how do we feel about meatrack with cats (asking for myself)
MIRAAK IS A CAT GUY. i don't think he likes dogs very much at ALL, but he enjoys cats (and possibly other farm animals, esp sheep, which surprises him! i think he occasionally likes to stop and pet animals on the farms they pass while traveling). i actually gave tharya & miraak a vale sabre cat from gelebor during their own timeskip, her name is runa and she is the best🥰 she's huge and has massive teeth so she's good to have around for protection, but also for a long time she was very very tiny kitten and miraak would let her sit in the neckline of his robes while they traveled so she could stay warm and comfy, with just her lil head peeking out. tharya would put a glove or kerchief or something to wrap her & carry her in the bandolier she has so runa could peek out and watch too. she was small for a long while, but then grew very quickly, so now she's large but still young and still wants miraak to carry her around (he tries occasionally).
(edit: i think he also just enjoys little Animals in general. i have a headcanon that while he was a priest on solstheim he had two little sugar-glider-esque pets (native critters to atmora) with him that morokei gifted to him :3)

Edit: thanks so much for all the love on this one! It's only ever gotten 2 favorites on DA, so I'm very pleasantly surprised to see it kinda blowing up on Tumblr. Had no idea there were so many Revyn fans.
********************
I killed myself on the details, but it was worth it. This was my second piece of digital art, so I'm pretty proud of it!
From Chapter 17 of Dalliances with Dunmer:
"Considering my circumstances here, living in my hovel of a shop in the dirtiest end of a dirty city, I understand that I’m not the most attractive choice. And I also understand that you’re not ready to choose a mate yet, anyway. I am much older than you know; if I were human, and our lifespans were comparable, I would probably be more than old enough to be your father. Yet I’m still drawn to you and your youthful energy, your talent, your beauty, and your loving and compassionate heart. I know you don’t intentionally hurt me, and that it hurts you just to know that I hurt sometimes because of you.
“Even if I did manage to convince you to marry me, I believe our relationship would remain the same as it is now, except that we would share a home. And I ask myself, would it be enough for me to know that my home was your home, and you would always have to come back eventually? That you loved me at least as much as you love all the other lovers in your life? And once again I ask myself what makes me think you’d be my wife?
“And so it goes, back and forth… You don’t make me miserable, Miranja dear. I make myself miserable. Ambarys understands my yearning for you, but he thinks I’m a fool. I probably am. But I have nothing but time. And who am I to tell you what you can and cannot do? Enjoy your life as you see fit, dearest. I’ll continue to enjoy what time I’m able to spend with you. Thank you for choosing to spend time with me and to love this lonely old man.”
Miranja had tears streaming down her face by the time Revyn finished pouring his heart out. “Now may I kiss you?”
Revyn smiled and nodded, and Miranja freed her hands from his, holding his face and kissing him over and over as he embraced her with gentle arms and stroked her hair.
“I do love you and care for you, Revyn. Please don’t ever doubt that. You are actually one of my favorite lovers, as well as one of my favorite friends. I think I’d shrivel up and die if you ever turned your back on me.”
“Sweet girl, I could never do that. Even as rarely as I see you, you’ve become an important part of my life. You bring the sunlight into the darkest corners of my shop when you visit.”
They stood behind the stairs, just holding each other for a long while, until Miranja started to wonder if Talvas was getting bored or impatient.
“I should probably get going, Revyn. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings with me. You’ve given me some things to think about. I look forward to seeing you again soon. I’m glad that coming and going to and from Solstheim brings me right to your doorstep.”
“As am I,” Revyn said with quiet warmth. They shared one last tender kiss before returning to the taproom.

My thoughts on Sa'Chil
After having played with the Sa'Chil mod on a clean playthrough for it, I can safely give my thoughts on the companion and some of what I've experienced. I will note beforehand that I have not completed everything to do with her so far and also that there will be spoilers for the mod below.
Sa'Chil is someone I actually really liked adventuring with throughout Skyrim, I found it completely hilarious how she thought that thought of a dragon attacking the Western Watchtower or you being the Dragonborn absolutely silly, only to be proven wrong time and time again.
Yet despite her original thoughts of all of the main quest being one massive joke, she does turn around on those thoughts and stick by you, even hopping onto the wings of Odahviing to fight with at Skuldafn.
I've also played through with her accompanying me on the College of WInterhold, the Dawnguard, and the Thieves' Guild. She was someone I quite enjoyed listening to her thoughts on the crazy antics that we would get up with.
Another thing to praise about Sa'Chil is that she is her own person. She has a family which is alive (Well mostly, I do not regret stabbing her mom in the slightest though) and a friend in Morrowind that taught her how to cast fire magic. One of her quests even has her leaving you for a while to handle the death of her mom.
If I had to say anything bad about her, it's that she doesn't really have any idle dialogue. She definitely talks whenever you are doing a quest, but other than when that is happening she is dead silent. I would love to hear from her while adventuring, but I understand if resources were put elsewhere while developing it.
