hey i follow you on twitter and saw that your insurance stopped carrying your insulin and that you leave for asia in 5 days. so sorry that happened. but i would recommend buying insulin in asia as it is much more affordable. depending on the country it might be 50-70% cheaper. just visit any clinic and show your past prescription to get a new one

thanks for your concern, anon! and yes, I am well aware...when I lived in Japan I got ALL of my diabetes supplies for a tenth of the cost of the copay for just my insulin in the US. that was with insurance.

luckily, the cost of insulin has gone down and it's much more affordable now--to the point that I'd much rather spend my time in Asia enjoying being there and not running between clinics begging someone to prescribe me insulin. and even more luckily, after like 2 hours on a phone I was able to work out the issue, so I will be medicated for my trip. :)

(that this even happened is an entirely different conversation. fuck UHC.)
