Silent Chains
Tumblr media
paring: non idol¡hyunjin x non idol¡felix
synopsis: Hyunjin has always been the calm, collected one, but beneath his calm exterior lies a dangerous obsession with Felix. As his feelings for Felix turn darker, Hyunjin uses his subtle tendencies to control Felix’s life, manipulating him into thinking no one else will love him the way Hyunjin does. The deeper felix falls into their twisted relationship, the harder it is to escape.
A/N: The song chains by Nick Jonas inspired me to write this. 😙
wc: 3.8k
Warnings: yandere, manipulation, secret cameras, heavy angst, faking death, mentions of cheating, obsession, stalking, possessiveness.

Hyunjin was always the calm, collected one. He was the type of person who never let his emotions get the best of him, no matter what the situation was. That was one of the things Felix loved about him. Hyunjin made Felix feel safe, like nothing could ever go wrong as long as Hyunjin was by his side. They seemed perfect together Hyunjin was caring, attentive, and always knew the right things to say.
In the beginning, their relationship felt like a dream. Hyunjin would tell Felix how much he meant to him, how special he was, how no one else could love him the way Hyunjin did. Felix believed him. He felt lucky to have someone like Hyunjin in his life. But what Felix didn’t realize was that those words, which seemed so sweet at first, were slowly starting to control him. Hyunjin’s subtle manipulations were like a web, wrapping around Felix’s life until he couldn’t see how tangled he’d become.
Hyunjin started to take control over small things like what Felix wore, who he hung out with, even what he posted on social media.
“I just want the best for you,” Hyunjin would say.
Felix believed him. Hyunjin always knew best. Whenever Felix tried to spend time with their friends without him, Hyunjin would make him feel guilty.
“No one cares about you the way I do,” Hyunjin would whisper.
Felix was oblivious to how possessive Hyunjin had become, but their friends noticed.
One day, Felix made a new friend named Han. Han was funny, outgoing, and the two of them hit it off right away. It felt refreshing for Felix to have someone new to talk to, someone who didn’t have the intensity that Hyunjin brought. Felix thought nothing of it. He was just happy to have a friend. But Hyunjin saw things differently.
The more time Felix spent with Han, the more distant Hyunjin became. He wouldn’t say anything at first, just watching, but Felix could feel the tension growing. Hyunjin started asking questions about Han, probing into every detail of their friendship.
“Are you sure you two are just friends?” Hyunjin would ask, his voice calm but his eyes sharp.
Felix laughed it off, insisting that nothing was going on between them, but Hyunjin didn’t believe him.
The more Hyunjin stewed in his jealousy, the darker his behavior became. He started flirting with Han, trying to get closer to him behind Felix’s back. At first, Han thought it was strange but harmless. But as Hyunjin’s advances became more obvious, Han realized what was happening. He told his boyfriend, Minho, about it, and Minho wasn’t pleased. Minho confronted Hyunjin, accusing him of trying to break up his relationship with Han. What followed was an ugly fight between Minho and Hyunjin, with Minho calling out Hyunjin for his obsession with Felix.
“You’re trying to keep Felix trapped!” Minho shouted during their confrontation.
“You don’t let him live his life. He’s not yours to control!”
Hyunjin’s calm exterior finally cracked, his rage spilling out. He tried to defend himself, but Minho’s words rang true. And that’s when Felix started to see it, how Hyunjin had been manipulating him all along. The things their friends had tried to tell him, the little moments that felt off, it all clicked into place. Hyunjin had been controlling every part of Felix’s life, making him believe that no one else would ever love him the way he did.
Felix decided he couldn’t do it anymore. He wanted out. When he told Hyunjin he wanted to break up, Hyunjin’s reaction wasn’t what he expected. Instead of sadness or anger, Hyunjin simply smiled… a cold, dangerous smile.
“You’re not going anywhere,” Hyunjin said, his voice steady.
“If you leave me, I’ll make sure your family pays for it.”
Felix’s heart dropped. He knew Hyunjin was serious. There was no bluff in his voice, no empty threats. Hyunjin knew everything about Felix’s family, and he had the resources to hurt them. Felix tried to argue, but Hyunjin cut him off.
