Clarisse La Rue - Between the Breaths
Clarisse x gn! reader
An- Over 3.4k on this one!!! It didn't really take me that long to write it either! Thank you for all of the notes on I'm Your Man, it means a lot to me! Also, if anyone has request for any Clarisse or Luke fanfics, I would be happy to hear them even though I have no clue on how to do requests lol
Warnings- Training, weapons, somewhat gruesome part but really at all, Clarisse being friends with most of the Aphrodite cabin, reader can be from any cabin!! Pls let me know if I missed something!!
Clarisse La Rue had been at Camp Half blood for awhile, and it's safe to say that she has seen a lot of things. Good things, pretty things, but also gruesome things, things that would break a normal person if they weren't strong.
But she was strong.
Just not as much when it comes to you.
You, who the moon and sun seemed to shine on in a whole different light then it did on the rest of camp. You, whose kindness had reached almost every demigod, each of which likes you in their own way for their own reason. You, who was the most beautiful person Clarisse has ever seen.
Except she couldn't ever get too close to you, or have a conversation with you that was long, for she was Clarisse La Rue, child of Ares, the favorite daughter of a man who didn’t like his kids. And you, you were just too good for her. But she would never let a crush like this weigh on her the way it had started to, so she found a good way to regulate it all.
It was fighting, of course.
She let out a battle cry as she stabbed her spear into the ground, getting annoyed at how the other camper had rolled out of the way instead of letting her stab them. Sounds of other kids also fighting in the training ground filled her ears and she could distantly pick up the smell of food. She could thank the instincts she got from her god-parent as she went in for another attack (this time one that would actually hit), but a yell stopped her before she could go through with it.
“Hey! Anyone who wants a snack can take one!” Luke Castellan stood off to the side with his arms crossed, and standing right next to him holding a tray, was you.
Younger campers ran over to the two of you, while older ones opted to walk or to pick up dangerous weapons that had been discounted to the ground.
Clarisse scoffed and began to walk the other way, clenching her gifted spear tightly in her hand. She was stomping down the path through the forest that led to her special spot, her favorite tree, but the sound of running footsteps from behind her made her slow down and lighten her steps.
She twirled around, spear at the ready to go through a neck, but it was your neck in which the spear was now pointed at. And, surprise surprise, your neck was attached to the rest of your body.
The back of her neck and the tips of her ears began to feel hot, the type of burning she swore she could only feel whenever she entered the Hephaestus cabin to complain about her faulty armor. Or whenever she was close to you at the bonfire nights. She lowered her spear a bit and her stance faltered.
“Oh, um, I was just.... Is this a bad time?”
“No, it’s not.” She dropped the spear from the attack mode and turned around, continuing down the path. You followed after her, balancing the last few snacks still on the tray you were holding as you awkwardly stepped over tree trunks and discarded branches.
“Well, I was just wondering if you wanted anything to eat, considering that you're, like, the most hard working person in training and stuff. You definitely need substances so you can keep your muscles. ” Wow, you definitely knew exactly how and what to say to a kid of Ares.
“I don’t need a snack from you.” Gods, she hoped you picked up more on the sarcasm and not the accidental longing that had slipped out.
“Clarisse-” -she almost melted with how you had said her name- “-You were training really hard for a pretty long time. You should- you need to eat something!”
“I don’t need to do anything that you or anyone else tells me to!” She whirled around, getting very close to you as you halted, but taking a few steps back as a precaution. She glared at you, and you could feel her heavy breaths on your neck. You were looking down on her thanks to the hill, but despite that she was still pretty intimidating.
And just pretty.
Her eyes flickered to the snacks, and then they flickered back up to meet yours.
“If I take one, can you leave?” You brightened at her question.
“Of course!” She hesitantly took one, and before she turned around, you could have sworn that you heard her whisper a “Thank you, angel.” Your cheeks felt strangely warm as you made your way back to camp.
Throwing down another broken dagger, Clarisse groaned. The dummy she had destroyed was laying in shreds on the ground in front of her, and she was beginning to feel bad for whoever would have to stitch it back up. Someone began to clap behind her and her eye twitched.
“I think you got ‘em!” Selena Beauregard, daughter of Aphrodite, called from the sidelines.
“What do you want?” Clarisse called back, grabbing another dagger from the closest weapons rack near her. Silena watched as she twirled it around a few times.
“I’m here to ask you about something.” there was a strange sly smirk that situated on Silena’s face, that no matter what reputation the Aphrodite kid was, other campers knew that was the universal sign to run away.
Clarisse sighed and crossed her arms, the dagger she was holding pointing to the ground. She quirked her eyebrow as a way to say “go ahead”.
“We know you have a crush.” All of the sudden, at least six other kids that Clarisse could recognize as from the Aphrodite cabin jumped out of the bushes and came rushing towards Clarisse.
That was how she died.
Okay, so she definitely didn’t die, but dying was definitely better than being forced onto a pink chair inside the even pinker walls of the goddess of love's cabin.
Could’ve Clarisse fought of all of them and then report them to Chiron? Yes. But she just really didn't feel up to using that much energy on a bunch of perfect haired people. And besides, the amount of strength they had did impress her, so she was going to give it to them just this once.
A twelve year old girl was holding onto her right hand, delicately and perfectly brushing on a coat of black nail polish onto her freshly buffed nails.
Clarisse tried to pay attention to everything that the girl was doing, but the distracting amount of sets of eyes on her made it hard to do so. Even so, this was the first time someone had ever painted her nails for her.
“Got the ice cream!” Mitchell, one of the only sons of the love goddess came through the cabin doors, and he was met with cheers from every magenta cabin corner.
It took a minute or two until a bowl was eventually passed to Clarisse, but it was snatched away by the girl doing her nails. She wrinkled her nose at her, and the girl stuck out her tongue as response.
“So,” Silena started off, pausing to take a bite of the ice cream. “Want to talk about it?”
“I don’t know what your talking about.” Clarisse stayed stubborn, but she most definitely knew what she was talking about.
“Girl, we see how you get whenever they are around. Do you for real think that we are all stupid?” Another voice piped in from a random bunk bed to Clarisse’s left.
“Who?” She paid hyper attention to how the girl had finished working on her ring finger and was now moving onto her middle one. Shouts of your name rang out under the tall ceiling and Clarisse immediately tensed up.
“I do not have a crush on them.” She scoffed, but everyone else noticed the shakiness in her voice and they all exchanged knowing glances and smiles.
“You soooooo do! And that's why we’re helping you!” Voices of agreement chimed in with their two senses.
“We see how you look at them!”
“Yeah, and there's, like, a certain tension that comes around whenever you guys pass by each other! It’s soooo cute!”
“With our help, there's gonna be no way that they aren't in love with you!” Clarisse glared at the direction the voice came from.
“You don’t think they aren't already in love with me?” It didn’t seem to far of base, since Clarisse herself didn’t believe you were, or that you would ever be. But hearing a bunch of Aphrodite kids practically admit to it hit a bit different.
“I think they like you.” Silena said. Some other kids quickly agreed.
“They get pretty nervous when you're around, and they seek you out whenever there's gatherings. Even when they don’t go up to you, they get more relaxed whenever they see you.” A girl, no older than eight, spoke up from a lower bunk. She was laying her stomach and coloring on a piece of paper while kicking her feat. Everyone turned towards her, questions in the air. The girl looked up and shrugged. “We make paper stars together.” And then she went back to doodling.
Clarisse chuckled. She was not going to underestimate an Aphrodite kid again.
Then, there was a knock on the door. You poked your head through the cracked open door and smiled at everyone.
“Hey, I was just wondering if- Clarisse!” You got more fidgety once you had noticed Clarisse in the chair.
She jumped up and rushed past you and out of the cabin. Shouts of “hey!” rang out from behind her, the most prominent one coming from the girl who was working on her nails.
The next morning while getting breakfast, Clarisse could admit to herself that she was most definitely a fool.
With one hand of painted nails and the knowledge that she had run away from you, she would much rather stay in her fathers dedicated cabin and not anywhere where the kids from last night could find her.
She set her breakfast down at Ares’s assigned table, making sure that her manicure stayed unaffected. A flowery scent passed behind her, and a note was softly dropped onto the spot in front of her. Once she opened it, the note on the inside read : ”Try flexing at training today! ~ Silena + Aphrodite cabin” Followed by a winky and kissy face.
The last thing Clarisse wanted to do was make a fool of herself in front of more than just you and one cabin. She was for sure going to look stupid showing off the muscles she had gained over the years, but maybe she was always a fool after she caught you looking at her while she stretched.
Training seemed to go by fast that day, and by the end of it she was sweating hard under the sun's glare. She placed her spear down on a bench and sat on the ground, trying to catch her breath from all of the extra moving she had done.
“Clarisse!” Oh boy, she knew that voice. You jogged over to her, a water bottle and towel in your hands. She got up off of the ground, making sure to purposely move her arms in just the right way. While she couldn't say that she was an expert on your expressions, she could say that you looked almost breathless.
“Oh-um, these are for you.” She smiled at you and took the two things from you and in an instant gulped down almost half of the water. You tilted your head to the side a bit.
“Only one of your hands is painted?” She raised her eyebrow before realizing that you meant her nail polish.
“Oh, yeah. I… I don’t really like sitting down for that long.” You nodded your head.
“That makes sense. That happens to me a lot.”
“Sooo, I’ll see you later?” Her simple question seemed to make you brighten up, and you watched as she picked up her spear and moved to go in the direction back to camp. She looked over her shoulder and winked at you, all while making sure to hold her weapon in a way to bring attention to her biceps and back.
The fire in the pit got higher as Clarisse poked around in it to make sure that it would keep burning. You were across from her on the bench on the other side, talking to two of her brothers and sisters, and whenever she would catch a glimpse of you she would take it as a sign to add to the fire.
The way her siblings were getting close to you, and the way that you would laugh and allow them to touch your arm. It left a burning feeling in her heart, and a sinking feeling in her stomach.
She focused on running her fingers over the thick stick that was used to help the fire.
“Clarisse?” Gods, your voice saying her name had to be her most favorite thing about her life, and for her to just hear like, you must really have a tight hold on her- her eyes flickered up, and there you were, standing in front of her, fidgeting with something small in your hands. “I got some black nail polish from Silena, and I was- I was wondering if I could paint your other hand?”
Clarisse was taken aback. But still, she sat up straighter and moved over a bit. “Oh, yeah, sure.”
You excitedly sat next to her and reached over for her hand. She put her hand into yours, and it felt as if the fire had gotten hotter, and as if fireworks were going off over your heads.
She watched as you focused and delicately worked on her left hand. Your work wasn't as precise as the other girl had been, but for some reason she enjoyed this more, with how your hands would shake and a deep frown would mark your lips in that way that if Clarisse knew that you liked her as she liked you, she would lean over and kiss you until you couldn't even frown.
Clarisse La Rue was most definitely in love with you.
Over the next weeks, you and Clarisse had gotten closer, but never close enough.
Whenever she wanted to hold your hand, she opted to fix your sleeve or to situate her hand on the small of your back.
Whenever you wanted to grab her and then kiss her till you couldn’t breath, you opted to fix her armor.
But despite all of the things the two wanted, you continued to dance around each other in a way that even Luke was getting tired of. But things changed after Clarisse had that dream.
The sky was clear, and it was a perfect night to have a picnic on the beach. Clarisse had provided the blanket and the food, and all you had to do was show up and give her the attention that she had been craving while she was too busy.
Things were getting more dangerous around camp, monsters getting closer to the barrier and less new kids showing up for that reason.
Clarisse could fight monsters all day everyday, but it was these nice nights that allowed her to get back the drive to do so. She was close to convincing you to just spend the night sleeping with her in her cabin, not caring how many rules that could potentially break. But if she wouldn’t get that, then she would have to love this. It wasn’t a hard task, considering that anything that had to do with you was something that she would love.
She felt you snuggle in closer to her side, and her heart soared as her arm tightened around your waist.
“It’s pretty cold, isn’t it?” you whispered, and she could feel your breath against her neck.
“Yeah, but the moon looks beautiful, right?” She whispered back and you grinned.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” She gently pulled off one of your arms that was around her to take your hand in hers, leading you into a simple type of slow dance waltz. She had never danced before, nor had she ever been taught, but she would do anything for you.
The two of you laughed gently, especially once one of you accidentally stepped on the other's foot. When it was nearing the early hour of one, she led you to sit back onto the blanket.
“I'm gonna find you a pearl.” She promised against your lips as you held her closely to yours. You brought her into a kiss, the best and most slow and sensual kiss she would probably ever experience. Once you drew away from her, you laughed a bit.
“Okay, good luck my love.” And so she bounded towards the water, wading in right at the spot she knew clams and oysters were.
Right when she was bending to pick one up, a scream peirced through the darkness.
Your scream.
You were yelling her name, and Clarisse dropped everything to try to make it to you faster. A cyclops had you in its grip and you were struggling greatly.
She wanted to shout that she had no weapon, and that you would have to use the power in which you had gotten from your godly parent.
But she didn’t shout, and she didn't move.
She just watched as you got eaten.
Clarisse woke up with a start, sweat clinging to what felt like every cell of her skin. She flipped off the blankets of her bed and jumped up.
Nobody else had woken up because of her yet, thank the gods. She wanted to see you, to take you in her arms and know that you were alright, and to tell you that she was sorry that she was so weak. But that wasn’t something she should do, and she knew that.
She sighed and sat pack onto her bed, running her hand down her face. There was no way she could be around you right now.
It was later that night in which you were finally able to track Clarisse down as she was sitting outside of her cabin.
“Clarisse, you skipped all of our meals together. Are you okay?” You were about to go sit next to her but she got up and began walking towards the forest.
You followed after her, speed walking to keep up. “Clarisse, wait! If something happens, we can talk- woah!” You were going down the path that you had followed her down so long ago, and while you weren't paying attention to where you were walking, you tripped over an arm of a tree that had fallen to the ground.
Clarisse whirled around and caught you before you could touch the ground, and you held onto her arms tightly to ground yourself.
“Wow it was a good thing you were there, Clarisse, or else-” but once you met her eyes, they looked watery. “Oh, honey, what happened?”
No tears had fallen, no matter how hard it looked as she was holding it all in. You reached out your hand and gently caressed along her cheek.
She then pulled you into a hug worthy of a bear, and while you couldn't hear her crying, you could feel the damp that had started to soak through the fabric of your shirt. She held you tight;y as you began to softly draw shapes onto her back, mostly hearts.
“I, I had a dream, and you died, and I love you, and I’m sorry I'm this weak and-”
”Shhh, shh, it's okay, hun. You are not weak at all, and you are justified in whatever you're feeling, okay? And… I love you too” You whispered the last part as she sniffled and pulled away from you a bit.
You looked into each other's eyes for a bit, and you found yourself falling into and appreciating her gorgeous brown eyes. She pulled you closer, and then she pulled you into a kiss.
Your arms moved to be around her neck as her hands that grip your hips loosened the more you both melted into each other. As you pulled away, doubt seemed to fall across her face.
“Are you sure you-” But before she could say anything more, you grabbed the front of her shirt to bring her into a second kiss, one that was just as good as the first one, if not better.
“I love you. And your muscles.” A grin broke across Clarisse’s face.
“I love you too.”
And then going in for a third kiss, she made a mental note to give thanks to the Aphrodite cabin kids.

Ooo we’re gonna need a KCC fic after her move to the arsenal
my heart has a little crush on you ✮ k. cooney-cross
pairing: kyra cooney-cross x reader
summary: it’s not a secret that you developed a small crush over a certain midfielder at the world cup, when you played against them. lioness!reader
warning(s): mentions of suicide.
⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ⋆✦⋆ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
“you’re absolutely joking?” you asked leah who gave you a small smirk that you desperately wanted to get rid of.
“i’m not kidding, l/n. kyra just signed a two year deal with arsenal, it seems you’d be seeing your crush sooner or later.” leah said. you haven’t checked your instagram yet, so you’ve heard from your skipper about kyra’s transfer.
despite leah not playing at the world cup, she was like an older sister figure for you. she’s the only one who knows about your crush on the australian midfielder.
“i’m absolutely screwed.” you said, as leah chuckled at your reaction.
“oh, come on l/n. it can’t be that bad?” you groaned as you thought about what happened at the world cup.
you had defeated the matildas in the semi-finals, when the whistle had blown you watched as your team celebrated. but you had taken the chance to comfort them, they did great after all, and the future is bright for the matildas.
you wanted to exchange shirts with kyra but when you were in front of her, you had tripped on the pitch sending the two of you to the ground.
“i accidentally tripped lee, sending both of us to the ground!” you yelled as leah grinned at you.
“but you still ended up getting the shirt.” you gave her a look, that was not the point. the point was your first interaction with her was bad, like really bad.
“yeah, it was still a mess.” you said, as she just shook her head.
it wasn’t that long before the team returned to london, after training at the adidas headquarters in germany.
you were late for the first time, as you swung open the door, you came face to face with leah who gave you teasing look.
“look who’s late.” katie teased giving you a grin, as you rolled your eyes at her behavior.
“it’s too early, mccabe.” you told the irish full-back as she snickered but held her hands up. you looked at lia who gave you a comforting smile, which you returned.
you removed your coat as it’s a bit chilly outside, not noticing a certain aussie behind you.
“you have a tattoo?” you accidentally had dropped your boots on your feet, a wince escaped your throat as lotte gave you a certain look.
you turned around coming face to face with the aussie who had been occupying your mind. she had a soft smile wore on her face, her dimples were shown which made you swoon.
“yeah, it’s the moon meets the stars.” you felt a lump in your throat as you cleared it. it wasn’t just a tattoo, there was a meaning behind it.
you felt leah’s eyes on you as she knew the meaning behind it. you didn’t like talking about it, because it reminded you about the past.
“is there a meaning behind it?” kyra asked, as you heard someone stood up abruptly.
“maybe one day, you’ll find out cooney-cross.” you said, as you pulled over the work out tank top that had the arsenal crest.
“alright guys, let’s head onto the pitch. it’s time for training.” kim said, as she entered the locker room clapping her hands. you gave kyra a small smile, before heading to leah who gave you a pat on the back.
throughout the whole training, you were a bit more quiet than usual. the team noticed it as you had a few sloppy shots on target, but had perfect first touches, you possessed the ball very well.
but they never scolded you for it, sure they gave you a look that you received, yet it was just that. as the training came to a break, you laid on the pitch. an arm was behind your neck, supporting it while your other arm was over your eyes, blocking the sun.
“are you alright, y/n?” kyra asked, as you removed the arm only to see her taking a seat beside you.
“i’m alright, you?” kyra gave you a soft nod, as she answered your question.
“i’m great, it’s a dream to be playing here.” you gave her a soft nod, understanding her. you couldn’t believe it when arsenal had offered you a three year contract, you currently have a year left once this season ends.
“i didn’t overstep, did i? when i asked you about the tattoo?” you shook your head, as you sat up straight.
“you didn’t, kyra don’t worry. the tattoo is for my bestfriend who died because she committed. i got this to honor her.” you said, as your voice broke at the end. kyra’s eyes widened.
“i’m sorry, i didn’t know.” you chuckled, giving kyra a soft smile who looked a bit confused.
“it’s alright, you don’t have to apologize. like you said you didn’t know.” she gave you a lopsided grin, as you tilted your head.
“would you perhaps want to go out one day?” kyra asked as you looked at her a bit confused.
“like on a date?” your eyes widened, as kyra gave you a small smile.
“when we were against each other, you caught my eyes. it was hard trying to not look at you.” kyra said, as you gave her a soft smile.
“i’d love to, you also did caught my eyes cooney-cross.” you said, as you spent the rest of the break making a small conversation, not noticing the way your teammates looked at you.
steph and caitlin were talking, as leah looked at you with a proud grin.

