Some of my 1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen sims that I aged up and/or updated in the save I've been playing for 2 years (I think its that amount of time....the point is this is my main save for a long time). This is 27 out of 207 sims! And then there's another version of my simself in the last row (middle). 3 sims included here were made not born.

Get to know you - Sims Style

Thank you to @rstarsims3 for the tag! 😊 What’s your favorite Sims death? None, I never let my sims die anymore because I get too attached to them 😂

Alpha CC or Maxis Match? I prefer Maxis Match, but I don't mind throwing in a bit of Alpha here and there.

Do you cheat your sims weight? I've only ever made one of my female sims less buff, but she proceeded to get very buff again so I just left her.

Do you move objects? Yes, but mainly just decorations and things like that.

Favorite Mod? I don't really play as much anymore, so it's hard for me to tell but I definitely cannot live without NRaas Mods and LD's Smooth Patch that's for sure.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack? Probably the first EP that I actually wanted was either Generations or Pets, because my mom already had other ones that I wasn't interested in enough to remember (definitely Late Night though, I do remember one time randomly turning one of my mom's families all into vampires when I was like 7 or 8 😂).

Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing? aLIVE.

Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? My most favorite would be Mari Martinez, who was a gen 3 sim from my old legacy save from a couple years ago that I happened to really like. She went through a few changes though 👀 Left is how she is now and the right is her from the legacy save. The one on the bottom is her and her husband Enzo 🥰

I do love this family right above as well though, I used to play them a lot before and occasionally now 😄 Have you made a simself? I have, my profile pic is actually supposed to be me and my dalmatian dog Disney (who's passed on now). It doesn't really look like me at all though because my sim making skills are pretty bad and even the hair color is too light but you get the general look 😅 Which is your favorite EA hair color? I've always preferred brown hair, but I like any hair color.

Favorite EA hair? I like a lot of hairs, I don't know which one to choose from.

Favorite life stage? Young adult and toddler stage 😄

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? I'm actually more in it for the creation of mods hehe, but I do like to just sit and play sometimes, especially in TS2, and I do love building houses but mostly in TS2 as well because it does get a bit frustrating with TS3 and how laggy it can get with the create-a-style tool.

Are you a CC creator? I've made a few things here and there, so I guess so!

Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad? I have a couple friends, there's definitely a lot of lovely people here as well and if anyone wants to be my friend I'm open to it 😊 Do you have any sims merch? Sadly, no 😔

Do you have a YouTube for sims? I did once upon a time, it was mostly just me sharing my process of creating animations but I kind of just left it. How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing? When I first started playing probably over a decade ago I just used to create couples and make them have like 5 kids, then kick the kids out when they reached adults then make the couple have more kids and the cycle pretty much never ended 😂 Then I started to play more legacies and tried challenges, but as always I got too attached to my sims and I couldn't continue them. Then I got into making mods and so here I am, I don't really actually play much anymore. Who’s your favorite CC creator? I love most of the stuff from @xiasimla, @sim-songs, @johziii, @nectar-cellar and a few others.

How long have you had Simblr? I think 2 years now? I just used to lurk around and download CC at first but then I decided I wanted to post my things here too 😄

How do you edit your pictures? Sometimes I don't edit them, but if I do I use Photoshop to enhance the vibrance and add in a bit of depth of field. Though I've finally gotten reshade to work now so I probably won't edit them anymore.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite? My favorites are Generations, Pets, Seasons, Island Paradise and Master Suite Stuff. I'm sure most people have already done this but if you haven't then I'll tag you! 😄

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?  I used to use cc, so I suppose that's a pretty big change since I went cc free, other than that not much I don't think. I'm pretty influenced by the EA style of the basegame and early promotional sims.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? Don't really care to be honest I haven't got all the packs as it is and regret paying money for some of the ones I do have! I'd like it to be something weird and unexpected though.

1. What’s your favorite sims death? I don't have 1 in TS4 but in TS2 or maybe it was 3, I used to cheat the death by flies a lot.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Boffem. I prefer maxis type hair and alpha everything else.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? Nope, I like that they gain and lose weight. Especially after pregnancy.