I certainly plan on finishing this playthrough with her once she returns from her little trip to Hammerfell so that I can take her with me to Solstheim. I also plan going down the romance path to see what might happen with that.
To conclude my thoughts, Sa'Chil is an amazing mod which you can find on Nexus and I can't recommend it enough. Make sure to give Sarcundy all the love you can because they deserve it.

I just had an au idea heavily inspired by Shamat and Riiju-lei….
Im half awake and on my phone btw pardon any typos or if it’s incoherent
Yknow Nerevarine becomes Nerevar and it’s the 4th era and all that. Except Nerevar and Voryn last left off on a really bad note. Voryn was already super corrupted by the heart but Nerevar thought he was at least semi-lucid. And Voryn had pretty harshly told Nerevar he hates him and never wants to see him again. That he’ll kill Nerevar himself to finally be free of him. And post killing dagoth ur this still fucks Nerevar up
He’s not evil Nerevar he just has. Bad ptsd from everything along w insomnia and psychosis (I have psychosis and I like writing characters with it) and he’s convinced that while he was madly in love w Voryn and tried to use that love to convince him out of the fight in the heart chamber… Voryn never really loved him. They were only friends for convenience on Voryn’s end and Voryn probably began to hate and resent him early on in the friendship but had to stay close bc Nerevar was king and could pose a threat if he let his real feelings show so he’d rather act like he enjoyed Nerevar’s company and subtly manipulated him just to survive
So when he finds Voryn’s reincarnation injured and low it’s… it gives him many mixed feelings. He’s happy to see Voryn’s face again, and also believes Voryn wouldn’t want Nerevar anywhere near him reincarnation or not. He feels guilty enjoying his reincarnation’s smile and laughter and sweet voice. But he tells himself over and over that it’s just for his sake, he would send the reincarnation somewhere else if he could but Nerevar is the best person to protect him at the moment. It’s just temporary and he’ll let the reincarnation now somewhere outside of Morrowind where he’ll actually be safe. He kept his distance enough that it’s not a super painful goodbye on the reincarnation’s heart, but he does wonder why he feels so cold and empty leaving. Nerevar wishes him good luck and sets him off to Skyrim
Where dragonborn shenanigans happen and alduin is slain. And then the gang goes to Solstheim where cult shit (outside miraak’s) happens and oops. Dagoth ur and Voryn Dagoth are both trying to get in that body. It’s a chaotic mess. Most of the cultists are dealt with but Neloth calls in Nerevar
And Nerevar. Well. He’s not happy to hear it at all but he comes running and does know the solution. He and Divayth were working on making sure dagoth ur never returns—Azura prophecized his reincarnation after all, and Nerevar interpreted in the most dire way possible assuming she meant dagoth ur and not Voryn. (To Nerevar of course she wouldn’t bother just telling him about Voryn coming back because it’s not like it concerns him. Voryn would want nothing to do with him, and hated him arguably more than the tribunal did. So she must be warning dagoth ur would be coming back)
The mask ritual is what they came up with to banish dagoth ur. But divayth warns him since he hypothesizes Voryn’s soul is completely bound to dagoth ur, a reincarnation choosing to banish dagoth ur will banish Voryn’s personality, memories, etc with it. He’ll truly never see Voryn again and won’t even have the chance to talk to him abt what happened and apologize. Nerevar says that’s definitely for the best, because as much as he wants it he doesn’t want to hurt Voryn either.
He would have done it on the reincarnation at the temple to be safe but his reincarnation seemed so sweet and lovely, he couldn’t bear the thought. The ritual is likely going to be painful and miserable and he didn’t do anything to deserve it, he didn’t choose to be Voryn’s reincarnation.
But he assures team dragonborn this is their best bet and if they encourage him he’ll be able to fight it off. He doesn’t tell them about his close relationship with Voryn or even that any bits of Voryn in him will also be banished because he doesn’t. Really think it’s relevant their friend is suffering trying to fight it off himself. And he’s in a bad way fluctuating rapidly from classic dagoth ur insults, screaming, confused screaming, and begging for Nerevar to help him—team dragonborn initially confused on who Nerevar is.
And the ritual is a success! Only it didn’t banish Voryn but instead made all of it surface in his mind and he’s out cold processing it for several days. It all seems to have worked though and he can’t sense dagoth ur’s influence on him in the slightest. Makes sure to get him all set up with healers. Though he still tries to keep his distance despite team dragonborn being like “hhhhhey db seemed to know you and kept calling for you to help what was that” and Nerevar laughs it off that he knew the man dagoth ur used to be as they were political allies for a time and basically coworkers AND he helped the reincarnation when he was injured one time so it probably all bled together. Hey he and divayth are going to be the only two ppl alive now who know there’s more to it than that his reincarnation doesn’t need to know how much bad blood there really was between them more than absolutely necessary. He’ll probably already be upset about dagoth ur and everything he doesn’t need to feel guilty about what Voryn said (and Nerevar does believe Voryn was probably in the right on that one). He does spill though that Voryn’s personality and memories will be gone AFTER the ritual is finished, but he tries to do that to reassure them that almost everything should be back to normal and they can forget this all every happened really
But uhhhhh yeah. Dragonborn wakes up with Voryn’s memories crying and demanding to go to morrowind to speak with Nerevar. Team dragonborn reassured him that Nerevar is already here on Solsthiem bc neloth called for him to help with the whole tribunal cult and weird possession shit. Lucien probably is like “he said he and your previous incarnation—well before dagoth ur—was your coworker of sorts. But that not to worry, your won’t remember anything from that man either!”
