" अहं ब्रह्मास्मि " ( Aham brahmasmi)
It means, I'm the universe. (Basically "I am")
What happens when you chant Aham Brahmasmi?
The sound represents the essence of everything in this universe, and those who chant it become one with Brahman (the Absolute Consciousness). The Aham Brahmasmi Mantra also represents the power of creation because it means that we are not limited by our physical body but can create whatever we imagine.
What happens when you chant Aham Brahmasmi? 2
… repeating Aham Brahmasmi, we tap into our true essence and align ourselves with the infinite wisdom and love that resides within us and all around us. (Basically the void state)
Who called Aham Brahmasmi?
Aham Brahmasmi is one of the mahavakyas and appears in the Brihadaranyaka upanishad of shukla yajurveda. It is also the central essence of the Advaita philosophy propounded by Adi Shankaracharya. A-dvaita means non-dualism. It says the creator and his creation are not two (dual) things, but are one..
What is the theory of Aham Brahmasmi?
The Indian philosophy of "Aham Brahmasmi" means "I am Brahman/divine" and refers to the Hindu belief that the soul is divine and connected to God. Both philosophies emphasize spirituality, individualism, and the soul's connection to the divine. They share concepts of seeing divinity in oneself and nature.
What is the Aham Brahmasmi in Hinduism?
In Hindu philosophy, 'aham brahmasmi' translates to "I am Brahman," signifying the individual's recognition of their true self as being part of the universal consciousness or Brahman. This idea aligns with the core principles of Hindu adhyatma, which focuses on understanding the soul, its purpose, and practices.
I copy pasted some of the questions that may help.
I am not some expert, but I'm sure if u chant aham brahmasmi, you will reach the void state. The pure consciousness.

kriti; an ode to devotion
dr. ratio x fem!reader, in which ratio finds himself absolutely smitten for a musician from earth.
content/warnings: 1.4k words, reader is very very feminine, referred to with she/her, reader is also indian and a maestro at indian classical music, i made this purely as a self-indulgent self-insert piece, religious imagery/writing, good ol’ potential ooc dr. ratio warning, he does not know ANYTHING about indian classical music or hindu culture, a few sanskrit terms used
author’s note: aaaah i can’t stop thinking about how dr. ratio would absolutely just fall in love with people passionate for their lines of work. i know this is pretty much just a self insert of my own but the thought of ratio with an s/o devoted to music or dance is so... <3
ratio feels like he’s sighed for the millionth time today. “didn’t you find someone else to do your bidding, gambler?” his question is met with a resounding and joyful nope! from aventurine, who drags him into the crowded theatre. “i had two tickets for this show because my friend was very kind. but no one else could make it on such short notice,” the blonde says, the smile never leaving his face. “so, i’m glad you came with me, doctor. ah! two empty seats! lucky us, eh?”
“whatever.”
ratio can’t say he’s the biggest fan of music— he dabbles in it from time to time, but nothing too much. it it weren’t for the gambler’s insistence, he would currently have been home and indulging in a relaxing bath; but alas, aventurine always gets what he wants. “i’m surprised you even have friends with a personality as repulsive as yours.”
“that hurt, you know,” aventurine says, clutching at his chest and forcing a pained expression onto his face. “do you really think i’m that bad?”
“no, i just think you are an idiot. or that the friends you have are equally as repulsive as you.”
the chatter around him turns into static white noise and he stares emptily at the blank stage, numbers and letters going left and right and center in his brain. the frustrating proof that the doctor had been trying to work on for weeks now is making a resurgence in his head. well, on second thought, maybe it’s not so bad that he got dragged out… perhaps, the doctor could make use of this opportunity to unplug and relax a bit. maybe the gambler isn’t so much of an idiot after all (aventurine knows, but he won’t let up).
ratio is snapped out of his daze as the curtains draw to a close, the stage now hidden behind them. a good portion of the crowd silences, in anticipation of the performance that was about to begin any second now. he heaves a sigh when the curtains reopen, a subconsciously bated breath being released.
in the middle of the stage sits a woman wearing a rich blue… robe? stole? no, it’s probably a saree, he surmises. “that’s her!” aventurine says excitedly with a gasp. “do you see her, doctor?” the soft light falling on the woman seems to reflect off of her in a subtle shine. almost like an ethereal goddess... “yes, i do, aventurine, i am not blind. i’m actually surprised you have friends from earth, of all planets.”
and ratio truly was genuinely surprised— not because he truly believed that aventurine’s personality would be an obstacle between him and his friendships, but because as far as he knew, earth was one of those tiny planets in a remote arm of the milky way galaxy. the people of earth tended to have their own cultures and gods that they worshipped instead of the aeons, and all of this differed widely between major regions on the planet. the… earthlings? well, in any case, they rarely ever travelled outside of their home planet— the maximum they usually ever went was within their planetary system. maybe they’re finally beginning to get out of their comfort zone? no one knows for sure.
the chatter of the crowd gradually dies down as three others assemble next to the woman with their instruments. she takes a sip from the bottle that lay next to her, and ratio notices the slight motion she makes with her hand. he assumes this was to get the show going, because the instrumentalists began playing their parts. they start with a monotonous and constant drone, after which the other stringed instrumentalist joins along with the harmonium player— and finally, you. ratio finds his interest piqued— he does not know much about earth and its customs and cultures.
you take a breath and you start singing. you start off slow and mellow, but ratio can feel the intensity and tempo of the performance gradually increasing— and with it, the intricacies of phrases that you’re singing. he finds it infuriatingly captivating, the way you jump through the chromatic scale with ease, like a deer prancing about in the forest. he wonders if you speak in melody.
ratio swears it’s the most masterful thing he’s ever listened to. he’s never listened to this kind of music ever in his life before, he knows nothing. it’s not as big as a choir or orchestra— and yet, he finds it amazing, the ease with which you conduct everyone with a flick of your hand. no… it’s not conducting. it seemed too unauthoritative to be. honestly, he has a lot of questions but for now he lets himself think of it simply for what it probably was— a well coordinated performance (and he would not be wrong to think of it that way either).
the skillful gliding of your voice has ratio enamoured. he finds it impressive, how easily you seem to be gliding over three octaves of notes without breaking out into as much as a sweat. he can only imagine the years and years of practice that must have gone into gaining such mastery— you make it look as easy as breathing. he would be lying if he said he didn’t find it attractive to some degree at the very least.
it takes him completely by surprise when you look in his direction and shoot your biggest most saccharine smile ever. and then he remembers about your supposed friendship with the man next to him and realises that it wasn’t for him. the gambler wasn’t lying, eh? who was ratio kidding, you didn’t even know him.
but he’s starting to become far gone. ratio isn’t a sapiosexual or whatever, by any means, even if he comes off as such. he knows that people think he would only be willing to date someone who has more phds than he does, but that’s not true at all. ratio believes that one must be passionate about anything that they choose to do. ultimately, that’s really what gets him hooked. he’s absolutely taking delight in looking at the fruits of your years of devotion to your art. and you, your performance is so enchanting it almost hurts. he feels like a dazed sailor drawn to a siren.
heh, it wouldn’t be so bad if the siren was you, he thinks, but immediately cringes at the thought afterward, discarding it into some corner of his brain he hopes to never see again.
oh, aventurine isn’t blind to any of this. he looks at the doctor’s eyes glued onto the stage with hyperfocus, and laughs. he doesn’t miss the way his grip on the armrests grow tighter and tighter, the flexing and tensing of his muscles obvious. who would’ve thought that his musician friend from earth of all people would’ve had the doctor whipped? he supposes it wasn’t a bad decision to bring ratio along, after all.
the audience bursts into thunderous clapping once you hit the end of your performance. ratio almost thought there was going to be no end to it— not that he’d complain though, it would’ve given him more time to study your performance, your art, more time to study you. “that was… that was a splendid performance. i wasn’t expecting to find myself hooked onto a musical of all things, seems like you aren’t completely bad, gambler.” ratio is completely candid with his compliment.
“oh, i know how much you enjoyed this,” aventurine says rather suggestively, catching the doctor off-guard. “hey, i’m going into the backstage to meet her— would you like to tag along?”
ratio is elated at the offer. of course he’d want to meet you, he’s got so many questions and— “sure…” his expression remains as stoic as ever. he’s always been able to count on himself but now? he hopes his deadpan image isn’t betrayed by his feelings, and he finds it so impossibly difficult to fight back the smile that’s slowly creeping onto his features as he watches you and aventurine converse like you were best friends reunited.
“this is my friend, doctor ratio!”
“oh, so you’re the doctor that everyone talks about! nice to meet you, i’m _____.”
you knew him already? well, it’s no big deal, you must have heard about him from aventurine. fuck, you look so much more heavenly up close. you’re like the manifestation of a goddess, with the way you seem to literally radiate a glow and everything. shit, if he didn’t know any better, he’d think you were an emanator of beauty, or an incarnation of devi saraswati (he hopes he isn’t thinking of the wrong goddess with his limited knowledge of hindu culture).
“likewise. just veritas is fine, too. that was an absolutely phenomenal performance, back then.”
veritas doesn’t know the first thing about the gods you sung the praises of during your performance, but he does think that your devotion to the art must be unmatched. he feels like you are a personification of the heavens, and he’s blind to everything that isn’t your divine beauty. there’s something so ancient about your art, and you’re almost like an envoy of the gods— aeons, you’re slowly getting him wrapped around your damn finger, and he doesn’t think he’s going to do anything to stop it.
“thank you, veritas,” you smile at him, and he feels a slight warmth. “i’ll be performing again at the grand theatre soon. you’ll be there, right?”

