@hyaciiintho sent āæ ; For Sel & Phoenix, but also for Sel & Nahyutah?? c: SEND ā āæ ā FOR 2 HEADCANONS FOR OUR MUSESā RELATIONSHIP.
Phoenix Wright
As an employee to the Night-Light Reads book shop, Selena is actually more likely to remember a customer's literary preferences than their names. On that note, Phoenix would have picked up plenty of magic books, fictional and trick book, for Trucy and law books and the occasional plant book for himself.
Phoenix would likely encounter red psyche-locks if he were to bring up why she became detective. If he were to connect them to the Night Light Reads fire and the car accident that took her sister and father, they would break and she'd confirm his suspicions. It does not guarantee that she'd accept his assistance and would need time to warm up to the idea.
Nahyuta Sahdmadhi
When they worked together on cases, Nahyuta treated her well as she worked hard with their cases. After one particularly grueling case, he once chanced on Detective Wolfsong asleep at her desk whilst her laptop screen showed a singular long typo in progress on her report.
Selena intended to keep silent about her ghost whispering ability out of respect for the Kingdom of Khura'in's, and in extension, Nahyuta's, religious and spiritual beliefs. While in Khura'in, her ability drained her as there is a large amount of lingering spiritual activity in the kingdom and it overwhelmed her. Despite doing her best to stay awake, she fell asleep during Nahyuta's eight hour sermons on numerous occasions.

Hearing that Trucy has been doing well, the detective smiles. While it has been a long while, Selena is happy hearing the update that she had grown up and is performing her own magic shows. The smile falters as the attorney mentions the magic books.
Trucy has always been an enthusiastic reader, Detective Wolfsong remembers fondly, but her smile fades when hearing the condolences and the memories of the fire and the crash fill her mind. Drawing in a shaky breath, she tries to resume the conversation, intending to move it away.
"Thank you," The detective answers then forces a smile as she switches it back, "I'll have to try to catch one of Trucy's shows one of these days then."
So she decided to talk to him. Surprising, to say the least, though perhaps it shouldn't in it entirety. After all, there had been some pretty good memories, mostly ones involving TRUCY and her boundless energy. Speaking of, it seemed she would be the continued leading connection between them good. He was hoping to get a bit more information over what had happened, tactfully, of course.
"She's been great, actually. I'm glad you remembered her." Because OF COURSE she did. Trucy was unforgettable, but perhaps he was biased as the girl's father. "She's been working hard to honor the Gramarye legacy, and it seems everyone's taken notice. As they should. I think all those books on magic you helped her with really gave her some unique ideas." And there it was, the slip of a reference to their first meeting, a CASUAL mention of the core of the matter.
His expression was apologetic then, not quite an act, considering he truly was sympathetic to her situation.
"Speaking of... I heard what had happened. You have my condolences."

With her flashlight still pointed at the shuttered windows, Detective Wolfsong stood quietly as the other officers directed the others to remain seated and calm. Feeling her heart pound, she took a deep breath.
Umbra must be so scared right now. Selena thinks to herself, worried for her elderly pup left alone at her apartment, He's either hiding under the bed or his plushie mountain. I'll need to spoil him when I get back.
She looks over at Wright, noticing him typing up at his phone, and recalls that Trucy must either be home alone or perhaps with a coworker. The detective hopes it's the latter.
As he mentions that no one should be wandering alone, Detective Wolfsong reluctantly agrees with a nod but her mind wanders to their situation.
Was this blackout and activation of the security measure the really the fault of the storm? She wonders, pulling out her radio with her free hand to call in the head of security. Hearing nothing but silence and the sneering from the stands, she finds herself irritated.
"Oi. This case has yet to be finished," Detective Wolfsong chimes in, sounding very cross as she turns to the stands as her voice carried throughout the court room, "I suggest you lot keep your wagging tongues to yourselves, you hear? Save the fiction for the books and try not to skip to the end. No one likes being spoiled of any ending."
Feeling pleased with the sudden silence, Selena smiles but it quickly disappears as Wright asked if anyone had gotten hold of the head of security. She shakes her head but remembered that they were standing in the dark so it's unlikely anyone would be able to see any gestures.
"No, he isn't answering the radio." Detective Wolfsong answers, pointing her light at the door, "We'll need to check the security office and the generators down in the basement to see if aught's amiss."
As the shutters slammed down with FINALITY, the Judge was the first to let out a shriek of alarm. Multiple officers spurred into action then, directing the forming crowd of people to remain seated and calm. Such directions were easier said than done, considering the strange predicament they currently found themselves in.
TRAPPED in a court house with a potential murderer in their midst. Phoenix didn't like the sound of that at all.
Fingers tapped the buttons on his phone, quickly finding one familiar name before he shot off a rapid message Trucy's way to let her know he would be otherwise OCCUPIED for the night. She at least deserved to know she wouldn't need to wait up for him, despite knowing full well that she would regardless. If he could soothe her nerves a bit, however, he would... though, there was hardly anything to find RELAXING from his situation.
"I don't think anyone should be going off on their own." He stated, something all of those in authority agreed upon. There were some who tried to argue against the lock down, but once the very real threat of being locked inside with a murderer came to light, it seemed all too quickly did they start to quiet and WHISPER amongst themselves, sneering at his poor client all the while.
It wasn't them they should be fearing... but the so called WITNESS. He didn't have the exact evidence for that just yet, though.
"If the shutters activated, there must be something going on with the security." He mused aloud, his gaze narrowing in growing suspicion and increasing WORRY. "This sort of thing doesn't just happen..." The building was one of the most secure he knew. For it to suddenly be thrown into a lock down, of all things... it spoke VOLUMES of something more sinister brewing under the surface.
Once more did lightning crack and thunder BOOMED from beyond the windows, shaking the building in its wake ominously. Phoenix only hoped that his daughter was okay being home alone in the middle of the storm, or that Athena had stayed behind and opted not to venture back home in the middle of it all. Then again, perhaps he had other more immediate things to be concerned over, such as the reason why the courthouse was suddenly PLUNGED into darkness.
"Is anyone able to get a hold of head security?" He questioned then. "I think the best thing to do is start there."