And the dragonborn has to deadpan “a little late for that. I remember everything” or smth along those lines. Just feeling absolutely awful for what he said to Nerevar before Nerevar was forced to kill him. And then gets told “he said you were political allies and coworkers” and has to go “COWORKERS?! WE WERE CLOSR FRIENDS FOR CENTURIES. THE CLOSEST OF FRIENDS. I TOLD HIM ALMOST EVERYTHING WHAT DO YOU MEAN COWORKERS?!?!” Before it dawns on him that ohhhhhh god neht actually thought this ritual would banish all of Voryn’s memories too and he’d never remember Nerevar again. But was willing to give that up to truly free him from dagoth ur’s influence like he couldn’t do so long ago. He’d rather lose his closest friend and the man he loved for a THIRD time than risk Voryn losing himself again.

helgen and morthal for the skyrim asks!
Helgen - Who was your first Skyrim character? Do you still make anything with them/play as them now?
My first Skyrim character was actually 2 characters at the same time 🙃. I usually play a goody-two-shoes my first playthrough of any game, but I really wanted to experience all the factions. So my LDB was an Altmer mage named Pyrina, and when I was doing the thieves guild and dark brotherhood quests I did it as her best friend Tiawyn. I have arts I did of them here, here & here. I did start a playthrough as just Tia later to use that romance Brynjolf mod, but I didn't get that far before getting distracted.
Morthal - Do you enjoy exploring dungeons and ruins? Why or why not?
Uh, depends on the dungeon? Like, I get really tired of draugr all the time and I hate dwemer ruins with a burning passion, but certain places are fun. I enjoy most of the Solstheim dungeons and Labyrinthian. Ones that have something extra to them, yanno? I like puzzle solving and ghosts.

New headcanon: after leaving Vvardenfell and moving to Solstheim, Neloth decides to grow his lil goatee beard in a vague attempt to disguise himself somewhat (making it harder for any morag tong assassins to find him) and also as a half hearted attempt to blend in better with the locals. Unfortunately, he fails spectacularly at both of these things as a) living in a giant mushroom tower tends to make you stand out quite a bit and b) loudly proclaiming "I am a Master wizard of House Telvanni!"all the time also makes you very easy to identify
Haha yeah, that does sound like a very Neloth-y thing he might do! A half-hearted attempt at disguise that fails due to his unwillingness to hide the important things that actually stand out. Probably because he has enough fear to go into exile, but not enough to give up much of his ways (If anything, he should be far more paranoid! Set up his magic Levitation Elevator to not just accept any rando flying up to his living quarters and surprising him! Idk give Talvas and the others a magic keycard or something, so only authorized users can come up!)
He's probably full of resentment more than anything, and maybe you could catch him muttering about "That blasted Aryon, sending people after me! And everyone says he's supposedly the "nice" one! HA!"
Hmm, I wonder if he grew the beard due to simple laziness? In Tel Naga, he likely had someone on hand to trim his hair, tailor new clothes, etc. He was "bald" and clean shaven back then, but now has a very clear hairline, indicating his roots are intact and he could grow it out if he wanted to (Or maybe he was truly bald and simply discovered a secret Telvanni hair regrowth formula ✨) I doubt he trusts anyone NOW with a barber's straight razor anywhere near him, so he likely handles it himself, to the best of his ability that he can be bothered with. And after growing the beard out, perhaps he quite liked the look, as we do :)
Alas, all his fine wizardly clothes have frayed over time though, and yet he'd rather hold onto them than commission new ones. Probably finds modern fashion distasteful, even if it's dunmer-made. I bet he makes fun of Talvas all the time for wearing Winterhold's Nordish style. Maybe if he finds a dunmer tailor making quality robes "like they used to in the good ol' days", he'd get some new threads :')
Sorry for that ramble, and Thank You Anon! <3 I always enjoy reading people's theories and ideas about our beloved Telvanni blorbos! It's always fun to speculate about their stories :)

For the evolved emoji OC asks!
🦁 Does your OC follow a moral code? Have they ever broken it, or been challenged by it?
🤺 What is your OC struggling or fighting for?
⚽ How does your OC like to spend their leisure time? Do they have any hobbies?
💬 What would you say to your OC if you were to speak to them?
Hi! Hi! So the post with the emoji asks has disappeared for everyone, but at least you didn't do what I did and forget to post the actual questions XD
🦁 Does your OC follow a moral code? Have they ever broken it, or been challenged by it?
