding and probably going, “Okay, I get it. I might not like it, but I get it.”
Alex by comparison is a total cypher where his background and his day-to-day life is concerned. We know almost nothing about him outside of his history of abuse, his tragic backstory with Michael, and his role in helping to uncover the mystery about the fourth alien. Yes, we’ve gotten to see that he is blunt and fiercely loyal to his friends, and he has serious issues with needing to be in control, which are all valid from a character development standpoint. I have come to desperately crave any and all scenes with him and Kyle because that seems to be when we get the most significant moments of character insight like that wonderful “I’m talking about a conversation, not a war” moment. But how much else do we know or understand about him that is canon, not fans’ headcanon?
Furthermore, the lack of context and representation around Alex’s disability as a veteran, amputee, and potentially as a PTSD-sufferer is really dangerous and feels like tokenism. The way they’ve written the existence of his injury feels inconsistent, and while showing his residual limb during a love scene was significant, they ruined any goodwill we might have developed toward them for that by simply never engaging with his disability again. Same with the fact that he is of Indigenous heritage, which we know FROM A TWEET but which the show has never actually engaged with explicitly, in a move taken straight from the J.K. Rowling Book of Bogus Representation. We don’t quite have enough information to know yet whether this is tokenism or bad writing, in Alex’s case, although I sincerely hope it isn’t the former. Based on everything I’ve seen so far, though, my hopes aren’t high, because it kind of feels like the writers want credit for representation when they haven’t actually done the legwork (yet?).
Maria suffers a similar lack of character development, and what started off promising when we got great scenes with her, Liz, and Alex and then met Mimi has quickly deteriorated to her being nothing more than Michael’s new love interest. As a woman of colour, that is lazy and shitty on multiple levels, and I just about hit the ceiling in 1x11 when they not only showed a black woman being drugged and her body used against her will--could you be more tone-deaf to those implications?!--but had two white women (Jenna and Isobel) accusing Maria of being a murderer to another WOC (Liz). Maria’s very thin character development in the latter half of the season has had the dual effect of making us feel like we’ve been cheated out of a relationship we have gotten attached to but haven’t been given time to fully appreciate or understand (Malex) and thrust into a new one that feels weak, arbitrary, and rote by comparison.
I actually don’t object to the idea of Michael and Maria as a couple. They have great chemistry. But I do object to the lack of development they’ve given us on either front, either Michael/Maria or doing serious justice to Malex as a ship. To think all of that could’ve been solved if the writers had slowed down the show’s pacing and actually given themselves and the characters time to breathe and get to know each other, and us them.
What I feel a lot of straight/white/cis/able-bodied writers don’t seem to understand is that representation takes care. It’s great to say you’re going to write a diverse show and have lots of representation, but it’s for naught if you don’t also understand that you can’t write diversity in the same way you’d write a character coming from a place of privilege, be it racial, socioeconomic, gender, sexuality, ability, etc. Part of that privilege is having a lot of generally positive understanding and assumptions about those characters already built in, especially from your viewers who share that privilege. Writing diversity takes WORK, a lot of attention to detail, sensitivity, and most of all the ability to listen. It takes a lot of consultation with people who have those experiences and know what they’re talking about, because the experiences, assumptions, and biases of nondiverse writers just can’t fully capture what minorities know and live every day of their lives. To do otherwise is how we arrive at whitesplaining, mansplaining, straightsplaining, etc. If you’re a white/straight/cis/able-bodied person and think you’ve done enough to positively represent your diverse characters, that probably means you need to do more. It’s not for you to judge how much is “enough.” That’s for your consultants and, most importantly, your viewers. And if those people are telling you you’ve missed the mark, the next best thing you can do is stfu and listen to them and try to learn how to do better, not get defensive or start patting yourself on the back for everything else you’ve done.
I think those principles can be applied to all the representation on the show, including that of POCs, the differently abled, and the queer characters. I think the writers have done enough with Michael and Alex as queer characters on their own, but they’ve missed the mark on doing enough with them together. Because--and I know this will come as a shock--part of writing queer characters is also giving us well fleshed-out queer relationships. They started off down that road, but at some point the road abruptly ended and left us as viewers feeling stranded in the middle of a desert. That’s uneven writing that results in a feeling of uneven representation, and as far as viewers are concerned, it amounts to the same thing.
Carina’s attempts to explain why they’ve done nothing wrong to viewers via Twitter and social media is sheer intentional fallacy. And while we’re at it, I’ve spent a lot of this season wanting to take Twitter away from her and throw a copy of “The Death of the Author” at her head instead. It’s not enough, Carina. What you intended isn’t enough if it’s not there on the page or visible to us on the show. As a writer she should understand that, but instead she is getting defensive of her abilities as a screenwriter and showrunner when fans pipe up to say whatever she intended isn’t translating properly. We aren’t seeing that representation, which means the writers need to do more than what they think is “enough.”
Add into that a rushed, arbitrary love triangle with an underdeveloped black female character and an underdeveloped gay POC with a disability, especially when those two characters are also best friends whose relationship is severely threatened as a result, and there’s no wonder why viewers are up in arms about this. I don’t think the love triangle makes Michael seem like an indecisive or promiscuous bisexual--and anyway, since when is being promiscuous a bad thing. It just makes him and Maria seem careless of Alex’s feelings and like Alex is the victim, which they could have avoided by taking their time with the characters/relationships, especially the vulnerable ones, or by avoiding such a lazy and unnecessarily dramatic trope in the first place, or at the very least establishing the characters and their relationships enough that our current situation felt more organic.
