Time to make an updated post on the Guilty Gear artwork I've made up to this point!
First things, gotta include Bridget and Elphelt since these were made this year in 2023. Baiken, Testement, and Giovanna were done back in 2022. I think I'd like to do a Jack-O illustration at some point, and a friend of mine wants to help fund a Ramlethal print, so those might be coming up in the future at some point.
I've made some updates to the chibis as well to include a handful of the male cast! A few noteworthy mentions include an Axl that was inspired by an animation that my friend DoovadHohdan made, a Potemkin that works as a Pot Buster when you use it as a sticker on another sticker, as well as the husbandos in general being paired with plushies of their partners (well, missing Nago and Elphelt because that wasn't a thing at the time)
A little after the Elphelt illustration I also made an Elphelt chibi as well! This one will be double-sided once I convert it to a charm~
Finally, a sneak peak at something that isn't Strive related...well, not yet, at least (maybe). Here's a value comp for an ABA illustration I'm working on based on her Accent Core design! Hoping she makes it into Strive at some point.
I might want to explore doing some Accent Core related artwork in the future. Accent Core is a lot closer to the point of when I first got into the series in my middle school/highschool days, and there are some designs from the older games that are still hecking rad. Plus the music is awesome :D
It's kind of funny; I have to confess that I actually don't play Strive. Truth be told, the GGST movement and limited combo structure never clicked with me when the game first came out (and I was always more of a 3D fighter guy for gameplay with games like Tekken and Soul Calibur). And even though I am pretty sure I would actually thoroughly enjoy playing I-No and Elphelt with the season 3 changes, I just don't really do as much gaming these days since I'm more enamored with making art (and a few other things like biking). Plus I'm kind of just waiting for Tekken 8 at this point (dear god I hope the online is good just this one time god).
But as an artist? You bet your butt I hecking love coming back to Guilty Gear. I've been a fan of the series since the early 2000s (back when I stumbled across an abandonware PC version of Guilty Gear X and became sold on the series). The characters from this series check a lot of boxes for things I love to draw, from the way they are designed and all of their classic rock references all the way down to their zany personalities and backstories. And I feel like Guilty Gear is really special in this regard for me. Even though I'd rather play other fighting games (like Tekken or maybe even SF6), Guilty Gear is probably the one fighting game fandom I want to do art of the most.
If you are a Guilty Gear fan stumbling across this art collection post, hope you are enjoying the art! I will enjoy the series vicariously through you as I get back to working on some Tekken 8 artwork for Frosty Faustings, lmao. And if you're someone who is new to the series, give Strive a try! It's neat and the characters are great.

Why didn't Gabriel with his Agreste brand participate in Fashion weeks?
Why didn't we see how Gabriel actually sews some exclusive clothes?
Why did they make only one fragrance (that smelt like sharp and stinky camembert)? And WHY did they base a whole fragrance on a smell of 14-year-old boy??
What's the price range of Agreste brand clothes? Do they have multiple layers of their brand like conditional Armani?
What's the Agreste brand conception? What's their target audience?
Why did Agreste brand have almost no fashion shows?
They had only one fashion show (with one model, Adrien)
Why are all the shown models teenagers?
They had only 3 shown models (Adrien, Lila and Kagami).
+ The quality of their photoshoot was ass. One photographer with just a camera
I've always thought that Agreste was some premium brand, but what if it's actually mass market....
P. S. @wisteriasymphony
The thing that Adrien just turned into Marinette's prize in the end of the 5 season makes it even sadder. Not only the boy was traumatized by children's modeling but got into possession of the other designer. He might stay in the shadows by the end of the series. Two dark shadows of Dupen-Cheng and Gabriel Agreste. I feel like he will be known as either Gabriel's son or Marinette's husband if it goes this way
+ If Adrien is the main product. Does it make Gabriel a shitty designer who relied on husbando's image lol? No really if you look at Adrien's casual outfit. He does look shitty

To follow my previous post about TV Shows and what not, when it comes to anime I very much prefer series that are locked to one season of 13/26 episodes, that tells a solid story with good characters.
You know, "Outlaw Star".
But I also love "Persona 4: The Animation" and Yu Narukami is my husbando.
And Margaret is my Waifu.
I don't make the rules, that's the way the world goes round. Deal with it.

First image of the year!!
Well, as I mentioned before, I know I'm making this Meme very late, but I didn't feel like doing it until now. And I received some proposals from my followers, some interesting, others boring and others... curious (impossible/ridiculous).
The sad thing was that despite all those suggestions, none seemed interesting enough to draw, but I used them as a base to see what other fanarts could be interesting to do, and that's how I came to this!
Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea: Samekichi
I never played the game, but I saw the full gameplay and read the manga, and it's extremely incredible! Samekichi is a sweetheart, and I loved this character since his first appearance.
The amazing Digital Circus: Pomni
Yup, until a few days ago I just saw the pilot. Needless to say, why I didn't want to give it a chance. The fandom's much worse than I thought, and that repelled me from watching TADC, a complete shame. I'll do a few sketches in the future along with a constructive opinion on it (unless some toxic guy shows up first)
Boku No Hero Academia: Tetsutestu Tetsutestu
BNHA fans will understand me. He's like Kirishima, but with a different font. He's on my list of Husbandos, and I find it funny to compare him to a silverback gorilla.
The Cult Of the Lamb: Lamb
I haven't played the game either, but I've seen gameplays and it's very interesting, I think it's cute and creepy at the same time
Wander Over Yonder: Dominator
I was always a fan of the series, and in my innocence I expected another season that never came. And I always loved this character, she's bad just for being bad. Ironically, I shiped her with Wander, and I still like the ship.
Undetrale: Gaster
I only drew this character once, I have a whole personal theory that fits with my undertale AU, but I still need to polish it. But I have found this character interesting since I entered the undertale fandom.
Comment which fanart I made seems best to you! :D

My cynical ass being introduced to the obvious hetero love interest in Raven of the Inner Palace. Like.