She tends to follow whatever option most benefits her in the moment. She tends to think in the now and ignore the potential fallout. I'd say having to actually put that aside and fight Alduin when she'd much rather mess around on Solstheim. She was given a house there, she liked the laid-back pace. The one time she has to put something before herself and it's to save the damn Kalpa. They must be mistaken, and truth be told, she's only seen two dragons, and she ate one. The big black one hasn't shown up again. Surely there's someone else more suited to the job?
Reluctance is a theme.
🤺 What is your OC struggling or fighting for?
A stable home I think, she's constantly striving to make the most stable life for herself at the end of the day. Financially she managed, she has property now, and interpersonal relationships are something she's working on. She thinks she found stability on a few occasions but it keeps being ripped out from under her due to both her own actions and the threads of fate.
⚽ How does your OC like to spend their leisure time? Do they have any hobbies?
Sydari spends that time (rare as it may be) in two ways, the first is constructive, she's trying to read and write with better proficiency. So she spends time working on that, improving on the thing she's most self-conscious about. Then there's drinking, she enjoys the liveliness of taverns, the company. She likes not remembering what she did the night prior. She hates the headache, but that's what the potions are for. If it's quiet, she'll take a table in the corner and try to journal *try* she's getting better at it.
💬 What would you say to your OC if you were to speak to them?
I'm sorry I'm fucking you up as badly as me XD

Do forgive me for not making anything specific to certain characters , but I have some oc questions for u!
1. What textures do they like the best? Clothing or otherwise
2. What’s the thing they just can’t not feel awe and admiration about? Is it a place? How about a person?
3. How much do they care about their hair? They a 13 different additives every morning, or a ‘shower in the next month or two’ type of person?
4. What kinda freaks em out? Not like full on panic, but just a general sense of uncomfortable-ness. Like the thought of stubbing your toe real bad.
5. If they had a pet, what would they be most likely to name it?
6. Preferred living space aesthetics? Do they like classic Victorian, or a warm cozy cabin?
7. How do they keep their living space? Is it the ‘everything is organized, just in the messiest way possible’, or something a little bit more elaborate?
8. Have they got any stuffed animals or other toys?
That’s it for now but if I come up with any more I will send them to you :} I hope they were useful!!
omg hiii
read more bc i’m determined to answer these questions for all 3 of my main ocs. i would’ve added my eso gals but then this would be TOO long
1. What textures do they like the best?
i have utterly no knowledge of textures, i don’t notice them enough to know what certain things feel like and i have no clue what textures would exist in tes so i made some stuff up
azug: azug is like weirdly into the texture of the berries in a crostata. she likes jazbay grape crostatas the best
megana: megana really likes cashmere — remember, she’s an imperial rich girl, it was the favored winterwear when she grew up in cheydinhal. it’s not as trendy in skyrim but she has a couple shawls she busts out for special occasions
antony: antony just likes anything that isn’t itchy. he grew up a little street urchin and is used to poorly made clothes
2. What’s the thing they just can’t not feel awe and admiration about?
azug: azug admires courage. she’s courageous herself but she’s also very anxious and can’t help but admire others for being brave too
megana: megana will forever be awed by other’s magical skill. she’d be in the middle of a wizard battle mentally ranting about the other mage’s cool epic spells
antony: antony LOVES statues. he doesn’t like people he Does like statues. and nature in general
3. How much do they care about their hair?
azug: she washes it but she keeps it under a hood a lot of the time so like. hood hair
megana: literally not at all her hairstyle is very just “practical” (it’s not it flies in her face all the time but she doesn’t want it shorter and likes not having to style it)
antony: he washes it when there’s blood in it. that’s it
4. What kinda freaks em out?
azug: azug hated every single creature she discovered on solstheim. just solstheim as a whole actually, she doesn’t enjoy it
megana: trolls.
antony: he thinks imps are kind of freaky. they’re strange little flying men. and they have no genitals. enough said
5. If they had a pet, what would they be most likely to name it?
azug: azug’s closest thing to a pet is her horse, hjalte. he’s like her equine bestie. she named him that because the stablemaster told her he had a habit of helping travelers fight off wolves (he’d then disappear back into the wilds. he just likes stomping shit. one time he kept antagonizing erik and lucien. he likes to fuck around)
megana: she does have a pet! it’s thistle. but she was already named. if megana had to pick a name she’d probably go for Magnus or some such. maybe name it after a spell
antony: antony does not have an interest in pets. if he did have one it’d be a dog and he’d either find some obscure hero to name it after or name it something stupid like Claw
6. Preferred living space aesthetics?
going for in-universe aesthetics, not victorian and such
azug: she likes whiterun style. that’s why she still lives in the tundra homestead despite it being tiny for her and her two grown men besties
megana: she always loved the fuck off huge stone walls of the imperial city. she lives in myrwatch now, which has similar big stone but she tries to keep it cozy
antony: he likes chorrol but the house there is way too huge for him, he likes smaller places. just by my memory of the city houses i think bruma would be the best for him
