I actually drew this before a lot of the recent stuff I've been posting; it was just me trying to figure out a good redesign for vox. I might make a proper redesign explanation later, but here are some quick notes while I'm still playing with it:

vox trapzod and alastor trongle :)

^^ ok but unironically this was kind of a hard decision since I have mixed feelings about vox's body type

stuff I was considering:

1) vox is alastor's foil and has a similar body type to alastor at least in part because you're supposed to be comparing them (It's actually so cool cause I was watching TB Skyen's reaction to ep 2 and he immediately predicted that they would have beef lol)

2) tumblr sexyman bod <3

3) I LOVE @/bestosunglass' way of drawing him, and it made me realize that I kind of love the idea of vox being a little bigger than alastor? it's very big himbo puppy + lithe cat energy

4) not sure what my headcanons about vox's body are in terms of biological vs tech yet, but I think I want to lean toward tech (which is customizable)

I love the angst concept of vox having the freedom to change his body with relative ease, which makes him feel like he has to constantly update and update and update and update and update and it's never good enough because he could always change something and he'll never quite be good enough--

basically being a victim to his own progress-oriented mindset

and also treating himself like a product; if it's not working, if it's not the best, newest model, then it's broken and useless and disposable

tbh alastor's ability to find beauty and art in the old (not necessarily based on function, but on character and care) would be good for him

ooc or not, as someone with dysmorphia issues myself, I really want an "I like your body because it's yours" moment from alastor

I think all of that + toxic masculinity would probably mean vox would make himself comically buff (at least at first) lol

5) but I like drawing him kinda scrawny ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's just weird because I kind of want to audience to pick up on the fact that he's not actually hypermasc but vox would totally (mostly successfully) broadcast that to the characters in the show

6) I think a trapezoid is a good shape for him! it contrasts well with alastor being a kind of sly and striking triangle shape. trapezoids are more interesting and dynamic than rectangles, but are still more stiff and business-like than triangles (p sure I am completely misunderstanding shape theory here but it makes sense to me lmao)

vox is such a mess of vibes? like he's a cult leader he's a televangelist he's a hypnotist he's a business shark he's a tech CEO he's a newscaster he's a TV he's a computer he's a literal shark he's a mastermind he's a pathetic fanboy

still not sure which of those is the most important/what should be obvious in his design

obsessed with the concept of TV knobs as buttons but it's kind of old fashioned

I headcanon him as having been a nerdy kid that got kicked in the shins for being obsessed with TV/tech lol

also hc him as being vaguely and very obliviously transfemme; the buffness can also be overcompensating for a lack of masculinity both physically and mentally

being the eldest of her generation in the black family, she thinks of herself as in charge of carrying on family traditions/values/social status, even more so than the actual heir (sirius)

also thinks she should be the heir instead and portrays a lot of masculine behavioural traits to show she could be a better heir (agression, assertive, self reliant, emotional restraint, protecting her younger sisters, etc.)

she had a few mental health problems but azkaban affected her severely (she couldn't remember much about andromeda, including what she looked like, she became much more volatile and violent, and began to think of following voldemort as the only thing that mattered anymore)

when sirius was a kid she enjoyed how he seemed to look up to her and she liked playing pranks with him and stuff whenever she was around. however, she didn't like regulus as much since he was quiet and relied on others to defend him, so a lot of her pranks would be aimed towards him

narcissa was both parent's favourite but bellatrix was walburga and orion's favourite of their nieces

lucius is one of her closest friends and had been since hogwarts

narcissa was always quite pressured by voldemort and other death eaters to join but both bellatrix and lucius made sure she didn't and stayed safe

My LJ follows pretty much canon? With the exception of the motive behind the death of Isaac

My LJ recognizes the concept of death, he knows what it is and he understands things like grief and depression exist, but they have never experienced them, because she's around a child who searches for the good in everything!!

Until Isaac is sent to boarding school, and this time he lets LJ roam around the house, but asks that he stays in his room whenever his parents are home

LJ abides by this rule for the first couple of years, but grows impatient and tired of staying in the boring room. So she ventures out.

LJ knows what Isaac's parents are like. They've seen it firsthand the abuse and damage that his mother and father did to Isaac, and he quickly realizes where it stems from.

Isaac's father is a drunk, LJ frequently watches from the shadows as he beats on his wife, drinks himself to sleep, comes home late, and repeats this cycle. LJ feels nothing as she watches this, however. She doesn't have any idea how to feel.