Hi! @spaghettigod69 convinced me to share a chapter of my WOF fanfic, so here you go :) I'll try to post these weekly. Is kinda long.
~Epilogue~
It was years after things with the Pantalan dragons were solved. Moon and Qibli were living peacefully in a Nightwing village in the rainforest. They were much older now, they had 2 dragonets. Star Gazer, and Astrion. They were quite the duo. Star never wanted to get into trouble, Astrion couldn’t get enough of it. Eventually, Moon and Qibli found out that their daughter was an animus! She was still new to it when they found out, but they worked things out. She made herself a soul guard, and she learned diligently over the years. StarGazer was very well developed in her powers now, but she rarely used them.
“Why should I?” Star asked, not really seeing a point.
“Well, you can use them for good, to help people in need! It really is a gift, honey. You’ll just have to see when you're older.” Moon said, placing her hand on her chest.
“You always say that though.” Star replied.
Well, it’s true. Some things just don’t make sense this young.”
“But you solved 2 world problems when you were my age. You helped an entire continent!”
“Well, I was lucky to have met your father and all my friends. We worked together to solve those problems. A lot of it was really pure luck and thinking.”
“Hmmm.” Star said sadly. “Fine. It’s no use arguing with you anyway.”
_____________________________________________________________________________________
The beginning
“Star! Get up, you have to go to the market!” Qibli called up the stairs.
“Mmmph. Coming dad.” Star called back. She came swooping down the stairs, feeling her earring swing a bit. When she got down the stairs, she grabbed a tree fiber basket and opened the door. A bright pink Rainwing met her gaze.
“Good morning!” The Rainwing sang. “How many dragons live in your house? Just a yearly check-up.”
“4. Moon, Qibli, StarGazer, and Astrion. And stormy, our sloth.” Star listed, backing away from the aggressive happiness of this Rainwing. She was ready for the reaction she knew the Rainwing would have.
“*Gasp* Your mom is Moon!? She’s like my idol! You're so lucky!” The Rainwing squealed, flapping her wings. “Can I have her autograph?”
“Yeah hold on. MOM! Somebody wants your autograph again!” Star called through the house. Disappointed once again.
Moon strided up to the door and smiled at the Rainwing standing at their door.
“Why hello there!” Moon said in her normal soft cheery voice.
“Uh hi! Wow! I can believe I’m meeting you! Can you sign my notebook?”
“Of course!” Moon said, getting one of her custom made pens from the table next to the counter. She signed the Rainwings notebook in her usual swirly nice talon writing. While they were doing that, Star pushed past them and spiraled into the air. She flew east toward the market. She didn’t really like it when strangers wanted to talk to her because of her mom. So she normally just didn’t tell people. Because they reacted like that. Star spotted the colorful stalls of the market and dove down. As she did, sweet smells of fruit filled her nostrils. She landed gracefully and tucked the poisonous barb she inherited from her dad. She carefully rolled her tail so she couldn’t accidentally stab someone. She walked to a light purple stall with flowers blossoming out of it. It was selling herbs and spices. The aroma was strong, it would overwhelm most, but not Star. She enjoyed inhaling the smells all over the market.
“Hello again Star! The usual?” The vendor asked.
“Yes please, thank you.” Star responded, nodding. As she waited for the vendor to finish wrapping the spices, she noticed a new stall, just across the street. It was yellow with several bits and bobs here and there. It looked like a sweet shop. Oh! It must be one of those new Silkwing shops from the ones that stayed here. I’ll have to visit. Just then the vendor finished up, and handed Star the spices.
“Thank you.” She said, before walking over to the Silkwings stall examining the bits and bobs they had. It was filled with strange candy things. It was like glass except it was made of sugar. They called them sugar drops and they came in a variety of colors and shapes. Flowers, stars, bugs, animals, and much more. They were very intricately detailed, with even the smallest details on point. A sky blue Silkwing with orange triangles along their spine and splotches of white sat behind the counter, looking quite upset. When they noticed Star looking at the sugar drops they perked up and smiled.
“Hello! Welcome to Sugar Dream! Each of the sugar drops you see were handcrafted by me and my father. Please enjoy them!”
“Wow, these look very impressive, sculpting with candy is something I would’ve never thought of. Oh, heh, sorry.” Star said, fiddling with her talons. “Anyway, um, I’ll have 4 of the star shaped ones please.”
“Of course! Those ones are my favorite!” The Silkwing said, looking happy that someone stopped to look at their stall. Star watched at the Silkwing boxed the sugar sculptures very carefully. As she handed them to Star, Star placed 4 sculltens (Coins) on the counter. Star delicately placed the box into her basket, making sure that she would not harm the things inside. She kept on with her journey through the market, gathering the fruits and spices her family needed. Eventually she made her way home, soaring through the jungle trees. She made sure to hold the basket very carefully so as to not spill any of the groceries. She landed on the porch of her home to find Qibli and Moon talking in a serious manner.
“I’m home! I found a stall that sells these Silkwing candies called sugar drops.” Star said, grabbing the pink box from her basket.
“Hey honey. Me and your father have been talking,” Moon said.
“Oh no.” Star began.
“We’ve decided to send you to Jade Mountain Academy. The school me and your father went to.” Moon continued, standing up.
“Why? Just why?” Star said, almost talking to herself.
“Well, we think it would be good for you to make some friends at this school. Besides, you would have needed to choose a school eventually. “ Qibli chimed in.
“I know but didn’t like 3 attempted murders and 2 actual murders happen at that school while you were there?”
“Well, yes but that was because of problems that we already solved. And besides, I want you to meet some of my friends who are teachers there.” Moon said, trying to change the topic.
“I don’t think I have a choice do I?” Star said, stamping her foot.
“You really don’t, no.” Qibli said, bluntly.
“Well, I wouldn’t put it like that, but you should start packing sweet heart.” Moon said.
“You mean it’s a boarding school?!” Star exclaimed.
“No, well, yes. It’s not in the jungle so you’ll have to stay there. But so will everyone else! So you won’t be alone!” Moon called after her daughter as she stormed up the stairs to her room. Star sat on her bed, fuming. Seriously!? Sending me to a school somewhere completely far away just because ‘We WeNt To It, NeH nEh NeH’ Ugh! Star thought angrily but still packed her things for school. She got her favorite leather satchel and placed her sketchbook, art supplies, the little star wood sculpture she got from her grandpa, her favorite books, and her notebook. She folded the top flap over and fastened the golden fastener. She placed the bag over her shoulder with a sigh. Although she guessed she’d be leaving within the tomorrow to next week time range, she still had the bag on her shoulder. Now was probably the last time she’d get to visit her favorite spots before she was swept off to a stupid boarding school. She climbed out her window, as using the front door would probably concern her parents. She soared through the air, feeling the warm jungle air on her face. It brushed past her scales, making her feel like a dragonet again. Free and fun. Without the restrictions of life. She looped through the trees to her favorite tree. A huge willow in the middle of the jungle. It felt so calming to sit upon its branches, sketching. The branches were the perfect spot for feeling the breeze. Star sat there once more, remembering all the sketches she made in this exact spot. The familiar chatter of younger dragonets rang out below. Laughing and joking. Smiling and playing, only worrying about what they’ll eat when they get home. They never had to worry about whether anyone knew about…that. Star couldn’t bring herself to think about it. Or at least its name. She decided to go to that sugar drop place again to cheer her up. She got a flower shaped one, with little chocolate details. It was quite delicious, but it didn’t help as much as Star hoped it would. She didn’t really know what else to do to cheer her up. She had no friends she could visit. Her family was too far away to be back by tomorrow just in case she did leave tomorrow. Her brother Astrion was probably cause-
“Hey! Over here! Pass it over here!” Astrion’s familiar voice yelled.
“Oh no.” Star said, turning to see what her brother was up to. He was racing through the trees with his friends, passing a pair of spectacles in between them. Behind them, there was a yellow looking dragon with Silkwing wings. She was clearly chasing after her glasses, running into several trees on the way. Star spiraled up into the sky and caught the glasses just before Astrion did.
“Hey!” Astrion shouted.
“Astrion, what are you doing? Didn’t mom tell you you’d get grounded if she found you bullying the Pantala dragons again?” Star scolded.
“So what? She deserved it! She was all ‘Umm, actually you can only take one per person at a time at the melon cart.’ So we stole her glasses for ruining our fun.” Astrion protested in his annoying voice.
“So you got mad at her because you weren’t following the rules? Yeah makes total sense, ding-dong.” Star said, soaring over to the crashing dragonet. “Here, I think these are yours. Sorry about my idiot brother.”
The dragonet reached up and picked her glasses out of Star’s hand. She put them on and blinked a few times before saying “Th-thanks. S-s-sorry to bother you.”
“No, it’s my brother that should be apologizing. But, since he’s a dung head, he’s probably not going to. So, I’m apologizing on his STUPID behalf.” Star made sure Astrion heard the word stupid and he snarled at her. “Now I have to get him back to mom so he can get in proper trouble for this.”
“Th-thank you.” The dragonet stuttered again before floating off.
“Now you.” Star said, turning toward Astrion. “Come on, we’re going home.”
“What? No! Mom’s gonna be so mad at me!” Astrion pleaded.
“I don’t care. You chose to be a little dung head, so, you’ll get scolded for it.” Star said, grabbing his wrist and flying him home. He was pleading the whole way home, but Star didn’t care, he deserved it.
“Oh MOM! Astrion was being rude to the Pantala dragons again!” Star shouted through the house. Moon came flying down the stairs looking disappointed.
‘Really? Again Astrion?”
“Well-uh-yeah but-”
“I don’t wanna hear excuses, you're grounded. For 2 months.” Moon declared, crossing her arms.
“2 MONTHS?! That’s not fair!”
“Oh yes it is. You chose to be rude, so you’ll suffer the consequences. What did he do this time, Star?”
“He stole a Hive-Silk’s glasses and flew away with them because she found him breaking the rules.” Star said, shrugging. She was holding her laughter. It always made her happy to see her brother get in trouble.
“Astrion! Not cool! Don’t you remember when you had glasses and all the other dragonets would steal them from you? Not cool!”
“Bu-but-”
“I don’t wanna hear it, young man, in your room!”
Star watched as he walked up to his room, his head hanging with guilt. Or he was just planning to sneak out later. Star had to try really hard to hold in her laughter.
“Now, honey. The school semester starts on Monday next week, so you’ll be leaving on Saturday so you can get settled.” Moon said, turning to Star. “So you’ve got 2 days to prepare. Oh, I’m so excited to see you going off to a new school! You’ll have so much fun and make so many friends!”
“Yeah, so many friends…” Star said, knowing that wasn’t true.
2 days later bc idk what to put here
Star woke up early in the morning on Saturday. Her satchel was already sitting by her bed. She sighed as she looked down at it, knowing where it will take her. She felt her earring thinking of all the things that could go wrong at this school. As she picked her satchel up she felt her sketchbook thump around. The only upside Star could think of was that she’d have new scenery to draw. Sure there was the ‘new friends’ thing, but as soon as she came home she probably wouldn’t be able to see them again for a while. Well, at least her mom promised her that she could fly there herself, instead of being embarrassed in front of a bunch of dragons she didn’t know. Star walked out of her room and down the stairs to find her mom and dad, sitting at the table with happy expressions.
“Look at you! All ready to go! Oh, I’m so proud of you!” Moon said, walking up and hugging her daughter.
“It’ll be great there. I know it. Besides, you’ll be back in no time if you miss us!” Qibli said, trying to cheer up his clearly sad daughter.
“Thanks, dad.” Star said, sadly.
“Hah! Look at you, going to a far away school! And you’re all sad like anyone’s gonna miss you!” Astrion called from the top of the stairs.
“Astrion! Go back to your room!” Moon scolded. Star could hear Astrion’s talons clacking on the floor.
“Don’t listen to him honey. We’ll miss you.” Qibli said, hugging his daughter. He let go and looked at her with a loving stare. “You’ll be fine. I promise.”
“Thanks, dad.” Star said. But sometimes a promise isn’t enough, Star thought. Before long, Star finished her goodbyes, stuck out her tongue at her brother one last time, and stepped out the door. She heard it shut behind her with a soft swoosh. Star crouched and shot into the air, finally flying towards her new life for a year.

SilkClan – Moon 9 Update By Snakepaw 🐾
Welcome back, SilkClan! Things have been buzzing (and not just because of bees...) this moon! It's the first moon of Greenleaf, and with it comes some fresh drama, unexpected promotions, and, of course, yours truly, keeping you in the loop.
🌕 Major Events:
Deputy Wisteriaspeckle! Can you believe it? Wisteriaspeckle has been made deputy! This moon started off with a bang as Basilstar named him the second-in-command. I mean, I can't say I didn't see it coming, but still, it's a huge moment for SilkClan. Wisteriaspeckle has always been steady and calm (well, except when he's dealing with Parsleypaw… more on that later).
Heatherpaw Joins SilkClan: Posyclaw and Parsleypaw found a sick kittypet by the Thunderpath, and guess what? They brought them back to camp! Heatherpaw has officially joined us now. It’s always a bit weird when kittypets make the jump to Clan life, but hey, let’s see how she handles it.
Duskplume’s Promotion: After all these moons of training and gathering knowledge, Duskpaw has been named Duskplume in recognition of their judgment! But get this: Basilstar almost seemed… intimidated? Yeah, I know, our fearless leader, feeling unsure! Duskplume’s got that kind of vibe though—wise, knowledgeable, maybe even more so than some older warriors. It didn’t take long for Duskplume to show that impulsive streak, though. They found bees building a hive in camp, attacked them, and, well… got swarmed. Basilstar wasn’t too happy, but what can you do?
🌿 Clan Life and Drama:
Wisteriaspeckle + Posyclaw Vibes: Wisteriaspeckle seems to be really in sync with Posyclaw lately. Every time they're together, Wisteriaspeckle looks the most relaxed I’ve ever seen him. But when it comes to Parsleypaw, not so much. Wisteriaspeckle thinks Parsleypaw isn’t exactly the most considerate cat around. Ouch.
Basilstar’s Awkward Moments: Basilstar’s been having some... let’s call them leadership blunders. First, there was an awkward attempt to wake up half the Clan—me included—for morning stretches. Yeah, Runningkit and Wisteriaspeckle weren’t thrilled. Then there was that embarrassing moment where Basilstar let Stoneraven walk around with a feather stuck to her face all day. Leadership isn’t easy, I guess?
Romance & Crushes: Posyclaw’s crush on Burrowfleck seems to be fading. But who’s caught Wisteriaspeckle’s eye? Well, let’s just say there’s some romantic interest brewing for both Cliffscar and Streakminnow. Meanwhile, Cliffscar and Basilstar are still playing the whole ‘will-they-won’t-they’ game with their feelings for each other. Oh, and Clear? She’s still all about her kits—hasn’t really bonded with the rest of us.
Jealousy, Fights, and Fun: Larkweb is still sulking about not being able to go to the last Gathering. Seriously, he’s jealous of Parsleypaw, of all cats. Though I did get to heckle another Clan with him at the Gathering, which was fun—nothing bonds cats like shared sarcasm, right? Meanwhile, Streakminnow accidentally stepped on Duskplume’s foot and pretended not to notice. Can’t say I blame her—sometimes you just don’t feel like apologizing. Oh, and Clear and Runningkit had a spat over fresh-kill, only to have it snatched while they were arguing. Classic.
Small but Sweet Moments: Not everything’s doom and gloom, though. Pondquill and Larkweb shared some fresh-kill together, and Robinpaw gave Pondquill a heartfelt congrats on a job well done. And Streakminnow thinks Duskplume is always reliable—a big compliment in Clan life.
Tension with the Kittypet Life: Speaking of Duskplume, they’ve been acting a little distracted during training lately, always glancing toward the border. Turns out they had a conversation with a kittypet, and now they’re wondering if it’s disloyal to have kittypet friends. Basilstar didn’t have much to say about that... seems like she's never really thought about it before.
🌿 SilkClan Life & History: Posyclaw’s been giving me a history lesson—seems like our ancestors once lived in a sheltered redwood grove. It protected them from the elements, gave them prey, and kept the kits dry. But then, Twolegs came and destroyed it all with their monsters and fire. The survivors scattered and eventually founded SilkClan here under the canopy. Makes you wonder if history’s always repeating itself...
That’s the latest from SilkClan! Greenleaf is here, and things are heating up in more ways than one. I’ll keep you posted—there’s always more to uncover.

Inner Demons (Part 3)
Silver struggles to cope with her changes (ft mention of @idiotwithanipad oc Amy).
"Good morning all- Oh! My word!"
Anyone would think the Edwardian matriarch had just stumbled in on a crime scene with the way she stopped in her tracks and clutched at the front of her dress.
But there was no blood or corpse to be seen in Higham Suite this morning. Just Julian and Robin sat at the chess table, Kitty and Pat listening to Cap talk about some interesting insects he saw on his morning run, and Silver sat in the papasan seat in the corner with her head buried in whatever book she was reading on the Kindle.
A neat little set up, the tablet held up by an adjustable stand at eye level, though they of course relied on Julian to turn each page. Or, as he'd discovered quite recently, Robin could click his fingers to make it turn too, as well as the remote - though sometimes he would accidentally turn devices off or cause the screen to crack. It was a learning curve.
The young Neo-Pagan looked up at the sound of the exclamation, finding the older woman's shocked and confused eyes focused on her.
"Morning, Lady B. Nice walk?" They'd heard Fanny's scream two hours ago but the woman always walked off her fall with a morning stroll before coming to find them.
"Y-yes, I..." She shook her head; "Good heavens, child, what on Earth are you dressed as?"
"Oh thank God someone mentioned it." Julian grumbled from the chess table. Robin grunted, giving him a light kick on his bare chin.
Cap just cleared his throat while Pat and Kitty bit their bottom lips.
None of them had said a word, as much as they'd felt the compulsion to ask, when Silver had walked into the room less than an hour ago. The girl had removed her overshirt and tied it up around her hair as a makeshift headscarf. Given how eccentric their monthly visitor could be, they all silently agreed it best not to mention it unless Silver felt the need to explain as she often ended up doing.
If anyone was going to bring it up and cast aside all thoughts of tact and respect, it would be Fanny Button.
"Oh..." Silver reached up to touch the fabric, making sure it was tight around her scalp. "I, uhm, decided to try veiling. All sorts of religions practice a form of it, even Pagans. It's just a way to learn to be...humble, modest and all that shit, y'know?"
She turned her face back to the Kindle, making it crystal clear that she wasn't interested in explaining any further. That made all the ghosts exchange weary looks. It was very unlike Silver to be brief when it came to explaining anything to do with her Wiccan faith. One of the reasons they'd learned not to ask questions when they saw something strange that she did was because she usually would ramble on for an hour or two, just explain the meaning of a rune or significance of certain herbs.
Which made it all the more ironic that this seemed to be the one occasion Fanny was interested in knowing more.
"I see. Well, I must say, that's rather an admirable discipline for a lady to take on, whatever her religion." The rare compliment stunned everyone in the room.
"Thank...you?" Silver squirmed, expecting there to be a follow up.
"However-."
There it was.
"Does it not ruin the intention of performing modesty if covering one's hair leaves the rest of the body so...exposed?" Fanny asked, her expression even more pinched than normal.
Because it wasn't simply the rather shoddy attempt to turn a shirt into a headscarf that drew everyone's attention, but how removing it meant the only clothes left on the young woman's upper body was the black boob tube covering her breasts, aside from the pentacle choker that remained on her neck.
There were more of her tattoos exposed now. Not just the lightning bolt on her arm but also a set of angel wings at the base of her spine and a triple moon symbol at the top of her right forearm. All of them clearly as much of an affront to Fanny's eyes as her near-naked top.
Silver bit the inside of her cheek; "I just worked with what I got. Did you guys even know that we can rearrange our clothes so long as they stay attached to us? Julian, maybe you should try wrapping your jacket around your waist like a kilt?"
"I'd rather die. Again. It's either trousers or nothing, thanks! You're not seeing me in a skirt while sober." The Tory replied.
"Good job Thomas isn't here." Pat muttered.
"I think your headscarf is beautiful, Silvy!" Chimed in Kitty.
"Thanks, babe." Silver managed a smile.
"Perhaps I could remove some of my dress to make one-."
"No!" Everyone in the room shot that suggestion down, even Silver.
"Look what you've started now." Fanny clicked her tongue.
"I didn't mean to start anything! You asked and I explained. It's my faith, it's my private practice-."
"And yet we all have to look upon it."
"Not all of us are complaining." Julian murmured, a little too loud, as Robin quickly reached across the table and grabbed his friend's wrist while it was about to push his pawn forward, twisting it hard, "Ow! OW!"
"She child! You no lookey!"
"It was a joke! And, seriously, child? I knew page 3 girls younger than her." Julian snorted as the caveman released him, and began rubbing at the bruise fading from his wrist.
"For once the sick pervert is right - I ain't a child." Silver frowned, though she knew there was no way of convincing Robin of that anytime soon; "But also do keep your eyes above my nose when you look at me, Fawcett, or you will quickly lose them."
"Noted." Julian cleared his throat and turned his attention back to his game, though his opponent seemed less eager to continue.
"Listen, let's not have a bad start to the day - Silver, pet, you coming with us for our bird watching club?" Asked Pat, with Kitty smiling hopefully at her to his right.
The urge to join in, for the sake of spending what short time she had with them all as well as getting out of the confines of the house, pulled at her. But there was more important work for her to do.
She shook her head; "I might catch up with you later. I'm gonna see if Amy's awake."
The group watched as Silver got to her feet, her hands fisted rather awkwardly at her sides, and quickly fled through the wall into the corridor.
"I swear, I shall never understand that girl." Fanny threw her hands up.
"She did seem in a rather odd mood, did she not?" Kitty asked with genuine concern; "It's the most quiet I've ever seen her be. But she seemed fine last night."
"Hmm, she does tend to wander these grounds alone while the rest of us sleep. Perhaps she saw something that put a damper on her mood." Cap theorised, "Like that time you walked in on those three in Room 7, Katherine."
The Georgian shuddered; "Oh, yes. Vividly."
"Anyway, I'm sure she'll be fine after a while, we've seen her bounce back from worse. Julian, Robin, care to join us?"
Julian sat back, slapping his kneecaps in disappointment; "As mind-numbingly dull as watching different shades of pigeons is, I should stretch these old legs."
"Also you keep losing." Robin pointed.
"Neither here nor there."
"Robin, you coming?" Asked Kitty as they began to head towards the door.
The caveman's attention was drawn to the now empty papasan chair, and the Kindle left on the last page Silver was reading. With a bored wave of his hand, he grunted that he might join them later on. There was a particular illustration on the screen that had caught his attention.
A crude sketch of a grotesque creature, humanoid in shape but its body skinny to the point there was barely any muscle except in its torso. Limbs long and joints awkwardly bent out at the wrong angles. Hairless. Not even an eyelash. Razor sharp teeth and claws that could impale a grown man through the chest.
Robin's knuckles moved up to stroke at the fur of his shift, the wolf cub snuggled inside just giving the slightest wriggle as she slept. He'd seen this thing before. Only...he couldn't quite recall when, or how long ago. His paw rubbed at his head, his primitive brain struggling to sort through ten thousand years of memories. Sometimes things got muddled. At worse, they got deleted to make room for more important information.
But if he recognised these things...that meant his brain considered them important enough to remember. Except, they couldn't be real, could they? Even the title of the book said enough. A Study of Sleep Paralysis and Hallucinations.
Sleep paralysis. Silver had been reading about this...because of what they had told her she suffered from each month, during her sleep? She'd always said she didn't remember. What about this particular page had she been so invested in that she hadn't called for Julian to turn it as fast as she had the others?
Fanny and Kitty had been right. His Moonah girl hadn't been her usual self that morning. Not just the outfit, which honestly he couldn't see the big deal about, he thought everyone was ridiculous for wearing flimsy cotton or silk instead of furs. She had greeted them with a smile and a good morning before claiming the Kindle for a few hours. But that was it. And it had felt very forced.
Something was up. He had a special sixth sense so he always could tell. But what? And what did it have to do with this...drawing of a fake monster?
And if there was something wrong...why didn't she come to him for help?
Amy was a lucky ghost. Somehow, without even meaning to, she'd called bagsies on the only other room besides Higham Suite that was always empty. Most likely because it was the room where she'd choked to death, as well as the proximity to Fanny's daily screams. The earphone wearing girl always got to appreciate a lay in without the worry of being disturbed by residents coming in and throwing their luggage on the bed as she slept.
Tugging her velvet coverings down, Silver walks down the hall, feeling her chest begin to tighten from the nerves. How was she going to explain this to her best friend? 'Morning, dude, nice dreams? So it turns out I'm turning into a monster...' Poor chick had to wait four weeks for her friend to wake up and then she has to deal with Silver turning into fucking Nosferatu.
But it made the most sense to confide in Amy before anyone else. After all, she'd been through something similar rather recently. And yet she was still here, regular human Amy, so if there was hope of it going away for her....
In the fog of her cramped thoughts, Silver walked head on into a taller man wearing a long red cloak coming around the corner. A bump, a jostle of surprise, then the sound of something hitting the floor with a thump.
"Oh! Humphrey, sorry!" Silver immediately grabbed his head off the floor and put back on his body's shoulders before it could stagger away; "I'm not with it today, honest."
"Ah, no worries. Happens all the time. 'Least you bothered to put me back on." The chipper Tudor waved off as he clicked his neck back on place beneath his skull; "If you're planning on seeing Amy, good luck. Girl is sparko on the bed and every attempt I made to get her up was met with a grunt and then a rather violent wave of her arm."
"It's what you get for adopting a teenager."
"Don't I know it." Humphrey chuckled with her, "Probably not going to bed till past midnight didn't help much."
Silver's cheeks reddened; "Sorry, that was me. Didn't realise she had a curfew."
"Nah, I'm only kidding you, love. I know a piece of paper don't mean I can control what she does."
No, but it did mean a lot. Especially to Amy, Silver knew that. That piece of paper meant the world to her. And she couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy whenever she laid eyes on it. She'd missed her chance to ask Alison to arrange something like that for her ghost parent. That's even assuming Mary would want to...
"How are things? Between you two?"
"Great! As far as I know. I'm sure she'd tell you otherwise...eh, has she told you otherwise?" He asks, pressing his fingertips together, unsure.
Silver grinned. He was rather adorkable in Dad mode. It was funny, while she'd never been super close to Humphrey, she'd thought of him as her friend and they'd bond over the shared pain of missing out on big events. But it was only with Amy's arrival and how the two had connected that Silver finally seems to get who Humphrey is more than she cared to notice before. He's a good guy, a really nice and sweet guy. The kind of guy who should have got to be a dad in life, so it seemed like a divine blessing that he got to be one in death.
"She doesn't so much as say stuff like that because it's always embarrassing to admit you actually love your folks...But she's happy. I'm sure of that." Silver tells him, truthfully.
Humphrey sighs; "Oh good. She's happier now you're awake though."
"Really?"
"Hmm. Think she's been counting down the days since Robin declared it to be "wax in Moonah" time of the month."
That got a snort of laughter out of her. It was a rather cute image and one she'd remember to taunt her friend with in future.
As Humphrey began to walk off to find the others outside, he wished Silver good luck in waking Amy without getting a shiner from a flailing fist.
She lingered outside the bedroom door. Her friend had been so excited to see her...and here she was, bringing news of something terrifying. Raising one hand, the velvet covering slipped down, revealing the long claws she'd been concealing all morning. Just like her head.
"Mine. Mine. Mine."
When it's still, when it's quiet, she hears it asserting itself within. No, she rejects it. She's not its or anyone's. Not ever.
The book she'd been reading told her nothing except humans have been experiencing sleep paralysis and seeing demons for thousands of years, if not more. All the myths and legends share similar details when these creatures appear.
But there was nothing about a person turning into a sleep demon. Maybe that was because no one knew how to study ghosts.
And if a ghost could become a demon...
"How that modesty trick doing?" The gruff voice behind her made her jump.
Robin? Fuck. He was supposed to be with the others.
His eyes were fixed on her exposed hand.
Shit. She tried to cover it again. Robin grabbed her arm, not too tight, yet firm.
"Moonah girl and Robin need to have little chat, me think."

