All three Lightwood siblings had then proceeded to have an argument about who had the best spouse. The whole night had been drunken chaos. Magnus, Clary and Simon had let them have it since the Lightwood siblings had a tendency to carry the world on their shoulders even when nobody asked them. They rarely ever let loose ever since their worlds had plunged into sickness and demon attacks. Especially Alec. So, Magnus had let his husband be that 18-year-old boy again. The boy who got drunk and fought with his siblings and sang songs about Magnus’ pretty eyes.

i watched the ep twice bc i didnt take notes the first time BUT. hsmtmts 2.04 thoughts under the cut

gina first. my favorite part of the episode was when she admitted that she feels out of place living in someone else’s house and that she wanted a bigger part in the play. i was SO worried they were gonna just let her happily sideline herself in a “yay she learned her lesson about not being the center of attention” kind of way bc i would not be able to handle that two seasons in a row. let her be angry!!! she has a lot to be upset about

the gina/carlos conflict was awful bc theyre making carlos unreasonably annoying this season. last season he was nice, he was enthusiastic, not competitive and just rooting for other people. idk why they needed to flip him so drastically to being spoiled, rich, selfish, pushy, and bitchy. and on top of that i have not been vibing with the pieces of dialogue theyve been giving him this season just to score woke points. its so unbearably obvious that even though hes a brown gay character, he was written by a white gay person who thought, on some level, that he was giving the gen z kids the #hashtag representation they wanted. his delivery of every line that screams “remember, im mexican” is so awkward, it doesnt land well, and im begging them to stop. they want so badly to commodify his character and parade him around as a “look how diverse our show is!” thing and im so so sick of it bc you can tell, with all the surface-level pieces of dialogue, that they dont actually care at all

im honestly starting to slowly ship rina less and less. in season one i loved seeing someone make gina happy, especially since she had no friends before opening up to ricky. but now its just a whole mess and i wish she would love herself a lil more to realize that its not worth all this stress. he made a choice and no amount of conflicted moments of eye contact is going to fully take that back. im not necessarily against love triangle plots, but i HATE the whole “women wait around hopefully while male character, whose decisions have already hurt multiple people, makes up his mind” bullshit

that being said, gina handled the situation like a CHAMP, im dying over how quickly she was able to mask her pain and make the joke about the twix bar. im love her

we were absolutely ROBBED of an ej/big red performance this episode!!! i am at my LIMIT we better get gaston next week or i will riot

on the ej train, him not getting into duke was extremely predictable. we all kinda saw that coming and knew that would be his main point of growth this season. im glad they didnt wait super long to do it. now please @ writers i am BEGGING you to give my man more screen time than one scene per episode

its very odd that they keep making mr mazzara have emotionally tough conversations with the students. i will do a parallel gifset of those once the season ends. i liked his convo with ej for the most part, but he really didnt have to beat him over the head with the “youre an emotionless robot” thing again. its clear ej is gonna throw himself into av club or whatever (even though at the end of last season that was supposed to be big red?) and discover that he has a lot going for him. because he does, he literally has everything going for him, thats why they had to make his “problem” not knowing himself. bisexual ej caswell ftw

i love the parallels between ej and nini this episode? i think since the beginning ive felt that there was a lot about them under the surface that was similar. it was interesting seeing ej tell nini about duke first, instead of the obvious choice of ashlyn. i wouldve loved to see how that scene wouldve gone with ricky, gina, carlos, or big red though bc each reaction and attempt at comforting him wouldve been so different. i didnt love that nini had to be pulled away from the conversation, but im glad they can still talk to each other after everything that went down. and i love the juxtaposition of ej’s convo with mazzara directly following nini’s convo with miss jenn bc theyre essentially the same.

speaking of, i loved miss jenn in this episode. her stories are always so funny, but i loved seeing her care so much for nini and guide her, like a teacher. i loved how she pointed out that everyone who loves nini just wants her to be happy

im glad nini is leaving yac bc there was no good way to keep that up honestly. but im pretty annoyed that they were so obvious about it? like, they immediately made it the worst place in the world without exploring it very much. the place is super unrealistic, ive never been to drama school but im sure it wouldnt be like that. no creative arts place for KIDS would be so impossibly limiting. plus the weird bluish coloring in comparison to the nice warm tones of the rest of the show was, again, a dead giveaway. why send her to the school at all if it wasnt even gonna matter?

even though im glad nini left yac, im NOT looking forward to the way miss jenn is about to bend over backwards to put her in the play somehow. she plays obvious favorites and im so annoyed

(sidenote: nini just? decided to leave yac without consulting her parents??? ummm)

ricky deciding to tell nini he wants her to stay was stupid. what did he think that would accomplish? who in their right mind would drop out of a good school for you?

i loved when nini said yac was missing something, and miss jenn said “ricky” and nini said “you.” that was so so sweet and cute

i think the kourtney/howie thing is gonna grow on me. i hate amatonormativity so im not a big fan of them introducing a whole ass character exclusively so kourtney can have a love interest, but i loved the gesture he made of bringing her the pizzas and her flashcards. i feel like kourtneys love language is acts of service, and she was literally this meme when he did that for her:

i liked seeing ashlyn try to be there emotionally for gina! i want more of them together

overall this episode was okay. not enough songs, and i wish they were spreading out the emotional conversations through the season instead of packing them all into literally one episode, but what we did get was pretty good.

after watching the preview i see that next weeks episode is gonna be about carlos’s party, and i love party episodes. BUT i hope that after that ep we finally get an advancement on the north high stuff! i dont give too many fucks about lily, but i wanna see my son asher angel

Also because fuyumi's situation reminds me of mine, you feel terrified of romance and don't believe it actually exists, you have the fear of this repeating but with your own family and you dont want your kids to go through the same thing. Also you've never been responsible for only yourself so you're wondering if you ever will figure out who "you" are really. There's so much of yourself defined by the situation you are in that if it's gone, you don't know who you are (3/2 😭😭)

i’m incoherent bc i just got outta class but yes to pretty much all of this. and also, my friend, me too ! fuyumi is a HUGE comfort character of mine because i relate to her so much for the same reasons - and now i wanna go bit by bit n talk about all the stuff you mentioned because i’ve mentioned it in pieces on this blog but never in full and i just go crazy thinking about her.

first of all in all honesty, there’s really no situation in which endeavor could ever be compatible ( which isn’t a jab at you - just want it to be clear that this is beyond parents that don’t get along ! ). he’s straight up abusive and drove his wife to a complete mental break, as well as, as i’ve said before, y’know. beating the shit out of his kids. i wanna also clarify some things on the timeline before i get started ( i’m not sure if you’ve watched/read bnha, but also this is for my mutuals that haven’t ) - fuyumi is now the eldest living. the todorokis had four kids: touya, the firstborn, then fuyumi, then natsuo, and then shouto. and i want to follow that by linking you to this page, where we find out that..... touya died AFTER rei’s breakdown and subsequent hospitalization.

i honestly don’t know the timeline of touya and shouto’s training.... bc in this panel we see that baby touya didn’t have any burn marks, no bandages, he was fully capable of playing and running around. i also think if he would have been trained the same way shouto was, rei’s break would’ve come a lot sooner, and we wouldn’t have panels like this - i think before shouto, while the todoroki family was incredibly dysfunctional, they still had some semblance of a normal family, and that’s why fuyumi is so desperate to try to have a family again; because she knows and has seen that they were a family, or at least were in her understanding as a child. this seems particularly reinforced for me because natsuo, in the light novel, talks about how he always wanted endeavor’s attention as a kid! he thought it was unfair that shouto was the one who was getting it all, so it implies to me that.... one, they had no idea at first, and two, they had to have had at least a decent relationship with him before.

so i think what happened was.... after shouto’s quirk manifested, endeavor began to change. he started training shouto because he developed the quirk he wanted, all that stuff we already know, and the stress of it all drove rei into pouring the boiling water on shouto, and then we know she was put into psychiatric care. fuyumi was 12.

rei leaving was, obviously, hard on all of them. i think fuyumi was the most disconnected from her mother, because rei saw so much of herself in fuyumi and couldn’t stand it at times. natsuo in the light novel also mentioned he didn’t mind the lack of attention because he had his mom! so it hurt fuyumi, a lot, but she was able to be strong for them because a) she was older and b) she and her mother had a strained relationship anyway.

i headcanon fuyumi was the one who found rei and shouto. she heard the kettle whistle, the screaming and crying from the kitchen, and when she rounded the corner she saw her mother and shouto on the floor as we’ve seen in canon. it was incredibly scarring. fuyumi gets frequent flashbacks and invasive imagery from this event, especially when she hears that kettle whistle / sees her brothers in the kitchen. i’ve said it over and over but she hates them being there, shouto in particular - and i think this is backed up in the light novel when she immediately makes the boys leave the kitchen after shouto tries to come in and help.

i also think endeavor thought shouto was ruined after that. his “masterpiece” was ruined because there was a very strong possibility he’d never recover from that injury, and so endeavor, in desperation, turned to his first-born son as a replacement. his wife definitely wasn’t going to be giving him any more kids, and shouto as far as he knew was out of commission. fuyumi had an ice quirk and natsuo was practically quirkless, if not ENTIRELY quirkless. but touya.... had his flames. i don’t think endeavor initially wanted to train him because he wasn’t the perfect combination that he kept trying for with rei - but here, he’d reached his own breaking point, and touya was the only option left to continue his legacy.

but it’s implied endeavor pushed too hard, or was somehow directly involved in touya’s “death.” i put this in quotes because y’know, dabi is a todoroki theory. and this obviously just made things worse. i’m linking to this page again because it says that rei got worse, too, so much so that she couldn’t see shouto anymore - but it also implies to me that natsuo and fuyumi would still visit. but anyway ! touya dies, rei gets worse, and surely soon after endeavor finds out that shouto, while he’d have that scar on his face, would recover... and still be able to be trained.

