two different kinds of bunnies
a/n:: i know very little about jyuto so this is probably ooc but i don’t care
cw’s:: none 🫶🫶
word count:: ~500
the door to jyuto’s office creaked softly as it opened, revealing a large figure that he had grown quite used to seeing. though, there was a much smaller figure trailing in behind him, holding onto his hand as always with a pouty look. “i’ve told you, it’s only going to be a little bit. don’t you want to sit with jyuto while i’m gone?” rio’s voice was soft as he patted the boy on the head, before lifting him up to carry him over to a chair and set him down. “don’t mind him, i just have to be out for a bit.” rio said as he turned to jyuto as if it was the most natural thing in the world to just enter, drop his boyfriend and leave. “excuse you-?!” jyuto attempted to protest as he stood from his desk, but rio just gave one more big hug to luciel before leaving the room without another word. the room settled into silence as jyuto just looked at luciel with a slightly questioning look, his annoyance growing. who did these two think they were?! who did they think he was, a free babysitter?! “hi..”
the soft voice snapped jyuto out of his thoughts, his brow furrowing slightly as he continued to glare at him with a intimidating look. “hello.. what are you doing here, exactly?” luciel just shrugged, crossing his arms as he curled up in the chair with his legs tucked to his fuzzy pullover-covered chest. “and what am i supposed to do with you?” “do you wanna go get snacks?” luci asked with a growing smile and excitement, which made jyuto scoff softly as he looked aside and pushed his glasses higher onto his nose. “what a think to ask of me..” “so no snacks..?” luci’s face saddened into puppy dog eyes immediately, which he had clearly perfected. “does rio really fall for that?” jyuto couldn’t help but laugh at the thought; both him and samatoki knew that he had been changed since luciel came around but no one could have imagined that rio of all people would fall for puppy dog eyes. “only sometimes..” luciel giggled, making jyuto chuckle again. “how did you do it?” “hm?” “how did you twist rio around your finger like that? i’ve never seen anything like it..” luci giggled again as he shook his head, sayng with a slightly teasing lilt, “it’s always the big tough ones that fall for cute things~” “i do suppose you have a point..” jyuto soon began to stand and reach for his keys, making luciel’s face light up as he began to head for the door and wave his finger to beckon him along. “c’mon, kid. rio’ll skin me if i don’t take you for those snacks.” luciel excitedly jumped up from his chair, bouncing after him with an excited grin at the thought of getting snacks with his new ‘friend’.
“so kid, ever ridden in a cop car before?” “no sir!” “well guess who gets a taste of criminal life today~?” “yayyyyyy!!! can i eat in the cop car?? and buzz the siren?? and and and-“ jyuto just chuckled at the boy’s enthusiasm, tuning him out slightly as they walked out of the building. who would’ve thought, what a pair..

Happy birthday to the love of my life ♡ I'm yet to post about him on this blog, but if you know me you know Samatoki is my dearest husband and we've been together since 2018 ♡ He's been there for me through so much more than I can describe and I can't put into words how much I love him. I'm not particularly satisfied with this art because it was very last minute (I had to redesign my hypmic oc because I was unhappy with him), but I'm just glad I've been able to do something for my dearest ♡ Bonus: My current merch collection ♡
this fell at a very inconvenient time because i just ordered stands to redo my merch shelves and make them much prettier and I have plans to rework my itabag but alas... anything for the wife

Shattered Armor
The sun had long disappeared behind the horizon, casting the city into a shroud of darkness. The night was alive with the cacophony of distant sirens and the hum of neon lights reflecting off rain-slicked streets. Samatoki, the formidable leader of the yakuza, was out on the town, taking his frustrations out on the only solace he could find: the bottom of a bottle. It wasn’t often that Samatoki drank, but tonight he sought the numbing embrace of alcohol like an old friend.
His resistance to drunkenness was unbeatable, yet tonight was different. The weight of his duties, the perpetual tension of his world, and the raw ache of his past had conspired to wear him down. He held his liquor well, but even the strongest of walls had their cracks. As he staggered through the dimly lit streets back to his residence, the swirling effects of alcohol began to take their toll, though he tried desperately to maintain his composure.
The grand entrance to his residence loomed before him, a fortress of steel and stone, but to him it was a beacon of familiarity and, most importantly, the place where you were waiting. A flicker of warmth crossed his mind, a fleeting hope that his return would be met with the comfort of your embrace. However, as he stumbled inside, the house was eerily quiet.
His thoughts, now muddled and fuzzy, propelled him toward the bedroom with a sense of urgency. The distance between the front door and the sanctuary of your shared bed seemed to stretch interminably. He pushed through the door and, with a sinking feeling, saw the empty bed. A pang of confusion and a strange sense of abandonment struck him. His heart raced, pounding not just from the alcohol but from the sudden surge of anxiety that he was alone.
