Her fingertips feel like sunlight. Trailed along his face he lays still as she traces his nose, lips, eyebrows, and chin. It never leaves him. The unbearable weight that he left them – that he abandoned his family; even if it wasn't his choice to do so.  He can hear his mothers sobs echo around his head like she sits in the room beside them, the heart shattering wail something that makes his still heart seize. He won't speak about it though, he never wants to. Rose had tried several times through the years to coax this confession out of his lips, to soothe whatever restless ache seared beneath his ribs. Emmett couldn’t admit that he was afraid; afraid that if he spoke of it – released his burden and pain that he would empty his wound and it would close. He didn’t want to forget so he clutched the pain to him, like a leech he let it feed off him with no intentions of removing the very thing that wounded him. 

She is capable of reaching through that brackish water and dragging him out of it, of ridding him of the black sludge that clung to his heart and mind. Tucked away in their room they rest together, she’d found him this way. Stretched across their bed with his honey colored eyes gazing at the ceiling. He isn't exactly sure when she slipped between him and the bed and rested his head in her lap, but now he stared up at her lovely face. Her question was soft at first, ❛ what's the matter? ❜ and without a second thought he’d force a smile to her. Lips curled in their corners as he tried to force his eyes to match the motion, his voice soft in response. “ I’m fine. “ There isn't an audible sigh from her chest but he can see it lift and fall, gaze averting her own as she speaks even softer to him. ❛ i know you better than you know yourself. ❜

Emmett's eyes shut as he truly does smile, the warmth returning to his voice. " I know. I'll be fine, I promise. "

if she's being honest with herself, rosalie doesn't always try as hard as she could with bella. most of the time the most offensive things about her are her outfits. every so often, though, she hits a nerve that should've healed by now, but it still feels raw and angry every time it's poked. after all, what is time to an immortal being? she can grieve for centuries, if she so chooses, and still have centuries more to spare. so when bella proclaims how she longs to cut her human life so tragically short, rosalie can't help but seethe.

she doesn't hear alice approach until alice speaks her name. rosalie turns to face her surrogate sister. it's been a while, and she's suitably cooled off from her previous encounter (if you ask her, she was gentle with edward's little lamb), but something about alice's tone brings it all right back. her expression softens momentarily. "i'm sorry. i shouldn't have snapped at you," rosalie says. she casts her gaze away from alice momentarily. "but i'm so tired of everyone indulging her fantasies, alice. it's foolish. no matter what you've seen."

There is always an air of tenderness she offers Rosalie. Something that evokes itself from deep in her chest and the pit of her stomach, coiling up and out of her nostrils like smoke. Though it fights alongside the piece of her heart that has eagerly opened itself to Bella, both snap their jaws at each other desiring blood and victory – and standing there silently wide dark eyes watching them both she must find a balance. Lips turn downward at Rosalie’s blatant dismissal of Bella, but she doesn't speak, simply nods as the blonde turns on her heel and leaves with a decided step. A weak smile is offered to Bella, something drenched at its corners with a tinge of sadness. She’d hoped for better, yearned for it in truth. “ Don’t read too much into it, she’s nice when she can be. “ A hand comes to reach for Bella’s wrist before dragging her out the door, spirits forcing themselves high again.

The evening had finally settled in. Leaving the household rather still and silent in its wake, Emmett and Jasper were off in the woods. Carlisle and Esme to themselves all while Edward had taken Bella out of Alice’s hands not too long ago. She weaves her way through the house, feet bare and silent as she comes to the garage with dull gold eyes. “ Rose? “ There is a silent question there, are you okay? Alice would never be able to deny the worry she bore for the others, or how easily it slipped into her words.

Status Update + My Return to ORV

Hello y'all! Despite my total radio silence here on Tumblr over... who knows how long, I'm doing just fine! I was on a writing hiatus for 6 months or so, and I also transitioned from grad school to industry (writing a master's thesis, defending it, graduating, moving across the country, a job search, so many interviews, finally getting a new job, moving across the country again, and settling into my new role).