Selena remembered him.
He frequented the numerous shelves with his young daughter in tow. The detective recalls that she was fond of every magical book, fiction and trick book, they had in stock. When the fire stole away Night-Light Reads, Selena had mistakenly believed their previous visit would be the last she'd see of them.
But, the detective had almost walked past him until his voice caught her attention. Despite trading his beanie and sweater for the bright blue suit, she still recognized him.
"It's...It has been a good while, Mr. Wright," She answers, struggling to attempt conversation, trying to figuring out what to say in this unprompted reunion, "How has Trucy been?...I've heard through the grapevine that she has her own show, a magic one, now."
šøļ½”*ļ¾+. Starter Call | @lcstkey
"You look... familiar. Don't I know you from somewhere?" It was on the TIP of his tongue and yet refused to leap from the spot, the memory itching persistently at the forefront of his mind with little to no HELP. Only after a beat did the knowledge finally surface BOOKS: The Night-Light Reads bookstore he had once frequented with Trucy before it had gone up in flames. He had followed the story via papers, but the story never really settled RIGHT with him. Who knew he would be running into the Wolfsongs's daughter of all people right outside the court building, and so many years after that tragedy?
Phoenix made no move to reveal his own internal conclusions, leaving it to her to make proper introductions... should she CHOOSE to. Sometimes people didn't want to be recognized.
Sometimes people didn't WANT to open old wounds.
Phoenix understood that better than most.

Admittedly, the detective had only seen Phoenix Wright in action as a defense lawyer once before. When he used to visit the Night-Light Reads with Trucy, she wouldn't have believed that he was a top notch lawyer until he defended her younger sister in court, long before he became disbarred.
Seeing him in court today, it was as if he had never forgotten how to fiercely defend his clients. It felt different, being on the stand as a detective laying out all the details of the case to the court.
Dovin The'rgrave had been found in a locked room, stabbed in the back, with the defendant, who had been knocked unconscious and the only occupant inside with them. It was supposed to be a clear cut case.
Mr. Wright picked apart her report for inconsistencies with the evidence, something she knew he'd would try to do. He picked apart the witness' testimonies. There were moments she wondered if he was bluffing, but the way the story was matching up, it felt too strange for it not to be true.
Just as Mr. Wright had thrown in his OBJECTION, the building shook from the crack of lightning and the loud shriek from behind just as the lights went out. The detective clasped a hand over her mouth to keep herself from laughing due to her frazzled nerves and the absurd timing of the blackout.
Hearing another approach, the detective straightens up and took a deep breath. I need to stay calm for everyone else...She thinks to herself and by voice, recognizes Phoenix who had pulled his phone out for light.
"Aye, that 'objection' was too well timed in my opinion," She answers, a giggle slipping out, "The back up generators should be up soon."
'Soon' did not come soon enough and they were still in the dark. Hearing the murmurs and whispers from the masses, the detective crosses her arms and frowns, brows furrowing. Humming, the detective takes out her flashlight and clicks it on.
"I'm going to go down to see what's going on with the back up generators down in the basement. I'll be back shortly." She says, "We may have to pick up where we left off on this case tomorrow if we can't get the power back on." Selena hears the judge agree with her.
When the detective was about to step out of the court room, another crack of lightning can be heard and moments after, an alarm blazes. The window shudders close down throughout the court room. Selena appears alarmed and turns her flash light toward the windows that have been closed off by metallic plating.
"What in the world...?"
Season appropriate starter call | @lcstkey
Phoenix had thrown his last OBJECTION into the wind as a final hail mary, so certain that he had found the exact piece of evidence that would finally nail the witness as the TRUE culprit behind the murder of one Dovin The'rgrave. Of course, like any and all trials he's been involved with, there had to be one inconvenience to occur that would throw the entire trial into more COMPLICATED territory: The lights went out.
There was a shriek from the audience as a loud crack of lightning shook the entire building to its core, the courtroom suddenly PLUNGED into darkness as the judge did his best to calm the masses. Phoenix's shoulders refused to relax, eyes scanning the dark as bodies shifted about, but no sure features could be made out. He did, however, recognize the familiar form of one of the detectives nearby.
"Lightning storms." He began conversationally, fetching his phone from his breast pocket and shining the light so as to provide some sort of ILLUMINATION between them. "Gotta love them, right?"