“And don’t think I don’t know what you do in this house,” Hyunjin added. “I have cameras set up. I’ve been watching you.”
Felix was horrified. The house he had shared with Hyunjin, the place he thought was his home, was filled with secret cameras. Every move he made had been watched. Every conversation, every moment of privacy it was all under Hyunjin’s control.
Felix realized there was no easy way out. He was trapped, forced to stay with someone who had turned their love into something twisted and dangerous. But he wasn’t ready to give up. He reached out to Han in secret, telling him everything. Han was shocked but determined to help.
Together, Felix and Han came up with a plan. It was risky, but it was the only way Felix could escape. They decided to fake Felix’s death. It had to be convincing, something that would make Hyunjin believe Felix was gone for good.
The plan went into motion one day when Hyunjin was away. With Han’s help, Felix disappeared, leaving behind enough evidence to make it look like he was dead. He left no trace of where he was going, no clues for Hyunjin to follow. And with that, Felix started a new life, moving to the other side of the world under a different name.
Felix’s new life across the world was everything he could have hoped for. The days of walking on eggshells, always looking over his shoulder, were behind him. He settled in a quiet coastal town, far away from the chaos he had left behind. The first few weeks were strange. The absence of Hyunjin’s constant presence was both a relief and a source of anxiety. Felix was always waiting for something to go wrong, for Hyunjin to find him, but as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, he started to let his guard down.
The small town became his sanctuary. He rented a modest apartment near the beach, far removed from the cameras, the manipulation, and the fear that had plagued him. Every morning, he would walk along the shoreline, feeling the sun on his skin, the breeze in his hair. For the first time in years, Felix felt like he could breathe.
Han stayed in touch, sending Felix the occasional message to check in.
“He’s still looking for you,” Han would warn
but Felix felt secure in the distance that separated them. He had done everything to erase his past. His name was different, his appearance changed, he had even dyed his hair, cutting it short to make sure no one would recognize him. He had built an entirely new life, one that Hyunjin could never touch.
Yet, despite the peace, Felix couldn’t shake the lingering memories of Hyunjin. The nightmares came often. He’d dream of the cameras, of Hyunjin standing over him with that calm, menacing smile. In the dream, no matter how far Felix ran, Hyunjin was always there, watching him from the shadows. Felix would wake up in a cold sweat, his heart pounding. He’d remind himself that Hyunjin wasn’t there, that he was safe, but it didn’t always feel that way.
Sometimes, he would catch himself glancing at the corners of his new apartment, half-expecting to find a camera. Old habits, old fears they were hard to shake. But Felix reminded himself that he wasn’t trapped anymore. He had broken free.
Back in his old life, Hyunjin was unraveling. His perfect, calm demeanor was crumbling, replaced with an obsession that consumed him. He couldn’t accept that Felix was gone. He refused to believe it. Even though the evidence pointed to Felix’s death, Hyunjin knew deep down that it wasn’t true. Felix was out there, somewhere, hiding from him, and the thought drove him mad.
Hyunjin spent months trying to track Felix down. He hired private investigators, poured over Felix’s social media, looking for any clue that might lead him to where Felix had disappeared to. Every dead end only fueled his obsession. His friends, once supportive, began to pull away from him, uncomfortable with the way he spoke about Felix. They saw how dangerous he had become, how twisted his love for Felix had grown, but no one knew how to help him. Even Han, who had once been patient, stopped answering Hyunjin’s calls. He had been one of the few people who could see through Hyunjin’s calm façade, understanding how toxic his obsession with Felix truly was. After helping Felix escape, Han cut all ties with Hyunjin, making it clear that he wanted nothing to do with him. Hyunjin took this as a betrayal, seeing Han as an accomplice to Felix’s disappearance.
Hyunjin’s behavior grew more erratic. He couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat. His thoughts were consumed by Felix. Everywhere he looked, he saw reminders of him their shared apartment, the streets they used to walk together, the places they’d go on dates. But now, those memories were tainted with the realization that Felix had left him. How could he have been so blind to it? How could Felix his Felix have turned his back on him?