so ummm.... now i can talk about fuyumi. all that and we’re JUST getting to her.

i’m kind of starting from the last ask here, but you’re entirely right - since the age of 13, fuyumi has never been able to define herself. from here on, she was entirely shaped by her trauma, and by roles she was never supposed to have fulfilled - i.e., motherhood. as a reminder, shouto was 5-6, natsuo was 9-10, and fuyumi, at age 13-14, truly began to step in rei’s place. so fuyumi starts taking care of the two of them while touya was the one who became isolated while he was trained. and like i said in a couple other posts, her brothers rejected her mothering them at first - i.e. natsuo lashing out and saying she’s NOT their mother and shouldn’t act like it, and shouto begging for their mom all the time and not understanding where she went. fuyumi barely had her own time to process what was happening and process the loss of her mother.

and then touya died. fuyumi probably feels partially responsible for his death, too, in the same way she and natsuo have said felt responsible for not helping shouto - she often thinks she could’ve done or said something to prevent that, too. and as you said, she overanalyzes everything and she’s incredibly hypervigilant to her father’s moods, because his satisfaction is, essentially, paramount to survival. touya died because he couldn’t meet her father’s standards, or maybe because he made endeavor angry, or whatever the case.

and you’re also right about the fact that she has no one to share the burden with - or, at the very least, feels like it. the one time natsuo tried to make it easier on her by cooking dinner, their father forbade him from never doing it again. i can only imagine what this fight looked like, and how scared fuyumi was of something so small turning into something irreparable. fuyumi says on this page they “take turns”, but i only think it ever happens when endeavor’s not home.

not to mention, as a defense and coping mechanism, became the image of a perfect mother to her brothers, and a perfect daughter to her father. always putting the boys first - i headcanon when either of them were sick, fuyumi would stay home from school to take care of them. always making sure her father was pleased and mediating between him and the boys. she developed this personality that consists of nothing but love and gentleness and understanding. i talked about this in my post about her and complex ptsd, but i’ll add the relevant excerpt here, too:

it’s also very common for these survivors to re-experience emotions from trauma intrusively - particularly when triggered. these feelings are often disproportionate to the present situation, but are equal to the intensity of what was required of them at the time of a trauma – also known as an emotional flashback.

fuyumi’s trauma has always put her in situations where she plays the peacemaker, the level head, the kind and gentle and understanding one. and because fuyumi is CONSTANTLY re-traumatized and exposed to her triggers because that entire house is one, it’s become her entire personality.

so fuyumi doesn’t really get to discover herself, at all, outside her trauma. her live revolves entirely around her brothers and her father. i think this also contributes to her desperation to repair her family now, because.... she doesn’t know what else is beyond that.

she’s stuck here. she can’t heal or move on right now.

fuyumi is a busybody because she KNOWS if she ever stops moving, she’ll crash, as you said. and it happens on occasion - but always behind closed doors. she has these.... quiet breaks, before she’s “fine” and moving on the next day. shouto and natsuo have never seen this side of her. she keeps this perfect facade of being put together tight under wraps.

i think the last thing to address with this ask is the aspect of romance and family - and once again, my dear friend, you’ve hit the nail on the head ! to start, fuyumi is deeply afraid of romance. she’s in love with the idea of it, as we can tell from her obsession with soap operas and trashy novels, but in reality it takes a long, long time for fuyumi to ever feel comfortable enough to define or initiate things between herself and someone else. it’s why she’s also always involved in people who are very straightforward, who won’t keep secrets from her, because she needs clarity in a relationship always. not to even mention a family of her own - fuyumi is so terrified of becoming her mother. even now, it’s why she refuses to let her brothers in the kitchen with her - because she knows how alike they are.

what’s really incredible to me is that despite all of that, fuyumi’s love and optimism and empathy and all that kindness and gentleness for the world is still very real and true. you can see it in the way she smiles, it’s in the way she sees the little things in people and remembers them, it’s in the unconditional love and understanding she gives to her friends and partners, the care she takes in tending to the family garden, the attention to her students - she truly embodies the good of humanity, the good of people - an aspect of her character that i love is how entirely mundane she is, and yet... she’s so, so special. her path to healing will always begin with forgiveness (though once she’s able to get away from endeavor, she’ll never be around him again), because she’s not a person that can live with anger in her heart, and i will always love how that’s presented as an entirely valid thing to do.

as a final addendum to this post, nearly no one knows about any of that. fuyumi won’t talk about it unless it’s entirely unavoidable, and even then she tries to make excuses and dance around it. like.... she stops up, she can’t speak. she freezes and completely stops functioning. ironic considering how openly her brothers will talk about it.

so anyways. i don’t think you expected this long winded answer, but i couldn’t help myself. thanks for sending this in !

After five years, Kit was a rowdy little boy. Running around with a smile on his face at all times. You wouldn’t think he was a slave if it wasnt for the thin black collar on his neck.

In how obedient he turned with his masters. Even though he didn’t understand the concept yet.

“Master? Why are Roahn and Shy here?” Kit asked Danae once. Layo and Danae weren’t mom and dad. They were master. But for his little mind it was just the same thing.

“To serve you and us, Kit. You will understand it better when you grow up”

“Alright” Kit said watching Roahn taking care of the garden with her big bump “Master? Will I be able to play with Roahn’s baby?” Kit asked again.

“No more questions Kit” She said annoyed. The kid was quiet but he still looked at Roahn with curiosity.

“Roahn?” Kit asked the woman being hugged by Dimitri in their floor mat. She woke up as it was the middle of the night, and when she saw him, he shook Dimitri awake. They sat in the other side of the cell.

“Hey there Kit” Dimitri smiled at the toddler.

“Hi Shy” Kit said.

“What is it Kit? Are you hurt?” Roahn said stretching her arm for the kid to hold her hand through the bars. The kid took it.

“I am cold upstairs. So I thought you were very cold here too. Its always chilly down here” the kid grabbed the blanket he had carried all the way down and gave it to Dimitri. “I dont want the baby to be cold”.

They looked at each other with a pained and proud expression.

“Do you…wanna see how she moves?” Roahn asked the toddler who instantly put a smile on his face.

Roahn went close to the cell and told the kid to get closer. Kit did. She grabbed his tiny hand and put it on her abdomen. Curiously she moved. As if the little one inside her knew.

“She’s rowdy!” Kit said. The word coming from how Layo would call him sometimes. Kit was an smart boy.

“Yes she is!” Roahn laughed along.

“I cant wait to play with her!” Dimitri and Roahn went stiff “I mean, if I can…” Kit cleared up sensing their discomfort.

Roahn took his hand into hers and gave it a little kiss.

“Of course you can” she said looking at her son in the same hazel eyes she had. His worries escaped his face to be turned into smiling.

“What would you call her, Kit?” Dimitri asked him.

Kit reflexed for a bit, looking at the ceiling.

“Bunnie!” He said “oh! Or Sara! Or Emi!”

“Where did you take those names from?” Dimitri giggled. They were good names.

“Master is writing a new book. I am a character there too!” He said proudly.

“Oh? You are?” Dimitri said, resting his chin in one hand. Roahn thought it had been a long time since she saw him smile like that. Not since Olivia.

“Yes! I am a dog!” Dimitri stopped right there with a shocked face. He cracked a humorless laugh. He really hated Layo for doing that sick joke.

“Do you like dogs Kit?” He asked anyways.

“Yes!! Sadly master doesn’t like them…” Kit pouted.

“Hey Kit, what if I told you there’s a place where you could have a lot of dogs?” Dimitri asked him Roahn looking at him.

“Eh?! Really? Where’s that?” Kit asked getting closer.

“I can take us there but I need you to tell me something. I only will ask you to see one thing everyday ok?” He said getting closer to him. The camera and the microphone were not a problem. They had been tricked for years.

“Everyday?”

“Yes”

“What?”

“If you ever see big men with black suits tell me what day they come in alright? Or if master says something about an auction tell me. And then we will go to that place, Alright?” Dimitri said. Roahn wasn’t sure if the kid had gotten all, but Kit was smarter than they could see.

He already knew how to read.

“An auction? Like last time?”

Dimitri couldn’t help himself from looking down for a bit.

“Yes, Kit. Like last time. Would you do that for us?” She asked him calmly.

“Ok. I will tell you” Kit said. “Im going to sleep. Goodnight” Kit said going away.

“Wait!” Dimitri yelled, the kid turned back.

“Thanks for the blanket” Roahn said covering her and Shy.

“We love you Kit” Dimitri said. The kid didnt know how to take that and just blushed before running off.

Dimitri and her laid down again. After a moment, the woman’s arms squeezed him lightly.

“Are you sure?” Roahn asked him.

“We cant let this slip off again, Roahn” he said.

“You have changed” she told her “I remember you telling me you didnt have bad thoughts about your owners”

Dimitri embraced her stronger dipping his face into her neck.

“Ivan was all I had. And he was taken from me. He was killed by a bunch of brainless fuckers. I told myself I wouldn’t fixate on his dead. And tried to forget. But when that happened…” Roahn reached for his hand and squeezed “I knew I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I cant let this freaks fuck with us anymore. We have to go before the auction. Much more longer before that”

“Three months” Roahn said “after she’s born, three months and we will go”

“In that time I’ll have it all ready” Dimitri kissed her shoulder “I wont fail this time” he said as she smiled.

His face had a big scar that went all the way from his cheekbone to his neck.

Layo had tried to cut his carotid when they tried to escape the first time. And he almost succeeded.

The baby was born a week later. Kit was amazed by the baby’s arrival. Apparently her name was Jen. Although Kit thought how Bunnie would have had suit her better he went on. For him Dimitri was the only way of knowing how she was doing. Kit was a curious child so he would ask him lots of questions. Dimitri had received some education but many of his questions beat him. At those times he would pat him and tell him the library had a book about that day’s question they could read together.

Sometimes, when they knew there was no one in the house but them, he let Kit sit on his leg.