I accidentally manufactured a royal family in HollowClan. so. here's them <3 elaboration below the cut
so here we start with the woman, the myth, the legend, Gorgespeck! she's not a founding member of the clan, but joined on Moon 11 so i often mistake her for a Clan Founder. A medicine cat with ambitions for family, she just kept. finding. kittens. She only kept 5 of them herself tho. She found Mossymouse, Shardsplash, and Yewdapple abandoned by their twoleg within the same moon of joining the Clan, and then had half-Clan kits Rainbowjay and Sprucekit. She died of old age after many moons of service to HollowClan.
Jumping ahead a little because her bloodline is shorter, we have Rainbowjay! Sprucekit is here too. (She died from being carried off by a hawk at 6 moons old.) Rainbowjay was a loyal HollowClan warrior, if a bit average. She died giving birth to her only son, Rootpelt, who she had with Spiderstrike. (I didn't want to draw mates because holy hell that would be a lot.)
Rootpelt's only personality trait is having a million cousins thanks to both his parents' littermates: Mossymouse on his mother's side and both of Spiderstrike's siblings. The man has a total of 0 siblings and 17 cousins.
Speaking of which.... THE MAIN EVENT. THE ADOPTER EXTRAORDINAIRE.
Mossymouse!... and her siblings Yewdapple and Shardsplash. Taken in as 5-moon-old kits, these guys really made names for themselves in the Clan. Well, Mossymouse did, anyway. Yewdapple was carried away by a hawk at age 23 and Shadsplash suffered the same fate at age 48. Mossymouse herself died on patrol at age 89.
In the meantime, Mossymouse was finding children left, right, and center! She was very involved in her kits' lives, even mentoring her daughter Hazyfeather. Being mentored by kin was something that tended to carry through the rest of the bloodline as well, as aunts and uncles mentored their nieces and nephews.
Shardsplash did mentor Coniferwhisker during her warrior apprenticeship, before she was forced to retire due to her paralyzation. After spending a moon feeling quite useless, Coniferwhisker took up the mantle as one of HollowClan's mediators. She is still able to do her work with help and exercise from the medicine cats, and she trains her apprentices well.
Hazyfeather was very close with her family, going on to give lives to her stepfather Ripplestar and her brother Mousestar. Icyseeker did much the same, being mentored by Ripplestar and then giving him a life. Kitehowl was mentored by the previous leader, Ibisstar, and went on to be a fierce warrior. The three sisters died to poison and yellowcough, respectively.
Oh, Mousemask. He never felt like he deserved the title of leader at all, and the guilt was doubled when he received lives from all three of his dead sisters. When pressed to choose a new deputy, he panicked, and chose his younger adopted sister, Patchrumble. He later stepped down from leader due to the stress and his age, wishing to spend the rest of his life with his mate, medicine cat Driftshade. He has one kit, an experienced warrior named Flickerfox.
Mossymouse became mates with Ripplesnow, later Ripplestar, and decided that he was allowed to share custody of the second litter that she found.
This litter was found by Mossymouse as newborns, and as such, they've never known any world outside the Clans as their older siblings might have.
Claypaw and Patchpaw were close during their apprenticeship, and Patchpaw went into deep grieving when Claypaw was killed on patrol. The grief hardened her, and she honestly swore off being as openly close with her brothers after that. Luckily, lesbians exist, and she now has a small family as leader of HollowClan, with her mate Honeyheart and adopted daughter Cinderpaw.
Pebbledapple's boldness mixed with Smokechaser's arrogance make for a dangerous combination. They get along by causing trouble, as brothers do. They're honestly lucky that they have the respect of their Clanmates to fall back on.
Mossymouse's third and fourth litters were small and short-lived, unfortunately. Cragstripe was a newborn found by the Clan, like his older siblings. He had a long apprenticeship due to the death of his first mentor, so Mousemask finished his training. He was a serious, no-nonsense warrior. He drowned alongside a Clanmate while on patrol.
Highfeather and Kestrelstripe were abandoned by another Clan, and their scent was well-disguised enough that HollowClan couldn't tell who had left them on their border. Kestrelstripe was mentored by Patchrumble, and the two grew close both as sisters and as teacher and student. She was honored for her kindness as her graduation ceremony, and went on to be a masterful teacher and lorekeeper in the Clan. She was found dead on the PythonClan border at age 41.
Highfeather was trained by one of the Clan's founders, Pantherfeather, in the ways of a mediator. She was distraught at her sister's death, and the next moon, set out to find answers. She presumably went in PythonClan's direction, but HollowClan never found her body, nor heard a peep about her from any PythonClan warrior.
This family could be so much bigger if I also wanted to include cats that Ripplestar adopted but Mossymouse did not. (because he did that. he had 3 kits with a cat from another clan before he became mates with mossymouse) not to mention, Spiderstrike has an entire side of her family that could be royalty as well, with her siblings having half-Clan kits of their own.
as a bonus for making it all the way through this post, you get.... a screenshot of rootpelt's 17 cousins!

💫Blissclan Moon 2 (Lifegen)💫
Start of Moon summary:
Honestly, nothing interesting besides me turning 1 Moon.
What else happened during Moon 2:
I went on a little walk around the camp and found some fresh moss for the elder's den. I tried to move it but it was too big for me and I landed up making a mess.
Both mediator apprentices want to make the clan proud for some reason. Idk why it's both of them but oh well.
Shadowfoot is just doing Shadowfoot stuff and found a tunnel in the clan's territory. I'm surprised he isn't deputy.
Tumblekit is close to becoming an apprentice and doesn't like the fact that other cats baby her.
My sister, Nightkit, is pestering older cats and asking them how kits are made.
While I'm playing with a feather, sneaking up to it more specifically, Troutpaw notices me doing so and decides to join me. I continue to hunt said feather with the best of my abilities and I actually manage to catch it. Troutpaw seamed to be so impressed with my abilities that he decided to parade me around camp.
I accidentally mixed up dirty moss with clean moss and my mother realised a little too late.
So with that unsuccessful event, I decided to playfight with Dogthunder. I lost that too...
I decided to play with my sister and she insulted me for even wanting to play some mossball. Rude.
Annoyed, I decided to talk to Waterstar but only landed up getting a rant about the clan or something
I'm starting to think our medicine cat is incompetent because they still hasn't gotten any herbs.
Allegiances for Moon 2:
How I look as a kit:
Well, that is all for this moon, Imma take a break.

The first time Pix meets Princess Gem of Dawn, she does a double-take, which is—fair, really. Neither of them say anything, then, because they’re not alone, and it would be impolite, but he can feel her watching him—and when she’s not looking, he watches her back from the corner of his eye.
She comes to visit him several days later, and it’s good that it happened this way around, because Pix is the only living person in the Ancient Capital, and the ghosts (probably) won’t talk.
“Pixlriffs!” Gem calls as she marches down from the gatehouse towards him.
“GeminiTay! To what do I owe the pleasure?”
“What are you doing here?” “The same thing as you, I reckon,” Pix replies.
She blinks at him. “Wait. You’re—”
“Yeah. You didn’t figure that out?”
“No! I was just like, what is happening? Hello?”
Pix frowns. “You know some people have doubles in more than one world, right? It might not have been me.”
Gem goes still, before brushing it off with a, “But it is you!”
“It is,” Pix agrees. “Still, you should—be careful next time. Wouldn’t want to accidentally break the Code.”
“No. Of course not.” Gem shakes her head. “So, what’s your whole thing here? I’m guessing you’re not actually an anthropology student,” she says wryly.
“Honestly, it’s not far off. Here I’m an archaeologist. I’m studying and documenting and preserving the history of this land for future generations.”
“You seem to have a theme going on.”
“Do you not have a theme going on?”
Gem shakes her head. “I mean, I’m a princess here! And back on Hermitcraft… Well, I guess I’m just Gem. I’m not sure if cottagecore is a theme.” She pauses. “Speaking of Hermitcraft…”
Pix winces. “You want to know what happened?”
“I just—I want to know if they’re okay. I mean, obviously False made it out—I saw her the other day—but the others…”
“They made it out,” Pix says. “Most of them, anyway.”
“And… the ones who didn’t…?”
Pix can only shrug. “I don’t know, Gem. I’m sorry.”
Her shoulders sag. “No, it’s fine. It’s not like you’re omniscient or anything. I just hope… Well. I should probably just get back to being a princess and stop thinking about it.”
“It’s alright to think about it,” Pix tells her.
She’s quiet for a moment. “You’re older than me,” she says at last.
“I’ve… been doing this for longer, yes,” he agrees.
“Does it get easier?”
Truthfully, Pix’s answer to that is it’s always been easy, but he’s never had the moon crash into his world before, so Gem’s probably taking it harder than most. He thinks for a moment before replying.
“There are different ways to handle the past,” he says at last. “You can move on from it, refuse to allow yourself to look back. You can cling onto it, and never let it go. Or… you can honour it. Give it a special place in your heart.”
“So, what, you just… treat it like one of your museum exhibits?”
“It’s better than the alternatives.” She looks doubtful. He smiles. “You can think it over. I’m sure you’ll come to a conclusion that works for you.”
“...Right.” Gem sighs. “Well, I guess I’ll be seeing you around, Pixlriffs.” She pauses on her way out. “Thanks.”
“Of course.” Pix waves. “It was lovely meeting you!”
“We already—oh. Yeah, it was nice meeting you too!”
She waves back, and then she’s gone, and Pix is turning back to his crypt. Gem’s got a good head on her shoulders. He’s sure she’ll figure it out.
#magpie feather quill#this is based on my headcanon that pix is the same kind of interdimensional celestial being that gem is#(eventually i'm gonna write a longfic in this verse but for now. these are vague pieces of it.)#.#..#hermitcraft#empires 2

You know what, I think the reason why the Snitch is worth 150 points is rooted in siblings bullshittery.
It was originally worth 15 points, and then playing in the backyard some eldest sibling was a sore loser and said it was fifty not fifteen, which later changed to hundred and fifty when somebody was updating the official rule book. They accidentally combined the 15 and 50 thing, and everybody just went along with it.

RAB fics I read (13-22nov)
En Avant by bluerosebouquet oh my gooood. This one is *chef kiss*. Modern AU, James is trying to cope with losing Lily (reasons unknown) and raise Harry who's like 4 with the help of his whole friend group. Then Sirius gets a word that his brother Regulus is back in town and is really upset about it and refuses to make contact when Regulus passes on his phone number. BUT SURPRISE SURPRISE REGULUS IS THE BALLET INSTRUCTOR IN THE DANCE CLASS THEY SIGNED HARRY FOR! And James just can't see the monster Sirius made Regulus to be. (We learn all that Black Brothers Backstory in like chapter 23.) And they start talking, and James catches feelings, and he battles with the guilt of betraying Lily's memory as well as betraying Sirius and it's just really interesting, I love it.
Deep Blue Waters by ThatBlueNiffler Regulus gets himself sorted to Ravenclaw to escape his mother's machinations and not join the death eaters only for Grandfather Arcturus to be like "Sup kid you're going to become a Death Eater so that you can spy on them". slowburn Jegulus (they catch feelings pretty early on tho)
Black Moon by ouzell Regulus survives the cave, makes a deal with dumbledore, becomes a spy, tells his mum to go fuck herself, gets himself kicked out, and becomes roommates with Remus Lupin. basically Oh My God They Were Roommates but in the middle of a war
Let’s make the most of this by jelfulry !!! Trans Sirius texts a wrong number and catches feelings for the dashing Moony, also he has a son named Leo because teen pregnancy, and James and Regulus are dating
Wildflower by orphan_account Remus/Regulus smut, pure, easygoing smut
A Passing Dream by Elfflame Lily walks in on Regulus blowing Remus in an abandoned classroom
career goals: tyrant by justwhatialwayswanted :D :D :D
Waters Run Deep by knight_bus_of_doom :D :D :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whatever I Want (Whatever That Is) by xylodemon remus and regulus have a secret sex thing going on
When did you last check? by camichats james: we're dating / sirius: wait what? impossibel *founces away to bother regulus* / Regulus: go bother your boyfriend / Sirius: the betrayal??? / James: :D
The Long Game by lackadaisical_lizard modern high school, jock james and artist Regulus get roped in the theatre club production! ft. Remus&Regulus friendship and monstermachine Lily
Pyrrhic Victories by dollteeth It's not Regulus' fault nobody else can appreciate a good Quidditch tactics
Toujours Pur (of Heart) by Nillegible for nitilia Regulus wants to say goodbye before the cave, Sirius shows up in his animagus form
(Not) Always Brave by Nillegible why was Sirius afraid he would betray James and Lily if they made him their secret keeper? it was simple, really - he still cared for his brother.
The Serpent's Tongue by Equinesandcanines sirius gets sorted into slytherin despite his best efforst, still becomes besties with james and peter (remus is ravenclaw). Reggie is a cutie
The Marauders and the Prisoner of Azkaban by SilverShadow1 ♥
On The Theory of Spontaneous Generation by FantasticalFairyFarmer harry luna hermione ron and neville have an accident in the department of mysteries battle and are yot to the late 70s. They're managing pretty well imo. Regulus is a stuck up cutie i want to bite him
to the dark lord by justwhatialwayswanted :D :D :D
Mark My Skin so I Can Laugh at Your Little Girlfriend. by Anonymous Regulus polyjuices himself as lily and fucks her boyfriend (his crush)
Beat Me Unconscious and Tell Me It's Love by Anonymous Jegulus, Regulus wants pain to equal love so that he can feel like his mother loved him. James safewords
From a Distance by unsmokedroses James has a part time summer job in his parent's bookshop and falls head over heels for a regular customer. i love the trope subversion, usually it's regulus behind the counter!
Salt in the Wound by saintsirius jegulus had a messy break up (my bet is it was regulus' parents threatening him) and now they have to act in a movie together! neither is over their feelings.
All of You, All of Me (intertwined) by ajom28 james is an actor and after a bad break up and bad publicity and two years of break he has a chance of making it back on the movie screen. the only problem? he needs some positive PR. Regulus is in a band and they're >this close< to a world tour, but the company wants them to gain more media attention first. Their managers are friends. say hi to fake dating! but Regulus and James absolutely despise each other. Can they get along for the sake of their careers (and for Sirius)?
We are younger and older now by PandaJ Regulus died. Evan died. They wake up the same night, back at Hogwarts.
Blood and Water by euphorial_docx the last of us jegulus au
Teach Me by gaycowboysyd regulus kisses a stranger in the bar only to find out later that fghj that's a father of one of his pupils. AND his brother's best friend!
Gods Under Broken Skies by SlyRaven_394 Regulus dies in the cave and is returned to the night Sirius is leaving. And, see, he's tired of this shit. Kreacher should be allowed more arson more often, as a treat ♥
Diptych by pansysnarkinson I would strangle Gandalf-ish Dumbledore his own natal chord if I could, I can't even. I hate that man with my entire being
R&J by catastropheof79 sirius ran away from home but he needs to get the key Alphard left him to access the inheritance. Cue in James crashing parties and climbing through Regulus' window to plot a heist. IT'S A LOVE STORY BABY JUST SAY YES