Months passed, and Hyunjin’s obsession reached a breaking point. He started searching through Felix’s old phone records, scouring them for any name, any number, that might give him a clue. One night, in a moment of desperation, Hyunjin reached out to Minho, Han’s boyfriend. He knew it was a long shot, but he couldn’t let go of the idea that Han had helped Felix disappear. If anyone knew where Felix was, it had to be Han.
Minho wasn’t surprised when Hyunjin showed up at his door late one night, unannounced and uninvited. There was a part of him that had been expecting this. He had seen Hyunjin spiral for months, had heard about the lengths he was going to in order to find Felix. But Minho wasn’t afraid of him. He stood firm, blocking the doorway when Hyunjin tried to push past him.
“You need to let him go, Hyunjin,” Minho said,
his voice calm but firm.
“Felix is gone, and no amount of searching is going to bring him back. He wanted to get away from you.”
Hyunjin’s eyes burned with a mix of anger and desperation.
“You don’t understand,” he muttered through clenched teeth. “Felix and I are meant to be together. He needs me.”
“No, Hyunjin,” Minho said, stepping closer. “Felix didn’t need you. He needed to be free from you.”
“You needed Felix” Minho stated in a firm tone.
The confrontation was short, but the impact hit Hyunjin hard. He stormed off into the night, but Minho’s words lingered. Deep down, he knew they were true, but he couldn’t accept them. Hyunjin couldn’t let go, not yet. Not when he was so sure Felix was still out there.
Meanwhile, Felix was starting to rebuild his life. It wasn’t easy, but every day brought a small victory. He made new friends, found a job at a local café, and started to feel like himself again. Slowly, the memories of Hyunjin began to fade, replaced with moments of peace and freedom. The weight of his old life lifted, and for the first time in a long while, Felix allowed himself to dream of a future without fear.
But the fear never fully disappeared. There were moments when Felix would walk down a crowded street and think he saw Hyunjin’s face. His heart would race, his breath catching in his throat, but when he looked again, it was always a stranger. Those moments reminded him of the danger he still lived with, the threat that loomed in the background. He knew Hyunjin well enough to know that he wouldn’t give up easily.
Han, the loyal friend, visited Felix whenever he could, helping him stay grounded. He brought news from back home but never mentioned Hyunjin unless Felix asked. And Felix rarely did. He didn’t want to know how Hyunjin was doing, didn’t want to hear about the obsession that still lingered in his absence. It was too painful, too close to home. Instead, Felix focused on healing, on putting the pieces of his life back together.
One evening, after nearly a year of living in hiding, Felix received a message that made his heart stop. It was from an unknown number, and at first, he thought it might just be spam. But when he opened it, his blood ran cold.
The message was simple
unknown: I’m coming for you, Felix. I know you’re not dead.
There was no name, but Felix didn’t need one. He knew exactly who it was from. Hyunjin had found him.
Panic set in immediately. Felix’s hands shook as he stared at the message, his mind racing. How had Hyunjin found him? He had taken every precaution, cut ties with his old life. There was no way Hyunjin could know where he was. But deep down, Felix had always known this day might come. He just hadn’t expected it to come so soon.
Felix called Han, his voice trembling as he explained what had happened.
Han’s response was immediate “You need to leave. Now.”
Felix knew Han was right. He had to disappear again, start over somewhere else, but the thought exhausted him. He couldn’t keep running forever.
“What if he keeps finding me?” Felix whispered, his voice barely audible.
“We won’t let him,” Han said firmly. “I’ll help you. But you need to move fast.”
The next few days were a blur. Felix packed up his belongings, once again preparing to leave behind the life he had built. It felt like déjà vu, like he was trapped in a cycle that he couldn’t escape. But this time, the fear was different. It wasn’t just about Hyunjin anymore, it was about his own survival. Felix knew that if Hyunjin found him, there would be no going back. Hyunjin wouldn’t let him go a second time.
With Han’s help, Felix planned his next move carefully. This time, he wouldn’t just disappear he would erase every trace of his existence. He changed his name again, set up a new identity, and booked a one-way ticket to a remote island where he could blend in with the locals. No one would know who he was, and he would be safe.. at least for now.
