I did a thing:

We know there will be lots to look forward to but if you find yourself with some time, please read the book, Beyond the Story.

A lot of things that are confusing, especially to those who weren't around since 2013, can be understood more clearly through the words of the members in the book.

If you can, watch the docuseries Beyond the Star. So much information from them, in their own words, their tone of voice, and in context with what they are trying to communicate, adds another layer of context.

And watch the recent HYBE Labels series that explains what T&D is... their staff become emotionally attached to their trainees too. To see them bloom into fully rounded artists that take off on their own journeys must be an amazing experience. It helps to have real human faces to associate with "the company."

The series should be eye-opening for some. I hope it is. Hearing that Namjoon and BTS formed the foundation for how they develop trainees... imagine that... huh...

You will learn so much about them and how they got to this point.

That's not to say that they didn't work hard, that they weren't pushed, that they didn't question themselves, but the big picture is that they were young, making it up as they went, both the members as individuals and the company itself. Bang PD had the experience but he also had other ideas that broke away from the normal.

Not to mention the enormous pushback, bullying, downright hate, they received all through it. I don't know how they kept going.

It took years for them to be able to stop, take stock in what they'd accomplished and how they got there and then decide what they wanted to do from then on. And then they did it again this past year, choosing to forge ahead as a group with their company.

I believe they indeed talked about ten, twenty, even thirty years and have tentatively outlined what they want to accomplish. I think they are working their way toward whatever it is they envisioned.

Nothing is a coincidence but I bet a LOT is serendipity.

On another note, my two that I pay closest attention to...

Jungkook tried all year to tell us they were a pair. And Jimin... bless his heart. What a handful he has, right? Maybe they are both a handful for each other and that's why they are together right this minute.

Jimin sort of intimated in his last live that after MS he can do whatever he wants without hindrance, whether he means pushing the envelope with his creativity or just being able to work without anything hanging over him...

And Jungkook is apparently building a wonderful and securely-walled place to live that will be ready for when they're discharged. Very large for one person and a dog...yeah, it's huge.

Just my own thoughts here: at this point, with everything we know, the possibility could be that Jimin and Jungkook may live together following MS. There will be enough room in that place for sure, 5 levels? 12,000 square feet? It's huge. Why wouldn't they? That's just my own thought.

ive's jiwon (liz): the devil rx

might be the most nice out of all of the mentioned members in these 3 groups. she tries to show the most authentic side of herself - the good and bad. to me she's first because i appreciate the raw side more than anything. liz tries to be really pure with dives and her solo stans, so i can feel whatever she shows is genuine.

bts' jung kook: 6 of pentacles rx + 10 of cups

to me he is possibly the second most nice person out of these 3 groups, i feel so. jungkook is helping other people, sometimes even more than needed. this might make jungkook more naive than he really is like, but he actually loves to do that. he's very optimistic boy, very happy, there's only positive things i can see and feel. like i said before, a total sunshine. to you, he might be the most nice out of the members of these 3 groups.

enhypen's jungwon: 2 of cups

very communicative with people, he loves to get close with his audience and he actually cares for engene and not only them. it feels like he's someone who's willing to help even if he cannot to do it.

bts' yoongi (suga/agust d): knight of pentacles

very determinated to work what he loves! despite everything he's been through, suga loves to do music, beats and these things that are related to his idol job. suga is working for the feeling of the hobby itself and to him is pure admiration of the job itself. it makes him happy and if army and his solo stans are happy, like his work and so on, he'll be even happier. he lives for the job, it makes him happy and feel that there's purpose for his life. (compared to other people, i see suga has changed quite a lot and has grown up as a person. he'll do the same with his friendships and not only, the relationships with people)

he is pretty much a perfectionist. jimin's intentions to everyone are purely good but he tries to have the perfect friendships and etc. with people which sometimes isn't good because sometimes we have to get into any hardships. jimin seems to have this perfectionism as a habit. overall the vibes i am sensing are good but he has some traits that are hard to change.

bts' seokjin (jin): 2 of wands

since he got out of military recently, i see he tries to adapt. jin also seems really nice person, like without a doubt, but he has hard time with adapting and re-adapting. since i feel his thoughts rather than is he good or not, jin might not know either not because he did something but rather than the environment in hybe has changed too rapidly. jin seems to not be used into the corporation as it is nowadays.

enhypen's jake: page of cups

compared to jungkook, jake is also a bit naive. he might be a fool at times, but i sense he's not that experienced in real life for some reason. he might be introverted in some aspects and even have issues to communicate properly, but he's not as bad as some people might think. he's really nice person and might sometimes look like a lost puppy, but once you "get to know him", he's not that bad.