BABE , i saw a hc ( i think it was urs) where the boys’s s/o was really fashionable, ( as somebody that’s gone viral on pinterest a little too many times ) I WAS WONDERING , what if you did a todobakudeku ( separately please omg) with somebody that’s like the emma chamberlain of fashion and they own everybody’s pinterest boards and stuff AHAHA IDK , the amount of times somebody has said ‘ wait ur that one pinterest girl right?? ‘ ANYWHAHEEIE I LOVE YOU N HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!! 💗💗
pinterest famous s/o
character(s) : midoriya izuku, bakugou katsuki, todoroki shouto (bnha)
legend : [Y/N = your name] afab! reader, they/them pronouns (at the request of anon) strong quirk hinted; not specific
headcanon type : fluff, crack-ish (x reader)
note(s) : thank you anon!! so ok, i still used they/them pronouns even though the reader is afab (again at the request of anon) and whdjwkd sorry for the inactivity :,) also im gonna post more later so— sorry for the delay
»»————- ♡ ————-««
midoriya izuku
when middle school midoriya finally got a phone, he downloaded pinterest for the sole purpose of looking at screencaps of heroes
but then, he hasn’t touched it a few months, because he’s been training with all might
then, when he finally had enough free time again— he decided to go on pinterest
but instead of finding any heroes he could look at, he found the prettiest human being he has ever seen in his entire life 💀
that person was a different type of beauty, y’know— they weren’t just fashionable, but their beauty was,,
timeless? that’s how he’d describe it. yeah. that person lived in his head rent free for a while
sadly, he feels like you’re that person he sees once in his life, and never again 😔 which isn’t the case
when he finally meets you, midoriya realizes that you look VERY familiar— someone on pinterest, that he unfortunately, didn’t know the name of
but then wait! he realizes that you’re that person. that one person that blew up on pinterest, and ended up in all of the fashion boards.
okay, you’ve been recognized a few times in the past, just because you were pinterest famous— but you didn’t expect him to recognize you
“wait,, you know me?” you asked him when you saw the realization sink in
and you were honestly,, flattered when he went on a tangent on how you were on all of the pinterest boards, and how your sense of fashion was timeless
but you know what’s the best thing of it all? when izuku developed a crush on you (and not because he thought you were just an attractive face)
it was very easy to find pictures of you online! he says it’s for research but,, he tends to look at them for a long time
probably has 3-4 pages dedicated to your hero costume— since fashion icon = fashionable, yet a very practical hero costume!
does he get jealous whenever people fawn over your looks, or whenever he sees comments in pinterest comment sections just asking for your socials in such desperation?
hmm,, yes? he does occasionally feel like someone like you, should be with someone as equally beautiful as you
he thought he was always plain looking, but you wholeheartedly disagree! in fact, you fell in love with his ability to pay attention to detail.
to the random creeps in the comments section, he just contacts the uploader and asks them to delete any malicious comments and it works 100% of them time.
on the brighter side, he helps a lot with taking your pictures (if you ask him to) and sometimes! he’ll even appear in them
izuku will always be your #1 fan!
bakugou katsuki
at first, you’d be like “katsuki owning pinterest? naaah.” but! i think he would
being an all might fan, he liked looking at all might screen caps— and while katsuki would be on the discreet side, he’d find himself looking at them whenever he has extra minutes to burn
not to mention, the cooking recipes on there aren’t the worst, so he doesn’t just use pinterest to look at screen caps of heroes doing their work
and, how could he forget that you’ve been bugging him to search for rare screen caps? he says that it’s useless— but he finds himself digging for you anyway,
which is whyyy
he finds an entirely different rabbit hole, and it’s way past 10pm, 3 more minutes wouldn’t wound him.
the blond doesn’t know how he even stumbled on.. this side of pinterest. the one that kind of hurts his eyes.
the more well known side of pinterest, that is covered in pictures of fashion boards, and the standard pretty person.
the ‘aesthetic’ side, kaminari calls it— it makes bakugou cringe, and he was just about to refresh his page
when he spots something familiar, it’s you‼️ well it wasn’t just you but, you were dressed in something,, nice.
like sure! you’re attractive. but that’s not why he’s dating you, there’s a lot of reasons as to why
but, he’s baffled. seeing you in a different light, and in such nice clothing, what more, when he sees that you’re actually everywhere. he hasn’t seen this much of you and your attractive ass before
katsuki told himself that he was going to sleep a few minutes ago, but now? he’s left admiring all of your pictures.
how did he not know that his s/o’s pinterest famous? you’re practically in every single board!
he confronts you the next day in an oddly weird manner, “you didn’t tell me you were famous on that stupid pinterest app.”
you’re sheepish, “welll, i didn’t know that you were going to stumble on that side of pinterest!”
he doesn’t say anything, and really! it looks like he doesn’t care about the newest discovery of his s/o
but he shows his feelings in his own way.
like, how katsuki insists that he finds a new outfit that you’d absolutely love— one that’ll fit with your aesthetic
and that he insists that he does your graphic liner, because you’re going to ‘poke your eyes out’
makes an entirely different account to reply to those simps and creeps in the comment section, sort of like
random pinterest user : “the things i’ll do to be crushed by them 💦”
pinterestuser461903 : “go touch some fucking grass.”
also would’ve commented “your art sucks” at the poorly done drawings of you in the comments, but knows you appreciated the art— so he doesn’t
(still thinks the fanart doesn’t do you enough justice)
he’ll be super proud when someone notices you in person like “yeah that’s fucking right, but too bad they’re super attractive and way out of your league.”
in short, it looks like katsuki doesn’t care at all about your pinterest famous life, but he’s your #1 supporter
todoroki shouto
i am certain for this one— he doesn’t have pinterest
well, he didn’t have pinterest, until midoriya convinced him to create an account, but it kinda just ended at that
but the person that actually made him use pinterest was sero, because he kept bugging him to give it a try
todoroki finds the app very practical— he can find screen caps of heroes in action, and he can also find oddly helpful tips in cooking (and in anything)
but sero was like “todoroki, what about the aesthetic value??” and todoroki didn’t really get that part to be honest 💀
todoroki, being clueless didn’t know what to search for— so sero being the wonderful friend he is, helped him search for it
and that’s when it happened. it didn’t take that long, but they eventually found an entire section just full of pictures of you; their classmate and crush
“is that Y/N?” mina notices what they’re looking at, and she observes the picture “oh wow— it is her! no wonder why she looked familiar.”
“it’s impressive! our classmate is pinterest famous!” they continue to look at every single post in each board, and todoroki’s left to observe in silence
he has definitely taken a liking to you, even if he didn’t realize it at first— he liked you because of your hard work when it came to training, personality and patience, not because of your looks
obviously, todoroki thinks that you look good in anything, trashbag style or not. but seeing you in this light was interesting.
so after training, todoroki would spent a good portion of his time scavenging for more pictures— not because he was obsessed or anything
but because,, he really liked your pictures. maybe it was because without you in those pictures, it would feel incomplete
he didn’t know how to approach you after this discovery, which is why he’s glad that you approached him first
“todoroki! what are you looking at?” you took a peak at his screen, and you’re baffled to see yourself, and that very famous picture of you
he’s quiet for a second when he realizes that you’ve caught him staring at your pictures, but he explains calmly, “sero accidentally discovered your pictures,, and i just wanted to take a peak at them, if it was okay,,”
and he’s relieved— well, you’re also relieved. you didn’t know how your crush would react if he ever saw those pictures, but your heart skipped a beat knowing that he enjoyed looking at them
“it’s alright todoroki,” you smile, honestly over the moon as you spoke “i’m really glad that you like them.”
sometimes you’d get shy whenever he’d go on pinterest just to look at your pictures, “todoroki, not that one! that one was really old,,” is what you’d say whenever he’d look at your older photos but he’d still look at them anyway 💀
at first, todoroki helped you in his own subtle way. since he’s quite the fashion icon— he’d recommend you clothes to wear for future pictures
he eventually confessed— and it was because you were talking to him while he was really tired, and he blurted out that he really, really liked you and you almost passed away because of his words
so yeah— it was a case of secretly admiring their beautiful best friend to lovers scenario
he’d go the full mile when it came to taking your pictures. he’d check the weather forecast just in case if it was going to rain for that date, and impromptu picnic photoshoot
that boyfriend that has pictures of you in his photo gallery, and has a backstory for each photo if anyone were to ask
also that boyfriend that knows how to take pictures, will probably even lay down to take them, even if you didn’t kindly ask him to
when you asked him to join the picture, he didn’t really know how to— but he made it work! and the both of you guys went viral
but this isn’t all one sided, no— whenever you guys would cuddle, shouto would simply stare at you with HEARTS in his eyes,
and even before he leans in for a kiss, he’ll stare at you with so much love in his eyes, while he traces his thumb across your cheekbones. man’s in love— you’re gorgeous.
he knows that you know that he’s not with you because of any ulterior motive, you both have mutual trust in each other— so it’s not something you guys will bother on questioning because you’re both hot asf lets be real
he’s not uncomfortable whenever people gawk at you in public— i mean, you two get stares on the regular. and how could they not stare at you? you’re very attractive, and he’s glad that people recognize that
but he’ll get protective if they’ll try to be a threat to your loving relationship with him, he won’t be afraid to be blunt
regarding the comments on each pinterest post— he hates it when people say things out of the line
always tries to hide them from you so you don’t feel bothered by them, but if you knew about them— he’ll be sad :,(
but he’ll end up mass reporting those nasty comments— and they always get taken down, because of the shouto todoroki luck
in short? man’s whipped, and the both of you guys are SO attractive together— what more if people knew about the om chemistry?
really— you being pinterest famous was just a nice plus, he fell in love with you for you

Voices.
Pairing: Chris Evans x F!Reader
Genre: nothing but floofy-floof
Warnings: none
Requested: nope
Summary: in which you can hear the voice of your soulmate in your head and Y/N's soulmate is someone really special— her celebrity crush.
Author's Note: Hiya peeps! do y'all know how long ago I wrote this fic, like— at least 2 years ago. damn. so in advance, im sorry if there are any grammatical mistakes or bad punctuation in the fic that I forgot to correct (apology for bad english 😌)
oh and
bold/italics - chris
only italics - y/n
---
Hey, you still there?
Y/N snapped out of a trance and focused on the voice. Yeah, yeah I'm still there, she thought to herself. She was hearing the voice of her soulmate, or rather, was speaking to him, telepathically. The thing is, you could hear the voice of your soulmate in your head. You could talk, hold conversations, but the only thing was that you couldn't ask for their name.
You had to guess. Most of the people made plans, like let's meet here or there and concentrate hard enough, I'll see your name written on a paper. It was a thing, I mean, if you concentrated hard enough, you could see what your soulmate was doing. It was like a cheat code of sorts. Most of them found their soulmate in that way.
You see, Y/N loved surprises, so she wasn't going to find her soulmate just yet. Y/N wanted to figure it out for herself. Your soulmate couldn't hear every single one of your thoughts, though (which was how she had zoned out mid-conversation). Listen, we should meet up sometime.
Aw, already? she thought with a pout on her lips. Yes, I'm very excited to meet you, I've been waiting for too long, the voice replied, chuckling. It was a manly voice, really deep and raspy. She loved it. When Y/N was small, about 4-5 years old, all she could hear were swear words and dirty thoughts; characteristics of a teenage boy.
From that, she inferred, that soulmate was much older than her, about 8-9 years older than her. She didn't mind, She was kind of into older guys anyway… But I like this game we have! Why do you want to ruin it? she asked, shaking her head. Alright, sweetheart, just for you, I'm holding back. But I don't have much patience, the voice laughed. Y/N smiled.
Without even meeting her, Chris loved the voice in his head. She sounded so sweet and welcoming, maybe she was younger than him. He couldn't wait to meet her. Chris had tried to plan their meeting for so long now, but she just wouldn't give in. She was also a feisty one. He smiled to himself as he walked down the street, engaged in thoughts about his soulmate.
In his haste, he accidentally bumped into someone. "I'm so sorry!" he blurted out, instead hearing a soft ouch, shit in his head. His brows furrowed. The lady he had bumped into just kept on walking. Are you alright? he asked his soulmate in his mind. Yeah, just bumped into someone while walking.
I bumped into someone just now too! he told her excitedly, still staring at the lady who had now stopped in her tracks. She turned around, scanning the crowd. Then she looked at him, but maybe she didn't realize that she had bumped into him. Holy shit, I see— Then it all went blank. See what? Chris questioned desperately.
He still wasn't sure whether the woman he had just bumped into was his soulmate or not.
Why can't I say the name of the guy who played the role of Captain America?
Chris froze and stared at the lady, jaw dropped. She was lost in her thoughts, confused. He slowly walked to her and stood in front of her; she stared back at him, her heart racing. This was her celebrity crush, who was currently looking at her as if she hung the moon. But why? Why was he looking at her like that?
"You can't say his name because that's me, you technically can't say his name because you aren't allowed to," Chris whispered to her, smiling softly. Her eyes widened.
"You! You're the voice I hear in my mind! Chris freaking Evans is my soulmate?! How did I not realize?!" The woman exclaimed, shocked. Soon though, she got a wide smile on her face. His eyes widened too, hers was the voice he heard as well! "What's your name?" he asked her as they hugged. "I'm Y/N Y/L/N," she replied, smiling.
"Wanna join me for a coffee?" he offered, holding his hand out. She put her palm on top of his and nodded. Both of them entered a nearby coffee shop. "So, what do you do?" he asked her after ordering two coffees. "Nothing. I'm unemployed right now, just got out of my last job. I gave an interview yesterday at Ralph Lauren, just waiting for a call back," she shrugged.
"Oh, into fashion?" he asked her, smiling. "Yeah, got my degree and all. Just needed a job, Ralph Lauren offers a good amount of money," she chuckled. Chris smiled again. "Reminds me of Rachel Green." She laughed more, which warmed his heart. Her laugh was adorable. Suddenly, her phone rang and she looked at him, wide-eyed.
He nodded dismissively and she picked up the call. She spoke for a while and when she ended the call, she had the biggest smile on her face.
"I got the job at Ralph Lauren, I'm starting tomorrow!" Y/N squealed. They couldn't have picked a better timing. "Congratulations, Y/N!" he told her, grinning. After spending some more time at the cafe, they parted ways. She went home while he went back to the sets where they were filming Avengers: Age of Ultron.
"Hi Chris, you were out for a long time, what's up?" Chris Hemsworth asked, smiling at Chris Evans as they stumbled upon each other. "Nothing, just met my soulmate, had a cup of coffee with her." The older Chris feigned nonchalance. "You what?! That's awesome, man! So, how is she, what does she do?" Hemsworth asked him excitedly as both of them walked inside.
Robert and Scarlett were there, talking. "She's so beautiful, I stopped functioning when I saw her. She works at Ralph Lauren, she's a fashion designer," Chris told him with a smile. Robert and Scarlett looked up. "Who?" Scarlett questioned. "Y/N," he said simply, sitting beside Robert. "Who's that?" Robert inquired. "My soulmate." Chris smiled, as if in a trance.
"Boy, you look like you're in love," Scarlett laughed. "Because I am, she's that beautiful," he told her adamantly. "Whoa, did you ask her out?" Robert snorted. "I'm back from our first date." We had our first date right now, didn't we? he asked her in his mind.
Of course we did, I loved it. Hope to meet you again soon, her voice replied and he could practically feel her smile.
Sure, I'm in town for a few more months, I'll mind-text you as to when I'm free, he told her, sporting a smile on his face. She outright laughed in the comfort of her own home. Mind-text? Sounds fun, she agreed and focused on the Netflix series she was watching, turning off the "magical telepathic link" between them.
Chris, too, focused on the others only to see them smiling at him. "Talking to her?" He nodded at Scarlett. A few minutes later, all of them went to another room to begin with the shooting of a new scene.
---
Y/N danced as she prepared dinner, singing along to You Don't Know Me by Jax Jones. It had been a month since she last saw Chris. He had promised her a date, but he didn't get time. She couldn't blame him, he was a busy man. Y/N was shouting the lyrics of the song in her head, unaware of the fact that Chris was snooping in on her mind.
Hey, calm down, she heard Chris chuckling in her mind and shrieked in real life. What are you— are you snooping on my mind? Chris! she thought, scandalized. He laughed more. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I wanted to ask you out. Are you free right now? We could meet in the same coffee shop, he asked. She grinned and nodded to herself. Of course, I'll be there in 15.
She quickly got dressed, wearing a pair of track pants and a t-shirt (like she was wearing on their first date). She didn't bother with her hair or makeup, it looked good anyway, she just bolted out of the house. Y/N entered the coffee shop to see Chris already sitting there, wearing a suit. She cursed herself mentally, making Chris look up.
He stifled a laugh. She went and sat in front of him.
"I'm so sorry I look like a single mother of two kids who hasn't slept in a year," she moaned, "I didn't know you were gonna show up in a suit." She facepalmed for good measure. "It's quite alright, you look beautiful. I wouldn't have you any other way, I should say. I'm coming back from a party right now, therefore the suit."
She blushed softly at his compliment. He ordered two coffees for them and they started talking. "So, how's your job at Ralph Lauren?" Chris asked, smiling at her. "It's amazing, I got promoted. Now I'm the head of the department, with my own office and all," she told him, smiling back. "That's great! Oh, congratulations, honey," he grinned.
"Thanks," she muttered, blushing slightly when he called her a nickname. "You look cute while blushing, has anyone ever told you that?" Chris winked as their coffees arrived. "No one, ever. I don't interact with people much, it's a tedious job," she half-joked, smiling.
"Really! So who are the people you talk to?" he joined in. "Well, there's my assistant, my mother, my bro and you. That's all. I've got some friends, but I rarely talk to them, only on the phone while texting, that is," she shrugged. "Nice, nice," he nodded as they finished their coffees. "Allow me to drop you home," Chris offered, taking out a key which she found out was for his bike as they left the café.
"No it's alright, I'll go," she refused immediately. "Nonsense, you're practically my girlfriend! I'm going with ya," he shook his head. They looked like an odd couple; one wearing a suit while the other looked like she had just woken up. Surprisingly enough, the one who looked like she just woken up had the best fashion sense among them. "Hop on," Chris grinned.
She sat down behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist. Both of them chatted for the 2 minutes that took them to get to Y/N's home. Once they reached her building, she got down from Chris's bike and turned to him.
"Thanks, Chris, this has been an amazing second date. Can't wait for the third," she told him with a smile. "Me too," he smiled back. A few seconds later, she turned to leave but Chris suddenly grabbed her hand, turning her around. "Wha—" She didn't get to finish her sentence as Chris pressed his lips to hers. She kissed back, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"I just had to, sweetheart," he panted as they pulled away from each other, breathless. "Wow," she breathed out as Chris rested his forehead against hers. "So, um, see you on the third date, yeah?" Y/N giggled as they stepped away from one another, smiling. "I'll make it as quick as possible. Can't stay away from you, darling," he winked.
"How flattering," she winked back and turned to leave, purposely adding a sway to her hips knowing that he was watching. And fuck, was he watching. "Oh, the things you do to me, my dear Y/N."
"I heard that!"
"Good!"