7. How do they keep their living space?
azug: cluttered. stuff gets knocked over every time she goes home. she says her stuff is organized but she forgets how half the time
megana: mostly organized but how organized can a mage really be. her things have proper places but that doesn’t stop her from setting them down randomly
antony: organized. he doesn’t have the patience to be forgetting where he put stuff
8. Have they got any stuffed animals or other toys?
azug: when she was little she had a stuffed mud crab and now she thinks of it every time she sees one (she tries not to kill them)
megana: she doesn’t keep one, but when she finds dolls she sometimes take them to practice spells on (she thinks it’s funny). she also once sewed a shitty little stuffed carrot for thistle, who promptly tried to eat it, and it was confiscated
antony: no because he’s a little bitch
this took me an hour to answer. i hope this is satisfactory ❤️❤️

story blurbs, because writing is harder than it used to be
but I've still got a million little things I wanna write
these are my top three stories (all Elder Scrolls), the ones that've been around a while or get thought about frequently, and the ones I believe I could actually make something out of if I put my mind to it (and had a little outside inspiration) - there is a fourth, but it's still new and I can't summarize it yet
figured I should at least get the summaries out there, if nothing else, and just see what happens, so . . . enjoy if you like
The Wizard from House Telvanni
Taren is the lowborn son of failed thieves, a quiet and untroublesome doer of odd jobs to whom no one pays much mind, and he likes it that way. Dothrasi is displaced sorcerous nobility, forced to flee the only life and home she's ever known to live with her cousin. Both have a house on Solstheim, but neither of them calls it home.
Brought together by pragmatism, it's ruinous fascination that keeps them together. If opposites attract, then no pairing proves it more.
Child of the Worm
Raised from birth among the brilliant minds of the Mages Guild, there is no one Rulion idolizes more than Vanus Galerion. When the Guildmaster takes him on as his personal apprentice, Rulion leaps headlong into the opportunity.
What should be a cut-and-dry analysis of Ayleid ruins quickly turns sour, and in the aftermath Rulion is caught up in the machinations of mortals and daedra. The truth of his existence reveals itself, and a story begun millennia ago enter its next chapter.
The Snow Prince
Ydhedhor is the Snow Prince of the Fourth Era, heir to the monarchy of the hidden but still proud Falmer tucked away on their wintry island kingdom. A traditional childhood is contested when an ancient ancestral magic manifests in him, one that many believe means he's destined for something greater than the throne.
In stark contrast are the events which arise as his coronation date nears - rumors about his mother's death, famine in the villages, and hints of machinations from circles he's always trusted threaten not only his crown, but those he loves and everything he expected to be.

6 questions
I was tagged by @thana-topsy thank you friend<3<3<3
RULES: answer the questions then tag some folx you want to get to know better/catch up with.
Last Song: Because I am a cliche I pretty much exclusively listen to Synthwave while working (coding.) I was in the middle of listening to Casio Love by Paul Collider. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQcX6ih9tFk
Last Show : Cells at Work! Code Black - let me tell you I have NEVER been invested in a dude getting a boner as I was by the climax (HEH) of episode 3 and I write and read a lot of M/M fics.
Currently Watching: I'm working my way through all of Max Miller's Tasting History videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlQZ3NPnoLk&list=PLIkaZtzr9JDkNXTsFck0w9CFVF0U-zPlV
Currently Reading: I have ADHD, so I'm almost always reading more than one thing. Non-Fanfic: I'm reading a fan translation of the BL LN "The Otherworld's Books Depend on the Corporate Slave." It's kind of a send-up of the isekai genre (which I usually avoid like the plague) where the main protagonist is a boring accountant who accidentally got dragged along when the Beautiful Magical Teenage Girl was sucked into a portal to the other universe. He's very genre aware and is very exasperated at the teenage girl who keeps falling for all the tropes of the isekai genre. He ends up saving the otherworld with his awesome accounting skills, and must have a lot of sex with the other love interest who in a normal isekai would be the one romancing the Beautiful Magical Teen Girl. It's absolutely bananacrackers and I'm having lots of fun reading through it. Fanfic: Hollow Men by @thana-topsy Tells the story of a Thalmor POW's escape from the clutches of the LDB, and his road to recovery. Like Lightning by JottingProsaist - this fic is single-handedly changing my mind about second-person POV. It's incredibly well-done, and gives the reader a fantastic, intimate insight into different characters' thoughts and motivations. The Prodigal Dragonborn by @ms-katonic-of-tamriel A delightful Lucien Flavius/Miraak romp around Solstheim and Skyrim. If anyone can make Miraak Be Better it's Our Dear Cinnamon Roll Lucien Flavius. Stumbled across this one while desperately searching for M/M fic featuring Lucien. The Bonds of Civility by @nientedenada - Just started this one, but super-enjoying the hasty decision-making by the LDB having massive political fallout, and all of the intrigue that goes along with it.
Current Obsession: The Elder Scrolls. Uh, if we're getting more specific I'm deep into plotting and outlining a massive Lucien Flavius/Kaidan Chivalric Romance trilogy. I'm also polishing up the first draft of a prequel focusing on Lucien and his first few days in Skyrim, so I guess Lucien is my current TES obsession?
