Well, first of all, thank you so much for your patience! I know it took me seven weeks to reply to this Ask! I agonized over my list (also, the holidays happened, which kept me busy). But I finally narrowed it down, so here we go, in no particular order:

Transient Shadow, True Light by seafoamist/@seafoamist Kuroko no Basuke | M | 322k, WIP | Kagami/Kuroko | angst, hurt/comfort, time travel, historical (Edo Period) | If you talk to me about this story, I will go absolutely feral, because it is my current obsession and the only WIP that is on this list. I'm straight-up insane about its quality and depth. I can't even put this story into words. It knocks the wind out of me.

And lastly, my URL doesn't actually have a story behind it! It's basically just my life, haha. “Extant” is an adjective meaning “ongoing/still in existence” and “exhaustion” is pretty obvious. Essentially, I like alliteration and thought it sounded better than "tired 100% of the time."

Fantasy manga reccs for folks that liked Freiren, Dungeon Meshi, and Witch Hat Atelier

1. Is what you liked about DM dwarves promoting good lifestyle habits and giving exposition about monsters? You might like Soara and the House of Monsters! A girl raised to be a monster hunter meets a group of dwarves who build houses for monsters and stars traveling with them.

2. Did you know Dungeon Meshi isn't Ryoko Kui's only series? The Dragon's School is on Top of the Mountian is a collection of oneshots all packed with the Ryoko Kui charm.

3. Do you enjoy fun magic item crafting and a relationship between a long-lived elf and a human? you might like Elf to Shuryoushi no Item Koubou! Magritte is a magic item craftsman who, along with her assistant and bodyguard Yura, fulfills all sorts of requests for magic items.

4. Do you like when series really delve into the how and why of logistics? You might like The Dragon, the Hero, and the Courier! It follows the daily life and trouble of Yoshida the half-elf, a dedicated postal worker who delivers all sorts of strange and mundane letters.

5. Did you know witch hat has a cooking manga spin off? now you do! Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen is extremely cute & domestic.

6. Shinozaki-kun no Mente Jijou is a modern fantasy about an ordinary office worker finding out there's a lot about himself he never knew about - turns out his body has been modified to hold all sorts of magical machinery. The thing with machinery though - it needs maintenance

7. Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro follows Kuro, a strange traveler who carries a coffin on her back, two shapeshifting twins she's adopted, and the talking bat who lives in her coffin as they wander the land looking for a certain witch. Whimsical & melancholy, this is one of my all time favs.

8. Akagami no Shirayukihime follows the life Shirayuki, a herbalist, and the people around her. It's kind of hard to sum it up with one thing because it's a pretty long series where a lot happens! It's got really lovely art, fun worldbuilding & extremely charming characters

9. Hakumei and Mikochi are two teeny women who live in a house nestled in the roots of a tree. Lots of them cooking, building, exploring and visiting friends in strange places. I really love the background designs and detailed art of objects! My fav chapters are the market visits. This one's another of my all time favs!

10. Otherwordly Izakaya Nobu! More food in fantasy because you can never really get enough of that. A bar in modern japan inexplicably opens its front door into a fantasy city. Each chapter different people come to the bar to talk about their lives and enjoy japanese food.

11. Radiant, a pretty classic fantasy shounen by a french artist - it's on this list primarily because I looooove the art, especially the backgrounds. It's got some fun magic item worldbuilding as well.

12. And to finish off these reccs, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina. This one's closest to Freiren in terms of who I think will like it. It's about a witch, her slow paced journey around the world, and the people she meets along the path.

Kambe couldn’t help laugh as she watched Hunter trying to braid Omega’s hair. It had been almost five years since they all finally settled on Pabu. It was still hard to accept that Tech was gone. She was glad to have Crosshair back, to know Wrecker was safe, and Echo was out fighting for his clone brothers, even though she wished she could’ve heard from him more often, yet … it wasn’t the same. 

Crosshair had been right when he said ‘Clone Force 99 died with Tech,’ it really did. 