enhypen's sunwoo (sunoo): 5 of wands rx

also nice boy but doesn't like arguments. sunoo's very chill and hates quarrels. he'd prefer to either not take a side or give something to someone else just to not hear screams and feel bad. i am not sure if it's related to how he grew up in his family, though. this seems to be a side he has for some time.

bts' hoseok (j-hope): 7 of cups

he's also nice, like really nice. why he's low compared to his other members though for me is because he's extremely multi-layered. he's not only sunshine, he's not only the main dancer of bts. hobi has a lot to say, if you let him to do it. he wants to be raw and pure and just himself (to be as similar as liz) but considering his status and other circumstances, he cannot do that just yet. currently hobi is overthinking more than usual and if hybe just make him free to talk what he wants to say, he'll just do it, but just not yet..

bts' taehyung (v): the moon

even more multi-layered than j-hope. nowadays he is harder to get mainly because he wants to "break free". the freedom he seems to long for is rather related to his beliefs, they seem to be the main key. he feels too many emotions at once. why he's so high, though, compared to the other people, is because i sense this blockage is temporary and possibly because i've been in a similar situation before. he's not bad at all but he currently is going through a period that make him feel mixed. despite him being in the military, v seems to be around coworkers there that are trying to wake him up spiritually.

bts' namjoon (rm), enhypen's heeseung: 5 of swords rx

both boys are neutral to me. so, about namjoon, i see he's a bit better compared to heeseung. rm has been through a lot too but he seems to be in a "not this but not that" situation. heeseung on the other hand, i cannot sense much except that he might be currently really passive. heeseung seems to be harder to get. both boys are deeply in their thoughts and in different situations but they aren't as bad as they might be. currently they just are a bit harder to reach simply because they're overthinkers, especially bts' leader.

ive's gaeul, ive's wonyoung: 4 of pentacles rx

wonyoung is better to me. her mental health is so and so and that affects her a lot. despite how popular she is, wonyoung seems to get through the things in a odd way and it just cannot be explained by everyone. she's very generous and thankful for this lifetime but nonetheless she tries to be chill and to strengthen her mentality (psyche). gaeul on the other hand, my intuition said "uh she's so and so as a person". i don't have anything else to say.

enhypen's sunghoon: 5 of pentacles

he's currently getting through a lot and i am unsure where to put him. intuition-wise and through older readings, he's more introverted but despite that, he's also really nice.

enhypen's riki (niki): 9 of swords rx

from older readings i've sensed his personality differs a lot from most of the members, so that's why he's this down.

ive's rei: ace of pentacles

she's workaholic to the extent she doesn't think about anything else, like work is her only purpose. rei's "more nice" than yujin because she doesn't have ill intentions behind all of this and that's her way to cope with .. anything. i don't feel much for her too.

ive's yujin: king of pentacles

another workaholic to the extent her work is only on her mind. the difference is that she gets so obssesed over the work she has that she loses herself.

enhypen's jay: 4 of swords

.. very passive person, more than heeseung if i have to compare with him. he's down here because this trait of his is prominent.

ive's hyunseo (lesseo): 3 of swords

sometimes she's too brutal with her words. exteremely honest but also critisize a lot without working on herself for example. basically, she has traits that aren't good. i don't see she's manipulative but she has some work to do if she does want to change.

least likely to be nice

my ask was based on one card for each member and it's allegedly the "overall look". there might be some discrepancies here and there so i also used my intuition.

one thing that always made me wonder, especially when i don't have much to occupy myself (like right now lol), is why bang pd didn't let bts have solo activities as a whole prior to 2023, and why he limited solo activities just to the rap line. when i think about it, it would've been so much better for the members to have sparsed, natural solo debuts in-between their promotions as bts, like every other group does. the impression i had during this entire year is how those solo debuts and promotions felt forced and rushed. i wonder if hybe withheld some rap line releases (like jitb, even d-day) for 2023. then, you have members who clearly didn't have nothing to release, but were forced to just to tick the "solo debut" box, like jungkook and taehyung.

