Sookie had felt something hit her right in the gut but had chosen to ignore it in favor of the rest of the danger surrounding them. There wasn't exactly a moment to step aside and check on her own well-being when they were in the middle of an ambush. When the smoke cleared, she would have been thinking to herself how stupid it was for a bunch of anti-vampire activists to get very gun-happy and start shooting silver-laced bullets at everyone, including non-vampires.

Instead, when Eric came to check on her, that's when Sookie realized that she wasn't anywhere near okay. Her hand brushed her shirt and immediately felt something wet, and she turned her hand over to find the red liquid smeared across her fingers. ❝ No, no, no, ❞ she whimpered under her breath, lifting up her shirt to find the bullethole. Just the sight of it sent surges of pain throughout her body and she looked up at Eric with FEAR in her eyes. One step forward and she was stumbling into his arms. How had she not realized before that one of the Steve Newlin wannabes had shot her?

ELENA HAD BEEN ON EDGE EVER SINCE KLAUS HAD LEFT TOWN WITH STEFAN. it had been months since she's caught any word of klaus' whereabouts or whether or not stefan was alive and safe. it was starting to wear on her; so much so that she began to give up all hope in having her boyfriend back. because of this constant paranoia, elena began to be afraid of walking at night without a friend by her side but tonight she had no other choice. her friends seemed to think she'd be okay because so much time has passed since klaus had reigned terror among mystic falls but elena didn't believe so.

SHE WAS WALKING HOME ALONE AT NIGHT AFTER SPENDING TIME AT THE GRILL. she was hoping someone would be able to come pick her up and give her a ride back home but no one was available and she was forced to experience the inevitable stroll home alone. it was darker than most nights and that frightened her. every hair on her body stood up on its end and her mind began to play tricks on her. did you hear that? who was that? where did that shadow come from? her steps quickened and her arms that hugged her body tightened in faux comfort. now she KNEW she wasn't hearing things. she spun around, tears falling from her eyes, as she yelled, “ who's there !? what do you want !? ” hoping it was just her imagination. it had to be right? she was unaware that @hunterandfangs had been following her all night.

she had no idea if the pup that had finally pulled her from the trap knew what she was, or if he was laboring under the delusion that he was saving some human that had been wrongfully locked away. either way, she wasn't about to out herself -- not until she'd managed to burn the runes that had been inked into her skin off. in the meantime...she hated to use the word but she was VULNERABLE. those bastards knew old magic, the same kind she had used to keep exorcisms from freeing her vessels. only the runes they'd used left her barely more than human. her wounds weren't healing, and while it wouldn't kill HER, it would be the end of her vessel, and she particularly liked this body. “ how did you find me ? why are you here ? ” it wasn't exactly a ‘ thank you, ’ but it wasn't open hostility either.

"I... I'm not really sure what it was." She admitted to him. "Its going to sound stupid." She then said.

She took a breath "It was.... like a monster... walking on two legs, but... furry all over, and.... Large eyes." She said.

She shook her head "No one believed me with the angel, why would anyone believe me with this." She said softly, looking away from him.

Elena glared up at him. The youngest Mikaelson brother was also the most…ruthless, chaotic. She could feel blood seeping out of the wound on her neck and grit her teeth, blinking back her tears. She’d dealt with Elijah, but he held a certain amount of respect for her, and while she had dealt with Klaus more than once, he had never really been interested in her beyond what she could do for him.

Kol’s mocking was something else, something she hadn’t quite expected. Still, she reminded herself that she had dealt with worse. If nothing else, he couldn’t get under her skin like Katherine could.

Or so she told herself.

“I’m not going to cry over you,” a part of her knew that antagonising an Original was probably not a good idea, but she tuned that voice out for the moment, “and you can go to hell.” She spat the words out with as much venom as she could.