So really this kind of leaves us at an impasse, I think, as fans. I think people ought to keep speaking up to Carina if they think that will help, but I think it’s also important for us to be able to separate bad politics from bad writing, or at least be able to engage with them as separate things that occasionally (or frequently) overlap with disastrous consequences. I’m sure there are a lot of people who will disagree with this utterly, and that’s fine. Could be I’m totally wrong, and I am aware that I’m probably giving the writers too much credit about what they may or may not have intended.
But with regards to Alex and Michael, maybe it will help to understand what’s happening from this standpoint and tailor our approach accordingly. We really can’t take it upon ourselves to make demands upon the show in terms of what story they want to tell, but we can certainly complain when they aren’t telling that story effectively or when it alienates viewers, especially on points of diversity and representation.
But I don’t know. It could be the only way to make ourselves heard, to tell the writers when they are and aren’t doing “enough,” is to vote with our time, attention, and viewership, whether that means continuing to watch the show or stopping altogether. And that’s kind of a bummer, because there was a lot of potential. But if the quality of the storytelling is unable to make heard the voices and experiences it ought to, especially with such a receptive, enthusiastic audience, then maybe it’s time we start looking for other shows that do a better job, or better yet, continue to keep telling and creating our own.
Those are just my thoughts. Please feel free to discuss with me in the comments or via DM, because I’m still talking through this stuff and welcome the conversation and any alternate or opposing viewpoints.
I’ll be back in a bit to share a second post with my far less forgiving thoughts about Roswell’s representation of queer female sexuality, because that one’s a doozy and the gloves come off. Sorry not sorry in advance.

I’ve been stewing thoughts about the (new, and probably last) end of Arrested Development since I watched it… just a few hours ago. I… honestly don’t know how I feel about it, so here’s some thoughts trying to figure that out:
-Important to note: I was perhaps not feeling super into AD this weekend, and slammed completing a rewatch and watching the new episodes over the weekend anyway. It’s very likely my feelings will change in the future.
-I immediately accepted and loved two of the big twists: Gob is bi (light caveat that I do headcanon that he is more into men than women to some degree, because he felt he had good reason to believe he was completely gay, but it could just be that he’s never been in love with anyone before Tony. But GOB IS SUUUUUPER BI AND THAT IS CANON.) (also, I appreciate that Gob also identified himself as cis-male, high butch. That is precious, he did his research! Just somehow not enough to grok that bisexuality is a thing!) (which makes sense because he is not the sharpest crayon in the box), and Lindsey is Lucille’s half-sister which is amazing. I firmly believe that those two things have always been a part of the characters, and although I am not feeling another rewatch right now I am sure you can read Lindsey’s true relationship to the family into it just as much as you can read Gob’s queerness. (caveat: I am not sure whether I believe that this was a fuck-up or not, probably not. But I’m firmly in the camp of “Nana was Lucille’s stepmother, Mimi was her biological mother”. Makes perfect sense.)
-oh and Michael’s chicken dance. PERFECTION. CANON.
-I was muuuuuch less sure about the Buster twist-slash-untwist-slash-subversion--I don’t even know what kind of trope it is. It seemed to come so suddenly and felt so weird! ...but then I started thinking back over the whole show to try to figure out how it didn’t fit, and realized it actually checks out. Really well, considering the exact ways in which Lucille was overprotective of him, his reactions when he feels angry and betrayed… it’s going to be fun to watch for all this someday. I don’t think he intended to kill her, but just attacked her in his berserk way, and probably Sally, Stan, and maybe Argyle were planning something and took advantage of the situation and could be responsible for the missing footage, since Sally was way too quick to step up and smooth things over. ...yeah, I do wish all the threads were tied up more carefully, but I feel like the big questions have been answered and what’s left is unimportant enough to just be fun to speculate about.
-I didn’t feel this way until I re-binged s5, but yes, there was just too much of the Tobias-DeBrie-Murphybrown stuff. I can’t even call it a plot, because so little happened, and what did happen was so repetitive. The setup was fine, the payoff was fine, but we needed to have like 75% less of the stuff in between. Just give Tobias something else to do that connects better! I really loved his friendship with Gob in s4 and s4 and 5 showing us that when he was able to stay focused on it he wasn’t that bad at therapy, and then 5b (probably 5a too) did next to nothing with all that. I understand it’s Arrested Development, I shouldn’t be here for the plot and I should not expect the characters to learn anything ever, and with Lindsey not being there because Portia retired it was probably tough to find a plot for him, but it did just get really dull.
-on the other hand, I’m still convinced that Tobias is bi-romantic, and somewhere in the demi/grey/asexual range. I guess, given what Gob was going through, it might have felt repetitive in a different way to explore any of that with Tobias, but I’m still mildly let down that it wasn’t really addressed. We just went back to a couple of jokes that could be taken as not-straight confirmation if you squint. Okay.
I don’t think there’s a lot else I’m particularly interested in talking about right now; I enjoyed George Michael’s whole plot and love the mature relationship he and Maeby have developed (not sure how i feel about a romantic relationship for them generally, but i appreciate the joke that they are related again but not enough for it to like… actually matter.). I enjoyed Michael finally getting to use his maritime law degree and doing an almost respectable job at it before becoming convinced that he was the murderer (I honestly thought that would come up so much sooner, and it’s kind of a fantastic joke that it didn’t.). I’ll have to think about most of it a lot more.
In conclusion, I’m just going to assume that a couple years later, Gob and Tony get married at the yacht club and do a big, successful illusion for their wedding. That’s my dream happy ending for them.

