my first creation was I adore you (may 1, 2020) which was a comfort piece i wrote when i wasn’t feeling too well. yes, i cringe when looking back at it. it’s definitely not my best work :/ but uh yes that’s my first.

a creation you’re really proud of:

a creation that i’m proud of is You’re the best present I could ever ask for. upon getting that request, i was nervous that i wouldn’t be able to do it justice. i mean, i haven’t been proposed to, so i didn’t know how to even approach the concept at first. honestly i kind of just went with my gut and i think it came out cute despite how much i initially struggled.

a creation that took you forever:

Don’t start something you can’t finish is one that i can think of immediately. it wasn’t difficult to write, since smut is literally one of my favorite genres to write, but i just remember going through a serious bout of writers block during that one. the pages filled very slowly, but i did get there and get it done eventually.

I think it’s healthy for him to see his parents showing affection. i can’t even remember how i thought of this concept for this prompt but i feel like it’s just so taehyung. the word count is low on this little drabble and i just think it’s cute.

i mean there couldn’t of been an I feel like I’m meeting the parents without I really like you. i didn’t intend for this to be a two-parter, but i’m actually glad it turned out to be because i really like the storyline of a shy kookie and shy reader trying to initiate more in their relationship.

i was so emotionally invested in this series oh my GOD. alex wrote this story beautifully with in depth written pieces woven through the textposts for an even clearer understanding of the characters emotions. i 1000/10 recommend this series for anyone who is soft for shy photographer jungkook :) it’s seriously adorable with just the right amount of drama to keep you hooked.

i’m such a sucker for friends to lovers, it’s not a surprise that this made it onto my list. this story has it all; angst, fluff, and smut. it’s evident from the very beginning that taehyung and the reader (affectionately dubbed ‘shortcake’) care for each other, and the buildup is so well done. my favorite part is obviously when they confess to each other, and i love the way renae lets us see the actual progression from friends to lovers with the way she ends the story.

Okay so tumblr did something super weird with the formatting and I couldn’t fix it; for some reason it had the page cut under the ask itself (as if the ask itself had the page cut in it) so I literally couldn’t edit it out and re-format it right. So I just took a screencap of the ask and I’ll respond via a standard textpost.

Gonna give a little warning because I’m gonna be talking about child abuse a bit.

Glad to hear it, anon. :) I try to keep an open mind with these discussions.

Tbh, I kinda get uncomfortable with some of the stuff I've seen in her tag regarding Zuko especially. I've seen a handful of people kind of dismissing him as being whiny or sensitive, and I just don't really vibe with that. I don't have anything against any of the people I've seen posting it, but I just don't vibe with.

I'm also gonna take the opportunity to try to break some of the misconceptions about the Azula fandom by saying that I don't feel afraid or intimidated to kinda go against a good portion of the fandom in a sense. And that's because, fellow Azula fans have never really outcast me or tried to fight me for saying that I think that Azula's a bit of an abuser. The Azula fandom imo, isn't full of bullies and hateful people; everyone I have talked to has been very open to a nice discussion. I think that it just depends how you approach them with your arguments.

All of that said, Imma get back on topic here; It’s a little tough to talk about Azula's flaws sometimes because I feel like (though, thankfully this hasn’t happened on tumblr to me yet) that some people take pointing out flaws in your faves as bashing them or posting hate.

But honestly this is really cool to hear because back when I first opened up this blog I used to do that thing where I’d justify everything that my faves did, which was a bit of a problem because my faves are all antagonists! xD So there has been a lot of progress made.

I think that there are three main reasons that people have a hard time admitting that she’s an abuser too.

I think that the biggest one is that a lot of Azula fans lately have been massively on the defensive. There has been quite a bit of hate in her tag, there have been things said by the writers (taken the wrong way or not), there have been a lot of generalizations, and so on. And all of it kind of puts fans on the defensive. I see so many posts about how Azula is irredeemable and just the worst, most evil character in the show and so people kind of swing hardcore the other way (Azula did nothing wrong) to make up for all of the demonizing she gets. One extreme usually leads to another. Seeing Azula get so much shit, like being called a killer and a sadist, provokes the Azula is a cinnamon roll reaction. Basically when a fandom gets put on blast for being 'the crazy' or 'mean' side of the fandom, I feel like it creates a cycle where that part of the fandom starts to actually act meaner because they feel backed into a corner. The more they are called 'delusional' for seeing good in Azula the more radically they will start to defend that belief until the shades of grey start disappearing, if that makes sense.

But this is just a theory of course.

The second reason I think that people tend to dismiss the things she does do wrong is that there's this association with criticism and hate. And this goes beyond the Avatar fandom. In general I feel like people find it hard to say bad things about their favorite characters because they feel like they're bashing their character and/or they don't want people to think that they are being negative. Plus it's just kinda hard to say bad things about something you like/love. Speaking as someone who used to do this; I always felt really weird about or like I was being negative when admitting that things I like have flaws. I'm not exactly sure why I used to feel like this because it wasn't an, 'I seem myself in this character, so insulting them is like insulting me' thing because I usually have almost nothing in common with my faves. Idk, it's just always been way easier for me to find things I like in a character I hate than it is for me to find things I don't like in a character that I do. On a personal level, it might just be because I'd rather focus on liking things that I like than hating things that I hate?