While I entirely understand Indians who have been traumatized by Hinduism and would never deny them those feelings, asserting that it is a uniquely oppressive faith just isn't true. All religions, like any social technology, have the capacity to empower or oppress based on an infinite number of factors. I'm white, so my positionality here is far different from that of a Desi person and I'll therefor never know what it's like to be a queer Indian or someone of a lower caste, there has certainly been a lot of harm done to those groups in the name of faith, but the same is true the world over.
I don't practice, but I study Hinduism at a university level and have seen its flaws and the ways it can be surprisingly empowering (Arjuna when he's in exile in Virata and Shikandi -both a part of the Mahabharata- are two of my favourite examples of stories that you can read as queer and more specifically trans).
Likewise, my academic sister and someone who has more or less adopted me is a middle aged Indian woman who is an extremely devout follower of Krishna. She has nevertheless welcomed me into her home as a trans man and spoken about how she loves the acceptance of Canadian society, she also talks about how she abhors the caste system and the harm is causes.
Like I said at the top, I will never argue against people who have been hurt by the faith, but the generalizations of hatred hurt my heart.
(P.S. i'm too scared to go off anon here, but if you wanna talk about Hinduism Velvet just say so and i'll DM you lmao)
and btw an Indian woman having trauma doesn't make her racist for not liking her own culture's dominant religion but it is
absolutely
racist that a lot of White people are cheering on her epic dunk on a religion of more than a billion people because they would recognize that please-get-therapy response would be bugfuck if she directed that hostility towards a trans Christian but it being something outside of their own cultural context means everyone is totally thrilled to go along with "it inspired the Nazis! you can't be Hindu without being transphobic!"
like literally that is the entirety of her complaint
I pointed out the OP was not about her and she IMMEDIATELY pivoted away from that issue to me being "obsessed" with her because I briefly discussed her book one month ago and apply the term she uses for her ideology to others who share it with the framing that I'm doing an Operation Freakout because she's apparently gone on rants about Hinduism before
so regardless of her meltdown being triggered by something she now is undeniably aware was not about her she still gets her W from the cheering crowds because she ripped the mask off her bubbling trauma making her lose her shit at anyone who practices or is working towards practicing Hinduism which everyone loves because to them it's just some backwards foreign cult akin to a browner version of Scientology
God, can you imagine how they feel about Jews if they're this angry about Hindu atrocities? No fucking wonder they can't go five seconds without accusing anyone they dislike of being a Zionist the second they find out they're Jewish. It's unimaginably racist. Not of Talia, she just needs time off the internet, but of every White person who will uncritically share it in spite of the fact that no they truly would not say some dumb shit like this about the major religions that fit into their cultural context. This is exactly how TERFs are with Muslims, but it's not praxis right now for TRFs to hate Muslims unless China is the one putting them in concentration camps.
"transfeminized people are at the bottom of the caste system" ohhhhh my God and Christians have murdered queer people FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS but to act like a trans person being Hindu is a unique act of betrayal or short-sightedness you have to conveniently ignore that because it would be so obviously wrong to say that queer people can't be Christian