Ava
Hates classical music to the point where she'll jump out of a moving car.
Likes to chat casually to bats, often getting into arguments and discussions about mortality with them.
She's got a favourite called "Wayne Bruce" and can often be seen brushing or arguing with him. "No, it's not that I can't buy thirty pounds of watermelon but it's the fact that we'll both get sick!....hand me my money."
Wears blankets like hoods and capes to try and cover her wings more for warmth.
Visits a bakery every morning to eat a diffrent doughnut everyday.
Has a very large tuft of fur around her chest that she hasn't worked out what it's for yet. Pssst, it's for babies to snuggle into and hold onto.
Mimi
Can essentially run through anything as long as she hits the object with her arms first.
Dances to at least one song during the morning while she gets ready and has a soundtrack for everything.
Tends to switch between art projects and will often leave five of them laying about.
Falls asleep in the bath all the time.
Attracts crustaceans to her. Mimi has no idea why but usually if you come to visit her at work??? You'll find lobsters and crabs pooling around her feet.
Always, always, eats grapes as she buys them so by the time she's paying, Mimi has eaten an entire bag already.
Finn
Self conscious of his smile since it makes his cleft lip really obvious.
His jam depends on his mood. Sometimes its smooth when he's happy but can be lumpy when he's angry.
Never swears. He will always, always, say softer words unless it's a raunchy situation ;D
Embarrassed over the amount if hair he grows in the winter. It isn't fun to suddenly have back length hair and a coat of chest hair.
Has a number of different beanies and badges to hide his ears.
Always sleeps until the afternoon when he can.
Sal
Severe phobia of blood to the point where he passes out or throws up at a nosebleed. It relates to his sister.

Floats when he's asleep and keeps hitting the ceiling. Always has the exact same dream and sleepwalks/flies.
Always runs up the stairs because there's a woman who reminds him of his abuser on the first floor.
He's secretly flustered by the idea of being given flowers but hes accepted that no one will ever do something.

Edith has started to make her own herbal teas since her powers come in handy.
She adores Ragnarok and got the horse when she was in her early teens (probably mid 50s for Earth terms lmao).
Has considered chopping her hair off to fit in with Midgard fashion but Edith has fond memories of her parents teaching her and Wulf how to do their hair and it feels like chopping off a piece of home.
New crew
Iris gets rather annoyed with other accents, it's why she's so heavy in making sure all of her experiments sound British.
Adonai knows every Hatsune Miku song off by heart and is incredible at Dance Dance Revolution.

Concept for Meta: Kairi’s fears regarding being forgotten by Sora and Riku resulting in Namine’s power and what she makes of that?
meta time ! // always accepting
so as far as i know we have no idea where namine’s powers stem from because she’s really the only nobody who has complex & powerful abilities like that! ( i think most fleshed out nobodies have some kind of power??? at least the members in org 13 do but none of the abilities seem to be as powerful as namine’s ) i personally am of the mind it’s because kairi’s a princess of heart & therefore is different than the rest of the kh main cast. kairi on her own has very powerful abilities regarding light & healing / restoration so i think it makes sense that some of those transferred with namine. also namine’s creation is entirely different than every other as she wasn’t created when kairi died she was created while inside sora’s heart. it’s absolutely possible that some factors in her creation & abilities stem out from being made while surrounded by TWO keyblade wielders ( sora & ven )
but when it comes to namine’s memories i wouldn’t say exactly they stem from kairi’s fear of being forgotten/abandoned/replaced because at the point she was made kairi had never really been separated by sora or riku for a long period of time. though in my own interpretation kairi has dealt with loneliness for a long time prior to kh1 but at that point fear of being replaced/forgotten hadn’t really crossed her mind because sora & riku had always been with her.
i think it’s more likely that if namine’s powers with memory stemmed from anything regarding kairi it would be from kairi’s memory loss after the events of bbs. especially considering ( correct me if i’m wrong but ) the likely reason for kairi’s memory loss is due to being a test subject to ansem the wise. kairi’s memory loss didn’t come naturally by any means & instead her memories were forcibly taken from her similar to how namine can forcibly remove memories from others. & kairi being a test subject & likely having her mind be manipulated & toyed with can also be a reason why namine has the ability to shut down a person’s mind ( ie repliku )
again because nomura is a bastard & won’t give his female characters a shred of backstory or development we actually don’t know a lot about kairi’s time between bbs & kh1 nor do we really know anything about namine except for her powers & her being kairi’s nobody. so in truth there could probably be a number of reasons for why namine is the way she is.
though as for what kairi thinks of namine’s powers i think they’d make her uneasy to a point. just because namine has the power to completely erase & change a person’s memory. most definitely by the time kh3 comes around kairi has a fear of being forgotten & abandoned. not to mention she was literally forced to forget sora from com-kh2. & if you remember her scene with selphie in kh2 kairi’s absolutely torn up knowing she’s forgetting someone important to her & physically will not rest until she remembers. i think the aftermath of that plus her knowing how much of her past she’s forgotten would result in her being kinda scared of namine’s ability to wipe memories. i think with so much she’s been forced to forget she doesn’t want to lose any more of that nor does she want that to happen to anyone else.
though on the completely side of this coin namine’s powers to restore memories would be something kairi would be intrigued by. i have it written in my kh3 that namine ( most specifically mimi’s namine ) helps kairi recover her memories from before she washed up on destiny islands. i think while namine’s power might intimidate kairi to a point she trusts namine very much & sees the best in her. she may be scared of what she can do but she wouldn’t for a second believe she wouldn’t do it to her or any of her friends unless absolutely necessary. & if namine has a hand in bringing back kairi’s lost memories it would only make kairi trust & believe in her more. she’d be absolutely grateful to namine & probably be a little less fearful of her abilities.
a lot of this meta / headcanon surround’s namine’s like...entire character so namine rpers are absolutely free to disagree with me & i’ll never apply or force any part of this onto you unless you’re down. but yeah those are my thoughts.