sometimes, when i entertain the idea of earlier solo debuts, i wonder if some of the misconceptions armys have always had about jimin wouldn't be erased, i.e when some diet solos and antis helped spread through the fandom that he's not creative or musically inclined or artistic. it makes me even question why some of his collaborations in early bts songs were ommited for so long, like when he said that the original dna melody was trash or literally came up with the melody for bs&t. i don't blame pjms who believe in some hardcore conspiracy theories about hybe/jimin, because it does look like the company had an agenda against him from the beginning. also, it would've helped so much to humble the Real Husbands™️ and tame their egos and their insane solos, because jungkook and taehyung were the ones who benefited the most from this arrangement. they could tease their legendary mixtapes and snippets of their songs as much as they wanted, be labeled as the artistic geniuses and creative artists and never release a single song. it's so funny to me that the "most artistic and creative" members of bts were the ones who didn't even try to release something they wrote/produced for their debuts. and the member deemed the least artistic just dropped a whole self-produced masterpiece.

to me, this whole solo era really made me open my eyes to which members are in bts because they want to be artists and performers and which ones are there just to ride the fame wave.

The "most artistic and creative" members of bts were the ones who didn't even try to release something they wrote/produced for their debuts. and the member deemed the least artistic just dropped a whole self-produced masterpiece.

FUNNY THAT..

I think there was probably a general understanding between them that the time for solo releases would come once they went into hiatus, and that's why they didn't release before. I mean, jitb, dday, the examples you gave. I thought the same about Jungkook and Taehyung, who were allegedly writing music since 2019 for their solo "mixtapes". I thought, maybe they didn't release it two years ago because they knew they'd had their moment to do only that.

It's not a secret why they didn't all get solo debuts before this, and it's just because the group was the focus. The company doubled down on the "ot7" agenda after 2017, when they won that Billboard Social award, because they understood that people liked them as a group, and that's where they'd make the most money. "If it's not broken, don't fix it" kind of thing.

There was an interview where bangpd said that if the members wanted to release solo music, they had to work on it themselves, that they didn't get help from the company. Which -lies, because rapline still got help. I always thought that they were allowed to release solo music because they were able to do it, of course; but also because BTS whole image was created around the premise that the members did their own music. Allowing rapline to release their solo works kept feeding this narrative. Not that it was a fake narrative, but it was basically the core of the BTS lore. And that's how the company itself also helped foster the idea that rapline were so superior because they wrote music.

They eventually did the same with Jungkook. Slowly, but surely. He started talking about releasing his mixtape in 2019, and in 2020 only he got a song stay in BE, still with you, your eyes tell, film out. I don't know if I'm forgetting something else from that year.

Yoongi said he'd wanted to give Jimin his song People, and the company didn't let him. Right after that they said, let's get a Yoongi song and give it to Jungkook. That was stay alive.

What would've been so wrong about Jimin singing in Yoongi's album?

The devil works hard, but hybe worked even harder for Jungkook's 209849 solo debutSSSS.

Everyone in BE had a song... except Jimin, even though he said he had presented three songs for the album. The only thing they ended up choosing from Jimin was the bridge in disease, which was literally the best part of the album by a landslide according to everyone's opinion lmao.

Then Jungkook went and posted the bridge he'd done and got rejected because why let Jimin have a moment for himself, right? Funny that whole attitude carried on onto their solo careers.

About earlier solo careers changing the opinion of the fandom regarding Jimin... maybe? I'm not sure. I don't think it's lack of proof of Jimin's character or anything, it's the narratives the members and company have drilled into the fandom's collective brain on one side, and on the other side there's the fandom's own reluctancy to acknowledge Jimin in a serious manner. I've said before it's almost as if they like having him under their thumb, they need to control him or at least control the way others think about him, hence their constant fighting with pjms only while they don't care about the other members' solo fans.

Who am I? Seokjin & Grace

ARMY’s had taken to Twitter the moment the FESTA 2022 video had been posted, all panicking at the word ‘hiatus’ in the subtitles. The HYBE stocks had taken a hard knock at the news, though they picked back up at Jungkook’s V-LIVE that was posted a day or two afterwards. However, the one thing that ARMY had noticed that their usually easygoing noona was being unusually quiet as she sat between Yoongi and Jin.

She had engaged and laughed when needed but when the focus hadn’t been on her or she didn’t need to say anything, she had gone quiet and picked at her food. Jin had also been uncharacteristically quiet and no amount of reassuring from BigHit about their female artist was quelling ARMY’s worries or rumours. Local media was also reporting on ARMY’s questions about whether the break was going to lead to Grace quitting BTS to go it alone. There was also no sign of her long awaited mixtape or any kind of music like the boys had been hinting at. 

Radio silence had formed around Korea’s Noona. 

Then came Busan and Grace was back to her usual self, her performance gaining highly rated reviews at how she was able to pull off her dance moves in the clothes they had put her in, in the heels and for the fact that no one had actually heard her sing since the last time BTS were on stage. 