4. Do you use move objects? Yes, I don't leave it on constantly though. Routing errors are annoying.

5. Favorite mod? If I have to pick just 1, I'd say MCCC. I literally cannot play my game without it. I also have sooo many mods by littlemssam, love them! Better Build/Buy and Better Exceptions are awesome as well.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? I was buying them in order so whatever the first EP was is the first one I bought.

11. What is your favorite EA hair color? Black. The middle red swatch has grown on me since Byron has filled my family with a bunch of red heads.

12. Favorite EA hair? I don't use the EA hairs that often. I have been using those ridiculous waves that came with paranormal activity lately as well as the locs.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay? Here for the gameplay. I have to be in the mood to build and even then it's a "build by reference" type thing.

15. Are you a CC creator? Nope, I convert hair to kids but that's for personal use. I don't think I'm as good at converting MM hair since the forehead and stuff is included. I've made poses and recolors in the past though.

17. What’s your favorite game? TS4 is what I play most often. I love love loved RE8. Only game I've ever replayed multiple times.

What’s your favorite Sims death?

In Sims 2, the satellite death and death by flies. I used those constantly.

In Sims 3, the meteor death (obviously) and the time sickness death. The meteor one because of how devastating it is while still making your surviving Sims a shit load of money and the time sickness one for how existentially horrifying it is. You just get Marty McFly'd right out of reality! 😱 I haven't had a Sim die that way when it wasn't on purpose and I'm willing to bet not many other Simmers have either. It's a pretty rare death.

In Sims 4, it's the pufferfish death and the Rabid Rodent Fever death. So visceral and mildly disturbing! When Sims 4 gets it right, it gets it right!

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

Alpha hair in Sims 3 because it's an absolute necessity, but I don't mind most of the EA clothes so I guess that's Maxis Mix?

When I played Sims 4, I was Maxis Match all the way except when it came to makeup and skin details.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Not as much as I cheat their muscle slider. I find it preposterous that a Sim with no muscle definiton can go for one jog and come back shredded. I am constantly cheating their muscle mass back down to a more realistic level.

Do you move objects?

Of course, how do you live without that? In fact, I even have a button on my gaming mouse programmed to it.

Favorite Mod?

The transmogfrifer mod by icarus_allsorts and the stencil remover by velocity grass. I use these so much, I forget they're not naturally in the game.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

Like, the first one ever? Sims 2 University. I played Sims 1 back in the day but I never had a single expansion pack for it. I didn't even know what expansion packs were until Sims 2.

Both. 🫣 I don't know which way is the "official" way, so I just alternate my pronunciation depending on what feels right at the time.

In Sims 3, you don't have to use swatches for hair so I almost never use the premade ones. However, there is a nice deep reddish brown that I quite like. I use it as a base frequently.

Most of the Sims 3 EA hairs are horrible even with retextures, so...none lol.

About...a year? I don't actually know. I've been on Tumblr in the past, though I left around 2015-2016, but I never dove into the Simblr community. @happy-lemon talked me into starting a Simblr and I'm so glad she did!

I don't edit my pictures all that often because I do not know what I'm doing. I use ReShade and if I need to make minor edits, I'll do so in Paint.NET like a pleb.

Sims 2: Open For Business. In fact, it's my favorite expansion of all time.

Sims 3: It changes often but it's Ambitions right now. There's so much in Sims 3 to love!

What’s your favorite Sims death?

I play Sims 3 the most so I'll answer it for that one. There are so many cool deaths in Sims 3, unfortunately I only experienced a few and in those my favourite is definitely the meteor one. I got this only one time in my 10+ years of playing. I remember it like yesterday, I had just made a new sim, was planning on playing a legacy and sent her to university. I shit you guys not she got hit by a meteor on her first class activity. As that was my only sim, the game was over xD

Alpha CC or MaxisMatch?

Ahh, hard to answer. You kind of have to go with Alpha hair in Sims 3. I remember I used a lot of Alpha cc for sims 2 back in the day. Before MM was this popular. I really do not like alpha cc in clothes for Sims 3 though. I guess a bit of both?