It isn't until a few days before Isaac returns home, that LJ feels it. That awful twinge in her chest that makes her feel this buzzing under her skin. Watching Isaac's father only makes the buzzing louder and worse. So they go back upstairs.

Isaac comes home, LJ is ecstatic, watching him exit his car, but he's stumbling, and he walks around to the other side and pulls a girl out.

I'm getting rid of the "Isaac murders a girl for not sleeping with him". Villain or not that's fucking disgusting. /gen

She's already dead by the time he got home with her. LJ is hiding in their box, waiting to surprise Isaac when they see him start to pull the girl apart.

LJ gets out quietly, asking what Isaac is doing. Isaac doesn't look at her, just says "This is that bitch that recommended me to go to that damn school."

LJ notices the scars on Isaac's arms, but doesn't say anything. That buzzing twinge is back, threatening to escape from her skin, she doesn't know what she's angry at, but she's angry at something.

LJ asks if Isaac is having fun, and he gets an enthusiastic yes. So LJ wants to have fun too!! After all, they like what he likes.

So LJ goes downstairs and grabs Isaac's father. She lays him out on the floor of Isaac's room and begins to cut into him.

Isaac snaps out of his trance when he hears his father yelling. He finally notices LJ, having thought she was just another voice. Scared shitless, he backs against the bed where the body he was carving was. His father is still screaming.

LJ continues to dismember the father alive, giggling with glee as his screams are becoming weaker by the minute. She looks to Isaac for reassurance, and as their eyes lock, LJ feels a new emotion.

Fear.

Isaac is looking at them like they were wrong. LJ let go of the limb that was now detached and let it fall into the pool of blood underneath the wound. They called Isaac's name, and was immediately met with pain blooming in his face.

The wooden toy bounced off the floor and down the hallway, having smacked and bounced off of LJs cheek. They lift their hands up off of his dad, rolling their tongue around in their mouth to check for damage.

Isaac screams, asking what LJ thinks she's doing, and that's not even funny. Just like that damn cat they killed and got blamed for. Isaac became enraged, launching off the bed and trying to hit LJ once more.

LJ caught his fists, digging their claws into his hand and making him bleed. They leaned in close, and in all their newfound anger and fear, they whispered something to him

"Why don't we see who gets blamed for this one then?"

LJ doesn't know where she's going, but she can't stay there. Not after what she did. She mourns the boy she cared for, despite being his end.

They escape into an abandoned lot just down the road. Their only possession is her box and a small wooden train.

The shadows begin to move, they concentrate into a small figure in the corner. It's weak, LJ can tell, and it beckons LJ closer.

It begs LJ to use their newfound freedom and unstoppable urge for violence to get it food. Souls.

LJ doesn't know the first thing about killing they just know that Isaac is dead and it's their fault.

"WHAT IF IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE? WHAT IF YOU COULD HAVE MORE FRIENDS THAN YOU KNOW BECAUSE YOU APPEARED LIKE MAGIC TO KIDS IN NEED?"

Obsessed with your hc that they all have their own unique braid pattern and Stoick does it for trans girl hiccup like it legitimately making me tear up 😭 but do you have any more tgirl hiccup trans hc? Hiccup is always kinda seen as trans masc, which yeah look at him but hardly transfemme

i do! actually, i’m working on a fic right now where i explore more tgirl hiccup and how that changes her sense of self and relationship to others. though, it’s a bit more exploratory and not as chronological as my other httyd wip, which is a canon-divergence exploring a “what-if” where hiccup doesn’t grow up on berk and is trying to find his mom, but somehow ends up in berk anyway to end the war… but i digress!!!

So here are some assorted thoughts for you :D

i do think tgirl hiccup still has stubble (she doesn’t shave every day, though it does depend on whether she can handle the sensory experience that day). In part it’s because there’s less stigma about it; i dont think berkian society cares much about girls having facial hair so long as whatever hair does exist is well-kept, and whoever that hair belongs to is alive. And if anyone says otherwise, then snotlout and the twins are there to kick their teeth in. And also because facial hair and body hair in general are just parts of our bodies and i like being able to include that…! she also has arm hair, at least the bits that survive the forge.