In the past few months, I returned to the Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint and Scum Villain's Self Saving System fandoms (old faves of mine, but I was only ever a reader until recently). For those of you following my Winter Light Verse (still planning the continuation of that one out, and I hope to finally break the series hiatus earlier next year!), those two fandoms had a massive influence on my Verse. Especially in the case of ORV - so it feels like I'm finally moving back, however slowly. I'm excited to continue being active in all of those fandoms (along with S-Classes, which I recently ran into and love!)

As for what I'm doing right now? I took on the Froday Flash Fiction Challenge for December, where we're given a new prompt each day and I have the 24 hours to write for the prompt. I'm writing the work, Ad Astra Per Aspera and have actually kept up with the 600 words per day so far, which is a shocker for me. This fic is compatible with another fic I recently started, My Shining Star, My Guiding Light. Both of these fics are for the Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint fandom.

For those of you unfamiliar, the Winter Light Verse is my total rewrite and rebuild of the Twilight Saga, infused with Eastern themes and made very gay. The central ship of that series is Carlisle Cullen/Beau Swan, but there are several other pairs and characters that really bring the world out. Also, I had the realization the other day that I was basically writing a danmei novel with all the tropes, so that was a bit amusing. The main work is Apricity, and all of the other works in this series are either side stories or AU/spin-offs of some kind.

After Renee marries Phil and ropes Beau into family life, Beau moves to Forks, a town with a mystical aura. As Beau settles in, he gets closer to his father Charlie, his new friends, and the mysterious Cullens. After an accident lands Beau in the hospital where he meets the oldest Cullen sibling Carlisle, he begins to feel a strange draw to the man, notes an intricate mark, and knows for certain that something unnatural is afoot. A Twilight/Life and Death rewrite that starts on a similar premise, diverges very quickly, takes place in an entirely different world, leans more deeply into traditional/dark-erotic vampire themes, centers around an Eastern framework, and is very gay.

As for my current projects, both are for the Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint fandom and are compatible with each other. Both fics are both Joongdok (Yoo Joonghyuk/Kim Dokja) and Plotja (Secretive Plotter/Kim Dokja), but at the same time, they are written as the same person (I swear it makes sense!). Ad Astra is my current daily project, and I am slowly working through the next chapter on Star/Light as the logistics of my still-chaotic IRL situation settle a bit.

“Call Me”//Rosalie Hale x Female Fairy!reader

The fairy Queen finds out a vampire crossed onto her territory. She’s not happy about it and goes to the Cullens to talk about it. Y/n comes with the Queen and Rosalie is absolutely enamoured by her.

Finally, a good one. She had found a horror movie based on ghosts instead. As she settled herself on the couch getting ready to watch the movie Carlisle came into the living room with a frown on his face.

“Everybody needs to get ready to leave.” He said as he came through the living room and walked into the kitchen where most of the family was.

“Why?” Asked Bella shoving a buttered bagel in her mouth.

“Because,” Carlisle said irritation clear in his voice “the fairies have complaints about us and want to meet up to discuss them.”

“Oh cool! We get to see the fairies again!” Emmet said excitedly with a wink towards Bella.

“We will not be going to flirt with them or ask them out.” Carlisle said crossly as he stared at Emmet. Emmet seemed to deflate at his words. “Okay, come on everyone.” He said waving his hand in a ‘follow me’ motion as he walked over to the front door. Everyone got up and followed him as he walked out the door.

Why would the fairies complain about us? We haven’t done anything.

The place the fairies wanted to meet up was far. So both cars had to be taken, and even then it was crowded.

After a while the car stopped and everyone tried not to trip on each other as they climbed out of the car.

As Rosalie got out she saw that the had stopped in a wide flat field. The grass below then was a beautiful vivid green just like the trees.