Jaya by Devdutt Pattnaik is the absolute worst trite nonsense, and this page is the best example of it. Let's compare with the real thing, shall we?
According to Devdutt Pattanaik, Krishna's reactions to the dyut sabha incident were as follows:
1) Jaya- Krishna to angry bheema "all five of you lost. All five of you must keep your word and suffer exile quietly. To keep your word is dharma." He says "you are responsible for rejecting Karna which has caused this."
In actual text (referencing KMG) Krishna: Respectfully saluting that foremost of the Kurus, Kesava (Krishna) mournfully said, 'The earth shall drink the blood of Duryodhana and Karna, of Dussasana and the wicked Sakuni! Slaying these in battle and defeating their followers along with their royal allies, will we all install Yudhishthira the just on the throne! The wicked deserve to be slain! Verily, this is eternal morality.'
Devdutt Pattnaik's Krishna scolds the victims and tells them keeping their word is dharma. But Mahabharata's Sri Krishna, burns and seethes at the act of harmful injustice! He is full of righteous anger and calls it the eternal morality for the wicked to be slain! His compassion and pain at the suffering of the victims is so apparent, so empathetic.
And what's more, he condemns Karna to death (as he should) for his horrible actions, not victim-blaming draupadi for that incel misogynist's molestation.
2) Jaya - Krishna to Draupadi: "you are responsible for rejecting Karna. A great warrior, he would never have gambled you. You chose Arjuna instead and look at you now."
Hahah the implication that somehow karna of all people is better than Arjuna!!
Let's see what the Mahabharata Krishna says in this scene shall we?
And when on account of the wrongs of Pritha's sons, Janardana had thus got into a passion, and seemed bent upon consuming all created things, Arjuna exerted himself to pacify him. And beholding Kesava angry, Falguna began to recite the feats achieved in his former lives by that soul of all things, himself immeasurable, the eternal one, of infinite energy, the lord of Prajapati himself, the supreme ruler of the worlds, Vishnu of profound wisdom!'
Arjuna has to calm down Krishna, who is soo angry at the injustice and cruelty that happened to draupadi and the Pandavas, that he seemed bent upon consuming all created things!
Continuing this, Arjuna narrates all great feats of Vishnu to Krishna to calm him down. At the end of his speech, Krishna says this:
Having addressed Krishna thus, the illustrious Pandava (Arjuna), who was the soul of Krishna, became dumb, when Janardana (Krishna) (in reply addressed that son of Pritha) saying, 'Thou art mine and I am thine, while all that is mine is thine also! He that hateth thee hateth me as well, and he that followeth thee followeth me! O thou irrepressible one, thou art Nara and I am Narayana or Hari! We are the Rishis Nara and Narayana born in the world of men for a special purpose. O Partha, thou art from me and I am from thee! O bull of the Bharata race, no one can understand the difference that is between us!'
Well well well, would you look at that? Instead of mocking draupadi for choosing arjuna over Karna as devdutt pattnaik shows, Krishna instead affirms his love for Arjuna in no uncertain terms, and declares that anyone who is arjuna's enemy is his own enemy, that they belong to eachother.
3) Jaya's Krishna says to draupadi "god does not hate you" (which btw sounds distinctly non-hindu, when do hindu scriptures ever speak of God loving us? Love is beautiful, but our gods' primary role is to preserve dharma and the law of karma) while also mocking her when she's at her worst situation.
What does mahabharata krishna say instead?
And wiping her eyes and sighing frequently she said these words angrily and in a choked voice, 'Husbands, or sons, or friends, or brothers, or father, have I none! Nor have I thee, O thou slayer of Madhu, for ye all, beholding me treated so cruelly by inferior foes, sit still unmoved! My grief at Karna's ridicule is incapable of being assuaged! On these grounds I deserve to be ever protected by thee, O Kesava (Krishna), viz., our relationship, thy respect (for me), our friendship, and thy lordship (over me)
"Vaisampayana continued, 'In that assembly of heroes Vasudeva (Krishna) then spake unto the weeping Draupadi as follows, 'O fair lady, the wives of those with whom thou art angry, shall weep even like thee, beholding their husbands dead on the ground, weltering in blood and their bodies covered with the arrows of Vivatsu (Arjuna)! Weep not, lady, for I will exert to the utmost of my powers for the sons of Pandu! I promise thou shalt (once more) be the queen of kings! The heavens might fall, or the Himavat might split, the earth might be rent, or the waters of the ocean might dry up, but my words shall never be futile!' Hearing those words of Achyuta in reply, Draupadi looked obliquely at her third husband (Arjuna). And, O mighty king, Arjuna said unto Draupadi, 'O thou of beautiful coppery eyes, grieve not! O illustrious one, it shall be even as the slayer of Madhu (Krishna) hath said! It can never be otherwise, O beautiful one!'
Look at this, this lovely relationships! Draupadi seeking solace in Krishna, ranting to him about evil people like Karna. Krishna consoling Draupadi assuring her that she will rule again and everyone who hurt her will die by Arjuna's arrows (love how he brings Arjuna into it!) and through his own machinations. Draupadi then looks to Arjuna for confirmation and he reassures as well while attesting that nothing Krishna said can be wrong. What a beautiful moment of friendship and recovery after such an ordeal! By people who trust eachother so much!
This wouldn't go for Devdutt Pattnaik though, might have interfered with his karna fantasies....

Kuroshitsuji is not queer-coded. You are not as smart as you think you are. Your opinions about the series, are not factual. The manga has no canon queer ships at all.
I don't know why you're so obsessed with me or why you're trolling me this hard, this feels personal. But just in case. I am beginning to think people have completely forgotten what subtext is. Kuroshitsuji started out in 2006... Kuroshitsuji as a manga is attracting a queer audience, absolutely. I'm going to assume you don't know the difference between Queer-bait, Queer-coded, and Representation... and that's super unfortunate, for you. None of those, are the same thing. It's not scandalous to say that you don't need a ship, in order for a story to be queer-coded and meant to attract a queer audience. The Found Family trope? Queer-Coded. The Non-human/Monster interaction with humans trope? Queer-Coded. Going against Christian hegemony? Queer-coded. Crossdressing? Queer-coded. Gender nonconformity? Queer-coded. Shapeshifting? Queer-coded. Complete transformation of identity? Queer-coded. Even if Kuroshitsuji only had but ONE, of those tropes I mentioned (and I suspect I missed some, these are just the ones off the top of my head). It would still be Queer-coded, and Queer people will gather toward it. Yana knows this. But even if she didn't...? If this story and it's construction was all just one huuuge coincidence...? It doesn't make the story less queer-coded. All that aside. It doesn't actually matter if a creator of any media at all, intended to attract a queer audience or not, if they write with any of those tropes in mind-- queer people will still be drawn to it. A creator can declare their work wasn't intended to attract queer people, or for queer people to be drawn to it, and scream how much they don't like it... if they want to. It wont end well for them, though. They'll alienate a huge portion of their fanbase and also get made fun of, a lot. People will, undoubtedly, ask the question, 'If you didn't mean for queer people to read this, then why did you write about these themes that are queer-tropes and resonate so strongly with queer people?' And, the author usually responds in kind, by showing a steadily decline of quality of their work, and tries to write-in a lot of strange rules and stipulations after-the-fact to try to 'unqueer' their story as much as they can. Or else, they try to write something else and either way, what they write, ends up being a pile a of shit. Because surprise-surprise ... it's actually very difficult to write a good story without ANY queer tropes and queer themes. Look at what happened to the Wizard Author (that's exactly what happened, in case you were wondering). But apparently, I'm not very smart. So believe whatever you want.
#Reblogging for both additions#It is insane how some people view queer people and have some weird idea of what 'qualifies' as queer#Some people in this fandom had the nastiest takes on Grelle literally the most vile and transphobic things#As for Soma and Agni I am losing my mind I didn't know that#I've been taught very little about Hindu mythology but I absolutely adore what I've read and told so far about love#Tales of love between Hindu gods and goddesses are so incredibly beautiful#But I 100% did not know this#I knew Agni was the name of a god of fire but I did not know that about Soma and that these gods were married#Agni has an extremely precious transformation it's no wonder he felt so moved when Soma gave him that name... that context is everything...#I am so sad for them all over again this makes a lot more sense...#Agni was mistaken HE was the warmth and light ...without him Soma the moon is...#I need to lay down