Initially hiccup grows her hair out, enough to put it in a ponytail, but at least by the time httyd2 rolls around it’s back to being shoulder length/short again. Long hair does not make for fun flights, as it turns out, because her hair gets REALLY tangled. Even though Astrid is very handy with a comb. And her fingers.

gothi gets this girl on estrogen. with the help of strategically placed padding/armor and the lean muscle she’s built up flying toothless, hiccup slowly begins to fill out, though she’s still scrawny and gangly and a toothpick

I think by virtue of living with a single dad (and a gobber)(lord. stoick and gobber’s bromantic/homoerotic relationship is a post for another day), Hiccup already knows how to do what are considered “womanly” chores. That being said, she isn’t particularly extraordinary at any of them — she doesn’t have Snotlout’s proficiency with needlework nor Tuffnut’s cooking skills, lacks Astrid’s finesse with laundry and Ruffnut’s clever compositions with kennings, and certainly can’t match up to the way Fishlegs manages little ones. Which is fine — her skills lie elsewhere, in the forge and with dragons. At least she can cook a decent enough meal for her and her father and Gobber, and that’s enough for their little family.

Toothless was told first and he also knew first. They’re two halves of a whole, not-so-much a girl and a dragon as they are a single entity, a We, and i think toothless would also trans his gender in solidarity/kinship but hiccup shakes her finger and is like You and I both know damn well you feel like a boy. and he’s like (chuffs)(human gender is stupid… how limiting !). One day he will be able to communicate the nuances of dragon gender to his stupid human. But for now, Hiccup will call Toothless a “boy,” and that is the limits of human language.

Charlie, being a polymorous himbo, likes to think he’s in a harem anime and attempt to flirt like a true Casanova; While some like the cut of his jib, most of the time he gets slapped around like it’s an episode of Johnny Bravo, as you can see from the above entry… Allan is definitely an Instagram model, he gets annoyed when his friends occasionally photobomb his shoots.

Whenever Glep’s tablet is charging he actually goes outside and plays like a good little critter…just kidding, he actually just uses his phone until THAT needs more juice and his tablet’s fully charged. Rinse and repeat, baby! Until that day where Alan took pity on this 1000+ y/o IPad baby and made him go on a convoluted scavenger hunt to find his devices. In response to this kindly deed, Glep MOD’ed Alan’s computer so that whenever it booted up, it would play the famous RickRoll in its entirety without skipping or pausing (Alan could kill Glep now).

Charlie definitely plays Baldur’s Gate 3.

Pim dresses up like a little magical girl-style cupid on Valentine’s Day (with fluffy wings, frilly white dress with bows and a heart brooch) to make couples and singles alike smile, he continues to be lauded by the public to be the absolute cutest thing on the planet earth even when he accidentally shot one of his arrows into Mr. Frog’s window. Mr. Frog resisted the urge to chase the little pink bastard down the street in a fit of primordial rage had it not been for his fear of being cancelled again.

these are mostly going to be ruikasa because i'll be honest. they're the ones i think about the most. if you couldn't tell...

tsukasa: -transkasa real.. -he's bisexual. makes it 2x funnier when i draw him saying he's not gay (it's true to me). -he's really strong, but he doesn't build muscle very visibly, so he looks slim/limber. not really a headcanon as of whenever the mr showtime live was, but he's stupidly flexible. -he has a mullet to Me. (i am projecting) -sharp canines... -his eyes are more red than orange. -he actually has a really good poker face. -adhd -he has a hard time falling asleep, but once he's out, he is OUT.

rui: -doesn't really confine himself with gender labels. or sexuality labels. but he'll call himself gay because it's funny. -you guys know but. chubby rui real. -i always slap that blue gradient on his hair so he's less ugly (thank you to my friend kade for drawing him like that first). -he can sleep pretty much anywhere if you let him. -paints his nails (i usually draw them black). -his hair is long enough to put in a short ponytail. -autistic -he gets along with saki very well. -he smiles when nervous.

ruikasa (together..): -rui likes to poke fun at tsukasa's quirks, but if he knows it's something he's genuinely self-conscious about, he won't say anything. -tsukasa will steal rui's clothes but then complain about his fashion choices. -they're both annoyingly clingy (tsukasa denies this). -tsukasa's the type of guy to go "hey rui we should practice kissing. for shows. in case we need to kiss for a role. not related to anything else." -tsukasa fell first, rui fell harder. -tsukasa starts to put a lot more effort into his lunches when he realizes that rui is always mooching off of him (true love).

ok here's some other, misc prsk headcanons. i don't think about the other characters As Much as these guys, but they still plague my brain.

I'm so so insane about Barok van Zieks and the topic of identity.

He is born into a highly regarded noble family, his name is well-known and therefore must be well-kept. He is seen as "the little darling" of the family, an adoring moniker that surely comes from somewhere, and one wouldn't want to lose that favor, right? Barok grows up looking up to his older brother and strives to become a prosecutor just like his "guiding light."