And then came the news Seokjin was going to cancel the delay for his military service and he would be going to enlist in December. 

Grace’s life as she knew it came to abrupt halt.

“I don’t know who I am anymore,” Grace admitted as she stared at her tea that Jin had made when the news had been announced that morning. Even though they were a couple, they had agreed to live separately for now until he came back from his service, though that didn’t mean they couldn’t have ‘sleepovers.’ Jin had woken up that morning to find his partner in front of her living room window, overlooking the gardens of the compound. 

“Who do you think you are?” he asked, sitting down on her opposite side and stared at his own coffee. 

Military plans were always going to come and he had wanted to go just after what would have been the end of their Map of the Soul tour but then the pandemic came, Butter came, Permission to Dance and everything else. Now he could finally go, with the rest of the boys to follow. 

However, it meant that Grace would be on her own for the first time. She would be the one to represent BTS, represent BigHit as a solo artist, to represent their legacy, their songs and their performances. She would have to do that all alone, without none of the boys there to support her.

Grace had been their silent support during various solo promotions: she had been there for Yoongi’s Agust D, Namjoon’s Indigo, J-Hope’s first mixtape then his first album, Jungkook’s various solo projects, Jimin’s first solo album and Taehyung’s various modelling careers. And she had always been there for Jin's various solos, promos and more.

But they wouldn’t be there for hers. 

“I’ve finally got comfortable being the only member of BTS, and being the only female at BigHit. I’ve finally found my footing…but without you guys, who am I? Who can I claim to be? I’ve got nothing.”

Jin reached over to brush her long hair away from her eyes, using his thumb to brush away the tears she finally allowed to flow.

“Who am I without you?” she whispered, turning to meet Jin’s gaze. 

“For starters, you’re Grace Chu - BigHit’s first female trainee, Namjoon’s trainer, J-Hope’s sunshine, Yoongi’s support, Jimin’s comforter, Taehyung’s translator and Jungkook’s mother. You’re known as Korea’s Noona, ARMY’s queen, England’s rose,” Jin took hold of her hand and pressed the back of it to his lips. “Love of my life.”

“You’ve got a whole team ready to stand behind you and I know you’ve got plans, things you want to do. BTS isn’t BTS without you and I can’t think of no other person who is going to represent us and ARMY to the rest of the world.”

For Grace, there was always going to be the unsettling feeling that the boys were looking forward to their solo projects and she couldn’t be more proud of them but for her, it was BTS or nothing. She couldn’t perform without her boys.

However, she would later prove herself wrong when she was called into Bang’s office and he began to personally oversee her solo career and endorsements. Sejin was recalled to be her manager, she got her own make up team and stylists from the BTS crew and the boys bodyguards became her own. To make her feel comfortable, it was the same team that she had worked with before. 

Her worries remained with her each time she saw her boys off and when she got on stage on her own, but she would countdown the days until 2025 when they all would be reunited. 

Grace turned away from her tea, glanced towards the window and felt Jin settle behind her, pulling her back against his chest. “I’ll be with you every step of the way. You know I’ll contact you every chance I get, and I’ll see you when I can. You’ll just have to get used to being a military wife, like ARMY has to.”

Hearing Jin’s signature laugh, the mood broke and Grace laughed as she sighed. “Always have to ruin the mood. What do you mean wife?!”

She never got the answer to that question.

Thoughts are Thunking

November 1, 2024

It's October 31. The last day of the month; the last day of I’ll Be There tracking as well. For the past few days, there was a lot of in-fighting – Seokjin-biased fans vs ot7 for not supporting the song, Seokjin girlies amongst themselves for not standing up for Jin, for not doing much, blah blah blah. Now everyone has mellowed down and focused on working on last minute streaming and buying parties (and avoiding all the drama) to get Jin that Hot100 or BB200. (While writing this, Hourjinnie’s playlist is playing in the background. I am doing what little I can to help boost Jin’s pre-release song.)

I could write an entire thesis about the events of the last few days and why, even though it is heartbreaking, it is not at all surprising. But so much has been said and written I do not want to add anymore to the drama. I will just write my scrambled thoughts here lest I will combust. Besides, my tumblr is all for me, a repository of my delusions and distress. If, somehow, you have lost your way here, please leave quietly; you do not want to be at the receiving end of my scattered and unhinged thoughts.