By now Dimitri and Roahn had to wear clothes at all times except when their genitals were required. They weren’t that used to be so covered but definitely it was warmer. And less humiliating. But the mounting…those were nights were those rules didn’t matter.

“How is Jen and Roahn?” Kit asked him.

“They’re ok. Jen is a very healthy baby. You would love her” Dimitri said.

“I would have loved if she was named Bunnie though…” the kid pouted. Dimitri laughed.

“You know my name isn’t Shy?” He said the kid opening his eyes amused.

“Then what’s your name?”

“Dimitri” He said with a bitter sweet smile. It was the name his brother had gave him. He wanted to tell him to call him dad, but right now that was too risky.

“What a pretty name! Why are you called Shy by Master then?” Kit asked. Dimitri pursed his lips together and touched his scar.

“Its a nickname”

“Nick…?”

“A name only good friends call each other”

“But you don’t like Master at all…”

“Well, some nicknames are for people you don’t like” he giggled wryly.

“Hey, Sh—Dimitri, what does “slave” mean?” The kid asked him, getting his full attention.

“Master called me that the other day when I dropped a bit of juice. I dont know if its a good nickname…” Dimitri held him strong.

“You dont need to know that Kit” he said to him “You’re a good boy ok?”

Kit thought about the many times he had been called bad things and found comforting he said that. So he hugged back.

They stayed there like that for a while.

At night, report.

“They havent mentioned it yet then Kit?” Dimitri asked him from the other side of the cell. Kit shook his head, his curly black hair flopping.

“Thats perfect. And what is master doing on thursday?”

“They have their cocktail party and go early” kit said. Dimitri was making mental notes.

“When do they go on their trip?” Dimitri asked him looking up.

“On sunday”

Dimitri has made his plan. Five days were a bit short but the three months had passed and he had it all ready. The few money he could slip from change. A few clothes. Tools. Food. They were ready to go.

“Kit, in Sunday I need you to do something fun. Would you grab your binoculars and tell me when they go and bring me the keys in Master’s office?”

Kit physically did a step back.

“What is it?”

“Im…not allowed there…I cant…”

“It’s ok Kit. Dont worry. Can you play explorer and tell me when they go then?” The kid shook his head vigorously. “You’re such a good kid, Kit” he revolved his hair. And gave him a candy hidden in the downside of the mat.

“Ah! Thank you Dimitri! I love you!” Kit said while hugging him through the bars. Dimitri had to be really strong to hold the tears in.

“I love you too Kit” he said watching him go off.

He stared at the ceiling unable to sleep.

How much he wished Cal and Olivia were there too. But the pain of losing them wouldn’t happen ever again.

Even if he died at it. They would go and get freedom.

May 25th 1995

This was the first day that Pearl and Amethyst felt comfortable enough to let Opal play with the other kids out in the yard. Still such a tiny fragile child but has gotten stronger and feisty over the years watching the others play from her bedroom window. Her parents opened the back door for her and she took her first step onto the back porch. Opal tightened the grip on her favorite toy dow that she took with her everywhere, the sunlight blinded her for a moment. She took in the moment to listen to the others wrestling and playing on the swing set. Then when Opal opened her eyes again, her best friend Garnet stood before her. 

"OPAL!" Garnet yelled, holding Opal's hands. 

Garnet was a messy afro hair tot with tights and a ragged skirt from wrestling with Opals elder brother Sugilite and their friend Malachite. Her shirt was already covered in dirt though just arriving so her parents Ruby and Sapphire could head to work. 

"Garnet!" Opal yelled back, then hugged her tightly. 

Pearl kneeled down to garnet and said, "Now don't get Opal into any of your rough housing, she still a tiny lil thing and i don't want her getting hurt." 

"Yes sir." Garnet replied before pulling Opal away out into the yard.

"GARNET! HELP GET THIS DUMB BOULDER OFF OF ME!" Sugilite yelled as he was being tackled down by Malachite. 

Malachite holds Sugilite's face into the ground with his foot then pins him down, "Don't be such a wimp. If you didn't want to get your butt kicked, you shouldn't have started it!"

Garnet then steps into the fight and broke them apart, "Both of you are stupid boulders, cant you see we have a new friend today?!" 

The two boys turned their attention to Opal as she nervously waved. 

"Who are you?" Malachite snared. 

"That's my sister, Opal you ignoramus!" Sugilite snared back. 

"YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WORD MEANS!" Malachite refocused his anger back on sugilite. 

"OH YA! WELL, NEITHER DO YOU!" sugilite snapped trying to charge at Malachite. 

"BREAK IT UP YOU TWO!" garnet finally pushed them apart. 

The two boys fall onto their butts knowing who the clear winner of the fight is. 

"Maly! You go chill with Opal. Sugy your with me." Garnet ordered. 

"Fine! You win gar." Malachite stood up and brushed himself off. 

"Next time ill defeat you both in a fight." Sugilite declared as he stood up and was pushed away by garnet.

"Ya, ya. You say that every time" Garnet replies.

Malachite then turns to Opal with his hands behind his head, "So why havn't I see you around if you live here."

"My dad told me I'm too small and fragile to play with you guys." She replies then thinks to her self, "I can see why."

"Well if you can't fight. What can you do?" Malachite questioned. 

"I can't still play tag!" Opal excitedly proclaimed. 

"Fine, you can be chaser then. GET ME IF YOU CAN!" Malachite shouted as he raced off. 

Opal chases after him as fast as she could, testing her skills as he dodges and weaves her passes. She runs at him again but then she sees a butterfly beneath her feet. she slips and falls onto her left arm.

SNAP!

the sharp sound pierces everyone's ears.

Garnet pauses in shock then runs to Opals side.

Lapis and pearl see this and rush out into the yard and separate the kids. Lapis tightly holds on to her own child "IM SO SORRY!" 

"I new it was too soon to let her play with the others." Soon pearl realizes the issue and rushes Opal to the hospital.

Lapis and Amethyst set Malachite and Sugilite down and explain to them what has happened and why they need to be more careful around opal. 

Lapis takes Malachite home.

May 26th, 1995

"It's time for school!" Lapis yells to malachite to get up. 

Malachite stumbles out of his bedroom and into his mother's bedroom then asks, "hey mom? Can I stay home today?" 

As Lapis was just finishing getting dressed, she then turns to her son, "what! Why? Are you sick?"

"Because I wanna see if opal is okay." He replies.

Lapis sighs, "You can see her when you get home AFTER school." 

Malachite yell "BUT MOM?!"

Lapis snaps back, "I SAID NO! NOW COME ON AND GET DRESSED, we already slept in too late. "

Malachite huffs and heads back into his bedroom.

When they start to leave, he grabs his backpack as he heads out the door with his mother. He tosses his backpack in then gets in himself, as Lapis gets in and lays her own school bag into the passenger sit, se looks back to her son through the rearview mirror.

Malachite disappointedly looks out his window, thinking of how he could make things right with Opal.

Lapis drives Malachite down to the bus stop, "now please be good. And have a good day... I love you." 

Malachite says as he is leaving the car, "I love you to." 

Lapis rushes off to try and make it in time for her own classes. As soon as her car is out of sight, Malachite runs back towards home. 

He runs up to their apartment and tosses his back pack on to the floor. Then goes to his room and smashes open his piggy bank then scrapes up his savings and leaves again. 

He walks through town to a flower shop, buys a dozen tiger lilies and then heads to Opal's house. 

As soon as he reaches their door he beats it trying to get someone to answer. 

Amethyst opens the door with a yawn. "Oh hey kid, aren't you suppose to be in school?" 

"Yes ma'am" he replies, "but I wanted to bring opal a gift to say I'm sorry for what happened." Showing the flowers. 

Amethyst takes them and says, "Thanks, but she is fine. It's only a broken arm." She smiles rubbing the back of her head. "But now you should be getting to school. Do you want me to drive you?" 

Malachite replies, "No, I was hoping to see her as well. MA'AM!" 

"What's with the formality?" Amethyst asks.

"My mom said it helps to be nice and use formal words to get the things you want." Malachite says nervously.

Amethyst laughs, "Well I guess it wouldn't hurt if you stayed. She is up in her room first door to the right."

 Malachite quickly hugs Amethyst then soon rushes up the stairs into Opal's bedroom. 

He finds Opal is still asleep, so he pulls up a chair next to her. Amethyst later walks in with a vase with the tiger lilies and clear water in it. He sets it by opals window. Then leaves. 

Time goes by as Malachite awaits for her to wake up contemplating what he will even say to her. 

Soon its noon, Amethyst walks in with 2 plates of food and sets them next to Malachite on the desk behind him. 

Malachite, "Is it lunch time already?" 

Amethyst replies "yep" as she gently nudges opal. "Honey, it's time to wake up." 

Malachite freaks out and silently yells "NO IM NOT READY, I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT I’M GOING TO SAY TO HER!" 

Opal sits up and yawns, "good morning mama" she rubs her eyes then looks to Malachite, "Oh?! Hey! You were that boy from yesterday." She smiles

Malachite blushes and turns away blushing, "I got you flowers."

This makes Malachite blush even more as opals eyes light up. "They are beautiful!"

Amethyst snickers, "Yes, he felt so bad, he even skipped school for you." then leaves. 

Opal: "THANK YOU MAMA! " 

They grad their respective plates and eat in silence. 

After Malachite finishes he says, "Well I guess you are okay, I'll just head home now." 

"You don't want to stay?" Opal sadly replies. 

"You want me to?" He says facing away from her.

"Well it dose get really lonely here sitting in my room all the time." Opal pleads. "Just promise you'll come see me again tomorrow okay?" 

Malachite turns to her face fully flushed "Why would you want me to stay? I'm the reason you got hurt!" 

"I.. I don't think you meant to break my arm. I am willing to give you another chance if you want. I don't really have many friends anyway so.. I'd like it if we could be friends."