A small flash of movement caught her eye. She squinted into the distance and saw tiny gold specks floating through the air coming towards her. As they got closer she saw that they were the fairies. When they got close enough the specks dropped downwards and suddenly there they were. All the fairies the same size as as the vampires standing in front of them. The fairy in the middle was most definitely the leader. On the top of her head was a gold crown and hanging off of it were what looked like gold thread with silver beads on them. As her head moved to look at each of them, the gold looking thread on her crown swung back and forth as if moved by a small breeze. Her outfit was a blinding white that went from her neck to the ground. Her hair was a golden blonde and her eyes were a light grey. Suddenly she cleared her throat.

“I am Lira, the Queen of Fairies. With me are my immediate army. I hope I won’t have to use them.” Said nodding her head to Carlisle. “On my right is Omi. He’s is my first in command. And on my left is Y/n my second in command.” She pointed towards them as she said this. “Treat them the way you would treat me. If you don’t you will find that I will not be as kind as I am now.” She said narrowing her eyes and each of them.

Rosalie had not looked away from Y/n since the Queen had said her name. She hadn’t noticed her before, but now that she had she could move her gaze anywhere else. She was gorgeous. All the fairies were gorgeous. With their fair skin and bright eyes. Their smoothness when they walked. The kindness and the allurement in their voice. They’re beauty rivalled any vampires. But this girl stood out to Rosalie. She couldn’t say why, she looked no different then the rest of the fairies, yet Rosalie was sure she was the prettiest.

Rosalie saw from the corner of her eye as Carlisle walked up toward the Fairy Queen and bowed. “It has come to my attention that one of your people crossed onto our territory.” Said the Queens voice loudly. The shock of what she just said forced Rosalie’s eyes away from Y/n. None of us crossed her territory. What is she talking about? She looked around amongst her family to see if any of them knew what the Queen was talking about, but they all seemed just as confused as her.

“When did they cross into your territory?” Carlo asked, as civil as ever. “Two days ago, late in the afternoon.” The Queen responded. Carlisle turned towards us and asked “Were any of you out two days ago in the afternoon?” Suddenly Emmet looked a little nervous. “I was out two days ago. I went in the afternoon to meet up with a acquaintance for a school project.” He said looking down at his feet in embarrassment. Rosalie was sure that if they still had blood in their bodies he would have been blushing from head to toe right now. “When I was walking to their house where we said we would meet up I got a bit lost. I must have accidentally walked a bit in their territory and not realized.” He finished with a shrug.

Rosalie watched as the Queen rolled her eyes and took a step towards Carlisle. “Let us talk about his punishment over here.” She said to a spot out of hearing distance from both groups of people. “Punishment?” Carlisle ask the Queen who had already started walking away, seeming taken aback. The Queen sighed and turned back around “Yes. Punishment.” She spoke to him as though he were an idiot and began walking away again.

Carlisle turned towards us, his body appearing a bit stiff with barely controlled irritation, you could tell he was trying his hardest not to let it slip how unimpressed he was with the Queen. “I’ll be right back.” He said to us then followed the Queen.

“Why on earth would she punish you?” Asked Alice to Emmet. “You said it was an accident. Shouldn’t that be enough.” Emmet shrugged again clearly not sure what to think of this.

“If she does punish you, I’ll make her wish she hadn’t.” Edward said lowly as he glared holes into the Queen’s head. Emmet let out a breathy laugh “Thanks Edward.”

Rosalie quickly became bored as they waited for the Queen and Carlisle to come back. She had been watching Emmet and the others argue about how unfair the Queen was, when she remembered about Y/n. Almost as soon as she remembered her her gaze snapped up to the second group of people standing across from them. She scanned the group looking for Y/n and found her talking quietly with the first in command.