I’ll Be There – 90s Baby

I cannot stop gushing about how I love IBT: the rock musicality of it, Jin’s rock voice that fits it to a T, the MV, the styling, everything. I feel transported to 90s MTV and early 2000s The OC and One Tree Hill. The MV itself is a story on its own. So many analyses have been posted on X about the meaning of the MV but this is the one that resonated most with me.

There was also another one that talks about how the MV is a reflection of BTS’s history but I could not find it anymore on X. In a nutshell, that analysis talks about how the MV starts with Jin singing with no audience (BTS as nugus), then the kids watching him amusedly (BTS with few fans), then the teenagers and people from all walks of life enjoying his song (BTS and their worldwide fans), and then at the end, just Jin singing and dancing alone  - that regardless of whether the fans are there or not, Jin (or BTS) will always “sing for you”.

Personally, the song is an ode to the halcyon days of my youth (gosh, I sound so pretentious using this phrase :-D) – being carefree and free, loved and in-love. That is why I love it so much.

Happy US, Happy Worldwide

With how the promotion is done for IBT and Jin’s upcoming schedules, one can safely assume that Happy will be heavily promoted in Japan and Korea. I have moots on X who lament on how his album promotion seems to be shortsighted when he could have easily followed JK’s path to worldwide pop phenomenon. Hah! In my humble opinion as a nugu, Scooter and Bang will never allow anyone to overshadow Golden. That company-paid article on Billboard proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Scooter and Bang believed themselves to be responsible for JK’s success. And with how Scooter’s position is precariously dependent on Hybe’s success in America, anyone getting nearly if not the same success as JK without Scooter’s hand will put into question his credibility. So, no, Jin and Happy will not get the same promotion and payola in the US and worldwide if he is not going to kiss Scooter’s and Bang’s dirty asses.

Superstar Jin, Debut Jin

Sometimes, I just wish Jin to be very selfish and bully his way into getting what he deserves now that he is in his solo era as a payback for the years and years of company mistreatment. But knowing Jin, he will never compromise his values and principles. For someone who believes that music can be enjoyed in honest ways, he is hauling his ass off doing all these promotions, nudging the fans to the right direction.  Tons and tons of unique POBs so fans will buy more albums. YT and TV contents so the gp will get to hear his songs. Highlighting diversified music platforms like Apple Music and Amazon because YT and Spotify are scammers!! Video calls. Hi-touch. Music showcases. Heck, I will not even be surprised if Jin will also be busking in Myeongdong or in the Han River like what Coldplay did in their promotion of Moon Music.

The way I see it, Jin sees himself as a debut solo singer introducing himself again and his music to his fans by doing all these promotions. Rather than having the fans edifying idols to superstardom through heavy promotion and pandering to fans’ sexual fantasies, Jin of BTS sheds off his superstar status and brings his real authentic self and his original music down to the level of the fans. He is not circumventing his way to success; he is immersing himself in the process, meeting fans and the gp along the way, without being overbearing and blatantly aggressive.

Wootteo is Jin, Jin is Wootteo

That is why he uses Wootteo to do the promotion for him. Rather than belligerently doing it himself, he hides behind Wootteo to promote TA, to say goodbye to the fans, to welcome himself back after military, and now to support Happy. Now, Wootteo (Jin) is a collaborator on the BTS IG channel, cross-posting photos from the plushie’s account, rather than from his own. He is and will forever be humble, modest, and unassuming, that we are left wondering if he is even aware of his own superstar status despite constantly claiming as such in jest. Besides, for those who want Jin to remove his clothes so people will buy his album and stream his songs, here is Wootteo showing off his rounded butt. The guy does not even have his clothes from head to toe – what else can you ask for? Conservative, my ass!

OT7 and Hybe

Yes, Jin is conservative. In an industry that is mired with scandals and dirty tactics, he remains highly principled and decent. How many times has he ended up in hot water with BH and Hybe for disregarding whatever narrative the company wants because it is against his own values? Jin does not want to be told. Period. He is not a puppet that blindly follows what the company wants. Obviously, he pays for it. Hard. The member with the least lines? with only few seconds of screen time? with no company support during ME bullying? with the most hardworking, loyal, but victimized fans? Yes, that’s Jin.