hopelessly devoted [2]
Pairing : Sebastian Stan x reader │regency au
Summary : When Y/N Brighton finds herself suddenly married to a strange older man, she thinks her life is completely derailed. Wha happens when she starts to get close to him?
Warnings : smut, lil bit of angst, fluffiness
Word Count : 3.2k
Notes : Y'all I kinda suck at dialogue, so I'm sorry if it sounds weird lol. Also I'm sorry it's a little late, I was trying to aim for Sunday morning but oh well. This will also be the last part of this lil mini series. I had lots of fun writing it. Hope you guys like it! Also just a little last note, this is my first time writing a full smut sequence (cuz I am very much I experienced, if you catch my drift) so apologies if it’s not the best :)
here's what I listened to while I wrote :)
find part 1 here!
It was in the very early hours of the morning when Y/N shot up from her sleep. Her brain was buzzing from a dream she couldn’t quite remember. She had awoken with a gasp, the feeling of falling bringing her out from her deep slumber. The night was still dark, the moon slowly making its way back under the horizon. She rubbed her eyes with the heel of her hand, stars sparkling behind her closed eyelids.
The house was in such complete silence, you could hear a pin drop. Y/N sat there, for a moment in the dark. It had been three days since the party with Sebastian. As much as she tried to open up to him, it was nearly impossible as he continued to retreat into his office, asking not to be disturbed. Leaning back on her pillows, she stared at the empty side of her bed. Reaching over, she smoothed her hand over the untouched sheet as if to try to imagine how warm it would be if her husband had slept there.
“He’s probably sound asleep in his room, his dreams far away from me.” She sighed, swinging her legs out from under the covers and stepping out of bed. She pulled a thin robe over her nightgown, shivering slightly at the cold fabric. She grabbed a lit candelabra, holding it gently as she made her way down to the kitchens. She only realized she had forgotten her slippers when her feet had touched the cold tiles of the kitchens. Placing the candle on the counter, she opened the fridge and took out a small glass jar of milk. She sat down in front of the candle, staring into the dancing flame.
Sebastian was cold under his sheets, not having retired to his bed long ago. He tossed and turned, huffing as he sat up in frustration. Sleep seemed to evade him in every way possible. He made his way down to the kitchen, not having bothered to put on a shirt. As he neared the doorway, he realized his bride was sitting there quietly, her cheek leaning into her left hand. Her hair was pulled back, a braid adorning her hair. Her back was to him as he walked in.
“Can’t sleep either?” He said once he was close enough. Y/N jumped a little, choking slightly on the milk she was drinking. She cleared her throat once she had swallowed and nodded at him.
“I thought maybe milk would help but,” She shrugged and made a face. Sebastian chuckled and took an identical bottle of milk out of the fridge.
“It might help if it was warm, I think.” He started and flicked on the oven. He placed a pan on the stove, emptying the bottle into it. “I can warm yours up too if you want.” Y/N nodded shyly, getting up and walking to hand him the bottle. They stood there, watching the milk slowly come to a bubble. The awkwardness was almost palpable, each eyeing the other’s movements.
Once the milk had warmed up he poured it into cups, handing one to her. He sat down next to her, much closer than he had ever been. They drank their milk in silence.
Y/N cradled the cup in her hands, watching the last of the milk swirl around at the bottom. Sebastian watched her, examining the dark circles under her eyes. Maybe her head was as full as his was. He wanted to speak, to let her know that he didn’t mean to pull away from her. That he really wanted to open his heart to but couldn’t. He couldn’t let himself. Strands of her hair had fallen out of the loose braid, falling in front of her face. He reached over, tucking it behind her ear. His fingers grazed the side of her face, feeling the smoothness of her cheek. He moved his hand, his thumb on the side of her face, fingers gently wrapping around the back of her neck. He tried to push the guilt away, tried to mute it as he felt her lean into his hand. Her eyes were hooded, the light of the candle slowly starting to fade as they inched closer. He could feel her slow breath as his lips came nearer to hers. He was so close.
With a swift move of his free arm, he knocked over the glass bottle, sending it falling to the tile floor. He jumped away from her, startled by the noise. He quickly rose from his chair, looking around the room for a broom. From the corner of his eye, he watched as Y/N stood from her chair slowly. Her head was down as she picked up the empty cups and put them in the sink. The moment was gone. He shook his head.
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that.” He said, throwing away the pieces of glass. She really didn’t know what he meant. Did he mean he shouldn’t have accidentally knocked over the bottle? Or did he mean he shouldn’t have gotten so close to kissing her?
“It’s fine, it was just a little accident.” She mumbled, still not knowing what he was referring to. He put the broom back in its place and made his way out of the dark kitchen. He looked back at her as she stood silently by the sink. He nodded to her and whispered a small g’night before fading into the darkness and leaving her alone. Her eyes filled with tears as he slipped from her fingers once again.
It was in the late afternoon when she saw him next. She had sat down for a light snack after dinner, looking out the big windows of the dining room. The sun was making its way down the sky but was almost completely hidden behind thickening clouds. The whole day felt gloomy despite the ray of the sun that fought to peek out. Her husband had been quiet during dinner, dismissing himself the second he had eaten the last morsel of food from his plate. He wasn’t that hungry, he said. Where she sat, she watched as he made his way into the gardens.
Sebastian sighed as he sat down on the stone bench on the edge of the gardens. He looked forward, towards the darkening sky. From the library to the party to the warm glasses of milk the night before. His desire to have her close was rising but the guilt inside him kept him away. How could she feel happiness here? Away from her old life, away from the people she loved? He couldn’t help those words from echoing in his head. Even though he had been helping her family, giving them what they needed to eliminate their debts, he felt guilty for marrying her. He had taken her chances of a happy future away.
He turned towards the house as he heard footsteps walking towards him, rustling in the grass. He sucked in a breath as Y/N sat down next to him on the bench. She looked over at him, pressing closer as she leaned on her arm. They sat in silence, enjoying the cool air. It’s going to start raining soon, she thought.
There was something else in the air. There was a looming question, now that I'm here, what do I do now? Y/N could feel herself try to push a question out, anything to make him see her. Even though she was sat down next to him, why couldn’t they speak anymore? Why did he pull away from her whenever he got too close?
“Do you hate me?” She asked. Sebastian blinked. “Of course not.” He replied, confusion dripping from the question.
“Do I embarrass you?” She egged on, thinking back to the one moment in public, on the dance floor. He shook his head.
“Then why do you pull away when we are close?” She said. Frustration began to settle in him. He didn’t want to explain himself. Of course she didn’t embarrass him, but how could he explain to her the riddles that went on in his head? He stood up, shaking his head. He stepped in front of her, wanting to leave.
“No, no,” She cried, pushing herself up from her spot on the bench. “I can’t do this anymore!” She grabbed his hands, tears sparkling in her eyes.
He roughly pulled his hands away, making a move toward the house. The rain had slowly started to fall around them.
“Sebastian stop,” she begged, reaching for his arm again.
“This time you don’t get to walk away.” His eyes stayed focused on the grass below their feet, refusing to meet her eyes. He stayed frozen in place.
“Answer my question, why is it that whenever we get a chance alone, you pull away?” She protested. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to rid them of tears. His mouth felt dry as he tried to speak.
“I c-can’t” Her grip didn’t lessen on his arm. She was waiting. He looked back at her, tears falling from their eyes. Even here, with her eyes tinted red she still looked beautiful.
“I can’t bring myself to give in to the fire that’s burning in me. I can’t look at you and deny that there is love in me for you.” He spilled out. “I can’t help but feel as if I robbed you from any happiness that you could’ve had.” Y/N felt her heart beat louder in her chest.
“Every time I see you smile, I cannot help but feel sorrow grow in my chest because I can only ever imagine making you smile that way.” The pain in Y/N’s seemed to fade, growing into an adoration as he confessed. For weeks they had gone from sneaking longing glances at each other and pining for each other in secret.
“If you let me, I could be the happiest,” She began, bringing his hand to her chest. “I could be the happiest, here, with you.”
“My heart, it beats for you.” They stood there, their eyes locked on the other. And there, under the gloom and the rain, there was a different feeling in the pit of their stomachs. That warm fuzzy, euphoric feeling. Love.
He pressed his lips to her in a flurry of passion. He pulled his hand from her, holding the sides of her face. The walls built around each of them came crumbling down as they found themselves finally letting go. The saltiness of their tears was being slowly washed away by the rain, the pain falling away.
Sebastian pulled away from the kiss, resting his head on Y/N’s forehead. They were breathless, taking in the moment. Y/N leaned into his touch, smiling and pressing her cold nose against his cheek. Even though the storm was tearing around them, there was peace.
Y/N walked behind Sebastian as they made their way out of the rain and into their home. They slowly reached the top of the stairs, freezing upon coming face to face with their individual doors. Neither of them wanted to separate from the other, they stood in silence for a few seconds. Y/N watched as Sebastian looked between her and the door and then back at her.
“Will you need any help with your clothing?” she dared ask. Her voice was just above a whisper and for a second she questioned whether or not he had heard her. He felt his breath stop as he met her eyes.
“I suppose I will.” he said calmly. With that he guided her into his room.
She had only ever glanced into it a handful of times but had never even stepped foot in it. He had beautiful sage green decor with accents of gold. His bed sheets were a deep green and his curtains an even deeper green to keep the light from coming. They were pulled open to reveal the gloom coming from outside. It was similar to the size of her room yet there was a different vibe to it. The lights were lit, providing a soft and alluring vibe to the room. She was in awe of how elegant his room was, contrasting his serious exterior. Sebastian watched her, looking on with adoration.
She was pulled out of her daze as he stepped in front of her. She felt her cheeks warm up as he softly grabbed her hands in his. She peered up at him nervously, through her lashes. She pulled her hands away, bringing them to the buttons of his shirt. He watched as she carefully unbuttoned each one, admiring his tan skin as she got a wider and wider view of his chest.
Sebastian felt his heart flutter as her eyes traveled over the expanse of his pectorals. Her fingers danced over the faint chest hair and then over his shoulders as she fully peeled the sopping shirt from him. She trailed her fingers over his arms, taking one in her hands. She admired the veins that slightly popped up from under the skin as she traced them with the tips of her nails. He let out a shaky sigh as he pulled away from her.
A sense of lust began to grow in the air as he moved behind her. His breath danced on the back of her neck as he began to undo the knots of her dress. He pulled gently at the string, loosening it and taking it from her. She shivered under his touch, relishing in the lingering feeling of his fingertips on her back. She was left in her undergarments, feeling the cold air around her. She felt vulnerable. She had to still a laugh in her throat, what a metaphor for their current situation.
She then felt the rest of the clothes drop to the floor. She was now completely bare, her back fully exposed to Sebastian. She stepped out of the pool of clothes that were at her feet and slowly turned to face him. Reaching up, she gently pulled the pin from her hair. It cascaded down over her shoulders, still damp from the rain. Sebastian held in a gasp. Even though they had been living in the same house for weeks, he had never seen her with her hair down. Not completely. It was always up in a sort of way, but never lingering over her face like this. He kept his eyes up, trying not to look down at the swells of her breasts. He didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable. He felt butterflies flutter in his stomach when her eyes broke away from his and he felt her hands make their way to the buckle of his pants. He took a deep breath in as he felt his member stir within the confines of his undergarments. She pulled his pants and all from his hips and let them join her clothes on the floor below.
They were both bare. Standing in silence, in the cool air of Sebastian’s room.
“Tell me you want to stop and we can.” He whispered. Y/N’s eyes met his, twinkling in the dim light. “I don’t want to.” she said, inching forward.
With that, Sebastian pulled her in. His thumb caressed her bottom lip before placing his full lips over hers. This kiss was unlike the one they had shared in the rain. That one, though filled with passion, had timidness to it. He had been holding back ever so slightly. She felt him push against her until she felt something hit the back of her knees and she fell onto the bed.
It was then when she felt self conscious. She was frozen on the bed with her hair sprawled out underneath her like a halo. Sebastian towered over her, looking at her with an almost innocent tint in his eyes. On instinct, her hands went to cover her breast and her legs bent, hiding her womanhood. He shook his head, pulling her hand away gently.
“Please don’t hide from me. You're so beautiful.”
He leaned over, pressing a single kiss on her throat. He looked up at her, as if to ask for permission to continue. Y/N nodded before he leaned over her again. He pressed his hands on the mattress, holding himself up as he trailed his lips down the valley between her breasts. She could feel her heartbeat start picking up and soon she was feeling it between her legs. She felt herself grow wetter as he suckled on her nipple, tweaking the other one with his fingers. Her chest heaved as she felt his fingers travel just below her navel. He pressed his finger there before moving his mouth down her torso. She let out a low moan, tingles erupting in the depths of her stomach. She felt her legs shake nervously as his mouth inched lower.
She uttered a sharp gasp as he suctioned his lips on her clit, circling it with his tongue. He worked his fingers in her, pushing them knuckle deep. Y/N subconsciously bucked her hips, wanting to soothe the red hot burning that was building up inside her. Her hands fisted the bedsheet until her knuckles were white. She reached her climax with a pop as Sebastian rode it out, hand still moving gently against her. He climbed on top of her as she pulled his lips towards hers, not caring that she could taste herself on his tongue. He placed a hand under each of her knees, slotting himself between them. His arms were pressed into the mattress on either side of her head.
“Slowly.” He said as he lined himself with her entrance.
He groaned as he bottomed out. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, feeling a sting between her legs. Y/N squirmed under him, trying her best to breathe steadily. Her fingers gripped tightly onto the tender skin of his back. A high pitched moan came from her lips as he reached between them to press his fingers against her little bundle of nerves.
“Seb —”
He nudged her hands from his back and interlaced their fingers, pinning her hands above her head. She rolled her head into his mouth panting. His jaw went slack, his lips just hovering over hers.
Y/N felt her eyes roll to the back of her head as Sebastian pulled one of her knees up to her chest, hitting a different angle inside of her. A heat began to spread through her body. Her words got stuck behind her throat as she felt herself come undone under him. A moan fell from her lips as she came once again.
At the feeling of her walls fluttering around him, Sebastian felt a coil inside him break as he came inside her walls. His head fell to her shoulder as they both rode down from their highs. Y/N let out a breath as he let his full body fall on her. It was comforting despite feeling slightly crushed under him. It felt nice. She pressed her lips to his shoulder, smiling as she felt him kiss her neck lovingly. A smile graced her lips as he rolled off her, wrapping her in his arms from behind. They laid there, letting sleep fall over them. Tomorrow would be different, a good kind different. It was only up from here.

HOT TOMALES! I just got a great idea for a request! Bakugo, Fatgum, Sero, and Hawks hcs of them with a black!fem!s/o but she has a Galaxy quirk. It gives her purple blue eyes with stars and constellation pupils that changes when she blinks, she blushes stardust and mini stars, has sparkly tears, and her quirk allows her to use black holes, comet like projectiles, and she can make mini stars and planets appear from her energy along with spreading stars and constellation like freckles all over her body. (I saw these gorgeous art designs and I couldn’t help myself. I do not own the art, they are just inspiration to me for this request 😭✨)
“She’s Out of This World” - Headcannons
Pairings: bakugou, fatgum, sero, and hawks x black!fem! reader Pronouns: she/her Warnings: none...besides a few curse words (cough...bakugou...cough)
Thanks for another great request <3
He definitely was NOT looking forward to the new foreign student joining the class when Aizawa first announced it
But then you stepped through the oversized doorway and he very obviously did a double take
Bakubitch was seeing stars...literally...you were flustered and blushing stardust
Bakugou thought that you were hot and your quirk was cool...though he would NOT admit it
He was definitely overly aggressive towards you when you met each other because bby boi didn’t know how to express his feelings
Hi crush grew when he saw you wouldn’t take his shit and you talked back...(he thought that was hot as fuck)
“Hey (y/n)-chan?” Midoriya asked from his seat, his half burnt journal out as he held a pen in his hand. His green eyes were wide as he looked you over before scribbling things down
Bakugou wasn’t saying anything and was pretending to be on his phone but he would look up every so often to see if you found Deku as annoying as he did
He was kinda bummed when he saw you didn’t
“What’s up Midoriya?” You asked back as Midoriya looked back up at you, loosing his train of thought when he saw the constellations in your eyes change and shooting stars in the purple-blue orbs when you blinked or got excited.
“C-can you make stars and planets and stuff?” He asked after a pause. This caught the explosive blonde’s attention as he watched you smile and nod.
“Yeah...do you want me to do it now?” Everyone nodded in response to your question, their eyes now focusing on you.
A mini galaxy began to appear above your hands, a small smile on your face as you looked at everyone’s excited and impressed faces.
“Woah! You’re really hot!” Mineta said, catching you off guard as your eyes widened and you cheeks became covered in stardust, a shooting star appearing above your head.
“T-thanks.” You grew even more flustered as some of the other boys agreed
Bakugou glared daggers at Mineta for breathing near you, so the fact that he talked to you was pissing him off even more
Mineta’s ass got BEAT after school and the next day Mineta wouldn’t even look at you
You caught the satisfied smirk on Bakugou’s face that he tried to hide when he saw Mineta practically piss his pants
“You know you could just talk to me...” You said from your seat behind Bakugou with a small laugh as Bakugou tried to hide his quickly reddening cheeks
He LOVES to talk about you and show you off, even if not a lot of people get to see you together because y’all are pro-heros
Will definitely talk everyone’s ears off when given the chance about how cool your galaxy quirk is and how strong and powerful you are to the point where some of his friends are convinced you aren’t real because they haven’t seen you together
No one questions him anymore after you joined him and his two interns on patrol when they spotted you after you had just finished your own patrol
“Excuse me.” You looked down when you felt a small tug at your belt, seeing a little girl with pigtails and warm brown eyes.
“Hi sweetheart.” You smiled widely at the girl as you kneeled to her level, noticing the doll of you in her arms and the small stars that were drawn on her cheeks.
“I wanna be just like you when I grow up! I already told my mommy!” The little girl told you excitedly as a woman who looks like the older version of the little girl in front of you smiles at you with a hand on the girl’s shoulder.
“I think you’ll make a great hero one day.” You told her as her eyes seemed to shine in adoration. Her little hand touched the stars on your cheek as she mumbled about how pretty it was.
“Thank you.” You laughed lightly as the little girl blushed.
“I can make sunlight!” She explained after a moment, excitedly showing you her hands that formed the little ball of light.
“Watch this.” You smiled, putting your hands around hers as you made tiny planets and a mini galaxy around her little ball of light that looked like a sun.
“Woah!” The little girl excitedly jumped up and down before hugging you as her mother thanked you before the pair walked off. You stood turning when you felt eyes on you.
It was your boyfriend, Toyomitsu and his two interns who had been watching the little exchange with small smiles.
“Are these your interns!” You asked him excitedly as you pulled at his large hand, eyeing the two teenagers.
“Mmhmm.” He nodded proudly. “Isn’t she out of this world?” He asked to the boys with a laugh.
You rolled your eyes at his corny joke, but let out a small laugh.
“Do you want to join us?”
“Of course! Toyomitsu literally doesn’t stop talking about you two! It’s great to finally meet you.”
“Really? He hasn’t stopped talking about you either.” Kirishima said as your starry purple and blue eyes looked from the redhead to your boyfriend with a raised eyebrow. He just smiled at you, a soft pink covering his cheeks as he shrugged.
Flex tape is super into you from the moment he saw you, but he was too nervous to say anything to you in the beginning
He was convinced you would go for someone like him (which is stupid bc he’s so cute)...he was obviously wrong
Both you and Sero’s quirks have pretty practical applications, especially when you generated small suns and moons as light sources
The first time you generated a black hole kinda scared him tho...even if it was a small one
Once you convinced him that you had complete control over the black hole, he wasn’t so nervous about it anymore.
Definitely takes advantage of the black hole creation ability of your quirk now too
“Hey (y/n) can you come over?” Your boyfriend called you. This made you nervous because you thought something bad could’ve happened...like that one time Sero had accidentally gotten his tape stuck in a fan while it was accidentally stuck in his hair
“What happened? Did you start a fire? Was Denki involved? Is there another fan, because I can go get my scissors again!” You said quickly as you stood at his door in the dorms.
You had rushed there so it had only taken you a moment to get there after he had hung up.
“Nope...no fire, Kaminari wasn’t involved, and there isn’t another fan incident...but I kinda broke the vacuum cleaner and there’s glitter all over my room.”
“Why is there glitter everywhere?” You looked from the mess all on the floor to your boyfriend who smiled sheepishly at you.
“Well, Kaminari thought it would be fun to do a prank...and the test kinda backfired...”
“I thought you said Kaminari wasn’t involved?”
“Uh-” He stopped when you held your hand up with a sigh.
“What am I supposed to do about this Hanta?”
“I was thinking that maybe you could use a black hole...since it’s kinda like a vacuum?”
“Fine.” You sighed after a pause in conversation, nodding once before you made a small black hole appear in your hand. Pointing it towards the floor you sucked up all of the glitter before making the black hole disappear again.
“I knew it would be faster than a vacuum!” Sero told you as he hugged and thanked you.
“Don’t be so messy next time...and maybe stay away from the glitter.” You laughed.
Keigo was kind of caught off guard when he first saw you.
He originally thought your quirk had just changed your appearance and that it was only creating stars, well until one day...
You see, the pair of you had moved in together and had also gotten a dog because why the hell not?
Anyways Keigo was supposed to be getting home any moment from patrol and since you had been off that day, you stayed home with your dog
“Did you have to ruin your toys so quickly? We just brought you this ball.” You complained to the small rambunctious animal who simple stared up at you with big brown eyes and a wag of its tail.
“Alright, let’s try this then.” You said after thinking for a moment. You created a small planet before throwing it down the hall. If your dog broke it, you could simply make a new one and it wouldn’t be a waste of money.
The dog happily chased after it before appearing a moment later with the small blue planet in its mouth. It put the sphere down at your feet, looking up at you and waiting for you to throw it again.
The door opened as you threw it down the hall again, Keigo walking into the house after just getting off.
He set his goggles on the table by the door along with his special headphones, taking his gloves and jacket off at the door.
“I’m home, Birdie.” He called out as your dog ran towards him and dropped the strange new ball that he didn’t remember getting at his feet.
“I’m in here.”
“Weird.” The pro-hero mumbled before tossing the ball again and walking towards where your voice had come from.
“How was patrol?” You asked as your dog appeared again, the broken planet in front of him on the ground at your feet.
“It was fine...nothing major.” He answered simply, watching as you sighed giving a look to your dog before putting your hands together and making another small sphere, this time a purple color.
“Try not to break it so quickly this time.” You told the dog before tossing it.
“What was that?” He questioned as you looked at him confused. “When you put your hands together?” He clarified.
“Oh...did I forget to tell you? He broke his new ball, so I created a planet for him. I just figured it would be easier than buying him another toy that he’ll just end up destroying.” You shrugged.
“You can make planets?”
“Among other things.” You laughed softly at the surprised face he made. “I thought I told you.”
“No...but that’s cool as hell! What else can you do?” He asked, his eyes not leaving yours as he laid his head in your lap as you both sat on the couch with you explaining your quirk in depth.