Star Guardian Opinions
Just a master post probably going to be followed up later but wanted to get it off my chest now that its 1:30 AM
-First of all I’m not going to let this go they got Lux’s VA back when they made her ulti skin and DIDNT ADD A BUNCH OF SG VOICE LINES!!! Jinx had so many lines over her even though Lux is apparently the Lead Star of “this planet” and now AHRI, a back-up guardian from an entirely different group has loads more lines than both of them- because shes the newest. SCOUT AND BAY BITCH
❛❛ i’m still alive but i’m barely breathing – Sophie Avery Pan.❞
Name :
{ S O P H I E } - meaning “wisdom”
{ A V E R Y } - meaning “ruling with elf wisdom” (yeah, they picked a middle name that basically means the same thing as her first. Well done friends)
{ P A N } - in reference to the minor deity of Greek mythology, who plays pipes to nymphs, and is part human and part goat
Faceclaim :
Aylvia Alyn Lind
Birthday :
January 6th
Those born on January 6th often have an extremely sensitive side. Deep down, they want to show a little tenderness, but have a tendency to stay secretive. Those born on this day despise confrontations and will hold their tongue to avoid an argument, realizing that the outcome or consequences could change their life, and hence are easily taken advantage of. They tend to offer your assistance to others in need but possess the ability to spread themselves too thin. It is essential for those born on this day to learn that they alone cannot save the world.
Gender :
Cis-Female
Appearance :
{ H A I R } - curly, blonde
{ E Y E S } - blue
{ H E I G H T } - 4 feet 5 inches (for now)
Personality :
+ Charming, Gentle, Logical
- Anxious, Immunodeficient, Shy
Special Talents :
Though Sophie has been living with Scout and Bay for about two years so far, Scout and Bay have yet to see any signs of powers or abilities from the girl, and it makes them somewhat relieved. Teddy’s journey to understanding his own capabilities was enough of a catastrophe, and the women have their hands full with Sophie’s medical concerns.
Due to a lack of care shown to the girl when she was a toddler, what started as untreated mold and dust allergies has since turned into a very serious immunodeficiency, and one of the most severe cases of asthma Scout and Bay have ever seen. They deal the best they can, and are lucky to be surrounded by friends and family who seem to always been around when they need someone to watch Teddy, but Sophie is constantly in and out of the hospital, whether its an asthma-related complication or another bout of tracheobronchitis or something in between. Sometimes the women doubt if they’ll ever be able to give Sophie what she needs.
What Sophie’s moms have yet to realize, though, is that Sophie’s constant ability to overcome any illness she comes down with isn’t just due to the miracle of medicine. There’s another factor in play, here, and that’s the “special talent” they keep attempting to search for, and never finding – Sophie has the gift of life preservation, and has been unknowingly using this power to keep herself alive for years.
Who They Like Better :
Ever since Scout first approached the young girl, it was obvious that Sophie was taken by her as much as she was taken by Sophie. It took time for the older blonde to get the younger to open up to her – and even required some telepathic conversation – but by the end of the day, Sophie was refusing to let go of Scout’s hand, and it’s practically been like this ever since. She loves both her mommies, of course, and is so grateful to them for all they do for her, but there’s nothing that can beat the appreciation she feels for Scout.
Who They Take After More :
Appearance-wise, Sophie actually looks a lot like Bay – the blonde curls, the blue eyes – and many are surprised when they hear that the child isn’t biologically related to Scout and Bay at all. In terms of personality, though, it seems as if neither of her mommies really have much of an impact. Their daughter is kind, and charming, but that’s about where the similarities end. Unlike Teddy or Maeve, Sophie is very quiet, and extremely shy. Scout has expressed concerns about this, and has suggested on more than one occasion that she wishes there was more they could do for the girl, but Bay has held steadfast in her belief that, eventually, when the girl wants to talk to them about her past, she will. Both women want nothing more than to give the child love and support, in the hopes that one day she will truly know how wanted she is.
Personal Headcanons :
The path to family is often lined with mishaps and misfortune, and it is no surprise that, for Scout and Bay, their unexpected “Happily Ever After” hasn’t always been a walk in the park. Of course, if you’d asked Bay about true love before she started at WDU, she probably would’ve laughed in your face. True love was a phase, a work of fiction, or at least, that’s what she believed.
And then she ran into Scout, or, Scout ran into her, and somehow their paths refused to untangle themselves. Friendship turned into flirtationship which then turned into something… else, but just when Bay found herself thinking perhaps this might all work, it all came crashing down.
Because Bay wasn’t the only one with love-related insecurities, and when the road seemed to finally flatten out, Scout took off.
To say Bay was devastated would be a vast understatement. She was crushed, and began to isolate herself from all of her friends. Months went by without even a word from the girl she’d fallen for, until one dark and stormy night when Lucky’s barking woke Bay up, and she opened her dorm room door to a shivering, soaking, traumatized, pregnant Scout, begging her for forgiveness. Bay couldn’t help but throw all of her anger out the window. She let Scout in, helped her change into warm, dry clothes, and the two of them talked, for hours, attempting to make sense of the mess they’d created.