On the day of his departure, Felix looked out at the ocean one last time, taking in the peaceful scenery that had become his home. He felt a pang of sadness, knowing that he was leaving behind the life he had fought so hard to build. But there was no other choice. Hyunjin was coming, and Felix couldn’t stay.
As the plane took off, Felix closed his eyes, silently praying that this would be the last time he had to run. But in the back of his mind, he knew the truth, Hyunjin wouldn’t stop until he found him. And when that day came, Felix would have to be ready.
For now, though, Felix focused on one thing: survival. He had escaped once, and he would do it again, no matter what it took. But he knew that as long as Hyunjin was out there, somewhere in the world, watching and waiting, he would never truly be free.
And neither would Hyunjin. The obsession had consumed him, and as the months passed, it became clear to everyone who had once known him Hyunjin was no longer the calm, collected person he used to be. Felix had become his entire world, and without him, there was nothing left. As Felix’s plane soared above the clouds, he stared out the window, trying to force himself to relax. The ocean below looked endless, vast and unreachable just like the new life he was heading toward. But no matter how far he went, there was always the gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach. The feeling that Hyunjin would eventually find him again.
Days passed after Felix landed on the small island. It was remote, quiet, and isolated from the rest of the world. The perfect hiding place. Felix moved into a modest cottage on the outskirts of a small village. The air was different here, the salty breeze carrying the scent of freedom, and the locals treated him like just another face. No one asked questions, and Felix was grateful for that.
For the first time in a long time, he felt a glimmer of peace. He picked up a job at a local bakery, working odd hours to keep his mind off things. The routine became comforting. Wake up, work, go home, repeat. The nights were the hardest, though. Lying alone in the darkness, Felix’s thoughts would wander back to Hyunjin. Was he still searching? Had he given up? The message he received before leaving still haunted him, but with every day that passed without another one, Felix allowed himself to believe, just for a moment, that maybe Hyunjin wouldn’t find him after all.
Meanwhile, back in the city Felix had fled from, Hyunjin had become a ghost of his former self. The obsession that had once driven him to find Felix was now an all consuming madness. He barely slept, barely ate, and his once-polished appearance had grown disheveled. He couldn’t focus on anything but Felix where he might be, what he was doing, who he might be with.
The investigators Hyunjin had hired had all given up, insisting that Felix was dead, just like everyone thought. But Hyunjin knew better. He had seen through the lie. Felix’s death had been too clean, too convenient, and it only fueled Hyunjin’s resolve. He had poured over every clue, every connection Felix had, and narrowed it down to one person Han.
Hyunjin had always suspected Han had a hand in Felix’s disappearance, but now he was certain. In a fit of desperation, Hyunjin decided to confront Han, showing up unannounced at his apartment one night. The confrontation was tense Han’s patience had long since worn thin, and Minho’s protective instincts had kicked in after Hyunjin’s increasingly aggressive behavior.
“You have to stop this, Hyunjin. He’s gone. Felix wanted to be free from you, and you’re just proving why he had to leave in the first place,” Han had said, his voice sharp and unyielding.
Minho stood by his side, arms crossed, glaring at Hyunjin as if daring him to try something.
But Hyunjin didn’t care. “I know he’s alive, and I know you helped him.” His voice cracked with desperation. “You don’t understand—he needs me. He’ll come back to me once he realizes that no one else will love him like I do.”
Han’s eyes narrowed, pity mixing with frustration.
“You don’t love him, Hyunjin. You control him. There’s a difference, and Felix saw that.”
The words stung.
Unknown: Hi Felix, I found you.
Felix’s breath caught in his throat as he stared at the message on his phone. His vision blurred as panic surged through him. The familiar dread that he had buried for so long now crawled its way back into his chest, gripping him with a cold, suffocating fear. His hands trembled, the phone slipping from his grasp and landing on the bed with a dull thud.
No. This can’t be happening.
He forced himself to breathe, but every inhale felt like a struggle. Felix rushed to the window, pulling the curtains aside just enough to peer outside. The darkened street was empty. The only sound was the faint whisper of the ocean in the distance. But even the familiar sound of the waves, once calming, now felt ominous.
Felix backed away from the window, his mind spinning with questions. How had Hyunjin found him? He had been so careful. Had someone tipped him off? Did Hyunjin have eyes on him this whole time, waiting for the perfect moment?