Snakes in the Garden (Porco)
Summary: Unnamed female character is a spy sent to Marley by the Scouts. Her mission is to extract information from the Jaw Titan. Rated: M (Suggestive themes but nothing explicit)
Long Post under cut.
Nestled away in a quiet business district with the lights turned low and the music a soft hum in the night, she almost believed she had entered the wrong place before she had a chance to look around. The bar was not the kind of establishment she was used to back in Paradis. Unlike the bars back in her island with their loud music and slurring strangers, the Eldian bar in Marley was quiet.
A low song was playing from a live band and the people inside were each speaking quietly to their neighbor. A lifetime of secrecy in a country that despised the blood in their veins had taught each Eldian to be as meek as a dormouse. The Eldians at the bar were painfully aware of the guards stationed nearby and desperately sought to fly under the radar to escape notice.
Her frame lingered by the bar a second longer as her eyes scanned every which way.
This late in the evening, with the moon peeking behind the clouds, there were very few souls around. Most Eldians had retreated inside their homes by now leaving the bar mostly empty. Asides from a few stragglers still trying to squeeze out some last few moments from the night, the place was quiet.
Sliding into a stool at the bar, she bit the inside of her cheek.
Zeke had told her he would be here. According to the Eldian defector, Porco Galliard frequented the place more often than not. Zeke was convinced she would find him here nursing a pint of something at the bar with his head down and his walls firmly up.
Thus far, she couldn’t find him anywhere. She had memorized his photograph before leaving Paradis, had studied him and the other Warriors fervently before making the long voyage, but had, had little luck finding any of them.
The Mid-East War had just ended and most soldiers had returned. Zeke had told her Galliard had returned along with the other Warriors, but she had, had no luck finding him. He hadn’t dropped by his family home yet and his favorite haunts were devoid of his presence.
This bar was the last place she could think of scoping out before giving up. Hopefully he’d show up here and end her one way game of cat and mouse.
Motioning for a bartender, she drummed her nails against the wooden countertop. Being this exposed in Marley made her nervous. The hairs at the back of her neck were almost standing up as she bristled with every stare.
Since she had come to Marley on a spying mission from Paradis, she had been utterly careful on who she talked to and where she went. She never lingered in one area of Liberio for too long and was always sure to keep her head down whenever the Marleyan soldiers walked past.
Being at a bar in plain view and not tucked away in some alleyway was a change she wasn’t sure she liked.
Still, she was growing desperate.
Her orders back in Paradis had been very clear. She was to find the Warriors and approach them. The intel they offered could be valuable and a chance to learn more about their abilities could easily sway things in Paradis’ favor.
The bartender startled her out of her reverie when he appeared and asked for her order. She had no idea what names they used for alcohol here and hesitated as she tried to think of something.
Thankfully, she was spared a chance to answer.
A lone figure slid into the stool next to her and asked for a cocktail she had never heard of in a bored tone. The bartender accepted his order, and she asked for the same in response.
As he left to prepare their drinks, she eyed the stranger next to her.
The young man was tall with blonde hair and an aloof expression on his face. He slumped against his chair as if tired and yawned into his hand. When he moved his arm, she caught sight of a red armband against his black jacket.
Her breath hitched just slightly and she was glad he was facing away from her and paid her little mind.
She had studied each Warrior’s photograph and knew exactly who he was. Porco Galliard. Her target.
Well, I’ll be damned.
She quietly took stock of him as he waited for his drink. He had yet to notice her presence and was preoccupied with picking a piece of lint off his pants. He seemed to have no weapons on him and made no indication of being with a partner or friend for the night. That was good. If he was alone, she would only have to worry about chatting him up and not an acquaintance.
When the bartender returned with their drinks, she saw her opening.
Reaching for hers, she let her hand move just slightly. ‘Accidentally’ knocking into his glass, she jerked her hand to the side and sent it tumbling off the bar counter. His drink splashed all over his pants and sent ice cubes rolling down onto the floor.
He jerked up with a curse, and she jumped up too with napkins in hand.
“Oh! I’m so sorry!” She offered him a napkin and widened her eyes just slightly to seem nervous.
“-uck, that’s cold!” He tore the napkins out of her grip and scrubbed them against the front of his pants. Whatever drink had been in the glass had stained the white fabric, and the napkin only made things worse.
Irritated, he jerked his head towards her and she was met with his cold gaze.
“Nice going!” He growled out the words and bit back whatever other insult was forming on his mouth when he saw her shrink back.
She bowed her head and made sure to let him see how her hands shook when she extended another napkin his way.
“I’m so, so sorry sir! I didn’t mean to,” she offered another apology.
Sending a pointed look at his red armband, she made herself shrink in. Stepping into the role of her character, she led the charade fall into place all around her.
In this moment, she was a quiet Eldian girl who was terrified of being reprimanded. Having just spilled her drink on the lap of an Honorary Marleyan, she could only imagine the fall out. Her eyes were wide with fright and her hands shook as more apologies spilled out of her lips.
When his eyes softened at the display, she hid her smirk. It seemed the acting classes she had taken as a child in Paradis had served a purpose after all.
He accepted her apology and waved her away when she offered to give him her drink.
“Ok, I get it. It was an accident,” he sat back down and threw the used napkins away in a nearby bin, “Did you get any on you?”
His voice was still rough when he spoke to her, but her earlier display had gotten through to him. His eyes were no longer cold and she could tell she was chipping away at his walls. If she played her cards right, she could knock them right down the way the Colossal had knocked down Wall Maria in her childhood.
“I’m fine,” she offered him her drink again, “Here. An amend. I really didn’t mean to.”
Setting the glass in front of him, she didn’t give him a chance to reject her again.
Galliard opened his mouth to disagree then shrugged and accepted the piece offering.
“I haven’t seen you before,” he eyed, “Is this your first time here?”
She bit her lip the way she had seen other girls do when they were timid.
“It is, I usually don’t drink.”
He drained his glass in one gulp and motioned for the bartender to give him a refill. Without asking, he also purchased a new glass for her. She accepted him with a thank you.
“What made you come here of all places? This isn’t exactly a place where I would expect someone like you,” Porco asked. He motioned towards the bar to highlight his point.
By now, the live band had stopped playing and started packing their instruments. The last few stragglers were older men with white armbands on their coats looking for some last few moments of peace before returning home to their families.
Zeke had mentioned this bar was mainly for soldiers and men who needed a quiet place to wind down after a long deployment. It really wasn’t the kind of place a young girl like her would frequent.
“I wanted to try this place out. My dad spent a lot of time here before he-”
She cut herself off then and bit her lip again. The silence grew as she hesitated and he seemed to understand the hidden meaning. Her fingers tightened on her glass.
“The Mid-East War?” He eyed her out of the corner of his eye.
She nodded. “Yeah, we got the letter last month.”
His jaw tightened and he set his second empty glass down on the counter top. “Shit. Sorry.”
A gruff sympathy but still a sympathy. She looked away to hide the satisfaction burning in her eyes.
In preparation for the voyage, Zeke and Yelena had offered plenty about Marley and the Warriors. They had each taken the time to teach her about how to act and what to say to cruise under the radar.
It was Zeke who had stressed how to behave with the Warriors to her. He had spoken about each person at length and given her firm instructions as to how to proceed. She could almost hear his voice inside her head now repeating one of his many lessons.
“Galliard is a tough one, but he’s not impossible. He’s prickly like a cactus-huh, guess you don’t know what that is but whatever-it just means he has a harsh exterior. He’s going to be closed off when you meet and will probably not let you in easily if you just approach him. He’s naturally selective with who he surrounds himself with and suspicion comes to him second nature. If you flirt with him or try to get too close right off the bat, he’ll back off from you and assume you’re just another Eldian desperate to marry into Marleyan citizenship. Instead, you have to use his weaknesses against him. He’s still mourning the loss of Marcel. The wound is fresh, and he’ll be more likely to sympathize with someone who he thinks lost family to war too...”
So far, it seemed he had been right.
She let her shoulders droop and thought about her own father. Her real father was buried somewhere under the rubble of Shinganshina. He had died years ago when the Colossal had knocked down the wall and led all the Titans in. She had seen him and her mother get swallowed before running away.
Sorrow filled her and she clenched her teeth together. Beneath the pain there was anger. She let the rage steel her in her mission and reminded herself of why she was doing this.
Marley had destroyed her home and killed her family. She promised she would do the same to it. If Porco was her way to fight back, then she would play him like a song and wield him like a knife.
“Did you return from your deployment?”
She allowed herself to ask him a question. He had been swirling the last few drops of his liquor around in his glass and the ice made a melody as it thumped against the sides.
He shrugged and leaned back in his chair. “Came back some time ago. I was stationed in Fort Slava.”
She let some surprise register on her face although she had known that already. She knew a lot of things about him.
“Then you helped in the victory. I should be the one buying you drinks,” she offered him a soft smile.
Under the dim light, she thought she saw the faintest hint of color on his cheeks.
Unsure if it was her or the alcohol, she slid her second untouched glass his way. When he raised an eyebrow, she offered him a light smile.
“I’m not one for alcohol. Take it.”
He accepted the glass and took a long sip. She hoped the alcohol would make him buzzed. Maybe some liquid courage would help her loosen his lips.
The Jaw Titan had to have some intel she could gather. Compared to the others, his rank was lower since he was still brand new in inheriting his abilities, but he could be useful. Maybe she could use him as an in. Growing close to him might just let her have access to the Cart Titan and the others.
“You’re not going to ask?” His eyes met hers over the rim of his glass.
“Ask?” She tilted her head to the side inquisitively. Yelena had told her the action made her seem more innocent and less deceitful.
It worked. Some of the remaining tension in his shoulders receded and he wiped at his mouth with his sleeve.
“About the battle. All everyone wants to ask about is how the battle played out and what happened. I’m like a personal history book to these people.”
His tone was dry and he glared at the far wall. She stared at her hands.
”Galliard is bitter about Marley and the war efforts. He’s not obedient like other soldiers and will complain and bad mouth the efforts when he thinks no one will hear him. Don’t let that shock you. Just let him vent and make yourself a sympathetic ear, but don’t add anything to the fire. He’s likely to grow even more suspicious if he finds an ally in you so quickly.”
Zeke’s counsel replayed in her mind and she let the silence linger just a second longer than necessary. Feigning a wince, she tapped her knuckles nervously against the counter.
“To be honest, I’m sick of hearing about the war. All of the soldiers that fought with my dad keep writing about the battles he fought in and how brave he was. I could do with a different topic.”
He glanced at her and some of the ire melted away out of his gaze. He grunted under his breath something that sounded like a “good” and shook his head.
“I just realized I never got your name,” he eyed her.
The fake name Yelena had come up for her spilled past her lips easily. It was a common Eldian name that wasn’t likely to raise any suspicions. He accepted it without much thought.
“Porco,” he mumbled in turn.
The last few customers at the bar made their way out the door. She glanced out the window and realized it was almost pitch black. One glance at the bartender, and she realized he was just waiting on them to close up.
“I should probably get going, I start my job tomorrow.”
Porco stood up too and threw some Marleyan bills at the counter. She noticed he had paid for her too.
“You don’t have to-”
“I drank them, you didn’t touch them,” he shoved his hands into his pockets and waited.
She realized he was waiting for her to lead the way, and she finished buttoning up her coat.
“I’ll walk you home, yeah? Liberio isn’t exactly safe for a girl all alone at night,” He didn’t wait for her this time and left out the door in front of her.
She was glad his back was turned. It meant he missed the small smirk that played on her lips.
- - -
Despite the alcohol he had consumed, his steps were measured and easy. She apologized to him for being such a bother and making him walk so far.
He shrugged his shoulders and cut her off.
“I’m headed this way anyway,” he looked away.
He was definitely not headed that way. His family home was a good fifteen minute walk from where they were, but she didn’t say anything. Perhaps it was the liquor on his breath, but the tips of his ears had reddened just slightly.
Some confidence filled her and she ‘accidentally’ bumped their hands together. Withdrawing them with an apology, she caught the way his breath hitched.
Yelena had told her she was beautiful, and that she could use that to suit her mission. Galliard was a man same like any other. He had his weaknesses and a pretty face would help her.
The streets were dark which made her next move easy.
Pretending to trip on an uneven piece of the sidewalk, she let herself collide with his back. He managed to catch her before she could fall face first and his arm wrapped around her waist in surprise. She felt more than saw the way his face burned at the realization that she was now in his grasp.
Feigning embarrassment, she pressed her hand to her mouth and widened her eyes. “I’m so sorry! First I spill my drink and then I almost knock you over!”
She looked away and made her eyes water on command the way she had been taught in acting classes all those years ago. It was her experience that men tended to melt when they saw a woman prepared to cry. Some tears and a quiet sniffle got them to lower their guard down every time.
Porco was no different.
He shook his head and looked away. “It’s okay, you’re fine. Did you hurt your ankle?”
He seemed concerned as he traced his hand down her leg. It was an excuse to touch her, and she was grateful he hadn’t seen the way her eyes lit up in success.
She had him. Hook, line, and sinker.
Still, she couldn’t rush her hand. Zeke had warned her about seeming too eager to get close to the Warriors. They were a close, private bunch and wouldn’t let an outsider in too easily. She had to play her cards close to the chest.
She thanked him for his concern and placed her hand over his. His skin was hot to the touch and his arm tensed in surprise at the contact. He wasn’t used to being touched, yet he didn’t move his arm.
“My house is over there,” she pointed to a random neighborhood, “You can just leave me here. I don’t want you to have to walk all this way.”
He seemed like he didn’t want to leave, and she was smug. She really did have him in her web. Just a little more and he would fall in head first.
“Are you sure?”
He seemed like he wanted her to ask him to stay. Perhaps he was hoping to score her for the night. Maybe he had some pent up stress and figured a pretty girl was a nice way to relax.
But that wasn’t her mission. Her mission was much deeper than just a quick night.
She released his hand and moved away from him letting some formality fall between them. Her smile was polite as she shook her head and waved him off.
“I’ll be fine. Don’t worry,” she turned away.
She feigned taking a step away from him before stopping. Moving fast, she leaned forward and pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek. It was a coy move she had learned worked well on men. It was innocent enough to be dismissed as a platitude, but the way her lips lingered on his skin just slightly could be easily interpreted as interest.
He made a sound at the back of his throat and burned bright red. She moved her head away and offered him a quiet thank you for walking all this way.
As she turned away from him, he called her name.
“Wait. Can I see you again?”
He sounded awestruck and she was glad she had managed to trick him into drinking all that alcohol. His walls had lowered enough for her to sneak her way in like a Trojan Horse.
Lowering her head in a meek and shy way, she gave a polite smile. “Maybe.”
Then, purposefully leaving him wanting, she walked away.
- - -
After that first introduction, it was easy to continue playing him. Working her magic, she played him like an instrument.
The next day after that she arrived at the hospital to check on the returning soldiers. Zeke had forged some paperwork and gotten her a job as a civilian nurse. She assumed it was easy for him to do so since his grandfather had once been a doctor.
She had arrived to her first shift the next day-
Coincidentally when the Warriors were due for their checkup. Porco had frozen in shock at the door when he had walked in and seen her. He had hesitated and asked her what she was doing before she had feigned her own surprise and told her she was a nurse.
The entire time she worked alongside the doctor performing his physical, she had been aware of the looks he threw her. It seemed her little kiss last night was still on his mind. His cheeks were almost a permanent red, and the doctor had to ask him if he had a fever which only made them further redden.
After the check up, he had followed her out into the hallway and asked her to wait for him. He had struck up a conversation and a persona had slipped into place. Now he seemed much more confident than before, and he boldly asked her to get a coffee with him.
She turned him down.
The look on his face was priceless when she expressed her regret that it was unprofessional. After all, she was a nurse and he was a patient. She could get in trouble and lose the job she had just started.
Her rejection was a clever ploy. Just as Yelena had said, some men liked the challenge. He was one of them.
After her rejection, he further fell in to her trap. He continued to seek her out and ask her again and again. He always found some excuse to go to the hospital. He would walk in for the smallest of accidents, a cut he sustained during training or an ankle he swore was swollen despite being able to walk just fine. The doctors and other nurses seemed exasperated when they reminded him that he was a Titan and could heal on his own, but she always made sure to show up for every one of his visits rewarding his efforts.
Finally, when she was confident she had made him wait enough, she accepted his offer.
“One coffee, just one, and you don’t tell my boss, yeah?” She tried to hide her embarrassed smile behind her medical charts.
Triumphant he grinned. “Sure, just one.”
- - -
It wasn’t just one. They both knew it although each of them had their own reasons for thinking there would be more than one date.
One coffee turned into two which then gave way to three until they made it a regular habit to meet at the coffee shop after her shift. She was a pleasant person on their dates and they clicked well. Pretty soon, he was falling fast and she could tell.
It was like magic the way they clicked. They had the same tastes, the same hobbies, the same feeling about the war and Marley. They fit together like a puzzle and clicked so well that she could tell he was falling hard with every date.
Of course, none of it was luck. She knew him like the back of her hand. Zeke had made sure that she knew everything there was to know about him before she had left Paradis. She had studied him as if he were material for a major exam and had memorized everything.
She was his dream girl thanks to repeated efforts to mold herself to his tastes.
Finally, after maybe a month of dates, he bit the bullet. Blushing and showing up to one date with a bouquet of flowers she was certain Pieck had chosen for him, he asked her to be his girlfriend.
Making her eyes water on command, she had thrown her arms around his neck in reply and that was that.
- - -
Once she had managed to reel him in, she scored big.
Having a Warrior at her side was just the thing she needed to collect intel on Marley. Porco trusted her implicitly and thought nothing about telling her about his job. He made offhanded comments about some of the things he did for the military and thought nothing of the questions she asked. In his mind, she was just his loving girlfriend eager to learn more about his day.
She catalogued everything he said and kept a journal of information tucked underneath her bed. When he would leave after a long day together, she’d scribble down new secrets gained and walk towards the rendezvous location.
There, she would bump into a mysterious man on accident and slip the piece of paper from the notebook into his jacket as she apologized. The man, Jean, would pretend not to recognize her as he accepted the intel and would move aside.
Then, she would go about her day as if nothing had happened and be back at her home when Porco had returned from a long day of military training.
Exhausted, he would spill more secrets into her ear and ignore the way she always seemed a little too eager for him to share. Confident in his trust of her, his guard was down and he never put two and two together.
It was a shame really, his trust would only prove his undoing.
- - -
She hit the major jackpot when he forgot his lunch for the day. He had spent the night over and had woken up late. Forgetting to grab something to take with him, he had dashed out the door and left for his military training before she could remind him.
She had waited for him to return for something yet was relieved when she realized he hadn’t remembered. That gave her the perfect opening.
Preparing his favorite dish, the one Yelena had made Niccolo teach her over and over again back in Paradis to make sure she got the flavor just right, she had made her way to the military headquarters.
As a nurse, none of the stationed soldiers gave her a second glance as she walked inside the compound. When she asked to enter the wing where the Warriors trained, the men seemed more hesitant however. Still, a soft smile and some batted eyelashes worked their charm.
It is the weakness of men to consider women weak. They underestimated her ability and let her in easily. Her charm had managed to lower their guards.
They pointed her towards the area where the Warriors trained and let her freely walk there.
Zeke met her at the door. Sweat covered his brow as he panted from the workout he had just finished. He walked right past her as if he didn’t knew her and she pretended not to know him too.
To an outsider, it would have looked just like two complete strangers walking past each other to different destinations. A coincidental meet with nothing out of the ordinary.
However, the outsider would have missed the way Zeke’s hand had pointed to the left behind his back. Without glancing back, he had indicated where she could find Porco to help her in her quest.
She followed his directions down a corridor to the left and was rewarded with Porco.
His back to her, he was talking to some kids with yellow armbands. Warrior candidates.
She recognized them from the files she had memorized in Paradis.
Colt and Falco Grice.
At the sight of her, the eldest, Colt, frowned. “Nurse?”
He tilted his head wondering who had gotten injured and Porco turned. Surprise registered in his gaze for half a second before he extended a hand towards her. Affection replaced the shock and he nodded at her.
“What are you doing here?” He took the offered lunch from her hands, and she saw that he looked like he had been sweating. His face was flushed and he was wearing what looked like a combat uniform. It seemed like they had just wrapped up practice because the two candidates behind him were just as tired.
“You forgot your lunch, so I figured I’d bring you one,” she looked past Porco to the two boys still staring dumbfounded, “There’s plenty for you too, guys. I know how hard you all are working.”
The eldest one stumbled out a thank you as his cheeks flush. His younger brother thanked her with a charming smile.
Porco opened the bag and saw his favorite. His eyes lit up, but he cleared the emotion from his expression when he realized he was still in public. He handed the two boys their share of what was in a clear container then motioned for her to follow him alone down another corridor.
The room he led her to seemed like a break room. There were water bottles set up for the candidates and some tables. He plopped down and motioned for her to join him.
“How’d you know this was my favorite?” He popped a piece of the food in his mouth.
She smiled.
“Lucky guess.”
She was grateful Yelena had made her repeat the recipe until she could do it with her eyes closed. It seemed she had nailed the taste and Porco’s guard had fallen. He’d been letting her in more and more. If she had to guess, he’d become putty in her hands.
“You look tired,” she brushed some of his hair that had gotten stuck to his forehead, “No rest for the wicked? I thought they’d let you all take a break after the war.”
He hummed irritated.
“Nope. The candidates are back to competing. Colt, the oldest kid back there, has his spot set for the Beast Titan, but the other Titans are up in the air. I think Gabi Braun might become the Armored if she keeps it up.”
Gabi Braun.
She let the name flit around her head until she attached information to it. Zeke had mentioned that Reiner might be passing on his titan to his cousin.
Her lips pressed together. She was never close with Reiner back when he and the others were in Paradis. She was friends with Jean and Sasha, but the rest of their friends never truly became hers. That’s why Zeke had selected her for the mission. She was someone the others trusted, but not someone that would be recognized by Reiner the moment he laid eyes on her.
Still, none of this is the information she needed. She tried to think of another way to ask Porco for more intel. There had to be something he knew that Zeke didn’t. Something that can give some insight into what Marley had planned-
The door opened behind them. For a moment, she stilled panicked that it’s Reiner. Her hair color has been changed and cut and her eyes are a different color through the help of contact lenses, but she wasn’t sure the disguise would hold up. He might just recognize her at a glance-
“Pieck?” Porco raised an eyebrow at the new person.
A young woman supporting herself on a crutch hobbled inside the room. She offered Porco a smile of greeting then her eyes settled on her.
Pieck Finger, she realized. She knew a lot about her too. Zeke’s words replayed in her mind.
“Pieck Finger. She’s the current holder of the Cart Titan. Be careful with her. She seems friendly and polite when you meet her, but she’s clever and quick on her feet. She’ll smile at you in greeting all while suspecting you. Don’t be too over excited to be her friend. Just let her naturally come to trust you.”
Pieck’s eyes lit up and the smile that graced her face is rehearsed. Even as the girl grinned and joined them, she could sense that she was being picked apart. Clever as she was, Pieck had already started suspecting her.
“Is this the girl you’ve been going on about?” Pieck called her name and extended her hand.
She introduced herself and gave Pieck a polite smile. She hoped she seemed shy and awestruck. After all, it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for a regular Eldian to be nervous when meeting a Warrior.
Porco ate the last of the food and introduced the two of them. He explained a little bit about how they met and Pieck paid rapt attention. A little too much attention.
She tried not to appear nervous as she felt her gaze. Hopefully she would be able to throw Pieck off her trail. Zeke had offered to help out if she gave the word.
“It’s nice to meet you,” she offered Pieck a warm smile.
Pieck returned it and leaned against her crutch. She seemed exhausted, more so than the others, and she recalled what Zeke and Yelena had informed her. Pieck’s titan moved on four feet. Because she was so used to spending months on end in titan form, returning to walking on two feet was always taxing.
Remembering that her cover was a nurse, she stood. “Are you in pain? I can get some ice.”
Pieck waved her away and eased herself into a chair. Her leg stretched out and she rubbed at her knee. “Getting used to walking on two legs, that’s all. If I had it my way, I’d just crawl everywhere.”
“She would,” Porco scoffed, “She scared the shit out of me the other day. I caught her crawling across the floor. For a second I thought she was an overgrown bug.”
“Ha, ha.”
Pieck turned away from Porco with a roll of her eyes and trained her gaze on her. The little spark of suspicion was there again. Zeke wasn’t kidding when he had said she was clever.
“I didn’t know you were a nurse. You look a little young to have completed the training already.”
The question was innocent and her voice casual. Still, she noted the inquiring tone there.
Porco isn’t someone who let others in easily. If he had suddenly brought in a girl into his life and let her in to the military headquarters, it’d be bound to raise some eyebrows. Pieck seemed suspicious although she wasn’t sure if it was because the girl was naturally slow to trust or if maybe her cover had already been found out.
“My mother was a nurse,” she answered finally, “She taught me some things. I managed to pass my certification with her help a year ago.”
“Was?” Pieck tilted her head and her gaze was now sympathetic.
She’d read Pieck’s file. Pieck had a sick father who she was supporting through the Warrior program. She was partial to those who knew what that was like to lose a parent.
She lowered her gaze to the table and feigned some sadness. “Was. She passed last year. An illness. The doctors refused to treat an Eldian.”
Quiet.
Porco bit his lip and anger burned in his gaze. Pieck had been reminded of her own father and the suspicion that had previously lurked disappeared replaced by empathy.
“I’m so sorry. I know what that feels like,” she closed her eyes, “My dad is ill too. I became a Warrior to help him.”
She nodded her head and pretended to brush away a tear. There came more quiet where no one knew what to say.
Suddenly, from outside, they heard two voices. The first she recognized as Zeke. The next made her tense.
That voice. It had been years, but she could recognize it anywhere. Reiner.
Nervousness clawed at the pit of her stomach. Her disguise was good, but it woud not have held up on closer examination. Reiner may not have been all that close with her all those years ago, but he would have been able to recognize her.
Porco glanced at the clock and groaned. “Looks like we have to get back to training. Do you want me to walk you back to the hospital?”
She shook her head just as Pieck stood up. “No, it’s fine.”
The voices grew closer. She could imagine Zeke trying to lead Reiner away, surely Colt and Falco had told them that the three of them were in there. However, she wasn’t sure she’d be out in time.
An idea sparked in her and she turned to Pieck.
“Sorry, Pieck, is there a bathroom nearby?”
Pieck glanced at her. “Sure, I’ll take you.”
She waved goodbye to Porco and followed Pieck as she limped down the hallway. They passed by a smaller set of rooms where she could see the back of Reiner’s head.
A sigh of relief left her when she realized she hadn’t been spotted by them. Pieck nodded to a door at the end of the corridor and offered her a friendly smile.
“There you go.”
She waved her hand and went back to where the other Warriors were. That time, her movements had been genuine. Whatever suspicion she had, had earlier had been erased. It seemed the little lie about her mother had earned her enough sympathy points to overcome whatever alarm bells had been ringing in her mind.
For some reason, a prickle of guilt had filled her as she bypassed the bathroom and left out a side door.
- - -
Some few days later, Porco had been in bed next to her. His hand had run through his hair and he’d tried to fight off sleep. He had been exhausted, they both were, and he slumped against her frame.
“Staying here again?” She lifted the blanket higher on his torso.
He glanced out the window and saw the dark outside. “Too dark to walk. That’s okay, right?”
She gave him a kiss in response and he smirked into it. He almost looked like he could go for another round, but ultimately his exhaustion won out. Reaching over, he flicked the lamp off and darkness filled the room.
“Goodnight,” she told him. She heard him whisper it back although his voice was muffled through the blanket.
The good thing about exhausting Porco was that he went out like a light afterwords. He fell asleep easily once he’d been tired out and became dead to the world.
She only had to wait a few minutes until his soft snores had filled the room.
She counted to 100 in her mind then stood up. While the information he had relayed to her had still been fresh in her mind, she scribbled it down on her journal. Then, she glanced back to verify that he was still asleep before slipping out into the night.
- - -
Jean waited for her at the usual place. His form overlooked the pier, and he accepted the journal page from her. He he slipped it into his pocket as she leaned over the rail.
“You’re doing okay, right? No one has suspected a thing?” He examined her out of the corner of his eye.
She ran a hand through her disheveled hair and hoped the love bites Porco left on her neck weren’t too obvious. A part of her always filled with guilt whenever she saw them in the morning although she was never sure why.
If he could tell what she had been up to, he did her the favor of not mentioning it.
“He’s not giving me anything really. He knows what Zeke knows and that’s it. Marley isn’t dividing up intel between the Warriors. They’re all briefed on the same thing,” she sighed.
Jean huffed and shoved his hands in his pocket. “You’re telling me. I’m not getting anywhere either. I can’t find the little suicidal maniac anywhere, and I’m sick of following random soldiers around. Maybe there isn’t much intel to be gained here.”
They grew quiet, and she bit her lip. Frustration gnawed at her coupled with something else. It pricked her and filled her with a sense of exhaustion.
It had been weeks and she’d gotten nowhere. Porco had completely fallen for her, he spent every waking moment with her, and Pieck teased him about how much he mentioned her in conversation. However, she hadn’t getting anything out of it. He hadn’t known anything more than what Paradis already knew, and she hadn’t been close enough to Pieck to question her.
It almost felt like all the scheming and lying was for nothing. The thought made her stomach turn.
There’s been a change in her, she knew. She’d been more hesitant to lie. When Porco asked about her mother, wanting to know about how a sick nurse could have been rejected by a doctor, she had felt the lie weigh on her. A mad thought had filled her, and she had almost broken down crying. For some reason, using him just didn’t feel like some exciting secret anymore.
Luckily, he thought her tears were a result of grief for her fictional mother and dropped the matter. Still, that had been close. For a second she had worried she would break character.
“I’m tired, Jean,” she closed her eyes, “Should I just go back to Paradis? It doesn’t feel like it’s worth it.”
Jean examined her and his jaw clenched. “What’s not worth it?”
Being away from home, having to watch every word she said in case she accidentally blew her cover, lying to Porco.
“I just want to go home. Don’t you get homesick?”
Jean sighed and closed his eyes. “I get what you mean. Hang in there, though. You’re doing great so far. You may not have a lot of top secrets to report, but Hange says your information has been really beneficial. They know how many fleets are in the military and where they’re kept. Galliard may not have Zeke’s top secret clearance, but he knows enough. Hopefully he’ll unlock Marcel’s memories soon and give us more.”
She bit her cheek. Porco had only unlocked Ymir’s memories so far, and those hadn’t been useful. He learned some things about Paradis and it’s military, but it wasn’t anything that put them at a disadvantage.
Thankfully, she had never been close to Ymir, so Porco never recognized her from the memories. Her identity remained a secret.
She glanced at the skyline. The stars had been bright and she realized she’d been out too long.
“Gotta go,” she shoved her hands in her pockets, “Before Pock wakes up.”
Jean froze and turns to look at her. “Pock?”
She stopped too. The nickname had just fallen out of her mouth. She could only imagine it was Pieck rubbing off on her.
“Must’ve slipped,” she rubbed her lip.
“Don’t,” Jean’s gaze was a warning in itself, “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?”
She knew the answer. It was written plainly on his face. His arms crossed and his jaw tightened. She felt like she was being scolded.
“Don’t get too close. You’re a spy not a lover. Don’t forget your place. Once this whole place gets attacked, he’ll try to kill you. If you get too close, you just might hesitate on defending yourself.”
- - -
She realized too late that she should have listened to Jean. After that night, her cover became harder and harder to keep. It seemed like every time she had to lie, the words got caught in her throat. Maintaining her cover became more difficult.
A few days after that conversation, she made her first mistake.
Or, as Zeke would call it, strike one.
It had been nighttime and sleep wouldn’t grace her. She’d stared up at the ceiling running over every interaction between her and the others. Her teeth had clamped on her bottom lip as she realized that she’d let them get too close.
By then, she’d befriended some of the Warrior Candidates. The kids were adorable when they teased Porco about his girlfriend, and she had found herself wanting to make them some sweets as she had watched them train. The idea hadn’t come out of a desire to get intel. It had just sprung up suddenly without cause or motivation.
The thought that maybe she was in too deep filled her with fear. Jean was right to scold her. She felt herself getting too close to the abyss.
Now she wasn’t quite sure if Porco had fallen into her web, or if she’d been caught in his.
Still, she had no time to dwell on it. Suddenly, Porco had jerked up next to her. A harsh gasp left his throat and he clutched at it. Panic rolled off him in waves and he swung himself out of bed.
A nightmare. He’d get those a lot. He often woke up screaming and bathed in sweat.
He bent over the bed as he caught his breath. She flicked the lamp on and called his name.
Wearily, he recovered. His breathing was harsh and some sweat ran down his forehead, but he ambled back into bed. He’d left a water glass for himself on the nightstand and downed it in one gulp.
“A nightmare?”
She ran her hand down his back without thinking about it. The movement had been performed as an instinct. It wasn’t a part of some grand scheme to manipulate him or keep her cover.
The thought worried her, but she shoved it aside.
Porco ran a hand through his face. She knew he hated being seen like this, but he’d learned to trust her. He eased into her touch and groaned.
“My brother. I saw that girl’s memories again. She ate him. I can’t get it out of my head,” he clutched at his temples.
Ymir. He was referring to Ymir’s memories. Ymir had been the Titan to consume Marcel all those years ago. It must have been torture for him to have to relive it over and over again.
“Want to talk about it?”
She knew the answer was no. He would much rather pretend it never happened and curl back into bed. Still, she asked him automatically.
As she predicted, he shook his head.
“Nah, sorry to wake you,” he raised the blanket back over himself and closed his eyes.
“Try to think of the good memories with Marcel instead, yeah?”
She didn’t realize she’d said anything wrong until she felt Porco tense next to her. She blinked for a moment before the color drained from her face.
Marcel
Porco had never once told her his name before. He always referred to him as his brother, but had never given a name.
She supposed maybe she could get him to believe that the names of the Warriors were well known to everyone, but she had already lied before that she didn’t know the other Warriors. She had feigned not knowing who Reiner and Zeke were before in a conversation earlier, so she doubted he would believe she now knew the names of the Warriors from town gossip.
“How did you know he was named Marcel?”
Porco’s eyes scanned her. For a second, there’d been a spark of something suspicious. It looked like he’d been tensing up, and she imagined his natural inclination to be weary of people was rising.
She feigned being nonchalant as she lifted the blanket to her chin. Faking sleepiness, she yawned.
“You call his name in your sleep a lot. Whenever you have nightmares, you scream it.”
She was glad her voice sounded normal because her heart was pounding in her chest. If he didn’t buy that, her cover might be blown.
She could feel him staring at her. The gears were working in his head, and she could imagine the internal battle. He didn’t sleep talk, years of sleeping in the barracks would have given it away if he did, but he wanted to believe her.
Guilt gnawed at her as she realized that he really did want to believe her. He trusted her, cared for her, and told himself that she was credible.
The suspicion faded from his eyes as the love in him won out against the warning signs. He eased back into bed and curled an arm around her waist. Nuzzling into her, he closed his eyes.
“Sorry, I didn’t know I talk in my sleep. I hope I don’t wake you.”
She didn’t relax until after his breathing against her neck had evened out. Once he’d slipped into the realm of sleep, she squeezed her eyes shut.
She’d messed up, and the thought filled her with dread. She would have never made a mistake like that before, so why now? Why was it suddenly growing harder to keep the charade going?
She slumped against his form and squeezed her hands into a fist. She needed to be more careful from now on.
- - -
Strike two happened some days later. She and Porco had gone to the pier to watch the kids train. Pieck had been waiting for them when they arrived.
Gabi was competing with Falco for the lead while Udo and Zofia hung back. Pieck laughed quietly to herself as Porco leaned against the rail.
“Think she’ll win?” Pieck asked.
“Doesn’t she always?” Porco responded.
He yawned into his hand. Lately, his nightmares had been troubling him more and more. Between Ymir’s memories and the stress of having lived through the Mid-East War, there was always some vision that tormented him.
“I’m way too tired. I should go get some coffee,” he groaned.
“Get me one too?” Pieck blinked up at him.
“I didn’t offer to buy you one-”
“Buy us some, Pock? Please?” She helped Pieck beg.
Stuck between the two of them, Porco groaned. He fished around for his wallet, made sure he had enough, and scoffed.
“Fine. I’ll buy YOU one, but Pieck has to pay me back later for hers.”
Pieck laughed quietly and called him mean. He offered her a rude gesture as he walked away in search for a coffee place.
Once he was gone, Pieck was quiet once more. The kids had finished and Gabi had pulled through again. Falco dropped down and panted as Zofia and Udo joined him.
“She’s good. I think she’ll inherit her cousin’s titan eventually. The Brauns are really proud,” she leaned against the rail.
“I can’t imagine it’s easy though. Knowing that your daughter or niece is going to take over her cousin. It must be hard,” she rested her chin on her hand.
Pieck sighed quietly. “It is, but being an Honorary Marleyan is worth it. I’m surprised you never joined the Warrior Program. I’ve seen you run and carry heavy boxes. You’re strong and could have made it far.”
She ground her teeth and hoped that Pieck hadn’t caught on to the fact that she had military training. She wasn’t a war nurse, so she wouldn’t be able to excuse why she was strong. Maybe she’d have to let Porco carry a few heavy things in the future. She should let herself appear weaker.
“My parents didn’t want me to.”
Pieck raised an eyebrow. “Your parents missed out on a chance to get citizenship? Why’s that?”
Without thinking, she sighed. “My mother would have hated the idea of me joining the military. She only ever wanted me to be safe. She was squeamish about blood and would have hated imagining me covered in it had she been alive to see it.”
She thought back to her real mother. The woman that died in Shinganshina would have hated that her daughter became a soldier for the Corps. All she ever wanted was for her to daughter to live a peaceful life as a seamstress just like she had been. If she could see her daughter now, she’d be appalled.
Pieck was quiet for a second and a frown crossed her features. She realized too late her mistake and stilled her movements.
“Blood made her squeamish? I thought she was a nurse?” She turned to her and the suspicion that had previously been erased sparked back to life. “And you talked about her in the past tense when you would have been offered to be a Warrior as a kid. I thought she died last year?”
“I-”
Her brain stopped working and she tried to come up with some excuse. She needed lie that would make the suspicion die down. Her thoughts were in disarray and she panicked.
In the end, she never got a chance. Porco returned with three coffees and grumbled about how he was sure the barista over charged him. He passed them out to the two of them and eyed them.
Pieck was still looking at her with weariness, and she’d tried not to let her fear show.
“Did something happen?” Porco gazed at her with concern.
It was Pieck who recovered first. She raised her coffee to her lips and looked away towards where the kids had started running again. She dropped the matter although she was sure she hadn’t forgotten her little slip up.
“Nothing, but I should head back. Don’t forget we have a meeting.”
She waved goodbye and left.
She watched her go and felt dread pool at her stomach. Zeke had warned her to be careful near Pieck. She was clever and would pick up on stuff if she wasn’t careful.
Strike two.
- - -
Strike three came two weeks later. Porto dropped something and searched underneath her bed for it. His hands groped blindly for the item when he suddenly stopped.
Her heart froze in her chest when he pulls out her journal.
He raised an eyebrow and got cocky grin. “What is this? Your diary or something?”
Before she could stop him, he cracked it open.
She dove for it, but he snatched it up and raised it over his head. He was taller than her and he laughed as she jumped. She tried to get to it, but he would only bring it up higher the more she struggled.
“Are you that embarrassed to let me read it? What, is it full of your fantasies?” He laughed.
Panic filled her and she turned on him.
“Give it back!”
Her voice came out harsher than she intended. The fear in her stomach had turned to lead, and her tone sounded cold.
Porco stopped and realized that she was serious. He lowered his hand and handed her the journal back. “Woah, I was kidding. I wouldn’t really invade your privacy like that. You okay?”
She huffed and shoved the journal back under the bed. Her ears burned and she felt like crying from the residual panic.
She had been so close to getting her cover blown. She hadn’t had time to rendezvous with Jean yet, so the previous few notes she’d collected were still tucked inside. If he had read them-
She shivered and turned to him.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to yell,” she let a tear slip down and was grateful when she saw him soften at the sight, “It’s just that I’ve had my journals read before and it’s a violation of privacy.”
She sniffed again and he wiped the tear away. He wasn’t one to openly show affection, but she knew that her tears were a good way to get him to soften. It felt awful to manipulate him in that way, but everything about the mission had felt awful for a while.
“I wouldn’t have actually read it,” he looked away, “I was just messing around.”
She nodded and decided to let the matter drop. Turning away, she offered to make them both dinner.
He accepted the change in conversation and went back to his search for his missing item.
As she left the room, she missed when he calls her name. One of the loose sheets of paper had fallen out of the journal in the kerfuffle. He picked it up to hand it back to her, but she was already gone.
Sighing, he intended to shove it under the bed with the journal when he spotted his name on it. Confused, he unrolled it and glanced at its contents. Inside was a collection of notes regarding troop placements.
Confusion and something cold filled him and he shoved it into his pocket intending to look at it more closely later.
From the kitchen, she missed the way his eyes seemed to darken.
Strike three. You’re out.
- - -
She met with Jean that day and decided to give him the entire journal. The fear of almost being found out had left a bad taste in her mouth. To make matters worse, Porco had been acting off all afternoon. Rather than spending the night like he usually did, he had left mumbling something about a late night meeting with the other Warriors. She hadn’t been sure if he had forgiven her for yelling yet.
Jean took the journal with a raised eyebrow.
“All of it? You don’t want to keep writing notes?” He slipped it into the inside of his coat.
She rubbed at her arms and shook her head. “He almost read it, Jean. I managed to take it in time, but what if he had read it? Our cover would have been blown. I’ve never been that scared before.”
Jean hissed under his breath. He pinched the bridge of his nose and his voice grew cold.
“Be more fucking careful next time! If he had read it, all of this would have been over. You have any idea what they’ll do to you if they find out? What he’ll do to you?”
“He wouldn’t hurt me,” she spilled it out without thinking.
Jean openly gaped at her and she paled.
“I mean-”
“Fuck, listen to yourself. Are you sure you’re not the one wrapped around his finger?” Jean kicked at the pier in frustration, “This is getting too bad. You almost got caught and now you’re in over your head. The last thing we need is you turning coats because you caught feelings.”
“I didn’t!” She hissed it at him and hit him in the arm hard.
She wasn’t sure why she lashed out, but the pent up anger and fear from before suddenly rushed out. She hit him again and hissed into his ear. “Stop doubting me. I’m a soldier same as you. Don’t underestimate me.”
He shoved her arms to the side and pinned them down. His arms held her steady and she was suddenly pinned into his embrace. His gaze burned with rage and a warning.
“Yeah, well act like a soldier. Stop letting him get too close and stop forgetting what you’re here for. Get the intel and that’s it. No more dates or fantasizing. Don’t forget why we’re here and be more fucking careful next time.”
He let her go and she rubbed at her arms in anxiety. “I’m sorry for hitting you.”
“Whatever,” he shrugged off her apology, “Just don’t lose your head. Your life is on the line. Paradis is on the line. Don’t forget that. Don’t let your feelings cloud your judgement.”
She stared after him as he left. Her eyes burned and she felt some tears run down her face. He was right and she knew it.
She was on a mission. This wasn’t a game. Her life was on the line, and her home would pay the price if she failed. This wasn’t some romance novel. If her cover was blown, she was sure Porco wouldn’t hesitate to turn her in.
Her hands covered her eyes and she leaned against the railing of the pier. The wind blew her hair back. She stayed there thinking about everything and how it was all going wrong-
And she never noticed the girl staring from yards away with pursed lips.
- - -
A hand suddenly yanked her into a room, and she almost screamed. The only thing that kept her from shrieking was the hand that clamped her mouth shut.
Someone made a ‘shushing’ sound. Their finger pressed to their lips and she blinked.
Zeke.
She shoved him off shocked. “The hell are you doing? What if someone saw?”
They were in the military headquarters. She came to meet Porco for lunch when suddenly she was abducted.
Zeke had yanked her into some sort office. He shook his head and locked the door. His face was tense.
“We had a meeting earlier in my office. I left afterwords to deliver some paperwork and heard talking when I got back. It was Pieck and Porco. Something happened.”
Dread filled her.
“What?” She breathed out the word and knew what he was going to say before he said it.
“Pieck saw you last night with a man. She told Porco he had you in an embrace. She’s concerned you haven’t been honest with them,” he plopped down on a chair, “Something about your mother too?”
Grinding her teeth, she felt a sense of dread.
Jean. Pieck had seen her with Jean. She felt lightheaded as she realized that. Did she overhear their conversation too or just spot them from a distance? Either way, this was really bad.
“And what did Porco say?”
“He told her she was wrong. Sounded like he was trying to convince himself though. I couldn’t hear more than that because Colt called my name and gave my presence away. Once they heard I was back, they stopped talking. I don’t know what else they know, but I think you’re cover is breaking.”
He seemed irritated as he pushed his glasses up.
“I thought you were more careful? We trained you for months. What happened?”
She ran a hand through her hair. She knew exactly what had been happening and it frightened her. Jean had been right this entire time. This mission had been messing with her head in ways she never imagined. She needed to get out of Marley as soon as possible.
Ignoring Zeke, she opened the door to the office. Taking a step forward, she spotted Porco stalking angrily through the halls. His face was flushed in irritation and he clenched his fists in his pockets.
“Pock?” She called out to him and closed the door behind her. Hopefully, Zeke would get the message and know to stay inside. They shouldn’t be seen together considering they hadn’t formally met before.
Porco stopped at her voice and spun around. Something passed through his eyes, something cold, and she tensed. A fight or flight instinct rose in her. If he’d caught on to things already, this was really bad.
But the moment passed quickly, and his arm draped around her shoulder.
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
“Came to invite you to lunch,” she replied.
She tried to steer him away from the room. He glanced behind the door in thought.
A ball of fear sank in her stomach. She’d had no idea that he was outside the hall when she stepped out. Hopefully he hadn’t seen what room she emerged from.
She found herself talking in order to fill the silence. “There’s a restaurant you like around the corner right? We should eat there?”
He blinked slowly. “Yeah, how’d you know? Have I ever taken you there?”
“Pieck told me,” she lied. She didn’t wait for him, she took his hand and tugged him behind her. Her thoughts were buzzing in her head, and she clamped her teeth down on her tongue.
Zeke had been right. She was trained for this mission, so why did she keep making stupid mistakes? At what point did she stop being the confident spy?
As they left, she heard the door open behind them. Zeke emerged fixing the collar of his shirt.
Behind her, she saw Porco turn around. When his eyes landed on Zeke’s retreating figure, he tensed. She and Zeke hadn’t been introduced yet. There was no reason for the two of them to have been in the same room together.
She waited for him to ask, to question, but he never did. Instead, he turned back around and moved in front of her. He let her lead him away to that favorite restaurant of his that she had no way of knowing about. His gaze the entire time was full of distrust, but he never voiced it out.
Still, she felt the widening distance between them and held back her wince. Jean and Zeke were right. Her cover was cracking.
- - -
She waited for Porco to initiate a conversation. The entire day she’d felt the gap between them widening. He felt tense and kept glancing at her almost as if he wanted to gear himself up to ask her something.
But the confrontation never came. Instead, he let her ramble about her day and responded with small snippets of conversation. In the end, they returned to her home and he let her lead him to her room.
When they made love, something felt off. His thoughts were a million miles away from her, and he seemed distracted. His movements felt robotic, and she couldn’t help but notice the walls he’d slowly brought up.
The conversation with Pieck had done a number on him. She knew he was desperate to ask about the mysterious man she had embraced. He also probably wondered about a million other things that didn’t fit, mistakes she’d made that would give anyone pause, but he couldn’t bring himself to speak them out loud. Perhaps he thought that, if he said something, it would make everything more real.
She almost wished he would say something. Even if it meant that her cover was exposed and she had to flee, she figured anything was better than this uncomfortable chasm that had widened between them.
Still, he never said anything. He slept with her the way he had in the past and only ever said her name in the heights of pleasure. Even though he couldn’t bring himself to look at her in the eyes, he kept his mouth shut.
The only time that night that he spoke was when he reached his limit. Groaning as he finished, he presses a harsh kiss to her lips. Then he sounded out something that made her blood freeze.
“I love you.”
Three little words and her world fell apart. He’d never said it before. She never imagined he’d be the type to say it.
As he started to drift off exhausted, she ran a hand through her hair. Her heart was racing, and there was an awful pain somewhere in her chest. She felt like crying but fought it off.
After he’d fallen asleep, she put her head in her hands.
“I love you too, Pock.”
With growing horror, she realized she was telling the truth.
- - -
He didn’t bring it back up again. She wondered if he even remembered saying it. Maybe it had slipped out in a moment of pleasure, and he didn’t really mean it.
She wasn’t sure which alternative she preferred. The one where Porco loved her or the one where he had just said it on instinct in the middle of sex. Both made her feel sick.
The festival came faster than it should. The kids laughed and had fun as they raced from stall to stall.
The Warriors had separated into groups. She and Porco had joined Pieck to walk along the displays while Reiner had gone with the kids. She was glad that Porco in his possessiveness had not wanted them to meet. She wasn’t sure whether Reiner would recognize her or not, and she couldn’t risk it with Pieck around.
Pieck had grown distant. Gone was the friendly girl who smiled and laughed. After seeing her with Jean that night she had been openly suspicious.
The thought made her nervous. Best case scenario, Pieck just thought she was unfaithful. Worse case scenario, however, she knew she was lying about who she was. Still, both options were awful.
“Wanna try those foods over there?” Porco nodded at the booth selling something that smelt spicy and exotic. The name of it was in some language she didn’t know.
“Sure, we can eat them by the music area,” Pieck hummed.
Porco offered to go buy them some of it and left. Left alone with Pieck, she shifted uncomfortably.
Pieck eyed another stand nearby selling some dessert. It was covered in chocolate and strawberries. It looked good and was within their price range.
“We should get some of that too. It isn’t every day Liberio has a festival,” Pieck motioned for her to join.
“Anything catch your eye?” She asked Pieck. The booth had individually wrapped each sweet and had a flavor tag in front displaying the various kinds. There were berries and nuts and a bunch of other little toppings that they could choose from.
“What do you think Pock would like? Does he have any allergies?” Pieck glanced at her.
She thought back to the file that she read in Paradis.
“Nuts, I think.”
Pieck hummed and grabbed the one with nuts anyway. When she gave her a questioning glance, she realized Pieck’s eyes had turned cold. She’d failed some type of test, and she realized it too late.
“Really? Because I saw him eat some walnuts the other day. Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure he outgrew that allergy years ago. I don’t know why he would mention it to you now.”
She froze.
The file Zeke gave her must not have been up to date. Some kids outgrew allergies as they grew older. The stupid Marleyan record keepers must not have known to update Porco‘s file once he was an adult.
“Really? I thought he mentioned it earlier,” she tried to sound nonchalant.
It did nothing to help her. This time, Pieck had completely turned cold. Her eyes were harsh and she took a step forward.
“How did your mother really die? Your file at the hospital doesn’t make sense. The name listed under her doesn’t exist-”
“You looked through my file?” Her voice sounded faraway.
Pieck glanced to the side. Porco was returning with the food. Her cold gaze disappeared replaced by something that looked friendly yet false.
“We should join Pock before he eats our share too,” she replied. She slipped a hand around her shoulder and led her away.
She didn’t miss the quiet little whisper Pieck offered her way as they walked. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears.
“Don’t be mad at me for looking through your file. After all, you looked through mine.”
- - -
She found Jean at the rendezvous location that night. She grabbed onto his arm in panic. He startled and his eyes widened.
“What happened? You look like you’ve seen a ghost!”
“My cover’s blown. The Cart Titan is smarter than we thought. She’s guessed I’m lying. I need to leave Marley before she tells the military.”
Jean swore.
“Ok, ok, I can send a letter to the Scouts. We can send you back in a few days from now. Just wait until Tybur’s speech. Eren sent a letter and told us he plans to attack Liberio then. Just wait for the zeppelin to pass by. I’ll get someone to send you some ODM gear and you can use it to shoot yourself up. Just play everything normal.”
She pressed her hands to her face.
“Pieck found out. I fucked up. She was already starting to trust me, but then I opened my mouth. I bet she’s already told the others.”
Jean glanced around them. The pier looked empty, but they shouldn’t hang around too often.
“Just relax, alright? As long as the Marleyan soldiers don’t pound down your door, you’ll be fine. Just a few more days. In the meantime, just avoid her.”
He shoved his hands in his pocket and turned to leave.
She watched him go and felt like vomiting. Her mission had fallen apart, and she was terrified of what was coming. Either she would be dragged out by soldiers in the morning, or she would have to wait for an attack that would kill many civilians.
Frightened, she realized Porco would fight in that attack too. As a Warrior, he would be there when his people were killed. Would he realize then that Pieck was right? Realize that she had been a spy this whole time? Would it hurt him the way it was hurting her?
Once upon a time, she wanted to break him and the other Eldians just like they had broken through Wall Maria. She wanted them to hurt as much as she had hurt when her family had been killed in Shinganshina.
But now, with the rage fading to a dull roar and a searing pain in her chest taking its place, she couldn’t help but feel like the only thing she had managed to break was her own heart.
- - -
He was awake when she returned to her home. The lamp light was turned on as she entered the room. He blinked sleepily at her and cleared his throat to rid his vocal chords of sleep.
“Where were you? I woke up from a nightmare and you were gone. You didn’t answer when I called your name,” he eyed her.
She kicked off her shoes under the bed.
“I was getting some water downstairs. Sorry, I didn’t hear you,” she replied.
He didn’t believe her. She knew it when she looked at him. Her hair was disheveled from the wind, her shoes had sand from the pier, and her skin smelt like saltwater. He didn’t believe her-
But he wanted to.
She saw how he closed his eyes and let himself believe her. Every instinct of his warned him that she was lying, surely Pieck had warned him a thousand times too, but his heart triumphed over his brain. He accepted the lie from her and let it cloud his judgement.
Easing himself back into bed, he let out a soft sigh that sounded defeated and pained. Her heart gave a lurch.
“Yeah, yeah, maybe I was wrong.”
As he fell back asleep, she knew he didn’t just mean about her whereabouts.