No Pukyuu... only Questions (Akatsuki no Yona Ch 185 SPOILERS LONG POST)

Literally just my thoughts immediately after I read the chapter:

I DONT KNOW HOW TO FEEL!!!

Soo-won is clearly sick or maybe it’s stress exacerbating an illness that may have otherwise been fine???? Like:

Idk if the whole “pain abates” thing is an indication it’s a mental stress/breakdown sort of thing that’s worsening a physical condition or it’s just him finding comfort in a familiar presence, and him just being lonely and wanting to reconnect with Yona and missing his friends... the latter seems more likely but you never know... having Hak and Yona in the castle must be mentally taxing on so many levels...

All that said...I mean he has been talking about how he never anticipated staying on the throne long and has already picked a goddamn successor... I’ve always wondered if Kusanagi would go down the “main antagonist dies” scenario but via illness???? Idk how I feel about that... “a final confrontation between childhood friends turned enemies where the antagonist inevitably gets defeated but they all hover over his dying breath and reach a moment of understanding and redemption” seems to obvious an ending??? Doing battle only to kill off Soo-won seems like a disservice to his complexity and story... but idk illness??? IDK IF HIM DYING OF ILLNESS WOULD BE BETTER FULFILMENT?!?! ULTIMATELY I JUST DONT WANT HIM TO DIE BUT I DONT KNOW HOW ELSE HIS STORY WILL END?!?!

and now Hak is a soldier in the sky tribe army?? His reaction to that was fascinating... his pained collapse aside, he was confused obviously but the eagerness with which he wanted to tell Yona, and also the kinda heartbreaking recognition of how happy Gulfan was in seeing Hak again... could not tell if he was pleased or sad with Hak’s decision... everyone keeps making decisions around him but not really discussing them with him??? Kye-Shook really allowed Hak to enlist in the army without discussing it with the supervising general OR his king... he’s been allowed mostly free reign so far and idk about that...

Then there’s the Yona side of things where she witnesses this whole breakdown... she immediately reacts to him fainting bc what can you do?? She’s not gonna shove him off her and walk away... but obv the big bad between them can’t be forgotten and though Yona’s compassion overweighs her bitterness... damn the conflict she must be feeling in comforting him...

Hak is also seeking out answers... given Yona’s... “receptiveness” to trying to understand Soo-won, and Hak struggling with even staying calm in his presence, it’s fascinating to see him taking that step in seeing what was going through Soo-won’s and the other generals minds when Il was murdered and they quite readily decided to follow this new king, despite the OBVIOUSLY SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES of Il’s death...

I think that’s always bothered me that they were so ready for a new King, albeit a very capable and charismatic one... and it’s not like Hak can blame them... he also wanted Soo-Won to rule by Yona’s side... because he had faith in them both... and knew Soo-Won would have been right for the kingdom...

I’m glad Hak managed to convince Joo-Doh though... if theres one thing they can both see to eye to eye on... it’s faith in the master they’ve sworn loyalty to...

Speaking of... they’re not the only ones with an infallible and fervent loyalty to their master...getting some backstory on Kye-Shook and how he was a soldier in the past and Yu-hon took him in despite his injuries is fascinating...you can’t hate him for his loyalty either... maybe you can dislike him for his general skulkiness and thus far wholly antagonistic attitude to the HHB and Yona and Hak in particular... but you can understand that it’s because they jeopardise the vision he’s had in putting Yu-Hon’s son on the throne... Gobi really is the only un-complex character in the whole damn series huh?

So basically... it boils down to the role of one mega dead dude with some splainin to do...

"(Y/N) as fun as it sounds," Ben said speaking into his phone, "wouldn't you have more fun dress shopping with your friends, or the bridemaids?"

You had called minutes ago asking him to join you so you could have a second opinion on which dress to buy for your cousin's wedding.

You sighed the sound being picked up, "We kept rescheduling the day to go together cause of my work but when I was finally free I got sick. So I just told the girls to go buy their dresses without me."

"I honestly don't think I know enough to help," Ben said nervously.

"Just tell me if it looks good or not and we'll survive. Before you say no just think of me giving you the face," you teased.

Ben chuckled but he was already imagining your eyes staring at him pathetically and your bottom lip pouting. That expression always got him to give into you.

You met Ben when he became your maths tutor in University. The two of you found yourselve's spending time together after studying and easily slid into a comfortable friendship and later became best friends.

"I hate you," he muttered only for you to cheer.

"Meet me downtown in thirty minutes."

The two of you had gone through a number of boutiques and stores without you even having ancidea of what you wanted. You kept insiting that you'd know it when you saw it but Ben was getting tired.

Ben groaned as he followed you into another store, "I'm saying this because I love you, you're overthinking this. Just get something nice so I can sit down."

"Fine, if we don't find anything here I'll just wear something I already have," you said feeling yourself slowly start to give up.

Thats when you saw the beautiful dress, hanging on a rack among others. "Ooh, look at this one. Think I'd look good in it?"

Ben tilted his head at it, "Why dont you try it?"

You picked your size and went into the fitting room to try it. The dress was a deep mustard yellow starting off with a plunging sweetheart neckline. The top section was covered with a delicate lace pattern stopping at the top of your waist. The rest was a pleated skirt that fell down past your mid thigh. You stood as your reflection looked back at you. Ben came behind you hands stuffed in his pockets, his eyes meeting yours with a knowing smile.

You smiled back, "This is it. We can go celebrate with drinks now, you're buying of course."

"Why am I buying?"

"Cause I did last time, plus you got that Hollywood money," you joked.

Ben shook his head chuckling.

"Just let me change and pay for this," you located the tag, "How much is- oh shit!"

"What, what's wrong with it?!"

"This dress is worth two paychecks. Fuck me, I can't afford this," you let out a puff of air.

Ben lifted a shoulder, "I can."

Your head snapped to look at him, "No."

"What, why not?"

"Because, I dont want you to. I'll wait for it to go on sale."

"By then the wedding will already have happened. C'mon it's not like I'm taking out a loan or anything. I got that hollywood money, baby," he said with a raised brow and confident smirk.

You laughed pushing at his chest, "Stop."

"Just let me buy you this one dress, think of it as an early birthday present?"

You chewed on you lip before nodding, "Fine but I'll have to pay you back."

You'd managed to get Ben as your plus one. Since he was well accuainted with your family the wedding had been a great time. He was catching up with some family members of your while you went off to dance during the reception.

You saw an elderly man tapping his foot watching everyone else dance from his seat. If you could remember correctly he was your cousin's, wife's great uncle. You approached him with a smile, "Hey Uncle Mike, wanna dance."

He shook his head politely, "Not unless the DJ plays something from this century."

You laughed before cupping your hands over your mouth and bellowing in the direction of the DJ, "Play something from this century!" Ok so you were a little buzzed but who cared, it was a wedding.

The DJ looked at you and replied with a finger gun in your direction. The next song began and you looked back at Mike. "Sounds current, let's hit the dance floor."

Mike chortled getting up carefully and following you. You easly slipped into the song's rhythm moving along with Mike. You dress shone the fabric catching the lights cascading from the chandalier.

Ben smiled seeing you enjoying yourself. No one ever pushed you two to be more than friends but sometimes he wondered what it would have been like to be college sweethearts. The idea dissipated when Ben got more serious with his acting and was gone for months at a time, only seeing you at random weeks.

With the song coming to an end he saw Mike tilting his head in his direction. You looked over and saw Ben's gaze on you. After a quick exchange you gave the man a kiss on the cheek and went over to your friend.

With a cheeky grin you held out your hand for him, "Don't even think about saying "no"."

You were quickly putting on your shoes and jacket as you prepared to leave.

Ben was lounging on your couch when he asked, "Where's the date again?"

You looked up at him briefly, "I'm gonna be having dinner at some high end michelin star restaurant."

Ben pressed his lips together trying to push down his disappointment. He could take you to dinner, hell he'd take you anywhere if you asked. But you never did, so he sat there admiring the way that yellow dress followed your curves. Damn you were too good to be true sometimes.

"Don't stay up, and lock my door. G'night," you said before rushing out of the apartent.

You sat at the restaurant waiting for your date. Your fifteen minute wait became half an hour then two. The entire time you were holding off the waitress assuring her someone else was coming knowing deep down you'd been stood up. It wasn't until you got a notification on your phone that your resolve broke. The person that was supposed to be having dinner with you had posted an instagram video of them partying it up in a yatch. You couldn't even begin to fathom the heartlessness and idiocy of one person. Pressing your lips together you got the waitresses attention getting your check.

When you got home you hastily tried to unlock your door in order to avoid seeing Ben. His apartment was only three doors down and he had a habit of catching while you were at your door.

You were about to run into the safety of your home when you heard his voice, "Y/N, How was the date?"

"Got stood up, going to bed," you mumbled.

Ben reached for your arm, "Hey,are you ok, do you want to talk?"

You shook your head so lightly it was barely noticable, "Maybe tomorrow when it's not so fresh."

"Ok," he said with an understanding nod, "Well I got some take out from No More Mr. Rice Guy. There's some extra in here for you."

"Really?" the grumbling in your stomach signaled a need to be sated.

Ben chuckled, "C'mon, I was about to binge watch Good Omens."

With a new gleam in your eye you kicked of your shoes and slipped out of your jacket you following him into his apartment.

Ben had made a point to tell you what that yellow dress did to him before the two of you left. You would have been significantly late if you hadn't stopped him the moment his fingers traced your shoulder blades, reaching for the zipper.

Everyone was laughing at a story that Joe was telling. You had all gathered together for an intimate cocktail dinner. The conversations were light and everyone around the table was in a relaxed state you rarely saw in them.

A long time back you had noticed Ben liked having some sort of contact with you. And when you started dating it was amped up. An arm around your shoulder or waist, his knees touching yours, his head on your shoulder, and most often a hand on your thigh.