His mind raced with worst case scenarios. He knew Hyunjin was capable of anything. The cameras he had set up in their old house, the threats, the manipulation, Hyunjin always found a way to stay in control. Felix’s escape, his freedom, now felt like an illusion.
He ran to his bedroom closet and pulled out a small suitcase he hadn’t touched in months. His hands moved quickly, stuffing in clothes, essentials, anything he could grab. He had to leave. He had to disappear again. But as Felix frantically packed, another message came through, the phone lighting up on the bed.
Unknown: Don’t run. You know I’ll find you again.
Felix’s breath hitched. It was like Hyunjin could see him, like he knew exactly what Felix was doing at that very moment. He looked around the room, paranoia setting in. Was there a camera? Had Hyunjin found a way to watch him even here, even now?
Another message buzzed, the sound sending chills down Felix’s spine.
Unknown: I’m closer than you think.
Felix froze, the suitcase slipping from his hands. His heart thundered in his chest, and every muscle in his body tensed as if waiting for something, anything, to happen. He slowly walked to the door, his ears straining to hear any sound from outside.
And then, from the front of the house, came the unmistakable sound of footsteps. Soft, deliberate, and far too familiar.
Felix’s stomach dropped, his pulse racing.
A knock echoed through the house.
Felix backed up, eyes wide, his mind screaming at him to run, but his body frozen in place. Another knock.. louder this time, followed by a chilling silence.
Then, a voice.
“Felix…” It was Hyunjin, his voice soft, almost soothing.
“I know you’re in there.”
Felix’s heart pounded in his chest, the sound of his name sending a fresh wave of terror through him.
“I told you, no one will love you the way I do.” The voice grew darker, laced with something dangerous, something twisted. “You can’t hide from me.”
Another knock slow, deliberate.
Felix’s breath came in short gasps as he backed further into the room, his mind screaming for an escape, but every way out seemed blocked. The footsteps outside grew louder, and the door handle rattled as if Hyunjin was testing it.
“Open the door, Felix.” Hyunjin demanded.
Felix pressed his back against the wall, his entire body shaking as he stared at the door, knowing that on the other side stood the person he had run so far to escape. And now, Hyunjin had found him.
The door creaked open slightly, just enough to let Felix know that Hyunjin was inside.
“Felix…” Hyunjin’s voice was closer now, so close Felix could almost feel the weight of his presence.
Then, all at once, everything went silent.
Felix held his breath, his eyes locked on the crack in the door, waiting for what was going to happen next.
And then,
The door began to creak open, inch by inch, as Hyunjin stepped inside…

iv. MEET STRAY KIDS
all of the memebers are in their 3rd year; JEONGIN is a year younger than them as he started his schooling early and got admitted early into JYPA.
CHRIS is a year older as he took a gap year after finishing his high school to go back to his home country, australia, and also so that he and his friends could start JYPA together as he was very serious about their band.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
KIM SEUNGMIN: vocalist and guitarist of stray kids and simply a menace to society. is the second youngest in his band and never fails to remind his friends of that. love language is annoying the heck out of you. pretty popular around campus but only has a few close friends with whom he's really comfortable with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LEE YONGBOK: aka felix, singer, occasional songwriter and is the face of the group. one of those people who's sunshine-y aura is felt everytime he enters the room. felix is the kind of person to put anyone at ease; seungmin and him think of each other as their safe place and seungmin feels the most comfortable with him. one of seungmin's closest friends and also his roomate.
LEE MINHO: super talented vocalist and teaches the others choreography that they sometimes try out to make their concerts more fun. seems unapproachable at first but is the sweetest silly guy once you get to know him. although it seems like him and seungmin are always getting on each other's nerves, seungmin actually looks up to minho a lot and really cares about what he thinks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
CHRISTOPHER BAHNG: known around campus as chan, is the leader, producer, and manager of stray kids. always the voice of reason but there is never a day without him contemplating how he became friends with such chaotic people.
SEO CHANGBIN: producer and rapper of the group. while many are scared of him because of his muscular figure, he is actually an absolute sweetheart and the group's biggest cheerleader. has a joke "thing" going on with his roommate, hyunjin.