THE TRUTH ABOUT ESCAPING TWIN FLAMES AND OTHER MLM NEW AGE BULLSHIT
"You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion."
L. Ron Hubbard (Founder of Scientology)
I won't lie to you. What got me into tarot was a very raw and real dream about a man I've never met in my life. I had this dream when I was 15 and it felt like I was floating in a parallel universe.
Dreams with this "stranger" kept coming and going and during a search I stumbled upon the concept of "twin flames".
As with anything NeW AgE it is nothing new. All New Age bullshit are concepts familiar to human civilizations for thousands of years. In all ancient cultures these concepts show up again and again.
Astrology, cartomancy and other forms of divination and guidance have been used by Mesopotamians, Egyptians, Greeks and Hindu people for centuries. They were villainized after the come up of Christianity.
I always have believed there is a higher power. Some name it Allah, others Moses, other Dias etc. Doesn't matter, it's one God above us. Actually contrary to what many want you to believe the Ancient Greeks didn't have "12 Gods" but 12 (and much much more) expressions of DIVINITY. Metaphors and symbolisms.
Hermes Trismegistus has written everything about "manifestation". Others just repackaged it. Some help us understand the concept and others just want to make a quick buck.
All people have some primal needs. Connection and love. Money and wealth. Wanting to be beautiful and powerful. Some people prey on that and, in my opinion, the self-improvement industry will only keep on growing.
The concept of twin flames can be found being expressed by Socrates in the dialogue "Symposium" by Plato :
“Now, since their natural form had been cut in two, each one longed for its own other half, and so they would throw their arms about each other, weaving themselves together, wanting to grow together...
This, then, is the source of our desire to love each other. Love is born into every human being: it calls back the halves of our original nature together; it tries to make one out of two and heal the wound of human nature.
Each of us, then, is a ‘matching half’ of a human whole, because each was sliced like a flatfish, two out of one, and each of us is always seeking the half that matches him."
Sidenote: Obviously I used only two snippets of the dialogue. Socrates' stance on homosexuality and other matters of love can be found in there and it is a good read. It will definitely show you that some concepts have been around since humans walked on this earth.
Moving on, I want to give you some tips on how to best use astrology and tarot/oracle cards as TOOLS to better yourself.
1. First try them yourself.
Don't let others dictate how you see astrology and tarot. Go online and search up your birth chart on astroseek or visit the Light Seer's Tarot/Muse Tarot website which has an incredible pick a card feature.
Don't contact an astrologer or tarot reader before familiarising yourself with the tools and "taking the magic out" of them.
2. No one and mean NO ONE can predict the future 100%.
In our lives there are moments who seem synchronized. They make you believe in fate. I do believe that God intended for us to live through some things but I also absolutely believe in FREE WILL. I always say that to clients especially those who have tarot readings.
Tarot and astrology can help you see the paths laid in front of you. They help you dive in your unconscious mind. Don't let anyone fool you that they are magical and whatever the cards say can not change.
3. If you purchase a reading don't purchase a love/romance one at first.
Don't get me wrong. I love love and romance. I love doing love readings. They are sweet and sexy.
BUT. Even in my love readings I incorporate a "general energy of you" for the person. I do that cause I want to show to my client, who trusted me and chose me that a tarot reader can be vetted.
Sadly even with PAC readings I can see that the romance ones are read and reposted way more than ones that assist with personal development. I try to keep a balance and do both.
The thing is a good tarot reader, astrologer even a therapist or a fitness trainer want to help you become INDEPENDENT. I don't want you to keep coming back and purchase love readings about your ex.
It's toxic. I won't accept that.
4. You are perfect the way you are.
Telling you that "yeah, you have an issue right here and it can be fixed by doing so and so" is okay.
Telling you that "YOU SHOULD LOVE YOURSELF. YOU DON'T LOVE YOURSELF THAT'S WHY YOU WON'T FIND LOVE UNTIL YOU DO THAT" is toxic. People control you this way.
It's like saying give me more money. Ask me how I can make you LOVABLE.
Your other half won't cheat, manipulate or make you feel awful. Your ex who was an asshole is not your Twin Flame.
Light up the flame within and love out your dreams. You will attract people who will adore and love you by being AUTHENTIC.
Anyone that abuses you and puts your flame out should GO.
5. All big corporations prey on your weaknesses & Do not trust anyone who tells you they are the only ones that can set you free or solve your issues.
Be disciplined. Control yourself and your mind. Read "The 48 Laws Of Power" and other books on influence and manipulation. Learn how narcissists and cult leaders operate.
All big companies do not sell you products (I will probably post this part by itself too).
They sell you emotions, feelings, status. BMW doesn't sell cars, it is selling power and prestige and confidence.
Nike doesn't sell shoes and shirts, it is selling dreams of being powerful and different, of making it in the jungle, of WINNING.
But there are some companies which I'M NOT GOING TO MENTION by name who influence you by breaking you down. Astrology apps that send you negative predictions about your day to make you anxious so you will check back every single hour. Cult like influencers who sell "How to get rich quickly" courses that cost thousands of $ and offer no value.
Be careful. Be prepared. Be strong and firm.
I hope everyone who was taken in this cult (wait ! myy username is the siren cult, lol) can find peace and the power within them.

⛈️ He has never really met any human fighters, as he mainly stood off the the side with the rest of his pantheon
⛈️ But when he heard the call of Belobog and Chernabog, he, and the rest of his pantheon, shrank into themselves
⛈️ The duo were known for being very brutal and ruthless, though Belobog was more calm and collected than Chernabog
⛈️ When he saw you stroll out, he looked at how you hugged a small child with pink hair before leaving her with Brunhilde to fight
⛈️ Rudra smiled as you walked up and held out your weapon to the twins
⛈️ And watching you kick their asses? Woo!
⛈️ Honestly, when he first saw you, you were really only a pretty face, but after this? You were way more; Strong, pretty, and even kind!
⛈️ Seeing how you held both of their hands as they were sent to Nifelheim made him smile lightly
⛈️ He must speak to you sometime soon

🔱 No. Absolutely not.
🔱 He knew the Gods were superior, and watching you just stare at the Slavic Gods with no real care made him glare at you
🔱 How dare you disrespect the Gods, they were superior to you!
🔱 Watching you fight made his eyes widen slightly, you were so flexible to the situations and could take so much more than he initially thought
🔱 And you were so pretty while doing it…
🔱 Wait no! Ignore that, he must be getting sick, life under the ocean and all
🔱 But he couldn’t deny it for so long
🔱 Once the battle ended and he saw a little girl run out to you and hug you with such care and love, it made him flush slightly
🔱 Strong, kind, amazing… perfection
🔱 Now he needed to find you, and convince you to join the Gods’ side, thankfully, he had a way with words…

🌊 He never really was paying attention to the battles, unless they got interesting, like in the second round when Poseidon died, or when Shiva fought
🌊 But when the words ‘Thorn Princess’ came out of Heimdall’s horn, he froze
🌊 Indra had heard about you from Nishumbha a few times, a well-trained assassin with no mercy to give those you were assigned
🌊 What he really didn’t expect was for you to come out, laying your daughter in the arms of Buddha’s while you strolled out to fight the Slavic Gods Belobog and Chernabog
🌊 You smirked as the Gods yelled at you for your incompetence, how could a puny human, nonetheless, a human woman, beat them
🌊 That sealed their fate
🌊 Indra watched as you sliced and diced the twins, and he couldn’t lie, he was quite impressed
🌊 After you healed, he would have to speak to you, it’s not everyday such powerful deities are killed by a human
🌊 But for now, he’d sit back and smoke his cigarette as Ragnarok continued