I guess that I think that it's just easy to forget that 'I don't like xyz aspect of Azula' is not the same as 'I don't like Azula at all'. I think that it's possible to love a character but not love everything about them, just like real people; you can love your mom to death but there will always be those things about her that drive you nuts.

And really, imo, I think that fans who are able to see flaws with their faves are the ones who understand them the best. I'm definitely not saying that the people who don't see/acknowledge their fave's flaws don't understand their fave. But I think that they are missing out on very crucial aspects of their favorite character. If you like a character you should like them for what they are in canon, not what you want them to be or what they could be.

I see a lot of potential for growth in Azula. I see potential for a redemption arc and I do love what her character can be. But I also love her character as is. Currently in canon, she's manipulative and goal driven to the point where she has a disregard for people. Currently she's an antagonist and I love her for that. Because antagonist, unredeemed Azula is the character I liked in the beginning. I don't condone her being manipulative and I don't like that as a personality trait. But I do love it as far as, she is a fantastically written antagonist. And those cold, manipulative, abusive traits add to her complexity when juxtaposed against her own abuse, insecurities, and need to be loved.

And that's kind of what I mean when I say that, if you like Azula, you should like her despite the flaws.  If that makes sense. I feel like people who say that she isn't an abuser (at least to some degree) kind of have a misunderstanding of her character. I think that one of the points of her character is to show that some abused kids don't come out okay. It's a tragic reality.

But with Azula I think that there's still room for her to change and start to break that cycle. I feel like she'd have a much harder time doing it than Zuko, because she has been subjected to his mental abuse in close range for much longer than he has. And I think that it would be something she'd struggle with her whole life, but I see good in her.

That said, I think that the third reason people have trouble seeing her as an abuse is because it is just really hard to see abuse victims become the abuser. I've mentioned before, but I come from a family where the chain ended with one of my parents. Said parent has told me many times how hard it was to fight that kind of upbringing. That's the real tragedy of abuse, it just goes on and on until you're mentally strong enough to fight yourself and break that chain. And the sad thing is, that some people just can't seem to do that. And I think that when discussing Azula, this comes into play a bit; it's just hard to look at even a fictional abuse victim and knowledge that they've become the abuser because it is all that they have known.

It's just a really hard topic and  that's why it's so easy for discourse like this to get heated; a lot of people have an Azula in their lives or relate to her in some way.

EDIT: There are a few things that I don’t think I was clear enough on with the initial post lol. First and foremost, I’m definitely not saying that these three reasons are the only reasons people don’t talk about Azula’s flaws. @wingsfreedom​ made a good point about differing ways of interpreting scenes. That’s another biggy. 

The other thing I want to clarify is that I don’t think that Azula is a full on abuser. I think that she displays tendencies and does some abusive things. But I also don’t put her on the same level as Ozai. I feel like she’s a bit more merciful than him. Like Ozai is pretty much too far gone; he’s an abuser and his mind is set there. Azula, I think still has the capacity to break the chain. She’s not a lost cause. I also feel like she can be reasoned with more than Ozai. Ozai is all about power; Azula is motivated more by desperation (be it for her father’s love, to keep the last bit of control she has, and to keep her friends). It still leads to that harmful behavior, but I don’t think that she’s a lost cause like Ozai. Like, she has some abusive tendencies now, but I can also see her being able to break the chain under the right conditions.  If that makes sense.

Doctor Who Tagging Game

Tagged by @popcornpages88 and @incorrect-doctorwho. I have been tagged by two (2) separate people so now I have to do it. But seriously ty for tagging me this was really fun to do.

(Sorry this is so long. I ramble A Lot.)

Favourite Doctor: Twelve!! I LOVE HIM! Especially later in his run but I still love him at the beginning too. He's just so lovely but also ready to snark. Plus his character (and hair) growth is just wonderful. Second fave is Eleven, since he was the first doctor I watched where I was old enough to really appreciate the story

Favourite Master: mmm... Missy! I'm not even sure why really, she's just magnetic. Delgado is a close second though! Which I mostly attribute to how many times I watched the Sea Devils when I was younger, haha.

Favourite Sonic: Eleven's one. I find the clicking mechanism really satisfying. Plus is the colours are nice?

Favourite Companion: DONnNaAaaa... noble. I love her so, so, much. She's wonderful and ready 2 fite. Her relationship with ten is just so close and strong, without any need for romance. It's brilliant.

Favourite Episode: Tough one. Really, really, tough one. Maybe Empty Child/Doctor Dances? That one is brilliant. It absolutely terrified me as a kid. I love how creepy it is while still having so much humour. Also the ending is really sweet. Love a happy ending me.

(Weird site note: but when I was younger I used to think Rose said the Doctor should have more 'spock' as in a misspronouniation of 'spunk'. So you can imagine my shock when I later realised it was a Star Trek reference lol.)

