Scientist and farmers, for years have been working together , and genetically altering our foods, through a process call GMO, genetically modified organisms then you wonder why you work so dam hard and haven't lost a pound, then talk about about getting surgery, or the other phrase get done up. No I don't knock the surgery because we are all born different, and some of us lack education. Back to the subject at hand. Happy Peanut Butter Lovers Day!
In honor of National Peanut Month and more specifically, National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day, I’m celebrating this most delicious crop. Did you know the National Peanut Board reports it takes 540 peanuts to make one regular jar of peanut butter? Those jars contain at least 90% of this scrumptious nut, but there can be sneaky ingredients that aren't as good for your health, such as partially hydrogenated oils.
How to Choose the Healthiest Peanut Butter:
Three ingredients or less
No partially hydrogenated oils in the ingredients
Preferably a peanut butter that has only one ingredient: peanuts
Some grocery stores will even let you grind your own!
Just two tablespoons of peanut butter, or a scoop the size of a ping pong ball, packs about 190 calories. While the reduced-fat versions will save you a few calories, you will miss out on all the heart-healthy poly- and monounsaturated fats.
Pair your peanut butter with a healthy carbohydrate for a well-rounded snack or breakfast on the go. My personal favorite is air-popped popcorn dipped in natural peanut butter. Grab yourself some PB to celebrate today, but don’t forget its power boost the rest of the year!