Gaojun: As emperor, I want you to be my actual consort for realsies. Shouxue: Ew no. Me: Alright, here we go. He's going to get pushier and pushier until she inexplicably decides it's charming and-- Gaojun: My bad. I will literally never bring it up again for the rest of the season. Me: Wait. What. Gaojun: Also I've taken efforts to flatten the power imbalance that exists between us so that we can engage with one another as equals. Me: Hang on. Gaojun: Now that we're able to meet on equal footing, would you be willing to be my friend? I'm not asking for any strings attached or promises of anything more, and also I don't fully understand what being friends means, but I would like it if we could learn together. Me: OH MY GOD.
And now I want to have his fucking babies. Are you kidding me with this guy!?
Hooooooly shit. The show is actually putting in the work to make him likable and give us legitimate reasons to root for these two characters getting together. Other media's just like, "Uh, he's a guy, why wouldn't you want him to get his dick wet with the Most Waifu in the series?" but both Gaojun personally and his relationship with Shouxue are being handled with so much care to make this guy likable.
I just.
I know it's probably because it's shoujo so the shoe is on the other foot (trying to write men as desirable husbandos instead of writing women as desirable waifus). This guy is the Chinese inspired but Japanese written equivalent of a Disney Prince. But. Still. I just. This hits so different. It hits so different.
Men, what is stopping you from putting this much effort into your male protagonists?

So I watched all of the new One Piece.
Buggy is just as inexplicably omnipresent in the show as on tumblr. How. Why. You were supposed to be in one episode, my man. Did like his big-top, though.
All of the Straw Hats are so cute. I just wanted to pinch all their cheeks. Especially Luffy. Everyone's casting was amazing.
Alvida was so cute. I was glad they let her keep being chubby.
I enjoyed how much Sanji bombed every time he hit on a lady. Made him pathetic, without needing to make him a complete creep.
I was a bit surprised the series gave Koby command of a sub so quick (wink). But Helmeppo getting his dumb hair cut from Zorro was great. I was also surprised they never mentioned Dragon, despite him being teased and the whole arc with Garp. I was expecting at least one "you're just like your father". Bit disappointed in there being romance included. It was cute, but shipping is supposed to be our job. Oda-san himself said No Romance In One Piece.
I was a bit confused as to why they killed off Merry. I get that they're trying to be a bit more grounded, and boy howdy do people bounce back from nutso wounds in the manga, but it just makes the Merry-Go's fate even more tragic, when it was the favorite ship of a dead guy, rather than just a random thing he built.
Also a bit nervous that they added a whole ship-building town already, when Water Seven is my favorite arc and deserves ALL the hype, even if its at least three seasons away. Given Netflix's average number of seasons being 2.5, I'm probably never going to see my cyborg Husbando. Maybe they'll release the designs, even if they don't get that far. Speaking of the costuming, it was great, and it'll be fun to do a rewatch just to see the work they put in to all the background details. The number of fishmen alone was pretty impressive.
Also, the child actors were pretty good. Seeing all the baby Straw Hats was adorable.
It'll be interesting to see if this gains much traction with viewers outside the anime bubble. It would be great if this was the thing that finally helped One Piece cross over.
Anyways, hope the strikers win everything they ask for, and we get a season 2! Onward to Chopper and Robin!

Ahhh I have such great friends that it makes me want to cry. I just got an overdue birthday present from my friend and OHH it's a huge Blue Lock poster (I clearly talk about this series too much) 😭😭😭
She also gave me pins with my beloved Aki!
Thank you so much @solisea ♡♡♡ And the fanart of Lu Guang and me that you made really touched me (I gave her 5 of my husbandos and she chose one of them. And since she made up the 2nd season of Link Click herself, the choice had to fall on Lu Guang hahah) 💖. According to your wishes, I do not share it; this fanart is only mine!
My other friends surprised me too! Of course, one of them had to give me my favorite boy as soon as she saw him on the Internet:
(another Fushiguro for my Fushiguro collection. I really have a lot of them, so you can see who is my favorite)
Another friend couldn't help herself and gave me Hinata:
I am blessed with wonderful people in my life ♡

I'm going to make an adult Scoobert Dooby Doo spin-off utilizing all members of Mystery Inc and throw in my own ideas.
Premise: a villain has kidnapped Scrappy Doo and the rest of the Doo clan. Yes, we're going to like Scrappy Doo by making him a cute puppy and yes we're going to ignore the last 20 years of Scrappy erasure.
The Doos are being guarded closely by "Monsters," and by "Monsters" I mean people that the Big Bad has gifted special costumes to that turn them into the monsters for as long as they wear the masks. The longer you wear it, the more humanity you lose. Also most of the villains are serial killers and corrupt people that the Big Bad has broken out, and they all have some grudge or another against Mystery Inc members.
As for the gang themselves, we're going to try to keep things truer to form, but I will drip some uniqueness to this iteration. For the record, they're in their late 20s now.
Fred: stressed dad friend but kind Himbo type. Also he's gay and his boyfriend is Alan M Mayberry- yes, the blond guy from Josey and the Pussy Cats. There's a recurring joke about people having trouble telling them apart. Alan is a talented folk singer on tour and still friends with his Co stars. Fred in this series is a car mechanic and has engineering experience as well, so he's the "Pimp my ride" type guy to add in all sorts of bullshit to cars (explaining why the MM is so suped up). He insists that ascots are "in" but they're not.
Daphne: Used to date Fred for a bit, then they realized they weren't really for each other and Fred eventually realized he was gay. Daphne is still supportive of him. She's into fashion and knows martial arts like usual, but also has a bit of a goofy side to her. She loves and supports her friends a lot and will absolutely be the "She asked for no pickles!" Person. There's also a gag that she's done some crimes- like freeing animals from a zoo, vandalizing cop cars, stealing all the left shoes of her previous ex, etc. Also is friends with the Hex Girls, and in college they- usually gets cut off by shenanigans but they absolutely fucked.