“Where the fuck is she?” he muttered, his voice a rough whisper against the silence. His steps faltered as he fumbled through the dimly lit rooms, stumbling over the furniture and muttering curses under his breath. The quiet was oppressive, a stark contrast to the usual warmth of your presence.
Desperation gnawed at him as he fished out his phone, dialing your number with trembling fingers. The ringing echoed ominously through the house, and as it did, he caught the faintest trace of your ringtone in the background. His heart leapt in his chest. It wasn’t possible—could it be that you were just hiding somewhere, waiting for him?
The sound of your voice on the other end of the line was like a balm to his wounded soul. “Samatoki?” you asked, your voice a soothing melody amidst his chaotic thoughts.
“I-I don’t know where you are!” he blurted out, trying to keep his voice steady. “I came home, and the bed—”
“I'm here,” you interrupted softly. “I’m on the couch.”
The relief that surged through him was almost overwhelming. He followed the sound of your voice, his heart racing as he made his way to the living room. There you were, seated on the couch, bathed in the soft glow of the lamp. You looked up at him, your expression a mixture of concern and confusion.
Samatoki’s resolve crumbled as he finally saw you. He staggered over, collapsing into your arms, burying his face in the crook of your neck. The tears that he’d tried so hard to suppress finally broke free, mingling with his words. “I—Fuck, I thought I lost you. I can't—” He was incoherent, his voice breaking as he choked out his fears and regrets.
You held him close, your hands running soothingly over his back, trying to comfort him as he sobbed against you. “Samatoki, you haven’t lost me. I’m right here.”
He gripped you tightly, as if he could anchor himself to you and stop the room from spinning. His tears fell freely now, the façade of the indomitable yakuza leader shattering in the face of his vulnerability. “I’ve lost so much, so many people,” he whispered brokenly. “I can’t lose you too. Please.”
His words were a desperate plea, a raw outpouring of emotions that he rarely let show. The weight of his past, his fierce protectiveness, and the fear of losing the one person who mattered most to him collided in that moment. The room seemed to spin around him, but you were his anchor, the one constant he could hold on to.
You stroked his hair gently, your voice soft and soothing. “You won’t lose me, Samatoki. I’m here for you, no matter what. I promise.”
The reassurance in your voice was a lifeline, and slowly, the storm within him began to calm. Samatoki’s tears subsided, and as he held you close, the room’s spinning eased. For now, the tumultuous world outside was forgotten, and all that mattered was the unspoken promise between you two, a vow of unwavering support and love amidst the chaos of life.
As the night wore on, Samatoki’s breaths evened out, his body relaxed in the comfort of your embrace. The battles of the day and the weight of his burdens momentarily lifted, replaced by the gentle warmth of your presence. In the stillness of the night, with you by his side, Samatoki found a rare moment of peace, a fragile serenity that he cherished more than anything in his tumultuous world.
And as the dawn began to break, painting the sky with hues of pink and gold, Samatoki clung to you, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that with you, he would never be truly alone.

Fireworks and Velvet Nights
The evening had draped its velvet cloak over Yokohama, and the city's neon lights twinkled like scattered stars across the horizon. The rhythmic hum of Samatoki’s motorbike was the soundtrack to a night that promised to be as unforgettable as it was rare. With his leather jacket and his helmet securely fastened, Samatoki’s brooding exterior seemed softened by a rare, amused glint in his eyes as he glanced back at me.
“Hold on tight,” he shouted over the wind, his voice carrying an edge of playful menace. “You’re not going to fall off, are you?”
I grinned, squeezing my arms around his waist as I pressed closer to him. “I’m not going anywhere! Just drive carefully, okay?”
“Careful’s not really my style,” he replied with a mock grumble, though the laughter in his voice betrayed his true feelings.
We had plans to enjoy a quiet evening watching the fireworks, but, as usual, our journey was anything but straightforward and despite his tough exterior, Samatoki had shown a surprising amount of patience. It wasn’t unusual for me to get sidetracked, stopping to help people who needed it, whether it was guiding a lost tourist or lending a hand to an elderly who slowly crosses over at a pedestrian lane. Samatoki, despite his rough edges, had never complained. Instead, he would wait for me, sometimes joining in to help with a grunt and a scowl that was more show than substance, his normally stern face breaking into a rare, albeit fleeting, smile. He had helped without complaint, his actions speaking louder than his words ever could. His usual bravado and rough exterior were replaced with an earnest warmth that made my heart flutter.
“Looks like you’re making a habit of saving the day,” he said, handing me a small packet of tissues he had pulled from his jacket pocket.
“You know me,” I replied with a smile. “I can’t resist helping out when I can.”
Samatoki shook his head, his grin widening. “You’re gonna be the death of me with all this good-hearted nonsense.” I playfully retorted back. “As if you’re not one.”