Do the fans do anything about it? Seokjinnies and Seokjin-biased armys would call out the company at the risk of being tagged a solo by the so-called fandom. How many Seokjin accounts were forced to go ia because of bullying and name-calling. Time and time again, the fandom purports the idea of ot7 but when it comes to Seokjin, they are deaf, mute, and blind. And yet, they would harshly lash out on anyone that calls out the company for mistreatment. With the way they defend the company, one wonders if they are really ot7 or hybe employees. The victimization of ot6 never stops but for them, Seokjin willingly chooses to have the least lines and screentime. Hah! Logic is never their strongest suit. They are simply spouting whatever narrative the company wants them to believe. They’re like the vermin of Hamlin, following the pied piper to their demise. Ironically, now that the company is in quagmire, the so-called ot7 are now calling Seokjin the number 1 company defender and most favored member. Well, how I wish that to be true so Jin gets the millions of payola and promotion that others get.

BH Favorites

Of course, we all know who are the company favorites. Hybe does not even pretend to hide it. Yet their fans would always claim that their fave is a victim of ugly mistreatment. Either they are truly not happy with how their fave’s career is handled or they are simply masking the blatant favoritism by changing the narrative. At the very least, each member has free reign of what and how to promote but the scale of the promotion is now up to the company. And with their favorites, the company pushed too hard for their promotion and blatant payola one wonders if they have already received their ROI.

Jin was and never will be the company’s favorite. Again, we go back to him doing his own thing without compromising his values. Unfortunately, in Korea, obedience is key and for the rest of the world, sex and flesh sell.

Running Wild

So Jin is doing it the long and honest way. I am running wild with nervousness for him. I want I’ll Be There to do well on the charts so that he will know that we are very excited and very happy for his album. I want him to be as successful, if not more successful than the rest of the members. He was waiting patiently for almost two years, letting his fellow members shine and supporting them along the way. It is now HIS TIME. And he has been working hard since discharge. For all HIS fans. I want him to feel and to know that he is loved by his fans by getting the accolades and success that he truly deserves. I want him to be HAPPY.

I will be HAPPY, too, yes, but I will be very anxious as well because I just really, really want him to get the desires of his heart for this album.

I just love him so, so much.

Lollapalooza, like pretty much all festivals and concerts, doesn't have a credit section...

It could have ended here but we're lucky enough to have the j-hope in the Box documentary! I checked the credits and it appears the stage video was made by a Korean group named Motion E&T (they posted on Facebook about Lolla, here, with the details of everyone involved).

They also worked on RM's live in Seoul (check the credits in the video description), on SUGA's Agust D tour 'D-DAY' (FB post), on Jung Kook's GOLDEN Live On Stage (FB post), and probably more.

I found almost nothing else about them sadly but I hope this can already brings you some satisfaction😊💜

“D-do I look nice?” He asks making You smile and giggle

“You look very handsome hoon” You say causing the boy to blush

He wore a white graphic tee shirt with a black Carhartt hoodie and black cargo joggers. He looks comfortable for his first day.

“T-thank you” the boy says lowly

“Hi! Park sunghoon?”

“Y-yes!” Sunghoon says releasing Your hand

“I’m Mrs.Boa. I am your counselor for this year so if you have any questions you can always talk to me” she says smiling before shaking his hand

“Thank you Mrs.Boa” he says returning the smile

“And are you his sister?” She asks turning her attention to Yn

“I Uh something like that, I’ll be his ride to and from school” you say making her nod

“Well rest assure we’ll take good care of sunghoon here. You can walk him to his first class if you like” she says

“Oh I’m sure he’s fine” you say but sunghoon grabs you hand again

“C-can you? Please?” He asks making you smile

“Of course hoon. Let’s go” you say grabbing his hand and walking out the the office

“Are you going to be okay?” You ask making him nod

“Do you have money for snacks?” You ask again

“Yes Yn. I have everything” he says

“I’m just making sure, and dad is going to pick you up today I have a date” you say causing his ears to perk up at the word

“D-date?” He asks

“Well I wouldn’t call it a date, he just asked me for coffee” you say smiling at the thought of soobin

“Oh. Have fun” sunghoon says sadly. He don’t know why he was sad. But he didn’t want you to go. He wanted you to come home and bother him like you always do

“Sunghoon? That you?!”

Both you and sunghoon turn around seeing a dog hybrid running towards you two with a big smile

“Jake” sunghoon says smiling

“Hey buddy! Your here! How you like it so far?” He asks hugging sunghoon

Sunghoon stands there for a moment before hugging back

“It’s nice so far. I’m looking for Mr.Jo’s class” sunghoon says

“I have him this period! I’ll show you the way” Jake says smiling

“Hoon is this your friend?” You ask smiling

“Y-yeah I met him at the grocery store” sunghoon says making you nod

“You got it from here?” You ask

“Yeah”

“Okay, I’ll see you later, have a good first day” you say sliding an extra 10 dollars in his hand before walking off

“She your sister?” Jake asks taking sunghoons hand

“I wouldn’t call her that, her dad saved me when I was a toddler” sunghoon says making Jake nod

“She seems really cool! She reminds me of my bestfriend” Jake says happily before his expression turned into a sad one

“You okay?” Sunghoon asks

“Y-yeah I’m fine. Come on! You’ll like Mr.jo” Jake says smiling causing sunghoon to return the smile

It was now the end of the school day and sunghoon could officially say he liked the school. There were so many kids just like, not of the same species but they were alike in many ways.