Five months later, Teddy was born, and two years after that, Scout proposed. Their wedding was perfectly imperfect (it rained, there was almost a seating chart disaster – you know, typical them); Teddy was the cutest ring bearer and so well-behaved at the reception that Scout and Bay found themselves thinking the same thing: they wanted another baby.
But, as most things seem to go for these two, their path to a bigger family was far from conventional. Scout wasn’t in a place to carry another child quite yet, and Bay, they soon learned, couldn’t carry – so they were stuck.
To fill some of the void, and to help prevent abandoned and unwanted children in Buena Vista from suffering similar fates to her, Scout soon founded the Buena Vista Orphanage. It was about four years after it’s opening day – around the time the Teddy turned eight – that Scout met the small, malnourished, suffering six-year-old named Sophie, and instantly fell in love.
And so the family of three became four.
❛❛ treasure, that is what you are – Maeve Evelyn Pan.❞
Name :

{ E V E L Y N } - meaning “hazelnut”

April 23rd
Those born on April 23rd can be clever little dickens. This youthful trait is their trademark. They are also likely to have premonitions and tend to have great timing. The 23 April birthday personality is mysterious and imaginative. Those born on this day are likely to travel and make connections that are favorable with everyone they meet. They are capable of becoming someone who is responsible for influencing the lives of others. After all, it’s in their blood.. they belong in the family of Taurus the Bull.
Gender :
Cis-Female
Appearance :
{ H A I R } - wavy, light brown
{ E Y E S } - blue
{ H E I G H T } - 4 feet 9 inches (for now)
Personality :
+ Enthusiastic, Empathetic, Optimistic
- Cheeky, Impulsive, Restless
Special Talents :
Looking back on the year that Maeve has been a part of their family, it’s easy to pick up on the signs that Maeve possesses the ability to help others feel joy. The girl practically glows when she walks into a room, and never seems to have a frown on her face, but Bay and Scout are easily distracted, and with the constant attention required of them by Sophie, for a while, Maeve’s happiness inducement went unnoticed, or at least, to it’s full capacity. It was Suka, actually, who made the connection – they’d been called upon to babysit for Teddy and Maeve during a late-night hospital visit with Sophie, and Suka picked up on the young girl’s powers almost immediately. They informed Bay and Scout soon after that, and was enlisted by both women to help Maeve understand the full extent of her ability, on the off chance that her powers had similar downfalls to Suka’s, if they were pushed too far. Maeve has quickly grown attached to her Unty Suka.
It is important to note, too, that it is easy to see a difference in the family since Maeve has joined it. What once was scary and dark is suddenly less so, and the entire family has grown less anxious, none more than Sophie. Physically, the girl still suffers, but she is certainly warming up to the idea of family more, and it is without a doubt due to the happiness that Maeve somehow accesses within her.
Who They Like Better :
Maeve has a lot of love to give, and hence doesn’t like one of her mommies more than the other. They’re both kind, and warm, and silly. They give her hugs and kisses, they wrap her in fluffy towels after she takes a bath, and they always tuck her in at night, which is more than Maeve has ever received from caretakers before. And she loves her siblings, too – Teddy, who always loves to play dolls and trucks with her, and Sophie, who loves to color, and likes to listen to Maeve’s outrageous stories. So, yeah, if you were to ask her this question, she’d probably laugh at you, because, in a family where everyone loves her, how can she pick one?
Who They Take After More :
Appearance-wise, Maeve doesn’t really look much like Scout or Bay. Her skin is darker than both of theirs, and her hair matches Teddy’s more than anyone else’s. Personality-wise, though, she is perhaps the spitting image of her mommies, if not more energetic than either of them. She’s constantly excited, always on the edge of her seat, always wanting to move or play or explore. She loves the water, loves the earth, loves when Scout takes her flying – she just can’t seem to get enough of the world she’s been given, and Scout and Bay love it. They hope to show it all to her, one day at a time.
Personal Headcanons :
The first seven years of Maeve’s life were filled with inconsistency and constant turmoil, but you wouldn’t know it if you met her.
The daughter of a teen mom who was in over her head, Maeve was sent from house to house, from town to town, constantly attempting to shift and adjust to her new surroundings, only to be pulled out of them again.
It wasn’t that it was ever really her fault. She tried her hardest, in every home, with every family, to be kind and well-mannered and well-behaved, but she was easily excited, and overly clumsy, and calamity seemed to follow her, so most foster homes quickly attempted to pawn the girl off to someone else.
Eventually, the options were all used up, and Maeve found herself being dropped off by a social worker she could never really remember the name of in front of a large building with lots and lots of kids: the Buena Vista Orphanage.
It was less than a week after Maeve’s arrival that Scout and Bay took Sophie to say hello to some of the children she’d met during her time in the orphanage, and to check in on everything. It was Bay this time who locked eyes with the small ball of energy and fell in love. Somehow, she knew that Maeve was meant to be theirs.
And so the family of four became five.

Heyo! Im the one who was writing to you about muly tayama hc and i want to correct myself. Yama didnt blush at taichi in episode three, but in the snow scene. In three he blurted to him about his parents and ran away to play the harmonica. Sorry, my bad!