So it wasn't unusual when his hand landed there. Your worry only began to grow when you felt it travel higher. You pressed your lips together as his index finger pressed against your clit. The others didn't seem to notice anything but you worried the sudden pounding in your heart was so loud it could be heard by the people in the next house.

He gently patted the inside of your thigh and legs moved apart enough to give his hand more room.

Without removing his attention away from the conversration Ben moved your underwear aside dipping his finger into your sopping core. He moved finger in and out torturously slow making sure to rub your clit as well only making you crave more.

"Oh god," you whispered breathelessly. The talking died down with eveyone turning to you.

Ben's hand slowed to a stop, "Anything the matter?"

Picking up your drink and downing the rest of it you pushed away from the table making Ben retract his hand quickly, "We're leaving. Now."

You stared at the remaining mud covered dress now in tatters. 

"What happeped?" you asked in a strained whisper looking at the six year old before you.

Your son shrugged looking down at his feet, "I saw it on the bed. And when you wear it it looks so pretty. So, so-" his sniffles took over as tears began to spill from his eyes. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't know Frankie was gonna take it and I tried to to g-g-get it back! Then she ran outside and you told me not to go in the rain and I'm really really sorry! Don't be angry!" Your son's sobs had his shoulders shaking. 

"Evan, baby, It's alright. Everyone makes mistakes," you dropped the dress and pulled his shaking form to you trying to soothe his cries. 

Evan wiped his nose with the sleeve of his shirt, "Are you angry with me?" 

You sighed shaking your head, "I'm sad because it was my favorite. But I'll be fine. Just be more careful, ok?" You smiled down at him wiping down his tears.

Evan nodded vigorously still trying to calm down.

"Evan, where are you little bean? We gotta get ready," Ben called coming into your room. When he enter he assesed the scene his brows pulling together in worry. Then his eyes saw the dress, "What..."

Your eyes flitted to it for a second, "Don't worry about it." You thought back to all the memories one cut of yellow fabric held. The fun times, the heartache, the moment you realized Ben was who you wanted to go through life with you, all of it. But holding your child you knew you couldn't dwell on it. There were more memories to be made.

Ben kneeled next you giving you kiss. "You know I still have that hollywood money," he mumbled against your lips.

You giggled, "Are you ever going to let that go?"

- How do they fall asleep? Wake up? Any daily rituals? Most times they end up falling asleep with each other and waking up with Rayquelle in Eron’s hold due to the nightmares she has she seeks the comfort and warmth! DAILY RITUALS UH YEAH they try to go out at least once a day and have a ‘date’ and stargaze. It’s a way for them to relax, be in each others presence but not have to worry about others.

- How’s their team work? Do they share well? Ray is a very independent woman but since joining the resistance she has had to partake inmore team activities. Eron understands her Hesitance and works with it or around it so they can get their task done without making her uncomfortable. 

- Are they open about their relationship? How do they feel about public displays of affection? Ok so this is a big thing. In the beginning stages of their relationship no one knows hell not even they really do. Eron needs alot of trust because of the walls around him and the second layer around his heart and Ray respects that. He tore hers down before she go into his so thats something she has to accept. They don’t really come out about their relationship I think ever it just kind of becomes natural and people start to see the looks in their eyes when they look at each other. Public display of affection follows the same rules and I actually think Eron is the first to break that (I answered an ask like this) Where he would have to make the conscious decision to partake in PDA.

- First impression of each other? Was it love at first sight? NO IT WAS NOT! Thats a hard question because i feel like in the canon verse they never feel really a NEED too. They dont need a ring to tell them that they love each other. But in any AU with them as a ship or in a verse where they do get married. They don’’t want anything big only those important to them  their marriage is for them not their friends and family. Its about them giving themselves to each other. The proposal would be cute and heartfelt and could be as simple as Eron kissing her neck and just “I want to marry you...” or her after a night of him grounding her form a nightmare she just “I want you and me forever... let’s get married Eron”  The honeymoon? They dont need fancy yet again just each other. Take it as an excuse to give it all into each other with no interruptions

BUT on the occasion they do they get alittle emotional. Make up consists of lots of just quality time. maybe some sex who knows.

- What does their home look like? Their room? Their home thanks to Ray is clean and tidy with a set spot for everything! The same applies for their room.Their things are in no set sides of room for the most part its where ever it works

- Does their work ever interfere with the relationship? Not in a serious method. It does spark some fear in both parties and there are nights where they get genuinely upset the other isn't there and have a horrible time sleeping. Unable to get a lick.

The doubts stem of “They will leave me like everyone else” in Eron’s head and Ray is scared she will lose him like she lost her parents. The minute comfort finds her Embrent returns and kills Eron in front of her. But in Eron himself? She knows he loves her undoubtedly and that he will always. Now she can only hope he knows she feels the same.

IT WOULD WRECK THEM they probs could but like alot of them is physical interaction and with her nightmares it would wreck eron watching that with nothing he could do to help. Chapter 6 - Play Time

When Daisy finally recovered from her sprained ankle she was full of energy and ready to go one hundred miles a minute. It's part of the reason Sophia and I call her crazy Daisy sometimes. She'd built up so much energy from having to lay around for two weeks that it was all rushing out of her. To be honest it was getting a little exhausting and I was sad to admit I was getting my ass handed to me by a seven year old. Sophia and I both decided to throw a little get together at our house so Daisy could be around her cousins and hopefully playing with all of them could help her tire out some. -Ding dong- Daisy propped up a little footstool to see through the peephole. She smiled big and opened the door for Alijah, his wife, and their son Jackson. "Hi uncle Alijah, Auntie Sasha, and Jackson!" Daisy hugged all of them tight. "YOU JACKSON! YOU LOOK LIKE A JACKSON!" I shouted from the backyard. I could feel Alijah rolling his eyes from here. "Between him and my dad that joke is never going to end. I warned you about this when you wanted to name him that." "Well excuse me for wanting to name him after my dad! Anyway hi there Daisy you seem to be looking a lot better." Sasha said checking out her ankle. "Oh yeah check it out." She jumped as high as she could. "Doesn't hurt any more!" "That's good, so where's your parents?" "We're here!" Sophia shouted from upstairs. She made her way over and greeted them. "Hey Sasha." The two hugged as she walked them to the back yard. "Hi aunt Sophia." Jackson hugged her back. "Where's uncle Nathan?" "He is out back getting all the stuff prepped." "I'll go give him a hand." Alijah said. Alijah popped out back holding a plate I was meaning to bring out. We greeted one another and he stood back while I continued brushing down the grill. Alijah walked over to the cooler to get us drinks and catch me up on the goings on of his life. More guests continued to arrive all being greeted by the eager Daisy. Before I knew it the sound of scampering kids filled the house. Tegan's parents arrived to the backyard making themselves comfortable among my family. I'd had difficulty in life making new friends outside of the ones I grew up with. Sure I'd make friends in school and stuff but never ones I really felt like were a part of that inner circle. Having Daisy and Sophia helped change that a little since they're both social butterflies. Sophia took a seat on my lap eating her lunch. "Yeah sure welcome." I laughed looking up at her. "Well we have lots of guests coming and I figured we could just share. Unless you have a problem then I can find another seat." "No no what's mine is yours sweetie." She kissed me. "Gimme a bite though." She rolled her eyes and lowered her food down to me. "Whapsh!" Alijah snickered. I leered over at him. He just shrugged his shoulders. Sasha took notice and followed Sophia's example. "Y'mind baby?" Sasha said taking a more rough approach just planting down on Alijah's lap. "AGH! Oh no of course.." He mouthed you suck to me and I shrugged back. A little after I soon found Daisy draping herself over my shoulders as well. "Well hey there my little energizer bunny. You running low on power yet?" She shook her head. "So what's up Daisy?" "Nooothin. Just wanted to say love you. Oh! and you too mommy." She gave us both big kisses on the cheek before running off once again. My fucking heart is melting. Everyone looked at one another before giving us a group "Aw". My sisters welcomed themselves inside with their families next and Daisy had all her favorite playmates. It was always so funny watching them all play around together. I'd think Cole would be the one organizing what games were going to be played but by nature he's too laid back. Daisy was usually the one leading the charge and leading the cavalry of children. Natalie and Selena sat across from me carrying both plates of food and babies. "Hey brother can you be helpful and please get us drinks?" Selena asked. "What are your legs broken?" I laughed. Though they both looked none too amused. "Okay okay I'll be right back." "Thanks youuu." They said in unison. I set the drinks in front of them while they started to eat. "See that's being a good host." What seemed like twenty minutes later an exhausted Elizabeth joined us in the backyard catching her breath. We heard shouts for Elizabeth echoing in the front yard "Whoa what happened to you?" Sophia giggled. "All..the..kids..chasing me..I dont wanna be fun aunt Liz right now can I tag someone in?" We all threw our hands up. "This is your life Lizzy." Selena smirked rocking Charly in her arms. "Aw c'mon I haven't even eaten yet. I like sat down and Daisy was pulling me up to play tag, hide and seek, and everything else!" "Okay okay. Daisy!" I shouted. She popped her head out the screen door. "Yeah daddy?" "Aunt Lizzys not playing right now okay? Let her sit down and eat. Just play with your cousins and friends." Daisy nodded her head before racing back to the front yard. Elizabeth collapsed in the chair next to mine taking a big drink of water. "Okay now I will devour this food. Because it is free, and I am starving." "Go right on ahead you earned it." I laughed. Elizabeth started eating like she hadn't seen food in years. Though as quickly as it begun, it was just as quick in ending. "..I think I ate too fast.." She had almost a sick look to her. Typical, Elizabeth always thinks she can eat so much but never finishes. What can I say though she is somewhere in the middle of the body type Natalie and Selena had at her age. Like a good sch-medium. I didn't expect her to finish the whole plate she assembled for herself filled to the edge. "Can I wrap it up? I can eat it back to my apartment for later.." "Aha yeah sure lemme get that for you." Sophia offered taking her plate. "Aw baby sister.." I teased poking her in the sides. "Nathan stoooop!" She fidgeted protecting her sides. "I'm too full to play this game..You might make me throw up." "Ew okay enough said." When the sun began to set I set up the fire pit so the kids could make s'mores as dessert. Daisy sat up on my lap focused on her marshmallow in the fire looking for the perfect amount of toast on it. Sophia held her plate with the graham cracker and chocolate. She plopped the golden brown marshmallow on the cracker, her eyes lighting up as to what was to come. She took the first bite and immediately had bits of melted chocolate and marshmallow threads sticking to her face. Daisy offered both Sophia and I bites and we graciously accepted. "Oh lord sweetie lemme wipe your face." Sophia pulled out a napkin. Being messy while eating s'mores is part of the experience and all the parents were finding out. "Can we make another one?" Daisy asked looking up at me. Normally I'd say yes, but being with Sophia made me look to her. "No Daisy it's late. Besides you've had enough sweets like all day." Daisy huffed in disappointment. Though she slowly forgot as she continued just watching the fire. I made my own s'more and while Sophia wasn't looking I tapped Daisy's shoulder. She took a quick bite, and we laughed at the sneak. "DAISY NICOLE" Sophia looked stern at her. "I thought I told you no."   "But I didn't make it!" Daisy threw her hands up in innocence. Sophia leered at me. "How'd you even find out she ate one!" I asked baffled. "Nathan she has chocolate all over her cheeks." Remember what I said about being messy? God damnit it haha. "We gotta teach you to make careful bites." Daisy nodded in agreement. When it got late we put out the fire and cleaned up. Daisy helped Sophia put away the dishes while I took out the trash. "Alright, let's get upstairs and shower up. You were in the sun all day and probably got all sweaty." Sophia nudged Daisy in the direction of the stairs. "Can you finish up here love?" I nodded. When the downstairs kitchen was finally all squared away I met the girls upstairs. Sophia was drying and brushing Daisy's hair. I just watched them talk and every now and them Daisy would wince at the brush being pulled through her golden brown hair. With her pajamas on and hair finished, Daisy ran over to bed. She dove underneath the blanket while Sophia tucked her in tight. "We all tucked in?" I asked checking the covers. Daisy yawned, batting her eyes to try and fight it. She nodded her head. "You want music tonight or no?" "Music!" Daisy answered right away. "Alexa play Daisy's night time mix for one hour." Sophia said. "Playing Daisy's night time mix from spotify for one hour." The music started from a list cultivated by Sophia and myself of songs we'd play for Daisy when she was a baby. It's good mix of a little of everything, but for the most part it's all pretty slow and gentle songs. "Good night Daisy we love you." Sophia and I sandwiched Daisy's face with kisses from each side. "Love you too..good night.." She said yawning again. I switched off the lights and close the door slightly. She doesn't like the door closed all the way since she can still see the night light in the hallway. It's not that she's afraid of the dark, but she just doesn't like complete darkness. Sophia and I closed our door behind us, falling into our bed. We were surprisingly tired for only eight thirty, but mission accomplished I think Daisy had run out all her excess energy form the past two weeks. I turned on netflix on our tv for just some noise while Sophia and I talked before drifting to sleep a few hours later.