Her mind focused back on Omega and Hunter as she saw the look on Omega’s face asking for help.

“Hunter, love, what the hell are you doing? It’s braiding hair, not untangling the wires of the Marauder.” 

She walked over and tapped his thigh, getting him to move over so she could sit beside him.

“It’s not my fault these hairstyles are so intricate.”

“Explain to me, how Wrecker, with his big hands and fingers, is able to do a fishtail braid, and you can’t even do a simple French braid?”

“Wrecker deals with explosives, love, he’s used to the fine touch. Not to mention him and Lurwa have three girls, he’s used to braiding.”

“Mmhmm”

She giggled as she gently undid the mess that was Omega’s hair and brushed it lightly, “Megs, you want the French braid?”

“Yeah, but two, one on each side.”

“Okay.” Kambe chuckled as she grabbed the comb and the hair ties. She poked Hunter in the ribs, “Okay, pay attention.”

“I’m paying attention, it’s my fingers that don’t work.”

“You’re a trained fighter, a soldier, a sergeant. You can’t handle precision work?”

“I can handle you” he smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Um, excuse me, child present” Omega raised her hand to remind them, as she sat in between Kambe’s legs.

“Okay.” Kambe chuckled as she grabbed the comb, “First split the hair down the middle so it’s even.”

Hunter nodded, “I did that.”

“Then tie up the side you’re not using,” she slipped a hair clip to the one side.

“Didn’t do that.”

“Then you start from the very top and take three strands, keeping them separate.” She showed Hunter with her hands. “Then you cross one over and slide it under, cross the other over and slide it under. See?” She started braiding Omega’s hair, adding more hair to the strands as she moved down, “Don’t pick up a lot when you’re adding to the diminishing strands. Good rule of thumb, one row for one strand.”

“Ohhh. Okay, I think I see where I was going wrong.”

“Wanna try?”

“On the other side.”

Kambe finished braiding the one side, moving over for Hunter to give a go. It took him a few false starts but when he finished it wasn’t half bad. “Good job, love” she leaned over and pressed a kiss to his cheek. 

Omega gently touched both sides, “How does it look?” She turned and asked Kambe, she’d been feeling nervous all day, and now that her hair was finished, the reality of her situation hit her. 

“You look beautiful Megs, and I’m sure your date will like it too.” Omega blushed at Kambe’s teasing, and stood, she was wearing the new shirt Phee had bought her, and the new boots Crosshair got her. Kambe’s smile grew as she looked at the teenager before her, she was no longer the little girl that clung to her side during her time on Kamino. “You look beautiful Omega. And very spiffy.”

“Spiffy?”

“It means stylish.”

Omega nodded, smiling, “I like it, spiffy.” She took in a deep breath brushing away her butterflies, “Alright. I’ll be back by lights out.”

“You better, or Hunter is going to come looking for you.” Kambe stood, and kissed her forehead, hugging her, knowing she didn’t have to worry about Omega getting hurt. “Have fun, but not too much fun.”

“What’s too much fun?”

“You’ll know.” Hunter stated as he stood, hugging her, “You have your knife?”

“Yeah” she hugged him back. 

Kambe and Hunter watched as Omega headed out the door, she turned to Hunter, “Ever thought we’d get to a point in our lives where we would see her go on a date?”

“No.” He ran his hand over his face, “I miss Tech, if he was here, he would’ve connected to all the cameras on Pabu and followed them on their date.”

She arched her eyebrow, “Wait …” she took a moment as an idea clicked in her head, “When you and I …” she motioned between the two of them. “… would go on our dates, on Kamino, did Tech follow us via the cameras?”

Hunter blushed and looked away, clearing his throat and moving out of Kambe’s arm’s reach, Kambe’s eyes widened, “WHAT!”

“It was only two maybe three times” Hunter clarified.

“Hold up … did  he …” she closed her eyes trying hard to fight the laughter that wanted to erupt. “Did he see,” she cleared her throat, “the time we got … carried away in … my office?”