Do you cheat your sims weight?

I never actually felt the need to do that. I personally like exercise and my sims usually are on the active side as well and they keep good shape. I certainly don't mind seeing sims who are a bit on the heavier side around town.

Do you move objects?

Probably not as often as other simmers, tbh. I do build but I don't like clutter. If I feel the need to use it I will, but it doesn't happen often.

Favorite Mod?

Definitely Nrass MC. It just makes it so easier to fix some of the quirks this game can have. Also being able to just makeover townies, is a must for me. Even though I carefully select my randomizable outfits I'll still take them to cas for a touch up.

First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?

Ah, hard to remmeber. I think I had open for business in Sims 2 as my first expansion but the first one I specifically saved up money for was Late Night for Sims 3.

Hmm, there was this hair mutation my only 4 generation legacy had. It was a very nice shade of blonde, I liked that.

For Sims 2, harder to choose. I love all these ( 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 ) my favourite is gonna be the Bella hair.

Favorite life stage?

Always gonna be YA. In every iteration. Loved university stuff in Sims 2 and I love that stage in all other games.

Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

Well, I like building the lots my sims play in. A lot of the cc lots out there have too much clutter and I do not like clutter. Whenever I download a lot I'll end up deleting all those decorations anyway so why bother. Adding the fact that I'm an architect in RL, I just notice, specially in residential lots, some no-no's we were thought in school.

Short answer is, I build them for myself to play in and share just in case if people would like to add my things to their games.

Are you a CC creator?

I haven't dabbled with creating meshes but did some recolours, tattoos, lots or whatever. Am I a cc creator tho? Nah, I just share the stuff I make for myself.

Sim Squad? No. Simblr friends? I would like to think, yes. I consider people I chat regularly under posts as my simblr friends :D

How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I am in more control of the town but less in control of my sims these days if that makes sense? I try to do what they would wish to do and leave certain things to their autonomy.

What’s your origin id?

Do not use origin. I have the games on discs and I created their disc images long time ago. I use the no-disc crack for them now as I couldn't set the disc image to work for Sims 3 on this laptop.

Who’s your favorite CC creator?

I do not have that much cc for sims 3 but first people that comes to my mind are @sweetdevil-sims and @simlicious. Love their edits to simple maxis clothes and simlicious' patterns. They are out of this world in quality! looking at @aroundthesims for some objects I find myself looking for also.

How long have you had simblr?

I think I have been sharing my lots on @simsitecture since 2017 but haven't interacted with the community much back then due to my main blog being something else. I changed this blog to be a simblr I think about a year ago and since then I've been more active here.

How do you edit your pictures?

I have a few actions for brightness and saturation in PS. I use those on images I think that are too dark etc. Nothing else.

What expansion/ gamepack is your favorite?

Sims 2: Nightlife

death by flies. the thought of being picked apart into nothing is so deathmetal. i've always been partial to some body horror, i never kill my sims off though <3

alpha all the way! i like to incorporate some maxis-match, but i just can't really vibe with the plastic-y aesthetic of ts4.

absolutely not! i wish more of my sims were fat, actually. i love different bodyshapes (and it's the one thing that annoys me about ts2).

sims 3 showtime! i got it before getting the base game because i didn't know you needed the base game. i remember watching quxxn and falling in love with it. still my fave expansion (yes i know it's shit)

tbh i've never felt connected to any sim i've made. i made a legacy save in ts3 that got lost to corruption and just struggled to form connections to my sims ever since (there's something to unpack there). premades are safe because i know the game won't swallow them whole i guess.

nope! i just don't think it'd fit. my ex-gf used to make me in the sims 4 and pose us together! she's probably drowning me in pools now though.

i'd say i care less about a sim being pretty. sims 3 sims were hideous, and i'd always edit them. but, with ts2, i kinda love how unhinged sims can look. so, even with strangetown, i wanted the sims to have unique features (circe's asymmetrical grin!). i love the genetics system.

clip studio paint! i just add scanlines and a vignette. my reshade does the heavy lifting tbh. though, i'm trying to get pretty screenshots without it rn; my graphics driver is acting up and reshade isn't working for me.

in terms of existing packs? none. i like all the stuff i have now.