This is a continuation of this conversation, I love my followers and our ridiculously long conversations :P anyway the rest of their asks and my response are below
Hey, im the Tayama HCanon. thank you SO MUCH for your wonderfully detailed answer! i’ll tryexplaining myself a bit. I very much agree with your view on sexuality and mypersonal view is that people should just love whoever and not think abouttitles. And yes, if Taichi is in love with Yama and is attracted to him, thanhe is probably not 100% hetero. But reality is not always that simple, especially for men and especially for japanese men who have a lot of pressureto confirm to traditions and in japan there is much less awareness to differingsexualities than in the west. And while Taichi is not at all a simple person, Ithink he will have no reason to consider himself as anything but straight untilhe will have the first feelings of love for another man-who I can’t imaginebeing anyone else but Yama, but I think he can be slow with understanding thesekinds of emotions. I guess that what i’m trying to say is that in many ways,Taichi has a rather innocent, straightforward nature,so I think that it’s morethat he will simply lead a heterosexual lifestyle until he realizes it’s notwhat he needs, and not so much that he is actually straight. My reasoning foryama is trickier. He has always been one of the more mature characters in theseries, he has a natural tendency for introspection and he is the“rebel” and since I hc that he had those strong feelings for Taichifor a long time, I can imagine him becoming skeptical of social standarts.which leads to my hc of him being capable of having one-offs. if he had thosefeelings for Taichi for a long time and he never thought they’d bereciprocated, I can definately imagine him hooking up with people just for thesake of escapism/momentary comfort. it’s, unfortunately, a very commonbehaviour. it doesn’t mean he’ll be happy when it ends by extension, I also hcthat that’s the resason why he dated Sora. To try and be emotionally investedin somone else. As I said, I do see him as shy and an introvert, but also asmature and not meak. I do agree that it’s easier for me to see him havingcrushes on males more frequantly than on females. Ijust think he considers his bond with Taichi so much deeper and more specialthan anything else(barring gabumon) that he doens’t particulary care aboutanything else in comparison.
Yama is avery passionate and intense person, but also private so I think there is alotbeneath the surface of his shy and cool exterior that is hard to recognize atfirst. A side note on one-night stands: while I think it’s definately withinhis character to have ones, I don’t think he will talk about them or take pridein them. I’ll continue about his blushing in the next ask (god, this is long). Isee your point about shy/angry blushes, but ep 3 in01 does give us him blurtingto Taichi about his parents divorce and going mad red. I personally lump allhis blushes together, though. his cuteness prevents me from discriminating. Ifim not mistaken, in that scene with Jyou,he is blushing out of guilt,no? butTaichi and gabu are definately the only ones who get to see him cry. worthnoting that in tri., he didn’t blush when mimi teased him, but he did whenTaichi teased him in Loss.
My Response:
First off I apologize for getting back to you so late, andyou are very welcome for the previous detailed response. I love reading longand detailed posts and also really enjoy writing them myself 😊and I love my asks especially the long ones (though they take much longer torespond to)
Okay your explanation regarding Taichi and how you view himmakes a lot of sense. I don’t know much about the awareness of sexuality in theeast but I did read somewhere that because family is so important to the easternculture and homosexuals cannot have their own biological children (without surrogacygetting involved) that contributes to the homophobia in the east, vs here inthe west it has to do more with religion. I also read that in the east theytend to pretend like homosexuality isn’t a thing. Again though this is stuff Ihave read in passing and I do not live in any eastern countries so I cannotconfirm its validity.
You know how you said people should love who they love andnot worry about labels, I think that line applies to what you are saying aboutTaichi and his sexuality, like he wouldn’t care who the person was or whatgender they were, he would just love them and that would be that.
I understand your reasoning behind why you headcanon that Yamatois capable of one-offs but I still can’t headcanon it myself. Yamato seems likesuch a sensitive person and I feel like he would find sex to be a very intimateand meaningful thing and could never bare to do it with someone he wasn’temotionally invested in.
I really love your hc as to why Yamato dated Sora, I approveof this hc and it goes with my hc that Taichi was going to confess in theChristmas episode but thought better of it upon seeing Sora. I like the idea ofthese two secretly loving each other and thinking the other doesn’t. Although poorSora 😝 not that I care all that much lol
“I just think heconsiders his bond with Taichi so much deeper and more special than anythingelse (barring gabumon) that he doens’t particulary care about anything else incomparison.” – I think this goes very nicely with how they portray him in Tri,it really does make it seem like his eyes and thoughts are almost strictly onTaichi as if nothing else in the world at this moment really matters.
Also yes, there is definitely so much shit going on beneaththe surface of Yamato’s character.
Okay I have rewatched episode 9 (the snow episode I thinkyou are referring to) and I didn’t see any blushes except the one he has onwhen Taichi tackles him which I don’t think was a blush but like something else…I have no idea what I’m looking for here but I don’t think it was a blush… likea normal blush… gah I can’t explain it but it’s not a normal blush. But I couldbe missing one, also I know some of that episode was cut in the English Dubwhich was the version I re-watched.
Okay so in the Jyou scene I think he’s blushing because heis unsure of how to apologize… I don’t see how someone could blush out of guilt:S I mean I guess that’s a thing but it wouldn’t be my first choice.
Ha he totally did blush when Taichi teased him, I love it
Hey so I think I’ve got the Message Me up and working whichshould allow you and everyone else to send me long detailed stuff withouthaving to send it in a ton of different pieces so that should make thingseasier for you ^.^ looking forward to more asks from you and everyone else, it’sso much fun to read how everyone thinks of the characters.

This weekend I’ve been to my third Dutch Comic Con and it was once again a success. As usual I’m making a post covering both days, but anyone who follows my personal blog may have already seen the details below.