End-of year Director's Cut ask game!
Aaaand this question is about my fic your fangs in my neck (like an anchor like a vow). This is for @nuttersinc who asked:
your fangs in my neck: how did you come up with the premise? And I loved it, it was so hot and also so touching ❤️
Thank you so much for the question! I'm so happy you liked the fic. 🥰
The way it happened was, I had been thinking about writing a vampire fic for Dead Boy Detectives very early on.
But, fun fact, at the time I had immediately decided I wanted to subvert the trope of "prim posh repressed white boy = vampire, rebellious fun angry bisexual = werewolf", and I wanted it to be switched. (I might still write a fic about that, actually. Just have to find the right idea for a smidge of plot... but also @jube-art has a whole bunch of AU fanart with vamp!Charles and werewolf!Edwin here and here, so if you like the concept, RUN! 😜)
Anyway, despite my best efforts to subvert the trope, my brain was apparently feeling lazy, because it just LATCHED onto the idea of vampire!Edwin. The repression, the starvation, the fear of imposing on Charles with his feelings/needs... you know. Some of the messages I sent @lolotr at the time said, and I quote:
"oh god vampire Edwin is so tastyyyyy"
"and I know I talked a lot more about Charles being the vampire but goddamnnnn Edwin being the vampire works so well with the themes, fuck"
Also I just looked it up and I'm pretty sure I also saw this fanart by @kazalmilk around that time, and I think it kind of encouraged a vibe of "Edwin drinks from Charles and H A T E S that he has to" (that's what it did in my brain, at least).
Then I agonized over what Charles could be. He could be a ghost, but then the conflict would have been about Edwin drinking from someone else, and I ended up rejecting that option.
He could be a werewolf, but I was still kind of mad at myself that I was writing vampire!Edwin before vampire!Charles, and I didn't want to give in FULLY. 😜 Also, werewolves are mortal, and I didn't like the idea that 1) they hadn't spent 30 years together, because I didn't want to reduce their long history to only a few years and 2) I didn't want their future to not be forever.
I also toyed with the idea of making Charles an angel, like in this gorgeous fic by @shanastoryteller (I'm oversimplifying, just go read the fic, it's excellent). But then there was some other issue with the concept that made me lean away from that as well. I think it was something about how I didn't want to separate them that much? Like I didn't want Charles to be Heaven-related with Edwin being a vampire, because then their whole history would have been changed.
I was still just playing with the whole thing, writing bits and pieces, absolutely not convinced it would ever be finished or that I even had a solid story to tell (well, beyond that thigh-biting scene 😁).
But THEN I wrote the pub scene. And completely without thinking about it, I wrote Charles turning around to snarl at that guy who was flirting with Edwin, and suddenly there was fire in his eyes and he had a sword and a CROWN?!
And I went, okay, that feels right. Of course Charles deserves a crown. What kind of entity could have a crown? And with a bit of research I found out about Devas from Hindu mythology. That gave the crown a shape, because suddenly it was a mukut, and it gave body to Charles' supernatural nature.
The more I read about it, the more right it felt, and from that point on I knew I had the fic. 😊
Thank you so much for your question @nuttersinc, I really appreciate it! I hope you liked my little rambly answer. Happy New Year! ❤️💕💖

。𖦹°‧ Some of my thoughts/headcannon's for the main 6 。𖦹°‧⭑.
NOTE!!!! : THESE ARE SUPER OUTDATED!!! THIS HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRAFTS FOR MONTHS AND I JUST WANTED TO CLEAR IT OUT. SO... there are some of these that are kinda old, I don't necessarily think are that relevant anymore or I've already talked about them on here at some point in time. SO I'M SO SORRY.
I really wanted to start a new list but I also felt guilty about this list just sitting here but I also didn't want to fully fix this list cause it would take a while so that's why I'm posting.
GETTING TO THE POINT, these are probably mid and you've heard them before so this won't be as good as other headcannon posts I've done. I promise I'll do better in the future
With that being said, let's get into it!
(I probably sounded like Barncales in this image typing allat and y'all probs looking at me like shellington)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Dashi
OMG, SHE'S MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE. AHHHHH
Girlie in STEM. I don't feel like she gets the appreciation she deserves for this. Like my girl is out here building whole ass ROBOTS and people are just like yeah whatever.
I think she would've definitely had a hippie phase. She looks like the type to collect crystals. My girl could live out of a van
ALSO, she's definitely got good fitness. She's one of the more athletic of the crew members. - My girl likes her sports what can I say
She has scrapbooks for everyone on the ship. She has personal photo albums with silly selfies (and photos she's taken when they weren't looking)
She would love Sanrio and she would have a few Sanrio-themed clips (she's my melody coded to me)
I also reckon she would've weaselled it into the other crewmates. (I feel like shellington would absolutely love it)
Indian/Australian
If she was religious - Hindu
LOVES detective movies - (Her, shellington and kwazii bond over this) (Sherlock BBC?)
Over analyses everything
Let Tweak dye her hair sometimes (she would do pink skunk hair/pink highlighting)
She used to have long hair. Everyone else on board had shorter hair and eventually, she felt bad so she cut her hair shorter. It's better this way though, it's a lot less maintenance
She's up to date on anything that's trending and probably influences the other with it. (regularly uses words like demure and tweak lowkey wants to dropkick her)
Paints her nails (sometimes the other too)
SURFING PRO - she got into it when she was really young (her love of surfing definitely sparked her love of the sea)
She IS the Lofi girl - she has GOD tier music taste
Coding god helps tweak with programming the gups/ship
When she was younger, she use to troll people online and find their IP, full name, address etc. when they pissed her off (it really refined her skills)
Makes handmade bracelets (kwasi likes to join in he does a really good job )
I forced them to make a group chat so they would just be silly.
Is a legend at national seaographic (outstanding photos)
SHE WILL DO ANYTHING to get her photos, which often puts her a risk (she and kwazii are twinning) sometimes she does outdo him on the reckless scale the ray and the whale episode
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Kwazii
THE SILLY
Ok Just one thing I wanna point out, I feel like a lot of people think of him as some goofy ahh little kid. YES, he is not "as serious" as other crew members but just a reminder he is the LEUITENT. Just because his leadership style isn't oh ho ho ho, I'm macho serious doesn't mean he doesn't know how to take care of his crew or that he is a child. GROWN MEN CAN BE SILLY TOO.
I'm sorry that's just a sore spot
He lowkey reminds me of Jack Twist (I'm so sorry)
He's the second biggest yapper (only losing to shellington) he can keep everyone engaged for hours with his stories
Has a really fast reaction time
Carbeian
My boy would have a NICE tan
I reckon he could speak Spanish
Loves learning new languages with Shelligton so he can decode his ancient stories and mysteries
A very talented artist - he's really good at arts and crafts and loves hanging out with Dashi as an excuse to do it
Despite his typically "impatient" demeanour, he can lock in and do things with intricate detail (ADHD is out to get him)
Loves map-making places they've visited in his free time. (Potential for him and Min to bond?)
Loves singing sea shanties
Would sing in the shower
pretty boy
Look I know he doesn't show it but I reckon he worries about the crew just as much if not more than Barnacles
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Shellington
THE EEPY LITTLE GUY
I love my little brainiac
He reminds me of Ford Pines. I can see him in the get-up (like imagine him in the fit OOO it would look FIRE)
The biggest info dumper. He is the biggest yapper, he loves telling everyone about everything ever.
As a child, he would try to talk to anyone about his interests. I can imagine him calling people on the phone or talking to fishy's. His family would've eventually gone insane, lol.
When he's not bonkers, he's one of the more chill crew members to be around.
His sleep schedule is AWFUL, our little insomniac needs some sleep
Crewmates would come and chill with him in his lab when they couldn't sleep (they might be feeling homesick or just rattled from the week's events) because he's usually up until the wee hours. They often just sit in silence but he's happy just be a comforting presence
FATHER - he is always looking out for the others in his own little way, he has a very caring demeanour and is sometimes the more approachable one (cause he's not AS intense (EXCEPT for when he's in the zone THEN HE's INTENSE)
He LOVES to study with the others. He's erm... PRETTY STUDIOUS and he studies with all the crewmates when they're in the mood
He studies new languages with Kwasi (especially old and forgotten ones) and they will spend HOURS unpacking mysteries
My guy needs to hit the gym - he's kind of unfit (well compared to the others anyway)
THIS GUY IS BANNED FROM THE KITCHEN ( seems like the type of guy to burn a salad)
Very tall, he is the second tallest after Barnacles
Scottish AND PROUD
He also needs glasses
He is VERY accident-prone. He's spilt quote a few chemicals and given himself a few nasty burns( probs has scars from all of them). He's one of Peso's regulars. wrap him in bubble wrap istg
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Peso
OML THIS GUY'S GONNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK
He was SO anxious when he first started. Like he was in charge of taking care of the two most reckless lack of self-preservation guys ever. Every time they would go out on missions he would just be on edge (like omg are these two coming back ALIVE)
Because of this, I reckon he would get mad at those two (easily after bad scares (LIKE THE MANTEES EP). Like it would make him so upset he'd have outbursts - " CAN YOU PLEASE STOP BEING SO FUCKING RECKLESS ALL THE TIME. I CAN'T BRING YOU BACK FROM THE DEAD" - or something along those lines. (They would feel super bad and promise him that they would be more careful (lies))
Spanish (and can speak)
Grew up a really big family, so he finds a lot of comfort in his octo family
Even though he still gets homesick
He facetime his family every week
HE'S NOT JUST SOME TWINK- LIKE AGAIN JUST BECAUSE SOME GUY ISN'T MACHO MACHO DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE A TWINKY LOSER RAHH
On that note - he's definitely had to improve his fitness to keep up with Kwasi and Barnacles
Sometimes he's cleaning up medbay and he thinks to himself "OMFG, I have the most accident-prone reckless crewmates ever. Honestly, man, I don't know if I can do this" - (when his whole crew got wiped from the snail episode, I know he kept his cool but like when he was alone that night he definitely just pulled a
"Guys, that was not very LIVE, laugh love of you"
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
TWEAK
MY GIRL BOSS, MY QUEEN MY IDOL
She definitely has HUGE muscles from all the lifting she does
Naturally has blonde hair (I know a lot of people hc her with brown hair but I've just always personally thought blonde). She constantly dyes it - (Part of me thinks she was bullied for her blonde hair (dumb blonde type of comments) and ever since she hates it. Her natural hair is a sore subject. It used to make her insecure especially because of her field. Although she didn't let it show, the comments about her hair being "too girlie" made her despise it)
Dashi definitely helped her improve her perception of this. Being the kickass she is but also enjoying being feminine helped her get over her insecurity. (She's a little more ok with letting her roots show)
MY QUEEN IN STEM. She graduated with honours. (LIKE MY GIRL IS BUILDING ALL OF THAT, I BEEN SO PROUD OF HER)
She loves watching Matpat (sometimes watches with Shellington)
She loves playing video games
Has God tier Minecraft worlds (she could sell her build designs)
Red stone GOD
Loves wearing bandanas and headbands
She loves her crew so much, (she's worked in hostile work environments before) she loves having free rein and the support
Although she sometimes worries about what would happen to the POD without her (Barnacles knows some of the basics but...)
Camera shy (canon?) (from the volcano one?)
MY GIRL DOESN'T GIVE A FUCK.
She has very little patience and can be very blunt
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Barnacles
OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN
Definitely of Slavic descent. Russian/Ukrainian (can speak) (like I know he's British or whatever but like.... c'mon)
Uber is tall like 6ft+
He's a big guy but super fit. Bro's muscles go insane
Gives the best bear hugs (obviously)
He needs a hug oml
Like zero sense of self-preservation
Would sacrifice himself to save the world ah complex
He reminds me of Raph Rottmnt (2018)
He gets VERY homesick
LET HIM BE REAL PLEASE
I feel like he would be a psychology student if he was going to study anything. LIKE this man CARES about you. (also I reckon he would be like super in psychology he's got some stuff to unpack himself
I know he has his fear of small spaces but also I reckon he has this super duper tiny fear of being alone. He likes being around people but being alone just makes him a little uncomfortable. (when he gets uncomfortable he'll start talking to himself) but generally, he's motivated to get back to his crew that he can preserve and hide it pretty well
I feel like this guy would have his mobile phone super enlarged (like you know when you see middle-aged women and their phones are just like SUPER zoomed in) because he can't see for shit
Needs glasses (doesn't wear them) he should
Sometimes, I reckon he has his moments when he just
Like sometimes he just experiences the horrors
Sometimes he quotes his favourite movies (but they're all super old ) that he thinks are "inspirational" (life is like a box of chocolates ahhh) and the crew is just like huh?
Is an avid enjoyer and user of the minion Facebook memes
*stupid* he can roll a pretty good blunt (stoner Barnacles reference) (he would get stoned which Kwazii)
——————————————————————————-------------------
So that's it. I hope they weren't too horrendous!
I'm working on a more refined list filled with better headcannons so I hope that will redeem this outdated list!