Tybur’s speech came before she realized it. Jean had warned her not to stay for it. A day earlier, Yelena had stopped by dressed as a Marleyan soldier and provided her a black uniform and ODM gear. Everything was in place for her escape and Liberio’s attack.
The Warriors had been invited to the speech. It was a grand affair with many dignitaries from foreign nations joining. Porco grumbled as he put on his uniform claiming that he felt like Willy Tybur’s little circus monkey. It was obvious he meant to parade the big and terrifying Eldian Warriors for all the world to see.
She wasn’t allowed to sit with him at the speech which was a relief. The Warriors had their own section separate with the military. As a civilian nurse, her row of seats was far away from his.
They arrived to the locale as more people had started to sit down. There was chatter and buzz as people arrived.
Porco stopped halfway to the Warrior section and ran a hand through his hair. She glimpsed past him and saw the other Warriors already there. Zeke lounged in his seat looking bored while Pieck played with Zofia and the other candidates.
“I’ll see you after the speech, right?”
His voice was quiet, unusual for him, and she wondered if maybe he had a feeling things weren’t what they seemed.
Pieck had pulled him aside yesterday too. Zeke had warned her that they were whispering to each other again. Her cover had been blown wide open. Pieck was sure she was a spy, but hadn’t made a move.
She’s waited for days for the Marley soldiers to come and drag her out kicking and screaming, but no one had shown up. Jean theorized that Pieck was being held at bay by Porco. Maybe he wanted to handle things first before they called in the cavalry.
Still, Porco never confronted her. He just blindly accepted her lies although it looked like his eyes grew more and more suspicious. The way he quietly observed her spoke volumes as to how his trust in her had dwindled.
That hurt more than she would like to admit, and she scolded herself for being such an awful spy.
“Yeah, I’ll see you,” she responded.
She turned to leave, but he stopped her with a hand on her arm.
“I mean it,” his face was serious, “We have to talk. I need to speak to you. It’s really important.”
She swallowed. Those four little words were never good for any relationship. She supposed a fake one wasn’t any different.
“Yeah, okay.”
Suddenly the black uniform she wore under her large overcoat felt like it was suffocating her. With any luck, she’d be gone before he had a chance to realize she was a spy. She didn’t think she could stomach the look of betrayal that would be on his face when he realized it.
“See you then,” he kept searching her eyes for something but let her go.
“Goodbye,” she responded, “I love you, Pock.”
She meant it as she said it, and her own heart broke into a million pieces. He paused as he walked away and she saw his entire body tense. A look of agony flickered in his eyes for half a second before it was cleared away.
He knew now this was the last time they’d ever see each other. She saw him realize it. All of a sudden, his eyes were opened to the truth. Every warning Pieck had given him had just now hit home.
“I love you too,” he closed his eyes and wished it wasn’t true when he said it, “Goodbye.”

