Summer 2024 was the most stressful time that I ever had since 10 years ago!
I had a fun time during my trip, but with my uncle getting surgery in the hospital and anxiety over furry fandom events and festivals, it was just unacceptable! I also had memories and flashbacks to what happened during the summer of 2014, but that was way worse than this year's summer. I was dealing with anxiety over the Lego movie's popularity, and then up to 10 years later, I had anxiety and disgusting behaviors that will make Twlight Sparkle vomit! I am not fucking kidding..
I had lots of fun this summer but based on what happened 10 years ago.. it was probably the most challenging and difficult summers I ever had! And it even had beaten 2016 standards. Imagine what the furry fandom could do in the wrong hands.
I think that the HWDSB should be responsible for having a teacher so sympathetic to zootopia so that I can teach her a lesson on obsessive behaviors. There has to be at least major consequences for what happened inside the walls of my high school.
I have been begging and pleading with my family to start a lawsuit against the HWDSB for brainwashing me into the furry fandom.. but they keep saying that it's too expensive. I don't blame the furry fandom. But I blame the Hamilton school board for the madness that unfolded during the timeline of 2014 to 2016.
Even whatever happened 10 years ago in my family's home was the school's fault!
Goodbye, summer of 2024.. hello, Halloween!
I am more excited for Halloween to come. Christmas is the only thing that should be canceled.. since my brain is darker than Joyful
I hope that I can go to anthrocon next summer but always keep my promise but it doesn't happen.. I am afraid of having Furnal Equinox taken away from me. But it will be worth it to take a break from it for a while.. goodbye and have a Happy Halloween!

“A movement led by Black and racialized students forced the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board to remove police from schools.
Around 5pm on Monday, hundreds of students and supporters occupied Main Street in front of Hamilton City Hall. Six hours later, demonstrators cheered and danced when trustees voted to cancel the relationship between the school board and Hamilton police.
Gachi, a student and community activist, stood on the back of a moving van and addressed the jubilant crowd: “Guys… We just won! Through tireless community advocacy and efforts, we have successfully pushed for the complete termination of the police liaison program!”
Organizing to win
Students have fought for years to end a program that embeds police violence and racism at the heart of their schools. The group HWDSB Kids Need Help led the campaign to end the Special Resources Officer (SRO) program because “police officers in schools intimidate and harass Black, racialized, poor, immigrant, queer, trans, disabled, poor and immigrant students.”
Research by the group collected experiences of Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) students and staff. In the words of one student, “the SRO program is unsafe and racist. My Latinx and Black classmates and I would always be called to our lockers first when the cops would do ‘random’ searches of lockers. They were supported and accompanied by the vice principal. All students knew where they would start.”
While celebrating their victory in the streets Monday night, several former students said they’ve been “fighting for this for years.” Ruby told the crowd, “this termination should have happened sooner. Black and Indigenous students should not have had to suffer waiting for this vote.”
Masked and physically-distanced, through hours of the live-streamed trustee board debate, demonstrators on Main St. cheered speakers and poets, shared hand sanitizer and snacks, and booed amplified voices of trustees when they praised police.
Sabreina led an impromptu teach-in while power to the board meeting live-stream was restored. She paced slowly while telling seated demonstrators that “the school board doesn’t want to do this work. They’re doing it because we forced them to.”
Sabreina contrasted the mere hours it took the board to suspend the Black Mentorship Program when officials didn’t like its report on racism in February, with the board’s ongoing, years-long refusal to act on student demands to end the police liaison program.
Even last week, a majority of trustees continued to support the SRO program. They used procedural stall tactics in hopes of deflating the surge in student power amid the global rebellion against anti-Black racism and police violence.
“We don’t stop until racism stops!”
Sabriena demanded trustees clear the way to a police-free future because “Black lives matter not only when Black death is viral. Black lives matter always.”
When dark clouds gathered in the sky at sunset, organizers handed out blue and yellow ponchos. Music filled the street while people danced and laughed in the rain. A voice cried out: “We don’t stop until racism stops!”
The storm passed as quickly as it had arrived. As clouds broke, demonstrators chanted: “I believe that we will win.”
A few hours later, they had.
Reflecting on the win, Layla drew links between the student campaign and anti-capitalist organizing. “Police-free schools are just one step toward a safer community,” Layla said. “The ultimate goal of this work is abolition. It is a world without prisons, which serve to separate people from their communities and create generational trauma. It is a world without policing, which acts as a tool of the state to surveil and criminalize Black and Indigenous peoples. It is a world without capitalism: a system that pits us against one another, and forces us to leave one another behind. It is reimagining from its roots a system that will care for every person in our society.”
Within minutes of the trustees’ vote, HWDSB Kids Need Help tweeted:
“WE WON! TONIGHT CELEBRATE, WE REJOICE, WE CRY AND LAUGH! TOMORROW WE ORGANIZE, MOBILIZE, AND WIN.”
Activists in Hamilton have struck a major victory and given serious momentum to movements to defund, disarm, dismantle, and abolish police everywhere.” - James Cairns, “Students Kick Cops Out of Schools in Hamilton.” Spring Magazine. June 23, 2020.