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I gotta start somewhere. I've been learning a lot about indigenous history and activism as I work on deconstruction, and a sentiment I come across a lot is bitterness towards Christianity. I cannot emphasize enough how much I fully understand. The rough bit is that sometimes when I read their work, I get the implication that there's nothing worth saving in the Church/Christianity- that to hold on to it is to hold on to all the colonialism and white supremacy and yuck.
As a disabled trans Christian, I get that, but it still hurts. I love God and am a Christian despite everything. I want to be an ally to indigenous people, but I want to follow God this way too. I know those aren't mutually exclusive, but it feels that way sometimes. Do you have any insight for me to find peace in this regard?
Thank you.
Hey there, thanks for the question, sorry for the delay!
This is something I've also wrestled with — a question I ask myself over and over, and probably always will. I cannot offer you peace, because as Jeremiah 6:14 says, "There is no peace!" — not while our faith continues to be wielded as a weapon against so many peoples. What I can offer you are some of the thoughts that have allowed me to continue to be Christian with hope that this faith can be better than what it's long been misused for, and the resolve to do my part to make it so.
First, that Christianity isn't unique in being co-opted by colonialist powers.
Any belief system can be twisted for violence, and many have been. If Christianity didn't exist, white supremacy still would — colonialist powers would have found a different belief system to twist into justifying their evils.
That absolutely does not absolve us from reckoning with the evils that have been done in Christianity's name! This isn't about shutting down critiques of Christianity with "uh well it could have been any religion" — as things played out, Christianity is the religion responsible for so much harm, and we need to acknowledge that and listen to groups who tell us how we can make some form of reparations.
But for me at least, there is some comfort in understanding that Christianity isn't, like, inherently evil or something. Recognizing that it isn't unique even in its flaws helps me look at the problem with clearer eyes, rather than wallowing in guilt and shame, if that makes sense.
Next, that there are Indigenous Christians, and Black Christians, and other Christians of color — that oppressed peoples have found things worth cultivating within Christianity! If they can find something worthwhile in this faith, it would be arrogance for me to deny it.
For instance, even when white slaveholders edited Bibles to remove too much discussion of liberation, even when white preachers emphasized verses about slaves being obedient to their masters, many enslaved people recognized how Christian faith actually affirms their equality and the holiness of their desire for liberation.
Black Theologian Howard Thurman opens his 1949 book Jesus and the Disinherited with a question asked to him by a Hindu man who knew the harms white Christianity had done to both their peoples: “How can you, a black man, be Christian?” The long and short of Thurman’s answer is that, in spite of the pain and exploitation too often inflicted by Christians in positions of power, the oppressed have always been able to see past that misuse of the Christian message to the true message lived out by Jesus Christ: a message of liberation for all.
For more thoughts on why and how to keep being Christian in spite, in spite, in spite...I invite you to look through my #why we stay tag.
___
How I wish that Christianity had never gotten tangled up in Empire! but it did, and it still is, and because for good or ill I cannot help that my spirit is stubbornly drawn towards the Triune understanding of the Divine, the best I can do is to use my privilege and what small influence I have within Christian institutions to move us towards decolonization. What some of that's looked like on the level of my personal beliefs:
I am firmly against any form of proselytizing. I don't support evangelism financially, I speak out against it, I don't platform it. (If someone wants to hear about my faith, they'll come to me — I don't run after them. And if someone does want to have that conversation, I aim to make it a dialogue, where we are learning from each other.)
I continuously work to recognize and uproot Christian supremacy within myself — the beliefs I didn't even realize where there until I started digging. That has included challenging any inkling within myself that Christianity is the "best" or "most right" religion. (One book that's helped a lot with that is Holy Envy by Barbara Brown Taylor.)
I seek wisdom from and relationship with Christians of color. Their insights are vital to our faith, and I try to use what small influence I have to uplift them.
On that last note, here are some resources I recommend as you continue to explore these questions:
This First Nations Version of the Christian Bible is gorgeously written, and a great way to explore scripture through a Native lens.
Native by Kaitlin B. Curtice is a lovely poetic memoir that explores how one person has sought to hold both her Christian faith and Potawatomi identity within herself. (She also has a new book out that I haven't read yet but really want to!)
God is Red: A Native View of Religion by Vine Deloria Jr.
Rescuing the Gospel from the Cowboys by Richard Twiss
I haven't read any of these 4 books but they look good too
This video with advice to non-Indigenous Christians
If anyone has any resources to add, please do!

