Things no one told you

Pricing new teeth. For 12+ years I have been on Remicade,Humaria,Cimciza, and as of now ENTYVIO. I knew that I would need to be monitored for osteoporosis, which in my last bone scans showed the beginnings in the left hip and femur. So it should make sense that that can wreak havoc on your teeth. The first sign of trouble was on vacation in Belize one of the local men gave me some local snacks. I bit into the snack (local heart of palm) and my tooth broke in to 5 or 6 pieces of varing sizes. I was on hour from the nearest airport and about 2 more from a dentist. I choose to stay and was treated by the local guide that had given me local the snack to me. When we got back to the lodge I was no near closer to a dentist. With only 3 more day I stayed so I didn’t ruin my wife’s trip. I have had to cut to many vacations and trips or drive to the store in the 15+ of marriage to ruin this. Luckily an orthopedic surgeon arrived in the camp that evening and was able control the pain of this exploding tooth. The crush into to its self like a hotel imploded in Vegas. The tooth was robbed of Ca and the structure of the was gone. Now have three missing teeth and several more broken off just below the gum. I was always proud that I took good care of my teeth, no cavities until 6 years ago. Now every tooth has damage and I am ashamed. My teeth look like a meth addict. The dentists(5 so far) have all recommended the all on 4/5 methods of implants over dentures because of the likelihood that I will have more bone loss in the future. Once the teeth are removed the jaw will lose bone(happens to anyone with no teeth), the difference is that there is much more bone loss with dentures. Prices are crazy $40,000, foreign prices are more reasonable but still a lot for me, $8,000 plus travel and lodging for two trip to the country. I set up a go fund me but I’m not sure what and how to anything. I know some of you are thinking “I could never go stay in the jungle.” I have a hard time driving to the store. It was not easy but I was not as bad as I thought it could be.

Logo Designing with @hnnydesigns.

I decided to get someone who had more experience with creating logos to create mine for my photography business. I knew Hanney Blackwell from modelling for me in the past, I found out she does graphic design and is very goof at creating logos and has the software to be able to create logos. Her instagram account is called @hnnydesigns, this is where she posts clients work or her work advertising herself.

For a while, me and Hanney kept an on going conversation about what I would like for my logo and what was possible. I sent mood-boards and images of logos that I liked the look of. Which I have posted in a previous post of researching logos and icons. After sending them, Hanney started creating first templates, which are shown below. 

I liked the designs but I wanted my name to stand out a bit more and to also have my full name too.  I also said that I would like to have some rose gold or gold writing to make the text stand out. Also to add some pastel pink into the flowers. 

This was the next design, I liked the writing but saw that the ‘r’ didn't look right as didn't look like what it was suppose to be like. Inside of a green outside circle, I asked for it being pink as thought it stood out too much. Looked too dark for me.  Again I asked for the writing to be gold.

This was the next template. Hanney said having the circle as pink, it did not look right as the splash was also pink/orange.  I asked to try see different types of circles but decided this border was too much, took the attention away from the writing. Also I was not keen on the text being glittery. Therefore I asked if she could do a metallic look or a 3d solid colour instead. It would make the name easier to read.  I sent some ideas below to help develop more. These were designs that I found on Pinterest. I loved the floral and the font with the gold too. 

We decided that the logo above and below had the wrong text. The ‘r’ on palmer did not look like a ‘r’. It just didn't look right and I did not want to confuse anyone when reading my name or get it wrong. I liked the circle band, its more simple and works better as a whole.

Below is some fonts I liked and tried to make the ‘r’ look more like a ‘r’. I liked the Humaira Demo  and Belle et belle font. 

However the Humaria font did not work with the rest of the logo. The ‘r’ was correct but the whole text looks too thin and small in comparison to the rest of the space. As it was too thin, the colour would not be able to be seen.

We changed the font to the other chosen one which worked really well as it was able to be slightly arched over the word photography. Below is my final logo that we have worked on together. I asked for a logo without the colour splash behind and with. I use the image without the splash at the moment for all my social media. But I have the choice of the one with the splash if I ever want to update the logo slightly if getting bored of it or want to add more colour. I have that option. But I am very happy with my overall finished logo below. It works well with the simple crisp background. Even though there is some flowers, I think the name stands out due to the font, colour and the metallic look which makes it darker than the outer circle.

Well another week done. After several doctors appointments I found out in need a shoulder surgery. If all goes well I'll get it done by Christmas. I'm sure that I'll end up in the hospital a few weeks after it. It has happened after ever time I've had a surgery not related to the Crohns. I need it. It has been a long time coming.

I was diagnosed with Crohns at 19,after years of test,weight loss, and vomiting. The last one is great for a high-school kid. I was a fairly good athlete and there is nothing like having people know you as the kid that pukes. I was lucky enough to have my issues published in the paper(1/2 million readers). I was good enough to earn a college scholarship, that is when things got bad. After a knee injury I started to loss weight. After losing 40 lbs I was asked to see the specialist. They didn't have any idea. I left school with the understanding that I would return. It never happened. I was still healthy enough for me to get the operation on my knee. A few weeks later I was in the hospital. I was bleeding and going to the toilet so much I had moved a pillow and blanket in. One day my brother came in and I could not move and was in so much pain. He carried me to the car and to the ER. I was there about 2 weeks. At first all my friends came, girlfriend,and boss,soon less people came. Then after about 4 days the boss called and asked when I would be back, friends were doing what 17-18 year old kids do. At about 10 days the boss said that they can only hold the job for so long, friends would call or even show up but very few, and the girlfriend didn't think she could with this. At that time I still didn't know what was wrong. After getting out it was a hard I still was not good but had to get back to work so I would have insurance. I didn't go out with friends and not many asked. In no time things were very bad.

Next time I'll cont. For now I'm on entyio. I have tried all the others. Remicade was the best for me. After 10+ years on it I got really sick and was given the news that I had pancreatitis. Really bad they didn't think I would make it. 48 days in the hospital. Then humaria, same thing but I was monitored very close so not to bad, 12 day stay, then cimzia, and now the entyio.