But Klint dies and Barok steps into his footsteps to avenge him, wearing his badge instead of his own. Time goes on and the people begin to call him the Reaper and he accepts the name and its burden because it helps protect a city that hates and fears him in return.

For ten long years, he is lied to and used as a scapegoat, he is victim to his own grief and festering hate; he is still wearing Klint's badge because he doesn't let go of him and instead chooses to suffocate under it.

Barok is not given a choice to define himself and he lets it happen for a supposed greater good and to uphold his brother's memory.

When he loses Klint, there is no person left in his life who calls him by his first name. He becomes the lord of the manor of the Van Zieks estate, he becomes "Lord van Zieks." Does it feel strange, I wonder, hearing Albert say "Barok" for the first time in years?

The decade of the Reaper changes his appearance dramatically. Barok grows scarred, pale, muscular and edged. He frowns by default. Does he still recognize himself in the mirror? Does he still recognize himself in that photo Ryunosuke speaks of, with his brother and Gregson; when he sees his younger self, does he grieve him, does he mourn what he once was?

And that's why it's so important to me personally that something about Barok and his life changes post-canon. The shackles of the Reaper conspiracy and his grief have become undone and now he has control. Now, Barok is free to take initiative to decide who he is.

(the following is an idea/hc dump, so feel free to leave it at that, thank you for reading my insane rambles up until this point)

Someday, the attacks on him stop or become so infrequent that it feels like they have stopped. He doesn't need to be suitable for combat anymore. He can let his hair grow out, let his muscles fade in favor of enjoying wine alongside good meals, he can stop carrying a sword everywhere he goes.

Considering his five year hiatus, surely Barok has enough money to not rely on his prosecutor salary. Why shouldn't he use his free time to take on old or new hobbies? Develop that miniature building skill some more, travel places, pick up a rusty language or a dusty instrument again (because as a nobleman, he probably was educated in those)?

And. This is insane but bear with me. This is actually the inspiration for this post/this post should have been a side note in a post about the following but the Words rushed over me.

I think this insanity about autonomy about one's own identity comes from a trans thing. So. What if Barok trans. What if transfemme Barok. What if Beatrix van Zieks, affectionately called Bea by her family and friends.

I decided to give Amity the moon lesbian flag because I feel the aesthetic fits her very well (I also feel like she would associate the normal lesbian flag with who she used to be in season 1 so the change in flag represents the change in who she is). She probably learned about it through the internet like I did once they got to the human realm (I hope they got to celebrate pride month while they were there too)

Now for the traumatized kid. We all know he is confirmed to be Bi and I've seen so many HCs about Hunter being transfemme but I feel that they would want to keep their masc energy but not completely. I think demiboy fits him quite well don't you think? As a demigirl myself I quite like the representation :) don't get me wrong I love trans characters I just like the "not straight straight couple" representation too and this felt like a nice balance

Now a lot of people like to ship Gus with Mattholomule (or rather Mat Tholomule) but judging by Gus's reaction to Man Tholomule™'s mustache of confusion (and maybe a little disgust lol) and the lack of an actual love interest I like to think Gus is an aroace lad (also the ✨aesthetic✨)

Omg I love Vee so much I wish we got to see more of them but I think they would be a Neptunic Ceteroromantic nonbinary basilisk :) Neptunic refers to someone who is sexually attracted to female aligned or nonbinary aligned people (anyone not male aligned or masc aligned) and ceteroromantic is a nonbinary person who is romantically attracted to other nonbinary people. I just love representation of lesser known sexualities and identities and so on <3

Now it is the God Kid™ again the aesthetic of the flag fits perfectly and people have already been using they/them for the collector in the show (they are very androgynous fr I'm so jealous 😭) so of course they would be nb. I didn't think it right to give them a sexuality since they're a literal god and a kid so I just left that part blank (if anything they would probably be questioning but I don't think they would have sexual/romantic attraction to any mortal being, I feel like the concept would be lost to them like death was so I think they wouldn't put a label on it either tbh)

What queer headcanons do you have of the Madrigals?

A lot of my headcanons are flexible, but I will say that I HC none of the cool color grandkids as straight. Specifically, I HC Mirabel as bi and Isabela as lesbian. Luisa, I'm not sure about, but her VA described her as queer.

Camilo I can see being questioning both in his sexuality and his gender. I don't know if I see him as cis, trans, or what, but I HC it as something that he has at least thought about and his gift has made him really question what he wants and who he is.