ABOUT ME =

I am a very chill and relaxed person. I often keep to myself a lot but have recently started to open up more and am attempting this thing called socializing lol. So I've been playing Sims since a few months after the Sims 2 came out. They actually sold it at the school book fair that year and after seeing a friend of mines install it on a school computer, I was hooked. Been a fan ever since. I own 2, 3, and 4 (though now that 4 is free to play now that doesn't mean much to say you own it but I did get it for free back when they gave it out for free). I actually haven't played Sims 4 due to not having a compatible pc for it so me and my dinosaur pc has be thriving playing Sim 2 & 3. I've also played spin offs. The Urbz for the ds was pretty good. I owned Sim City for the ds for a while but got bored with it real fast. Same with Sims 3 for the DS. I preferred the pc version. I did play the Sims 2 DS version a relative had and it was pretty good though I never got to finish my save.

My earliest memory? This would be the weekends where made a Sims 2 neighborhood from scratch by stealing the lots from the base game neighborhoods and then I made all the families myself. Made about 6 or 8 families before playing them rotationally. Didn't even know that was a thing at the time and my rotations were sporadic. But that was some of the best fun I ever had. I made little storylines to go with the families in a notebook and also used the notebook to record the days spent in the rounds. Though at this time I made things complicated and tracked the rounds by their ages and not the days lol. It wasn't until a few weeks after that I would discover the amount of lore the game has and custom content. The amount of hours spent reading lore posts and downloading cc would be time well spent lol. I absolutely love the creativity the community has grown to become.

So about this blog? It's something I've been wanting to do for a while but life hasn't been the best for me to really dedicate time to a blog or getting to even play. At first, I just made this account to lurk. But now, I really just want a place to share my gameplay among those who will appreciate it. 😅 I don't have many people I can actually talk to about sims who genuinely seem interest and not just being nice about my excessive sims chatter. So here I am lol. Hopefully this blog journey lasts. But more importantly, I hope I can just have fun sharing and creating sim memories within the community. I think that's about it lol. Meet the Creator!

Hi guys, so I thought I would formally introduce myself to everyone who follows and let you get to know me as a creator and simblr blogger (I run @thealbionroyals and @montaseulroyalsims) I have asked a few friends for questions so here goes!

My Simself ^^

Q. What’s your name and where are you from?

So I’m called Shannon Jade, and I often try to go as Shannon Jade for any official documentation but many people just revert to calling me Shannon. I mostly do this because I’ve been in a situation where three people I worked with were called Shannon. I’m from Yorkshire, but I did live in London for over a year before that.

Q. What do you do?

At the moment, unfortunately I got made redundant from my position. I have worked in travel for the majority of my life, and 2020 has brought a lot of hardships to that industry. Before my previous job I used to work as a Cabin Crew member for a major airline and absolutely loved it. It is probably the only job I would go back to, but once my health allows it. My licence to fly last 5 years after I stop flying, so I’ve got 3 more years left!

Q. When did you start making CC?

I remember starting CC quite a while back, but not good cc. I was more or less messing around with blender and hairstyles at one point and I did make a few hairs that worked, but I’ve since forgotten how to do all that. Recently I’ve been doing poses, as it’s a good way for me to get familiar with blender and then I started making dresses and clothes- however I don’t like half of these now. I still need to get better at doing weights on dresses, so they actually work good in game. Now, I’m enjoying my creative journey making jewellery. It’s honestly so relaxing, especially when it works in game.

Q. What got you into the sims world?

I honestly think it was my mum, she used to play sims one when I was little. So naturally I played it too. I played Sims One for years before Origin released the entire collection of Sims 2 for free. So I got that and found is so much easier! I remember finding out that sims could age and I was like ‘WOW Sims One could never’. But I probably fell head over heels with Sims 3. I had more time playing that as when I got sims 2, Sims 3 had just been announced. I do miss Sims 3 so much! It had so much to offer.