“First day went well?” Jake asks smiling

“Yeah. I think I’m going to like it here” sunghoon says making Jake smile

“I hope you do!”

Just then a girl with blond hair came tapping Jake on his shoulder

“Hey Jake who’s your friend?” She ask pointing to Sunghoon

“Hey Cassidy! This is sunghoon he just transferred here.” Jake says pointing to sunghoon who awkwardly waved

“Hi” he says

“Nice to meet you. Is your friend picking you up today?” She asks. Sunghoon didn’t miss the bitterness in her voice

“Uh no actually. She’s mad at me right now. I’m staying after school with my brother and our mom is going to pick us up” Jake says with a weak smile

“Oh okay. Well see you tomorrow” she says leaning up to kiss his cheek before running off

He turns to sunghoon as they both looked at each other with shocked expressions

Before any of them could speak on it,. Yn’s dad pulled up blasting sunghoons favorite song. Sunghoon shakes his head watching as the man smiled looking at him

“Sunghoon!!!!” He says through the window

“That your dad?” Jake asks confusedly

“Sooomething like that” sunghoon says

“He seems funny, but I won’t hold you any longer see you tomorrow” Jake says before walking off.

Sunghoon nods before walking to the car getting in beside the man who was dancing to the music

“Uh oh!! My boys first day of school! How’d it go buddy?” He asks turning down the music before pulling off

“It was good. Yn gave me an extra 10 dollars so I got us a bunch of stuff out the vending machine” sunghoon says placing his bag in the back seat

“Her little butt should be at home. She’s getting ready for her date” her dad says rolling his eyes

“Yeah, I’ve heard. Who is the guy?” Sunghoon asks

“I don’t even know hoon. Some boy from her school” he says sighing

Sunghoon shakes his head at the thought. You. With a boy. Alone. He didn’t like it one bit.

You stood at your vanity checking out your outfit for the fifth time in 10 minutes. Soobin just texted and said he’d be here in 5 minutes and you were in sheer panic

You fluffed out your fro before putting it into a puff with a couple of strands hanging out. You sigh as you put your lipgloss on

“You look fine Yn”

You turn around seeing your dad

“Do I? What if he doesn’t like my outfit” you ask

“Who gives a damn?” Your dad asks

“Daddy don’t be like that” you grabbing your bag

“I’m just saying, if he doesn’t like how my little girl dresses than he can kick rocks with no shoes and socks” he says making you giggle

“I know dad.” You say just as your phone goes off from a text from soobin saying he was outside. You grab your phone and charger before rushing down the stairs to see sunghoon at the door glaring at soobin

“Who are you?” Sunghoon asks

“Uh I’m soobin. I’m looking for Yn?” Soobin says

Before you could say anything your dad opens the door wider exposing his very tall and very built frame

“Why are you looking for my daughter?” He asks making his voice deep. You sigh rolling your eyes. Why are they acting like this

“B-because I’m taking her out” soobin says

“Taking her where?” Your dad asks with a raised brow

“For coffee” soobin says

“She don’t like coffee” your dad says harshly

“Oh I Uh well?” Soobin says before your dad bust out into laughter. You roll your eyes again before pushing him and sunghoon out the way

“Alright dad that’s enough” You say as your dad continues to cackle

“I’m just joking boy. All fun and games. Have her home by 10 or my son will bite you” your dad says pointing behind him at sunghoon who growled at him showing his fangs

“O-of course sir” soobin says reaching out for your hand. You look at his hand then him before taking it.

As you walked away sunghoon grabbed your wrist looking at you. You give him a smile before placing your hand that was in soobins, ontop of his

“I’ll be fine. I’ll bring you something back okay?” You says causing him to relax just a bit.

Your dad walks away as sunghoon stands there glaring at soobin the whole time.

“She’ll be okay hoon. If he doesn’t bring her back we’ll kill him” your dad jokes

“Yeah” sunghoon mumbles.

He doesn’t know exactly what came over him but he was mad. He wanted to tear that soobin into tiny pieces and keep you in the house.