Velma: okay we're going to have fun with this bitch because I honestly find her boring or kinda bitchy in her later iterations. First off she's a bisexual, second of all she's sort of got the personality she had from A Pup Named Scooby Doo where she's quiet for the most part, solving things in the background, and a tech genius. She is very useless around pretty nerdy girls and handsome DILF types. Also, a running gag from the show is that she sometimes takes up part time work with other Mystery Solvers like the Clue Club, Fang Face, etc. She's very thoughtful of her friends and always remembers birthdays and such. Scooby is very protective of her. Absolutely has a shrine dedicated to waifus and husbandos, and she doesn't really care that her friends see it. She will kiss her picture of David Harbour and you can either get out or make it awkward for both of you by staring.
Shaggy: scaredy cat, food lover, basically mostly what we're familiar with- except everyone always accuses him of being a stoner. He's never touched a weed in his life because he made a promise to his grandma that he wouldn't. He's just REALLY into scooby snacks for some reason- Velma hypothesises it's because he has a few times more taste buds than average and can taste seasonings no normal person would ever detect. Shaggy is also a well known track star and gymnast, a ventriloquist, and he does improv sometimes with friends. He's a dense harem protagonist- he's straight, just dense af. He doesn't know why Madelyn (Velma's little sister from Abra Kadabra Doo) looks at him with big ol doe eyes, he doesn't get why the Hex Girls keep dedicating songs to him, he doesn't get why Tootie (Reluctant Werewolf) messages him at like 3 am with "U up?" And pictures of herself in cute outfits, thinks its neat that Bat Girl gave him her number once, got invited to be a roadie for spring break for Josie and the Pussy Cats- and this drives the others CRAZY because they all ALSO had crushes on him at some point and made it obvious af, but he's kinda dumb in that regard and so they moved on. He DID have a crush on a hippie girl, but she turned out to be an alien and he's still a little sore about it. Beloved family friend of the Doo clan and part of some chosen one prophecy handed down to them by the ages.
Scooby is here obviously. Everyone assumes Shaggy is the stoner but it's actually SCOOBY that smokes. For this series, Scooby and Shaggy both have the ability to utilize haunted costumes like the bad guys, but Scooby as a beast can remain in perfect control of himself as a man Shark, a demon, or whatever. He is still scared and dumb and a good luck type of clumsy of course, but he's also got some "adult cartoon" qualities. He's a convicted felon, he's a retired secret agent and has all sorts of weird connections, for some reason most celebrities know him, he's part of a Mystery Mascot Union with the likes of Speed Buggy, Jabber Jaw, Sebastion the Cat, etc, and he curses. Ruck you! Rhat da rell? Ritches ret stitches. The Doo clan sent him to live with Shaggy as a puppy as part of an exchange program, and then in Scooby's rebellious age he went off and did all sorts of shit. He's now a scaredy cat after some "incident" at the vet that he refuses to elaborate on, but he loves each of his friends dearly and will go feral for them if necessary. He makes scooby snack edibles and he's got some kids with a random dog, and works with the gang to make child support. Oddly enough, it took Scrappy Doo, his sister's kid, to make him realize he's been missing out on fatherhood.
And of course there's a running gag with Scrappy Doo, who sounds like Catbug now. He's adorable and is either adorably sad or doing puppy stuff like chasing his tail and breaking out of his prison.
Guest appearances by Flim Flam, Tootie, Vincent Van Ghoul, casts of various other Scooby clones, the Boo Brothers, Batman and friends, and of course each episode has one or two Doos, like Yabba Doo, Scooby Dum, Ruby Doo (Scrappy's mom), Skippy Doo, Uncle Horton Doo, and kids we're going to call Gooby, Zooby, and Tooby.
And the big bad? The big bad?
RED HERRING.

Day 5. Your IRL husbando
Robert James "RJ" - Power Rangers Jungle Fury
Let me tell you a funny story.
I've been a fan since I have memory. My favorite seasons are SPD and Dino Thunder. However, I didn't like some of the newer seasons at the time (Operation Overdrive and RPM), so I thought it was time for me to drop it.
Suddenly one day my brother approaches me and tells me to watch Jungle Fury. I was skeptic until he said "there is a purple wolf ranger!"
Now... For many years I asked for a purple ranger and my favorite animal is the wolf. So, of course I immediately ate and absorbed the series. AND IT IS SO GOOD.
And of course, RJ became my husbando 💜💜💜

Xenoverse 2... Again
Ok, with all this fuss of timelines... Now I have 2 Gokus... What could go wrong?
Side mission that pits me against Gogeta... Ok I can do it. Confronting him, how difficult can the fusion of Goku and Vegeta be? Oh how innocent I was...
When he shows up he arrives saying "shall we dance?" ... My poor heart almost stopped.
For general context I have a past with both fussions but because of things I let them go... (if you want to find out the complete gossip after the jump) So come flirting that way... My ovaries exploded ...
The context with details...
In high school, I went through the phase that every handsome male of anime series I fell in love with... So Goku clearly, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks even Gotenks and obviously Gogeta and Vegito... They became my boyfriends XD
Until I met a girl in high school, who would become my best friend... But she loved Vegeta to die.
At first we fought for the husbandos, until we came to the conclusion of distributing them XD (like pokemons)
She stayed with Vegeta and I for Goku. Vegeta became my ex-boyfriend haha and as our jealousy could not stand much ... We both decided to respect the fusions...
Gogeta nor Vegito would be anyone's boyfriend .
The years passed... many years... until at the time of the pandemic I played the Xenoverse for the first time and (you know that in this game everyone flirts with one...) Meeting Gogeta flirting with me again moved the world. Clearly I sent him flying like the Roquet team... but he insisted and made me remember our season in which I cared little about the rest of the world and I chose my boyfriends and... what prevented him from having a relationship with me?
what stopped me was respect for my friend and her relationship with Vegeta... and feeling somewhat unworthy because I left Vegeta...