‼️ Supernatural season 5 spoilers ‼️
Hey what the fuck is up with Supernatural's portrayal of other world religions and pagan gods. because I'm not a fan? It's honestly just disrespectful and so ridiculously not researched. Full disclaimer that I'm coming at this from a Hindu standpoint.
In 5x19 "Hammer of the Gods" there's a convention of a bunch of other gods in the world, and I can't speak for all of them but Kali and Ganesha are so awfully portrayed and what is up with them all being cannibals lmao. The Hindu gods are canonically vegetarian and Kali Ma is the destroyer of bad, evil things and protects people (especially women) who can't stand up for themselves. Kali Ma is an avatar of Parvati, the Queen Mother, and she's absolutely badass and takes no one's bullshit. She's angry and vengeful but she only dishes it out to people who deserve it, and definitely not innocents caught in the crossfire. She's a goddess. She knows right from wrong. Even Shiva, known as "The Destroyer," is the destroyer of evil things, but Western media just depicts him as an evil god. Ganesha is the most peaceful god that we all pray to as the Remover of Obstacles and he's just a sweet kid whose head got cut off and replaced with an elephant head and he eats sweets and plays harmless little pranks on all the other gods. And the fact that he's a full fucking elephant in this episode is ridiculous like...do your fucking research? The blood spell stuff is ridiculous too like, if Kali Ma wanted you dead you'd be dead.
This is just infuriating and it's a theme that's come up a lot before in Supernatural. Dean is always like "oh I'm gonna gank you bloodthirsty motherfuckers" as if they're not gods? I know the show is years old but it's annoying and misinformed. The fact that they include pagan gods and gods of other world religions (Hindu mythology, Norse mythology, etc) is so cool and there is genuinely so much potential for it. In the episode at one point Kali Ma said that there are billions of people who aren't Christian and that other religions and other gods have existed for thousands of years before Christianity, and that if there's anyone who gets to destroy the world it would be them and she's so right for that? There was so much potential for exploring what the Apocalypse means for people who don't believe in Christianity and having a whole convention of powerful gods of other cultures could've genuinely been an arsenal against Lucifer if they'd bothered to do their research. Instead they're all "primitive" and "chimps" (Dean's words) and eat people.
Honestly, the angels are just as awful and they have even less regard for human life so if Sam and Dean want to kill a bunch of bloodthirsty murderers it should be them.
I love Supernatural and it has it's silly goofy moments of awful writing but this is just one thing that pisses me off to no end.

I think I need to make it clear for many Vaishnav (looking especially at you, ISKON) Hindu extremists (and even many Shaivites) that ya'll can have your sects and your beliefs as Vishnu or Shiva as your supreme lords. I don't have an issue with that.
But when you try to say that this is the ONLY truth about the Vedic religion (I'm not using Hinduism here because it doesn't sum up the pantheon as much as the ''Vedic" word does, despite the term being associated with the Vedas, and yes we need to come up with a better word that comprises this entire pantheon as a whole), that's when I have a problem, because that is definitely NOT the entire pantheon.
Do not spread the beliefs of your sect as the ONLY canon belief and don't speak for the people who don't fall under this category. I have seen this in all of social media and it pains me how much of a linear pantheon this once oh-so flexible culture has become.
Yes the concept of Prajapati and the Supreme being has existed since the Vedas. But when you say that Vishnu and Shiva are somehow superior to other gods as the ONLY CANONICAL BELIEF, that just flips me off, and I'm gonna call it out.
How dare you forget the four Vedas, that had no mention of such an idea? This might tick some people off but Indra, Agni, Rudra (which later became synonymous with Shiva, but is a whole different deity), Mitra, Varuna, Vayu and a few other Gods were just as much powerful as Vishnu or Shiva, if not more. This is ANOTHER canonical truth that these extremists (again, somehow mostly Vaishnav) are denying.
Ancient pantheons weren't some linear path with just one canon event. These were their own multiverses of a plethora of VARIOUS canon events, myths and legends. So stop making the Vedic religion a linear, rigid pantheon. Remember? It's not an organized religion. There can be SEVERAL canonical truths. Like I definitely understand that a religion/culture changes overtime. It evolves. Fine. Vishnu is the supreme God now, fine. But you can't deny the history. The Vedas that didn't canonize this. Are you gonna say that these Vedas, that came BEFORE this Vishnu/Shiva being the considered the supreme lord(s), were wrong? I hope not lol.
Besides, I'm not even gonna get into ISKON. They have regarded anyone that's not Vishnu as a demigod, which is ABSOLUTELY VILE AND DISRESPECTFUL. Do they even KNOW what a demigod is??? FUCK NO. They don't. They just like to use that word to inferiorize other deities, due to their unhealthy and toxic obsession with Vishnu, who doesn't deserve it. On top of that they have claimed that worshipping such gods will not lead you to eternal peace, or that it's somehow wrong. Ah yes. Gotta love gatekeeping and toxic cult fan behavior. Call me rude but if you disrespect a GOD (yes, Indra, Mitra, Varuna and others are ALSO GODS, FYI) is WILD, and they should be called out for it. (Some Shaivites have done the same in case of Shiva, and they need to be similarly called out.)
In conclusion, worship whoever tf you want, but remember that theologically, and even historically, there can be more than one canonical story. It really depends on which sect/region you belong to. You CAN be a polytheist. Idk why Hindus these days are inadvertently trying to appeal to the monotheistic pantheons so much, to the point that they have an internal dislike for polytheism, which they're not aware of, but it shows when they speak up.
This pantheon (like every other pagan pantheon back in the day) is very broad. Remember that. And it's very flexible. So let it be like that, and stop gatekeeping it and having a war between who supreme Lord is. I'll stop my yapping here. But I hope people understand this. Cuz damn.