Hunter’s face went beat red, as he moved away and towards the kitchen, washing dishes and putting away the dry ones.

“Hunter.”

“He swore he turned it off and deleted the recording.”

“Oh. My. God.” Kambe’s face dropped out of sheer embarrassment before she covered her face and started laughing. “Oh god, no wonder he couldn’t look at me for a week afterwards.”

He chuckled as he thought back to that week, “Yeah …” he dried his hands and turned to look at her, “he said that moment changed his perception of you.”

“And you didn’t think this was something I may have wanted to know?” She crossed her arms.

He laid the towel on the counter walking over to her as he wrapped her in his arms, pulling her closer, “Myri, would you have wanted to know that Tech saw more than you probably wanted anyone to see?”

She shook her head and laughed, “Well at least I’m not as much of a mess as when we first met.”

Hunter huffed out a laugh, “Thank the force for that.”

“Why do you love me?”

“Seriously? You mean beside the fact you’re beautiful, intelligent, smart, incredible in every way possible.”

Kambe smirked, “Yeah besides that.”

Hunter let out a sigh, “Well I guess,I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you. Think about it, of all the med stations, of all the medics in the galaxy, you were assigned to Kamino. And out of all the days you split between the lab and the med bay, I just happened to walk in when you were the only one on duty. If that was the universe conspiring for us to be together, I don’t know what is.”

“Cheeky” she grinned leaning in.

“Always for you,” he closed the distance and kissed her, a kiss that reminded them of everything they knew to be true of each other. They were meant to be, and nothing could ever separate them from each other.

1.)Ninja Storm

Fav Character: We know this already its Dustin, he really is loveable and whether people like or dislike the season they aren't allowed to hate him

Fav Female Character: Very much enjoyed Tori and her interactions with the team, I think she worked well as the first female blue alongside being a freaking water elemental like she's underrated as hell.

My OTP: Hunter/Dustin, I have this in the morning, lunch and dinner. Honestly need to stop making doomed scenarios for them, love it better when they are happy with each other.

My NOTP: Nothing really tbh that i can think, I guess I'm not too huge on Marah/Dustin unless they are only platonic, Tori/Cam is a no go unless it's like poly.

My Other Ships: we love Cam/Shane in this house and Tori/Blake(add Kapri in the mix sometimes). Not a ship per se but firm believer Lothor dated some of the men in the academy back in the past, I mean it was an all guys school before Miko.

My Least Favorite Character: None really.

My Favorite Episode: The Wild Wipeout

Who I Would Date Off The Show: Dustin, Shane, Hunter, could alternate. I'm more Dustin coded so I'd fit right in😭

Fav Character: Trent and Ethan, both goated characters in my book

Fav Female Character: We love Kira and Cassidy.

My OTP: Conner/Trent or Conner/Trent/Ethan/Kira where Trent in both of those is being loved and held closely at all times

My NOTP: unless it's poly I'm not really a big fan of Kira/Conner unless they are platonic ngl. Tommy/Elsa is more of laughs instead of love for me.

8. connor. the fact that he is so high up should tell you a lot about the attrocity that is this season. not that i ever hated him, i just dgaf about him. this season did absolutrly nothing to make me root for him and he was useless as always, but when you have riya and yul in the same team as him, suddenly i want him to make finale. connor confuses me because jhst like fiore, he was clearly brought back to reconcile with someone (riya and alec respectively) yet he was barely given relevance or screen time and then they just eliminated him. because TOM AND JAKE GUYS!!! THEYRE STILL HERE!!! anyways yeah connor. wow

7. aiden. i used to have such deep and fun feelings about aiden and now hes just there to be toms friend. you would think getting james out gained him some independence, he would get a fun character arc outside of anyone else, but nope, hes not independent just decided to pull the lamest bitch ever. someone take him out already