But the world goes on and with so many timelines she could have her fusions if she wanted... And besides his insistence that "I'm not Vegeta or Goku"... how can I say no to him? Ha ha
First I had to define my relationship with Vegeta, but there the flame didn't ignite again... not like that. Now he treats me like I was an annoying little sister who he has to take care of the perverts (aka Gogeta and Vegito XD)
With that clear... I could let myself go...
Of course, after saying yes to Gogeta, Vegito appeared to demand his place too... In his own way, of course.
Thanks for reading my novel

8 Shows To Get To Know Me
thanks for tagging me @stephmcx!! I'm always so surprised when people tag me in these things 🥹🥹
8 of my favorite shows are M*A*S*H, Twin Peaks, Dynasty, Seven Deadly Sins, Neon Genesis Evangelion, The Witcher, Hawaii Five-0, and Gorl World YouTube Drama
you can read my unhinged ramblings below the cut ♥️♥️
M*A*S*H: this show was my absolute favorite in high school, and it took me so long to watch because I had to rely on re-runs. If I was lucky, I would catch 2 episodes Monday-Thursday and 1-2 episodes on Saturday 12-2am. The series finale completely destroyed me to the point that I have a hard time finishing any TV show these days.
Twin Peaks: yet another show where the then series finale really stuck with me until we got The Return finale which also really stuck with me. Special Agent Dale Cooper remains one of my all-time favorite characters. His optimism and work ethic are inspirational.
Dynasty: y'all haven't lived until you watch an 80's soap opera. The drama and wardrobe are phenomenal. Some of the craziest shit I've ever seen was in Dynasty season 2 and 3. The plot points to get to this clip... incredible.
Seven Deadly Sins: this is the first anime I really got into, and it changed my life. Ban was my first husbando, and the rest is history. The series finally ended in two parts last year, and I kinda wish the second part never happened. It's sad that the series was dropped from the original animation studio, so later seasons do not have great animation. It's a fun ride! Just don't want the second half of the last season.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: a lot of my favorite shows have endings that just rocked my world, and boy howdy is Evangelion one of them. At the end of the anime, I was very hopeful, but I was devastated after finishing End of Evangelion. Two endings that are supposed to be the same but different. I am Shinji. Shinji is me. I first watched this show in 2019 and then rewatched in 2021, and it hit different in the midst of a pandemic and after the Texas 2021 Winter Storm. Excited to rewatch again this year!
The Witcher: while I prefer the video games now, the show is so good that I ended up binging the first season in 1 day with a friend of mine and then I bought Witcher 3 on my PS4 the next day. The rest is history. I love Geralt of Rivia so much. He is my special traumatized old man with a praise kink who has seen some shit boy.
Hawaii Five-0: this is not a show, it is a gay fever dream. I started watching this show while visiting my grandmother last year because she had crime show re-runs on constantly, and I always hoped that Hawaii Five-0 would come on. I am continually amazed by how close Steve and Danny are that I sometimes don't believe it's a real show. How did they get away with it all and still not make McDanno canon? They lived together, went to couple's counseling, shared the same bed, cuddled on the couch, DANNY TOLD STEVE TO PICK A BASE. gay gay homosexual gay.
Gorl World YouTube Drama: I fell into Gorl World about 2 years ago, boy howdy I can't stop watching. I don't enjoy reality television, but I sure as fuck am down to watch hours uponhours of coverage on everything that goes down with Foodie Beauty, ALR, Nikocado Avocado, and others. FB in particular bc her life is so buckwild that it can't be real. i miss the nashie era. long live Queen BBJ ♥️♥️
#about me#tv shows i love#don't judge me for how much i follow foodie beauty drama#that woman is a hot mess#we're all wondering if she has covid or got MERS from hugging a camel on the side of the road#she recently uprooted her whole life to live in kuwait with a man who doesn't love her and her marriage to him isn't real/legal#i think this is all an elaborate plot on FB's part to get her ex back#the same ex who dated her publicly for 5 days and also smoked crack/meth live on youtube#which like how did that not get taken down from youtube#we still don't know#anyway#don't judge me#or my unhinged youtube watch history

the story of how I became a fujoshi
a funny story but it's personal at the end of the day!
It all began in summer ... Kidding, I have no idea what season it was. But this person was but browsing the Internet innocently when she started seeing that word floating around her favorite forums, boards and general "otaku" communities on the web: "yaoi". Actually, "shounen ai" too.
(Thunder would strike now, totally.)
So at first obviously I had no idea what that was. I was very young - not even reached puberty yet - but I was a bit younger than my fandom friends at that time, so they were kinda "eeeerrm" about explaining that to me, but as I was a well-known conoisseur of yuri (because my nickname was Michiru Kaioh for quite some time and even though I liked her for other reasons, of course by then I knew ... way more than a 8yo should about yuri) they chose to explain anyway. But of course... well, yaoi in general was quite raunchy when compared to yuri so they had to tell me that too and I was kinda "ew" at first. I used to read yuri manga but that was basically, um, shoujo with two girls really (which made it LESS problematic than most popular 90s shoujo where the boy would almost always be a rapist or an asshole in some way...) so of course I was kinda "thanks but no" about yaoi in general also because yaoi fangirls were rabid and all that (remember yaoi paddles?!) so anyway for some time... I was like "yaoi? Oh yes, I know. No, I don't like. No I'm not homophobic I just don't like it lol" about it honestly. Even though my best friends at that time liked it I was quite "ew" and "that's ok man to each their own" .