Q. If you have to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

That’s actually quite hard for me, I think I would say ‘Loving, Sleepy, Dedicated’ I think. My boyfriend agreed with me, so there’s that!

Q. What is your favourite type of CC to create?

I honestly love doing rings more than anything. They’re so easy to make and they are just so classy too! But I like to make CC that matches, so currently I’m working on a Sapphire collection that has earrings, necklaces and a ring. I also like creating outfits cc, but I rarely do that now since I’m so in love with accessory making.

I’m honestly so in love with my Fringe Earrings, they’ll be coming out soon!! ^^

Q. When not playing Sims, what would you be doing?

At the moment I am doing course work for a Teaching Assistant course. But once that’s over, in my spare time I would be probably be playing games or creating. I also like to draw too, I’m a digital artist and I have drawn quite a few things in my time doing that. I also write out stories, so I have a google doc sheet that is full of different ideas for stories that I want to write if I ever get the time to.

Q. What games do you play?

Okay, so this changes depending on the mood I am in. I obviously play The Sims Franchise. But outside of that, I play a game called 7 Days to Die (Probably the only game I have that is about zombies.. I don’t usually play fps too). Other than that I play Pokemon with my boyfriend and Animal Crossing. Let me see what my most hours are on in my steam library... that is Planet Zoo! Another game that I absolutely love to go into sandbox mode and create a zoo, I’m not that good at it though! 

Q. What inspires you to create CC? 

Anything can inspire me. I could be watching tv and see a piece of jewellery like and be like ‘yep. I’m going to create that!’. At the moment I am very much inspired by Princess Diana, her fashion was iconic and I wish to replicate that in my custom content!

Q. What’s the most difficult part of CC making?

So what I find most difficult depends on the type of cc. For jewellery I find getting them to be low poly the most difficult thing, then after that is is uv mapping- because earrings and rings have such a small uv map area! I also find necklaces really hard to create. For dresses and clothes I find actually find the weights the most difficult and I still don’t 100% understand them. Then for poses, making the poses is the most difficult thing! But I do enjoy a challenge. 

Q. What made you start a royal simblr? 

So I originally had a simblr when I was a flight attendant. I left that job back in 2018 so I probably started that in the October or November of 2018. It was a royal simblr but there was hardly anything for them cc wise, there was only a few tiaras but nothing like what we have today. What inspired me was basically me having a royal family save already. When I came back to it in 2019, I completely started afresh. I think then there was a few more royal simblrs, and they kind of got me back into it. I think I have grown so much since the original account, as I used a lot of alpha hairs and it just doesn’t match my playstyle today!

And I wish I could have better building skills (I used to do a lot of decorating when I played the sims 3 but I guess my play style has changed quite a bit) AND editing because I do suck haha.

ARE YOU A MERMAID: I wished I was one when I was very young, but now, I’m terrified of the deep sea. So no ;-;

YOUR PLAY-STYLE: Regular gameplay and the occasional challenge. I struggle to stick to one save/family for too long, though.

YOUR FAVOURITE HOLIDAY: Spooky Day? Even though it’s not a default holiday in the game, I think a lot of people make it and I always have it in my new saves.

HOW WAS YOUR DAY: Spent the first half of my day binge watching Brooklyn 99, and then I spent literally the rest of my day playing Stardew Valley with my partner. So it was pretty good!

YOUR FAVORITE CAREER: I’m not actually sure I have a favourite yet? Any active career I suppose.

YOUR FAVORITE ASPIRATION: Grilled. Cheese.

YOUR FAVORITE PACK: MAYBE Realm of Magic simply because I have a deep love for witches and magic, even if it’s not often a main part of all my saves. The CAS items and objects were actually pretty good imo.

HOW OLD IS YOUR SIMBLR: I think this blog is about 5 months old now? I had a previous one that’s a bit older, perhaps a year old by now.

PROPOSE A CRAZY SCHEME: Idk man I’m not a very creative person but I’m tempted to start an actual legacy that’s just gameplay and generations soon. ._.

