I just got back from a convention and now I'm wondering if any hzd fanartists on here sell merch? There's rarely anything at conventions and when there is it's usually a hper-realistic redraw of a screenshot or promo art, so it's not really stuff I'm interested in. I prefer more original fanart, and I'm trying not to get so many prints because I just don't have space for them. That being said, do any fanartists make stickers/pins/keychains for horizon?

I always loved the towns and settlements in Horizon, so it shouldn't be a surprise that I took some time to photograph merchant stalls around the HZD. This is not a complete set, I'll take some more as I progress on the game :3

Oseram toy boar in HFW and in the Burning Shores *squeak* The top one is at the Daunt's cable car tower. The bottom one is from one of the Oseram camps in the dlc. It would have been cool to see children interact with those… maybe they do, i'll be on the lookout

I was Listening to music and playing HZD and then something hit me, Something sad. All of history was destroyed, Little to nothing was saved. Thanks to Faro. These people in the world will never know what we know. Everything is gone and it's not coming back.

They will never know the struggle for the land they live on, They will never know George Washington, The revolution, The civil war. They'll never know that humans have already been through the stage of civilization they're at, Hell they'll never know how old humans really are. They'll never know of Religion (As we know it), They'll never know of the heroes that saved the human species.

Let alone they'll never hear our music, Read our literature, Watch our media. if they were too it'd be hundreds of years of context to explain. They will never know the likes of Bach, Mozart. They won't know Shakespeare, Macbeth, Beuwolf. Literature we spent years holding precious. Gone. Music we hold dear. Gone. Places. Historical landmarks. Records. Gone. Nothing left

Quen Weapons

I love that the main Quen Melee weapon is basically a Macuahuitl, a Nahua weapon that was a club lined with obsidian blades somewhat like teeth. This version looks like it’s been constructed from parts of a snapmaw jaw and lined with the teeth. I love when Horizon puts a new spin on design templates from our world - it’s like the idea that, given the chance, we will figure out the same survival strategies because it’s in our nature.

It does make me wonder where the Quen are technologically- obviously the Focuses gave them a huge boost in terms of access to old world tech and data, but there’s not really a reason to have a weapon like this if you have widespread access to metal forging like say, the Oseram. Their armor seems to back this up - it’s almost entirely machine armor and woven materials. Based on what we’ve seen they’re clearly extremely skilled with textiles, woodworking and ceramics, and they have extremely powerful heavy weapons and ballistae. Maybe it’s just cheaper for the empire to outfit soldiers with weapons made from salvage.