Yelena’s plan failed. She was supposed to lock Pieck and Porco in a trapdoor to keep them from the battle. However, despite all of her warnings about Pieck being clever, she underestimated her.
Pieck caught on to her and suspected her from the beginning. She warned the Panzer squad right before being led into a trap. Her team was able to rescue them both, and they joined the fight.
Still, it was not her problem anymore. She discarded her overcoat somewhere else and her uniform was exposed. The wings of freedom proudly winked in the night light.
She was a scout, a citizen of Paradis, and she had bigger things to worry about. She buried her emotions down somewhere deep inside and readied her ODM gear.
The zeppelin arrived just as Jean had predicted. She took one final look as Liberio burned and steeled herself.
Her hooks shot up and landed on the blimp. She rose into the air.
As she made her ascent, she caught sight of two Titans at the far end of the area. One was a Titan on four legs with tanks on its back. The other was a Titan with streaming hair and a wide jaw.
They both rose their heads as the Scouts zipped along the sky firing thunder spears in their wake. They saw her lifting herself up on the blimp.
Sasha appeared at the entrance and offered her hand. She took it and let herself get pulled up. As she stood, she turned back down to see the two Titans below.
The Cart Titan was glaring openly, her suspicions confirmed. The Jaw Titan was frozen as his world fell apart around him.
She apologized to him in her head and gave him her back. The rest of the Scouts surged to her and asked her if she was okay. She wasn’t, and tears ran down her face much to their shock.
Behind her, she could hear the Jaw Titan’s agonized roar.

Prof Lupin x Werewolf Reader
A/N not the best but i wanted so see if the idea could work.
Master list
It was a full moon the night before and buy the way you felt... it was definitely a bad one. You woke up that morning in the dungeons of Hogwarts with a pounding headache and 3 new scratches on your arm.
The walls were littered with deep claw marks and a light layer of brown fur, dusted the stone cell. You hated it. You hated being in that cell once a month. It was your second year doing the routine and it was driving you up the tiny walls. All you wanted to do at that moment was ease the pain on your arm.
TIME SKIP> LATER THAT DAY
Your classroom door creaked open, pulling your attention away from the charm you were casting.
In walked a lady in long, emerald green robes and a large pointy hat. She was on the older side and had her silver hair tied up in a bun that was hidden under her hat.
"Good afternoon Professor Mcgonagall" You chimed. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
"I apologise, Professor but I must borrow you for the remainder of the class," She said, smiling at you with an apologetic look. There was no sense of urgency in her voice. She had a kind and respectable air around her that always made you feel at ease.
"Well children" you began, swishing your wand and muttering a spell that made the room rain blue slips of paper. "Looks like you have an hour to kill. Please take a paper to ensure that you don't get detention and Professor McGonagall will sign them on your way out."
One by one, your students filed out of the classroom and had their slips signed.
"Have a good afternoon, children," McGonagall said closing the door behind the pair of you.
As you entered the hall, you saw Professor Lupin waiting outside your door. This seemed a tad bit strange to you. For one, he was supposed to be teaching DADA to 3rd years at that time and second, he had been outside of your classroom before. A few times actually. The first time, you were in a rush and unable to talk. The second time, he managed to get out a polite greeting before a students spell blew up a statue.
Each time you mentally kicked yourself because over the few months he had been at Hogwarts... you had become a tad bit smitten.
Seeing that the two of you had exited the classroom, Lupin made his way towards you.
"Are you alright (Y/N), you look awful."
You sent your friend an amused look. McGonagall was fully aware of what you were but it never bothered her, Snape or Dumbledore.
"Professor Lupin." you said failing to hide your embarrassment." To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I assure you, Professor (Last Name), the pleasure is all mine." He replied. He held eye contact with you for a second. It looked like he was about to say something before Minnie cut him short.
"Right. You two follow me. We mustn't keep dumbledore waiting."
McGonagall stopped in front of a huge door. With a strong push, the professor opened the heavy door enough that the 3 of you could get into her classroom.
"In you go"
"Minnie may I ask what this is about?" you asked only to be cut off mid-sentence.
"We will discuss that when we are in the classroom."
She let out a slight laugh "The pair of you look like scared children. There's no need to worry you're not in trouble, we just need to talk to you." The Professor asked guiding you both to the front of the room.
" Yes professor I'm fine" Remus answered her with a sigh.
Before you could answer her, the door opened, revealing the headmaster. He had the same calm air around him that McGonagall did but he also radiated power (In both magical and un-magical ways).
"Good morning Professor McGonagall, Lupin..." Dumbledore greeted. " (Y/N) ... any new injuries today?"
You fiddled with your shirt sleeve. "Nothing I cant take care of"
Dumbledore turned to Remus and asked the same question. The man took a quick glance at you before his eyes cemented themselves to the floor.
"I assume you are curious as to why you are here (Y/N)."
"To put it mildly professor" you joked.
McGonagall was amused but didn't show it.
"We're both Werewolves. You and I" Remus said trying to be confident as he planted his hands in his pockets.
The pair of you looked at each other for a moment in silence. You were both Werewolfs. No wonder you felt something when he was neer you. He was a lycan. Like you.
During the silence, McGonagall went to hold your hand in a supportive way.
"I'm sorry what?" you asked looking at Lupin.
"(Y/N) don't get upset. We were only doing what we.." It was your turn to cut Professor McGonagall off but you started awquadly laughing.
"What? why would I be upset?"
At the corner of your eye, you saw Lupin shifted his weight from one foot to the other.
"Is this why you've been trying to talk to me outside my classroom, Remus?"
The teacher paused for a second with panic before he scratched the back of his head. "y-yes. That's what I... wanted to talk about." He answered, the last bit of his sentence drifting off into nothingness.
You weren't convinced.
Time skip
Later that evening after making sure the students were in their houses, you retired to your chambers. You were in the middle of getting into your nightclothes when you heard a knock at your door.
"One moment!" You said scrambling to tie your robe.
It was too late for a student and it wasn't any supernatural being ether, it was Lupin. He had that same charming smile he hid when he first arrived and his hands still firmly cemented into his pockets.
"Remus!" you smiled, adjusting your dressing gown to shield yourself from the cold. " Is everything alright?"
"Yes, yes everything's fine... may I come in?" He asked chewing his thumbnail. "It's about what we discussed today."
That's when it clicked. Obviously he'd have questions about how to keep things quiet and how to avoid detection in a place like this.
"Oh yes, of course, come in," you said, opening the door to allow him in. "Take a seat anywhere."
The second he did so you thought of something else. Didn't he go to Hogwarts as a boy? He should already know how to do all of that.... right?
You closed the door and shuffled on your feet for a second. You had never had anyone in your chambers before so you weren't exactly prepared for guests.
"Sorry about the mess I'm not much for company. I'm sure you have a few questions. In all honesty, I do too. Do you want some tea? I'll go make some tea."
WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU SAYING??? TEA? WHY WOULD HE WANT TEA AT 11 PM?? words were spilling out of your mouth quicker than you could think of them.
"Are you alright, Professor?" He asked, snapping you back to your senses. With a sigh, you took a seat across from him, rubbed your face and took a minute to calm down.
"Forgive me Lupin I've been... feeling a lot of things, today."
You saw Remus sink into his seat a little.
"Good things all good things but you're not here to hear me talk about my stuff," you said shifting in your seat. "What can I help you with?"
He was fiddling with his nails. It took him a second before composing himself to look at you.
"All good things?" he asked.
You were taken back buy the question and paused for a second before answering him " ...Mostly good things."
He sank in the chair again. "And what was the bad thing?"
"... I was... a little disappointed." you said with a small sigh.
The cheeky smile wasn't on his face anymore. He looked upset.
"Remus what's this about?" when you didn't get a response you tilted your body to look him in the eye.
"Disappointed in what?"
"Honestly?" you asked. He gave you a nod and with a sigh, you gave him your honest answer.
"I was disappointed that the only reason you were waiting outside my classroom, was to tell me what we were. What we become. I was disappointed that, of all things we COULD have in common... to get us to talk... was that."
He turned his head to look at you and was greeted with kind eyes and s content smile.
"Other than that? ALL good things"
After hearing you say this, he sat up straight in his seat. You Practically saw the gears turning in his head.
"T-that.." he begun, picking his fingers again "That wasn't the reason."
Your eyebrows knotted together in confusion. Whatever he wanted to say made him nervous.
"That wasn't the reason I was outside your classroom. I just said that to avoid telling you the real reason."
This was getting interesting now. Why was he really there then?
"Then why?"
He paused and looked at you.
"Because I ... wanted to ask you if you wanted to go to Hogsmeade with me."
You just got more confused. "Me?"
"Yes (Y/N), You."
He got off his seat to kneel in front of you and loosely held your hands in his own.
"And it's not because of what you are, It's because of WHO you are. You're this beautifully talented women who puts passion into everything she puts her mind to. Someone who isn't scared to be who she is."
You were shocked. You heard every word that came from his lips and you couldn't believe what he thought about you.
With a smile, you leant down and placed a kiss on his forehead. His head shot up to look at you.
"Thank you, Remus. Those are the nicest things anyone has ever said to me." You squeezed his hands.
"So is that a yes on the date to Hogsmeade?" He asked a smile slowly finding its way to his lips.
With a wide smile, you leant down to give him another kiss on the forehead but instead he caught you in a real kiss. It was accidental on both ends but neither of you pulled away at first. When he did he was filled with embarrassment.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean for that to happen"
You laughed and kissed his cheek. "let's save the proper ones for Hogsmeade shall we?"
