Dick: the man I’ve thought of as a mentor-father is keeping me chained next to him while simultaneously pushing me away. He is my prison warden and my savior. He treats me like a child, but expects me to be a man. Despite struggling for more independence, I still desperately want his approval. The pressure he put on me as a child meant I grew up too fast. Now, I far outpace my peers and am isolated from them. Despite their company, I feel lonely. At the end of the day, I only have Bruce and his morals. If I’m not perfect at all costs, everything as I know it will fall apart. The responsibility of leading a team is too great for me to handle, not because it is hard, but because it’s puts me at odds with Batman. I don’t know who I am without him. All of this is leading me to the brink of a mental breakdown that will quite literally alter the DC timeline as we know it. Bruce is breaking my heart and, in turn, I’ll be forced to break his.

The Penguin going into detail about the Maroni/Falcone family feud makes me FERAL.

It just makes me think about. Young Oz. He’s hungry, scrappy, and slick, and if Gotham wants a piece of him, it’ll have to come get him herself. He doesn’t chase.

Makes me think about Sal and Falcone fighting at any moment’s notice. Not a day goes by where the notorious families don’t try to kill eachother in bright daylight.

They made a big fucking mistake fighting on Wayne’s street, thought.

Imagine Thomas, only in sweatpants cause it’s 8 in the goddam fucking morning, angrily stomping out of his house, holding a sleeping baby Bruce with one hand and a gun in the other.

“Hey! You Drop pushin’ cocksuckers wanna murder eachother, do it off my fucking lawn!” There’s a collective gulp within them. Falcone tries saying something and gets shot in the knee.

“Anyone else have a speech prepared?”

The silence is very clear.

“Oz!” Oz jumping. He’s been sitting at Sal’s side just for this, — if Falcone asks, he’ll just say ‘I wanted to make sure he doesn’t get ya, boss’ as always. “Get inside, come on.”

At the end of the day: Oz plays for the biggest dog. Even if that’s his annoying childhood best friend.

So he grumbles, hurries off on a bad leg, — Thomas offered him better braces and like hell he’ll accept. The doors get locked. “…Thanks—“

Thomas whips around, a sharp, vicious motion. Pain cuts from the tip of his ear to the bow of his lips, flesh cut by the hard barrel of the gun. Hurts less than his ego.

“You’re going to get yourself fucking killed. “

“Not your fucking problem, fyi.”

“FYI? As long as you’re alive, you’re MY fucking problem, fyi.” He tosses the gun in Oz’s lap, along with a still sleepy baby Bruce, who touches on the fresh wound on his face gently.

And Thomas walks away like it’s so casual. “Cmon, I’m making cannolis. “

#Fourfold Soul #<- That's the title of the project I've been working on!#I am very excited to finally show off the cowboy (gender redacted) I've been cooking in a slow boil!!! Yeehaw!#Yes this is the game project. YES I am commited to the bit of having the main character go through a long running pronoun-quest.#This character does not have a name so I cannot formally tag them...#(Okay. Technically they have an internal name for coding/scripting reasons...and I have a nickname for them.#But the important part of making a video game character you get to eventually name is that the name must come from *you*!)#The girl here is a npc so she has a temporary name. So I also cannot tag her. Hmm...#I have several FFS comics thumbnailed out. This one got made first because it's the funniest without context. Lore wise it's weak.#I would love to post the sexy clown but you have to wait just a few more comics.#Fun artist woes moment to share: This is the first time I've had to colour these characters traditionally. *That* was NOT fun.#Going from a specific digital colour palette to being at the whims of my limited colour choices in markers? Hell! On! Earth!#I might also be extra frustrated because this sure is 3x the length of what I usually do for comics! I spent a Whole Day on this.#Past me thought it was soooo funny and needed all the extra panels for pacing. I hate past me. That guy needs to be exploded.