anyway i can see why people didn’t watch it. i say skip everything and see how they are together. the skinnier one is not as good w like idk. being seductive? but he’s fun to watch lol. together they are nice. i really enjoyed watching their dynamic.

some of the kissing was a lot but not in a bad way. i think if they had a deeper connection i would feel it more. but i saw gifs of them and piqued my interest and i clicked(footnote 2)

this is what im talking abt...and this is where gmmtv will fail. but most bls. they’re CLEARLY worth something. they make money. the actors are a draw for others. i am not a thai citizen nor a thai teen so but i am assuming many get popular. this is because there’s a formula that is almost always stuck to. i am guessing that the channel is a public broadcast (not an HBO type) so there has to be more censorship

i LOVE seeing what countries with less production $ or a more current industry, (like in SEA tho ppl hav ebeen making revolutionary art foreverrrrrr don tforget there’s more than dramas) create. there’s less money and stuff and maybe the editing isnt good or a certain way the drama is shown is very particular and not always appealing. i am nigerian, i respect that shit. nollywood is that shit too.

and as people ge tmore $ for prods or more public support they get better (i cannot emphasize how MUCH BETTER SOUND HAS GOTTEN FOR THAI SHOWS OMG dramas in general but)

also like...u can tell that other dude wasn’t totally comfortable or they just didnt know each other enough. i don’t know. it was very much two guys standing next to each other now like kiss once. the reluctance to show like affection even in private settings is BONKERS TO ME. literally it’s like these men have the most sterile rships and that is suchhhh an issue in BLs, particularly the thai i guess.

Cherry walk

Usually i have fun little dreams where my brain does some fun self insertion fan fiction and good time are had by all but this one was kinda fucked up. Even I'm like, "what the fuck brain!" And my brain is like "idfk! Skcnrjxjndkaxjbdievfkd!!!" So this dream had Captain fucking American and Thor god of poptarts and great hair trying to hunt down and stop 'me' who was some super human type with shifting powers. No one knew what my powers where because i had a bunch but my main goal was to get this scientist who successfully cloned things to help me bring back my son. Who had been murdered in WW2, in my arms, while we where gunned down by Nazis. Yes, WW2, my dream self was fighting in WW2 against the Nazis as a spy type but i was eventually captured and with other female spys and prisoners i was forced to go on a "cherry walk",(BTW ive never heard this term before but my dream self knew and so did Cap) In the dream a Cherry walk is being tied to a truck or other mode of transportation and forced to run until you collapsed so you would be too tired to fight off the soldiers when they raped you because Nazis are lazy. To make it more fun for them sometimes the women would be forced to hold a small piece of fruit between their legs and promised to be left untouched if they could hold the fruit. No one could, but they would take bets on who could hold on to it the longest and torment the ones who couldn't saying they wanted to be raped because they dropped the cherry sooner than the others. So after my cherry walks and when they got bored with me i was thrown into one of the camps where some how i still grew a baby inside me. I wanted it to die, i cried and screamed at it wanting it out but when it finally came out, instead of dropping it down an empty well i fell in love with him. I loved my son and protected him the best i could until the day they lined us up to be gunned down, i tried to sheild my toddlers body with my own but the bullets passed through me, and the American soldier trying to add to protecting my boy. I remember death and waking up covered in dirt and blood still holding my child, i was dead, i had died, i remember the bullets ripping through my body but hours later i was up and screaming in a pile of dead bodies with my dead son in my arms. Its was night and the camp empty because the nazis moved on to run from the end of the war. Much of those years where a haze because i wandered around for weeks with my child, and became a ghost to some. I put my babies bones tiny coffin and went on a flying rampage to hunt down Nazis. I was able to smell the blood on them, in a sense i was much like a vampire, but not a traditional vampire. No garlic, or stakes in the heart could stop me. I had a reflection and could move in the sun unhindered. It was just bright AF. So back to modern times, I'm more than a bit crazy because of my obsession with my sons bones, and being killed in so many ways over the years. Kind of takes a toll mentally. Thor and Cap stop me from taking the scientists i need but they cant stop me from taking the things i need but while im hunting down what i need, the grown children and grandchildren of my victims (nazis) hunt me and find my babies coffin. Thor and Cap fight with me and when they take my prize i snarl and walk to the edge of a building and jump falling through a shadow and disappearing. Back in my lair i talk to my sons coffin about how excited i am that i will see him soon but go mad when i find its empty and find a note with a nazi style logo (the kids started their own group to avenge their parents, how cute and ironic) so i kinda go insane and this time come to Thor and Cap trying to ask for help but Thor reacts by attacking swinging his hammer at me because the last time we fought things got really rough. Like half a building falling on us rough, but i catch his hammer. Stopping his swing and snatching it away, he stumbles back in shock and Nat (who was called in) whispers too loud "Oh, shit." Im a bit of a mad mess, rambling in German, French and Spanish, crying and waving around Mjölnir like it was a paper fan. All the while the windows rattle and walls crack, Nat is desperately trying to translate but all she can really get from me is: "THEY took my son, they took his bones, my son, hes gone, he'll be scared, they will hurt him, the children of the fallen have taken my son!" Cap is slowly trying to approach me at this point hes shirtless and kind of still bloody from our last fight (thank you brain 😄) Hes trying to calm me but hes backing me into a corner unknowingly because Thor is also creeping up. I start panicking and screaming, Nat pushes back Thor and is trying to speak to me in German but scream and throw an accusing finger at her half asking half claiming 'Nazi' at her. She spoke Russian at me telling she was a spy long ago, and points to Steve saying American, Captain America. I stop flailing around and clawing at the wall's long enough to ask him why he didnt save us from the camps, (i dont remember the name of the place where this character died) where was he? I sobbed in french telling him about the American who died trying to sheild me and my son and he replies back in French that he was fighting a different side of the war, and was frozen by the time they started shutting down the camps. Thor looks confused but Nat looks impressed with Steve and he sits on the floor with crossed legs and i sit across from him as he calms me down speaking in French. Nat is quietly translating to Thor and the scientist and the scientist looks heart broken suddenly. Steve promises me that they will help me get back my son but asks my to sit while he talks with his team. They go over my potential threat but outside of scaring a bunch of people i didn't hurt anyone and i didnt destroy anything until they showed up. (My dream POV is of them talking and me in the background playing with the hammer getting bored and wandering off) The scientist sadly explains that i might go crazy again because with the age of the bones its unlikely or rather, impossible that he would be able to clone anything because the DNA has to be fresh. He claims that he would feel more comfortable if they befriended me and could keep me calm because my powers are spooky and im unpredictable. Their conversation is interrupted when they hear a man screaming followed by others screaming and the sounds of chaos. They run to the sounds and they find me standing over Bucky as he lay writhing on the floor with blood shooting from his arm stump and me holding whats left of his robot arm. I also have blood dripping from my mouth and i look to Steve and say in an eerily calm voice; "He was broken..." Bucky screams in pain on the floor but no one can move in to help, there seems to be a force feild around us. Steve is desperately trying to get to his friend but its Nat who sees whats actually happening. Bucky is in so much pain because hes regrowing his lost arm. Much like in the birth scene in Hellraiser its piece by piece and not baby arm to adult arm. Steve can only watch horrified as meat attached to bone and new skin grows in. I hold Bucky in my arms singing to him, as this new pink arm twitches and lays limp at his side but soon starts to move at his command. He calms as the pain dies down and Steve and the others are able to move in. Steve is in shock and Bucky is crying with joy as he touches his new arm. Nat looks at me and asks what i am, i say i dont know but i know what she wants to be. Reflexively her hand touches her lower belly for a less then half a second but its enough. So this team of a Russian spy, a super soldier, a super assassin and a god track down nazi descendants to help me get back the bones of my son. They set a trap for me not knowing i wasn't alone to some how take my immortality for themselves and become man kinds better or something, Steves eyes where rolling really hard because he was so sick of this master race crap. Some how these people got it in their head that my sons bones where the source of my power and thought they could control me or steal my power through them. They crushed up his bones into a powder all save for his skull and ingested it. Realizing what they had done i collapsed leaving the rest to fight off these stupid wanna be occultist as i had a melt down. They kept the wanna be nazis away from me until i spoke again "You took my son..." Steve was the first to notice this, the shadows moved out of sync with the people. Bucky looked nervous suddenly and the air became thick and heavy. Time seemed to slow down and my eyes glowed red, my fingers grew out long black claws and i started to look less human. Seems that my transformation was triggered by losing the one part of me that kept me human. My son, dead or not, was my humanity that kept whatever had brought me back from coming out completely. I rose from the ground floating above it roaring out in some unknown voice that i would not spare one drop of blood but also taking their souls as well. The leader of this group panicking grabbed Davids skull (my son) and tried to call power from it or control me with it, trying anything as his followers screamed around him and where pulled into the liquid like blackness that surrounded me like a tentacled monster. Steve and the others where trying to kinda protect the other nazi group members but also mostly trying to stay out of the way. I pulled the leader closer as he clawed terrified at the ground trying to save himself dropping Davids skull on the way and i leaned in super close to him and told him how much he looked like his father, the one who laughed as he gunned down sick and helpless people. This one didnt die laughing but screaming as we did years ago. Nat gets my attention calling out to me, shes holding Davids skull in her arms like you would craddle a child. She speaks calmly to me, saying its over, and David wants to go home. I let out a sad almost laughing sigh and say, he doesnt want anything, hes dead. The air gets less heavy, and i say it again that hes dead and he can never come back. This time Bucky speaks up, saying that i can still love him but i have to let him go and i dont have to be consumed by revenge any more. As they talk me down i lose my demon like appearance and float back down but still look very vampirish. I fall to my knees and cry taking the skull from Nat and she puts her arm around me and Bucky actually moves into the other side putting his new arm around me as well and holding my hand. I just cry. Steve also has the urge to comfort me but holds off and asks Thor if hes ever seen anything like that before. Thor is very silent and shakes his head no, heard stories maybe, but long ago. The dream jumps to us having a funeral for my David and a proper grave. Bucky is holding my right hand, fingers interlaced with mine, and on my left is Steve also holding my but hand palm to palm, Nat is between him and Thor holding both their hands the same way. I say he would like it here. My mannerisms seem more controlled and less manic and crazy as i was before. I say my final goodbye to David and walk away. She needles Thor leaning into him and wrapping her arm around his. Steve smirks and Bucky looks confused and looks at me wide eyed. The Heart Brings You Back || Staissac