BEST PART OF SIMBLR: Seeing everyone’s different Sim styles, their takes on pre-made families/sims, how they like to play the game and just how people can share their gameplay without being judged (for the most part).

WORST PART OF SIMBLR: The very few people in this community who try to drag others down for silly things, the “elitist/entitled” players, and people who get off on sending anonymous hate to people. Really makes me sad to see.

By comparison, my build and buy folder for Mimic is 24GB whereas my CAS folders are only 11GB combined (yes I know I have a lot of cc). Do You Wanna Date My Avatar? || Simself || So this is my simself I redid MONTHS ago, and tbh I’d like to redo her again with my new style lol I think she actually looks a lot like me, but there’s always room for improvement!

The Face That Fills My Dreams || Favorite OC || Obviously Haven. I literally see her in my dreams I’m not kidding. I love this bitch so damn much she completely changed me not only as a writer, but as a person. Find you a character that changes your outlook on life, that’s Haven for me. It ain’t WWJD it’s WWHD (what would Haven do)

#RelationshipGoals || Favorite Couple || WAVEN! WAVEN! WAVEN! This couple means so much to me. I dedicated pretty much all my time to these two. They’re my favorite couple I’ve ever written, and the only couple I not only want to continue writing after they get together, but follow them through the rest of their lives and journey together. They’re the perfect couple in my eyes and I genuinely fear I’ll never love a couple as much as I love them.

My Spot || Favorite Place in Game || Ya bitch loves Sulani. I wish I actually played the game and managed to really see Sulani for what it was, but the time I spent there I loved. The shoot I did of Haven was one of my favorites!

From The Ground Up || Favorite Build || Haven’s room is probably what I’m most proud of. I dabbled a lot in building and decorating this year, but nothing has made me so proud than her room. Even now I’ve been using a lot of builds by other creators because I can never fully capture what I want to, except for Haven’s room. It’s such a representation of her and I fucking want it to be my room god damn it.

Let’s Celebrate! || Favorite Holiday || So I’ve never really done holidays or seasons in my stories before, and I just started with these past few posts of the fall season. I just posted my scene for the day before Thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas was so much fun! I’ll be doing a small time skip with a montage of the holiday festivities of the Morris’ and Bradley’s and I can’t wait! I also just love Kirby and Maddie in this shot, as both of those are dogs I’ve had (Maddie is still alive and kickin it tho) and it really shows their personalities even though they never knew each other in real life.

Your Dark Side || MM vs. Alpha || So I’m an alpha bitch and I always will be, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love MM. It brings out a new side of me creatively that I love to mess with. I think it’s obviously that my MM sims are made by a primarily alpha simmer, but it’s still so fun!

WTF?! || Favorite In-Game Outtake || I don’t play much in game but I got this shot of River dancing from the last scene and he just looks SMOKIN’.

Never Released || Favorite Never-Before-Seen Screenshot || I had my !future Waven kick and I took some shots of them I wanted to use for after they got married. I loved editing this shot of their hands with their wedding bands. Tbh Wade is the one in the relationship that started doing everything with his left hand just so people would ask about his wife LMAO boy’s wanted to marry her since they were kids

Treat Yo’Self! || Fave CC Creator || I’m an alpha hair and preset SLUT, Haven is made with mostly presets, and I loved this hair by @antosims so much I changed Haven’s hair mid-scene lol, and the retextures by @shimydim literally save my life.

Competitive Spirit || Favorite CAS Challenge || I LOVED making over my old sims, and Sawyer here was my absolute favorite to do. I think she’s so gorgeous but at the same time still looks like her original self even though she’s completely different. She’s so pretty I only changed her lip shape a tiny bit and everything else was skin details.

Sharing Is Caring || Favorite Collaboration || My favorite collaboration is absolutely any Havinch scene I do with @cosmosim! Finch is such an important part of my story and Haven’s arc, and his friendship has had such a big influence on the plot. Our roleplays get a little crazy sometimes LOL but they are always fun and such a great way for us to connect our characters. One day me and Grace will write a canon couple that will actually end up together cause tour characters always have such amazing chemistry.

I loved loved LOVED this challenge and really encourage everyone to try it!