He hated how he had your hand and walked you to the car. He hated every last bit of it. He wanted to tell you that you couldn’t go.

But then again, who was he to tell you not to?

“Your dad honestly scared me” soobin says making you laugh

“Yeah. He likes to play a lot” you say shaking your head. Your dad was so childish

“Is that hybrid your brother?” He asks

“Uh no, my dad saved him when he was really little. I think he was only four and that hybrid has a name. His name is sunghoon” you say

“Oh I’m sorry. Where was he saved from?” Soobin asks digging

“Uh I don’t remember It was so long ago” you say not wanting to tell sunghoons business

“Understandable. You look really nice by the way” soobin says making you smile.

“Thank you soobin. What made you want to ask me out?” Yoh asks causing him to blush

“Well I Uh, I’ve wanted to for a long time and since we’ll be graduating soon I figured I should talk to before I never get to see you again” soobin says

“Really? You wanted to talk to me? Why?” You ask genuinely confused

“Well for starters, your really beautiful and super smart. You help literally everyone around the school rather they ask or not and you don’t take anything from anybody” he says making you nod

“True, I don’t play that” you say waving your finger causing him to laugh

“So you don’t like coffee?” Soobin says point to the iced caramel macchiato

You giggle before taking a sip

“I do like coffee I was just into our conversation is all” you say sipping from the straw

As the minutes go on you and soobin talk some more and get to know each other. Reaching into your purse you pull out a 10 dollar bill sliding it over to soobin. He looks at it confusedly before picking it up

“What’s this for?” He asks

“Oh that’s the money for when your ordered our drinks” you say causing him to shake his head

“No, take it back” he says making you frown

“Why?” You ask

“When we hang out I’ll always pay for you” he says making your jaw drop.

Never had a boy paid for your things and declined the money when you tried to give it back.

“Are you sure?” You ask

“Positive, now let’s go to the park across the street” he says standing up and offering you his hand. You smile up at him taking his hand and then out the door you were

After a very successful date you sat on your porch with soobin just talking and laughing. Sunghoon sat on the couch and could hear it all and couldn’t help but scoff everytime you giggled at Soobin’s lame jokes

He’s not even that funny.

Sunghoon looked at the time and seen that it was almost 10. He looked over at your dad who was knocked out asleep on the couch. He takes the throw blanket off the couch and puts it ontop of your dad before getting up and going to the door

You and soobins backs were turned to the door as you laid your head on his shoulder. Sunghoons body got hot at the sight. He didn’t know why but he couldn’t control it either.

He opens the screen door before peeking out getting both your attention

“Dad said it’s time to come inside” he says looking only at soobin

“Oh okay, thanks for today soobin. See you at school?” You ask smiling

“No problem Yn. See you at school” he says taking your hand before placing a kiss on it. He gives you a wink before walking to his car.

You slowly turn around to sunghoon.He knew you couldn’t physically blush but if you could, you’d be bright as a tomato.

You giggle before running into the house but quickly stop seeing your dad passed out on the couch with family feud playing softly

“He yelled at the tv all night” sunghoon says making you laugh

“He always does” you say making sunghoon laugh himself

You walk over to him tucking the blanket under him before kissing his head

“Night dad” you say before turning to the staircase with sunghoon hot on your tail.

“So how was your date?” He asks standing in your doorway

“Amazing” you say smiling as you take off your sweater

“Really?” Sunghoon ask

“Yeah, wanna hear about it?” You ask patting your bed

No

“Yeah” sunghoon says sitting down on your plush bed. Maybe he’d exchange is hammock for a bed.

“It was so much fun. He was so sweet sunghoon. It felt genuine. I never thought a guy like soobin would want a girl like me” you say with a sigh

“Why would you say that?” He asks

“I mean did you see that guy? Then do you see me? Who’d want me?” You say with a chuckle

Sunghoon frowns

“Don’t talk about yourself like that” he says

“Huh?” You says turning to him

“There’s nothing wrong with you Yn, he’s lucky you agreed to go with him. Any guy would” he says making you smile

You place your hand on his neck before moving it behind his ears.

“Thanks hoon I appreciate it. Get some rest you have school tomorrow” you say dropping your hand

“Okay, goodnight Yn” he says standing up

“Goodnight sunghoon” you say taking off your shoes

“I lo-I’ll see you in the morning” sunghoon says

“See you in the morning hoon” you say giggling

Sunghoon runs to his room closing the door. He holds his chest as he panics.

Did he just almost tell you he loves you?!

What the hell was going on with him?!