That's how it all began. My first anime fandom (as in series I religiously followed weekly episode releases) was Ouran Host Club and even though it was well a shoujo parody anime (and I was into it for the parody as I was Haruhi To A T and didn't get along with rabid fangirls) it was a very smart one that made me rethink my irrational hatred of rabid fangirls a bit and also some other things. And among these, well... Basically my best boy (that was Kyouya Ootori yes) had great scenes with the protagonist just like everyone else in that reverse harem, and I shipped them loads, but he ... was 100% driven by his relationship with dumb best guy friend Tamaki I guess. It definitely seemed to me more like a love triangle. The more I saw into it, the more I got into the triangle and from there I also began reading "TamaKyo" (actually, KyoTama was my fav lol) fanfic and stuff because I couldn't get enough of my husbando lol. Anyway, from there I learned more about all of it - uke, seme, erodoujin, mpreg - wait but no really but I wasn't entirely sold on "liking BL" yet though my best friend reeeeeally wanted me to just indulge in BL too lol. At some point I watched Princess Princess which was similarly to Ouran a shoujo parody (but in this case of BL manga and its tropes) and was super into it, but the author was also a prolific BL author under another penname so there was a gay ship/couple between the main characters that of course was better than every other ship in that series. But I STILL wasn't entirely sold. Come on! Don't care for guys fucking (actually, I was so Haruhi To A T I didn't really care for anybody fucking - took me a while to realize I was Actually Asexual really ; ; ;) nor am I a guy so why should I actively seek M/M stuff?
That's when, well, It happened. By "it" I mean she set a trap for me. (... This is such a good story I tell people to this day, sorry @ friend. ) She sent me an episode of Gravitation on Messenger saying I had to watch it and I was like "yeah yeah ..." because I couldn't refuse it anymore or maybe it was a dare or something. I downloaded it so she'd be satisfied and had it on my PC thinking "well, let's just let it rot..." and then she asked to come over on the weekend and to put it plainly she robbed me of my mouse and keyboard and played it on my PC. Here I am screaming internally because I'm 12 and my parents are around and she's like "watch it. Just watch it." and I didn't want them to realize I was making a fuss over it so I just watched it. I was very annoyed at first really, but by the end of the episode I was... kind of glad Shuichi didn't really look like a guy anyway and thought it wasn't THAT bad just kinda lame. Anyway, nobody got hurt (maybe?) and then she went home and begged me on Messenger to watch more of it. I think I gave it a try for whatever reason and before I knew it I had fallen in love .......... with Ryuichi Sakuma ; ; ; ; ;
COME ON RYUICHI IS AMAZING. Easily on my top anime guys to this day. He is pretty, talented, famous, slightly batshit has a split personality and one is cool and the other is cute and funny I meannnnnndfbndn !!! Also I hated Yuki but I was RyuShu trash and that never really changed. Murakami Maki was dumb for not exploring the ship better. Anyway, this is the story of how my fandom bff and Kyouya Ootori and Taishi Zaou and Ryuichi Sakuma turned me into a BL fan. From there I watched other friends' recs like GetBackers (fell in love! ALSO, KAZUKI ..........) and it all went downhill from there. By 2007 I was like "but there are bishounen ... and we SHIP" and that's kinda how it goes to this day lol. So after that I lost all of my pride and went on Gaia to ask for recommendations of "anime with great slash ships", discovered Code Geass ... and that's where I'm now I guess.
Fun story.

5:16am / i feel our bodies grow, and our souls, they blend.
haven't written any additions to this in a while, so i thought i'd pick it up again (: the third part of the seasons series, xiao + autumn
section one.
they say that no one story is unique anymore. that everything can only be an interpretation of something that already exists; new or old. and perhaps that's why you feel so down when your eyes reach the page break, and you realise that what you read is not only reminiscent, you just truly have seen this story somewhere else before.
because in the curves of these faces that are described, in the actions that have been reimagined thousands of times, you find someone familiar. only, someone has attempted to craft him into something new.
the image of xiao is destined to be repainted, so long as his vision lives on.
and some things are meant to painted over, like pieces of old furniture or memories you'd rather forget. but good things, truly good things, don't deserve to be subjected to the same fate. a cracked dresser is not at all comparable to the legacy of a person.
the xiao that is spoken of in myths and over fires is ever-changing. but the xiao that you look out the window for each night, the silhouette that appears behind the lanterns hung on the balconies of the wangshu inn, his existence is eternal.
in your own words, the curves of his face may have gotten sharper, but his smile has never changed. xiao did not become more or less kind over time, he has simply always been as such. a myth that suggests otherwise has merely chosen to follow one of the many incorrect narratives in existence.
the wind blows a sheer curtain momentarily to the side, drawing your attention away from the book on your lap. the wind is still warm, but it has a slightly cold bite to it, signifying the shift in seasons.
a small smile comes to your face.
autumn is often your favourite season. because though xiao insists demons are impervious to the cold, he tends to return from his days of scouting much earlier than he would in the warmer months.
and much like the yaksha that bounds high above liyue's plane and harbour, the earth, too, knows that she is unchanging. she has provided an perpetual descent into the autumn, and a gentle rebirth from the spring since the dawn of time.
knowing that many before have sat and experienced the same gentle winds sets a different kind of peace within you.
it isn't broken even as a dense thump resounds on the balcony outside your window. the layout of your space in the renowned inn is an odd one, but it allows for convenience. by the side of a rounded bed is a large window, looking out to the topmost balcony of the inn.
the area was once accessible to guests, perhaps many centuries ago, though it now serves as an easy point of return for both the yaksha and yourself.
you set the book aside. as you pull up a knee in preparation to turn, there is nothing but a quiet gust of air to suggest his presence. but it still comes close faster than you can catch it.
he doesn't touch you, yet his body radiates such a subtle heat that you barely even feel the need to move. when xiao notices that you haven't reacted, he smiles. the amused gust of air he pushes out brushes lightly against your skin
"what are you reading?" he asks, his normally raspy voice quiet. a quick hand reaches around you to where you've placed the hardback.
you make no attempts to hide it as you face him.
"i was reading a book of traditional fables." you explain, watching with a growing smile as your lover flips through the book. "a lot of them include you."
xiao's smile dims slightly, but even he has a hard time masking the interest in his eyes.
"...so? what do they speak of?"
you give him a doubtful look, taking it back. "certainly nothing i couldn't speak of better."
his gaze follows you as you slip from the bed, from his warmth, to ease the book back into its rightful position on the shelf.