I'm not really sure about if I HC Pepa to be straight or pan, but both make sense to me🧡 I also don't necessarily HC it but I love it when people portray Pepa and Félix as being in a T4T relationship Actually I love any trans HC's and AU's in general . Don't get me started with the potential for both a transmasc and transfemme reading of Isabela.

hey friends i made a holiday!

i did this bc i believe ! in my transfemme akechi hc sm and drawing him in little cutesy girly girl dresses makes my heart happy (this is embarrassing.) thank god nobody gaf! this one isn’t original i will say though, with the various dresses ive drawn him in before i repeated something i did recently, a doodle which i really liked. originally i was going to draw him in a more fall cozy outfit with a different pose too but ive been in the tropical summer mood and i couldnt find a dress that fit what i was looking for exactly so i js repeated this outfit again but js actually drew something for it this time. as ridiculous as this is (he is a murderer!) i think it came out rly cutesy. i also wanna find a way to track how my art progresses consistently throughout the year and cuz im always drawing akechi, why not spread my agenda while doing so every week on a practically dead website lol. ok. i have nothing more to say but i love this sm (oh yea, dont mind that the dress looks completely different from the picture, my stupid ass did NOT use the actual reference when drawing it instead of a picture i had of it taken from a computer screen. ik its rly stupid lolol)

Also, I didn't even think about how Vox might misinterpret Alastor's continued animosity toward her as not really seeing her as a woman :( I always imagine them properly making up before she transitions, so I tend to avoid that angst lol.

I agree that Alastor wouldn't readily question his gender/sexuality, at least without an explicit push to, but I'm also very willing to put him in situations where he gets that push haha. I'm thinking of that comic where vox describing his own dysphoria causes alastor to self report by being like "well, do you think I feel like a man?" I hc Alastor, as @grownupchangeling would say, as being a woman in the way that Chuck Tingle is; the lack of dysphoria only makes it easier to just accept her male body and role, even if she doesn't feel like she is a man and would become a woman in a heartbeat if it were as easy as flipping a switch (which she misinterprets as some flavor of "well all men obviously secretly want to be women, the fairer sex"). I also agree that Alastor probably hasn't come in close contact with a lot of trans people, and if Vox were to actually explain how much being a certain gender matters to her, enough that, if she had figured it out even on earth, she would've gone through all the pain to transition, Alastor might start to realize she's genuinely built different. I think it would be similar to the revelation Vi Hart went through about their lack of attachment to gender, where it just seems kind of absurd that people would consider that a core part of their being. "People actually care? Enough to go through all that? I thought it was a joke. I thought we were all just putting on a hat and performing. I thought I was just getting a really good grade in being a man."

I don't know if you have transfem Vox headcanons but if you do I was wondering how you think Alastor would react to transfem Vox, if he knew her as a man for a long time (in Hell) and she started transitioning... Or if he found out Vox transitioned during his 7 year absence. Or, if you have headcanons for Vox's point of view: would she be too repressed around Alastor, worried of what he would think, and doubting herself because she knows Alastor has deeper friendships with women so what if she's influenced by that? Sorry for my English

I've admittedly fully internalized Vox as transmasc in my own writing, hahaha, but I really enjoy @velvet-games's art and writing for transfem radiostatic takes!

That said, I personally tend to headcanon Alastor as, like...having been in hell and all it entails in terms of modernity for long enough that he's pretty much taking the existence of trans people at face value, but in this way where it's something that he can not really think about too deeply because it's never relevant to him. (Which is a lack of self-examination that I think tracks with his canon lack of self-awareness about being ace, and my personal headcanon of him being functionally agender but not caring/thinking about it enough for it to ever come up.)

So I think that Alastor's reaction would be somewhat awkward because I'm not sure he's ever directly interacted with trans people, and he has some very performative ideas about gender roles (and likely conflates gender roles and gender expression), but generally not outright bigoted, and likely more of the "I'm not going to make it a thing" flavor...

Which in turn I think would make Vox super nervous, haha. I feel like since Alastor has such a distinction in how he tends to treat men vs women, Vox would end up reading into everything Alastor does. And the thing is that while Alastor is kinder and give more leeway to women, that's not, like, a hard and fast rule? He's freely a dick to Vaggie when they're at odds, and I can see a transfem Vox frustratedly trying to juggle her actual animosity with Alastor versus her knowledge of how Alastor treats Mimzy and Rosie (friends, but also women) compared to how he's treating her (an enemy, but also.........perhaps not seen as a woman?), etc, etc.

Tl;dr: I think Alastor would, as Alastor does, not really talk about his actual feelings on the topic, and I think this would cause Vox to overthink everything forever. Fun times! >:}