HWANG HYUNJIN: drummer and vocalist of the group. also a super talented dancer and helps minho with the choreography whenever he has free time. is the designated drama queen of the group. is also a very talented artist and has quite a bit of cash saved up after selling his art as a side hustle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAN JISUNG: is a baby girl. songwriter and rapper, and also helps chan and bin in production. called the "ace" as he's part of a million different clubs at JYPA and surprisingly ends up winning in every other random competition.
YANG JEONGIN: youngest of the group and thus babied by everyone (and makes the best use of it). super talented vocalist and self-designated stylist of the group as he's undoubtedly the one with the best fashion sense. jury's still out on whether he'll graduate or not. as they're closest in age, also one of seungmin's closest friends.

I've been listening to Chk Chk Boom from Stray Kids non stop for a few days after a video of the dance came up on YouTube shorts. Which means that I have also been getting a lot Stray Kids video recs from YouTube because I keep clicking on them. And I can feel myself slowly getting obsessed.
These two are my favorite (got the image from the Chk Chk Boom Dance practice video, because it had their individual names)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am very bad at associating names with faces, the only reason this blog as tags of actors because the prev poster or the notes had names I could copy. So it's going to time before I rember all the names of the individual memebrs.
Anyway just wanted to share because I know I have a few Kpop mutuals.

Hyunjin's voice fascinates me for many reasons but the main one is that it's so...perfect in musical terms.
Most of us either have siren voices or angel voices, and a gifted few can even switch between them, easily transitioning from one to the other i.e from high to low. And that's what poisons me about Hyunjin's voice because I can't figure out if he's a siren or an angel. His tones fade in with each other, making it seem (atleast to my ear) like there was two people harmonizing with each other perfectly. And that's what I love about "Long for you".
It demonstrates his voice so perfectly, and (along with the melancholic lyrics) it makes my ears feel at peace. Plus, it's almost as if an angel is singing to lure you in as if it's a siren. It's so femme fatale, yet gentle coquette. It's opposite yet similar. It has that musical duality, that tonal duality, which has such a beautiful harmony with the background notes. Even though the composition is quite simple, this song makes me it seem complex through his voice, which is really amazing. And might I remind you that only some people have this voice.
Anyway, gonna go die again and again over Long for You now.

my top 3 rn are: collision, get lit, & hall of fame
#adri.fav#skz's#5-star#fnf and item are two close calls#no honestly this whole album is a no-skip like what they've put out since#i have so many favorite parts in each song that just tickles my brain in a very unique and distinct way#first of all. the TRUMPETS in collision han jisung u are fucking insane i need to kiss his brain and him on the mouth#also ever since the unveil for get lit i have never stopped obsessing w that bass drop i can't wait to own big ass speakers#so i can get mad w that track#hyunjin's SWERVE SWERVE part i HATE him#hall of fame. what more can i say the chorus sold me immediately#but the entire concept of it is just so genius and the fact that it's the intro?????? we love her i love her#so many lines and parts in that song are my favorite bc why is felix singing “Shaking the industry Quaking reality”#is the exact representation of what they've been doing now.#now we're gonna talk abt s-class. jisung's verse. the dance break. i have more. i needed a few days to recover from that and#it's actually the perfect tt for this cb#item. it's a song where no other group can recreate or do. period.#THE BINSUNG PART?????????? pussy part thank u i lost my shit entirely#superbowl. no i'm not gonna talk abt this song. NEXT#topline has met and exceeded all my expectations it's incredible. they way they talked abt multiple kinds of lines and#incorporating it into the song????????? god their lyricism is always on point#i had to like go back to see where was tiger jk in that song bc the transition from him to jisung was so smooth they sounded like one perso#dlc. changbin i love u#this song makes me wanna just be gay and do crimes. literally#fnf i love her so much she's a blessing#reading the lyrics to this was so bittersweet and like i watched the intro and having multiple interpretations to it#makes it even more heartbreaking#the bit towards the end w minho singing is sososososo beautiful#youtiful. my skz.................... she's such a pretty and healing song and so straightforward and sincere#nah it's no big deal i definitely did not cry over her like a baby