6. fiore. so sad to see her so low but she was absolutely useless this season. if she doesnt come back then this show is fucked. her whole character arc built up to a reconciliation with alec yet it... never happened. radio silence. the season is still ongoing but my hopes ended with season 2

5. james. it is laughable that someone from season 2 (the second worst season) who i initially despised both for awful acting and bad morals is in the top 5 of a season he was eliminated first in but hey DCAS is really annoying me. so yeah. james!!! i miss james. do you guys think james could come back and just fucking kill jake. thatd be cool. love you james miss you sm

4. gabby. her villain arc could prove so fun but the fact that tess went all flower power at her elimination and forgave gabby for her actions might make gabby back out of her villainy which I DO NOT CARE FOR!!! As of riize, i heard about get a guitar but never paid attention to it bc wth am going to do with a guitar?? I had already knew most of the members names bc i was reading fanfics of them bc i wanted something new to read-

Ummm.. how/why did i start stanning for me to be able to stan a group, i have to find a song that i like a lot, and then a member that really reels me into the group, making me want to learn more about them. In this case it was seunghan haha

So erm.. i remember talk saxy came out but i never listened to it, just saw the thumbnail on youtube and i was just like "oh cool!" And continued on with my day. A few days later though (fun fact talk saxy was released on my kpop anniversary) it finally dawned on me that they had a new mv so i listened to it at school. It was just okay. Watched the mv when i got home; the song was songing (for context, when i have a fav song i play the crap out of it then get tired of it a week later.. talk saxy took me a month to recover-) and seunghan was seunghaning.

So uhh.. decided to look more into them. My bias list at the time was seunghan.. maybe shotaro then sohee then sungchan (reminds me of yujun) and then anton (idk if anton was up or down or not)

Shotaro caught my eye bc usually hes really giggly and smiley but i had watched the bts of talk saxy and my jaw DROPPED bc how he so foine like?????

As far as anton.. me bestieee (@starryriize) is sohee biased and i was too kinda, but anton was catching my eye a little bit so i just declared he would be my bias even though i thought it would change in a week or so (IT DIDNT HAHAHAH)

I don't really remember when anton started giving.. like bro just spawned on top and just stayed there 💀 i think it was when i was watching those old riize videos where their preparing everything and anton was so SOFTTT and TINYYY and SQUISHYY (i get lots of cute agression with riize)

*checks list of my favs* I think all of my dudes and dudesses could top and bottom... Gremia? He's definetely a top, but if it's for Damian... He's ready for anything. Damian literally was top for Micolash and bottom for Gremia. Laurence? He is straight as hell and he would be anything what Rom say lol Rom can be both... Ehhh Ludwig? Both. Logarius? This guy is always top (woman that can dominate him isn't born yet or sits on her throne behind illusoric wall) and for sure isn't gay, just appreciates strong manly brotherhood, deep dark manly dungeon and can agree to some things if will get drunk enough. Edgar? Both... Micolash? Both... Yurie? Both...

*yells* DAMIAN. The REALLY OLD man, handsome, tired, maybe insane, protective, has something against Micolash - connected with him. Perfect guy, right????? But okay, jokes aside, my blorbo for sure has a story behind him and I crave for different interpretations of him. He may be evil, betrayous, he may be someone's father (dilf), there is A LOT I can imagine. My man is often depicted as cuckold or a third wheel :( But okay, Damian is only one amongst many NPCs that deserve attention and love.

Can't say a lot about fanfiction, I read only a small part of the whole fandom writing. But as for art - for sure more about unpopular characters! It's a blessing when a popular artist has a fixation on a forgotten character. Like... fandom starts to realize this character exists?

Also I am IN LOVE when people draw everyday scenes from character's lifes! Micolash studying and reading, hunters drinking tea and talking, those who will suffer some time later - having peaceful and joyful time, enjoying everyday routines. Every character cried at least once in his life, every character laughed, had someone they loved. That's what I also VERY MUCH like in your art - your scenes of characters having comfort time - they are precious! We need more like that!