Favourite Soundtrack: 'I am the Doctor' is definitely my all time favourite. It so bouncy and has all the right nostalgia.

Dream actor for the next male/female Doctor: For female definitely Jo Martin. I don't care how they do it but I want it. She had so many good doctor vibes and she wasn't even on screen for more than 20 minutes. Other than that, I guess I just want a good actor? I've heard a few people suggest Colin Morgan and if we get another guy I think he'd be cool.

Dream Composer: Really dont know enough about music composers to choose... Though honestly Murray Gold was the dream.

Dream story: I'm very much a moment to moment forgets ideas two second after I thought them kind of person so I don't have anything concrete but.

1: a multi doctor story, with Donna, Clara, and Bill. (Or any one of them). Where the subplot is 13 struggling with guilt and making herself not stop a future that has already happened. Maybe 12 also feels guilt over Clara & Donna and 11 feels guilt over Donna and all their half hearted attempts to stop the past get interrupted by each other. Idk I just want Angst. (In this scenario 10 would just be getting gradually more worried about his future lmao)

2: I saw an amazing thread (link here) about the next Doctor & Master regenerating at the same time in the Tardis and both getting amnesia. Basically neither of them know which one is which and the entire story is them working together to figure out who they are... While they also deal with an alien threat. I love the idea that, because they're both bastards and two sides of the same coin, you literally can't tell who's who until the reveal. Bonus points if the main foreshadowing of their actual identity is that the Doctor is played by someone substantially taller.

Companion you'd like to see back: oh Ace, definitely. I think it would be wonderful if there was a 'School Reunion' (without the jealously though please) esque episode. It would be really fun to see her interact with a newer companion like Yaz. I've seen screenshots of a story I believe Sophie Aldred wrote(?) and yeah something like that.

Merlin 1x01 “The Dragon’s Call” Review

So I made two posts like this while rewatching Merlin last time, of my thoughts on the finale, that I never posted. I decided since this is my third full watch through of Merlin this might be something fun I can do. It’ll basically just be me rambling on and reviewing the plot, my favourite scenes/episodes, Merthur moments and just making comments. They’ll probably all end up being kinda long posts. So without further ado, and just to be safe, spoiler alert:

I remember the first time I watched this how epic I thought the “His name.. Merlin” thing was. Still epic.

1. why did you choose your url?

it’s a reference to the main character of one of my favourite books, mademoiselle de maupin by theophile gautier (a very gay and very overdramatic french novel from 1835, help 😭). i’ve considered changing it to something lakorn-related (i have a few ideas) but i’m so attached to serannes i don’t know if i ever could. but... maybe? idk i’m indecisive 😫

around 450 i think? i know i only really blog about asian (mainly thai) dramas, but i’m technically a multifandom blog and i follow people from a bunch of wildly different fandoms. some of them you might be able to guess. some of them i will never ever reveal 😘

no. all of my posts are 110% serious. actually i think people who make shitposts are the scourge of society and should be uniformly expunged from this site thb. whenever someone i follow makes a shitpost i immediately block them, add their url to a blocklist that i circulate among my remaining mutuals, and report them to tumblr staff

more than i probably should 😳 i try to stay off when i have a deadline, but i'm rarely successful tbh

Atots supremacy 😔✊ but no lol. I liked my prev url,seetians a lot, it was cute 🥺. But after the finale i had a lot of phutian feels and i wanted smth related to phutian. But all the pretty urls were taken 😭 so i was just trying combinations one day and i was like haha i bet the Ataleofthousandstars one is taken but still let me try it and then i got it!?!//! Helllpppp. But also yes atots supremacy 😔✊ i wanted to change it again but i feel a lot of ppl associate me with this url now so 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️ i dont want anyone to forget me

Atotsweek 😚😚 but tbh sideblogs are difficult to manage and jdjddj when someone likes the atotsweek posts from this blog, I get notifications for both blogs dudjdu its confusing 😩. Also i have to check everytime which blog im reblogging on. Anyway other than that I have 3 other sideblogs but i use those for saving textposts and resources and such so they are useless.

Diidjdsijs i almost forgot about this omg. So I bought a new phone and then was like let me download many apps so that I'll look cool and cultured 🤪. But then after 5 months or so i was like im never gonna use all of these apps so i started deleting them and then i saw tumblr and went oohh whats this let me take a look and opened an account djdjjdjs. And I was in a sfh hyperfixation that time so i stayed for the sfh posts and then I watched h3 trapped (my first bl) > watched wyel > made content for wyel > somehow found 2g by gifs and the rest is history 😌

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?

I found a lot of cool designs on pinterest and was like what if I use these ideas for my icon 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️ and tehohaew supremacy ofc 💞💞

7. why did you choose your header?

Cause im lazy and I literally giffed only that scene from ep2. And then i posted it TWICE and made it my header too. Work smarter not harder 😌 but also i like that shot? Like this is the equivalent of the sunset shot of itsay ep5 and i like it. Plus i added sparkles OBVIOUSLY but you cant see them unless you take a close look on it