"after centuries, i should only hope so." he says.
you laugh quietly as drop back down next to him, silently taking his hand as you joke, "are you worried i'd mess up your pristine reputation?"
xiao takes a moment to smile to himself silently, unable to meet your eye. his thumb hesitantly roves over your knuckle as he begins to lose himself in thought.
"would you?"
smiling gently, you shake your head and whisper. "no."
shaking his head, he scoffs teasingly. his free hand moves up to rustle your hair -- an act that you can only grin at.
and like the autumn wind, xiao's amber eyes are gentle. content. he doesn't have to say anything for you to know that your image reflects the same.
though perhaps you lied a bit, only a bit, in saying that he has not changed. in many ways, this is true. xiao's smile is the same, and he has indeed always been kind. but love does something to a person that not even the greatest writers can emulate.
the curves of his face may be sharp, but what every author has yet to point out is that after centuries, the lines of his heart are much softer.

The Best Yuri of 2020
2020 was hell in every way, and many of us are looking forward to new possibilities and advances in 2021. However, the year brought us many small moments and gifts worth celebrating. Among these, the explosive growth and change within the Yuri genre are among the most precious and most outstanding achievements. This second century of Yuri opened with a bang, as phenomenal new works, creators, and moments made their mark and helped change the future genre.
This annual list is a celebration of just a handful of the fantastic titles, people, and events in Yuri. There are likely some even greater ones that did not make the list because there is so much content in both English and Japanese that even I cannot keep up. However, among the troves of treasure, these titles stood out as shining examples of Yuri excellence. Some were released this year, others were recently adapted into English, and still, others are established titles that rose to prominence to dominate the conversation and my mind this year, but every one of them is worthy of being on this list and in your heart.
Here is the Best Yuri of 2020!
15: The Curse of Kudan Remastered
Japanese Yuri visual novel developers show no sign of slowing down as they continue to push to new heights and try new ideas. These are the same amazing people who brought us the delightful educational Yuri game The Expression Amrilato and the hilarious and surprisingly queer OshiRabu: Waifus Over Husbando’s. However, this most recent release, The Curse of Kudan Remastered, is their best work yet. Released near Halloween, this game brings a new edge of dark mystery and the occult to Yuri audiences worldwide.
The Curse of Kudan is available on MangaGamer, JAST USA, Denpasoft, and Sekai Project.
14: Adachi and Shimamura
English audiences were finally treated this year to Hitoma Iruma’s long-running and wildly successful Yuri light novel series, Adachi and Shimamura. Although the story struggles to gain traction, dedicated readers’ have their patience rewarded with a sweet tale full of gay pining. Alternatively, you can jump into its stellar anime adaptation, with gorgeous visuals and realized characters you will actually be willing to put up with the annoying Yashiro just to see where the title characters go. The series shows no sign of slowing down either, as the manga adaptation is coming to Western audiences next year.
Adachi and Shimamura is available to stream on Funimation. The light novel series is published by Seven Seas - https://amzn.to/3rTSZTK
Honorable Mention: Happy Go Lucky Days
The OVA adaptation of Fragtime got most of the attention this year. Still, director Takuya Satou and Pony Canyon also gave us this much-overlooked “love is love” anthology movie based on Takako Shimura’s manga (Sweet Blue Flowers, Wandering Son). The first short in the film, “Happy,” is easily the best Yuri anime of the year. It follows the beautiful yet realistic queer love story of two women hooking up at a mutual ex-girlfriend’s wedding, only for the relationship to blossom and warm viewers’ hearts. Sadly, while stylized, the budget demanded the animation cut a few too many corners. Additionally, the subsequent stories are at best tedious and at worst alarmingly problematic, which is why Happy Go Lucky Days only gets an honorable mention.
The OVA is streaming on HIDIVE
13: Mieri Hiranishi
The Yuri scene has many colorful creators with a breadth of different ideas and stories in the genre, yet few have provided as much humor and joy as Mieri. This talented creator spectacularly tumbled into the scene with her manga essay The Moment I Realized I Wasn’t Straight, which embodies the brutal honesty and realism of Nagata Kabi and matches it with exaggerated hilarity. She continues to chronicle her painful struggles of being a butch girl in love with butch girls in the monthly series The Girl that Can’t Get a Girlfriend. Alternatively, you can follow her on Twitter for just as much heart and laughter.
Read The Girl that Can’t get a Girlfriend on Tapas and Webtoon.
12: My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!
My Next Life as a Villainess has what can only be described as volcanic bisexual energy. Every character protagonist Catarina Claes encounters is entirely enthralled by her. Of course, she is far too preoccupied with her quest to avoid doom flags and change her ultimate fate to notice any romantic interest. The series is rewarding and well structured, as views are just as focused on how Catarina plans to avoid certain doom as they are with the various romantic misses her band of companions cooks up. While the “friendship ending” did not capitalize on its Yuri potential, it was perhaps the most satisfying possibility for this crazy harem, at least until season two comes out, which looks, unfortunately, to be significantly less queer.
My Next Life as a Villainess is streaming on Crunchyroll
11: Love Me for Who I Am
Kata Konayama’s manga series is less Yuri than a general LGBT work, but it has a lesbian character and explores her identity and struggles in great detail. Few titles before have captured the exciting and nervous waves of emotions that young people feel as they explore gender and sexual identities and try to find themselves. This heartfelt and extremely queer series rubberbands between cute moe dress up to tragic and gripping backstory, keeping readers on their toes the whole time.
Love me for Who I Am is published by Seven Seas - https://amzn.to/3rTSZTK
10: A Summer’s End – Hong Kong 1986
Oracle and Bone’s debut visual novel, A Summer’s End, is set in a vibrant and electric 1980’s Hong Kong. Drawing inspiration from classic Asian cinema, music, and fashion. The worlds of Michelle, a young office worker, and a free-spirited woman named Same collide. The two struggle to comprehend and accept each other’s feelings just as they struggle against society’s expectations and prejudices. An incredibly thoughtful and touching adventure, the creators incorporated vital contemporary elements include Asian LGBTQ rights and growing political unrest in Hong Kong, into this illustrious game.