Stassi: After her mother did her hair, Stassi got the rest she promised her mother she would get. But now, she was wide awake and was having a hard time getting back to sleep. She was anxious, she just wanted to see Isaac. She wanted to see him smile, to kiss him, to hear his heartbeat when she laid her head on his chest to fall asleep. She just needed to see him. She was almost comfy when she heard the door open and saw Isaac come through the door. "Hey baby," She said with a smile. Isaac: Jumping out of the shower, Isaac practically ran to his truck and sped out of the parking lot. The message Issac had recieved from Caterina had been a bit cryptic, and he didn't really know what to expect. All she had told him was to the hurry to the hospital, so thats what he did. He walked into the hospital. He opened the door to Stassi's room tenatively unsure what he would find on the other side. When he saw Stassi awake and smiling. He took a step back and sank down against the wall breathing out a sigh of relief as tears of joy went over his eyes.

Stassi: Seeing Isaac take a step back and sink to the floor, Stassi frowned. She just wanted to touch him, kiss him, and see him smile. Throwing the blankets back, she fought against the pain that was shooting through her body and climbed out of her bed. She made her way over towards Isaac and kneeled down in front of him, placing her hands on his cheeks, wiping his tears away. "Hey, it's okay. Don't cry. I'm okay," She kissed his lips softly and pulled away, "I'm sorry." She said softly. Isaac: His mind had barely registered what happened before she was next to him. He wrapped his arms around her, like he never wanted to let her go. "I thought I lost you Stass." His words were simple, but he knew they were enough. He stood up, gently helping her back to the bed before scooting in next to her. "I don't know what I would have done if I lost you." Stassi: She smiled feeling his arms around her. She shook her head, looking up at him. "I told you always and forever. I'm not going anywhere, okay? I'm never leaving you." Once back in her bed, she smiled as he scooted in next to her and laid her head on his chest. "You would have put a smile on your face and live your life, because I'd want you to. But you will never have to worry about losing me. You are my world. I am never going anywhere," She flashed a weak smile and took his hand, lacing their fingers together. Isaac: "Dont ever do anything like this to me again." He said, not in a rude way, just emphasizing that if it happened again he might not make it. "I don't think I could have. I don't know if you understand Stassi." He sighed, "I'm a broken guy, I've lost everyone important to me, and I've been through more in 19 years than most people go through in a lifetime. My heart is being held together by band aids, and those bandages? That's you. Without you everything falls apart again, and I don't have the strength to put it together again." Stassi: "I won't, I'm sorry." She didn't like seeing Isaac this upset and knowing it was because of her. She frowned tilting her head to the side. "Baby.." Her voice trailed off as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I promise I'm not going anywhere. You have been through so much and it breaks my heart because no one should have to go through that. I wish that I could take your pain away. You will never, ever be without me, I promise you. Your heart will stay intact. You are my heart, my soul, my love,my everything." She looked down for a minute then back up at him. "I wanna marry you." Isaac: He wanted to ask her why she got into the car with her sister in the first place, but at the same time, he knew he would have time for that another day. Right now, he just wanted to hold Stassi and be with her in the moment. "I want to marry you too. You're the only person I would ever spend my life with. I want to grow old and have beautiful babies, and sit on a porch drinking lemonade with you into early retirement. But give me a chance to make this a little more romantic okay?" He smiled, the first time he had smiled since he first found out she was in the hospital. Stassi: "Babies, huh? How's my were you thinking? Our first son has to be named Camden of course." She looked up at with a smile. Her smile widened when she saw his smile. "Make what more romantic?," She asked raising an eyebrow. She bit her lip as she thought for a moment. "What would you say to moving into the guest house at my mom's?," She asked softly. "I know you don't want to leave your friends but it would be fun. We could make one of the spare room or the basement your man cave, and you can invite them over and play games or that can be where you go when you get sick of seeing my face. I don't know. I mean, it would be nice because we wouldn't have to worry about anyone barging in when we want to be alone and yeah.." She allowed her voice to trail off and shrugged her shoulders. She thought it would be nice for them, and the idea of it excited her. Isaac: A huge but almost sad smile spread across his face, "really? You would be okay with naming our first son Camden?" He of course had always hoped to name one of his future kids Camden, but he hadn't ever said anything about it to Stassi before. "I would love to have have 2 or 3 or 10 kids with you babe. A whole big family that's ours." When she raised an eyebrow to him he shrugged his shoulders like it was an obvious answer, "to ask you to marry me, of course." He mulled over the idea of moving into Stassi's guest house. He didn't want to be an inconvenience to Caterina, but he did like the idea. "I would, and it would definitely save on gas, but I wouldn't want to ask your mom to clean out her stuff in there or anything." Stassi: "Of course I would be. Why wouldn't I be okay with that?," She asked with a smile. Her smile widened as he mentioned them having a big family. "I'd love that. A big family. I've always wanted a big family," She moved around to get comfortable as pain surged through her. She knew she should probably take her pain meds but she didn't want to right now. They made her sleepy and she didn't want to fall asleep on him. She laughed, "I knew what you were talking about I just wanted to hear you say it. We both know what my answer will be but asking is romantic." She kissed him deeply when he said he would move into the guest house. "She doesn't have anything there.There's nothing there except the furniture Daddy bought. It was my sister's then she moved out with her boyfriend and Daddy changed the locks." She kissed him again, "How's Maxie?" Isaac: He smiled back at her shrugging his shoulders at her question, "I don't know, I just didn't even know you remembered what his name was." He wrapped an arm around her gently so he didn't hurt her more than she already was. "Me too. Most of my life it's been just me, or me and my brother. I want to have enough kids so if something happens with one of us they can rely on each other. " he knew that his kids would never have parents like his dad, but he couldn't guarantee something wouldn't happen like it did with his mom. " alright then once we get you out of here, Maxie and I will move into the guest house. Maxie is doing great. He misses you though. He sleeps on your side of the bed." Stassi: "He's your brother. I remember everything you tell me," She shrugged her shoulders and smiled. She smiled feeling his arm around her. It was funny how with just one movement he could make her feel so safe. She smiled, nodding her head. "I know what you mean." She frowned biting her lower lip. Though it was a part of life, the idea of something happening to Isaac scared her. She looked down for minute then back up at him, "I've almost lost you twice. That's two times too many. I couldn't handle actually losing you. Because just thinking I had destroyed me." She said softly. She smiled, "I can't wait. I wish dogs were allowed up here. I miss him too." Isaac: "Then it's settled." He said with a smirk, "we will just have to die together in each others arms like those old people in the notebook." He knew it was a little corny, and that he couldn't exactly promise when they would die, life tended to be unexpected at times, but it sure sounded like a good way to go to him. He gently kissed her temple, "yeah I wish they did too, but I know my roommates are taking good care of him, probably feeding him lots of good treats and stuff." He laid there silent for a few minutes before exhaling a deep breath letting himself finally relax. "I guess when I leave here I should start packing my stuff, I mean I don't have much, but still." Stassi: She smiled nodding, "Dying together sounds great." She knew better than to think that something like that could happen. She smiled when he kissed her temple. She was safe. "Have I ever told you how safe I feel when I'm with you," She asked softly. She smiled, nodding her head. "Good. I'm not so worried about him since he's in good hands." She reached over taking a couple of her pain meds then cuddled back into him and nodded her head. "Yes you should, and move it into our house and yeah..." Her voice trailed off as she closed her eyes then opened them. "And move in Maxie's stuff too. Please don't leave yet," She spoke softly, her eyes closing. Isaac: He liked knowing that he made Stassi feel safe. It was a relief that he wasn't only dependent on Stassi, but she too was dependent on him. "Have I ever told you I feel safest when you are right here in my arms?" He questioned back rhetorically. Isaac watched as she swallowed her pain meds, hoping that holding her like this wasn't causing her any pain. He could tell she was getting sleepy, so he kissed the top of her head again saying "Shhhh, go to sleep love. I'm not going anywhere."