Soon after the two broke apart and wonder away from each other. Y/n looked up and met eyes with Rosalie. Rosalie was embarrassed at being caught staring and wanted to look away but couldn’t. Something about the way Y/n was looking at her made her hold her gaze. She watched as the corners of Y/n’s lips quirked upwards. She suddenly began making her way over to Rosalie.

Rosalie looked around slightly panicked by the idea of the beautiful fairy coming near her, and before she knew it the fairy was infringe of her holding out her hand. “Hi, I’m Y/n.” She said softly. Her voice rapped around Rosalie’s head like a pretty song played on the piano. It was warm and welcoming. “Hi.” Rosalie responded shacking Y/n’a hand. “What’s your name?” Y/n asked and Rosalie realized she’d forgotten to tell her what her name was. She mentally slapped her hand to her face. Stupid! Why didn’t you say your name? Now you look like you don’t want to talk, you idiot! “I’m Rosalie.” She said and felt a bit of pride as Y/n smiled at her.

When the let go of each other’s hands Y/n moved behind her to sit down on a fallen log. Rosalie followed setting herself down beside her.

They sat in silence for a moment and then Y/n spoke. “So what do think?” She said looking onward towards the field. “What do you mean?” Rosalie asked absolutely puzzled. “I mean, what do think of the view?” She said with a giggle. “I think it’s amazing.” Rosalie responded but she wasn’t looking at the field. Her eyes were still on Y/n. Y/n, still looking forward said “I know you’re still looking at me, you know that right?” She turned towards Rosalie with a smirk on her lips. Rosalie quickly looked away. “Awe. Don’t get shy. I like that you think I’m.. what did you say ‘amazing’” Y/n teased, her smirk turning into a cheeky smile. Rosalie slowly turned back around and her breath was taken away. They were so close. Y/n was only inches away from her. She watched as Y/n’s eyes went downwards towards her lips.

Rosalie opened her mouth to speak when a voice cut through the air. “Y/n! We have come to an agreement and are now leaving!” Rosalie groaned as she recognized the voice of the Queen. Y/n smiled at that. She went to get up then turned back around. “Hold out your arm.” She said to Rosalie. Rosalie quirked an eyebrow at her but did as she was told. Y/n then reached down and touched Rosalie’s leg and her fingers trailed over her as she moved her fingers to Rosalie’s jean pocket, causing Rosalie to shiver. She reached into the pocket and pulled out a pen Rosalie always carries around with her. She popped off the lid and placed her left hand on Rosalie’s arm. Her hand was warm against Rosalie’s cold skin. Then with her right hand she began to write an her arm. Rosalie looked down to see what she was writing. Her eyes widened as she realized Y/n had written her phone number there. When she was finished Y/n placed the pen in Rosalie’s hand and leaned over. “Call me.” She whispered in her ear then walked over to the Queen. She winked at her before suddenly they all turned into small gold ball of light once more and flew away.

Rosalie sat there stunned for a minute, not sure what to make of what just happened. Then she met eyes with Alice, who was smirking at her knowingly. Alice skipped over to Rosalie then said laughed quietly “You’ve got a crush! You’ve got a crush?” Rosalie glared at her “Oh shut up!” She yelled and chucked a loss piece of the log she had been sitting on at Alice. Alice giggled as she easily avoided getting hit with the piece of log and skipped her way back over to everyone else. Rosalie got up and slowly began to walk back over to them, but couldn’t help but smile as she thought about a certain fairy called Y/n.

"And just who the fuck are you to think that you can talk to me like that, you-" Rosalie's face contorts with disgust as she audibly gags, "-you repulsive mutt!"

Behind her, even before the second she began to speak, Edward is at her side, almost putting himself in between as a barrier though it's not to shield Rosalie from harm, while Emmett's hands come to rest firmly on her shoulders.

"Let it go, Rose," Edward warns, but the blonde vampire's fiery temper had been itched. "Absolutely fucking not," she repeats to her brother, outright mocking the other man.