The visual novel is available on Steam.
Honorable Mention: Goodbye, My Rose Garden
In the same vein as A Summer’s End, Goodbye, My Rose Garden is a beautiful period piece that incorporates LGBT views into its shattering narrative. The story follows a bright-eyed immigrant, Hanako, wanting to make a new life in England as an author at the dawn of the twentieth century. She takes a job as a maid to noblewoman Alice, but their relationship takes a turn when Alice asks Hanako to kill her. This poignant tale is beautiful and an honest depiction of love and its conflict with responsibility and society.
Goodbye, My Rose Garden is published by Seven Seas Entertainment - https://amzn.to/3hFSyaG
9: Shio Usui
Usui’s hit Shaikaijin Yuri manga Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon could easily take this spot even though it is not even out in English until February 2021. The manga is already making waves and receiving constant praise. The characters and their journey to discover love and self-acceptance are as charming as they are relatable and grounded. However, it is the creator, Usui, who really deserves acclaim. Not just for their work on Doughnuts, but having a second serialized story, Onna Tomodachi to Kekkon Shitemita, in monthly Yuri magazine Comic Yuri Hime simultaneously. It is even more remarkable when you consider these two iconic stories are Usui’s first long-running works, as they only contributed one-shots before.
8: Bloom Into You: Regarding Saeki Sayaka
Bloom Into You is possibly the most iconic Yuri series in the past decade, and while the manga deserves its own place on this list, the best thing to come out of the series as a whole is easily the light novels. This trilogy by Adachi and Shimamura creator Hitoma Iruma dives deep into supporting cast member Sayaka. Readers are treated to a delightful journey as she discovers her sexuality, experiences heartbreak, and finally finds herself breaking free and falling in love. With the help of gorgeous illustrations by Nakatani Nio herself, Iruma masterfully captures Sayaka’s unique voice and emotions in this wonderful series. Whether a fan of the originals or not, every Yurijin must check out Regarding Saeki Sayaka.
The light novel series is published by Seven Seas - https://amzn.to/3hFSyaG
7: Our Teachers are Dating
The best a Yuri can get. This workplace romance follows two teachers at the start of a new relationship taking nervous yet enthusiastic first steps, including saying I love you, going on their first date, and even sleeping together. It is so heartfelt and salacious that readers will squeal the whole time. Additionally, our heroines are supported in their relationship by everyone they know, their students, colleagues, and even the principal. It is a perfect world for these two lovebirds! Our Teachers are Dating would easily be number one or two in any other year, but the competition is fierce in 2020. So even though this is only number seven, it is still a master class Yuri manga.
The manga is published by Seven Seas Entertainment - https://amzn.to/38XY3O9
6: Amongst Us
Who would have thought that a comedy alternative universe story spinoff of a fantasy action series would be the single best Yuri webcomic this year? Shilin’s astounding artwork illustrations the hilarious and irresistible journey of girlfriends Blackbird and Veloce. These two eccentric young women get into all kinds of everyday mischief that bounces between tender and touching romance, completely outrageous comedy, and downright thirst-inducing sorcery. Seriously, you should buy the first volume for Veloce’s back muscles alone. The storyline skips between time, but both their established relationship and their meeting as teenagers are adorkable and captivating.
Amongst Us is available online free on Webtoon and the comic’s website. The first volume is in paperback on Shilin’s site.
Honorable Mention: Éclair
There are a lot of Yuri anthologies out there, and they have done some beautiful things. Many focus on themes like Syrup. Others collect a series of stories by an author into one bound work. However, out of all of them, Éclair is the most successful. ASCII Media Works took some of the genre’s most extraordinary creators and let them do whatever they wanted, and the results are spectacular. The incredible talent behind Éclair somehow packs a full volume’s worth of story and character into just a few pages with every chapter. While the first volume came overseas a few years ago, Yen Press gave Yurijin a gift this year by releasing the entire rest of the series in which readers can get lost.
The anthology series is published by Yen Press - https://amzn.to/38XY3O9
5: I’m in Love with the Villainess
A small trend of isekai Yuri with villainesses emerged recently, and I honestly had few hopes of I’m in Love with the Villainess. The series is pretty popular, but I often find that this does not denote quality, and with isekai having some institutional issues, I suspected this would fall flat. Then the volume three cover showcased an incredible accomplishment, allowing for a lesbian relationship to blossom into a family with children, and it blew me away. Finally, I read volume one and realized that the series has incredible character, some of the best world-building I have ever seen in a light novel, thoughtful discussions of inequality and societal issues, and most impressively, open and frank discussion of queer identity and life Yuri has ever seen! This one is something special.
The series is published by Seven Seas Entertainment - https://amzn.to/3nedvdZ
4: The Last of Us Part II
Yes, I know this one is not Yuri and that a portion of the population despises this game and will likely be exceptionally angry at me for including it. However, I maintain that it was an incredibly challenging masterpiece. Naughty Dog did not take the easy route out and delivered one of the most devastating media experiences I have ever seen. As I said in my article about the game, playing it changed me, and it sticks with me to this day. The Last of Us Part II earns its spot on this list because it pushed boundaries more with LGBTQ inclusion than any other AAA game. From brave inclusion of LGBTQ themes to queer characters and storylines at its center, the game changes gaming and it will never go back.
The Last of Us Part II is available on PlayStation 4
3: She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
She-Ra feels like the culmination of all the LGBTQ progress western cartoons have made over the past few years. From The Legend of Korra to Steven Universe, young people are finally seeing more LGBTQ people represented on the small screen. This epic fantasy concluded with an amazing and powerful lesbian romance, delivering on its queer promise and revolutionized representation in a trope-defying crescendo.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is streaming on Netflix
2: The Conditions of Paradise
The greatest single Yuri work of all in 2020 was the English release of Akiko Morishima’s breakthrough manga, The Conditions of Paradise. Initially released in 2007, this anthology detailed the love between adult women. It was in every way a manga ahead of its time, and seeing it finally get a small piece of the recognition it deserves overseas is a true gift. The fact that we can own this legendary piece of Yuri history and Morishima’s other anthologies is nothing short of a blessing from the Yuri goddess.