Imo there is not enough Valyria content out there so I would LOVE to see your thoughts/headcanons on what the geography, city, fashion, etc. looked like
okay this ones a little difficult because even though Valyria is clearly inspired by Rome, I don't like roman (aka greek) architecture for them it just doesn't really fit to me. Honestly its hard to assign any real life inspo because the existence of dragons would have had some major impact on the society as a whole, architecture included
However, if I had to pick a type to ascribe to Old Valyria, my first choice would be a twist on Hindu architecture. I am absolutely obsessed with the sheer amount of details on the buildings (especially the Meenaskshi Temple at the bottom, everyone please go look at more pictures of it it's gorgeous). It's incredibly complex but also tends to be very symmetrical, the styles perfected over hundreds and hundreds of years. I also really love the idea of the spaces being open and well lit, it fits well.
Another alternative is traditional Chinese architecture, with the added bonus of dragon motifs that are already there :D Another type of architecture with an intense focus on details, symmetry, and how the design of a space affects a person. Architecture is a reflection of where a society is in their development, and I find that this could be a good inspiration for Valyria, an advanced culture with the excess time and resources to build things like these.
Woof okay clothing is all over the place I need to brainstorm and tighten my focus on different inspos (also I wish I could draw well so I can blend these styles properly but alas...anyways we ball). The main thing is mediterranean cultures I know that much. The Iberian Peninsula, Rome, Greece, the Minoans, Malta, Cyprus, etc etc all the ancient clothing and traditional costumes from around the Mediterranean Sea. Valyria was in a warmer, damper climate, meaning lots of loose fabric that could let air through but wouldn't weigh you down. Also doubling as shields from the sun. You get the gist I use this type of clothing all the time.
Okay Random Cultural Things Time
Art and literature? honestly really important because while yes this was a conquering civilization, they needed their exploits to live on in wall frescoes and written epics and dramatic pantomimes. I think they were literate, and probably spread written Valyrian to all the colonies, so that they were easily assimilated. People particularly fond of their dragons had pictures of them made and statues sculpted so that they would live on after their death.
Sports and entertainment also pretty big as well. Valyrians were a highly competitive people To Me so I think that riding, swimming, wrestling, racing, and other games were popular with the people, even those in the higher classes. Also fuck it I bet they raced their dragons. A really tall amphitheater where rich men lost money as they watched dragons circle around the ring. Or fight in midair, if the dragon riders were prisoners or sentenced to death.
As for religion, the Valyrians worshipped the gods that gave them dragons, but also tolerated the other faiths of the places the conquered, just in order to ease tensions (and because they had no dragons so why would they worship dragon gods). I like the idea of Roman household gods, with small altars in every home. Statues of the gods of the home, along with any gods a particular family might favor, along with ancestor veneration and dragon veneration. Dragon skulls and dragon masks on the walls baby!
#woah this was really long#spent my entire women and gender studies class doing this sorry Judith butler#asoiaf worldbuilding

Hello,I love your posts and I decided to ask, What do you think about the placements appearance wise, venus in 8th house, venus trine libra ascendant, Pluto square ascendant, sun square ascendant, moon in 1st , and mars in 8th?
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Hi @imhotasfworld 💛
Here's what I personally think about the aforementioned placement appearance wise. o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ
Also, I turned it into an Astro observations bundle for the pretty people out there.
Pictures don't belong to me, and are from Pinterest.
🪶 Venus in 8th house
🤍 I know a lot of people with this placement, and they are IT. The way they flirt and the way you get mesmerized by them is like going down the rabbit hole.
🤍 It is liberating because you can be vulnerable, like truly vulnerable with these folks.
🤍 No matter what their appearance might be, they are gonna give butterflies in your stomach. They are deemed to be very attractive.
🤍 They may have contrasting features (or may look good in them if they wanna experiment) (for eg., dark hair with pale skin or light hair with dark skin).
🤍 One more thing which I'd like to point out about this placement appearance-wise is that they have balanced body proportions, no matter what the body type may be the ratio is really attractive and harmonious.
🤍 This may be because Mars traditionally is associated with the 8th house, and Venus is positioned over there causing balance with both energies.
Also honorable mentions-
🩷 Venus in 1st house
🩷 Mars-Venus conjunction
🩷 Mars in 2nd/7th house
🩷 Libra Mars
🩷 Taurus Mars
🩷 Scorpio Venus
🩷 and Aries Venus
🤍 The aforementioned placement isn't considered the "best" character-wise as they are in the opposite energy than what the celestial bodies may be familiar with is what causes them to be attractive. Well, they said it right when they said "opposites attract". They look attractive no matter what, chubby, petite, any way...
🪶 Venus trine Libra ascendant
🩵 If those Pinterest aesthetic-looking ppl were one specific placement, I would say it would be this one.
Like the ones who'll look hot even with a slimy face mask on and click an absolutely flawless picture while in their PJs and somehow make it look aesthetic
🩵 Everything is in harmony, one thing I've noticed about them is that they tend to be really photogenic (bonus if you have Leo placements with this as it makes you seem even bolder, confident, and radiant while clicking photos).
🩵 Anyways, these are the people who are conventionally attractive. trine literally represents "favor" between placements in the chart, so venus trine Libra ascendant favors the native's appearance with Venusian qualities (i.e symmetrical face, may have high cheekbones?, pouty small full lips, soft skin (can also indicate having sensitive skin)).
🩵 What I have noticed with Libra placements in general as well is that they have a vibe and beauty which reminds me of fragrant flowers for some reason, they may also smell good.
🩵 Also, there's this vibe that I can't put in words but is very prominent with people of Libra placements. They remind me of the beauty of the Apsaras.
They are the celestial and godly nymphs or fairies in the Hindu and Buddhist mythology who are known to be pleasant, attractive, fascinating, hypnotic and mesmerizing power of the nature, they are the performers of the heavens they dance and sing really well and like to please the gods which really remind me of Libras , Tauruses and also Pisces. They also symbolise material indulgence and illusions caused by being materialistic which seems so venusian and neptunian to me.
🪶 Puto Square Ascendant
🤍 Pluto square ascendant may have quite an intimidating seductive look about them. Like they may have an "angry face" kind of features (straight or arched eyebrows which go really well with their deep eyes) which looks kind of-...kind of??? A HELL LOT OF hot ngl. May have a resting angry face without even them being angry whatsoever.
Sexy people.
🪶 Sun Square Ascendant
🩵 Well, I'm acquainted with people who have this placement and the first thing I notice about them is they are not what they show about themselves.
Having a conversation with them is as if trying to look deep within what's in the water but what you only see is the reflection of yourself and your surroundings, is how I like to describe them.
🩵 They adapt to people and situations just to get the work done. Very agreeable people though, yet so mysterious.
🩵 They look neat and well put together, and they come off to be really confident (but God knows what they may be going through from the inside).
🩵 They are also misunderstood a lot of times and may come off as too rude or too nice unintentionally from time to time.
🪶 Moon in 1st house
🤍 There's a pearly golden/white glow in the skin and the vibe in general. Your appearance may depend on how you feel a lot.
🤍 The type of people who prefer to "feeling pretty" more than "looking pretty" . They sort of give a "good witch" vibe to me. Alluring and nurturing.
🤍 People feel comfortable around these natives as they are very emotionally transparent and authentic.
🤍 No matter how nasty y'all may be XD (although that's rarely the case) you still have an innocent-looking appearance. May have chubby and rosy cheeks.
🤍 Also, known as "resting sad melancholic face."
(I have this placement myself as in I have it conjunct ascendant and not in the 1st house but still the effect is similar and the amount of times people have asked me if I'm feeling okay is concerning y'all, being it conjunct Pluto doesn't help at all. And one thing which may be a coincidence but significant enough to mention is that people who ask me if I'm ok are typically Libras and Sagittariuses! and I have both of them as my sun and moon respectively.
🪶 Mars in 8th house
🩵 Magnetic, alluring, deep, may have a beauty similar to a black swan . They have mesmerizing and tempting aura.
🩵 It's just in their aura and vibration that you may feel when they are with you, making a shift/transformation (8th house) in your and others' energy (Mars) when they're around. Truly a hypnotic type of attraction.
🩵 They are attractive and they might as well know it damn well, due to the impact they have on people.
🩵 They are the people who transform pain into something else by doing something physical (like working out like crazy after break up to release the angst and sadness or playing some kind of sports to distract themselves), they transform when in anger, it motivates them to achieve their goals which I find to be really attractive about them (if done healthily, ofcourse 💚)
not me indirectly flirting with y'all today 🤭❤️