Unrelated Obsession: Fiber arts - but this ends up being related to my TES obsession, lol, since I'm currently working on charting out some Elder Scrolls designs for knitting and Tunisian crochet, and also traditional embroidery samplers that might have been done by various cultures in TES. I also love history, especially Roman Empire history, but not in the weird "Julius Caesar did nothing wrong" crypto-fash way but in the "ha ha Diocletian's big naturals (are cabbages)" way. (shoutout to @dwellerinroots for that joke) Also in the "I need to figure out if subligaculae can be untied with one's teeth for historical smut purposes" way. I also have an entire subdirectory on my computer of all the dicks Ancient Romans drew everywhere they went.
Uh, I'm actually writing this while waiting for a pipeline script to finish troubleshooting so no time to sort through and see who's already been tagged, but if you want to do it please do! I love learning more about people. :)

Writing WIP Wednesday (2/28/24)
Just a couple of paragraphs from a story I thought I had finished, but it wanted to be fleshed out a bit. This is for Waking Up on Solstheim. A bit glaringly autobiographical, but I firmly believe that I'm not the only Skyrim fanfic writer who's ever imagined something like this.
Tagged by my lovely and encouraging friend, @thequeenofthewinter
Tagging my other wonderful friends: @dirty-bosmer @gwilin-stay-winnin @lillxart @mareenavee @skyrim-forever
Danielle also fretted about not knowing how long she would get to remain here. She knew she should just relax and enjoy every moment she could, but she just couldn't help feeling that as soon as she started to take it for granted, she'd find herself back at home. And with every day that passed, she was growing more attached to Geldis. She couldn't bear the thought of going back before she'd at least made love with him once, but at the same time, she was hesitant to let him see her aging, scarred, flabby body. In her mind, she was still Miranja's age in many ways, but her body encased her spirit the way a worn leather book cover held a timeless story within. She wanted to make sure Geldis was enraptured enough with the story to overlook the wear and tear on the cover.
Speaking of her scars, her mind turned toward the reasons for those scars: her children. She wished there was some way she could get word to them and let them know she was alive and well – in Raven Rock, of all the blessed miracles! Did they think she was dead? That she’d been kidnapped? That she’d run away to start a new life by herself somewhere else? The third option was pretty close, although she hadn’t actually run away. She wasn’t entirely sure she could have just run away from all her responsibilities, so it was a sort of relief that the decision had been made for her by whatever one might call God in the multiverse. And it wasn't like the kids couldn't get by on their own: they were all adults. She just wanted the kids to know that she was happy, truly happy, where she was now, whether she and Geldis started a relationship or not. What this life lacked in modern comforts it more than made up for in magic, wonder, companionship, and acceptance.

ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU HAVEN'T DONE YET, but for NERISSA for the Skryim OC ask :3c
FUCK now i gotta go back and figure out which ones i didn't do
(but i will do it anyway to show thanks for you wanting to hear about the girlboss)
[5 seconds later]
oh this is a lot of questions this is going under the funny readmore
(also im not gonna number or bold these because there is Too Many)
Do they worship any deities, be it aedra or daedra?
mainly hermaeus mora :) but before she ran into him she was very into julianos
What factions are they a part of?
imperial legion and the college of winterhold c: technically also bard's college though it's not formally a faction
What were they doing before their adventure officially began?
she was a librarian! moved up to battlemage after narrowly escaping from helgen keep with hadvar and tahiri, formally joined the legion and helped them recolonize reunify the land, learned she was dragonborn on the way, and the rest is herstory :P
What non-combat skill do they excel at?
enchanting! the one type of magic tahiri also has but nerissa can do it too i guess. by contrast tahiri can do alchemy and smithing well which nerissa is not as good at :P also the bardic arts
What is their combat style?
alteration magic armor, cloak spell, summon an atronach, then one sword in each hand. formerly used both bound swords for this but after mora decided miraak was no longer his specialest boy, nerissa inherited his sword (which is apparently called the firstblade, which i didn't know!) and now she uses that and a bound sword. she also likes to summon funny tentacles from apocrypha but there's not really a mod that lets me do this i don't think
What hold do they dislike the most?
probably the reach. full of reachmen
From a story standpoint, what is the general opinion of your character amongst the people of Skyrim?
for all her unhinged girlbossness, pretty positive! she takes the time to help out the little guy and the people are cognizant of this, they don't just hail her as the legendary dragonborn hero because she is but also because she does good by them.
Do they consort with Daedra?
oh boy. does she ever :) 🐙📚
Did they feel sympathy for any villains they came into contact with? If so, who and why?
being very well read she's very much up to date on various deities and recognizes talos as one of them, so she kinda feels for ulfric's goals insofar as reinstating him in the pantheon goes. she could probably single handedly (or with tahiri and serana's help) kick the thalmor out of skyrim if it came to it.
Have they refused any jobs? If so, why?
she doesn't want to do the thieves guild (neither does tahiri actually).