I am tagging this post so that people might be able to find photos of their own cosplay, or have made photos of me: please pop me a message! I can send full size photos out as well!
I was Mimi from Digimon, just like at Rotterdam Comic Con. I also added URLs to all my previous con experiences at the bottom.
Day one!
Travel aside, my first thing to do was visit Sean Maguire’s Q&A session. You know, freaking Robin Hood from Once Upon A Time! He answered a few questions he could answer, a few he couldn’t answer, and of course he was requested to sing.
Thank you Sean, ‘bear necessities’ has been stuck in my head during the entirety of that Saturday. The worst is that I did not have the original English version repeating itself in my head, but the terrible Dutch version. That was, of course, not the one he sung. Would have blown my mind away though!
It was a fun Q&A, but I had to leave my friend alone because she is still at S05E05 of Once Upon A Time, so as any Once fan knows, there are some heaaavy spoilers by now. After the Q&A my friend and I met up and went shopping, until I had to leave her alone again for the photo booth session.
The line took 30 minutes and I was shaking as soon as I saw less than 10 people in front of me in the line, and after I left the photo booth I was still shaking, except that I had now obtained a photo and was super happy with it. Sadly a photo only leaves option for small talk, such as Sean just asking me how I was doing and I returning the same question (and thanking him)... but that did allow me to not feel nervous about focusing on conversation. Also, that was some smooth leather he was wearing, haha.
The result of the photo was this.
Sadly the digital download costs an extra 8,50 euros on top of the 30 I paid for this photo (most actors ask this price). I am actually freaking amazed I wasn’t blushing like crazy, since as I already said I was shaking of being nervous. I had not met an actor before, you know.
Oh, whilst waiting in line for that photo, a friend of mine also found me and gifted me a key chain he found at a stand. I will post about that later. It is worth mentioning.
After the photo, my friend whom I went to DCC with and I went shopping again and made photos with cosplays. These are usually the two key activities at comic cons: shopping and taking photos.
I couldn’t find the Regina cosplay I saw post on Facebook, nor ANY of the World of Warcraft cosplays, but I did find a Hook cosplay! Sadly only a blurry photo.
I should have double checked the photos. I liked seeing Once cosplay (I saw few more through Facebook), I am sure it was because Sean came over. As for Sean, he also said it wasn’t the first time for him in The Netherlands, but considering the last time was like 18 years ago... yeah, doesn’t count. Sorry, I got distracted by the whole ‘I saw Sean!’ thing.
I also found Joel and Ellie!!!!!!
I love that they even thought of accessories and whatsoever. Joel carries a pipe, he’s got a backpack that you don’t see in the photo and Ellie’s holding the nail bomb. I really liked seeing this pair. I accidentally also carry an image in which Ellie was blinking, oops!
Lastly for Saturday’s cosplay photos, I took a photo with Ladybug.
This must’ve been one of the many Ladybug cosplayers from last year, when I was dressed as Ladybug too. For some reason she seems really familiar to me! I love to see that people still dress up as Miraculous Ladybug characters. It appears there was a Chat Noir somewhere too, but I missed it.
And that is it for Saturday, which brings me to merch.
So the gift I got from my friend was the Ladybug key chain below, since we’re on that subject. The gift that I got while waiting in line for Sean. I photographed it with another key chain.
My friend found the Ladybug key chain at a stand that I could not find myself after visiting all the stands. He said there were more I believe, and I really want to see the others, and I wanted to see if there was a Chat Noir one as well so I could use them together. Maybe next time, or maybe I stumble upon it online. I was so happy to get it though, I am sure he noticed how happy a silly little thing like that could make me smile like an idiot.
The key chain on the right is Sylvanas, which will be my first self-bought World of Warcraft merchandise now, hehe. I did consider buying a Murloc plush, but I realized ‘why the heck would I’ considering I don’t understand the whole joke around Murlocs. I’ve seen the music video, and I still don’t understand the joke. But that is me getting sidetracked.
As for the Ladybug one, I do have to show you what it looks like when you flip it, because it’s freaking clever.
Marinette and Tiki! Ahhh. I love double printed key chains. The Sylvanas one is not double printed, but I really wanted to purchase it anyway and it was the first item I purchased at DCC.
I even feared I would not find any other merchandise there at all, but then... the Funko’s appeared...
Lara Croft was the first I found. I had not seen it before other than the email I received about new Funko releases. I also was surprised to see that there were Pets Funko’s! These have been on my birthday wishlist since their release announcement, so I am happy I was able to add them to my collection.
I also found Once Upon A Time Funko’s, which means my Once collection is almost complete.
Belle and Zelena! I was actually super afraid of purchasing Belle as I was not sure whether I had her already, but thank goodness I kept track of my birthday wish list well: when I got home I saw I did not have her yet! Phew!
I must admit it felt wrong to purchase Zelena the same day I’ve stood side-by-side with Sean though, but I had to complete my collection. So now all I need is Regina with the fireball... until they release new Funko’s again. I actually heard this weekend that Rumplestiltskin is going to leave the Funko production and I am extremely surprised by this. Either he didn’t sell well, or he is going to become one of those rare expensive Funko’s. Hmmm.
I also saw the floofy bunnies again like the one I purchased in Rotterdam. The dark blue one and the deep purple one were trying to seduce me, but I resisted. I have yet to see if the floofs purchased from some Chinese website are the same ones, cause that’d be cheaper.
I did make a photo of the floofs.
The deep purple and dark blue ones were at a different stand, so these are not on the photo. The purple in this image is not the one I meant. My friend bought a gray one if I recall correctly. I too own a gray one, although I felt like it had some blue to it. My current headcanon is that these floofs could cause world peace if everyone owned one.