The Conditions of Paradise is published by Seven Seas Entertainment - https://amzn.to/38bh4xq
Honorable Mention: Otherside Picnic
This eerie sci-fi horror series combines the best of pulse-pounding thrillers, complex and intelligent hard science fiction, and exciting Yuri romance. Author Iori Miyazawa spends as much time crafting a well-paced and intriguing narrative about a mysterious world where occult creatures roam as he does establishing two believable and grounded heroes in Sorawo and Toriko. The romance between the two may be slow to start, but their chemistry is undeniable and as the stakes and story build, so too does their relationship. Not only are the light novels incredible, but the series’ manga adaptation is coming soon to the West as well as an upcoming TV anime in early 2021.
Otherside Picnic is streaming on Funimation. The light novels are published by J-Novel Club - https://amzn.to/3niiv1g
1. Yuri subgenres
For a long time, Yuri was not a genre of its own, but elements of romances or bonds between women found in other works. Now, thanks to an increasing library of works, the advent of social media, and a wider audience, Yuri is a genre on its own, with many creators telling different stories in different styles. However, 2020 saw the continued emergence of something extraordinary, subgenres. Yuri is now so vast, we can actually categorize the works within. Depending on their characters, like classic schoolgirl romances or spicy shakaijin office affairs, their world, such as fantasy or isekai series and thrilling science fiction adventures, and even other elements within. One of my personal favorites is the feminist Yuri that emerges from titles like Sexiled, where women celebrate the accomplishments of other women and dismantle power structures stacked against them. Now, no matter what kind of Yurijin you are, there is something for you to love.
I am happy to leave 2020 behind, but I bring with me a renewed love and admiration for Yuri. 2021 looks to be a somehow even better year for the genre, and I am thrilled to experience every minute of it that I can. Yuri has transformed into something far greater than I ever thought it would be, and let us all enjoy its evolution and expansion together in 2021.

Hi.....Can I ask your top 10 favorite anime ever (can be series or movies)? And why do you like them (if you don't mind me asking)? Thanks.....
Hi thank you so much for asking! So my top 10 are
1. Fairy Tail
This was my first anime I ever watched and I know that a lot of people hates it because of the power of friendship and all that crap but I absolutely loved it. I watched it when I was going through a really low period in my life and this is what got me out of it so this anime has cemented its place in my heart forever. Also can we talk about how good the filler episodes were; I think that FT deserves some credit for having the best fillers in any series.
2. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
This was also an anime I watched from my noob days so I had no idea what I was getting into and boy was I shocked. I loved every single episode of it and it had such a heavy theme and message but it was brought about so effortlessly that you can’t help but love it. Also appreciated that all the women in this anime were strong and didn’t depend on anyone saving them.
3. Assassination Classroom:
Ahhh this one brought me so much pain. I remember watching the season 2 finale and my dad was in the same room with me and my dad looked up and saw me full on crying and he had the most confused look ever lol. But seriously this is an underrated anime and I absolutely love Koro sensei.
4. Gintama
This was one that I went into for comedy and just to kill time when I was bored but I was caught off guard with the emotional plots, like one minute I’m crying from laughing so hard and the next I’m crying cause the writer broke my heart. Also I loved the openings, endings and OST’s from this anime.
4. Akatsuki no Yona
I thought that this was going to be your typical harem anime where the girl gets saved by her guys in every situation she puts herself in but I was genuinely surprised when it was not. I loved that we got to see Yona start from her lowest point and gradually grow both mentally and physically and her determination to protect Hak at all costs 🤌. And Hak was just 😍😍😍 seriously he set the standard for all my anime husbandos. Also still keeping my fingers crossed for a second season 🤞
5. Attack on Titan
I thought this was an anime about giant naked people eating smaller clothed people; I did not expect it to go in-depth about war, race, genocide and other heavy topics. Honestly I’m really impressed how simple scenes from the very fist episode came into play for the most recent episodes. I know there’s a lot of criticism for the author about the direction and choices he made to end the series but I absolutely loved the manga and I really enjoyed the anime and most certainly am looking forward for the final final final season.
6. Bleach
I think Tite Kubo deserves an award for creating the most attractive characters tbh. Like even the villains were so damn good looking. I believe this was the second anime that I watched and everyone was like oh I bet it was better than Fairy Tail and I’m just meh. I think the reason why I didn’t devote my heart and soul to this was because of the toxic fandom, whenever I talked about it, it was always are you Team Rukia or Team Orihime and I’m like yo I’m just to figure out when are we going to get Ichigo’s dad backstory. Putting the fandom aside I really loved this anime and I can’t wait for the final season to be animated.
7. Howl’s Moving Castle
The plot of this was just absolutely beautiful. Sophie deserved the world and so does Howl. Sophie was such a relatable character to me when I was younger because I understood her insecurities about herself and watching her slowly overcome them was breathtaking. Also Howl’s meltdown after dying his hair the wrong color 💯 % understandable lol.
8. Haikyuu
Ahhhh I don’t think I have enough words to describe how much I loved this anime. I loved that we got to see Hinata start from the bottom and grow from there. It was also nice to see character development from the secondary characters as well. I think this is the first anime that there wasn’t a character that I disliked.
9. Fruits Basket
This one absolutely caught me by surprise. I thought it was a simple love triangle, will they or won’t they get together type of trope and I was thrilled to see how much more in-depth the story went. Seeing how much each character was suffering in their own way was heartbreaking to watch but seeing them overcome their trauma was oh so satisfying. I still stand by what I originally posted that Akito deserved punishment for the abuse that made members of the zodiac suffer.
10. Sword of the Stranger ( Stranger: Mukou Hadan)
This is a very underrated anime movie that I see absolutely no one talking about. It has an interesting plot as well as great animation style. The characters were so likable and the soundtrack really set the theme of this movie. Also watching the familial bond grow between the two main characters was just icing on the cake.