What’s their favorite armor?
this one by elianora ^^
Do they have any family?
none alive that she knows of, no
Whats their least favorite hold?
i swear i already did this one
What is their least favorite minor enemy to fight?
ice wraiths. fucking thing won't stay still
What creature are they most fond of?
dwarven armored mudcrab :)
Are they prone to boasting?
not necessarily; everyone on her good side already knows what she's capable of and everyone on her bad side will soon find out anyway :P
Who would they consider their biggest rival?
miraak, and we all know how that ended for him >:3
Who is their love interest?
haven't actually decided yet. for now she's single and ready to mingle.
Do they enjoy the cold Skyrim weather?
she doesn't mind it! at least she doesn't constantly bitch about it like serana.
What kind of terrain do they enjoy the most?
she is surprisingly partial to the ashy wasteland of solstheim, actually.
Are they an “explore everything in the area” type of person, or do they go “straight there and back”?
yes, she's very meticulous about it. just like her studies actually.
What is their preferred method of travel? (Ex: Walking, carriage, horse, etc)
walking, but if she could figure out how to teleport she would
Do they have a specific color scheme?
it's all very muted browns (as per the armor mod linked above), but her white hair is very significant to her design and story (it used to be black but turned white when she read the oghma infinium)
What is their most preferred weapon type? (Ex: Glass dagger, dwarven bow, etc)
miraak's sword alongside a bound one, as i already mentioned
Could this character wield a two handed weapon successfully?
successfully? yes. masterfully? no
What is their opinion on draugr?
they're rather easy to (re)kill, but the method of reanimation is very fascinating to her and she'd love to study it if she wasn't busy saving the world every 5 minutes
Did you make this character with a certain love interest in mind?
no actually!
Is there a certain mod that is very important to this character’s playthrough?
the most significant one aside from the armor has to be hermaeus mora eye textures. i wonder if you can tell why that is :)
Has their character design changed?
the hair has, but that's an important part of her story as i pointed out above. other than that i haven't even actually built her character so there's little to change :v
Do they have any piercings or tattoos? If so, how many and what are they?
no
Do they wear war paint and if so, is it significant to them in any particular way?
and no.

Writing Patterns/First 10 Lines Game
Rules: list the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there’s a pattern! (If you don't have 10, do as many as you have!)
Tagged by @vivifriend ! I love this a lot. But I added the first paragraph. It just gives more context and is more interesting. I’m bad at seeing patterns but if you see anything let me know lol.
There’s also a really long collection/series where the latest part just spoils a lot so, I just added the first line from the very first part!
Also, quite possibly obsessed with making LDBs. 😊
Going to tag @madamefluffnstuff @wildhexe @bostoniangirl21 and anyone else (no rush or pressure)
1. Roar of a Wolfborn - Skyrim ; LDB x Farkas
Sifkni’s feet carried her far from her home. Far from everything she’d known. Everything she loved. It didn’t matter anymore. Her heart dropped. What was she going to do now? Everyone was gone.
2. Sivaas - Skyrim ; Werewolf OC x Brynjolf
The dark skinned Bosmer wandered the market stalls in the middle of Riften’s town circle. She perused the wares at each stall, wondering where each of the items were originally procured from. Sure, she could ask where they got the items from but there was no fun in that. She brushed her orange hair behind her ear.
3. Encounters - Elder Scrolls Online ; OC x Zeira
It was a typical sunny and hot day in Abah’s Landing. Aurelia Proxima, an Imperial noble currently residing in the desert, sat in her study. She, however, was not studying. She enjoyed watching the streets below and the study had the best vantage point.
4. The Amazing Adventures and Tales of the Dovahkiin, Elja Iron-Breaker - Skyrim ; LDB x Isran
This journal belongs to Elja Iron-Breaker. If found, please burn the journal.
5. Blessings of the Moons - Skyrim ; OC x OC
Finnki wandered around the entrance of a cave that she cleared of bandits. She made sure she had finished her job before she returned home to Whiterun. The area seemed clear. No traces of living bandits. It would give peace of mind to travelers in the area. She didn’t want any stragglers to stumble about and catch her off guards. It truly seemed peaceful once more.
6. Vestige Liselle Encounters Another Prince ft. Dragons (and Mudcrabs / Just a Ruin (and mudcrab) Advocate - Elder Scrolls Online ; Vestige x Abnur Tharn
I’ve been away from home for so long. I’ve been trekking throughout Hammerfell. The climate is so vastly different from home, but it has its charms and the clothing there is actually comfortable. Breathable.
7. Shadows Preserve Us - Skyrim ; OC x Mercer Frey
Ragna leaned against the damp wood wall of the local tavern, The Bee and the Barb, flipping a coin in her hand. She kept an eye on the busy market. Some of the patrons stood out. She needed to look for someone to help. Help find a rat.
8. Frostfalls of Solstheim - Skyrim ; LDB x Miraak
Do you ever feel like something isn’t right? You do all you can to live and survive. You have a place to live and a family whether they’re blood or not. They’re still family.
But something is calling you.