You know what I don’t get? Schools restricting only some YouTube videos.
Like, at my school, most of Markiplier’s videos are blocked. All of LixianVG’s videos are blocked. They’re mostly video games, right? Makes sense. YouTube gamers’ videos, #1 time waster. However random videos from Game Theory are blocked. I understand, I mean WHO WANTS THEIR CHILDREN LOOKING AT THE SCIENCE BEHIND ASPECTS OF VIDEO GAME?! OH THE CALAMITY!! *eye roll*
Now this is something I have noticed personally. I am a nerd (no shit) and I have a playlist on YouTube of all my favourite nerdy songs. A grand total of 194 videos currently exist in my music playlist. I was stoked to listen to “Get The Gang Back Together” by Miracle of Sound. Music. Overwatch. It’s lovely.
It’s blocked at the school.
I mean, I understand the Video Gamers being blocked. But music? What the fuck. And it wouldn’t be bad except for the fact it’s only a select few of MoS’s videos. 77 videos aren’t blocked. And it’s not just MoS, if I were to go on any game-fandom-centric channel with music, 90% chance the song I’m looking for is restricted.
//Rant over.
This, this thing right here, is why I use YouTube to MP3 sites regularly. So I can listen to my damn music at school. >_>

Less than half of student body participate in Hamilton public school board census – Hamilton
Just under half of the student body took part in the first-ever provincially mandated student census conducted by Hamilton’s public school board over the past year. The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) ‘We All Count’ survey was voluntary and focused on questions about student identities, particularly race and gender, to address systemic barriers required by Ontario’s Anti-Racism…

deceptive shit
Didn’t that leave me to cringe due to its deceptive marketing.
My mom’s talking to somebody on the phone, making it known that our employer (she works for the HWDSB too, albeit as a teacher) showed the director outside raising the trans flag yesterday since it was the Trans Day of Visibility. Does that mean much of anything when queer people, whether staff or students, without regard to their position under the rainbow umbrella, run the risk of being subject to abuse for coming out in response to small-talky questions? Nope, it definitely doesn’t; as an asexual dyke who won’t hesitate to voice her realities when asked I’ve been called to many a meeting through the years due to homophobic staff freaking that I went personal during conversations (that weren’t started by me as a rule of thumb). I don’t have it hard calling people out if they say anything transphobic too since I’m allied with trans people and feel I have authentic understanding due to everything I went through to ensure my real name was legal rather than a certain 4-letter word that was written on the certificate my mom received hours after my appearance on earth. If I could, I’d so want to call the board out for its blatant hypocrisy. As it is, I’m doing everything I can through my second complaint they’re disregarding my human rights as a gay and differently-abled child of God, may that have success.

Hwdsb(my school board) is a fucking joke
Everyday the school has to play the national anthem, for the people that died for this country, yet whenever im on time I start fucking seething because Every. Single. Fucking. Time. The school finds the most fucking cheery ass upbeat disrespectful bullshit mix between the french and English versions. I usually stay home til at least 8:48, so I don’t feel like im disrespecting my country, and the men and women that died for it. Remembrance day isn’t enough.

Another snow day! What is going on HWDSB?
Today would have been the day: I would have finished the order for ANDS section and that I would have continued cutting Could have continued to place small dot velcro on the Grades 1-3 Schedule Visuals, as said in the exemplar of the Grades 4-8 Schedule Visuals, which is the module I also could have came at the Education Centre at 8:45 AM as usual, and leave anywhere between 3:45-4:15 PM. Watch Enchante at Lunch for Fridays as usual Would have used the small Pocket Laminator for her next group (Kindergarten Schedule Visuals)
Well, Tuesday is the day Kenzie goes back to the Education Centre. Enough of the horrific snow days Vesna! Should the interns go back to work and Kenzie go back to the Education Centre to finish her orders?

“It is time for the institutions that have oversight of the police and residents to ask why we in Hamilton spend $171 million on policing but only $158 million on social services.” - Defund HPS
Disclaimer: this post is in no way sponsored or endorsed by DefundHPS. All opinions are my own.
Beginning in July of this year, in the wake of systematic racism taking over news headlines almost every month prior, over 3500 individuals from Hamilton Ontario and surrounding areas have joined the coalition to defund the Hamilton Police Service. To clarify, this group does not aim to abolish the police, only defund. In other words, to reallocate the funds that would have gone to the police service, to other social services that benefit society as a whole instead. I am a firm believer in change, and I stand in solidarity with these individuals. Society has progressed well beyond the point of needing a policing system that abuses its power and neglects its responsibilities whenever it so pleases.
I am an immigrant. I am also the daughter of immigrants. My father and brother are both white passing. However, my mother and I are not. Even though all four of us were born in the same country, live in the same new country, and have the same levels of education and training; we are treated differently. This does not come down to a difference in views or “opinions”. Being treated with respect is a human right. Not being targeted, hurt, or killed, only because of the colour of your skin is a human right. And while there may be many “good cops” out there, they still uphold the same system that was built to keep minorities, people of colour, and black people down. Because of this, and the countless other reasons and first hand experiences I have gone through even though I am only in my early 20′s, I stand in solidarity with the DefundHPS group.
