The character we are introducing today is the undefeated Champion Duelist of the Court of Fontaine, Clorinde.

She is the instrument of Fontaine's law, and will defend justice in the Court of Fontaine with the blade she wields.

As the cabin came into view again, Goldie couldn’t stop thinking about how this had to be the coldest night they’d had in weeks and her feathers were turning into little icicles. With the small amount of sunlight left, she could see her breath on every exhale. It was so cold she was getting exhausted much faster than she should’ve and Goldie knew she’d be sick in the morning...if she made it there at all.

May I present...the Ice Queen of Dawson. ❄️

This has been a long time coming, but I finally finished this set of three drawings last week that I've been wanting to draw for the longest time for @lettheladylead's running in circles (the above drawing specifically comes from chapter 4 - it's the exact moment that Goldie sees the cabin again on the way back from trying to get back to Dawson). (Will also say that these are a very happy belated birthday gift to you! :D)

There were a few moments from the Klondike chapters that weren't necessarily major story moments, but the descriptions of them (and especially of the environments/lighting) caught my eye and my heart, and made me want to highlight the beauty of the Klondike, and so here we are.

For this scene in particular, her walk back to the cabin, I got a very vivid image of it while reading it, a sort of tragic twist on a "winter wonderland" and on Goldie looking all icy-pretty, and the angst of the Ice Queen naturally came in to play.

Will post the other two drawings over the next two days - up next: a king in the morning light.

Day 1 of trying hiding from my Mutuals (I’m a borrower for context)

I would be a TERRIBLE borrower if I was on my own. I’d freak out from anything or just be intimidated by anything big, and worst of all I couldn’t borrow anything without leaving a trace. I would always leave some kind of trail, also I’m afraid of heights-

i used to freehand comics all the time as a child and since the part i liked was the drawing part i would just draw panel after panel because i didn't want to stop drawing to think about icky icky words, plus the story TOTALLY still made perfect sense! to me! and noone else, but 'whoooo caaaaares omgggg its not like comics and sequantial art are a communicative meeediummmm lmaoooooo'. i spent my entire childhood telling myself stuff like "oh pfft I know this story by heart- ill SIMPLY remember the dialogue and write it later" ...and. I can't help but admire baby maiora's (call that a minora ba tm tsk) fucking audacity? hubris? confident wrongness? kid couldn't even remember to finish the comics in the first place? INCREDIBLE levels of unearned self assurance, wish that were me, genuinely- what an icon!!! anyway i think i have forever cursed myself

What about reader x Fred where reader is mad for him but doesn’t want to do anything to ruin what they already have (doesn’t help that he jokingly flirts) and she kind has her hopes up but then Fred goes out with someone else and now she’ll never be able to do anything because Fred’s happy and in love with someone who will never be her

So fast forward to war times, Fred hands her a letter before the war and is like if I die, read this please and reader is like “you’re getting this back”

But then he dies and it’s big sad and the end is her reading the letter where he confesses that he loved her but didn’t think she’d feel the same so he tried to move on :)

How’s that for angst? I say with hope as I’d thought about it in two mins

It's not so much getting something written that's a problem, its the getting something finished that is my perpetual struggle. Anyway, here's wonderwall a snippet of my next in lieu of an actual finished fic, which I'll post once I get my shit together.

“I haven't found you slacking off, have I?”

“Have you ever known me to slack off?” By the quirk of her eyebrow, Tim knew Anne was teasing, but he had to admit she wasn't far off the mark. His dedicated work ethic was one thing that could never be questioned, but even he had to admit that since setting sail just over a week ago, the yacht’s logs had taken somewhat of a back seat - other than their careful following of the pre-planned route to Vatersay and few hastily scribbled notes here and there. It certainly wasn’t up to his usual standards, but tearing himself away from his beautiful wife to face maps and weather reports usually proved to be an almost impossible task, even for the diligent sailor. To be so drawn to someone, to have your heart and mind filled with an unwavering love for them at every moment was something Tim had thought he would never really understand - but here he was, finding himself wholeheadtedly blindsided by Anne at every turn.

She had almost succeeded at tempting him away from his task the moment she climbed the yacht's little swim ladder. He had insisted she warm up as best she could in the small but functional onboard shower, but Anne protested, saying that she didn't want to waste the water or fuel - especially not when there were plenty of ways in which her handsome husband could warm her up instead. Stealing soft kisses as she pulled him irresistibly close, her cool hands roaming his body, it had taken every ounce of Tim’s self-discipline not to take her in his arms against the helm right then and there. Somehow, despite the disappointment in Anne’s eyes, he managed to begrudgingly decline, promising to very much make it up to her later when the stack of papers niggling in his mind was dealt with. A stack which, he hated to admit, hadn't lessened any over the last few hours due to him spending the entire time Anne was in the water thinking more about the way her swimsuit hugged her curves than doing anything useful. 

As the image surfaced in his thoughts again, Tim shook his head, drawing a line through his last mistake-laden sentence.

God almighty man, focus.