little restaurant in town

he was just 10 yo when life handed him a little more than any 10yo could handle. loved and cherished by his parents, he was the treasure in their eyes. being the only child, ron was a quiet and timid boy. He was okay with being alone, but he also get along with the other kids. although he’s only 10, he’s got more kindness and genorisity than any human could possiply posses their whole life. 

His parents owns a successful noodle restaurant, they live a pretty comfortable life. Thanks to his mom’s recipe the restaurant picked up the moment it started after his birth. Ron was always around his mom in the kitchen, helping her mixing the the flour for their noodles. Or at least to him, he was helping out. But to his mom, he was a hazard waiting to happen. She love his company regardless. His father takes care of the business aspect of the restaurant and deals with customers. Ron was more like his mom, preferred to be alone most times. 

His happiness didn’t last too long, after his 10th birthday, was the last that he was able to celebrate with his parents. One busy lunch time at the restaurant a customer was complaining about his food and services. Ron remember hearing arguments and screaming in the back, he was scared so he stayed pretty close to his mom. the fight lasted for about 20mins and then the whole restaurant fell into a complete silence. Next thing he remembered was the cops coming and took his father away. His father has hurt a man out of rage. He was at fault b/c he was the first one to struck the man. The judge ruled in the man’s favor. Ron was told he could no longer see his dad until he turns 18. He knew then, his dad must have really hurt that man. he was mad at his dad. why couldn’t his dad just control himself, then non of this would have happened. it was all his father’s fault that his mom grew frail by the days. They sold the restaurant to help with his father’s legal fees. His mom has to run north and south to take care of everything. His mom would have given up her life to help his dad. Regardless of what happened, one thing that will never change is their love for ea. other. Even at just 10yo, ron could see that every clearly. he was once jealous that his parents might love ea. other more than they love him, but his mom assure him that was not the case. It doesn’t matter anymore, his mom can’t see his dad anymore. and she was sad. 

a year or so after his father was taken away, his mom was re-hired by their restaurant to be their cook. W/o his mom’s recipe the business was not doing well, ppl were their for his mom’s bowl of noodles. It was something she would never sale, she wanted to give it to her future daughter in law. However the new owner was ruthless business ppl that treated their employees more like slaves then anything else. his mom was working 12+ hrs a day, with barely enough pay to keep the rent. She grew weaker and weaker day after day. There wasnt much laughter in the house anymore. just two ppl trying their best to survive. a few days before ron’s 11th birthday, his mom sat him down to have the hardest talk of their life. 

She can see that he’s was on the verge of being malnourish. Her son was not like other healthy kids. Ron was always tired and sleepy w/little to no energy to do anything. And she could not afford to send him to school anymore.... She got on her knees and started crying in front of him. She had to give him up so that he could have a better life. she was not capable of taking care of him anymore. She said once he get to the orphanage, there might be better suited parents that might want to adopt him. And he should go with them for a better life. Ron didn’t say anything. He didn’t cry. He did what he was told. he felt like he was a uneccessary baggage that his mom has to carry. it would be easier for her if he wasn’t around. And so he quietly started his new life at the orphanage. 

he celebrated his 11th birthday with a bunch of kids he didnt know. Ron isolated himself now more than ever. Ron was a small orphanage on the outskirt of town. The place was run by sister Kesson, she was a kind nun but with a stern personality. rules are rules and are not ment to be broken. That didn’t bother Ron all that much, he doesn’t do much anyways. He just did as he was told. 

2 years later, Ron is now the oldest kid at the orphanage. Kids comes and goes through the orphanage, but he stayed. There were a few nice couples that wanted to adopt him, but he didn’t wanna go with them. He wasn’t really waiting for his mom to come back either, he didn’t want to be a baggage to her or anyone else. He thought his parents would just toss him away once things gets hard, b/c he was disposable. Plus the orphanage needed him. Sister Kesson was already in her late 60s and she was running the place by herself. She didn’t complain much, or ask for anyone’s help. In a way, they were pretty similar. He liked that he feels peaceful around her but most importantly he felt needed. Ron helps take care of the younger ones, he became way too mature for his age, and he was okay with that. Ron was the older brother to everyone at the orphanage, he was the handy man when things goes broken, and he was the a shoulder everyone could lean on. 

After ron turned 16 he is now old enough to get a part time job. He wanted to go into town, he wanted to see how his mom is doing. But only from afar. What if she doesn’t want to see him, but would she recognize him? maybe he can just be in the background watching her. That would be enough for him. But he also need money to help sister Kesson, the orphanage relies heavily on donation but for the past couple of years it wasn’t sustainable. More ppl are donating to the bigger orphanage so that they could be reconized by the media as humanitarium. The media doens’t really go into the outskirt of town to cover any stories. Sister Kesson agrees to let him get a part time job, as long as his grades doesn’t suffer. 

Ron took the bus and went straight to his parents restaurant. He sat down for a bowl of noodles. His mom still works here... holding back his tears, Ron finished his bowl of noodles, he wanted so badly to see her. But what justification does he have to visit her? Ron doesn’t want to make his mom cry like she did years ago. he decided to start his job hunting... As he was walking out the doors, a flyer caught his eyes. they’re hiring. he applied. 

Ron started working the next day. The pay is minimum wage, there’s regulation now, the owner can’t risk being looked into by the IRS. It only took but 5mins at his new job, to see his mom again. She’s aged, but still as beautiful as ever. he debated if he should walk up to her or not. NO. he already decided to keep his distance. She was focus on her task, not once did she took her eyes off what she was doing. That works out. 

Its been two months, and she didn’t hasn’t notice her son, who comes in and out of the kitchen to bring food out.. It was around 10pm one night, and she was on her way out heading home when the owner asked if she can take the trash out with her before she leaves and lock up. Ron was in the restroom, when he headed out the whole place was dark. They must have thought everyone was gone. He headed to the back door to leave, and saw that his mom as struggling to pull the big bag of trash that was almost her size. Without hesitation, ron reached for the bag to help her. their eyes meet. Instantly her eyes were filled with tears. Hot burning tears. 

He’s failed. Once again, he mad his mom cry. 

‘im sorry’ -he said. 

His mom was confused. What does he have to be sorry for? she was the one abandoning him! 

‘im not here to be a burden. Its just a part time job. But if you dont want to see me, i can quit’ 

A burden?! has he been thinking this all these years? thats whys he left him at the orphanage? more tears roll down her cheeks. and she fell to the ground. her body numbed. her poor son. her ron. all these years he quietly stayed at the orphanage b/c he didn’t want to be her burden. 

‘my son, you are not a burden to him. you never were. i dont think i could have go on w/o knowing that one day we will be reunited. I wasn’t financially capable of taking care of you. And rather than having the states take you away from me, i wanted to put you with Sister Kesson, at least then when i come back for you, even if you are adopted she could tell me which nice couple became your parents. At least then i could find you. you are NOT my burden. you’re the best thing that happened to me and your father.’ 

Hot tears starts to roll down his cheeks now. 

‘then why didn’t you ask me to wait for you to come back. you wanted me to go with other ppl and be their kids. you didn’t want to be my mother anymore. and didn’t want anything to do with me!’ 

as those words come out his mouth, all the years of resentment and sadness could be heard behind those words. no mater now mature and understanding ron is. He was scarred, and its going to take a long time for him forgive his mom. he was mad. and he needed someone to take the anger out on. His mom could see that. she nodded. 

‘yes, be mad at me. as long as you’re healthy. Im okay with it. will you catch me up with your life? we haven’t seen each other for six years.’ 

‘no. do you still want me to quit? if i make you uncomforable 

-work with mom. she’ll get sick. and dies. 

-becomes sucessful, fund the orphanage, buy the resturant, run both places. 

-real interests in writing, and it looks like to can leave the business to his friend (childhood friend at the orphange) to travel and write

-reunite with father. who comes by the resturant to see how its doing. did some reaseach on his son. and understand the story

-business and everything was looking good. but the orphanage was being threaten to be demolish. sister kessson is stressing out and dont know what to do. turns out the land belongs to the gov. which  was sold under the table for some politician personal gain. 

-to save the orphanage ron has to give up his parents restaurant. and join corporate