That’ll be it for Saturday, now off to Sunday.
Day two!
Upon entering the building I already saw someone I wanted to take a photo with - a cosplay of Alice Madness Returns, but not the usual common outfit or hysteria look (which are amazing as well, but I like variation).
It’s the dollhouse outfit and she even brought a large hobby horse! I loooove her skirt.
Other than that I also found a World of Warcraft cosplayer. It’s Tyrande.
Last year I would not have recognized a single (World of) Warcraft cosplay, haha. I started playing less than a year ago and I love seeing these people now. I also know I missed a Lich King cosplayer Saturday, but nothing I can do about it.
The next cosplay has a funny story, but was probably more amusing on the spot rather than written out here.
I was combing my friend’s wig after she finished applying make-up. She could not really see what it looked like from behind, so we stood in front of the mirror where she applied her make-up, and suddenly I gasp... and oh, I gasped LOUDLY.
What I saw in the mirror was a Fire Emblem Fates cosplay walk into the bathroom. It was Kaden, whom I refer to as ‘Vossenjongen’ (’fox boy’) ever since I started playing, and I gasped cause I never expected to find a Fates cosplay.
However, I was gasping whilst combing my friend’s wig, right? So the first thing she thought was ‘MY WIG’, fearing that I might have ruined her wig entirely, cause quite frankly why else would I gasp so loud all of a sudden. This Kaden cosplay and her friend (whose name is also Laura) were also afraid it had to do with the wig if I recall correctly, but I quickly pointed out it was because of Kaden (I believe the cosplayer’s name was Brenda, sorry if I am wrong - she’d be the first cosplayer whose name I actually remember so that is amazing enough).
So this what could have been terror ended up fun. I’ll show the photo now.
Kaden’s even got a tail and everything, I love it!
So that was the Kaden story, and how I almost made my friend’s chest implode of shock.
Back on the Alice Madness Returns rollercoaster (or the first game that I did not play), I found another cosplayer. This time it wasn’t Alice at all! It’s the Queen of Hearts, and look at her amazing hands that are creeping up on my shoulder!
I do hope I assumed correctly she’s from that game, but I find it very unlikely that she’s another character from some other media that happens to look so much like the Queen of Hearts, haha.
Lastly I found some Zootropolis Zootopia gems and some photo bombers.
Saw them wandering and knew what I had to do: run after them and take a photo. We look very colourful together, don’t we? Even the photo bombers splash in well. I fear I don’t know who they represent though, so I will call them Purple Person and Mr Pink. Apologies if I should have recognized what they are from.
That’s basically it for cosplay. There was an artist who had drawn herself in a Mimi cosplay though. That was really fun to see! She had a really nice art style. Downside was that she was selling buttons and posters, which are two things I don’t really invest in. I never know what to do with buttons; if she had charms or key chains like the two I purchased Saturday, that would have been perfect (she had a really nice Ladybug and Chat Noir button).
We also tried to find Sean again, but he wasn’t in his seat. He said Saturday during his Q&A it was okay to walk up to him for a hug and I figured I might as well do that, but when I saw a note saying ‘autograph 30 euros, selfies 15 euros’, I was afraid of waiting for him without any purchase at all. I just wanted to ask for a hug and ask him how his stay in The Netherlands has been, but for me it didn’t feel like it would be enough to stand in line for. Too bad, though.
Of course by the end of the event I did not find all the awesome cosplay I’ve seen on Facebook, but I am happy with the photos I took. I just can’t help but think ‘man, I wish I had seen them.’ Oh geez, I just remembered there was a Dirk Gently cosplay wandering around as well...
There was even a cosplay of a Dutch politician apparently, I laughed my freaking ass off when I saw this on Facebook. The name of the politician is ‘Jesse Klaver’ from the politician party ‘GroenLinks.’ This dude was always on TV it always seemed, and I am saying that as someone who is hardly invested in politics. Every time I saw my parents watch debates, I felt like he was always there.
I did bump into a friend whom I did not expect to be there at all on Sunday. Apparently he came to DCC, because you could play the new Fire Emblem game there. He is really excited about it, so that’s good news for the Fire Emblem fans out there. He posted about it on Reddit (he said something about AMA but I only just learnt what AMA means). Considering I don’t know his Reddit username, I can’t redirect anyone to it.
I did not buy merchandise on Sunday, but I did buy food. The salmon onigiri was gone before I could take a photo, but I did take a photo of these:
I never liked Pocky (don’t like the flavour of the sticks), but I figured I would give tiramisu flavour a chance. It appeared to be pretty good. Not sure if I’d really buy it again, but when offered to me I wouldn’t decline it.
As for the Pop Tarts, holy cow! Root Beer flavour? I have never thought this would exist! As a European (or at least as a Dutch person) I don’t exactly get in touch with Root Beer in the first place, nor with Pop Tarts... so this was a great find! They taste good as well. So far the red velvet Pop Tarts are my favourite. Ah, red velvet, also not that common here in my country. It’s trying to make a breakthrough though, as I seem to find red velvet themed things more often.
That summarizes another Comic Con. This time Dutch Comic Con. I had great fun.
Dutch Comic Con will always prove to be the best comic con in my country. I also figured that by now I might want to link to all my previous Comic Con experiences, mostly for myself.

I have been to Elfia in 2015, but I cannot find this post. I was Donna Noble and I actually had a really bad day, which is why I have never returned to Elfia.