You need to find ‘home’.
9. Mists of Sovngarde - LDB x Kodlak
Kaetilvi, Dragonborn, Thane of Whiterun, sat on the stairs to the Skyforge next to Jorrvaskr. The Nord woman had a long day of fighting a dragon and once she set foot in the city, to the mead hall it was to drink. And drink she did. She swayed in her seat as she hummed a song, occasionally a string of slurred lyrics would come out.
10. Saga of a Talos worshiping Shield-maiden - Blades ; OC x Henrik
I need to keep certain things about myself discreet lest this fall into the wrong hands. Especially after the war. Especially the mockery of ‘peace’ the Aldmeri Dominion is parading around. Praising. Hunting. Torturing

THIS POLL WAS MADE FOR MEEEEEE
technically I’ve turned all the Dragon Priests into OCs but I have three I made from whole cloth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first one is Suleyk. His name translates to Power, and he earned that name by participating in and leading several key battles against Unbelievers. In fact his assistance was critical in annexing Solstheim for the Dragon Cult, and as such Miraak allowed him to gather Heart Stone from deep underground to make his Mask and robes. He had to go DEEP, because the last time Red Mountain erupted was like millennia ago, but he got them and he wears them with pride. He’s Transmasc and Straight, but that hasn’t stopped Hevnoraak from trying to seduce him (Suleyk is aware. Suleyk wants Hevnoraak’s head on a pike (who doesn’t at this point))
The second one is Britfaaz! Her name translates to Beautiful Pain, or Painful Beauty, a name that reflects her contrary nature. She’s a Dragon Priestess, and by that logic she is in some cases merciless and cruel. But she stands out by being an extremely compassionate and just ruler who legitimately cares for her people. She was also a key player in the battles for Solstheim, being a native of what would later become the Skaal, and thus knew the secrets of forging Stalhrim. When Miraak was given custody of Solstheim she asked him for permission to gather Stalhrim for her Mask and robes. He granted it, and said that she could sleep with him as payment (he was joking when he said this because he’s an insensitive prick sometimes). She didn’t think it was funny and kicked him in the balls so hard he passed out. It was on that day he learned not to fuck with her. She did in fact get her Stalhrim! She’s Demisexual and Panromantic with a slight preference for other women, and Tulnir (another Priest) is currently crushing on her HARDCORE. Britfaaz is not aware of this.
The last one is Nahlot, meaning Silence or Silent One. They received their name because they’re actually mute, and have been their whole life. They communicate entirely through either sign language or writing. Britfaaz is actually more or less their sole parental figure, having taken them under her wing. They often get clingy to her, especially when around Priests like Hevnoraak who tended to bully them for their muteness. They had their Mask and robes made out of mammoth ivory and inlaid with carvings from horker and sabrecat tusks. They did this specifically to be able to move around more quietly, as they enjoy being a silent presence at the back of everything. They also really like sneaking up on people. They’re Placiosexual and Panromantic as well as Agender and use they/them only.
P L E A S E ask me about my Dragon Priest headcanons and OCS PLEASE I AM BEGGING

As you might have guessed by my lack of Genshin-related posting in recent times, I'm barely playing the game anymore. Still logging in daily, but only for Daily Check-In, Expeditions, Daily Commissions, and claiming Battle Pass rewards, which takes all of about 15 minutes. And my dissatisfaction with the game's content direction has been made rather clear, I'd say.
Something I have been really into, on the other hand, is Skyrim. As a Skyrim on Switch enjoyer, I was really excited when Anniversary Edition came to the platform in September last year. At the time though, I was seriously bummed out by the frankly unacceptable framerate issues and dropped the game for a while. Those issues have since been fixed, however, so I got back into the game and have really been enjoying it.
The Switch version still has some somewhat significant problems, but thankfully they don't affect what I do all that much. There's an issue that, bafflingly, has existed in the game since Anniversary Edition was released that makes it impossible to gain ownership of the only player home on Solstheim, Severin Manor. It's the most convenient location for crafting endgame gear, but that's all I really used it for, so not having it just means that crafting endgame gear is a bit more annoying than before.
Since I got back into the game, I've completed an alchemist/poisoner character and have made significant progress with a stealth archer "kill every NPC in the game" character. The way I play Skyrim is similar to the way I play Terraria: several playthroughs with different characters using different builds. I tend not to do much after that, sadly, as by the time I've completed a build there's usually no more challenge to be had, even on the highest difficulty setting.
This stealth archer thing might be an exception though as I'm having loads of fun with it. Yes, I know, it's essentially the basic bitch of Skyrim character builds, but it's the one I have the most fun with. I enjoy being able to relax and play the game at my own pace with a build that rewards precision and careful positioning/planning.
So I think I’ll probably post some more about Skyrim in the future, at least until I get tired of it again, which hopefully won't be for a while. I've got other builds I want to try, one of which is an actual melee build for once. I've never taken one to completion because, frankly, early game melee sucks ass in Skyrim, but I should do one if only for the sake of not doing yet another stealth or magic build.