Tonight, though, was special. We were heading towards a secluded spot to watch the fireworks, a rare break from his usually intense and demanding schedule. We navigated through the city, the lights of Yokohama seemed to pulse with the rhythm of our adventure. Every so often, he’d glance back at me with a smirk, as if sharing a private joke only we understood.
As we finally arrived at our destination, a secluded park on a hilltop overlooking the city, Samatoki parked the bike and helped me off with a gentle touch. He unstrapped his helmet and tossed it aside, his white hair ruffled and his gaze softening as he looked at me.
The area was serene, far from the clamor of the city, and we spread out a blanket on the grass, preparing for the fireworks display. Samatoki took my hand, guiding me to sit beside him on the blanket. We had been through so much today, and as we settled down, the closeness felt both comforting and exciting. The park was an ideal spot for watching the fireworks, and as the first burst of color exploded in the sky, I looked over at Samatoki, who seemed entranced by the display.
He turned to me, his usual scowl replaced by a rare, genuine smile. “Yeah, not too bad, huh?”
I nodded, resting my head on his shoulder. “It’s perfect.”
I stole a glance at Samatoki, noticing how the vibrant colors reflected in his eyes. I could feel Samatoki’s breath against my cheek, his presence a comforting anchor in the midst of the spectacle. His eyes, usually so intense and intimidating, were filled with a tenderness that I had come to cherish. Samatoki had always been a man of contrasts—fierce and protective, yet capable of such unexpected gentleness. For once, his usual demeanor was replaced with a relaxed, almost childlike wonder. He had always been someone who faced the world with a hard edge, but tonight, in the soft glow of the fireworks, he seemed almost vulnerable.
“Do you remember the first time you saw fireworks?” I asked, breaking the comfortable silence.
He chuckled softly, the sound a low rumble in his chest. “Yeah, I remember. It was a mess. I was too young to really appreciate it, just thought they were loud and kind of annoying. Didn’t get why everyone was so excited.”
I laughed, nudging him playfully. “Well, I think you’re getting the hang of it now. It’s nice to see you enjoying it.”
Samatoki shrugged, but there was a hint of a smile playing on his lips. “Yeah, well, you’re not the only one who can have a good time every now and then.”
The fireworks continued, painting the night sky with brilliant colors and patterns. We laughed and talked, with occasional teasing remarks from Samatoki. Our voices blend with the occasional pop and crackle of the pyrotechnics. Samatoki’s arm remained draped around me, a reassuring presence that made everything feel right.
At one point, a particularly dazzling firework erupted, filling the sky with a cascade of golden sparks. I gasped, my eyes wide with wonder. Samatoki, seeing my reaction, looked down at me with a soft, almost shy smile.
“You know,” he began, his voice gentle, “I’m glad we did this. It’s not something I usually do, but... it feels good.”
I looked up at him, my heart swelling with affection. “I’m glad too. It means a lot to me that you’re here.”
As the final firework faded, leaving only the gentle glow of the night, Samatoki pulled me closer. His hand cupped my cheek, his gaze intense and tender. “I’ve been wanting to do this all night,” he murmured.
Before I could respond, he leaned in and kissed me, his lips meeting mine in a gentle, passionate touch. The world seemed to pause as we kissed, the fireworks a distant memory compared to the warmth of his embrace. His kiss was a promise, a blending of the rough edges of his world with the softness of the moment.
When we finally pulled apart, our foreheads resting together, I could see the rare vulnerability in his eyes. “You make me forget about all the crap I deal with every day,” he admitted, his voice a low whisper. “You know… I don’t say it much, but… I really appreciate you. You make me want to be better.”
My heart fluttered at his words, and I reached up to gently touch his cheek. “And you make me feel like the luckiest person in the world.”
Samatoki broke the silence with a gruff but fond murmur. “I might act tough and all, but nights like this make me realize there’s more to life than just fighting and running the family.”
I smiled, turning to him with a loving gaze. “And I’m glad you’re here with me, to share these moments. It’s what makes them special.”
He leaned into my touch, his eyes closing briefly as if savoring the moment. Then, with a playful smirk, he said, “Alright, enough of this mushy stuff. Let’s get out of here before I start doing something embarrassing.”
I laughed, the sound mingling with the soft rustle of the night breeze. Together, we stood up, Samatoki’s hand remained intertwined with mine as we walked back to the bike. The night had been a beautiful escape from the chaos of his usual life, as we rode off into the night, the city lights twinkling around us, I knew that this was a night I would cherish forever—an evening of laughter, love, and the rare glimpse of the softer side of Samatoki, who was, beneath it all, just a man deeply in love.
In AO3 as well! I had this dream earlier and decided to tweak a bit by inserting one of my faves, Samatoki. :3
